We saw this. Wonderful little find after wandering the Portland Japanese gardens. It made a very nice way to finish the morning. These staff was friendly. The location was clean and bright and the food was very good

Wonderful small plates, octopus dumplings and addictive vegetable tempura. The soup was an even compromise between noodles, broth and vegetables and meat. The pork was roasted with a smokey crust. Gently braised greens. Extras included soft boiled eggs, pork belly and a marvelous fish cake. Good green tea. In a shopping center so good parking, minimal Asian style decor and lovely helpful service.

Really good ramen here if noodles are your thing. Enough options to keep me coming back for more. Can get very crowded. If your whole party is not with you you will wait to be seated.

I'm not a big fan of ramen because I think it is overpriced for what you get: a large bowl of savory broth, tons of ramen noodles, one thin slice of meat, one egg, maybe a few bits of something else. Add the a la carte options to make it more than just a bowl of noodles and now it's close to $20. Crazy. To me. However, if you're into the ramen craze, then Kukai is one of the best places in the Portland area. Order the low-sodium version, if available, or else it will be too salty for most people. Upgrade to the fatty pork belly chasu, which is so much better than the often dried out regular pork chasu. The Chicken Karaage is excellent - moist, tender, delicious! Note, the restaurant changed their name from Kukai to Kizuki.

This place has reinstated my faith in Ramen, solid ramen with fresh and wholesome produce. Great value for money and the service was fantastic too!!

Delicious broth and noodles, served by friendly, knowledgeable wait staff. Counter seats allowed us to watch kitchen action.Open architectural space is tastefully decorated and furnished.

Unique Japanese experience being offered in upscale ambience. Found portions to be slightly less than adequate here so recommend extra noodles. Low sodium options offered. Although, my shio ramen tasted salty.

It is always awkward to find yourself going against the prevailing sentiment of so many reviewers. This time, however, it is not just my opinion, but that of all five of our party at lunch. Our meal began with pork gyoza, or pot stickers, that were undercooked and flavorless. As entrees each of us had something different: garlic tonkotsu, spicy ramen, garlic tonkotsu with izakaya, ten don with ramen, and one karaage salad. All of the one-bowl dishes came in a muddy broth so cloudy and unappetizing as to warrant a hazmat label. The contents, boiled almost beyond recognition, were equally unprepossessing. As for the karaage salad, the deep-fried chicken balls atop the salad had wilted so they were no longer crisp, and the salad, sitting on a pile of hot rice, was itself a hot mess. The restaurant is one large room, noisy and without charm. Seating, such as it is, is on benches or "chairs" whose backs are no more than five inches high, so offer no back support whatsoever. Seniors and those with bad or tired backs be advised. The price, for a lunch for five, including tip but without any alcohol whatsoever, came to $90. That is far too much for unpleasant surroundings and terrible food.

Great ramen but for the price would expect a lot more...it's noodles after all. Delicious and well done. Not cheap for ramen however. There is a great Pho shop in the same center that will actually fill you up. There is a wait time on weekends. Not bad overall.

Had it delivered and it was amazing. The wings are on point. Hats off to the kitchen. The shrimp 🦐 dumplings things were 🔥! Sauce was good too…. Gonna have to explore more of their menu.

This is the second time me going to Kukai Ramen and both times have been great. I wish there was more seating so the wait time at night is not as long. Overall 4.5 stars.

The restaurant is decorated nice and the kitchen is open so you can them making your dish. There are seats at the bar and some tables for sitting down with family and friends. The place isn't that big and the DON'T take reservations. My experience there was ok. The server we had was friendly, but I was really turned off because they won't seat you unless your whole party is there. My cousin was 15 minutes behind us and even though they had a table for us, they wouldn't seat us because my cousin and her husband weren't there yet. Meanwhile, people were coming in after us and getting tables. We needed a table for 5, so to me it was ridiculous to not seat us because the three of us that were already there could use the same size table anyway. So beware of the crazy seating policy. The food was pretty good and I thought that boosted my experience there.

This franchise is gaining reputation. Already the wait can be 45 minutes for dinner on a weekend. Bear in mind people sit down, eat, and then go, so the tables turn quickly. Service prompt, friendly, and servers patient to explain , including paying a lot of attention to one of us that has multiple food allergies. The new mall this restaurant is at has very nice tenants, making dining there a pleasant experience. Watch out though, there is a Sushi restaurant opening up soon just a few doors down ....

