Sexy space & sexy food

By Sherry R |

This space was amazing, the food was delightful & our waiter was a sweetheart. Truly enjoyed my time here.

Skip the hype go elsewhere

By admin213 |

From start to finish, our visit to Komodo was a complete disappointment. • Hostess & Greeting: The experience began with a sullen, unfriendly hostess who made us feel unwelcome. Even though we had a reservation, we were told to wait at the bar. The restaurant was practically empty, which made this all the more frustrating. • Seating & Setup: When we were finally seated, the table was unprepared — no cutlery, no proper setup. When utensils did arrive, they were tossed onto the table by a rude server. The seats themselves were marked and dirty. • Drinks: Cocktails were a disaster: no garnish, no flavor, and overall sub-par for a restaurant at this price point. The Sauvignon Blanc we ordered tasted cheap and unpleasant. • Food: • Dumplings were rubbery and poorly presented. • Salmon had a strong, off-putting odor and was completely inedible. • Lobster rice cakes were stodgy and flavorless. • Fried chicken dish was greasy, overcooked, and equally inedible. • Dessert: The dessert was no better — bland and spongy, literally like eating a kitchen sponge. Overall: Komodo completely failed in service, food, and atmosphere. Between the rude staff, poor hygiene, and inedible dishes, this was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in Miami. Definitely not worth the hype or the price.

Komodo for the Win

By Amanda D |

In April, my boyfriend and I came to Komodo for dinner. Little did we know it would turn out to be one of the best dining experiences we’ve ever had from the time we stepped foot inside. The ambiance, drinks and food were beyond expectation, but our server Michael Peña made our experience truly spectacular and memorable. We were completely taken care of which we appreciated beyond words - his knowledge of the menu enabled us to take a back seat so we could be present and enjoy our night. We left that night with stomach pains from laughing and our cheeks hurt from smiling. So much so that we decided to surprise my boyfriends sister with dinner reservations for her 30th birthday. We were able to request Michael Peña to be our server and both he and General Manager Daniel ensured our night was a complete success and her surprise went off without a hitch. The collaborative efforts of the hostesses, servers and waitstaff for the seating, along with handling our drink and menu selection was so appreciated because it made our night and her birthday experience perfect. We can’t say enough about Komodo; it’s one of our favorite places. There’s amazing restaurants all over Miami but Komodo is not only fabulous dining, it’s the people who make it fabulous.

Good Ambiance; Average Food

By Ben N |

This restaurant has a fantastic ambiance and great music. The sushi is certainly good, but doesn't surmount to the luxury and quality which the environment (and bill) would make you think it is. This place is more of a show than quality when it comes to food. That being said, it's a fun environment, and the pecking duck station is great to see.

Nasty staff from the beginning! At the door they don’t seat you in time but they also don’t let you wait inside!.

By Roving815127 |

Stay away from this overrated trap. The food overly expensive for what you get and the staff at the entrance is insufferable. So much so that our planned Bdy dinner was ruined off the bat.

Miami Must!

By Robert B |

Without a doubt one of the top 10 meals of my life. The peking duck and stuffed mushrooms were perfectly prepared and presented. Mouthwatering and memorable... and the staff was on point in every part of the experience.

Do not go

By Cesar G |

Terrible service, they don't respect reservations! There is no place! They charge you for booking and they don't give you any explanations!

Amazing food and drink / might be too loud for a more professional business meeting

By psudino |

I went here with a networking group, all of us have known each other for a decade or more. So this was technically a business dinner but it was a very causal business dinner. Pros: +The food was first class. Everything we ate was outstanding! +Great drink selection. As a fan of sake it was quite extensive +Really great atmosphere for dinner with friends and family Cons: -If you are wanting a professional business dinner then this is not a good place to have a conversation that doesn't involve loud voices. If casual fine, but you should not attempt to do actual work in this environment because of the very loud din. I do recommend Komodo, especially if food/drink quality is your primary concern.

Nice!

By mhajari2021 |

2 words. VERY NICE! Actually, two more words...AMAZING EXPERIENCE! Overall, nice vibes and delicious menu.

The food was good but service was lacking

By M Bailey |

First, the food and drinks we received was good and came quickly. The bad part is that we had to repeatedly ask for several orders and one was actually never received. So at a table of five people, only four people were able to eat dinner after notifying the server that the food was never received several times. The food was good but I probably wouldn’t come back as the bad service/kitchen mishap made the experience unenjoyable.

Amazing Restaurant Miami

By _ragarratt |

We were in Miami on a business trip and some friends recommended that we try Komodo. We absolutely loved it. The restaurant and bar design was fabulous and included an outdoor garden and treehouse. The food was excellent and the wine list was great. The service was also attentive and personable. Great place to visit with friends or for an evening for two. Highly recommended.

You are crazy?

By Davide S |

Horror experience: I book by giving my credit card as requested, I arrive right on time. Entrance with an absurd queue, they tell me I have to wait 40 minutes for a table. After forty minutes, they tell me I have to wait another 40. If you arrive 15 minutes late they can take away 35 dollars, but if you ruin an evening by spending Friday night watching their chaos not even an apology. The icing on the cake is that the girls at the entrance laugh at you as you leave.

A must in Miami!

By Samuel M |

This place is MAZING, the Peking duck is out of this world, the service was great. De decor of the place is great, really beautiful with great music, the beef dim sum is a must. Their signature drink is a special kind of Moscow Mule and it was extraordinary. Loved this place, going back for sure!!!!

Best meal I’ve had in awhile

By SouthHills |

A party of 6 of us ate there and ordered lots of different things. Drinks were awesome food was awesome service was awesome. Loved the shishito peppers because they had a little sweet sauce on them. Edamame was normal not at all spicy like menu suggests. Best for me was the Korean fried chicken with fried rice. But everything was great and great ambiance too!

Good, but...

By Danmot |

I went with my wife for our anniversary. I'd say we had a great time, but there are a few things worth noticing. The good: service and ambience. Indeed the waiter put an extra effort to make us comfortable at all times. The place feels classy and welcoming. Food was ok. The bad: price. Simply put, the food itself does not justify the price. Even though food was ok, some of the dishes were little overcooked and the food seasoning felt a bit too "familiar" for my taste. The ugly: the wagyu tacos. 20 dlls for literally 2 bites of overcooked meat is simply not worth it - just order something else. Rounding up, I don't regret coming here but I won't be coming back. Good for a one time experience only.

Best Peking Duck!

By RenatodiCaprio |

We like it for the Peking Duck. Kids love it. The ambiance is great. A Dave Grutman restaurant; so it will be very good (all his restaurants are great). The sushi is also very good.

Don’t do that mistake

By elan b |

31 minutes ago 🚨What A horrible experience🚨!!!!!!!! Mediocre

By Sandra S |

From the moment you enter the restaurant, the hostess service is not welcoming at all. On top of that our server was not atentative to our table at all we were left waiting for long periods of time without water or updates on our food, and the restaurant was not even full. The food was mediocre, not worth the price paid or the service given. I don’t recommend if you are planning to go for the quality of service and food.

Amazing Experience

By jsh44320 |

We were fortunate to sit upstairs for a private event and sample a tasting menu of 9 items. Everything was fabulous from the chicken salad to the Brussels sprouts. Service was perfect. Highly recommend to foodies. It was nice to try so many foods and not leave stuffed.

Overpriced for Average food.

By Angela225 |

Overpriced for Average food. Sushi is good, dumplings very sub par - one set soggy and falling apart, the other so crispy they could cause a laceration. Found the need to use the light on my iPhone to read the menu in the dark lighting irritating, as did the customers sitting at nearby tables. I’m sure Miami has better Asian food.

Classy Restaurant

By Maria Saenz |

My Experience was OK. Nothing from another world. You can go once just to say that you been there! The ambience is nice and classy, but the food was OK.

UNIQUE!

By Marie Dania |

Certainly a unique experience. the Wagyu and the Duck are a must try here. Love the ambience. Crazy expansive. Beer is hot.

The best

By Andrés C |

Each dish surprises and comes out better than the last. It is very worth it, the service and atmosphere are unmatched. Going to MIA is not the same as going to MÍA and dining in Komodo⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Recently moved to Miami and

By Joe L |

Recently moved to Miami and checked out Komodo for the first time. Erick, the doorman could not have been more accommodating. Super friendly staff, the food was amazing and the drinks were great as well. Highly recommend.

Very good dinning experience

By Carlos C |

Great dinning time with family. Place have a great ambiance and food is real good. You need to try the Pekín duck, is a most! Service was real good

Still good but ….

By David C |

… unfortunately Komodo seems to have lost its edge since other venues opened in the area. It is still good but the demand for tables seems to have dropped off and the atmosphere is lacking from our previous visits. Food was still good but prices have increased and the value for money is harder to find. Komodo was previously always a must visit when in Miami, now it is replaced by better venues and better value.

kOMODO, BEAUTIFUL & OVERPRICED

By Mario Ernesto S |

Full to capacity on a Tuesday night, Komodo must be very popular. Good service and food, beautiful atmosphere, but I found it overpriced. "Small Plates" were better than the "Plates". Curried Shrimp, Charred Octopus and Salmon Tacos were delicious. Peking Duck ($98) and Garlic King Crab Lo Mein ($44), good but way overpriced for the quantity served.

