We eat here quite a lot and our favourite meal is their Noodle Soup with vermicelli noodles . As we are vegan ( and it has usually chicken broth ) we ask for it to be made with water and then we add our own ready made vegan vegetable stock flavouring . Perfect !!! We also love the vegan Larb tofu salad and this is delicious . Cheap and quick this place is BUSY but open till late and tables are found quickly . Highly recommended

Yum yum! Green curry wasn’t the hottest I’ve had but it was good. My spouse had the Pad Sew Eh (or the like)! And he enjoyed that as well.

Very Thai, that's all I can say, from the flavours of the food, to the servers... All are Thai. I love their Pad Thai very much.

Good food, reasonably priced, and very convenient to where we were staying. We received a recommendation from several other guests at the hotel where we were staying and were not disappointed!

Quick service, great thai food, Good prices! However it seems to be packed most of the time. If going by yourself just sit in the stools and youll have a plate of amazing thai in no time!

I am an American-born Thai, and I have to rate this one of the best Thai restaurants outside of Thailand. Every time I visit SF, I make a stop here. If you like Thai Noodles like Pad See Ew and Lard Na, it doesn’t get any better than this. This restaurant isn’t fancy but the food reminds me of the street food in Thailand which is the best.

Nice little Thai restaurant, food is amazing, staff are friendly, good size meal at a reasonable price. Very busy which shows how good it is👍🏻

Florescent Lights and so-so food. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing (Pad Thai) but it was gummy, and for 14 bucks I expected better. No atmosphere (bright florescent lights and formica tables). Looks like it *should* be a really good place (crowded, mostly asian clientele, no atmosphere) but it just didn't seem so to me, though I like I said, I may have ordered the wrong thing.

This is the place for authentic Thai food prepared on order. Not fancy but mentioned it to others who highly recommended it. We loved it. I couldn't stop eating the Shrimp Pad Tai - highly recommend. Dessert Mango w/Sweet Sticky Rice was fabulous. Very casual. You order at your table.

This was one of the only asian restaurants open later than 10pm. Service was speedy. Food came out quickly and was very good. I got pad thai. Son got beef noodle soup and hubby got pineapple fried rice. Plates were cleaned up and we were full. Good stop!

Choose Pad See-Ew big portion, nice and crunchy veggies, prawn perfectly cooked! Take away greatly packed with napkins, cutlery and chopsticks Very happy

Stopped in for dinner after spending some time in Union Square. The food was great and the service was quick and friendly. I had the pineapple fried rice and there was lots of chicken and shrimp. I like my spice on the mild side and this was perfect. My wife and son prefer a bit more "heat" and enjoyed their selections as well. There is a selection of sauces on each table so you can adjust to your liking. Would definitely go back again.

Quicks lunch. Chicken with red curry. Tasted well, and service was quick. There is improvements to do in the environment though.

The food was tasty and of good quality. The value is great. We ordered the crab fried rice and the Pad See Ew with Chicken, and both were good. Well recommended for quick, cheap meals.

Very good and inexpensive food, we went there 3 times. Can only recommend it, always happy to go back. Side street at Union Square

Friendly staff. Horrible food. They gave us a second dish to retry. Same outcome. Everything was extremely overcooked. Still the staff was very friendly and helpful!

I ordered dish number 17. Chicken option. That was delicious. The menu also contains noodle soups, fried noodles, vegetarian dishes and desserts and drinks.

I was in the Union Square section of SF, sightseeing before I headed to a shoot in Fisherman's Wharf. After windowshopping at Bloomingdale's, and marveling at the material goods the one percent of Northern California desired, I became hangry. I wanted real food: no Burger King or Carl Jr for me. I walked up Powell Street until I saw a small green storefront advertising Thai noodles. San Francisco is one of the Asian food capitals of the world. I wanted to see what this particular Asian restaurant offers. After showing proof of COVID 19 vaccination, the host graciously sat me at a table near the window. I ordered an entree with flat noodles, pork, and Chinese broccoli. No egg rolls or drink. The portion was huge, pork tender, spices savory and pleasing to the palate. I filled myself full with this great food. The bill was about $20 with tip: not cheap, but you get what you pay for. Next time I'm in Union Square, I'm returning to a great meal at this humble restaurant.

I feel very comfortable to go into and eat alone, no problem. There are variety of Thai food and cost was reasonable but not so cheap though.

This place is always bustling and your food comes quite fast even at lunch time. The fried rice was so good even my daughter who has high expectation as She normally doesn't like fried rice was happily eating it. The duck soup noodles with herbs was well marinated and it was just what I needed on a cold day. The opening hours show them opening until 2am, I would suggest that u call ahead as they do close earlier when it's a quiet night.

King of Thai Noodles is a hidden gem in Union Square. Good food along with good service. I had family in from out of town we didn’t want to buy a $13.00 Hamburger elsewhere. This was my second time coming to King of Thai. I had the Chefs special: Pineapple Fried Rice while others in my party had WonTon Soup. They serve large portions. So bring an empty stomach. The service is very quick. There is upstairs seating. There is no elevator. There is no street parking. There are some public parking lots in the area. This is a must try restaurant in the area.

Just coming out of the pandemic, it felt like this restaurant was still getting its sea legs, but the food was delicious, and the service, although a bit tentative, brought us a nice, relaxing meal near our hotel. We enjoyed a spicy seafood salad and a nice chicken noodle dish. There are lots of dining options in San Francisco, but if we were staying in this part of the city again, we'd definitely return to this restaurant.

