Kitchen + Kocktails the ambiance was ok just ok… overrated to say the least. The food is really overpriced and I am not a cheap person. Each entree is a separate price. Kid you not if you order sides it’s a different price also. The lamb chops are an illusion from what you see on the website and the menu picture. Totally a disappointment for 33 dollars. The sides are small in portion each being between 11 and 12 dollars. Our waitress was nice … Sophia. It was an experience. Overall I will not be back.

Food preparation and presentation were excellent. Really friendly service and the drinks… must try the Gold Fashioned!!

RESERVATIONS DON’T MATTER. I absolutely WOULD NOT RECOMMEND this eatery. We arrived on time for a reservation for 15. Our party ended up being 13. We were told there needed to be an adjustment to our seating due to the number change, but they had no idea when we would seated. We were asked to wait outside. After much negotiation, they allowed three of our elderly guests to wait inside. And they gave them a cup of water. That was the best thing that happened. After that 30 minutes and more complaining, we were escorted upstairs to wait and was told we could order drinks which we didn’t want to do. We asked for complimentary appetizers while waiting and they gave us two appetizer plates. As we waited another 30 minutes, we continued to ask when our table would be ready. Each time we were told they didn’t know, or let me check and I’ll be back. No one ever came back. We watched as other parties (large and small who came after us) were seated. FINALLY after we decided to go to another restaurant, we were told they were working on our table. After waiting another 15 minutes we left.

This club posing as a restaurant is proud of their offerings. $11 for two pieces of cornbread.?!!! All al a carte entrees and sides ranging from $11 to your first born. No name chef and the food is just ok. They have no wine list - a rose that is horrible and a “sweet red” as described by the server and a champagne of some sort. The entire time the music was vulgar and LOUD - perfect for a dining experience . Will not be back

Was visiting Dallas and some good friends brought me to Kitchen + Cocktails for brunch...what a vibe!! The music was amazing, the food & drinks beyond delicious and the service outstanding considering how busy the restaurant was. A noteworthy mention of the lobster Mac & cheese - I CANNOT do justice to describing how great a dish this is. If you are in the DFW area do yourself a favour and try this place out.

This restaurant is not upscale enough to be listed on Resy. Went for Saturday brunch. The music was extremely loud and I could barely hear the person at my table. It took 30 minutes to receive our food. Never got the ice tea that I ordered. The food is over priced. It's the atmosphere of a club at night which is fine; however, it's not advertised that way. The pictures and description from the website is misleading. The only reason why I didn't give it a 1 star is because my date enjoyed the lamb chops.

My future wifey and I Ivory Marshall. Went here to have a dinner date night.. Reservation were at 6.30 had to wait 30 plus minutes. Our service was great.. Now here's the kicker.. send almost 300.00 . Paid for parking with the parking attendant. When we returned to our car. Back right window was broken and traveling things Gone..... With all the high end businesses and know security cameras. My future wifey wrote a review. Got a response from the Manager of kocktails and Kitchens. Saying sorry for the troubles we experienced. Also next time we are in town to reach out. We'll my future wifey did Now its been weeks and know response from the email we received. Now thinking is this an automatic email to customers and with know intent to make it better .Again why email without following thru.. Interesting way to do business.

My granddaughter and daughter treated me to dinner for my birthday Sunday, March 19, 2023 at 6pm. This was our reservation time. We were quickly seated , our orders were taken along with cocktails. We waited over an hour and had not received food or cocktails. I went to bar, requested the manager and he came to our booth/table about 10 minutes later. After talking with him, at that time we stated we no longer desire the cocktails we hadn't received. About another 10 minutes later our food arrived. A part of the chicken was under cooked. We notified the manager. He took that part of chicken and after another 15 minutes he return with 2 Wings stating he was providing an extra wing. And to add to this, even those were now way overcooked. No other compensation given or provided to us and the gratuity was/is automatically added to bill. I am guessing that this establishment no longer have the positive attitude that the owner spoke about in his viral YouTube video or this place is under new ownership with a "New Attitude" or making so much money that they don't care. For the money we spent we could have had better food and customer service at a fast food restaurant or any chain restaurant for a 4th of the cost. I have eaten at all types of restaurants, all price ranges and all types of environments. I would definitely not recommend this restaurant or returning to this place.

