Chicago has a large population of Irish descent so you would expect to find decent Irish pubs, and Kitty O'Sheas meets that criteria. I will admit that I am an Irish pub snob, I travel to Ireland frequently and usually spend much of the summer there. They pour a good pint of Guinness as well as other Irish brews, which is hard to find in the States. They have 'not bad' trad music many nights. The have the décor, at least inside, of a pub. Outside, it is nice to sit outside, but it is not Irish décor. The food is good, reasonably Irish. I visited three times. They claim to have 100 Irish whiskeys available. They have some good ones, some not too good ones, and some that they might consider tossing out. Why? Because you need to finish a bottle within 18 months of opening it or it deteriorates, and I suspect some of their slow sellers are past that. I asked the bartender for some of the up and coming new whiskies that are all the rage in Dublin...like Method and Madness and Teelings Rum Cask, and they never heard of those. So I had a Jameson and ginger and it was good.

This place is crowded after Bears games or during conferences for a good reason. The fries are the best I've ever had. One of the best burgers is a patty of beef and two kinds of mushrooms. Very moist without a lot of fat! The soup is made in house and is delicious. Reasonably priced for a restaurant in a hotel.

I ate her twice because I was staying in the hotel. The first night I got a burger and it was awful along with the fries. They are not really fries. They are wedges like. The second time I got crab cakes. Okay I forgot I’m not on the coast. Those things were horrible. All breading. Not going back here in my returns.

Great atmosphere, a lot of energy and fun. The food was great & the service from Fransceca was phenomenal!

Hung out with some friends here while in Chicago. Typical bar and grill. A little loud and kind of crowded, but a fun place to chill.

Very friendly staff. Good quality food and not just typical Irish food is on the menu. Outdoor seating was popular

If you want good service, attentive and courteous and basic human decency don’t go here and go across the street to Grant Park Bistro! Yeah it’s a pub and fits with Chicago vibe but it’s a unorganized humid bar with a bunch of loud TVs, Save yourself the trip and money and go elsewhere

Located in the lobby floor of the Chicago Hilton, this restaurant was a convenient alternative to going outside after a long day traveling to get here, visiting museums, sightseeing or attending conferences. The prices were reasonable and the food was good, but not great. I had the fish one night and it was good, but a little salty. The restaurant staff was friendly and helpful. However, the restaurant does get very busy if there are conferences going on at the hotel, which there were during our stay. This wasn't a problem however, since we just ate most of our meals at the Herb N. Kitchen located on the same floor of the hotel.

Had the wings that were just spicy enough and delicious and the wife had pretzels which were very good too. Our server Brandon was very friendly and helpful with recommendations for places to go.

I came to this establishment as per recommended by my work colleague. When I came I was greeted by a young Irish guy (who was clearly high on drugs) But he then began picking and blowing at his nose and then proceed to grab our glasses by the rim. I requested a new glass but he would not give us one. When I asked to see the manager. He replied " I am the manager and laughed in our faces " he said is name was Zack of Jack I'm not sure My friends and I immediately left and were disappointed as we had been looking forward to a few drinks as i had been pregnant the last year

I went there because the bar in my hotel closed early and I wanted to have a nightcap. The Hilton was close by, so I went there. The place was crowded with conventioneers and was noisy.

Right on Michigan Ave., this place was a nice stop to enjoy a couple of pints. The inside was very nice and had a pub atmosphere. We liked sitting on the patio and enjoying the weather an people. Pints are a little on the high side, but comparable to other bars.

A fun authentic Irish Pub which has been here for 30 years. Lots of outside seating. Fabulous line up of beers. Food was excellent. Loved the Pan Seared Salmon w snow peas. The Raspberry Whiskey Bread Pudding is amazing. No substitute for the live Irish music.

Francesca goes above and beyond to make sure her customers are having a good time. Her upbeat attitude is contagious

Every once in a while my mom, cousins, aunts and I will do a little girls trip to the city. A few months ago in the spring we decided to go to Kitty O'Sheas because we heard they were going to have live Irish music. It wasn't too busy of a night so we were able to get seats on the middle of the bar area right by the band. The music was great and reminded us of our last time in Ireland. Our server, Mary, was very attentive and had such a fun personality! She really completed the whole experience. We love the ambiance and there were plenty of drink options. We didn't eat the food but the late night menu looked appealing. We will definitely make it a point to keep coming back whenever we stay downtown. Hopefully it'll be the same musicians every time and Mary will be our server!

The waiter said that they were known for their incredible fish and chips. Apparently they are known for how awful it is. It was dry and rubbery like it had been cooked a while earlier and then sat around. I have literally had better fish out of the frozen section of the grocery store. This was by far the worst fish I have ever had. The service was also mediocre. I ordered a side salad and they brought my food about 3 minutes after they delivered my salad. Nothing like letting rubbery fish getting cold and more rubbery. I would stay away from this place unless you are looking for drinks only.

Good choice for stopping in for a bite to eat. Food and drinks were good, reasonably priced and excellent service.

The service here is wonderful. The food was to die for albeit "bar food". We ate there three of the five nights we were there.

My wife and I don't drink so we usually don't visit any bars. But we were meeting out-of-town friends at the Hilton Chicago Hotel so we opted to see what Kitty O'Shea's is all about. Located in the Hilton Chicago at 720 South Michigan Avenue, Kitty O'Shea's is a traditional bar featuring Irish pub fare, beer, wine and live entertainment. It also has the largest whiskey collection in Chicago, features locally roasted coffee Sparrow, an outdoor porch overlooking Grant Park and one of the city's best brunches on Saturday and Sunday. Kitty O'Shea's, open from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. seven days a week, has been an Irish tradition for over 30 years. You gotta love their brunch. Start with Caraway pretzels with cheddar cheese, Banger corn dogs with stout mustard, Buffalo wings, potato leek soup, mac and cheese and Pub salad, which consists of fresh cheese curds, a chilled poached egg, cucumber, pickled cauliflower, tomatoes and buttermilk ranch dressing. Then comes time for the heavy lifting. Like the corned beef skillet with cabbage, red skin potatoes and fried egg. And fish and chips with North Atlantic cod hand-dipped in Smithwick's Irish ale tempura, fresh cut fries and old bay tartar sauce. And Shepherd's pie with minced beef stew, Wisconsin cheddar, onions, carrots, potatoes and herbs. Or four terrific sandwiches--the corned beef burger, roasted pulled pork, Atlantic cod and The Burger with Wisconsin cheddar, lettuce, tomato, onions and sauce on a sesame bun. Don't forget a side of bangers, Ireland's version of sausage links. With a meal like this, who needs dinner?