Enjoyed it

By Traveller |

Food was good and we particularly enjoyed the duck lettuce wraps and the tuna toro roll. Our waiter was very professional and knew the menu inside out. The only staff that needs improving is the ladies at reception who were much less friendly and made us wait 15 min for our table even though they contacted us earlier that day saying we can’t be late... Our dishes all came out very quickly so we never really had to wait for anything. Food price was reasonable for the location / type of restaurant. Drinks were too highly priced in my opinion ... $70 for a bellini with very little champagne and a Zacappa rum ! Beautiful interior and good music. Overall I would recommend it.

Delicious Pan-Asian food in a trendy setting.

By SimonVaughan |

Lots of different opinions voiced here for what is a very popular / busy restaurant. It has an almost nightclub vibe with the incredibly low-lighting and loud music, but I enjoyed the atmosphere, and I loved the food. A lot of people seem to have quarrel with the service, so I just wanted to put on record that the waiting staff were superb, especially the waiter who took the food order who was very patient and helpful for my GF partner. It is a little pricey, but some really nice food and cocktails in the heart of downtown Miami.

Anniversary dinner

By Natalie M |

Komodo never disappoints. We visit once a year for the last four years and we look forward to it every time! The best beef taco’s and Peking duck on the plant! This is a MUST TRY!

Amazing

By Filje Andjela R |

Great food, service and crowd. The music is fitting and Everyone is dressed nice, the presentation of the food matches the taste. Top notch everything!

Spectacular Asian Fusion

By Priya M |

Spectacular Asian Fusion in the heart of brickell.. pricey but totally worth it for a special occasion Had the mushroom dim sum with a truffle topping that literally melts in the mouth Super smooth and extremely flavorful Had the wok fried vegetable platter with a bunch of vegetables ( carrots, bok choy, baby corn, broccoli and lotus root sautéed in a soy based sauce ) dish is available as both a side and as an entree Finished off the meal with a mocha trio ( selection of the day was mango, passion fruit and lychee) Extremely flavorful and not too sweet at all and is an amazing palate pleaser and cleanser as well

Super fun!

By Diana C |

Komodo’s atmosphere is super fun! The food was delicious and the restaurant played lively music! The servers were attentive, providing great customer service. I enjoyed the decor from both the inside and outside of the restaurant. Gives off an elegant, outdoorsy ambiance.

Top Quality Food, Great Table Service, Not So Good Maître d Service!

By Matt B |

So I'll get the worst part of the experience out of the way first. When you arrive you have to give your details of your reservation, you are then asked to wait near the bar area and someone will come and collect you. We had a large party and was waiting 30-40 mins to be collected, this wasn't a massive issue for us as we were not in a rush however we saw several other people complaining about timescales for their table. One tip - don't book this restaurant if you have plans for the rest of the evening. Moving on from this, the food was sensational. The service from our waiter was excellent and he was very helpful and gave recommendations. The food came quickly but this didn't impact food quality. I had the duck lettuce pancakes, the NY strip and wagyu rice which was amazing, the flavours were something else. In terms of the price, yes it is relatively expensive but not ridiculously expensive. I had a few drinks and the food above and it cost be roughly $150-160. Would 100% head there again whenever I am back in Miami.

Very Miami

By Shannon D |

Searched and searched for somewhere to eat in Miami. Looking for something upscale, trendy, and Miami-ish. Found exactly what we were looking for with Komodo. Had reservations for 7 on a Wednesday night. Realized we were feeling rushed so called to change to 8. Were extremely accommodating and helpful. Arrived a little early - had a couple of cocktails at the bar. Definitely pricey. For two espresso martinis and a mojito our check was $65 dollars. Then moved to the outdoor area for dinner. Had 4 menu items to share: Cereal Rock Shrimp, Lobster Dynamite, Duck Lettuce Wraps, and the Wagyu Beef dumplings. Plenty enough food to share for 3 people. Everything was delicious. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Sparkling water was not good so the server substituted it with a free glass of wine. Music was appropriate level for dinner conversations. Had an all around wonderful time. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for the same vibe that is willing to pay for a pricey Miami dinner.

Can't Miss At Komodo!

By Sheryl A |

Wonderful experience as usual at Komodo. This is my favorite Miami restaurant. Foodies will love it. Every dish is superb. Inventive and delicious dishes. Best to share so that you can try several for each course. The cocktails are great too. Service was exceptional. Rafael was very attentive, efficient and friendly. We will ask for him when we return. Which will be again and again. Will have the Peking Duck next time. Love this restaurant.

Alex is where it's at!

By BlondeTraveler |

Soooooo my dinner date and I were a little confused on what to order and where to start as there are so many delicious options. Alex is literally the G.O.A.T. He was not only able to suggest the best dishes for our palate, but was able to pair the most appropriate cocktails and wine as well. His personality and sense of humor really added to our time at Komodo and I will definitely be back immediately. PS- the wagyu dumplings and Peking duck will change your life.

Great large group experience

By ThePlasticDoc |

Went here for a birthday party. The waiter set us up with a great variety of dishes in a family style. The tuna porterhouse was memorable as well as the Peking duck. Will definitely return!

Happening Restaurant in Miami

By Moe G |

Great vibrant sushi restaurant in Miami. The atmosphere is very vibrant and nice. the bar is huge and happening. I would recommend asking for sitting outdoors. service is great and some of the items which we tried and liked were miso seabass skewers, soba noodles, truffle mushroons, and tuna and toro. i did not like the sweet potatos. A drink i can recommend is Ginger Passion Mule.

Save your money and time

By Angela M |

The place is nice, service was good, it was just ludicrous for price we paid for the food. The still waters if in a big table of 10, could drink 6 bottles of water and each bottle of Evian is $10! So there goes $60 dollars wasted in water. Overprice, so hot and music so loud, they sat us outside seeing that we had kids and a baby and kept us in the hot climate outside instead of sitting us inside. You only have one hour and 45 mins to use it and if you arrive late, you only have 15 mins to hold the table. They clean up the tables so quick making us feel we had to leave immediately. Not worth going if you’re hungry or in a big group. Save your money, there are better restaurants outside.

Amazing celebration

By alle98 |

Went to Komodo to celebrate my sisters birthday. Everything was amazing. The duck was incredible as well as everything else we had. It’s a must to order the Ginger Passion Fruit Mule (Moscow Mule). Our waiter was very nice (he worked outside).

Better places to go

By AFoodieDMV |

Wanted to try a different restaurant - brought a friend from out of town to try Komodo. Was not worth the drive from the beach for us. The cocktails were just ok, the service was fine but the restaurant just wasn't our vibe. The decor and ambience felt dated, & the windows so dirty I thought it was raining outside. I won't even touch on the hostess/bartender uniforms - I'm sure management can do better than that. The restaurant is also very large - indoors and out. Felt like a cruise ship on land or kind of Cheesecake Factory feel. The shishito peppers were not cooked all the way and drowned in a very watered down sauce. The duck lettuce wraps were disappointing - very little ground duck mixed with a sauce that was way too sweet. The Chinese pork ribs were a winner, especially after the previous disappointing apps. The duck looked enticing but we just ate duck the night before. Won't be back but if you go stick to sushi and the Chinese pork ribs.

Superb The vibe The people

By Simon T |

Superb The vibe The people The service And THE FOOD just beware what big portion sizes but nice problem to have Loved it

Sophisticated chinese grill

By JUAN Portela |

It was our first time but it wont be our last. Great evening celebrating the wife’s birthday. Elegant but simple place, service was excellent, even though I had read reviews on the contrary. Everything was on cue from the receptionist to the check. We chose to seat outside, great ambiance pleasant to the eye. Small plates were amazing, burst of flavors, we had the sea bass skewers, wagyu beef dumplings, shishito peppers. For our main plate we had the “arroz con pato”, which by the way its their forte, and it was sooo tasty. Nice size serving portions the three of us ate from it. Overall great experience we spent about $280.00 with a prosecco bottle.

Great Meal

By George183635 |

Great food, and the best restaurant I have eaten at in some time. The whole lobster was stand-out. Overall cost of the meal was a little on the expensive side, but that was expected after I reviewed the menu, when I made the reservation.

Served us raw pork and shrimp

By Benjamin D |

One of the most terrible experiences I’ve had at any restaurant in Miami. Ordered the “money bags” dumpling which contains pork and shrimp. It came to the table completely raw. RAW PORK! The manager was notified by our server and completely ignored our request to talk to him. We asked a second time to talk to him and he finally came around and apologized but told us it had already happened what can he do he took the item off the bill and that was it. I have worked in the Miami fine dining industry for 7 years now. 100% avoid this restaurant at all costs they will poison you and say whelp it’s already done what you want me to do about it. We asked for his card he clearly lied to us and said he didn’t have one and was going to get us one and brought us a generic card with the restaurants phone number and email. Never met a manager in Miami that didn’t have a personal card clearly he was trying to avoid us getting his name. If you came to the restaurant that I work we would 100% comp the meal and invite you back again for a free meal. I had a reaction to the raw shrimp and pork I ate and couldn’t even contact the manager that was responsible for the entire experience.