Good food, large portions. The pad see ew is amazing. Always open, and always quick. I always stop by when in SF.

I visited here a few years ok and time had dulled my memory of whether it was good or not. AS before it was extremely busy and again I got a seat at the counter that runs the length of the building. Exciting view of a wall a foot from your face. Order was taken quickly and food came out very soon afterwards. I had a eggplant dish with shrimp over rice and it was actually very good, much better than I remember the food being before. It was however about twice the price of food in a nearby Vietnamese restaurant on 6th St. Summary - good food, ok price- restaurant décor -utilitarian and nothing to write home about with basic furniture and a rapid churn of customers

Had a quick lunch here. Very large portion of pad see ew. Was full the rest of the day. Sat on the side bar and had good enough service.

I arrived in San Francisco tonight and I'm staying in the Union Station neighborhood. My cousin, a local, recommended I try out the King Of Thai Noodle for a delicious, inexpensive dinner and she was spot on. I'm a bit of a Thai food snob and I'm not saying this is the most spectacular Thai food I've ever had, but it was tasty, quick, and priced well. Not to mention it's clearly a local favorite and service was impeccable. My friend and I split chicken larb, shrimp fried rice and chicken pad-see ew. Great portion sizes and exceptional quick service made this the perfect dinner spot.

Smoking service and quick serving. We had fried rice with pineapple& shrimps and fried eggplant with shrimps Neither tasted special and shrimps were at Best neutral

There where a lot of people in there when we arrived so we thought this must be good and it was. I don't want to call it a restaurant as such. It's a authentic little Thai eating place. After we ordered it took less than 5 minutes and we had our plates. To go in there you need to love 2 things, noise and sitting very close to other guests. It's so good that I would go there again.

Good food, fast service. We like the complementary water and the food was home made and chef quality.

Location 5 minute walk from Powell station, Front line staff was ok Food so so nothing special, for my asian taste, service fast. Price ok Can try if you miss Asian food.

I am Thai but I bring a few friends eat here with me. I must write this in English so everything can read this! The staffs do not know I can understand everything they speak, we ordered a few food, they were horrible but acceptable because we are hungry. My friend is allergic to seafood, but they bring prawn version to us. We told them we ordered chicken, they said ok we will change, but at the back of the restaurant yelled they ordered prawns, not chicken! Even said, let them wait! and make it very spicy! My friend cannot eat spicy, lucky I can eat, so we exchanged our food. This is very embarrassing to Thai people, they make our delicious dish different than the normal and if my friends know what they talking behind us, I don't know how to react to this!!

After shopping around union square we visited for early dinner. Quick service. Nice fast Thai food joint. Excellent location.

Pad Thai was good, not too sweet. The soup bowls are enormous and the service was quick. They don’t wait for all the items to be ready, they just bring them out as soon as they are ready.

really good! fast service, great portions with fresh ingredients - perfect as change to the greasy food you find everywhere! :))

This place has a huge menu with a lot of great choices. I found it hard to decide. Wife had chicken pumpkin curry which she raved about. Wish I could remember my choice but it had peppers, onions, shrimp, calamari, and fish....very good, mildly spicy dish. Both came with a large serving of white rice. A server brought out my dish and I was about to dig in when he quickly came back out, verified my order, and apologized that I was given the wrong dish. He immediately came back with the correct order.

Good location walking distance from Union Square Average Thai food for a fast lunch Service friendly A good place

I love coming to the "King of Thai Noodle". The place is always busy, but I never had to wait for a long time for my food to be served. The service is great and the food super yummy!

Very nice food and good service. Visited at around 8pm on a Saturday evening. The queue was managed well and we had a table in approx 10 mins. Good menu with everyone in the family finding lots of choice. Would definitely return to this place

Friendly staff and smiles even though we were here in lockdown with Corona Virus meals very very fresh and vert tasty as well as being well presented and a good size

Came here twice because I needed good food and quick. Close to the shops and tucked away it’s very busy but you get seated quickly. Food is ordered and served very quickly Most of all it’s tasty and the make sure you ask for the chilli

The prices were n double what is listed here The portion are small, I ordered curry with shrimp, there were 5 there. The taste was ok

We came here around 1:15 AM and they served us with great service and a short time later we had our food. The food was very fresh and excellently spiced. We really enjoyed it and it filled us up well! Very happy with the type of food and the spiciness was just right. Had options to make it more spicy if you desired. Will come here again!

Food seems to be quite expensive in San Francisco, so this Thai place seems to be pretty reasonable and portion is satisfactory. I ordered Duck red curry , though curry is tasty, the duck pieces are miserable and all fats. I Guess it’s better to order chicken or seafood. Service is quite efficient. Overall, it’s good enough if you want Asian Thai instead of usual American.

Google has some bad reviews on this place but I don't get it. If you want fine dining, this isn't it. But the staff are helpful, the food is delicious and it is so quick! Plus I'm vegan so I always appreciate the ability to cater for me. I had vegan pad Gra pow.