Why is it when you find a good place with good food and beer it so often turns out the service sucks. Wife and I Went in on Sunday around 2pm and it took 20 mins to just get someone to get to our table and get us a menu, after another 15 mins when no one had returned we just got up and left! It’s sad as this coukd be such a good place, but it’s yet another location where they have staff who just don’t understand service. They weren’t that busy, so it comes down to management, or lack thereof, yet again not watching and ensuring staff take care of customers rather than spend there time texting and checking social media Again this is a sad review because this could be a great place instead Of just another poor service location in Chicago

Had lunch at the bar two days when staying at the Hilton; while getting the bartender's attention took a couple minutes, she was attentive and very helpful once engaged. Thought the BLT was an excellent sandwich but thought the burger tasted a bit odd (don't know if it was meat or seasoning). As many people mention, the fries are unique and very good (thick potato with crunchy outside). Had nice selection of breakfast options on weekend brunch menu.

Dined here on a Sunday lunch time. Good was the Guinness draft was spot on excellent and they had several TVs on the football games. Service was not that good (perhaps short staffed?) and food quality wasn’t what one would expect for the price.

We’d walked for miles around the parks, Navy Pier and various other sights. We’d stopped off at the Chicago Hilton as this was a filming location for a famous film. We missed the Big Bus by minutes, so decided to have a couple of much deserved beers. There is loads of Irish paraphernalia around the bar. We have been in hundreds of similar themed bars and this measures up, pretty well. The whiskey range is extensive, although it was 3pm and a bit too early. It’s not the cheapest, but it is bang on for location.

We stopped by on our way back to our room after the BTS concert wanting a night cap. We came about 45 minutes before last call, and our initial waiter either had a bad day, or wasn't happy that we intended to eat something. He slammed the late night express menu down in front of us and stormed off; it was a little off putting. A spot opened up at the bar and moved so fortunately we didn't have to deal with him again. The blonde bartender and manager were both pleasant despite our intentions for a quick bite before closing. The pretzels and wings hit the spot and plenty of beer varieties. Every place has a bad egg here and there.

Spent an afternoon to early evening here. Centrally located and part of the adjoining hotel. Standard Irish pub decor. Very nice staff. Guinness wasn't bad. Good food options. Ticks the boxes if you need a break from outside. Downtown prices.

Good pub with a nice staff. Good selection of Irish Whiskey but very pricey. The food looked like typical pub fare on the American side. For a hotel pub it is very good but for a pub its avereage

I got Palmer Rolls… worse than Denny’s do not get! Expensive and terrible. Shepherds Pie deconstructed was good… I’d get again. Fish and Chips wife had… it was pretty good. There are better pubs… way way overpriced.

I had a specialty burger from the menu and their fries. The meal was a good experience. The server was prompt and attended to our table.

Stopped in for dessert after supper one evening and had a few drinks. Very laidback establishment, decent crowd. Great bartender with heavy Irish accent. Unfortunately we did not try any food but all the dishes that passed us looked good indeed.

Great service. Great bourbon old fashioned. Outdoor seating is nice with a breezy evening sunset. Okay— let’s get to the deconstructed shepherds pie. It is in pieces artfully assembles on a plate. Beautiful, but get an appetizer because it is a small assortment of items. Delicious—yes. Kitty’s BLT was YUMMY, but the cheese was unnecessary. Sriracha fries were wonderful— not too spicy but enough zing. And the pickle on the side was perfect.

Great time at Kitty O'Sheas service was always friendly. The manager even came out and spoke to us. We had a great time. I recommend Two Gingers Irish Whiskey. Food is good and the atmosphere is great!!

Dirty, old, and under-staffed. Kittys might have good once, but it’s way past it’s prime. The bar and dining areas need a good scrubbing, and I didn’t even see the kitchen. The food was fair, but it took forever to get served, and there was only a few people there.

A quick dinner in this pub by the Hilton. I had a typical pie and a beer. It was okay, nothing extraordinary. Good service.

This food was OK, I wasn't that impressed. I had a kale salad with chicken. There was a sunny side up egg on it which was weird. I did eat the potato soup which was really good. Bacon was all over everything lol

We stopped in here to rest our feet from sightseeing and have a drink to regroup. Service was great and drinks were too.

We ate dinner at Kitty O’Sheas and were pleasantly surprised by the great food. The ricotta cheese and hummus was a tasty starter. The potato soup was excellent and we finished with the recommended dessert of bread pudding - also excellent. Although busy and loud, it is a pub so don’t let that turn you away. Would recommend this place!

I ate here two days ago. The ambience of the restaurant is top notch, already placed in a corner of a beautiful hotel, and rich with the same old world charm of the Hilton Chicago. There was a good variety of offerings for beer, and the place had a seat-yourself policy. Even so, service was quick and prompt. I ordered the Flatiron Steak, expecting that at a USD$25 offering, that the plate would be more or less substantial (read, at least a full cut of steak) and that it would be enough to put be over until breakfast the next morning. I received for my money six thin slices totaling maybe... 3, or 4 ounces. This was paired with three thin center-cuts of sweet potato, and about 3 to 4 halved brussel spouts. Bill with a single beer was about 37 dollars. Compared to a nearby restaurant which for 12 dollars gave me a pizza that fed me for two meals, the service and the ambience is nowhere near the price of a meal when portions are as lackluster as they are. The meal quality was decent, but I would not consider it an offset to everything else. Go for drinks, miss the food.

