great suggestions for drinks from the bartenders. great ambiance both inside and outside. Both bartenders were friendly and knowledgeable.

Met a friend to check out the bar and have dinner. Was apprehensive about eating in a hotel as there are so many good restaurants in Austin. Actually they have a pretty good farm to market approach. My friend had just placed her distillate product in the bar and we want to see how it was served. The menu is interesting and broad enough for the three of us to find something. I had the grilled cheese sandwich and a salad. The grilled cheese had three kinds of cheese, local cheddar,Queso de Oaxaca, and homemade pimento, and tomato, and was on sourdough. It was yummy and comforting.

Nice option for on site dining at the Renaissance hotel. Outdoor seating included a fire out table and multiple other options. overlooking to

The breakfast we had at this place was really good, but the service was slow and our waiter repeatedly forgot our orders or couldn't remember them correctly.

Highly recommend asking for Dustin for your server, and ordering the Knotty Burger or the Grouper, and a side order of the crispy brussels sprouts!

Nice place to relax after a busy day with well made drinks. Food selection is somewhat limited, but was well prepared. Service was a bit slow, but otherwise a great place !

Exceptional food for a hotel bar and restaurant. No need to go out to fine dining when the hotel cuisine is ridiculously good.

This restaurant is great!!! The staff was very professional and the food was really good. The portion size was excellent I enjoy every bite. I also had lunch here and the serve was the very consistent.

Relaxing Texas Hill Country feel when you spend time on the Deck. The Food is delish and atmosphere is laid back

Lunch was great. We tried few things and everything was fresh and tasty. The service was superb. I highly recommend this place.

It's Tequila Day! The offer different kinds of tequila at a very reasonable price. My friends and I enjoyed the drinks and the atmosphere is amazing!

Best customer service ever, the food was superb and the view from the deck breath taking. Thank you chef Kent.

We've stayed at the Renaissance Hotel at Austin Arboretum many times, and eaten in the Knotty Deck and Bar restaurant - but this past 4th of July we stayed at a different hotel. When wondering about dinner one evening, we recalled the Knotty Deck and Bar and great food and drinks. So, we actually went to a hotel restaurant instead of the many offerings in this part of Austin. The Knotty burger, with good sized patty plus pulled pork and bacon is one hell of a burger, probably one of the best I've had anywhere. Drinks always good and service of a very good restaurant without being overbearing. Menu somewhat limited, and some entrees are pricey, so specifically ask for the bar menu. Oh, and very good fries.

I must admit I was expecting a special menu for Mother's Day but it seems as if the menu was standard . After sub par service, forgotten food items , wrong food orders , children receiving food after the adults the food was fantastic . Hats off to the chef for executing well and Mikes excellent service because this mother was becoming very discouraged on my special day. The crab cakes Benedits is highly recommended .

Had a wonderful experience here today during happy hour, The Knotty Deck and Bar has a breathtaking patio and great servers!! I had a pleasant conversation with the hostess sara, and she did a good job recommending plates!! The bar has a good selection of draft beers and snacks. Desert menu was a disappointment though, with a beautiful fire pit outside they need some s'mores on that menu! Will be back again to try more stuff the hostess recommended.

the food is good but the draw is the staff. They are friendly, likeable, good at their job and refreshing to be around. We were there for a conference and tired the food at lunch and at 9 pm outside for desert. all excellent.

It sounds strange to say that our favorite place in town is a hotel bar/restaurant, but it's true! My hubby and I find ourselves here at least once a week, sitting at the bar drinking wine, talking to the bartenders and enjoying dinner. The guacamole is my favorite guac ever (it has little chunks of ahi tuni in it!). The watermelon tomato salad is amazing. The burger is the best in town. The ginger orange chocolate cake is one of my favorite desserts ever! Mike and Kelly at the bar are the best!

Ate breakfast 3 different days and had different foods each time and all were good. The short rib hash and brunch tacos were the best. Omlet was also good. In the evening , had a Brutus, many times over. I am picky about drinks and this was one of my all time favorite bloody Mary's. Very spicey!

We ate a lunch and breakfast here. Breakfast food was OK but I was disappointed with the lunch selections. It took a very long time for our food to arrive for both meals. The problem must be in the kitchen because the servers were good and the restaurant was not crowded on either occasion.

I arrived after a long morning of travel needing something but not sure what. The lunch menu had a bit of everything, although many items were identical to the dinner menu. I am not a big lunch eater, so I decided to have the tortilla soup and the shishito peppers. The soup was delicious - rich broth, tender chicken (with just a hint of smokiness) but not much heat. The shishito peppers were a bit wilted and listless and had very little flavor, even with the lime and the aioli.

I ate from here couple of times and found that food is good ,pancakes wild berry is awesome .Tacos is average .

Andrew- By far the most knowledgeable bourbon waiter I’ve ever met and I travel quite a bit. He gave us the history and how each bourbon was made with all manner of trivia. His advice was “spot on.” Loved the Contradiction Smooth Ambler, Blood Oath and Burning Chair. All food was very well done. Great atmosphere and yet not to loud for business conversations. Located inside of Austin Renaissance

Located at the Hotel, I had the Burger with Knotty Fries, great flavor and if you go during Happy Hour, you can get most for half price or at a discount

While waiting for my other half I found the Knotty Deck and easily bellied up the the bar and ordered a vodka soda. Dollar off well drinks and half off appetizers. I ordered the shishito peppers and the ahi tuna guacamole. Great. If I lived in this area it would be a hang out.

Went to the Knotty Deck & Bar and ordered a coffee and Prime Rib Nachos. It took over a half hour and there were only 10 people in the restaurant and they already had their food. When I asked a couple next to me they said it is always this slow.