More cafe than restaurant and I know the USA is expensive but $16 for Satay and the same almost for Egg Rolls and these were just Starter/Appetizers Mains which we ordered were just average the Pad Thai & Three Prawns was $20 and my Green Thai Chicken Curry with Rice was $18 and the curry dish was tasty but full of cheap vegetables green beans & onion We took two Singha beer each at $7 a can and although staff were attentive the whole meal experience was mediocre average and could have been so much better Food & Service 4/10

Read the title and get that. That is the absolute best curry dish I’ve had in a long time. Trust me and you’re welcome.

Great food! Penang curry was a littlespicy but not too much and very flavorable. The cucumber salad was the best ever. My pineapple rice was quite good but I like the curry better. Not upscale in decor, more hole in the wall but the food was superb.

Ordered Combination Beef Noodle Soup, 11.50, and Larb $11.50. Both were plenty to eat for two people. We found the food too salty. If you don't care for too many raw onions be sure to meantion it. The restaurant is Zagreb rated, but could be a little cleaner and painted. Very busy, and seems very popular.

I wouldn't compare them with Asian country thai restaurant but they would be decent if compared with Thai restaurant in the USA. Simple home cooked food. Service was fast and food dished out really quick. Give em a try.

We were told about this place by one of the staff at our hotel and we popped in to give it a go..….thank goodness we did. Hot, fresh, flavoursome food that was a joy to eat. They catered for me (the meat/fish eater) and my daughter-out-law (the vegetarian). They made suggestions and recommendations that were perfect. Should I ever be back in San Francisco this will be a first port of call for food. Thank you to the team in there they were brilliant.

Found this place while walking around the Union Square area, and we definitely weren't disappointed! All the food that we ordered was bought out quickly and tasted delicious. The staff is very friendly and attentive. Prices weren't very expensive at all. Definitely recommend if you're looking for authentic Thai food!

Enjoyable experience, couple with some pretty good food. This is very much a fast food experience, so don't expect restaurant standard stuff, but it's good fo what it is.

Red curry was absolutely gorgeous, Pad Thai with shrimps also gorgeous and plenty of it. Staff were friendly and food came extra quick.

Bad Service ,Not friendly , No Thank you to the customer No Anything . i'm Thai you should welcome me like we are Thai ( very disappointed)

We spotted this place walking back to the hotel one evening so next night decided to give it a try, excellent food, fast service, slick operation, really tasty!

Closest thing to real Thai food that I have had outside of Thailand. Quick, friendly service and decent food. I would recommend.

Surprisingly unappetising food - and not cheap. The duck with fried rice was poor - the duck was mainly skin. We will not return

Top spot while visiting San Francisco on New Years Eve. Great food, super location, quick service, no frills! Hit the spot! Lots of options w/ fresh veggies for vegetarians and vegans.

Got told about this place by the air crew after our flight from UK to San Francisco. Knew it was going to be ok as most of the customers were oriental. Good selection with out overwhelming you. Order what you like then order more if required though I don’t think you will as the portions are impressive. This is a basic restaurant not high end but serves good tasty food at the right prices

Very popular, but waits are relatively short. Crowded inside with tables close together. Nice menu and lots of veggie offerings. Service very haphazard, and we never received one of our orders which was on our bill til we complained . Promptly removed. Food is better than average thai food, prices are a bit on high side, but it is very close to union square.

We ordered what was supposed to be pad Thai noodles with pork. It was by far the most disgusting meat that we have ever eaten. It wasn’t beef, chicken, or lamb. It didn’t taste like or have the texture of any meat we have ever eaten. I’m going to see if the health department can help us identify what exactly we were served.

As there was a queue at Cheesecake Factory, we decided to walk around to look for an alternative. We stumbled upon King of Thai noodle on O' Farrell and we were so glad we did. Food was so good especially pad thai. We decided we were going to go back the next evening as well.

Affordable and efficient service, and best of all the food we ate taste great.authentic thailand cuisine.

We noted this little place was always full. We decided to give it a try and so glad we did. Authentic Thai food served with a smile. Open until late clean and friendly staff. Wait time was fast. But be prepared for a good size serving and great food. No pressure to tip but of course we did. Loved it best food.

It was pretty hard to have a budget Thai Restaurant in San Francisco and it was nice a gem for me especially during the long business trip. They open till late like after 22:00pm which is perfect for a late dinner. We ordered Roasted Duck Noodle Soup and combination beef noodles which help me to cure my homesick:)

I've been to Thailand many times. This is a fair imitation of Pad Thai (which is what I ordered). The meal only had 3 prawns, but I ate every bite with relish. I'd eat here again.

We had the egg rolls for starters and they were delicious. Main was 16(seafood) & 17(duck) witch was very well made and had wonderful flavors.

Looking for a quick meal and a glass of wine. Found this place slightly off the main drag in Union Square. Not expensive and the service was quick. $23 for a pad Thai and a wine.

i think it didnt take more than 3 min to my penang curry. it was very good and authentic. price was 14$ wich is not so cheap. but quality is good!

I found this place by walking around Union Square, and I am happy I did. We ordered the Pad Se Ew Beef, Pad Se Ew Chicken, Pad Thai Chicken, and Vegetarian Noodle Soup. Everyone was happy with their order and wished we had discovered this hidden spot sooner! You can see how fresh the food is prepared, and you truly are in for a good meal!