You might find cheaper prices at a local neighborhood Irish pub--- But you won't find a better value this close to Grant Park (10 minutes walk) or the lakefront (15-20 minutes)... Want wine..? Limited selection--- They specialize in Cocktails, Beer and a LARGE selection of whiskeys…! Great Sandwiches, with delicious, twisted wedge fries. I am normally a poultry/fish guy, but was Not up for the their wonderful, traditional (fried) fish & chips. However, I LOVED the tender, juicy Beef Short Rib, with grilled vegetables (Yes, I was Low-Carbing!). Housed in the historic (and famous) Hilton Chicago--- It is nice pub atmosphere, with booth, regular table, high stool/table, indoor and sidewalk seating. Kids menu for families. And you can always exit, via the hotel, and swing by the Herb-N-Kitchen for grab-n-go snacks, fruit, ice cream etc. for dessert--- if you decide Not to try the pub’s bread pudding or other after-dinner treats…

Enjoyed the history and ambience of this bar inside the Hilton Chicago. A bit pricey on their drinks, but they've got you at the hotel, right? No wondering Chicago looking for a drink. Didn't eat here so I can't comment on that.

Don’t go here for dinner. Their $38 cast iron steak is worse than iHop’s. Served with fried onion rings. The steak is a small thin cut. Their Atlantic salon came raw in the middle. The food leaves a lot to be desired. At best it’s way subpar for the qualify. For the price it’s wag overpriced. The only thing positive is the servers are friendly. I don’t hold it against them. They just work there.

We were looking for someplace to have dessert and remembered seeing this place earlier. The dessert (bread pudding) was good, but you have to like loud Irish music to enjoy the experience.

I had some time for lunch and was going out to a very nice restaurant a couple of blocks from the hotel, but it started to rain really hard, so I stayed and dropped in to Kitty O'Shea. Very plain, it has a central bar, some high tables on the side with stools and a couple of additional dining areas on the periphery. The decor is all about Ireland, with poster, photos and banners. Service is friendly and unsophisticated. Bare bar tables, no tablecloth, no amenities on the table. The lunch menu is very basic, a couple of soups, a few burgers, fish and chips and shepherd pie. I ordered a clam chowder and fish and chips: the chowder was thick and had lots of solids, but was as bland and plain as can be. The fish and chips, the same: the cod was very plain, as were the chips. I had to add salt and pepper, although in recent years I had seldom used a salt shaker in a restaurant. This is the type of restaurant you expect to find in a budget hotel.

I started with a Guinness which was great. I decided to go to a close location and was in the mood for fish and chips. The fish was average. I really expected that it would be much better. I think I might have got a bad batch. The fries were very good.

Like most hotel bars the service was marginal at best. No one there is going to be a customer after they leave the hotel and the staff responds accordingly. There is absolutely no effort to check on you or your order. Don’t ask for something as simple as more ketchup, you will never get it. On to the food, this was probably the worst corned beef sandwich I have ever had in my life. My coworker asked if I was biting into a beef jerkey sandwich. If it hadn’t taken so long to get it to begin with I would have sent it back.

Kitty O'Sheas is located inside the Hilton Chicago. It's always a busy place because the food is good and staff friendly. We felt the staff were family because were so welcomed. We enjoyed the Fish and Chips, Shepherd Pie, and the wonderful bread pudding. My husband is a bread pudding expert, and it met his approval. Gained 5 pounds eating here! :D

Location was the key here, very convenient when staying in the hotel to visit. I ordered a burger and fries and they were good. The drink selection was plentiful. The only complaint is the place was PACKED before the Bears game and seating was at a premium! The service speed was decent even though they were very busy. I would visit here again if staying at the Hilton but likely not go out of my way otherwise.

The atmosphere was festive and the food was exactly what you look for in a pub. The service was friendly. Huge whiskey selection and Guinness on tap. What more do you need?!?

Visitor this restaurant twice while staying at the Hilton. Food was incredible both times however the service the second time was amazing. Kimberly C. was fast efficient and friendly. Restuarant was busy and she never kept us waiting and always has a smile on her face.

We had a great breakfast there. I had the short ribs and grits which was fantastic. They have great food!

This restaurant is in the Chicago Hilton. The food was excellent and not overpriced. The service was excellent and there were many Irish beers on tap. It was rather small but there was not a long wait for a table. Not sure it would be good for parties larger than 4.

Weekend brunch menu offers many choices from lox and bagels to steel cut oats, eggs your way, avocado bagel and sandwiches. The prices are reasonable for Chicago, friendly service and quiet. (It’s a loud, rocking place in the evenings). Tamicha, our server, was friendly and helpful. There are not many choices for breakfast on a rainy Sunday on this end of Michigan Ave. For those who don’t have “buffet size appetites” this is s better option than the Hilton’s breakfast buffet. Kittys is in the hotel.

Basically, Kitty O'Sheas is an Irish theme pub. And, it does a very good job of filling this bill. But, it is much more than that. To describe this business, what you will find is a whole lot of people throwing back a whole lot of alcohol. Pretty much all around the place you'll see people coming to talk about sports, coming from their business meetings, coming just to come here, coming to have a drink. Thus, the drinks do flow. But, there is another side of this business. That side is they have a very good menu of Irish influence dishes. Specifically, I think they do a really great job on their shepherds pie. Check it out if you have the chance. In terms of seating, and the generalized atmosphere, what you will find here is a business broken up into various sections. Each of these sections is lined with bar-stools and there are a few tables. Plus, just a couple of booths. If you're lucky enough to grab one of those booths, like I was at my last visit, feel very blessed, because you can really sit back and enjoy the ambience, the atmosphere, the food, and the drink. In the evening, they have a singer belting out Irish themed tunes. I don't know, that stuff kind of drives me nuts. Maybe you love that. But, for me, it's just one step above karaoke. This is no insult to the singer. As I am sure is a true musical craftsman. But, it's just not my cup of tea. So, I try to come in a bit earlier before the singing begins. Other than that, this place is a must visit along the Chicago/Lake Michigan shoreline. In terms of location, this pub is housed in a corner spot at the Hilton Chicago. So, it's very easy to find. If you're looking for Guinness, Irish whiskey, or a plethora of other drinks. Or, you wanna grab some really good Irish influence food. I recommend you check this place out.

There was a little bit of rain in Chicago we popped into Kitty's they have a corned beef sandwich the food was fantastic music great and it kept us dry and/or signature bloody Mary's are out of this world

I ate there in my first night in.... the atmosphere was typical Irish pub, dark wood, low lighting. I sat at the bar, the bartender was attentive and helpful, recommended the corned beef sandwich which was yummy! I had a Flight of whiskey to try some new labels and all were delicious (but not cheap thou I did get the higher end brands.) Overall, a lovely night!