This had to be some of the best ramen I have had, even better than what I can get on Maui. I had the garlic tonkotsu shoyu ramen and it was amazing. The broth was rich and creamy and everything inside was just so good. It had a nice garlic flavor that didn't overwhelm as well. The chicken karrage was good and came with a sauce that had a slight spiciness to it. If you come for lunch, get there right when it opens otherwise you will be waiting in line.

Great ramen. Good service. However, if you are a single you are "required" to sit at the bar. It doesn't matter how many tables are open. If you you want a little privacy and quiet with your meal, or maybe you just don't want to sit elbow to elbow with a stranger who might not share your commitment to hygiene and table manners. I checked with the server and manager, Tristen. Offered to wait and was told "no" sit at the bar or leave

Fantastic spot for good ramen and Japanese food! We wanted something yummy after a day of exploring Portland's waterfalls and found this great restaurant. Ramen was very flavorful and satisfying (ordered the Spicy Chicken and the Spicy Tonkatsu) and the Mixed Tempura was excellent. I also had one of the best Passion Fruit Margaritas I have ever had, tasty and strong. 100% recommend!

I have actually been here several times, there is a reason for that, the food is great. Probably why they are so crowded. Good things are worth a little wait. Iv hade almost everything on the menu from Ramen to Takoyaki and personal preferences aside everything was great, served hot and relatively fast. The servers go out of there way to make you feel at home. I've been their with several Asin friends who ask for off the menu items and they are always happy to please. The restaurant is clean and modern. Definitely recommend

I was impressed first off with the service. Once we came in and entered our info on the tablet interface at the front door, our wait wasn't that long. What was really impressive is that our table was already set up with a high chair for our 1 year old girl and kids bowls, spoons and cups with lids and straws for our daughter and 3 year old son. We've been to places where they grunt and motion with their chin, the location of the high chairs. The service was a little slow and it took a while to place our order and get our check but overall, the experience was good and the food was great. Not many options for kids but they were able to nibble on a few things.

first time to have ramen recommended by someone we know and it was great!, ambiance was also very nice! service is also accommodating since i didnt want meat i was offered to replace it with shrimp tenpura would definitely return

The service was great. Friendly, patient and knowledgeable. The ambiance is appealing. We thought the food was only average though. The chicken in our bowls just wasn't what we expected. Nor the veggies. Noodles were fine. Maybe it is just us. A cultural miss. We are not Japanese. Many in the restaurant were and they seemed enthused.

Very good, but be sure to be ready to wait. They don’t take reservations. Well worth the wait. Definitely.

Mostly noodles with a few extra items. The restaurant was great. Atmosphere was Japanese like. Food was delicuous. Price was on the higher side of average but worth it. I hope the build more. I will definitely be going back a lot!

My husband and I are Japanese-American. While we do not in any way claim to be ramen experts, we know what we like. We love ramen, period! We have both spent lots of time in the Bay Area and eaten at many ramen places, there and here. We probably have tried every ramen in the entire Portland area. So, how does Kukai rate? Let's put it this way, they've only been open about 6 weeks. We snagged a dinner during their soft opening, and then again a couple of weeks ago. I have a hankering to go right now again. Kukai has fabulous noodles, just the right amount of chewiness. Their broths all taste different, and that's the key word there, taste. We look for complexity in broth, a definite richness that only comes from preparing broth over a long period of time. Kukai's broths definitely have that elusive character we look and long for (and don't always find, unfortunately.). The bowls come out with a good amount of toppings and a nice piece of meat. You have the option to order low sodium for all broths (if you find out your broth is too salty like I did the first time, you can ask the waitperson to bring you some low sodium broth to cut it with, worked great. I recommend getting the low sodium for any of the extra rich broths), and as well as extra noodles. We had salads to start and they were excellent, fresh and just the right amount of good dressing. My only negative experience food-wise was we ordered the calamari, and it was too rubbery for my tastes. My husband, on the other hand, thought it was perfect. Is this the best ramen I've ever had, no. Is it better than most, yes. I started to give Kukai a very good, but bumped it up to excellent. Here's why. The serving staff are all very sincere and attentive without being intrusive. They are friendly and efficient without the snobby attitude I've sometimes encountered at other ramen places. The last time my husband and I were there, we sat at the bar, and were able to watch the cooks in action. No wasted activity there. We had an added bonus in that the owner came over whereupon we had an extended conversation. We would have liked to continue but we were getting dagger looks from the people waiting for a seat. He is clearly a lover of good ramen, and told us why he decided to go with Kukai, basically a franchise operation. Apparently, the only thing that is franchised really, are the recipes. And as I mentioned before, the recipes are great. He was allowed to decorate as he saw fit, hire his own people, etc. He also believed any franchise that could support several branches in Tokyo had to be pretty competitive taste-wise with all the Moms and pops there. Couldn't argue with that logic. What a nice man, no wonder his staff is so sweet. He mentioned that someone somewhere had posted a complaint about the ramen taking too long to get to the table. Huh? They only do a maximum of like 6 at a time so customers know their bowl is fresh. This is the way it's done at all REAL ramen places. I don't mind waiting for a really good bowl. Anyone who can't appreciate this kind of care needs to stick with the local Teriyaki Bowl offerings, and stay out of my seat at Kukai.