My wife and I arrived in San Francisco in the later afternoon following a few days in wine country. After checking into our hotel we were looking for an interesting restaurant walking distance from our hotel that was a little different. A quick check of TripAdvisor brought us to the King of Thai Noodle. The walk over helped to build our appetites and boy, were we ever rewarded. The King was hopping when we arrived, but we were promptly seated and the service was efficient. We decided to order several dishes and share. We selected the Chicken Satay, sautéed vegetables, and chicken Praram which is sliced chicken and Napa cabbage with peanut sauce. Our dishes were served with an ample amount of steamed white rice. We devoured each offering with zeal. The dishes were delicious and the table offered pickled jalapeños, dried pepper flakes, and chili sauce so that we could customize the heat to our choosing. When you’re in San Francisco and looking for great Thai food visit the King! You can thank me later.

Enjoyed our lunch here - nice place, service good and food comes out timely. Spacious, clean. Good Thai food - would recommend.

We came here the other night very hungry after spending a long day at a music festival. It was fairly busy but we were immediately seated when we walked in. A young lady gave us menus and came back a couple minutes later for our order. I typically get Pad Thai at Thai restaurants (and usually rate the restaurant according to how well that get that dish down). I told the server I'd like Pad Thai, she nodded and then took my husband's order. She didn't ask if I wanted a protein with my order but that was ok because the menu description had tofu listed. Neither did she ask what heat level I wanted. My husband pointed to the vegetarian section and asked for the vegetarian Tom Kha (coconut milk soup) because we were sharing our dishes and I don't eat meat. Our server rushed off with our order and came back just a few minutes later with our food and then she ran off again to chat with another server. I noticed another server taking orders at nearby tables asking their customers about heat levels and proteins for their dishes (including one customer that ordered Pad Thai) so that was disappointing to know re our order. But then I stirred the soup and saw big slabs of what looked kind of (but not really) like chicken. Weird. So I did not have it and my husband just had the broth/veggies and left behind the odd looking "stuff" - which took up a large portion of the bowl. The Pad Thai came with 4 shrimps - which was another weird thing because we did not order shrimp. And it tasted way too sweet. Our server did not return until much later when we were nearly done with our meal. When I pointed at the stuff in the bowl and asked what it was, she replied "Tom Kha." I said I knew it was Tom Kha but what is the weird looking stuff in the bowl and she said "chicken." I told her we ordered the vegetarian Tom Kha and she replied "sorry." It was too late at this point to do anything so we just asked for our check. I was surprised that she didn't at least take off a couple dollars so that we would be charged for what we actually ordered, especially since we didn't eat any of the "meat," but she didn't. We were both sorry we went here.

Scrumptious bowls prepared with delicious broth snd well cooked, flavored, and seasoned ingredients. We tried several dishes, one better than the other.

I visited here in September when traveling round America but I’ve only just been able to remember the name. We were over all the burgers & steaks we had eaten so seen this little place & it smelled fab! We got a table very quickly even though it’s a busy little place. We both had flat noodles with chicken (can’t remember the specific dish) we both really enjoyed it. We were here at lunch time & were in & out relatively quick. A few hours later id noticed I’d lost my new sun glasses I’d treated myself to in LA so retraced my steps!! As soon as i walked in the door the young girl who served us came running towards me with them. Wes nice she remember me as we were in just a short time.

Have been here a few times when I've been in the bay on business the thai food is good and it is quick. I've mainly ordered ahead and pick up is super convenient.

I didn't think one could have a bad meal in San Fran, until I ate here 4 nights ago. Ordered the tofu and wide noodles; I asked for only tofu and no veggies. I got a pound of oodles and about 20 tiny pieces of tofu- the pieces were smaller than the ones in miso soup. We also ordered the beef soup that tasted like nothing. I guess they had not mixed the flavors.

Good Thai food, very reasonably priced for its location which is near Union Square. The service was quick and efficient.

Next door to work, great food and friendly staff. I try to get the small table for one by the door. Very reasonable price . If you’re taking a break from shopping this is a great place to do it in. Then you can get back to shopping.

This was recommended by our Hotel Staff for somewhere to eat that was great value and great food. I am not a fan of Thai food in the UK , however , the 2 visits we made in only 4 days in San FRancisco certainly changed my mind. The Service is very quick and very efficient as soon as you are seated staff bring glasses of water and then give you time to consider your order. Once ordered it is served quickly and efficiently and staff do not try and ask you for any other drinks which was good. My family of 4 all enjoyed the food we ordered hence why we went back again. When you do walk into the restaurant at first you do think whether it is going to be good food , however , it was excellent!!

After enjoying a 66 lap pool swim at the Intercontinental. I was quite hungry as you can imagine. Came across this place while walking along the trolley cart route. Your typical dirty looking dives, but had great food. Service quick, my Phad Thai was spicy and tasty. Would have it no other way. Other than the surroundings, a good place to eat if you don't mind the crowds or environment.

Innapropriate shows playing on TV, not a family atmosphere. Service was ok, efficient but not friendly. Food would have been good, but was a little too spicy for our taste.

Lots of vegetarian choices. quick and efficient service. I had the vegetarian pad thai and it was delicious. Price is typical in San Francisco. It's a fast food place and they had an A rating so give it a try.

This is a restaurant that is busy because of the prime location if being around union square. It's okay in taste. I would suggest something spicy to give the chicken fried rice and pad Thai a kick and bit more flavor. My food was warm as if it had been sitting in the back ready to be brought out. The priciness of the menu was unfortunate as you're going to pay around $20 for a basic rice and chicken meal that isn't that filling. The service was hit and miss. There were moments where we would get many visits for assistance and moments where we didn't see the waitress for 40 minutes. All in all- it's basic Thai restaurant with a formal dining price.