The special burger that was their entry in a James Beard burger competition is delicious. It is beef blended with several varieties of mushrooms...yummy! Our waitress Francesca was great! She gave good suggestions drinks, entree and dessert.

one of the best corned beef sandwiches ever, and that includes NYC. Our service was excellent and our server Mario deserves a commendation. Great brews and views.

First Floor or Chicago Hilton, On Michigan Avenue. Multiple monitors cover sports programs live and on tape. Large menu of beers ales and stout. Good selection of scotch and irish spirits. Well priced. Decent menu of steaks chops and seafood. Really good french fries--thick and meaty. Helpful waitresses.

Came here with colleagues for drinks after work. I placed an order for food and 45 mins later after patiently waiting and seeing that other people that came after me were eating I inquired about my food. Not only was I treated rudely by the bartender but unfortunately they responded like it was my fault that they failed to deliver my food in a timely manner. I was told that the kitchen was really busy and I needed to be patient and wait. When I decided to cancel my food order due to the delay I was met with huge resistance and pretty much told that the entree was on its way all of the sudden. I stood my ground and said “no, I don’t want it and please cancel my order” and again the bartender resisted to cancel my order. Extremely frustrated by their unpleasant and unprofessional behavior I raised my voice to the bartender and now I was threatened with the police. It was such embarrassing and infuriating situation that my colleagues had to step in and convinced the bartender to cancel the order. I was offered a free meal after a hostess got involved but I declined it and paid my 1 drink tab and left. I will not be returning to your establishment again nor I would recommend it after the way I was treated. It’s a shame that one employee ruined the good work of all the other great staff members that work there. I will look for another pub to give my business to when in the area again.

We had lunch and were not disappointed. The pub has an authentic Irish feel and the food came out quickly and hot. If you leave here hungry it is your own fault. The Buffalo wings were great, not too spicy but they get your attention. Great selection of beer and ales, don't miss this gem

Sat at the bar. Had the lamb stew and a gin rickey. Food was ok, but lamb was over cooked. First part of the service was good. Server was attentive. Then she left. Shift must have been done. The guy who I guess replaced her barely came over. Didn't ask if I wanted dessert after I said I didn't want another drink and then brought the check. Didn't even get a chance to tell him not to close the tab yet.

Checked into the Hilton in Chicago at 11pm and this place was right downstairs. I was glad they were open late. I had the Corned beef sandwich and fries, it was good but I wouldn’t go out of my way to try this place again. The cider on tap was really good. If you check into the hotel late night and need something to eat without having to find someplace else that is open, this is a good choice.

We stopped here for drinks and bar food. Expectations were low since it's a hotel bar but it was great. The Kitty's Old Fashioned will blow your socks off!!

Fish and chips is what we had. Average in my opinion. Our server was the best. She gave us all sorts of advice on want to do on Chicago. Nice bar to stop into if staying at hotel.

Went with friends and we all enjoyed our meals. The fish & chips were full of fish, light on batter and oh so good. We sat at the bar and the Irish barmen were good company with quick service. Nice local spot for a hotel restaurant/bar and we met a lot of locals who enjoy the place too. Good sign. The bread pudding dessert was also reallllly good too.

Amazing Cheesecake, whip cream & caramel. Fish & Chips with tartar sauce 🔥🔥. Wings, Lobster Roll is a must try! A pleasant surprise!

Met for drinks and appetizers before heading out. Waitress was friendly and funny ...the food was average, drinks pricey. Head over to Buddy guys happy hour...

Casual dining with exception good American/ Irish pub food. Friendly service, good pub atmosphere with booths and tables under low lighting, some street view tables., full bar, a little pricey as is normal for central big city restaurants. Located In the luxury Hilton Chicago, at Grant park , a good spot for lunch and dinner before or after visiting the Chicago Art Institute or the Field Museum (each about 5 blocks easy walking distance). Garage parking in area and valet parking available at the Hilton entrance. They have piped in music which I find interferes with conversation. But they lowered the volume for me. Restaurant primary serves the guests at the Hilton but if your in area for the day it’s a good place to grab a drink or food without fuss.

Took my family to Kitty's - great food. Nice to sit outside. The service was very good. Would recommend to anyone visiting that part of the city.

My wife and stopped into Kitty O’Shea’s for a mid-afternoon libation. Although supposedly fashioned after a real Irish pub, the ambiance just isn’t there. The server acted as though she was doing us a favor by taking our order. So long story short, server with an attitude, mediocre ambiance, two shots of Jameson, two black and tans, one Pepsi, one order of curly fries, and a polite fifteen percent gratuity left me $70.00 less in my wallet. The money isn’t the issue. What was received paled in comparison to the ambiance and service. I anticipated and expected more from an establishment domiciled in a Hilton property.

This Irish Pub is located inside the Hilton on Michagsn Ave. South Loop. Wooden tables, Irish beer flowing and the food is delicious. I have their corn beef sandwich every time I go. It is a bit pricey but it’s inside a hotel, and all the Hilton’s restaurants at that location are over priced. Overall, great casual pub.

Good location. Besides that, the service is poor and slow. Had to wait 10 mins to be approached by a waitress, and then 10 minutes waiting for the change when I paid. And there weren't a lot of people inside. The food is ok, just ok, and overpriced for what it is.

Good food and service! Nice environment, sports bar. relatively relaxed atmosphere. Outside seating available

Every time we are at the Hilton we always go and spend some time at Kitty's eating and drinking. Great service and food and drinks.

Kitty's is located in Hilton Chicago hotel. Decided to order food and bring it back to my room. tried the loaded potato soup and a chicken sandwich with amazing beer infused sidewinder fries. My only complaint? When I finished it... there was no more to eat! highly recommend

We went on a busy Saturday for an early dinner...was only around 5pm and it was packed. Food was fine, service was pretty terrible. Our server was clearly busy, but spoke to us like she was absolutely miserable and got our orders wrong. When I told her it wasn't what I ordered, she ignored me and walked away...even though I'm pretty sure she heard me. Try to give a break to people who are clearly busy and understaffed, but still don't think it's acceptable to be rude.