Early dinner at 4:30 … still quite busy. Be aware - very loud music and not the radio version. If you want to talk you will not be able to sit across from each other but next to each other and talk very loud. Would not take kids. More of a club scene. Service was poor, while the food came out quick part of our order was never given but was on the bill which took quite a long time to have removed. We never had our water refilled during the meal. Waitress just kept telling us she’d be back during whole dinner. Expensive … however we thought the food was fabulous. Chicken & waffles as well as lobster and the greens were delicious. Drinks were presented nicely but were straight liquid sugar! Would try again … for the food!

We went on a Friday night about 730 ish. When we pulled up it looked packed in the inside so we tried to make reservations and they were saying they were completely booked online. We parked in the parking lot across the street and walked up to the restaurant. They had security at the door but I guess it was just in case cuz he wasn’t I.D.‘ing anyone he was just sitting at the door. When we walked in it was full but not packed. We asked the hostess how long the wait was and she told me they only had bar seating at the moment. We found a seat at the bar and sat down. From what I could tell they had an upper level and a second side to the lower level. We were greeted by a bar tender who took our drink orders. I got the cotton candy drink my fiancé got a jack and coke. Then we ordered our food. I ordered the fried chicken he ordered the fish all the sides are a la carte at $11 a piece. When we got our food it was fresh. He enjoyed his fish and said his fries were like the little bottom pieces u get. My chicken was too salty and my Mac and cheese was ok I did not like the serving size for that price it was like the size of a little ice cream dish. Overall the vibe was good they had a live band and the crowd was cool nobody was acting a fool and we did have a good time.

This spot has HORRRRRIIIIBBBBLLLLE!!!!!! Customer service. You make a reservation at 8:30 and we are still standing outside at 9 along with many others outside in the rain.

Kitchen Kocktails is an overpriced, underperforming soul food restaurant in downtown Dallas, TX. The main problem with this place is the service, management, and ownership. It's a loud, bright atmosphere with no ambiance. They are money hungry and take advantage of the predominantly black patrons who frequent this establishment. The overpriced drinks, coupled with rude management, servers, and overpriced entrees are highway robbery. The inconsistent menu offering is a tactic to overcharge you for popular soul food items. You can only buy select popular menu items at certain times of the day - this is a tactic to overcharge you. I've eaten at real Soul food restaurants across the USA this one is NOT a must-visit. Pass on this one and try another location. I'm not a Dallas resident, but I'm sure there are many locations with better quality and service. We were a party of 7 they refused to add a chair to our table for the 8th guest. $400 later I'll never return to this place.

I do not recommend this place. CONS... #1. The web page gives a dress code. Everyone looked the total opposite. We could have worn our pajamas .#2 We had reservations and still had to wait. #3 When we were seated they pushed 3 round tables together. Had to lean over to eat on the nearest table because I was sitting in a gap.#4 It took 2 1/2hrs to get our food. # 5...2 pieces of chicken no sides $25.00 every thing is separate in other words. #6 You have no space Everyone is on top of each other #7 The staff is nice but not enough for the amount of people they attempt to pack in the building. #8 You pay $20 dollars to park across the street only to get your 2021 Scat Pack STOLEN 🙄🙄🙄 # 9 The area has a plethora of random homeless ( nothing against homeless people) hanging around and ppl who look like their waiting on you to slip up. .... Pros. #1The music is good. #2 The staff was pleasant but over worked in my opinion. In other words find you somewhere else to go with your family for a birthday celebration. The internet and reality are to different things. Trust me you can take pictures with flowers on the wall if you order a background from Amazon.. Not worth the money or.the trouble. Nevaa Again. 😤😤😤😤😤😤

I am from Houston and Kitchens + Kocktails Dallas reminds me of The Taste Bar. The food is absolutely delicious! The service Annie Grace provided was excellent! I would revisit when back in the Dallas area... The drinks were on point! The grits under the fried green tomatoes phenomenal! The fried chicken, lobster, lamb chops, short ribs, egg rolls, green dip, waffles, gumbo, lobster mac, greens, sweet potatoes, lobster bites EVERYTHING WAS SEASONED WELL AND TASTY!!