Tasty Thai food in the midst of winter is amazing! Service is mediocre but food is delicious, a must order is the beef soup noodle! The stir fried vegetables are really yummy too.

Great Thai Food close to Union square, we didn’t know anything about it, we passt by and discover it, food is very good and I realized it was full with Asians. Pad Thai is like in Thailand.

Great food and friendly staff. We got Pad Noodles and a rice dish, both were great. no doubt will go back if and when I am in SF area.

Located in downtown close to many hotels. Food was not bad, price was reasonable, service was fast! Even though there may be line-ups it moves pretty fast.

The wait staff noticed without me complaining, but waiter did not mention it when it did finally arrive. Not a long wait in any case. The panang curry chicken was very good, but I felt the need to add a teaspoon of the dried chilis to spice it up a bit. It was excellent.

Went to this place for dinner in the evening as I fancied Thai food. The chicken skewers were like rubber and the main courses were bland. The best thing about this place is the speediness of delivering the food. Top tip close the the door as there was flies whilst seated.

Forget about the tom yam soup as it tastes so bland which is not what Thai flavors are. For a moment, I thought I was in a restaurant run by non-Thais. What is Thai flavors without its most popular tom yam soup?

Excellent food. Very busy, but the food comes very fast and it is hot and delicious. The menu is a tad extensive but the your wait staff will answer questions. Its a great place especially if you love noodles.

Recommended by friends. The chicken yellow curry was perfect as was the fried rice and Thai tea. We were seated immediately and service was excellent. No frills restaurant, moderately priced and great food. Will definitely go back!

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The food was very flavorful and reasonably priced. The wait staff was patient and knowledgeable. We will return!

Such a good find-- the food here was delicious and authentic. Their menu is extensive, I got stir fry noodles and my friends got soups and they were all delicious.

tasty Thai food, good service, good location and pricing. I would come here again for sure. do enjoy the red Thai curry.

This is a small, and busy but neat place. Was bustling with a crowd of Asian patrons when we visited. Quick, efficient and courteous service. Food was very good. Had the real aromas and flavours of authentic Thai food. Good location, great value for money

The food was amazing! We tried the cashew chicken (the best plate we had!!!), the Larb salad and the Pad Thai. Everything came out very quickly and was delicious!!!! It’s our new favorite restaurant at Union Square!

I'm not recommend this place they support Dictatorship in Thailand another restaurant many is better .

Thai fried rice, green papaya salad, pad kee mao and the noodle soups, I've had are all good. I've had a lot of Thai food in my life in many different metro areas, and this place seems the most consistent and tasty. I used to live in SF almost 20 years ago and went to the original location in the Richmond District where you could see the grandmas cooking. This one near Union Sq. was excellent and the food was just as good as I remember it to be. Everyone who ate out with me in a large group, also enjoyed their meals. The thai chilies and ground peanuts that are on the table make fine condiments. My only complaint is that the place is pretty divey looking. I can forgive that for good food :)

My family and I decided to give this restaurant a try for dinner as it was just down the street from our hotel next to Macy's. We arrived there around 7pm and were seated promptly. Service was good and prompt, and the food was served very quickly. They had a tray of condiments at the table, including chilli sauce, soy sauce, chilli flakes etc that you can help yourself to. We had the hoi jor (little fried morsels of shrimp and meat etc), pork noodle soup, and pad thai. The portions were huge, and the food was delicious. The servers were very solicitous and made sure our glasses were kept topped up with cold water, which was nice, given how hot a day it was. Overall, a good dining experience.

For downtown San Francisco and two blocks ago from Union Square, King of Thai Noodle (KOTN) has good prices for Thai dishes served hot at your table and it opens later till midnight on certain days. They also have carry-outs or takeaways. Pad Knee Mao was a classic and savory noodle dish. Panang curry chicken was more spicy and come with a large portion of rice. Soft drink or soda is $3 and comes in a cold can that one pours over a large glass of ice. KOTN has a no-nonsense decor - it's more like a diner, with 15-18 tables, and high seats along wall counters. Service is fast. Staff is courteous. They take Apple Pay but you had to go to the register to wave your iPhone or Watch device. Entrees are $17 and up. If you'd like to pay less, go for the Thai place in the Metreon food court or Sarku (Japanese) and Panda Express (Chinese) in the Westfield Mall nearby, but these food courts close earlier at 7 or 8 pm, depending on the night.

Home on the wall Thai in busy area of downtown.. Excellent duck noodle soup and a glass of wine.. I'll return

We stumbled across this Thai restaurant on our first night in San Fran. The restaurant was busy at c6.30pm and we did wonder if there would be a wait for food but no the food arrived quickly and the service was excellent. Good value for money and we really enjoyed the relaxed feel of the restaurant. We ordered a curry and pad Thai and the portions were generous.

called in this place, during our recent stay in san Francisco. Décor is fairly basic, atmosphere is informal and relaxed. staff were friendly and efficient and brought our food within 15- 20 minutes of ordering. Food was fresh and tasty. this is a no frills restaurant that serves good honest food, and is excellent value.