Stop reading and make a reservation!

By CandE-Travels |

MUST DO IN MIAMI We sat outside in one of the hanging baskets. The ambiance was excellent. Very hip and lively. we started off with two small plates. The mushroom dumplings are a must get. I am not the biggest mushroom person and thought they were incredible. The sea bass skewers were soft, flaky and the sauce was to die for. We decided to get the small plate instead of the entree so we could try a variety of things but it is an option as an entree. The miso black cod entree was delicious. Me and my boyfriend shared it along with the small plates and were full. The supreme sweet potato is another must get! It is a Japanese white potato that tastes just like a sweet potato with gold flakes on top to make you feel like you’re famous! The service is like a fine dining restaurant but you never feel uncomfortable or out of place. I really enjoyed the whole experience and will be back!!

Komodo

By Greekgirl |

I went for my birthday with my sister and had the BEST time ! The staff is so sweet, and the food is amazing. Great place to go with friends, and celebrate. Although a bit expensive it is worth it for a fun night out. Tasteful, great music, and nice cocktails:) highly recommend !!!!!!!!!

Good food, not the best for special occasion celebration

By jenniferstewart1002 |

Not the best spot for celebrating an occasion. I took my boy friend here for his 30th birthday - I had dined here twice before and had celebrated a friend’s birthday prior so I expected a similar experience. We were seated inside in a dark area so we asked to be moved outside where the ambiance is lighter and more fun versus romantic. The hostess moved us outside right away which was kind. Food and service was good but I was disappointed to find the restaurant did not do anything somewhat special for the birthday occasion that I had listed in the reservation. When you book the reservation they asked if you’re celebrating something and list a slew occasions to celebrate (wedding, anniversary, graduation etc) - in my opinion that question should not be asked if the restaurant does nothing to recognize the occasion, especially when spending $200 at the minimum for 2. I was not expecting anything elaborate or free but just something to recognize the birthday - most restaurants at much lower costs will offer a scoop of ice cream with a candle at the minimum or write happy birthday on something.

Staff rude

By Laura T |

Rude and unprofessional staff, especially at the reception. The foods and the location are very good shame for the staff

I was always avoiding going there, but…

By Patrick Van Negri |

4.25⭐️ I always avoid hyped restaurants that attract a certain type of people, especially in Miami, and Komodo was on top of my list. However, I didn’t want to be rude to my friend’s invitation since I had just met him that day. I must admit, I was positively surprised, and all the stereotype was gone, minus the type of people that go there, but nothing you can do about it. First, I was surprised we got a reservation that easy on a Sunday night, during Art Basel, and we didn’t have to wait 1 second for our table once our time came. I expected high prices and average food, but it was quite the opposite. The prices were fair, the portions decent sized and tasting great. It started with delicious cocktails!! How was the food? For the most part, freaking great! My favorite was definitely Pork Sticky Ribs! One of the best ribs I had ever! Truffle Mushroom dumplings were interesting, but not sure if I would order again. Same with Wild Mushroom Lo Mein, that was just bad…. Btw I must note that the black truffle is not fresh; it is preserved/canned. Korean Fried Chicken was fantastic! Unfortunately, our Sake Aburi never arrived, so by the time we ordered the dessert, we had to cancel it. Not sure if it would ever come to be honest. For the desserts, we went with the recommendations, the Japanese Cheesecake and Green Tea Tres Leches, which were interesting and decent, but nothing extraordinary. The service was impeccable. You got like 3-5 people handling your table at some points; they are kind, friendly, and on top of the game. All in all, definitely give it a try! I am coming back.

Peking duck all day!

By Jani |

Was there last night for dinner. Classy place with great atmosphere and great service. Our server Oleg did his job very good. We had dumplings as starter and they were just amazing, but the sushi we ordered also as a starter was very bad. Not a lot of taste and very dry. U can have way better sushi in some of the cheapest places in miami then here. My gf had chilean seabass for dinner which was delicious with perfect sauce, but man, the size of the dish was ridiculous. For 48$ i expected at least half of the fish and we got 3 little pieces. Definitely not worth it because of the price. I had the famous duck and have to admit it, it was just amazing! Cooked to perfection and the best meat i had in a while. Drink were very good and we especially liked the “girl from ipanema” which was vodka based. In general very good place. Over priced off course but still worth trying it.

Great all around.

By Mile High Traveler |

Great dinning experience all around. Atmosphere was great, staff was excellent and the food was fantastic. Put on your must go list in Miami.

Special night kind of place!

By familyoffourMA |

Loved it! Pricey for sure but gorgeous and delicious dishes that are beautiful to behold. Excellent service (thank you Tamas and partner) and the fabulous Miami Spice menu made my daughter’s 21 st. bday extra special.

Great, hip, Asian fusion eatery

By Visit DrunkPhotography.com |

I was a little apprehensive about going to this place, after seeing the pricing online i.e. Peking Duck for $110 in Miami. Friends made me go to experience the ambiance of Miami and it really is emblematic of Miami with all the flashy, dressed up, 'rich' people (there is a dress code in case you didn't know). However, after seeing tasting the food, I realized that is was a really good Asian fusion spot, although pricier than any I've ever been to. The food was definitely top notch taste, it is as good as many say. Steak there was a little pricey too, not just the duck, it was about $60 for a tiny steak maybe 3 fingers wide-- it tasted amazing though! Here is a tip, sometimes they give you menus that are the OLD versions and some items on them are up to $20 cheaper than the newer menu. We got a couple of them and if you see a difference in pricing of your menus, just use the old menu and take pictures as proof of the prices you were baited into using to buy the food. :) I'd go again, for sure, when it's paid for or I'm sharing the bill to end up spending less.

Cozy restaurant specializing in Japanese food. Great location.

By Viviane Andrade Teixeira |

Recently I had the pleasure of dining in this amazing restaurant! Perfect combination of elegance, good cuisine and a romantic atmosphere. Decoration that blends modern and traditional elements, well cozy. Perfect for a dinner for two or with a few friends. Japanese cuisine is flawless, with fresh and high quality ingredients. The menu offers an excellent selection of sushi, sashimis and hot dishes. The service was great, by coincidence by a Brazilian, polite and knows the menu well, always ready to make recommendations or clarify doubts. Located in Brickell, an exclusive Miami neighborhood, the restaurant benefits from a privileged location, surrounded by skyscrapers and stunning views of the city.

Good food long wait

By Frank R |

The food is good and so is the ambiance, be prepared to wait long for your table even with a reservation.

Very nice and beautiful Ambiente, Restaurant .... very nice waiters ... the food very freshly prepared and served ... refreshing drinks ... we had a very nice evening ... thank you very very much to the whole team .. Patti &Hilmar

The ambiance is great!

By blondissa |

I love Komodo's ambiance. There's just nothing like it. I feel like I'm in another country. Soon as you enter the dining room, you take a small gasp and just take it all in. We ordered the Money Bags, the Mushroom Truffles, the Veggie Fried Rice, the Garlic Lo Mein Crab and the Halo Halo dessert. Everything was delicious! Our server was Alesso, who was very nice. The only thing he didn't do was come back and ask if we wanted another drink. But that's ok, we aren't heavy drinkers anyway. Parking is by valet. There is no street parking in that area. Hope to be back soon.

Komodo - good Pan-Asian foods, and still a Miami HOT-SPOT!!

By byMT305 |

Komodo on Brickell has good quality Pan-Asian foods (Peking duck, sushi, dumplings, Asian salads and vegetables, etc.), and remains a very lively Miami Hot Spot! The decor is combination restaurant and multi-level club. The sound system is DEAFENINGLY loud as to preclude any normal dinner conversation. The bar scene is VERY lively, The hostesses, general ambiance, etc is moderately pretentious, but it seems to be working for them. Service (at the loud crowded tables) is good (but not great). Overall, the food is quite good (but less than outstanding). Craft cocktails are good (Hidden dragon is tasty) Among appetizers, Hearts of palm salad is light, fresh and very good. Dumplings were very average. We didn't try any sushi rolls during this visit For entrees, Peking duck ($98) at Komodo is MUST TRY delicious! Served a single course with hoisin, pancakes, crunchy vegetables -- it's a large delicious entree!! Branzino was good, but not great For sides, we liked Asian vegetable stir-fry; grilled corn was good but not great For dessert, the Japanese blueberry cheesecake was MUST TRY delicious!! Yum!! The house-made trio of ice flavors were also very good! In the high-end "fine dinning" category, Miami/Miami Beach has numerous restuarants with superior food. NUMEROUS restaurants! Nonetheless, Komodo remains very much a Miami hot spot!! Out-of-towners (who we go with) always enjoy dinner (and "the scene") at Komodo. If you still haven't been, YES, it's worth the trip!!