I am duty-bound to write a review about this place because I had such a fantastic experience! We were in Dallas for a work-related conference. The hotel food wasn’t that great, so we decided to venture further afield to find something nice to eat. Online, my colleague found Kitchen and Kocktails by Kevin Kelley. We thought we’d give it a go. When we first arrived (by Uber), it was hard to find the restaurant, which was not well signposted (the name is printed at the bottom of the window) but, when we found it and entered, we were warmly welcomed. The ambience of the place is amazing. Everyone was dressed for an evening out, and the people were happy and chatting away to each other. The music was upbeat and not so loud as to disturb conversation – which was really thoughtful. We were quickly seated and our hostess, Season, introduced herself. She turned out to be an absolute diamond: she was warm and friendly, knowledgeable, attentive, and funny. Many years ago, while I was visiting my parents in the Midwest, I ate “fried green tomatoes” (in honor of the movie of the same name). I loved them. I haven’t had them in over 25 years. I saw them on the menu and encouraged my colleague to try them, too. Oh my! They knocked the socks off the ones I have affectionately enshrined in my memory. These were perfect and absolutely delicious! Then Season cited some of the main entrees from the menu. We both decided to go for the short ribs. A hunk of meat, the size of my fist, came proudly sitting on a hill of mashed potatoes. I was sure there was a bone in the meat because of its size, but no – it was a solid hunk of meat. The meat was tender, melt-in-your-mouth yumminess, and the mashed potatoes were so creamy! Mmmm mmmm! It felt like grandma had cooked this meal especially for us. It was delectable. Finally, judging from the standard of the meal so far, we just had to try pudding. Again, we both decided on the same menu item: peach cobbler “a la mode”. I really wanted to eat it all but, because it was such a generous portion, I couldn’t finish mine. Much to my chagrin, it beat me! The whole meal felt as if it had been lovingly cooked by grandma... respect to the chefs: great job! What we ate was the epitome of “comfort food”. The quality was out of this world and worth every penny! Would I come back again? In a heartbeat! I cannot recommend this place highly enough and strongly suggest that, next time you are in Dallas, you give it a try. Ambience 10/10 Service: 10/10 Quality of food: 10/10 Value for money: 10/10

Let me start off with positives. Food was excellent, which most folks have posted about. Everyone in our party enjoyed their food. Parking was easy to find and was only $12. Nice Ambiance, friendly staff. I made reservations a week in advance for a party of 6. We were directed upstairs to the overflow room until table was available, which we table ended up being up there away from scenery and no DJ, no windows. Could have been a five star experience without the basement vibes upstairs. Food raised the rating over experience. Also host stated folks that were seated downstairs had paid reservations..however when you go on-site to make reservations that's not an option, and if it was I would've gladly done so. Keep in mind the venue is pricey so be prepared to spend at least $100 per person. Just an FYI. Same food at Miami vibes in Plano, less expensive and better reservation set-up, just not as big as this venue.

Great drink options and prices !! I loved the shrimp and grits as well as the greens and the devil eggs with shrimp i do feel devil egg mix (yellow part) could’ve def tasted better. CatFish was slightly crunchy ALMOST Too salty but good . Chicken was goooddd follow me for more detailed reviews and pictures on IG @tacaraaaa_ (4a’s)

Had family visiting, so we decided to try here for dinner, and we were not disappointed. The place was a bit crowded, but we were seated right away since we had a reservation. I had a really good Ole Fashion, but as and with their other drinks, they are a little pricey. Our waiter, David K, was really friendly and very helpful. He explained the menu, each entrée, and the drink choices. He did an excellent job. For an entrée I had the Jamaican Lamb Chops, and they had a great seasoning with a little Jamaican kick. They were very tender, and it was all I could do not to suck on the bones. We had a side of the lobster mac&Cheese, and it was great. There was plenty of lobster and a great balance of cheese. For an appetizer, we had the salmon bites, and they were really good, especially with the dipping sauce. Everyone in our party really enjoyed their meals a lot. We really enjoyed the atmosphere of the place and will definitely be back to try other items on the menu.

This was the best soul food I have had in a restaurant in a very long time! We all made sure to get something different and it was all good. The service was also good. The food and drinks are a little pricey, and the fried chicken is a la carte. However, I highly recommend.

My wife and myself with a few friends had dinner there 1/17/2026. In general my experience was negative. The restaurant seemed crowded and the music was too loud to hold a conversation without yelling. The advertised dress code was upscale. In my impression the dress definitely wasn't upscale. The food and drinks were over priced and in general not that good. Basically a 2 piece chicken was $20. My salmon was average at best. The mashed potatoes were watery and didn't taste good. Most people in our party weren't at all impressed with the. Food. I don't enjoy writing negative reviews but felt this experience warranted a negative review. None of the people in my party will be returning to the restaurant. It maybe good for others just not me

I thoroughly enjoyed my experience here, I came here alone for dinner and the vibes were awesome. I’d say the dress code is cute casual. I ordered the waffle (cinnamon infused) and chicken, the waffles were fluffy and sweet, and chicken was nice a crispy a little bit salty for my likening but nonetheless still great. Also ordered the fried pickle, which was ok. My server was Kaylah, she’s a vibe, loved her aura. Will definitely come here again.