We were a party of five that all had lunch at kukai on Friday. We all ordered ramen, 3 chicken broth and 2 pork broth and immediately upon being severed, everyone noticed a strong seaweed smell and flavor. Out of the 5 of us only one of us could eat the ramen because the rest of us have an aversion to anything flavored with seaweed or kelp. The waitress told us that other people had mentioned this but the manager picked up my bowl and smelled it and told us she didn't smell anything, she then went on to tell us there was nothing in the ramen except the tiniest drop of fish oil. We felt the manager handled the situation badly by just denying the problem even existed and then finally giving us 50% off our ramen. We left hungry and frustrated with four full orders of ramen still on the table.

We love this place. Every kind of ramen we have tried is fabulous! We generally add pork belly to ours as well and it's delicious. Their appetizers are also very good, we love the takoyaki and have to get them every time! You can get different types of noodles depending on your preference as well. You will not be disappointed in the food here.. fabulous. The service, however, is very hit and miss. But we keep coming back because it's just that good.

Great ramen, great service. Can't go wrong with this place. Delicious broth and yummy appetizers (try the octopus).

We've been to Kukai twice now, and it won't be long before we go again. We had a sense of it's authenticity, noting that in both visits, most others diners appeared to be Japanese. And that is confirmed by the menu, which lists the 4 - 5 Kukai locations on the west coast, followed by the 20+ in Japan. The menu is somewhat limited, with as you'd expect, mostly ramen dishes, but those we've had have all been wonderful: both flavorful and filling. There's also a selection of interesting "small plates" and sides that we'd like to try when not planning to order ramen (too much food otherwise). And the price is right; most expensive dish on the menu is $12. Lunch bill for 4 this past Sunday was $44. Total. Well...before tip. Another review here is titled, "Not for Everyone", and that's probably right. But I think that has more to do with the fact that most Americans haven't experienced authentic Japanese cuisine than it does the quality of Kukai's food. I'd stand in line for one of those eggs that are served with some dishes. We learned our first visit that they've each been marinated for 45 hours (in miso, I presume) before being served. OMG, they're good!

If you haven't been here and you're a ramen fan, you are missing out! If I bring my 3 year old son, we share one bowl of ramen and just order a side of noodles for $2. They have kid plates and forks, very family friendly.

I live nearby and have frequently Kizuki probably 7 or 8 times over the past 3 years. Each time I'm left hungry and with a raging headache. I'm done trying. Last night I got takeout, just a simple chicken ramen, and woke in the middle of the night with my head pounding. I don't get frequent headaches, except from MSG or insane amounts of salt, so it was one of the two. Also have to comment that the chairs in the location for dining in are insanely uncomfortable. No backs, so you just slouch and eat with your back aching. The service is also very typical Portland attitude. Not polite, the servers are very awkward and rude. I really really wanted to like this place, I adore ramen.

My first time to this restaurant upon the recommendation of a friend - I am very picky about my ramen and broth - this place was very good - ramen noodles were cooked to perfection and the broth was delicious. I will definitely go back. The service was very good too! Very friendly staff

Kukai is one if not the best ramen shop in town. They boast an extensive savory ramen and izakaya menu. They also have Sapporo and Asahi beer on draft. There is always a line for lunch and dinner so plan on arriving early to get your name in the waiting list to get in. Once in though the service will make or break your experience. I’ve been fortunate to always get good service and waiters are always visible to flag down in this fast paced and noisy environment. Food is fantastic and the restaurant is a delicious surprise, tucked away in the suburbs of NW Portland.