Awful

By FMundani |

Unpleasent experience. First of all they gave us a table outside in the heat leaving the mostly empty inside, telling us that shorts are not allowed inside, (since my 2 and 9 years old kids are the ones wearing shorts). No other visited restaurants in Miami including higher end and michelin starred establishments did this to us. The food was sub par. At the end the check came with an item I ordered but they have not delivered, when I told the waiter he replied that he removed an empty plate of that item and he did not believe me that the item was not brought to us and hardly removed it from the bill after I insisted. An unpleasent experience.

Overbooked, but Solid food, Good Ambience and Service

By AmanJunkieBoston |

A bit like Tao, this Asian fusion restaurant has a vibey ambience, high ceilings and a buzz. The food was surprisingly good and the service was excellent. The biggest drawback was they made us wait for our table (this seemed very common) and the bar where you wait was three deep to the bar?! It was a frustrating way to start your dinner. There is also a super exclusive but small club for late nights upstairs at the restaurant, but the prices/minimum spends are crazy high. The people are high quality and there is a good vibe.

Cocktails only as there are better options for dinner!

By Ivory R |

If you prioritize a delectable meal without breaking the bank, Komodo may not be your top choice. Despite its trendy atmosphere and commendable service, the cost of the dishes can be alarmingly high. For instance, the special of the day, two small crab claws, priced at $100.00, might seem exorbitant for a 4 oz portion of crab. Equally astounding is the $20 charge for a bowl of vegetable fried rice. The restaurant's ambiance, while trendy, can be overshadowed by its high temperature and deafening music. Surprisingly, even with the presence of strict time constraints imposed on patrons – a mere one hour and 45 minutes to enjoy your meal, with only a 15-minute grace period for tardiness. The pressure to vacate the table promptly was exacerbated by the swift table turnovers, creating a sense of urgency that detracted from the leisurely enjoyment of the dining experience. After expressing our concerns about portion size and cost to our waiter, they seemed sympathetic and provided a chocolate dessert, a $25.00 value. If you're truly seeking a satisfying dining experience, it might be best to skip Komodo. Instead, consider visiting for a cocktail and exploring other dining options that offer both a more gratifying culinary experience and better value for money. Save your hard-earned dollars and explore the plethora of superior dining options available outside of Komodo.

Salmon tacos for the WIN, come early to avoid crowds

By Coco |

Came here for dinner with girlfriends and we all loved the sushi/small plates. Seriously, get the small plates. Everything hot we ordered was, meh but those salmon tacos made up for it all. Seriously the best bite I’ve had since I can remember. We also really enjoyed the spicy yellowtail roll. It was fresh and delicious. The restaurant itself is vibey and cool. However, the later it got the more the restaurant filled up. In the time of corona it was super packed and my friends and I who are visiting from New York felt very uncomfortable. Seriously no effs given here about the virus or social distancing.

Great place to eat with friends

By UFPAGator |

Went here last month while visiting Miami for a concert and the food was delicious. Most of the restaurant is outdoors but has a very cool ambience. Will definitely come back one day.

Most amazing food I ever had

By SUSANA E |

I have dined all over the world from mom n pop places, to 5 start restaurants, but Komodo topped them all. Honestly never had such exquisite food! Superbly seasoned, even the spicy items were just rite (because I do not like spicy food) - the ambiance was perfect, service was excellent. I highly recommend the The salmon tacos, Komodo chicken salad and the dumplings! the tacos were my fav. they melted in your mouth.

Tired. Lost its cool while prices doubled.

By Tourist619263 |

Oh dear….2nd visit. It has lost its cool. Atmosphere tired. Service efficient but impersonal. Too cool for school front desk still going strong but we were seated quickly. Food very good but $600 later I was still hungry. Honestly prices are ludicrous. Pity coz the first visit was awesome.

Vibrant Vibes and Culinary Bliss at Komodo

By MenuPassport |

Komodo’s vibrant and lively atmosphere immediately set the tone for a memorable evening. The highlight of the night was the truffle honey salmon—an exceptional dish that left a lasting impression. We also enjoyed the hamachi truffle, a perfect complement to the meal. For drinks, the Spicy Jaja Margarita and Lavender Haze were absolute standouts, adding a playful twist to the experience. We lingered to soak in the ambiance, and it was well worth it. I’ll definitely be back to enjoy more of what Komodo has to offer!

Great restaurant!

By Jondra Diaz |

The food, the staff, and the ambiance was all great! Tamas the waiter / photographer was amazing! Thank you to all the staff for treating us like family! Can’t wait to go back.

Waitstaff makes or breaks fine dining

By Anita H |

Komodo is renowned in Miami for its food and ambiance, but what was most impressive was the waiters Justin and Alejandro. For a person with many food alergies, they were very diligent to make sure my orders were modified accurately, even dishes I didn't realize has sesame in them. But what truly set them apart from all other waiters were thier kind personalities, friendly demeanor, excellent service, and handsome smiles. However, there is room for improvement in the friendliness and memory retention of the seating hostesses. If you arrive early for reservations, as we did in respect, you may be forgotten at the bar. Make sure to return to the hostess stand to check on your tables availability. Likewise, the ladies restroom had broken locks on doors, broken toilet seats and broken flush plates; as well as a bathroom attendent that was verbally rude and not cleaning up after patrons. I wiped the mirror and counter off myself so at least the next patron would have a better experience. But because of the amazing food and Justin and Alejandro, I will return to Komodo in Miami, during frequent visits and recommend it to my family, friends and colleagues. Make sure to ask to be seated in Justin or Alejandro's section when making reservations, they truly made the experience grand.

Overpriced pasta and sushi with an attitude

By HardeeTraveler |

Great scene to look at people but the food and drink are easy overpriced and nothing special. $65 for crab lo mein, with almost no crab. They tell you you've got to leave before you sit down. Plenty of other great restaurants in Miami to try without the price or attitude. Used to be good, but they lost it.

A fine trip to one’s sense of taste. That’s Komodo.

By Johnny H |

From the short ribs to the lobster dynamite and the wagyu skirt steaks, to the Japanese cheesecakes, the menu is a carefully crafted gastronomical variety of Asian flavors that delights you senses.

One of the best restaurants in Miami

By Deanna N |

The best restaurant we have been to this far on our trip to Miami. The waiter was extremely friendly and helpful in placing the order for the kids and myself. All the food was incredible and my lychee Martinee was delicious as well. Would definitely like to come back and try more of their dishes. Highly recommend.

Asian food with a flair

By sandrabch |

Fantastic food, great service and great atmosphere! foof was delicious and we had a great time. Duck was superb!

Komodo Friday night

By mmcm2016 |

Food was good-ish but really?? This restaurant has so much competition in Miami it needs to up its game. Less of the occasionally disdainful service and less than perfect food for the price. Could do so much better.

Food Poisoning

By Charlie G |

The food tasted amazing. This would have been my favorite restaurant, up until the moment we started vomiting our food due to food poisoning. I emailed the manager Vincent, but he never responded to me.

Vibes are great but food was okay

By Caitlin B |

Came with friends who had been before and really hyped it up. The vibes are cool but the food is overpriced. Service was great. Pros: - sashimi was very good - duck is good - service was very good! - if you like old fashioned def get the Szechuan old fashioned (cardamom was a nice touch) Cons: - Wagyu skirt steak was very meh. The sauce and crispy onions were a nice touch and I know skirt steak is not the best cut but still wagyu beef should be higher quality than the average skirt steak. - The drinks are expensive (as to be expected) but don’t get shots as they are very expensive for average quality alcohols. Would rather recommend cocktails.

Great restaurant, excellent food and ambiance

By analemusr |

We had a reservation, were seated all on time. The place was packed and they managed to give us a fabulous table. Food and service was great. food was brought to the table super quick. Everything was delicious. Duck tacos are a must! We tried the Miso Lobster and it did not disappoint . Brussel sprouts were delicious too. The place was mostly young people in their 30’s and 40’s. Music is modern and upbeat. Feels very trendy and in. Definitively will be back.

Service Lacking

By 2020VisionMD |

We had high expectations for Komodo after our favorites Novikov and Hakkasan in Miami. We were unfortunately disappointed from the get-go. We had reservations for 9:30PM and arrived at 9:00PM and checked-in. We were only seated after 10:00PM. Our waiter was very nice, but we had to repeatedly get up to go find our wine bottle to refill our wine glasses. People were constantly coming by trying to take our plates away as we are actively eating. The dishes were tasty, but they came in serve ware that you buy at Macy’s discount sales. The service and settings definitely did not fit with the inflated prices. We would recommend you go elsewhere if you want to have a relaxed and enjoyable evening.

FOOD POISONING

By TS39 |

I ate here with my wife and teenage daughter recently. Unfortunately, my daughter contracted violent food poisoning after eating the fried rice and edamami. My wife also had gastro issues. I had previously commented that the food arrived so quickly after we ordered that it could not possibly be being prepared freshly. If only I had listed to my gut instinct! The server suggested that it must be an allergy which I feel is extremely unlikely as we often eat Asian or Asian-fusion food and have never had the issue before. We had not eaten since breakfast so it also seems unlikley that another meal was the cause. Apart from the food poisoning, the quality of the food is mediocre at best and the ambiance a little forced and silly.