More of a cocktail bar than a restaurant. The choice of dishes is small and massively overpriced: French Fries: $11. The cocktails, however, looked appealing.

My sister's and I visited during the Texans Vs the Cowboys weekend. We were greeted and seated quickly. Our waiter Millie took our orders and was the absolute BEST! He made sure to make recommendations and the food came out promptly. Needless to say, the food and service was EXCEPTIONAL!!!!! We will return the next time we are in Dallas, and I highly recommend the crab cake!!!!

The food was great. The service from the kitchen and bar was slow, slow, slow. It was our waitress not the kitchen or bar. We shared a Caesar salad with blackened salmon, fried green tomatoes, and fried okra. All were very good — particularly the tomatoes. Parking is excessive — $20 unless you are lucky.

The drinks did not disappoint great .. Cat fish fried chicken greens yams macaroni and cheese mashed potatoes and cornbread were all delicious. Our waitress was amazing very attentive. It’s a bit pricey we can get same meal in NYS for $35 our bill for 2 people was $270. Nice ambiance. My only gripe was if your going to be a stickler for the rules then you must also follow them, your website says you have a dress code I saw people in flip flops and basketball shorts which the website says you can’t wear.. You took alcohol from one plastic cup and put it in another plastic cup you actually wanted us to pay to take a $40 drink out the door. I get it rules are rules but follow ALL of them.

First off we made a reservation and wasn’t seated until 30 + minutes after said reservation. My family and I was lead upstairs to the top floor that we didn’t know existed. We was sat at a round table that was clearly to small for our party but was sat there anyway. We were finally able to get drinks than ordered appetizers. This process took forever, I think they forgot about us.We was able to order our food that was uncooked, I was given chicken that was raw on the inside!!Then all of a sudden while my family and I was eating, the room was being changed into a night club right before our eyes!!! I felt so dismissed and rushed that we all got our food to go, THIS WAS MY BIRTHDAY DINNER and I was very disappointed,

YOU HAVE TO VISIT!! This is the best restaurant. The food was amazing, the kick tails were amazing, the complimentary samples. This was a 10 out of 10. Our server Malik was amazing

I was very disappointed. It was a cold, busy Sunday evening. we were asked to wait in a basement/storage area for our table to be prepared. After waiting in the dark, damp storage area full of spare chairs and wall hangings- we were seated near the door that remained opened all night. We had to keep our coats on the entire time. Food took almost an hour and arrived cold; nothing special about the food except the inflated price. It's not worth the hype at all.

Yesterday was a so-so experience due to the level of service received. Our waiter was a trainee and had several difficulties. Four of us came for lunch this past Saturday. The food is tasty but over priced due to the portion size. We may at some point give them another chance.

Terrible customer service. We had a reservation at 2:30pm and did not get seated until 2:45-2:50p. Furthermore, once seated, we had to wait 30+ minutes before being able to order food and then the waiter gave an excuse that he got stuck helping in the kitchen, which to me as a customer is unacceptable. It is the responsibility of management to staff the restaurant properly so all customers are taken care of within reasonable time and what is the purpose of making a reservation if you cannot be seated promptly. That said, the food and atmosphere were both very good but a bit over priced in my opinion. As a first time visitor to the restaurant, it left a sour impression with me so I'm undecided on whether to give this establishment a second chance.

We had a reservation for 7:30. When we arrived there were at least 25 people standing outside in the rain They let no one inside and seating for your reservation was 45 minutes to an Hour behind . Unheard of ever

Food was basic and bland especially for the price point. A $200 bill for 2 entrees and 3 drinks is excessive for subpar “southern delicacies”. Drinks were good and service was superb hence the 2 stars, just overpriced and poor cooking. Their signature mac n cheese was so bad I had to send it back. Safe to say I will not be returning nor engaging in their other locations across the US.

We called in for our last meal in the US before catching a late international flight. The menu was extensive and the waiter extremely helpful . I'd never tried grits but I now love them after my meal of catfish and grits. A great way to remember our visit to Dallas