Had both food and drink in here while staying at the Hilton, staff very efficient and prices typical of Chicago. Can get very bust at times and you might struggle to get a seat. Worth popping in though.

Overall a very good experience. The restaurant and patio area was a little slow but the service was spot on and the food was good. Portion size was good and the food flavorful. Overall I would return again.

...alarmingly casual service. It is unsanitary to serve a customers drink with your hand on the lip of the glass. The menu is deceiving with the preparation and ingredients in the items delivered to the table. I don't suggest ordering the over priced, long past it's prime cheap wine.

We were in the Hilton Chicago for a meeting and this was a convenient place for lunch. Very nice ambiance done in the decor of an Irish Pub. Food and service were very good. We had the fish and chips and the corn beef sandwich. Both were excellent.

An amazing spot for an Irish pub experience with incredible service. A must visit if you are near Hilton Chicago! Would recommend grabbing a Half and Half or a Guinness and enjoying a break on your Chicago trip.

Nice laid back place to have a good beer and food. On weekends there is Irish music. Lots of fun, and if you are staying in the hotel you have a short walk to your room. Good staff and food.

Excellent service and food. Great location. Fair price. We loved eating outdoors. Fabulous bread pudding.

During a recent hotel stay in Chicago, we ordered takeout food from Kitty O’Shea’s. Ordering the food was easy, but when I arrived there the staff seemed confused about the fact that I was picking up food. After a bartender went back to the kitchen for guidance, the server who came out was very friendly and delivered our order immediately. My wife ordered a salad, which was adequate in size but not particularly good. The Reuben I ordered was a decent size, but the corned beef was unexpectedly tough and lacking in flavor.

Good affordable food and big selection of drinks especially Irish whiskey. Fits perfectly definition of the convenient popular bar among of the hotel's guests.

there is a decent bar and lots of seating. the food choices are what you would typically find at an irish bar. food quality is 4/10

The drinks and curly french fries are excellent. Also, the fish & chips are good. The Corned Beef is a bit dry -- just needs some fat. Location is good, right on Michigan Ave just North of the museums. Service okay -- could be a bit more attentive. I would only return if I happen to be in the area and am hungry; I would not make a special trip back as it was just ok, nothing great.

Really really good selection of Irish whiskey; Appetizers were great. Service could have been a bit better at times, but overall was effective. Can't beat the location if staying in the hotel or working nearby.

Had the fish and chips of course in this pub. They were good. Not outstanding and the service was a bit slow. But I would go back.

Was here on business, got to hotel late, so stopped in for a quick bite. It was the best fish sandwich I have ever had - the sauce on the fish was delicious. Chips on the side were the same you can get anywhere. Fun atmosphere!

We stopped here for an early dinner on our arrival in Chicago. I had the Fish & Chips and my wife had the Boneless Spare Rib Shepherds Pie. Both dishes were tasty and nicely prepared. The Shepherds Pie was the more interesting fish visually, as it was a deconstructed version of the traditional dish. The infuser of malt vinegar that came with the Fish & Chips seemed a little gimmicky, but didn’t really detract from the dish. Service was good, too.

I've been going to Kitty's for years, and it is, quite simply, the best, most welcoming place you'll find in Chicago. The food and drink are excellent, the vibe is upbeat Irish, and the staff is smart, experienced, attentive, and just plain fun. I could not recommend Kitty's more highly. It's the Chicago version of Cheers, and once you go, you'll end up coming back often, as I have.

Charming atmosphere and wonderful service from Kimberly C. In fact, enjoyed the experience for an early supper so much, we returned to sample more of the cuisine for lunch the next day. Kimberly C. is a delight and so personable - a friend away from home to provide recommendations!

Surprised at food quality and taste! Little pricey but is is Chicago! Service was marginal and a tad slow but food was good! Would go again

This is an Irish Pub inside the Chicago Hilton. With the low ceilings, I bet it would get very loud if crowded. Food was OK, service was OK.

The cornedbeef sandwich was delicious as was the potato soup. However, the Kitty's BLT was over grilled and the bacon was also over cooked. The chocolate bread pudding was ok but I was disappointed with the very small dollop of coffee icecream on top.

The atmosphere is very much like a Ireland pub. Great selection of beer. Loved the corn beef sandwich. Tasty!

Just stopped in for a quick drink before heading off to the hotel for the night. The place looked old-timey a little and that's what I'm interested in, places with character. Because it was very chilly inside, I ordered some hot tea. My friends had beer and an old-fashioned. The place was pretty empty, and our server was friendly and attentive. No complaints, but nothing would make me go out of my way to come back again.

Margaret was my lady at the bar. In two twos there was a light Guinness in front of me and shortly thereafter a plane of fish and chips. Just what I needed after a chilly walk with granddaughter and Misses to the Bean on a cold day

I was so happy to hear live Irish music coming from this venue. I found myself a seat promptly and enjoyed the show, along with some late night fare and a beverage. Fun, friendly atmosphere and a HUGE variety of Irish Whisky.

This was our third stay at the Chicago Hilton, so we have eaten at Kitty O'Shea's before. It used to be good. Not anymore. We at there for dinner twice, and both times the food was average to poor. Ordered the pretzels for an an appetizer and they were basically tasteless, but the sauce helped. The chicken I had was okay, but drowned in sauce. It also had quite a bit of gristle or chewy parts that were inedible. We are there again after a long day sightseeing in Chicago. I got a hamburger, but that was a mistake. I am not sure what kind of frozen meat they used, but it was extremely average bordering on poor. The french fries were good, though. The service was slow. It wasn't crowded either night we ate there, so I'm not sure what the problem was. I thought the menu was much more limited than in the past. Also, the desserts are all odd. If you like whiskey, they're probably up your alley as every dessert had a whiskey sauce. Not everyone likes that. So, word to the wise. Get in a cab and go somewhere else. Kitty O'Shea's is disappointing. It's also quite expensive for what you get.

We’ve been to Kitty’s many times before in fact we stopped in for a couple drinks Saturday and then again for a bite on Sunday. Great atmosphere fun people and good service usually. Tonight the shepherds pie was cold and the service was minimal.