Totally OVERRATED !

By EmilyLaSalle |

Average, OVERPRICED food, very small portions, terrible selection of 80s and 90s music, that has nothing to do with the restaurant's concept - and loud !

Great food and amazing vibe

By Dan G |

We had diner at Komodo, we went for the beef dishes and they where awesome, excellent food and amazing service, the vibe was fantastic too. It's a place to go if you are with friends, family, business or a romantic couple diner. I highly recommend this location if you are looking for great food experience.

Great

By Thomas |

Komodo is a great place. I went early on Friday to the restaurant, the server was great, the drinks were amazing and some we had to request again after about 20 min. The ambiance is great.

Thank you for the wonderful experience.

By Joann Fore |

After reading some good comments about the service and we went for the Miami spice menu. The food was good and the portion was very generous and the service was perfect and on the top. And we will come back to this place

Do not bother, not a good restaurant

By DAVID J |

Booked a table for two, 6 weeks in advance. Arrived an hour before the reservation, checked in and waited at the bar. Reminded the hostess after 45 mins and was shown to our table on the hour. Only it was not a table and it was not in the restaurant!. We were taken outside to a bistro table upstairs with bistro stools. We explained that we had a reservation for a table in the restaurant but were told that this was all that they had. We could see over 20 empty tables and when we pointed this out we were told that they were all reserved!! It was clear that most of the tables were for parties or 4, 6 and above. This is clearly a party place and NOT a restaurant. We left. Terrible place, Zuma is much better. We live in Miami and eat at the restaurants every week but we will not be back here.

Eh! Whats the hype?

By justlovetoexplore |

Really nothing to be crazy about. Girls at front very unfriendly and have attitude. Once we ordered the food it came out in 3 minutes which tells me everything is pre made. Portions are very small and we were not impressed Average food at best. Waiter is slow. Doesn't follow up Cant wait to leave

Good not extraordinary

By Hilal T |

It is a very posh place, nice atmosphere and good food. However for these prices the number of extraordinary tastes were limited. I recommend Wagyu beef and Salmon taco. Watch out of the price of water, better to drink a cocktail…

Excellent rate from 1-10 /10

By Moises P |

Excellent service, Waiting time at point, Food delicious. Prices as expected its a fancy restaurant so it’s expensive but affordable. Lounge floor, excellent music and drinks.

Delicious and beautiful dining

By Brittany G |

Food was unique and delicious. You wouldn't find this dining experience just anywhere. Server was fantastic and made great recommendations and was perfectly attentive. Drinks were flavorful and dining amidst the lush bamboo and greenery was a delight.

Poor service lack of customer Svc and major misses in food prep and response.

By Fereed M |

Yes, the service was genuinely the worst we have ever seen. 1) we arrived on time and they made us wait 30 min 2) they messed up two dishes 3) brought someone else’s food 4) forgot to bring us the edamame we ordered 5 ) and they didn’t take the spice off of the things we asked It was very disappointing and we were so done we didn’t even order dessert because we just wanted to get out of there. We left still very hungry so we ordered food.

Fatal goalkeepers

By Kukita |

The experience was great except for the treatment at the entrance, the doormen and the staff who receive you are poorly educated. They seem to be involved in a kind of somewhat mafia-like smuggling regarding the treatment of those who arrive without reservations and those who do not. You can make yourself wait so that one of your favorite clients can access before your In general, if the restaurant wants to preserve its prestige, they should replace them all because they seem to be contaminated by tips.

Delicious

By Navagater |

Food was delicious and quite innovative. They had a version of the Filipino dessert Halo halo and it was pretty good. Ambiance is a bit dark, loud, but it’s pretty typical of Miami at night. The Peking duck may have been one of the best if not the best I’ve ever had. I was a skeptic since it’s Asian fusion but it was delicious. The wagyu was okay, a little charred and paled in comparison to the Peking duck. All in all a wonderful dinner.

Seen & Scene

By Elfma |

Moneyed Miami on steroids. Humongous, sprawling venue, felt like dining in an Amazon canopy treetop. Upper tiers are open to the outside and covered. Creative Asian fusion menu, delicious and imaginative libations. We were particularly fond of the intensely flavored truffle and mushroom dumplings and crab noodles. Service took a bit longer than we would have liked, but considering the mileage from kitchen to table it was reasonable, and wait staff was professional and personable. Forget enforcing COVID protocols , Miami likes to party and they like to party HERE.

Definitely visit

By Sanja |

Awesome place! Excelent food and service! Definitely recommend to visit and enjoy! The best raspberrie mojito ever! And desserts also. Hope you get the server Benoit!

I loved it!

By Leidy G |

Love it!! The short rib was my favorite! It was basically butter. The place is beautiful, the service was good, and good drinks. I recommend this place all around.

Delicious and delicious

By Erik |

Delicious food and awesome drinks. The menu is impressive and the service is excellent. This is a great restaurant for couples.

Not impressed

By Kim P |

Overpriced, and honestly the sushi is not even that good. I have much better sushi that is much more affordable at my neighborhood sushi bar.

Komodo Never Again

By Juan M |

Unfortunately, my experience at Komodo Restaurant was extremely disappointing. Despite having made a reservation in advance, upon arrival, the hostess told me that there was no table available and simply invited me to wait at the bar. After 40 minutes of waiting, there was still no table available and I had to explain to my guest the awkward situation we were in. This lack of professionalism and respect towards clients is unacceptable, especially when it comes to an important business dinner. I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone due to their poor reservation handling and customer service.

Amazing food and atmosphere!

By westcoastjourney |

I've been to Komodo twice during business trips (Feb 2019 and Feb 2020) and both times the food and service were fantastic! Very friendly staff, great atmosphere, and fantastic food!! It's not inexpensive, but it's well worth it!!

Amazing experience!

By Margaritaakifyeva |

Amazing experience! Great food, beautiful place, wonderful atmosphere and music. Outstanding service with especial thanks to Estefani! Will definitely recommend this place to friends and at work!

Shame on you!! When you walk

By RenatodiCaprio |

Shame on you!! When you walk in and get your temperature taken you think these people are really being respectful. Then you take a look at the bar and the chairs are seriously distanced from each other. Then you look at the dining area and the outside dining area; shame on you guys. You clearly do not respect the executive/emergency orders for restaurants. Space between seats outside was like 30 centimeters back to back. Shame on you guys!!

Savoring the flavors

By Scott B |

My experience at Komodo in Miami was fantastic. We started with the Wagyu skirt steak tacos, which were incredibly flavorful and tender. Next, we enjoyed the toro and hamachi nigiri, both of which were exceptionally fresh and delicious. We finished with the spicy filet mignon, which was cooked to perfection and packed with flavor. The service was attentive and enhanced the overall experience. While it's on the pricier side at around $350 for two people, it's definitely worth it for a special night out. Highly recommend!

The best

By Kristina S |

Omg … decor spot on. Music jamming. Light level just right. Happening ambience. But even better than that – the food is over-the-top delicious. I don’t even normally like Peking duck and I couldn’t stop eating it. My other half loves Peking duck said it was absolutely the best he’s ever had. The shrimp with the corn flake topping was creative and I couldn’t stop eating the corn flake topping. I think they need to make it into crumbles and sell it by the bag. You must get the wagyu beef tacos. I would literally come back and eat 2 orders of them by myself. I didn’t care for the shrimp and lobster dumplings but my other half did. Angelica, our waitress, could not have been better. Friendly, knowledgeable and just the right level of attentiveness. She added to the pleasant experience. This is a must do anytime we’re in Miami. Don’t miss it!!!

amazing place

By ZsoltSom |

We really loved the place...Great and professional staff, Amazing food...and great drinks in the bar before dinner... If you are in Miami and you like quality dining, Its a must visit place!!!