To be fair this was recommended by our hotel concierge as authentic and reasonably priced. The place was as described a "hole in the wall" with absolutely no character. A bit dingy. Food tasted bland at best. Amongst things we ordered was "chicken larb". Never had this before but it sounded good. Wrooong. It smelled horrible, even from a mile away. We actually kept looking for where the rotten smell was coming from! Honestly I would have a PF Chang over this any day! Of course it's possible we just didn't get it. After we were done, though, I kept looking for strong black coffee and dark chocolate to cleanse my palate. Hoping the taste will be forgettable and very soon.

Fresh, hot and delicious authentic Thai food. Fast paced service... the place is always busy and is open until late night. Consistently good food.

We love this place! Stopped for lunch and it was packed. Efficient service, large portions and delicious! I always order the pad se ew and it never dissapoints. Pad thai is also great. Good thai coffee and tea. Everything we saw being served looked good. Good location behind Macy’s.

We had take out Phad Kee Mow and this dish was rocking !! Noodles were done perfectly and just the right amount of tomato, and bell peppers. It was a little on the spicey side but otherwise an excellent dish.

Perfect, authentic thai food, affordable prices. The restaurant was full with guests when we arrived, but we did't have to wait more than 5 minutes.Servers did their best.

I was happy to find a Thai restaurant open until 3am. However, my friend and I were extremely disappointed with the noodles. I ordered the Pad Kee Mao Gai and the flavor was wrong. All I tasted was a lot of white pepper and I didn't care for the texture of the noodles. My friend ordered a noodle soup which she didn't like. The good thing was that the food came out within a few minutes but I would have been willing to wait longer for food that tasted good.

Taste was not very good. We had five different dishes and not any one was satisfied. It seemed fresh though. Quite expensive

Food would absolutely amazing!! I had the #16 right above the paf kee mao. I forgot what it was called but it was delicious.

After seeing a review on Tripadvisor, we decided to give this place a try! So glad we did! The meal was so delicious we decided to go back another evening, and that time the meal was even better!

Cold and hungry in Union Square. Was feeling blessed to see KOTN "open" sign. Restaurant was near packed and was seated immediately. Midnight supper: 1. Tom yum vegetarian - disappointing soup stock. Tasted like canned or paste. Not tangy & no lemon grass flavor. 2. Papaya salad - excellently tasty. Good crunchy peanuts. 3. Rad Nah with pork - tasty gravy, well seared broad rice noodles. Good, BUT very SMALL portion. 4. Jasmine rice. Be warned: prices are steep for a restaurant of this caliber. Blame it on location and drunk businesses. Overall, service is quick, pleasant and attentive.

I have been to the King of Thai for over a decade. This time I am very surprised of the quality of your food. I ordered a portion of egg rolls and a chicken larb, not only expensive $35.02 but almost not edible, if you like some blend potato mash, yes potatoes, in a deep fried spring roll wrapper, then you found your place ! Disgusting for the price of $14.50 What has happened to your Thai kitchen ?

In town for business staying at the Hilton up the street. Needed to find something for lunch so I took a walk. Saw this place from across the street and figured I would give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised the food was excellent the waitress recommended number 17 and it did not disappoint.

King of Thai Noodle is a solid 3 restaurant with good Thai food within quick reach of Union Square shoppers. It's consistently good to average in flavor and ingredients with servers who are friendly but are not fluent in English. I recommend the Duck Noodle Soup, Pad Thai, Pad Kee Mao and Papaya Salad. They food is often heavily salted so request low salt and/or no msg if you're sensitive to it. Service is swift so it's a good option for shoppers who need to pop in for a quick meal.

You can have here the basics with a nice variety of choice. Decent price and good taste. You will love the noise feels just like Thailand

I got the chance to dine here in 2015 when I travelled to SF but missed sending my reviews then. I am now back here in San Francisco and got my cravings for King Of Thai Noodles again! For one, I love Thai food and the way they prepare it seems like a complex mix of ingredients with the right balance of spices. I've tasted a lot of Pad Thai in particular including that in Bangkok but I personally think this restaurant is giving more justice to how Pad Thais are. I love the food here. They taste more like the ones in Bangkok and the flavour is bursting in my mouth. The ambience if very casual and the food servers are really helpful. They deserve every tip you leave for them. PROS: - Delicious food - Great customer service - Food waiting time is definitely acceptable depending on the number of customers in the restaurant. I waited for my food for less than 15mins. - The ambience is casual which I like also. I don't think fancy restaurants appeal to me though. CONS: - Street parking may be your only option but you can park your cars around parking spaces/buildings in the area

I had Papaya salad and Pad Thai. Both were full of oil and had no special taste. Considering the low quality of the food, it was expensive.

This place is very crowded during our visit. Food quality is very good for Thai food. We ordered phad thai, our favorite Thai menu, Thai noodle with duck and clear soup. All taste very good. We enjoyed our lunch here even though the place is jam packed. Location is very central, beside Macy and near Union Square. Good place for Asian food in Union Square area.

Typical Thai food, friendly staff and quick service. The food was good taste was great an we enjoyed eating there.

The place is not very nice, but the food really good. Staff very helpful and nice. We had the pad thai and we really liked it. Recommended if you are at Union square and craving real thai food.

Good restaurant. Amount served was more than enough and food arrived quickly with complimentary water. For hungry customers it was perfect. Might be coming back to try some other dishes

Great selection of authentic Thai food, prompt service and reasonably priced. Certainly worth a visit.