This restaurant was conveniently located in the Renaissance Hotel. The service was friendly and the seating is comfortable. The Tortilla Soup, Brussels Sprouts and Wedge Salad was delicious. I also had a great drink with Mezcal (don't know the name of the drink). Recommended, especially if you don't feel like traveling far from your hotel

The bar was very friendly and service was great. The bar is well stocked and the bar food was exceptional and with interesting items on the menu, like crispy pig ears. Was a great way to unwind and complete a day.

My wife’s organization comes to this hotel every year for a fall conference and the food and drink from Knotty Deck and Bar is consistent and very good. We ate breakfast once, lunch 3 times and dinner 3 times this trip and enjoyed every meal. The service is on point, even when slammed by 400 women trying to eat between presentations. While the food was great, the bar is a step beyond. Ram was still working the bar doing his magic with his always engaging personality; he can take any cocktail and elevate it (ask him for a Godfather). We can’t wait to come back again next year.

Fun bar inside of Renaissance hotel. It has a nice outdoor area. The food is really good and it's not loud there. So, if your looking for somewhere to actually be able to speak with your date and or friends this is the place to go.

I enjoy the cheeseburger when I eat in this restaurant with a glass of red wine. The service here is consistently very good and people are friendly. I highly recommend the burgers here.

Great evening enjoying some handmade concoctions! Must check this out while in the area, we really enjoyed our evening!

Great food. Happy hour from 4 to 6 with very reasonable food. Nice kids menu. Grandson especially loved the spaghetti. Good selection of Austin draft beers.

This restaurant had the best burger I've ever had - really. Grass fed beef cooked to perfection. This is a meal you will remember. The service is also the best I can remember with refilling water or bringing drinks or just making sure that your evening is perfect. I highly recommend you try the burger if staying at this hotel.

Knotty bar is a fun and relaxing place to chill together after a busy day at work while on a business trip. I just stayed at the this hotel locations in Austin. During the week, I had a team event, and also frequented Knotty bar for food and drinks several days in the week. it is a large and spacious that is well appointed, luxurious! The restaurant manager and her staff (Ram) were really friendly and paid attention to my team, and really did a great job to took care of them.

This is a great place for a late night snack and drinks with friends. The wings are awesome and the bar makes a mean cosmopolitan.

Looking for something light and found the wild boar ribs appetizer and along with it the heirloom tomato salad. The glaze on the ribs was Korean style perfect flavours and tender meat. The ribs were small but then I wanted an appetizer so it was the right amount of food. Heirloom tomatoes are fantastic and then the local draft IPA to drink was perfect. Service was attentive.

Was pleasantly surprised with the fresh and tasty foods served here! Excellent beers on draft too! Would recommend!

The bartender did a great job extolling the virtues of his scotch and bourbon and rye collection. So of course we had to sample and the lived up to the hype. We spent some time at the hotel so had a chance to come back often and they were always friendly and knowledgeable. Say hi to monica when you go, she was awesome and super helpful. Food was very good for a bar really and we had break fast as well which was tasty and they were very willing to accommodate changes and bring us whatever we asked for. Enjoyed the bar and restaurant very much and if you go in the afternoon the back deck is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the sun..

So much, for breakfast, the first morning, could not eat it all, Laarge bowl, of oatmeal, laarge fritatta. Everything is big in Texas/

After a long day of travelling, I was looking for a quick light dinner. I ordered the pork tacos, thinking that this was TX and couldn't go wrong. While the service was quick and pleasant, the food was not editable. I could get by the small plate concept of the dish, but the pork was swimming in grease and each taco dripped at least 1 tablespoon of fat (similar to an oily pizza). Additionally, the flavor was pretty bland. Perhaps other dishes are ok, but this experience makes me leery of trying this place again.

Waitress recommended to get the Snapper and it was amazing I cleaned my plate for them. The guacamole and tuna was good just don't forget to add lime and salt. My wife got the succotash and would rate it at a 4.

I really enjoyed my meal at the Knotty Deck and Bar. Grouper is one of my favorite fish dishes and this one was exceptional.

The food was really good in the hotel, but they never had enough staff to help. We couldn't figure out why since they knew that a million teachers would be descending on their hotel for lunch, etc. The people who did help us, however, were wonderful. It wasn't their fault that the restaurant was short-handed. Valerie served us dinner one evening, and she was friendly and adorable. She was running from table to table doing her best by herself. Mark waited on a table of us for lunch the day we had to leave, and he was not only very helpful and made sure we got out food and separate checks in time to catch our plane, he was also a wealth of knowledge about Texas. And, as I said, the food was delicious!!

Only had breakfast here, but the service was very good and the selection of fresh fruits and food was really good! Even the coffee was drinkable in comparison to some hotels I have been in!

After a long and difficult work trip I was fortunate enough to have booked a room at the JW Marriot and dined at the Knotty Deck and Bar. Brisket mac and cheese will change your life! It was so good! My steak was cooked to perfection, I was blown away by the quality of the food, the great taste, and the service, all top notch! Would recommend to anyone looking for a real quality meal.

Situated in the Renaissance Hotel in the Arboretum the Knotty Deck and Bar has a great outdoor raised deck area with fire pit and relaxed suroundings to enjoy a relaxing drink or light meal. The Mac & Cheese from the Bar menu is to die for. Very friendly and helpfull staff.

Ate at hotel restaurant two mornings while staying in the hotel. The omelets were huge and delicious, and the hash browns were excellent. The breakfast tacos good, but we've had others we like better. Service was outstanding the first day and very good the second day (different staff members each day). If weather is good, sitting on the large outside veranda for breakfast is very enjoyable.