Good food, bad espresso martini, expensive but fun

By Veronica18 |

he truffle Lo mein was amazing, the vibes are interesting but good, I thought it would be fancy with like subtle calming music but it had Shawn mendes & other popular artists playing in the back ahah but it was still great. The server was very knowledgeable & personable. The Waygu dumplings were good but nothing life changing. My boyfriend had the salmon tacos & loved them! The espresso martini was the worst one I’ve ever had :( it was wayyyy too sweet. Didn’t taste like espresso at all, but all around a great experience ! It isn’t cheap at allll but the experience was good, I would go again but only for special occasions cause our bill was $200 after the automatic 20% tip

Good food and cockatiels, and nice party after dinner

By Daniele T |

Been there with a friend. We ordered dim sum with seabass and shrimp, some sushi with spicy tuna and the noodles with king crab. Everything was good. The dim sum was a bit too delicate, I felt like it was slightly tasteless. The mix of the fill was composed by more seabass vs shrimp which I’m fine with but I would have added a bit of salt or more shrimp in the mix. Food for thought ;) the sushi was amazing, one of the best ever had. The noodles were also very good but somehow a bit difficult to digest and the noodle was a bit over cooked. Cocktails and service also very good. Went to the lounge after dinner and there was a very nice party. Overall a very good experience, just a coupon of details to improve

Snob and impolite staff

By Olympia_q |

I made a reservation for two people at 10pm and gave my card details as they charge you if you don’t show up within 15 mins. We arrived on time and some very impolite rude and snob bouncer type manager told me they we were behind schedule and made us wait with other 30/40 posh wannabe teenagers showing up. After waiting for 20mins we decided to head to the manager and cancel the reservation without them even apologising for it. Really horrible atmosphere full of show offs

Trendy pan-Asian restaurant in Brickell

By Shanelle |

Trendy Asian fusion restaurant in Brickell. Came here with a group of five during a girl’s trip, and this place was really busy. We had a reservation for 9pm but we waited for 25 minutes by the bar alongside the crowd while the hostesses went through the list (you can tell if you’re up next by checking the printed receipts on the side of the hostess stand). Indoor and outdoor dining is available. It’s definitely a scene but the vibes were fun and there’s a club inside where you can go after to dance off the food. Food was served family-style and it’s pan-Asian-inspired. There’s an automatic 20% service charge included. We had the following and had a little bit of leftovers: Lobster dynamite: very tasty, I would get these again. Pastrami egg rolls: these came in four pieces; apparently it’s a signature dish but I didn’t think it was anything to write home about Sticky ribs: nice flavor and was a heftier option Truffle mushroom: very light and a good vegetarian option Dragon roll: your standard sushi roll with avocado Korean fried chicken: this came in three and similar in flavor profile to the ribs; I liked them Special fried rice: a solid accompaniment for the meat dishes Crispy brussel sprouts: To be honest, I didn’t really like these. The flavor was off. Japanese cheesecake: it’s the fluffy cheesecake with the server making a ceremony or pouring the berry glaze on top. A lighter dessert. Miso temptation: I told the girls that if ever met someone that made me feel the way this chocolate mousse cake dessert made me feel, I would marry them immediately. Definitely get.

Flavors just don't work. Not great.

By igorbear |

Wagu taco ...weird tasting flavors. Awful texture. Overcooked rich meat that did not taste fresh. So not enjoyable. Wagu dumplings....again, minced meat with an odd flavor. The dough was OK. Chilean teabags was fishy...certainly not fresh. Served with a sticky sweet sauce. Nah. At the price, it's not up to standard. Service was very quick. Which was great. We got out of there fast.

Ok Place

By Alex M |

The atmosphere of the place was ok , the inside of the restaurant was nice, however the service was really not that good, the drinks were ok the food was ok. Is more the publicity that gets on social media than what it really is

Spectacular!

By Road654186 |

Excellent experience, a well hidden place but with extraordinary service and staff, the food and presentation 10 out of 10.

Amazing food, atmosphere, and service!

By Johnmk1170 |

The food was amazing and was only surpassed by the beyond excellent service. The true meaning of hospitality. From the hostess, servers and even bussers, each was top notch professional, 5 star service! Based on meeting the general manager you can see why everyone seems to love working there. Excellent job!"

Great happening restaurant

By RenatodiCaprio |

Great Peking duck. Best in town (and in many towns for that matter). Very happening and loud restaurant, and even louder if you get the wrong table next to you. We sat outside. Great drinks too.

Miami vibes / get the peking duck

By alliefox1213 |

Just what you think of when you think Miami vibe! The peking duck is a must (not overrated at all). Loved sitting outside in the open air area.

Sit outside and get the duck!

By Kapricca |

Very cool decor. Swanky scene. Every bite was awesome. The pecking duck is a great share plate. The Chilean sea bass is awesome but a small portion. The lo main is creamy and very different than traditional versions. If you have a big group ask to sit outside and upstairs. They have private birds nests hanging in the sky with seating. Coolest thing I’ve ever seen. The outdoor area is covered and feels like a jungle. I’d recommend those tables.

Great food but with uptight staff

By MichaelBermuda |

Was here on a colleague dinner - table of 12. The restaurant was exceptionally loud and the servers acted like used car salespersons - all going for the upsell. Be careful since the potions are very mixed in terms of size - some you would think would’ve been quite large were small and vice versa. The staff roles were far too defined (if you ask for water from the wrong person good luck getting it until the message is passed on). BUT the food was fantastic. Every upsold starter, main and dessert was incredibly tasty. Place is pricey but the food is superb.

Great place for a big group

By El Dorado |

There for a friend's wedding weekend. A smaller group of us arrived Thursday night and about 30 of us did a prix fixe dinner that was delicious with a great atmosphere and vibe. Try the Pikachu, amazing and unique cocktail.

Fun venue but expensive and rude service

By Bird |

Be prepared to pay big bucks for mediocre drinks. The scene is lively and loud. However...We were overlooked often for our 9pm reservation. other parties were seated first even though we arrived on time to our reservation. We inquired with the hostess on several occasions. We received varying reasons for the delay. they even said we did not meet dress code. We were appropriately dressed to meet their "casual chic" code. then we were told they were cleaning our table, then they said our table was accidentally assigned to another couple. There was another group of young women who complained about the same issue. We never got seated after waiting an hour and half. We left. And although they may not care, WE WILL NOT RETURN !

Nice food - Overmotivated waiters

By Patrick F |

Went there at the end of a full-day meeting with some colleagues. Nice ambient, good wines. Food came family style in bowls. Waiters were a little over motivated.

Beautiful restaurant with impeccable service

By AndreaUbok |

We made reservations well in advance. Valet parking was available and there was an app to retrieve our car. Beautiful beautiful restaurant, I did feel like I was in an Indonesian garden. Service was just impeccable! Joel was on point. Interesting mix people in sports jackets & cocktail dressed while others were in gym wear & sneakers with dogs. Our only negative was that 4 men smoked marijuana across from us for an hour. Our food began to taste like pot, our clothing reeked; I couldn't taste our food. It was very very disappointing! People around us took their food to go and left. We started with signature cocktails. My husband enjoyed his signature tropical garden & my pineapple express had a nice kick. We had a dinner of small plates. I enjoyed the pork sticky ribs, they made have been my favorite the crispy meat fell off the bones. The crackling calamari salad was generous crunchy and flavorful. The duck lettuce wraps were interesting but I didn't taste any duck. The dragon maki sushi roll, just tasted like marijuana. We tried the signature Japanese cheesecake with berry compote and a vanilla bourbon cream again just tasted like sponge cake & marijuana. It would've been a lovely evening if 4 men weren't blowing marijuana smoke at our table. Funny nobody asked how our evening was.

Very good food and drinks

By Jeta |

Many times I went and always the food ,drinks and service are wonderful I wish to come back soon Great place

Money is no object (with these prices!)

By Melanie B |

A beautiful restaurant with great service. That being said, the food is grossly overpriced. It’s good, but not exceptional. If you are looking to impress a date and show them that money is no object, take them here! Also, a big night club feel if you are looking for that.

Great food, terrible manager!

By Carlos V |

3 of us (out of 9 people) arrived about 15 min before the reservation, they could not sit us until everyone was there. Asked to talk to the Manager to see if we could sit and start ordering. he came and said in a very smug way, "in this restaurant you only have 2 hours at the table, if I sit you now, I have to ask you to leave in 2 hours". Really? if you have plans to be at the restaurant for more than 2 hours, skip this one. It seems that management has instructed the staff to ask you to leave!

Really bad service

By Ana S |

We had a reservation and we still had to wait 1h30 for the table to be ready. The lady that received us just said she had nothing to do with that. And the manager couldn’t do anything as well and was not kind. The price we paid was way too much for this bad experience. Definitely not coming back again

Overpriced!

By Brandi J |

Komodo was nice to experience, but very OVERRATED AND OVERPRICED! We started with the salmon tacos, which we didn’t know was raw, but they were edible and different. We had the $100 Peking duck and it was good/juicy, but expensively priced and we also had a side of special fried rice and that too was very good. The ambience and vibe was nice! Outdoors is where you want to go to take cute photos. Food was good, but overpriced. I can get a roasted duck back home from the Asian restaurant for $30 and taste just as good, if not better.

Sexy Ambience and great food

By Corey S |

Food was great, service was great. The girlfriend loved it!! We visited from out of town and this was one of the highlights of the wknd.

An Experience more than just a dinner.

By julian |

This wasn’t just a dinner, it was an experience. Pricey? Yes. Worth it? Another yes. This is an evening where you can’t count calories, just enjoy trying everything that you can fit. Service was amazing. Not very crowded on a Saturday, but we were early. It was jumpin’ by the time we left. Highly recommend.

Loved it!

By Deedee |

We were fans of China Grill and Komodo definitely fills their shoes. We were a party of three and all chose to do Miami Spice. We got to taste a great variety of their menu. We were not disappointed. The dumplings were great as was the Korean fried chicken. Although we sat outdoors in August Miami heat weather, it was very pleasant and cool. We will be back!