Location was near union square. I ordered Pad See Ew with pricing of USD 13. Big portion too. Quite packed during lunch time. Service was quite fast

Most of the food looked very good and probably was. However I had the seafood soup and it was the most tasteless I have ever had. There were three shrimp, a couple of fishballs and some tofu looking pieces. I had to add soy sauce to get any kind of flavor. My colleague had a nice plate and it was tasty. Many other plates looked good but mine was not. The price was far too high for the area and the amount you got. I would probably find a place in Chinatown next time.

Went there to have lunch after a nice morning in the Union Square. Small, quick and clean place just a short walk from the Union Sq. Ordered vegetarian dishes that was pretty yummy and full of flavor. Budget friendly - was under $30 for 2 people. Recommended

Everytime we walked past it was super busy and once we tried the food we realised why. The food was delicious, authentic Thai food. Good service and very fast and fresh. Also quite cheap for the area. Meals were about $13-15 each and huge (couldn't finish 2 dishes between 2 people).

We had chicken pad thai and it was absolutely delicious. Would have loved to try more of their food, but was too full. We will be back for sure.

The food here is very good. Prepared well, plentiful portion size and tasty. The issue is the service. As others who have posted, the staff is a bit gruff and more like a factory floor than a restaurant. All that said, it's popular place (good sign) with lots of locals and the food is good.

We all ordered something different and shared everything. All the dishes were delicious! And the food came out very quickly.

It was hard to find reasonably priced places to dine in San Francisco, but this was one of them and it was amazing. The food was excellent and came large portion sizes. The service was quick and the restaurant was very clean with a very hip city vibe. I highly recommend this restaurant for Thai food lovers.

I have lived and worked in San Francisco for over 27 years. I'm quite familiar with a new Thai eateries new our office in South of Market and but my co-worker and I wanted to try a new Thai place. She somehow found King Of Thai Noodle from searching the internet and based on reviews. The place was packed but they were quick in turning around the tables. We were quickly seated and ordered 2 of the recommended dishes: pad thai and beef noodle soup. The food came out very quickly. The pad thai had good flavors but the shrimp were not deveined which was not acceptable. The beef noodle soup was average, the broth had a strong clove or cinnamon taste, almost overwhelming. The quality of the beef was my problem. Some of the pieces were very fatty or pure fat pieces. Overall, the price seems overpriced for a hole in a wall and the quality of the ingredients.

Stumbled on this Thai restaurant after a busy day of being a tourist. Very good food, quick service, but no ambience or comfort inside the restaurant. Feels like a canteen at a school. Very reasonably priced for the size and quality of the meal. Good location in Union Square.

I guess their specialty is noodles, like the name of the place. The soup was nice and flavourful. The noodles was good. I chose the small rice noodles. The slice beef and beef ball was just so so though. But overall, it was a nice meal.

I went in, waited, watched other customers walk in and get waited on and then I waited some more. Yeah, I normally like the food here, but at a certain point I have ask myself is the rude service worth it. My answer: Absolutely NOT! You ignore me, I ignore you. I will not return.

i got the chicken green curry, and it was quick and tasty. the place is crowded so i had to perch at a bar rather precariously, but nothing to complain about in a modestly priced pick me up after running around union square on a very warm day.

Was recommended by a ride share partner and I was not disappointed! I had the pad Thai and was halfway through before I thought about taking a picture. No frills, just good food!

As said on previous comment, you have a lot of people in room. I stayed at the back of it near cashier and restroom (I have been warned and they asked me if I was ok with it - a good thing). I got my meal after a few minutes and after having some stares to the manager (yes I was there waiting and I let them know). And it was really good! So if you can handle some mistakes on service (I had to make them understand that I wanted a dessert and not just have a plate and the check) you will certainly appreciate that moment.

Hotel concierge highly recommended this Thai restaurant and couldn't be happier. Casual, very reasonably priced but soooooo flavorful. Had the Pad See-Ew and loved it. Delicate noodles, cooked just right. Sweet soy sauce and just enough egg. Excellent service. Ordered more than I could eat but manager really went out of his way to make sure I was full not unsatisfied. Highly recommend this local restaurant and glad the hotel concierge suggested this place. Near Union Square.

Like a quick trip to Thailand, try this restaurant near the San Francisco Airport. Large noodle dishes, akaraoke bar, dark wooden interior makes this place worth visiting. Try a new dish or sometime yum soup

If you like Thai food you will love this place. The food and service was great, I would definitely go back. It was also quite reasonably priced. We had the Chicken Noodle Soup and Beef Panang Curry. The staff were very friendly.

Wife loves Thai food, me, not so much. But I drag her to enough breweries, I thought I would volunteer to eat here, King if Thai. Had the #16, Guay Tiaw Lord (mixed seafood w flat noodle in black soy sauce). Great dish, especially if you don’t like the pad Thai spice. Wife did enjoy her Pad Thai! Happy travels all!

Looked around for a good soup place. Found this place not far from the hotel. Wow, they are quick and the food was good.

This place is situated really close to Union Square, but has a very authentic vibe. We had the veggie Pad thai and a beef noodle soup, both were very tasty! Service was quick and friendly. Would definitely come back!

I can't say it was great, but it wasn't horrible either. It's great for a quick bite in Union Square however, and the service was excellent. I ordered the veggie green curry. It was super watery, but tasted okay. My partner ordered the shrimp Pad Thai, which strangely only came with 3 pieces of shrimp, and the tofu that was supposed to be in my curry instead. Probably wouldn't return there given the other amazing options in the area.