Kitty O’Sheas is situated on the ground floor of the Hilton Chicago on South Michigan Avenue in the South Loop area of the city. As Hilton residents we used it on several occasions during our trip and enjoyed the friendly service and nice ambience. I liked the choice of ales available especially Fat Tire from Colorado at $11 a go. We did not eat here but the choice on the menu looked reasonable. The bar closes at 1 am each day.

Yummy french toast, decent coffee, and lovely patio seating. Service was fine though we did have to ask for refills of coffee. My eggs were rubbery, cold, and flavorless. Seating was fast, so it seems like a good place to go if you’re in a hurry.

After a 2.5 hour drive from Indiana and a 4 hour visit to the Museum of Science and Industry, we were ready for a great meal close to the hotel. Decided on Kitty O’Shea’s for the great selection of food and drinks and a friendly kids menu. The fish and chips was arguably the best I’ve ever had, my wife had the salmon. The drinks were comfortably strong and the kids Mac n cheese was better than any adult recipe in any hotel. Mario Vargas was our server. He was incredibly helpful, he even asked if he make one of our Twin boys who was battling a low grade fever more comfortable. He brought cookies for the boys and of course was prompt but not pushy. A firm handshake goes a long way these days. Grateful for his service and gratitude as well as some of the best food we’ve had in Chicago, which is saying an awful lot. Wonderful location and just an overall great meal. Thanks again, our compliments to the chef and bar staff and my man Mario.

This is located in the Hilton and is exactly what you would expect, very mediocre food, cold beer and open late. I was staying at the hotel across the street and their restaurant was closed, so I went here. I had a deep dish pizza, which was absolutely fine, but nothing special. I would go back again if I had to, but not a place I would choose to go.

We went down for a small bite to eat after arriving into Chicago late evening. The service was great and the small plates we got to share were really delicious. This publ is located within the Hotel Chicago so we didn't have to go outside and weather the cold evening. The bar was flowing every night we were there. A lovely area outside to sit also when the weather gets better.

My son and I were in Chicago for a long weekend to attend Tyler Perry's Madea Road Show. We were in a time crunch to eat dinner on a Friday night and get to the show. As an after thought, we decided to try this place in our hotel. Just wow! It definitely exceeded our expectations. The atmosphere is very pub-like. My son and I both ordered the seared salmon, with was placed on a bed of lentils. It is one of the best salmon meals I've ever had. While, given our time constraints, we were willing to sit at the bar, we were able to land a booth. We had great service as well and got to the show in plenty of time.

Kitty O’Sheas has some great Irish brews and music you don’t hear in many other places. Nice looking place with friendly staff.

I was in town for Soxfest 2018, and wanted to get something to eat whilst having a break from a busy day. So as this restaurant was on the grounds of Hilton Chicago, it made sense to get food. Decent enough bar, Irish themed. Only had the fried chicken with pancakes. Had 6 small pancakes and 1 piece of fried chicken. The pancakes were good, and the chicken was also good. Had 2 coronas and this, whilst watching the College basketball. Server was great, friendly and prompt. Food was good, but wouldn't rush back as there are so many better places in Chicago, but it served a purpose for my requirements.

I had some wings and a burger. Both were next to awful. The wings were stale and dry, the sauce tasteless, and the burger was one of the most tasteless ones I have ever had and it was indigestible - 5 hours later it felt like I had just eaten it. The only bright side was the service which was very good.

Huge place, great beer and whisky selections. It was located off of my hotel but in the future, when I'm in Chicago, I'll make a point of coming back.

Stayed at the Chicago Hilton and went for a couple of drinks with my colleague. Cool vibe, Irish themed pub. Food menu is available, I did not eat myself but what was being served to other guests looked mighty delicious!

Bartender was soooo great, and the drinks were great. We went for brunch and food was underwhelming. Bourbon bacon option was next to know food, and corned beef hash was deep fried pastrami with eggs. Overall brunch wasnt great. I would go back to drink there Snd get drunk but skip the brunch.

This is a very good place to have some of the best Irish Whiskey to be found anywhere. The service was great and the food very good and not too pricey for the area.

Irish-themed restaurant in the Hilton Chicago. The food was good, if a little pricey. They have music some nights

I recently ate dinner at Kitty O’Sheas. I was extremely impressed with the Baked Potato Soup and their house Burger. The service was top notch with drink refills coming more quickly than most places. Nice atmosphere as well

Cold Food. The service was good but my food was cold. It came out quickly so I’m not sure why. Not much to say positibevhete

If you are a beer drinker, this is a heaven for you; more choices than you ever want. Excellent choices of salads, burgers. I would recommend the mushroom burger (30 % mushroom), you are eating healthy and not missing a thing!

Let me tell you!!!! This place rocks! The staff is friendly and they are very attentive especially Kate. She rocks! I stopped in after a long day of working. I had the corned beef sandwich with a side salad. Kate recommended this dish and I just admit she was in point. She’s very engaging so you can’t go wrong when you sit at the bar. The sandwich will make you slap yo momma. It was cooked to perfection. They give you some type of sauce that goes with it and that just took me over the edge. I actually thought about licking the plate just to get all of the secret sauce that came with the sandwich. The adult beverages are excellent as well. They have a HUGE selection and variety. I certainly will be back next time I’m in Chicago. You all should stop by especially to see Kate and when you do tell em Drew sent ya! Y’all Be Easy!!! Drew✌🏾

I had two pints and a salad when I arrived at Hilton Chicago. The service was good and friendly but I was a bit surprised for the prices: 8 USD for a Stella pint and 12 USD for the salad. Plus taxes and tips of course. As this is in central location and in the hotel lobby, this might be reasonable, but felt a bit overpriced. Remember to have your ID!

Very good Irish pub attached to the Chicago Hilton and near Soldier field. Was in two nights the first night service was slow.’seemed like to few bar staff and too many customers. That said good pub with good beer selection. Second night was late on Friday and they had plenty of staff on for the night so easy to order and get served. Good Guinness. All in all a good pub

Stopped in after "Hamilton on a quiet Tuesday night. Staff made me feel at home as they prepared a takeout order of fish n chips. All was fresh, not greasy, and well-packed with condiments, utensils, etc. Will stop in soon to try the full menu.