Trendy. Decent food. Weak service. Pricey

By Jason C |

Food is pretty good. Pastrami egg rolls are creative and tastes good. But the service is hit and miss. Was there 6 months ago and everything was great but this time it was if everyone was too busy to get things right. Which is odd since I have never seen a restaurant with so much staff.

FANTASTIC TIME!

By cristina_maria1978 |

My boyfriend lives in Toronto & had decided to spend his 40th birthday here in Miami. 6 of his friends were also joining him so it fell to me to secure a reservation for 11 during Art Basel weekend. Mission accepted! After calling around to the newest & most buzzed about spots, I was close to giving up. Most places required an obscene food & beverage minimum ($13,000 one replied without a hint of irony). I was reconsidering this whole thing until I remembered Komodo. As a native, I came to Komodo at least a few times a month when it opened but had quite honestly forgotten about it. THANK GOD I remembered! Was able to secure a 10:30pm reservation and when we arrived, it was as chaotic & loud & glitzy & MIAMI as I remembered it... Perfect! We waited a big for our table to be ready but once we were walked to it, I was aghast. The table was tucked away in a dark corner near the stairs leading up to the restrooms. Definitely NOT what I had in mind for my beloved's 40th birthday dinner. Although all the guests were insisting it was fine, it was most definitely not. I pulled the hostess aside & explained to her the situation & how important this dinner was. She couldn't promise anything, she said but would see what she could do... Let me just say that not all heroes wear capes. Erica is an angel sent from above & not only did she upgrade our table, but she took us to the very tippy-top of Komodo to the BEST table of all! I practically wept in her arms, I was so happy! Cannot thank that divine creature enough! From there everything was just a wonderful, fun & ecstatic blur with delicious cocktails, food & a happy birthday dessert brought out. The service was fantastic (thanks Alejandro & team) & I could not have been happier. They absolutely MADE my boyfriends birthday so extremely special! After dinner they escorted us into the lounge where we had s few more cocktails before calling it a full & very magical night. Will happily return soon & cannot recommend this place enough!

Remarkable

By Gene C |

This was our first visit to Komodo. We liked that itemsxare served as they are finished and not left sitting under heat lamps. The appetizers and side dishes are amazing. Do not skip the mushroom dumplings or the roasted brussel sprouts. No kidding, those dishes were outstanding.

Great Food, Terrible Service! Discrimination?

By anafelix1 |

While on a Girls Trip I decided on this place as the final dinner for my 35th Bday Getaway to Miami. The music was good, the plates were delicious, I left with an incredibly sour taste in my mouth due to the poor service. The tab was over $1K and while we were aware of the priciness of this place for a dinner for a group of 6. It felt terrible paying for it considering the terrible service we received while out on my birthday dinner. For context we were pretty low-key, we had not been drinking group of mostly 30-something black and brown girls and from the moment we entered to the moment we left the service staff seemed bothered with us. Not explicitly rude, but not accommodating either. The food was delicious, drinks were delicious-- appetizers included but the main server did not want to be bothered with us. We had to ask for appetizer plates to be removed after we finished appetizers, and after Our dinner was not served together and when we asked about missing plates, instead of apologizing the server replied again in a bothered and combative tone...that in Asian style restaurants the plates come out one by one...meaning one has to eat while the others plates are served. While we had never heard about this, and having traveled the world we were upset and but did not reply-- if this was the policy at this restaurant we could not do anything. The last and final straw came in the moment that the birthday dessert was sent out with the kitchen staff because our server basically was unwilling to- it made sense. He had been rude the entire night and seemed to not want to serve us (a group of black and brown women) for some reason. He was able to get away with that type of behavior because the tip was automatically included since we were a group of 6. Imagine an automatic tip for a $1K plus tip. Thats $200 while being rude. I am extremely disappointed as the food was really good, the music was good and this place was highly recommended. I could not even take more than a few bites of the duck which was SO good. Shame on the server, and shame on the server for not having quality controls in place!

Overrated... nothing to add! Bad experience!

By geraudmazel |

Waiting 40 mn even with a reservation, no smiling people, low medium quality of food which does not deserve at all the paid price!!!! Bad experience!

Great but too noisy

By richard N |

Charming spot, but not for my age, unfortunately. I think the noise should be better controlled. The food was good.

As a family of 7 (all adults)

By unhappypatr0n |

As a family of 7 (all adults) frequented Komodo last evening. Let me start by saying the hype is real, food was great however a few things I think could be improved to make it a fantabulous excursion. Let’s start with positives: Positive: Food was AMAZING...from the porterhouse tuna, cod, skirt steak, sweet potatoes, Brussels, shrimp fried rice...not a single complaint Positive: They did everything to accommodate my niece who has a TON of allergies with zero issues Needs improvement: food came at different times....main courses came for 4 guests and 2 meals took another 15 minutes...odd Needs improvement: while service was extra attentive a few things that felt off: our waitress never made it around full table to get ALL appetizer orders, same thing happened with drinks, I wanted another glass of wine, waitress acknowledged but never showed back up Needs improvement: felt rushed and when we got Bill with added tip our waitress told us that is the ‘pool’ and if we want to give something to her we need to add it in separate AKWARD All in all very satisfied with meal but prices demand exemplary service so felt it important for me to narrate experience for others

Great option in the heart of Brickell

By Hugo O |

If you’re looking for a stylish, fun night out in Brickell—something showy, with good food, good drinks, and Instagram‑worthy settings—Komodo won’t disappoint. Go in expecting extravagance, not bargain. It’s great for celebrations or impressing someone, but maybe not the best choice if you want a low‑key, quiet, or budget‑friendly meal.

Great for special occasion!!

By Manny A |

This is a great place to go with a large group and celebrate an occasion. The restaurant is just huge and has multiple levels. Service was great and friendly and the food was very good with some unique items. It does get extremely busy, especially on the weekends so reservations are a must. Parking is a breeze with valet service. This is a pricey place, so expect to spend about $100 per person, including drink, appetizer and main plate. Worth it for a special occasion.

What the helly kind of service was this!!!

By Paige S |

We visited this restaurant this past weekend for a bachelorette dinner with a large group (20+ people) and had made a reservation in advance. Despite the size of our party, we were assigned only one server, which seemed like an oversight and contributed to several service delays throughout the evening. Once seated, we were given time to review the menu and placed our cocktail orders. Unfortunately, only about half of the table received their drinks after about half an hour, while the rest of us waited over an hour to get ours. We placed our food orders next. I have a food allergy and appreciated that the server loosely reviewed which menu items were safe for me. However, after the final order was taken, we were told for the first time that the restaurant serves in a family-style format, with dishes being placed wherever there’s space on the table. For a group dining here for the first time, this would have been important to explain up front—especially for guests with allergies. When I asked for clarification on whether my dish could be brought directly to me due to the allergy, I didn’t receive a clear answer. Beverage service was also poor, and many of us resorted to going to the bar directly to order drinks, which we received much faster than through our server. To add to the frustration, when we noticed several missing food items, our server denied any accountability instead of helping us resolve the issue. After the fact, we also realized that we had been double charged for some items. Unfortunately, given the delays in service and the need to leave for our next scheduled event, we didn’t have time to properly review the bill while still at the restaurant. Lastly, despite noting the special occasion when making the reservation, there was no acknowledgment of the bachelorette celebration at any point during the evening. While the food itself was enjoyable, the overall experience fell short. For a restaurant that accepts large group reservations, improved communication, better staffing, and greater attention to guest experience and billing accuracy are essential Overall takeaway: Food was decent Service was Abysmal at best Atmosphere was good, the service took away from the experience & the bathrooms were incredibly small for such a large restaurant.

No respect for customers

By massimiliano d |

We had a reservation, 4 people, at 9.30, we had to queue in line for almost ten minutes just to speak to the hostess. She said they would give us our table right away, but 30 minutes later we are still waiting in a lounge packed with people with no room to move. At that point we pushed our way to the hostess again to ask for an update, and only then she told us with no apologies or anything that they were running about 1 hour late. Meanwhile based on an incomprehensible order other people who clearly came after us were seated. They do not call your name or buzz your phone so the queu is totally random. In addition there are a lot of questionable people around, including many rather old men with very young girls. Do not waste your money or time here.

Overpriced, pushed out in a hurry, and rude bouncers at the door

By Maria G |

We had a party of five at Komodo. The food was average and prices were exorbitant and extremely high. Two small pieces of nigiri, which were smaller than my son’s finger, cost almost $30. We had a few plates of sushi, fried chicken, two glasses of wine, and two appetizers and spent almost $400! Notably, they also rushed us out and the tables were packed together so you can barely move. As we left, I was bumped by several servers and the bouncer at the door was very rude to us because we paused at the entrance for a moment. We do not recommend this place, and will also be telling the rest of our friends and family in Miami about this bad experience. We will not be visiting again. This should not be the experience in such an expensive restaurant! One good point: Our waiter was lovely, pleasant, and helpful.

Long wait with reservation.

By Jonathan9 |

Horrible experience 30-40min wait with reservation for 1:45min. Walked out after speaking to manager. They clearly overbook it all the time No other top restaurants in Miami practicing that.