Well this used to be a restaurant with many locations around town, but this location was the main stay..... One can come here and enjoy a nice bowl of noodles for 8 bucks, quick service and ok Thai fast food. Well the owner got rid of all other locations and kept this one. Got himself a wig and jack up the prices..... All entrees are now 13 bucks and up.... For NOODLES!!!! Anything else is of course more expensive. I will have to head to the avenues for a cheaper option and hopefully better flavors, but i don't think i will patronize this location anymore..... Let the tourists pay for it..... Two bowls or soup came up to be over 30 bucks with tax and tip no drinks just water..... In my book that is just way too expensive!!!!

Having arrived in San Francisco several hours later than scheduled due to a flight delay we were struggling to get dinner. Our (very expensive) hotel could only come up with a bowl of chips so we ventured out and found King of Thai at 11.30pm. We were the only customers but were very pleased to get dinner at this hour. We had the red pork and green chicken curries and both were very tasty. The decor was for Halloween with a lot of spiders which I wasn't quite so keen on! The portions were very generous and the food came quickly.

I always get the same dish at Thai restaurants, which is what I would always get in Thailand. This place’s version of the pad kaprow is not perfectly authentic but still tasty. Unfortunately, the rice portion is huge while the rest is very small (maybe about s cup?!). For such a price I was expecting more.

Aside from a terrific location just off Union Square and late hours, this informal Thai noodle house delivers all you could ask for. Delicious food (I could eat the Kee Mao every day), friendly, efficient service from the charming Thai waitresses and super reasonable prices considering the location. Ate here twice in two days. It's places like this that make SF so special!

Fantastic Thai food! We had beef noodle soup, pad Thai, khao soi (chicken in yellow curry with noodles) and finally fried chicken on fried rice. All fantastic and fast and fresh! The prices on here must be old pre-pandemic prices so expect to pay more. Well worth it!

I had gone out to eat at Boudin, but they had closed by 8 pm, so I was HANGRY. This place was actually open later than the usual, and I just wanted food so I settled for the first thing I saw. THANK GOODNESS I FOUND THIS PLACE. It was amazing! They were so quickly attentive, and gave me my take-out so quickly! The food was steaming hot and packaged very practically so it didn’t spill! I ordered a flat noodle dish and I absolutely loved it! The serving size was huge and delicious, and I could barely eat it all. The setting seemed averagely loud, but still pleasant! Overall i recommend.

I came here before the dinner rush around 5:00 and we were seated immediately. The hostess was pleasant and served us water right after being seated. The menu is a bit disorganized with appetizers in the back and soups at the front. We ordered panang curry, Tom yum, and chicken satay. After placing our order the waiter told us that everything is served medium spicy or higher. The panang curry came out first before the appetizer which was a bit strange but whatever. The curry was delicious and not what I would consider medium spicy. It was fairly mild. The Tom yum soup on the other hand was quite spicy. So much so that I could eat it. It was pretty bland though with only chicken and a mushrooms in the broth. The chicken satay had a good flavor and the peanut sauce was delicious. This doesn’t come close to my favorite Thai spot on the city, Thai time in the Richmond, but it was decent enough that if I were in the area and craving Thai food I would come back.

Thai style fried rice is the best and it tastes like home. Other menu are very delicious. Noodles also one of my favorites. If you are looking for hometown taste you won't regret.

strategically located near the union square simple and casual Thai dishes worth to visit for fast meal

Had always come to this place everytime I came to SF and had the memory of having good pad thai. After Covid, I came with my husband so he could try. But was surprised that the taste had changed. Pad thai is too sweet, very sticky and soft. It is a disappointing experience. Will never come back.

Those who love Thai food I'm sure they know this place very well. In fact it's one of my favorite Thai restaurants. In spite of simple interior this place is always full and a queue. The meal is really delicious and prepared very fast. My favorite is Pad See-Ew Noodle with duck and Roasted Duck Noodle Soup. This place is very affordable and the plates are very big. Believe it or not but since my boyfriend introduced me this place I have been going there every week for the last several months and it is good as it gets.

I found the food to be delicious, fast friendly service. It's more chep & cheerful than high end dining, but if you want a quick tasty thai meal near union sq, this is the place

My family and I always get the curry here, it hits just the right level of spice. Kebabs are also pretty good in our experience.

This is a small but busy restaurant near Union Square. Come for the noodles as the Pad See Ew is great but they have other options, too. My spouse particularly liked the Pumpkin/Chicken curry. It's cheap and cheerful and I never saw it empty. Says it all, really.

Great place for a basic, but tasty and plentiful meal in a no-nonsense but friendly environment. Great valuse for money

Fantastic food. Just what I needed during my USA travels from the UK. Delicious and up there with the best I’ve had anywhere I’ve been.
Very good food!
Hubby and I always eat here at least twice during our twice yearly week long trips to San Francisco! The food is always good, hot and fresh and it never lets us down. We love the vegetable egg rolls, fried crisp with fresh vegetables and a very tasty plum sauce and the Pad Thai is always a winner. They really do give you a lot of food for the money so much so that we only order one entree to eat for the two of us and it is plenty. The service is always fast even when the place is packed. We will be going back to San Francisco in a few weeks and we can't wait to get our fix.