We got right in because we sat at the counter! I really enjoy watching the chefs prepare countless bowls of steaming ramen. For dinner I ate the traditional spicy ramen. It had a wonderful broth. I usually get the garlic Tonkotsu Ramen which is rich and delicious. I enjoy all of the small plates to compliment the main dish. The pork buns, veggie tempura were all great. The service was excellent too.

The wait can be long if you are a group of more than 2 people. It also gets quite loud in there given that people are enjoying their meals and having a good time. We seated pretty quickly because we were 2, and the service was prompt. Food was delicious.

When Kukai opened their attention to the quality of their product and customer experience shown through. Our recent visit revealed a disappointing change. Their friendly environment is now gone. The hostess, servers and others similarly seemingly could care less how your experience was. No one came around to see how we were doing. Take our order, deliver it and drop off the bill. That was our experience. Cheaper, fast food places offer a better experience. The quality of their food has also decreased. The ramen noodles in both our bowls had clumps where the noodles cooked together. This is due to a lack of attention when the noodles are cooking. This is more than a little concerning since there's no easy way to cut the noodles when this occurs -- no knives. We also tried to signal someone -- without any luck. Did I mention the staff could care less about you? There are far better ramen places in town -- several we've tried. We won't be coming back.

During our Portland visit, we've stopped by Kizuki Ramen in Portland to try it out. It's located in downtown - in a food hall. You order at the counter and pick up the Ramen and appetizers when its ready.

Our friend took us here for lunch after shopping in the area. We were here on an October Tuesday around 1:45 PM. The restaurant was still busy and we had to wait for about 5 minutes. We ordered the following: • Geso Karaage ($6.50) – deep fried squid tentacles with Japanese citrus and chili peppers. Didn’t look too appetizing because the finished products was a dark brown colour as if it was over fried. I was comparing the colour of the finished product and the chicken karaage that we also ordered so I asked the server about the dark coloured tentacles and she said that is the way it was suppose to be. The dark brown colour could be from using old oil or possibly the use of a dark marinade, if any. However the tentacles were tender (not chewy) but bland; could have have used more seasoning as I didn’t taste the citrus or chili peppers. • Chicken ramen ($9) with low sodium shoyu broth and green vegetables. The broth was tasty and was good value. • Chicken karaage don ($10) – with rice (at least 1 1/2 bowls), salad greens drizzled with the house sesame dressing. Large amount of chicken karaage and rice. • Ten Don – assortment of tempura vegetables and shrimp on a bed of rice. Like the chicken don there was lots of rice; 1 1/2 – 2 bowls. The tempura was “pre-drizzled” with dipping sauce. The vegetables included 1 mushroom, 2 slices of squash, 1 slice potato, 2 slices of eggplant, 2 slices of zucchini and 2 shrimp. I asked for more sauce as there wasn’t really much and I have never heard of tempura being “pre-drizzled”. Average tasting tempura that I thought was overpriced for what you got. The total bill before the tip was $36.50 Ratings breakdown: • Quality and taste – average • Portion size vis-à-vis price – average but I thought the ten don bowl was overpriced. • Service – average Nothing really exciting and just average food in my opinion that earns a 3 out of 5 rating. Notes & Tips • Vegetarian options • Complimentary tea • Seating for more than 50 and another 10 at the counter • Located in a strip mall with plenty of parking • Locations across 4 states and also Taiwan, Australia and Japan • Check website for additional information • The original name of the restaurant chain was “Kukai Ramen & Izakaya”. The restaurant name was changed for a few reasons; one being kukai translates to “poop” in the Hawaiian language.

Without a doubt this is the best ramen bar in Portland The octopus appetizer is awesome and the choices for ramen bowls is extensive Worth your time to visit if you live noodles 🍜

I was a first time visitor here and wish I lived closer so I could come more often. I had the dipping noodles - enough for 2 days. The broth was excellent but I wish there had been a little more of it as I ended up taking half the noodles home with me. The Japanese sticky bun with three different sauce addition was extremely good.