The best Peking Duck

By RenatodiCaprio |

Always the best Peking Duck in Miami. Great to sit outside with plenty of ventilation, it’s also a great place if you prefer sitting outside these days. The sushi and other dishes also very good. Service tops.

Bad treatment at the entrance

By amigos8 |

The arrogant entrance staff They don't respect reservations, they put people in however they want Inside, the food is very good and. Good service They should know that one makes a reservation for dinner and not a club If you are willing to endure their abuse, go If not, better go somewhere else.

paying for experience but...

By Rebecca |

worth spending $35 for one roll. Thou you are paying for the ambience and notoriety. It is definitely worth a stop when in Miami.

Good food and nice atmo

By yassou |

The hostess made us wait 30min before giving us the worse table upstairs hiding !!! We were about to leave but then they decide that we deserved a nicer table down in the middle of the restaurant…it was frustrating to wait this long and be welcomed in such way but in the end we were happy with the table, the food was really nice overall and the service was good as well. So it’s a mixed feeling experience… I believe an effort should be made by the ladies welcoming us , or else the food is good

Great for Drinks and Socializing.. . STAY away for Dinner!

By Maggie R |

Komodo has a way too hefty price tag on food items for their portions and with so many other restaurants in the area, its simply not the best choice for a nice dinner outing. The servings and tasting is nothing spectacular for the amount of $$$$$ you will be charged. If you want to have drinks, see some beautiful Miami faces and socialize with just a few appetizers then Komodo is a great venue with amazing gardens and atmosphere. But do yourself a favor, have dinner somewhere else. Their rent is high and the food prices are simply outrageous for what you get.

Almost a 5

By Mike4TraveI |

Exceptional food & service! Go for their tapas. Good way to taste your way through their offerings. Sticky ribs, Duck lettuce wraps, dragon roll, calamari salad. All good! The only issue was 4 people at a table near us smoking marijuana and the odor of it was very prevalent. No one from the staff did anything about it. We should have made a complaint but did not. That is the only reason they did not get a 5.

Great bar vibe

By www.DinedThereSippedThat.com |

Had a great night here after a dinner elsewhere, enjoying several rounds of drinks at the bar. Great glitzy Miami vibe without any snobby patrons. Even though the bar was slammed the bartenders did not give any preferential treatment to one demographic or another, they were all very quick and orders were correct. It was one of those spur of the moment things that ended Up being a perfect night and would definitely recommend it for the bar scene, can’t comment on the food.

Now I understand why everyone comes to Komodo!

By Jason G |

You have to ask Junior, the bartender, for his tequila espresso martini, and for his opinion on the best dishes on the menu. I had the spicy tuna roll and was amazed by the flavor and texture of each bite. Oscar and Lindsay were friendly and attentive. It's nice to see bartenders working as a team to ensure a great guest experience.

Worst restaurant in Miami.

By Lexie O |

Worst experience I have ever had in Miami. Rudest staff and managers and they do not care. Had a reservation and waited over an hour and a half for my table. Was then brought to a high top on the third floor secluded from the entire restaurant.

One stop shop for a fun night out

By lyndeeh2014 |

This was my first visit. I would recommend going outside to the back bar for a drink instead of the bar by the hostess stand. The back bar had plenty of room. We had a table outside. Service was fantastic. We ordered Waygu dumpings. They were fantastic. Waygu fried rice was good. I loved desert. We had the white chocolate raspberry dumplings. I will be back. After dinner go upstairs to the lounge. They have a DJ. It was a fun end to the night. One stop shop.

Not good. OVER RATED!

By Floridian57 |

OVER RATED!!! Soooo over rated. Waited over an hour for our reserved table. Staff rude and entitled. Restaurant was soo crowded. Server was nice but overall experience was sooo bad. Food was ok but over priced. Please do yourself a favor and go somewhwere else. Never going again.

Def worth going to again!

By Darren L |

Amazing food and experience !! Our server was great too. Pricey but probably typical for Miami. The entire experience was enjoyable.

GREAT FOOD, MUSIC BUT SERVICE MUST IMPROVE

By J M |

I am a regular at Komodo Miami, i really like the duck, and the food is really good, on my last 2 visits, our servers were distracted and we had to call them multiple times, and they forgot the ponzu sauce and some drinks, even-though i really like this place and the music and people are awesome.

Amazing food

By Aimee H |

Duck is amazing here great service and vibe overall. Definitely recommend for a date night gets lively after dinner. Xx

SO MUCH RUDE!

By Rosviross |

RIDICULOUS! CHANGE JOBS! Dispassionate advice? DON'T GO THERE! We booked a table for 10pm, complete with confirmation requested by credit card and an invitation to show up no later than 10.15pm (under penalty of cancellation of the reservation and a penalty of $35 per person). Arriving like clockwork on time, we are told to wait at the bar. After a good 40 minutes of waiting, we were told (in a rather annoyed manner) by the waitresses that we would have to wait another 15 minutes to get our table. Needless to say, we left (like many customers before us). Ps: the restaurant was FULL OF EMPTY TABLES. Pay more staff if you want to offer at least a DECENT service!

Good but I won't go back

By Selia |

The food was good. But the waiting time for the table was too long. The lady at reception was overwhelmed and not very pleasant. We waited 50 minutes to get our table.

Amazing food? This is not the place.

By Gelso |

If you go to Komodo because you're looking for an amazing dinner: FORGET, it won't happen! But you will pay a truly exceptional BILL. If you go because you need to show everyone your outfit or your suntan, this is the place!

Overcharged and underwhelming

By Jacky |

I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone. Overpriced, mediocre service, food was average for the cost. Our leftovers were not even given to us in their entirety AND the leftovers packaged for our duck included the bones we'd already eaten the meat off I was overcharged as apparently "everyone knows gratuity is included" but it was not stated to us. Ended up over tipping, which was not deserved to begin with. Tried reaching out to them over 5 times asking them to refund me one of the two gratuity charges, with no response. Disputed the charges with American Express and this "fine dining establishment" denied it and says I'm responsible for the extra charges. Save yourself the time, excessive money, and underwhelming experience and go anywhere else in Miami.

Consistently excellent

By Tom H |

So we live down the street from Komodo and have been there many times. It is always excellent - great service and great food. Last time we had Andrew from San Diego as our waiter - he and the assisting staff were top notch. We had Peking Duck for the first time and Andrew said - this will sound strange, but have the savory noodles with the duck. The combo was delicious. We also had the Wagyu dumplings (amazing), seabass skewers and the sticky ribs (wow). Komodo is not cheap but it's worth it.

The worse experience I ever have !

By Noa Meltzer |

The food want tasty , the service was not nice and the price of the food doesn’t worth it . Really do not recommend !!!!

Delicious!!!

Great time, great meal, great service, great experience. Will come back. Super recommended to have a good time.

A vibe

By Ted D |

So if you haven’t heard or new to Miami Komodo is one of the hot spots in Brickell. The local has an amazing decor from the main indoor bar, to the levels of interior dining riddled with dim lighting and illuminated rose lights to mirror cherry blossoms. Outdoor you get a great photo-op in the Tulum like jungle decor on both first and second level. PRO TIP: make a reservation because even on a Thursday night it is bumping with a DJ. PRO PRO TIP: be on time, because passed the 15min grace period your table may be given away. So I’ve tried a range of the menu (the PORK STICKY RIBS, LOBSTER DYNAMITE, CRACKLING CALAMARI SALAD, WAGYU SKIRT STEAK TACOS, and the GRILLED SHISHITO PEPPERS) I must say I was won over by the starters alone. My personal favorites were the sticky ribs and lobster dynamite. The ribs were crispy and fell off the bone, I know because no silverware was provided. The lobster dynamite was full of flavor and light on every bite. For dinner I had the GRILLED SZECHUAN BEEF which I highly recommend. The whole dish is delicious and can be eaten with chop sticks. The beef was tender, flavors were overpowering, and cooked to my choice (medium). For drinks PRO TIP: Try the passion-ginger mule & the Paloma. PRO PRO TIP: requested to be seated inside main first floor. Now the reason this gets less than 5 is the service. I’ve been 2x now and the second time was inconsistent service. My server was training for ninja school and I must say he did a great job. I barely saw him and had to chase him down to get my second drink, get utensils, and pay. All in all service needs to be consistent. #comeonDO

High Clientele Dinner (17 ppl)

By Moira M |

I had made a group reservation for our clients here at BirdieBox and Arami Avalos was my Event Mgr. She created me a beautiful pre-fix menu that our clients were very impressed with and everything was perfect and the service everyone that evening with our table (I've never experienced). We had left over food and they packed it for us, the servers even offered to take it to my courier who we invited for dinner but he ended up sitting outside in the van. Long story short we got him a taste of every fabulous dish from the Komodo Chicken Salad, Sea Bass Skewers, Peking duck..etc! What can I say we were a tricky bunch but you all were flawless and THANK YOU Arami Avalos and your entire team that evening. Look forward to booking again with you all in the near future. :) Moira BirdieBox