Upon taking I seat at the bar I was greeted by Kate, who was a delight to talk with and a fountain of knowledge. She recommended the James Beard Burger that blends beef, shiitake and portobello mushrooms together for the patty that was simply amazing. She also recommended the Blacksmith to go with the burger which is a 50-50 mix of Smithwick’s & Guinness. The pairing was perfect. Thanks for the great recommendation Kate! The other bartenders, Ronan and Richie, were great too. They made sure I never had an empty pint which I greatly appreciated. I am already looking forward to my return visit!

Was in Chicago for Ireland vs All Bla ks. Couldnt beieve the price of Guinness here ~$15 a pint. Ridculous price. Skip it and go to Fado for better pint that is more reasonably priced.

Casual and relatively quick lunch in between stops on our itinerary. Food and service were good. I would definitely return.

We had a few beers here after conference. Waited on immediately, gave good advice for someone who wanted to try a new beer. Food looked like typically bar food, however large servings. Would recommend and return.

We decided to eat here because it was downstairs in our hotel. After walking around all day and 2 hungry kids, we wanted something close. They did not disappoint! The staff was very friendly, and we were seated almost immediately. Please note we were eating a slightly earlier dinner. They had live music and the food was very good! We all took turns sampling from each other’s plates, and they were all tasty!

Good experience here and would go back. We had wings and the potato soup and both were good. The atmosphere is good, the service was good. They have multiple tv’s and a full bar.

Great apps and atmosphere 720 updated and elegant comfortable setting with a fireplace overlooking Michigan ave great place to people watch

Visited for drinks as well as breakfast one morning. First off, it is not inexpensive. Food and drink prices are high but not unexpected for city hotel restaurant. It is located within the Hilton. The service was very good both at the bar and in the dining room. Traditional Irish Pub atmosphere. Breakfast was excellent. The omelette was great as were the hash browns that came with it as well as the bread. We both really enjoyed our breakfasts.

Stayed at the hotel. Had the fish and chips, delicious! Live Irish music and the bartender Ronan was friendly and a joy to chat with.

Busy spot, convenient if you are staying at Hilton. Expensive---rather expected in that location. My fish & chips meal was good, but my husband had to send back his corned beef--so tough he couldn't chew it. However, the server immediately exchanged it for a club sandwich, which was fine. The second time we stopped there we had the cheese board and salads, and were very pleased. Wines served were excellent and service was fine. Interesting that the pub incorporated an actual pub relocated from Ireland, and had the charm and decor typical of such.

This was a wonderful place to grab and split a gourmet burger for dinner. It was cooked to perfection! Tasty and filling, my wife and I found that sharing the burger was the perfect amount of food for the two of us.

After I checked into Hilton Chicago, I was recommended to eat at Kitty O'Sheas for dinner. The menu looked good, and I took a seat at the Bar. Service was excellent, and I had a few recommendation on the beers on tap and food. I choose the Fish & Chips and Revolution IPA. The Fish & Chips were excellent, with the fish being flaky and not greasy or oily at all like you get in lesser restaurants. The Fries were nice also. The only drawback is I wish there was more. haha The Revolution IPA was also a good recommendation. The atmosphere was pretty lively for an early evening on a Tuesday night. There are TV's in different areas, and a nice outdoor seating area also. Will definitely come by again the next time I am in town.

Stopped in for quick meal. Okay food we enjoyed the ricotta starter and cups of soup. Burger was good and nice for pints of Smithwicks ale. Service was good but honestly didn’t get the Irish pub vibe. Just felt like it was a bar in a hotel with Irish theme. Better places in Chicago to get your Irish fix in.

We checked into the Hilton late one evening and needed to get some dinner and this restaurant seemed to be our only option. We ordered beers, a salad, and some sandwiches, not expecting a great meal. The beers were fine of course and the food was all well prepared and tasty but the prices are very high and the pretend Irish atmosphere is a bit silly. If you're staying at the hotel or stuck there at a conference, it's a good option if you don't have time to explore the many options within walking distance of the hotel.

I ordered the fish and chips and my husband had the burger. With 2 beers the bill was +$65. I don’t mind spending money if the food is good. This food was terrible. The fish was greasy with no taste. The burger was worst. It had some pre-made burger with a huge clump of whitish bread. I don’t understand how people can eat there. I was very disappointed to waste my dinner appetite here.

Excellent authentic Irish fare served with Guiness and Smithwicks on draft. Perfect location near Grant Park and the loop. Get there early and stay late. cheers

Fried fish and chips were ably prepared. Beer was cold, service was excellent for such a busy night. My pretzel was a bit dry. It is what it is. For better food and a more affordable price, leave the hotel and walk a few blocks away from Michigan Ave.

I wanted so badly to love this restaurant, but it was terrible. From the drinks to the food to the service, it was all rough. I had the seasonal sangria, and it was beyond bad. The waitress took it back and didn’t charge me at least. I had the original burger and my boyfriend had the wings. The food was so bland and nothing special at all.

One would think Fish n' Chips at an Irish pub is a staple on the menu and likely amazing.... NOPE! Chewy, overcooked, dry.... Hansdown the WORST EVER! With Guiness on tap I ordered a Poor Man's Black Velvet.... Of which the Guiness was NOT floated on the top but rather mixed together which ruins the entire concept. Service was atrocious -- would NEVER recommend this establishment.... Zero Stars! 😝

We all had the Fish & Chips. Very good. Many beers on tap to choose from. A little pricey but typical for a Hilton.

A few colleagues of mine & I came here after a full day of workshops to decompress and socialize. Unfortunately, the environment was extremely stale and unpleasant, and extremely racist. The waitress (Jennifer) lacked significantly in her customer service skills. Not only did she hardly provide us with her services but she seemed bothered by the fact that the bar was filled with Latinos. The waitress even had an attitude that I brought to her attention that she over charged me. She also called security on us because we played music, rather than speaking to us first. She claimed there was music already playing at the pub when there wasn’t. It’s unfortunate that during an opportunity to make great profit from a room full of educated & financially stable people, you chose to treat us less than. Horrible service and this establishment definitely tainted the great reputation of the Hilton.

This Irish pub is friendly sort of place. However on a Saturday night it was significantly under staffed. It took over 20 minutes to get a drink at the bar. The bartenders were rude and not helpful. They spend a lot of time messing with unlimited receipts coming out of their cash register. Could use an upgrade to the 21st century.