Our family have always enjoyed ramen noodles and were intrigued to try a ramen restaurant while in Portland. We were so glad we decided on Kukai Beaverton! We were greeted by a very friendly and accommodating staff, who attended to all our needs (we had a dog traveling with us, so we needed to eat on the patio. The staff even provided water for the dog!) We ordered some appetizers: edaname, gyoza, and pork buns. Everything was excellent, and the pork buns were some of the best we had ever eaten! We each ordered a different entre including: Garlic Tonkotsu Shoyu Ramen, Chicken Rich Ramen, and Spicy Ramen. All were all great choices! Everything was cooked to perfection! We would definitely go back to Kukai Beaverton next time we are in Portland!

This is my second review. The first was on their small plates. This is on their ramen bowls. Overall my friend and I enjoyed the flavor but found it really hard to eat without being overly messy. Seems silly but I won't be ordering the bowls anymore for that reason.

We hadn’t been back since the restaurant opened and felt, as far as the ramen and gyoza are concerned (didn’t order anything else) they have upped their game and we were quite pleased so we will return to try other things! 👍👏

Nice place, great service and of course tasty ramen. I tried the traditional pork broth and I was pretty satisfied. The wait wasn't too bad.

This restaurant is absolutely horrible. Their noodles are either cooked too long or sitting for awhile before given to customers. The vegetables on top of my ramen were yellow. I told the wait or, expecting them to give me fresh vegetables. But they just took it and never came back. They also really do not care about the condition of the restaurant. The chairs are very worn out. Only hillbillies wouldn't care about this atmosphere. I only go bellevue's kizuki now because their noodles, setting and quality are all good.

food is good but service was not good when we went. we were passed over many times and many times we had to flag someone down to order, get water and get the check to leave. tempura is the smallest portion we have ever had for $8. but ramen has great flavors and is consistently good.

Look, I realize a lot of people still don't get the idea of paying $$ for ramen when you can just buy a package at the grocery store for a buck. But ramen is an art form in Japan and to a certain extent in Korea. It's more than just boiling water and adding noodles. Add a thinly sliced piece of meat, soft boiled egg, sprouts and some spices and voila, you have a delicious meal. Kukai/Kazuki is an amazing place! Treat your taste buds!

I was in Portland on business and Kizuki was near my hotel. It’s housed in a food hall with other small restaurants, but it was the only one open when I visited. They had a wide selection of ramen and the staff were friendly and helpful in making recommendations. The ramen (Miso Ramen) was fantastic. Rich and hearty with fresh ingredients. Highly recommend!

Recently opened on the north end of Beaverton, Kukai is a nice addition, especially given that area's dearth of quality food options. Very nice atmosphere and decor, diligent staff, and a wide choice of small plates are on the menu. The only personal complaint is the level of salt in the dipping sauces for some dishes such as the gyoza. It was inedible, honestly. I've traveled to Japan various times and eaten at dozens of Japanese owned restaurants, but never experienced this problem. I did speak to the manager who offered to take the item off my bill, which was the right thing to do. But I'm hoping they will remedy this situation as it isn't in keeping with the healthy food choices they offer and is also not authentic. Still a nice choice for lunch or dinner!

Took the family for dinner at this newly opened restaurant last night - we ordered the miso, shio, and shoyu ramen. Noodles had just the right amount of texture, and the broth was very tasty. This restaurant is affiliated with the Kukai Ramen chain of restaurants in Eastern Japan (mostly around the Tokyo region), and the taste is very authentic - just as good as the taste in Japan. Will need to go back and try other items on their menu soon! Plan for a wait - they don't take reservations, so it's first come, first serve. But well worth the wait.

This is the place to go for Ramen. We ordered three different dishes and all of them were delicious. Great for the whole family and great service too.

Visiting my sister for Thanksgiving and we came round here. There was a bit of a wait (30 minutes) for a party of 5 but well worth it. We all tried different ramens, and my boyfriend loved the spicy one. Will be back!

I'm confused. I keep hearing that Kukai Ramen has changed its name. But the signage, the menus, even how the servers refer to it are still "Kukai". No matter, i guess -- as long as they don't change the location so I can still find it (hard enough already; it's in a silly new could-be-anywhere nondescript "new" mall in a "new" developing condoville area.) Anyway, it's worth finding. Folks rave about the ramen -- both broth and noodles -- and they're right. The choice of combinations is impressive, and all tasty. Personally though, I prefer to taste test from the izakaya menu -- all little bites, very authentic, much variety. You can get filled up on these little works of art faster than you can with all those noodles!