Maybe we should have just turned around when we opened the door and were assaulted by REALLY, REALLY, LOUD music. But we decided to have an open mind and give it a try. For a place with “Kocktails” in their name, we thought we could probably get whatever drinks we wanted. When my husband ordered a “skinny margarita” the server asked what kind of alcohol he’d like in that. He said, “um, tequila” and she asked, “would you like a lime?” To which he replied, “Never mind, bring me a vodka soda with lemon bitters.” She checked with the bar, no lemon bitters - so vodka soda with aromatic bitters. Okay. Then I asked for a Negroni. Server, “is that a beer?” Me, “no, it’s a cocktail.” Server returns, “the bar doesn’t have what it needs to make a Negroni.” Me, “okay, I’ll have the same as my husband.” The drink came and tasted pretty sweet, but, whatever… server returns with a shot glass full of vodka for my husband (???) and says to me, sorry, they put tequila in yours - takes my drink away and returns with another. Husband, “What is in this shot glass? Am I supposed to pour it in my drink, or…??” Server, “oh, you didn’t order a shot?” “No.” Server removes the shot glass. Then the food. We ordered fried green tomatoes as an appetizer and another appetizer, crab cakes, to have as our main course with a side Cesar salad. Not long after, a server came out with all our food at once. Appetizer vs main is a nuance the kitchen missed? No big deal, though. (Maybe the REALLY, REALLY, LOUD music interfered with our ability to communicate? Y’a think?) The tomatoes were on a bed of cheese grits with two lovely blackened grilled shrimp on top. Delicious. The shrimp was quite salty, but the dish overall was excellent. The crab cakes were generous and mostly meat. Cooked to perfection and served on a slather of spicy (not too spicy) red sauce. I could have done with more sauce, but again, excellent! The side cesar salad was overly swimmingly in dressing, but good nonetheless. The croutons were made from deep- fried cornbread which made for an interesting and palate-pleasing touch. We were a bit shocked by the tab - those so-so drinks were $15. Total tab: $175 after tax and tip. So, overall, would I recommend this place? Well…, yes, if you like REALLY, REALLY, LOUD R&B and order drinks from their menu, you’ll probably like it.

Atmosphere was great the staff was amazing and the food oh my goodness the portions were huge and very flavorful Aliya was amazing

Nice place to enjoy good food. Our server, Nefertiti was great. As this was my first time here she went over the menu, told us about the favorites on the menu, and was an all around great person. I had the catfish and grits with the fried lobster tail. I received 2 large pieces of catfish, which was very good and just a bit salty. The fried lobster tail was tasty. I had the key lime pie for dessert which was very good. My friend had the peach cobbler which was good, the downside was that they didn’t serve ice cream with it.

The ambiance was magnetic and very inviting from the hostess to the server. Great food and cocktails. The shrimp and grits w/lobster tail is a definite WINNER!

Very generous portions and great tastes. Service was very cordial. We had shrimp and grits and fish and grits with a fried green tomato appetizer.

The food was absolutely amazing! The vibe was on point! Drinks were prepared to perfection! Our waitress was kind and did a great job! The manager came by several times to check on us to making sure food and drinks were good!

A family member brought some food home from this place and it was pretty tasty therefore I decided to try it. My so called jerk chicken was half done. The candi yams were like in a container of syrup. I was in a hurry to get back to work and started to just leave but as I was leaving it was the new replacement food was finished. I just took the food and ate some and threw rest away. THIS IS MY FIRST AND LAST TIME EVER GOING HERE. Most upscale restaurants would have taken care of there customer. Not sure why folks keep going. I told my family members to never ever ask me to go there. A TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY ABD TIME.

Drake was fabulous! He made the night fun and was very helpful in helping us select food and drinks! Julian made amazing cocktails! My husband loves the gold fashion…he talks about it all the time. We come here as often as we can and Drake is the very best! Thanks to all our family at KK. Y’all are top notch! And you must try the fried cauliflower!!!! It’s amazing!!!

The food was tasty but overly priced. $11 for French fries was a bit much. The portions were very small for the sides esp. if you are paying an entree price. I couldn’t tell if this place wanted to be a club or a fine dining restaurant. The website stated a dress code was strictly enforced, but the dress code was a little relaxed when we arrived. I don’t see what the hype is about this restaurant. I felt like there could have been more options or at least some healthier options on the menu.
Good… not great.
Was visiting Dallas for a girls weekend and decided this would be a great choice. You can’t find proper southern cuisine at home. Had a reservation at 630 on a Saturday night. There were a few people waiting to get in but we were seated promptly. The menu has some delicious options. We started with a cocktail each… they were fine but if “kocktail” is in the name I would have expected more. This isn’t seasonal inventive cocktails. It is just a list.. judging by older reviews it doesn’t really change. For food we tried the shrimp and grits and the CF chicken. Both were reasonably good. A bit too liberal with the salt and I wish the mashed (served with chicken) was standard not garlic. I don’t know that I would return but if you are craving some tasty chicken this is going to tick the box.