Ate here because it was attached to my hotel, the Hilton Chicago, so I wasn't expecting much as I was just in need of some food once I checked in. But the cod sandwich was outstanding! I ordered it to go- and they got it to me really fast too.

Stayed at the Hilton Chicago where it is located. Stopped in after check-in to unwind. We had wine and appetizers. Avocado toast was a hit. Service was a bit slow but overall a good experience.

I like Kitty O'Sheas. The food is good, nice selection of beer. The outside patio is excellent in summer for the nice breeze and people watching

Being located within the Hilton Hotel this is a nice Irish pub with a friendly atmosphere. The food was very expensive for what it is (all tourist areas for food and drink is expensive due to taxes) average in quality and taste. Service very good and friendly.

We stopped in for dinner when we spotted it as we walked back to our hotel. Our waitress, Kristy, was cheerful and helpful, making recommendations that all turned out to be spot on! The deconstructed shepherds pie was amazing--perfectly cooked lamb and beef with well-seasoned parsnips, potatoes and peas. A fabulous BLT with the addition of a fried egg and avocado definitely elevated this diner standard. We were really full, but could not resist (with Kristy's encouragement) the temptation of the raspberry whiskey bread pudding. We were not disappointed. It was superb! All was washed down with a perfectly poured Guinness and an apple cider. We did try the fig bread as an appetizer, and the bread was delicious, but served with a horseradish butter that was a little overpowering--the only small glitch in an otherwise wonderful dinner. We would definitely do it again!

Went down here for a quick bite after arrival. Whiskey selection is well above average. Food menu is fairly abundant but make sure to have your wallet handy. I got fish & chips along with a side salad, plus 2 coronas and the bill with modest tip was nearly 40 dollars.

Went here on way back to our hotel, pretty standard Irish pub feel, friendly staff, but no traditional Irish fare like boxtys, or curry. So grab a beer and some great fish and chips, just don’t expect Irish food.

Went to Kitty's for dinner. Potato soup was really good, the corned beef sandwich was really tasty .. . . and then the bill hit. I'm from DC, so know expensive. Bar was good, with excellent selection of Irish whiskeys that I enjoyed immensely. Nice place.

We were staying at the Blackstone next door to the Hilton and found our way over through the snowy slop to the wonderful Kitty O'Sheas. We went for breakfast on Saturday morning before the wedding at the Blackstone. The Bloody Mary's were raved about by our party! A meal in itself! We were told the BM mix was a secret chef created recipe. My husband and friend LOVED the pancakes and I LOVED the breakfast sandwich! Our waiter Efren was very friendly and brought us a taste of a beverage from tomatillo's that Chef Hugo created. Before we left chef Hugo came over and greeted us and visited with us! What a great find at the Hilton Hotel! Amazing food! Shepherds pie very good on another night as well as the fun live Irish music! Enjoyed our time and FOOD at Kitty O'Sheas!

Great Irish Pub with especially good deconstructed Sheppards Pie---special thanks to Kristy for the suggestion.

Kristy B welcomed us with a warm smile, made drink suggestions, was gracious about splitting a lunch and though it got busy, was very attentive. Great burger, fries and Irish coffee with friendly atmosphere and view of the park. Great choice while at or near the Hilton.

Some years ago, Hilton imported a genuine Irish pub and reconstructed it in the hotel. It boasts a 200 brand list of Irish whiskies, half dozen Irish beers. That said, it is the best corned beef sandwich: maybe 3/4 lb of corned beef on a perfect pumpernickel bun with cheddar and horse radish mustard. The deconstructed shepherds pie is good too.

This authentic Irish Pub has a tenured staff, many are from Ireland. Nice draft beer selection, huge variety of Irish whiskeys. Excellent pub fair.

The only place we could find along the park to watch some soccer games. We ordered some salads and beers. Beers were good. Salads unfortunately not. No seasoning apart a premade pesto. Fish and chips was greasy but ok. Service was very kind and professional. No Wi-Fi.

Chicago has such great food, there is no need to eat here. Ordered a burger ($16, medium, no bun, wrapped in lettuce) and a side salad. Salad has been obviously kept in a fridge/freezer prior to serving and bits of green were frozen to the sides of the bowl. Burger served naked, very-very rare on a single piece of wilted romaine. Husband’s $9.50 appetizer appeared pre-made. Waitress seemed nice, but somehow helpless. When we asked to clear tab, someone else’s (several whiskey’s were included). Ah, no thank you. We did enjoy the blackthorn walking sticks that adorn the walls. As the title of this review says.... just pass on this restaurant.

Stopped here since I was staying in the hotel for Sunday brunch. Loved the avocado toast and the fish and chips were very good.

The plate of food shown in the photo here is the fried cod fish dinner and side-winder fries. Very tasty but if I remember it was $17.95 per plate. I guess when we ordered one to split we expected larger portions for the money. Two battered fillets and average portion of taters. Grilled lemon is nice upscale twist. We split a dinner before a concert not to be too over-eat but no worries, one small filet and a few fries a piece certainly didn't stuff us. There are other places close by that certainly feed ya better than this for the money. Domestic beer was pricey too.

Had the deconstructed shepherds pie and it was pretty good. Lamb was a tad tough and I wish there were more veggies, but the drawbacks were worth the convenience of eating at the hotel. Was happy there was a patio to sit outside. Would not go put of my way to come here, but wouldn't bother leaving the property to find an alternative when time is tight.

We stopping here for a late lunch and shared a BLT. It was too big for one so we were glad we shared. It would rank as one of the best BLTs we have had. The waitress was great, friendly and helpful.

Our meal was phenomonal. All of us were so happy with the food choices. Classics like shepherds pie, the corn beef sandwich, and blt with soups and fig bread were delicious. Thumbs up!
One of our favorite bars in Chicago
This bar is sentimental for us as we love to stay at the Chicago Hilton where the pub is located. This is an authentic Irish pub with authentic food, entertainment and great beers, drinks and wine. You can sit outside on Michigan Ave in the summer which is a nice option also. Great fish and chips, Mac and cheese, burgers, etc. think comfort foods. Being Irish and having gone to Ireland, this bar is the real deal!