There are literally no other words for how good this place is besides, "amazing". Expect to be a little patient waiting for a seat, as there is usually a bit of a wait, especially on weekends. It will all be worth it though, as the service is always prompt and polite. The atmosphere is clean and fun to enjoy while waiting for the noodles. Ample beer and wine selections are available but it's worth noting that they do serve complimentary hot tea that is quite good. As for the ramen, it is possible the best noodle dish I've ever had. Upgrading to the "fatty pork belly" and adding an extra soft boiled egg (these are to-die-for by the way) would be my recommendations to enhance the dish, but its incredibly delicious either way.

I wasn't very impressed with the host, server, etc. I probably should have stuck with only ordering one of then noodle bowls - (the items on the menu that have a red thumbs up) but instead I ordered some type of Japanese bun filled with pork fat - not very appetizing - and a small bowl of pork and rice (again more of the pork fat) - again this really lacked flavor and substance. I don't think this place is for everyone - just know before you go - they have limited seating, and also very limited beers, cocktails. If you're going just stick with the ramen noodle bowls and you should be ok. Not one of my favorite places - but I'm sure others might like it.

My gold standard for Ramen is Monta Ramen in Las Vegas. Kukai Ramen is a close second. This place does not have the grittiness of other Ramen places but the food is really good and the service is great. The staff are basically all millennials and seem to take their work very seriously. The basic Ramen comes with a choice of clear or dark broth. The broth has taken 10 hours to prepare. Loaded with vegetables and very filling for around ten bucks. Izakaya in Japanese means a local pub or hang out to drink after work. The restaurant is far from a dive and I saw a number of families enjoying the food. Freeway access from highway 26 is easy so you have no reason not to try this place.

Nice, upscale restaurant in a shopping mall. We were 7 people, all had ramen and everyone was happy with their meal The noodles were firm and chewy. The chicken broth was probably the very best.

My first ever experience of Japanese. Visited on a lunch time with 7 other work associates, it was super busy so we agreed to split up, 4 and 4. No worries. I ordered the Spicy Ramen, a noodle broth with pork, chili and spices. My soup also had a soft-boiled egg with a cold, uncooked yoke - super weird but fun! The dish burst with flavor, was fresh and high quality. The server was very knowledgable about the food, polite and prompt. All around a good experience, though the price tag of $14 for what is, essentially a bowl of broth, noodles and a little pork, just seemed high, especially for a lunch.

Kukai Ramen features very good ramen and good service. Lunched with friends and would definitely recommend.

First off the bad news....because they are so good they are very busy and the wait can be long. We ended up waiting 1 and 1/2 hours. Fortuantely they took our name and number and texted us when our table was ready giving us 5 minutes to get there. The place is very well decorated and being new, still in great condition. Our GPS didn't pick it up but since I knew the area, I didn't rely on it. The food was REALLY good. Ramen is there main speciality but they also have small plates/appetizers. We had the chicken wings (marinated and very delicious), the pork dumplings (also very good), and the Japanese Bun (a little different variation then what you might find in Japan but very delicious). The Ramen was very good and not the Korean attempt at a Japanese classic as served in other places around town. In all we were very satisfied with

A very nice and clean restaurant. Excellent for a date night. The service was good and we enjoyed the meal. Stopped by twice, one for dine in and the other for take out. One side note, the pork buns do take awhile and be prepared to wait 15-20 minutes. But it was fresh and amazingly very Delicious.

Close to my home and great food. Casual atmosphere, fast friendly service. The garlic tonkotsu shoyu and tonkotsu shoyu ramen are both great. The spinach goma-Ae is a nice blend of salty and sesame flavors.

This place was crowded for dinner. They used a texting service to let us know when our table was ready, which was convenient. We had to wait about 20 minutes for a table. Service was good and our food was prepared quickly. The food was fresh and flavorful. Portions are large for the ramen bowls. We all took leftovers home. A nice, enjoyable, atmosphere with lively music.

If you want to get Omicron, go here. The staff are the worst offenders. It’s horrifying. We’ve been here about 10 times. The original staff were chefs. Not any more. And now it’s just plain dangerous.

We ordered shoyu ramen (traditional), spicy miso ramen and kiragi salad. Food is good and really tasty. Ramen could be made with less sodium option. Salad dressing was excellent. They also have free hot tea.

The wait is over 20 minutes, but well worth the wait. The broth is absolutely amazing! Gyozas were delicious too.

This ramen spot is amazing. Very busy with the Japanese locals so get there early. I would definitely recommend the yuzu ramen with a side of garlic and ika Kara-age, (fried squid) with a side of aioli. The staff is pleasant and attentive. Just have to mention that there is really high pitched circus music that has been playing recently and you can tell the employees are definitely annoyed, (I sure was too).

With the help of other family members who have been here a number of times, three of us selected the Garlic Tonkotsu Ramen and the other choices were the Spicy Ramen and Karaage Don. All of them were excellent. Service from Jarret A was very good. No wait to get a table. Will be back on next visit to Portland

Been here several times in the past year. Very tasty ramen and appetizers. Did have one not-so-great bowl, but I chalk it up to a super long waiting list and overworked kitchen crew during lunch.

Ramen is the main dish here. They have different styles and all of them are good. I like the chicken one. You can order some starters as well before ramen. You can't book table and sometimes there is a long queue.

We came here on a early post-holiday dinner trip. There was no wait (yay!) We tried: the Garlic Tonkotsu, Tonkotsu, and Spicy Ramen. I like that they have "traditional or low sodium" options. I also like that they have "more or less" spicy options. Each soup came out piping hot, noodles perfectly done, and meat not overcooked and well-seasoned. We also tried their fried chicken appetizer - nice and crispy chicken with a tasty mayo dip. Service was prompt and place was clean. 3.5 Stars for this Ramen because I'm sad to say I am super uber picky about my ramen, but this place was good, just not my absolute fav.

Ok, so ramen may not be the ideal choice for a business lunch (tough to talk and concentrate on eating noodles at the same time). Booked this with some trepidation after reading reviews which mentioned the long waits. We arrived at 12 and were attended to by a very helpful waiter who entered our name and phone number on his iPad. We were seated as soon as all out party arrived. No complaints there. We ordered spicey ramen and asked for varying degrees of spiciness after waitress warned us that the hot was very hot. We all like spicey food and none of the dishes that arrived were at all what we would call hot. Nice ingredients in the spicey ramen but we all agreed that the broth was just not quite as flavorsome as we would have liked. In summary - loved the lunchtime ambience and the service. Slightly underwhelmed by the ramen. We will come back and try different dishes next time.

Authentic ramen and gyoza. Delicious rich broth and noodles cooked perfectly. Full now but know that with Asian cuisine, it's temporary :). Well-priced and can't wait to come back and try something else.

I don't know what the reviewer who complained about the size of the servings was talking about. The bowls of ramen are HUGE! They're loaded with noodles, meat, veggies, and soft boiled egg if you want it. There's a long list of Izakaya, so if you don't want soup you can make a meal with a few of those, and the price is very reasonable. The service is excellent and very friendly. The interior is very smart looking and very, very clean.

They do a good job on Thursdays with the spicy ramen. It is a good hot while still being flavorful - not just blow out your tastebuds. Friendly servers and fast service. Very busy at lunch and not the greatest amount of seating so get there early. Noodles were fresh and the eggs were done perfectly. We will be back to try some more menu items.

We definitely enjoyed lunch. Both meals were great. You can tell that it is a local favorite based on the amount of people waiting just for lunch...

Finally a really good restaurant in NW Portland suburbs! We went there for lunch, ordered only the small plates but most everyone else was having ramen noodle dishes. We had chicken wings, crispy tofu deep fried in BROTH,,,, YUMMMMMMM! I could have had two orders. The place was busy, the service was new to the job but everyone helped each other. We were in and out in an hour and there was a line out the door waiting. I will go back again and again.

Had a great bowl of ramen and great service! Had the Yuzu Shiro which was excellent! This ramen is like eating in Japan!

Everything was amazing! The food was delicious, the staff was so friendly, and the place was spotless. Couldn’t ask for a better experience—I’ll definitely be back!
Amazing Ramen
The best Ramen in town, with a huge variety to choose from on the menu. Remember to try the octapus dumplings, they are delicious.
