Felt like being back in Asia loved it

By Oracle808 |

Good food and fun! There was a group of seven us. We all ordered a protein a piece ( from tongue to chicken ), yaki man doo and a jalapeño peasano. Then they bought about 15 side dishes at least. Yum yum . I didn't give it the extra star because I thought the meat was good but not the best I ever had. Overall good eats and a great way to spend the night out.

Dinner

I lived in S Korea for a year. I love Korean food. Had dinner here yesterday, with a friend who is Korean, before going to the movie in the same shopping center. The Bulgogi, kimchi, and wonton soup were all authentic and delicious, and service was great. Very reasonably priced as well.

I love Korea food!

超級喜歡他們家的海鮮泡菜豆腐鍋,湯底很美味!隨餐附上六種小菜,可以續加~ We order soon tofu soup(kimchi tofu soup). It’s so good ! The dishes came with six appetizers and you can refill. Servers are friendly. I’ll try Korea BBQ next time.

High end Korean food with excellent sushi bar

By mikesabirder |

I have been going to the Korea House for years to get the best Bul-Gul-Gi Bar-B-Que and sushi in Austin! These guys are excellent. The Sushi chef (once he gets to know you) sends out complementary dish of sushi every time we come in. We get the sushi lunch C (each of us) and order a spicy Tuna roll. It's more than enough for two and our bill is around $30. A great bargain for awesome sushi served by awesome folks! We will go here until we die or they close!!! Great Korean food.

My favorite "original" Korean restaurant!

By csbernard |

Don't go here looking for extravagant settings or a quiet, high end ambiance for your dining experience. My husband spent 9 years in Korea as a teenager and speaks fluent Korean. This is one of those jewels in the city that is just set in the middle of an older "strip area." It is off of Anderson Lane in the north part of Austin. Their Bulgogi is the real thing. Their kimchi is fresh and their sushi bar rivals any in town. It's worth the visit. They have the tables where you can cook your own (which is a common tradition in Korea) or standard tables. It is what I would call a little hole in the wall but the food is 5 star. We come here on a regular basis when we go out.

Still here

Met a friend for lunch and was excited to try the bento box or lunch specials because we used to come here looong time ago mostly for dinner but heard their lunch is better now, fresher because more clientele. She got a korean soup that looked really good, piping hot-soon du bu-tofu soup and with that you get all the panchans. I was told you can share panchans if one person gets it but I felt bad doing that so I let her enjoy it all to herself even though many of the side dishes she didn't touch and I really wanted some lol. I got the bento box because I like variation and like combo meals. In a bento box you get to try a little bit of everything so I was really looking forward to it. It all came out pretty fast and the lunch crowd was rolling in. The sushi people are making sushi and kept staring at us while we talked. This is just a side observation just to let you know that lunch here is not a place to talk, doddle and have quiet conversations-you should be expected to eat and go on weekdays :p Anyways, I did enjoy my bento box. I wished the tempura was hotter. I did like the sushi-it was fresh and tasty. Salmon, tuna and 4 pcs of cali rolls. I did enjoy those. Definitely not the highest quality sushi but not bad at all, definitely not buffet quality so that was good. I liked their miso soup. There was some salad and a very small raw fish side and I ordered bulgogi bento box-you can get chicken as well. All in all it was tasty-not totally wowed but really good. This was before I went to Odaku and tried their bento box. Anyways, again, consistent fare here. I stil have that image or rumor that they reuse their kimchee so I was wary of this but my husband's work and colleagues come here often and they are fine so that's why I wanted to try. And wasn't a bad experience. They aren't the nicest staff here, ok for an asian restaurant probably nicer if you spoke Korean, but cordial enough..maybe back for lunch-prices are reasonable for lunch. This is a rather small place inside a shopping business area with a small koi pond outside. Been here forever and will probably will still be here for awhile since there aren't too many korean restaurants to compete with. Not bad if you aren't too picky for some home korean food.

Great Koean

By EricPBliss |

Delicious. We try Korean and Japanese fare all over Austin in a search for what will fill the stomach best. Korea House did well...the sushi chef was friendly and treated us to some temaki and some sashimi while we were simply ordering. Just amazing. The Bibimbop my wife had was tasty while I had the pork bulogi and we also sampled a spicy yellowltail roll and some escolar and tako. All really generous portions, and fresh. We'll be back, but I pray soju wull be available next time. Sake and Japanese beers are great...but I was really craving Soju and have to knock a star off for that oversight.

Good food, kinda overpriced

By StarstruckTraveler |

I was invited to go to this place by some friends and I was really excited to try out Korean bbq. The food was great and the service was good. I mean in comparison to other restaurants I have been to the service could have been better. We were a party of 5 and we split the bill so we had calculated to spend 15$-17$ per person using the prices of the menu but when we were going to pay it ended up being more money $27 per person and we didn't order anything extra. So I find this to be really bad because then the prices they have on their menus are wrong or they overcharged us. I wouldn't recommend coming again and if you do come please be careful when you are going to pay.

Awesome Food!

When Craving Korean food while in Austin, I love to come to this place. Very authentic style of cooking and the service is great! They make some awesome naeng myun noodles and I love all the side dishes that come with the meal.

Best Authentic Korean Food

By csbernard |

The last review that I saw was in 2015. I felt KH deserved an updated review. I believe it has not changed owners but has revamped its menu some and they no longer have the sushi bar. BUT it is still the best Korean food in the city I believe. My husband was raised in Korea and we have traveled back quite a few times and KH still delivers the best authentic Korean food that we know. It’s worth a trip, and another one and another one!

I am not a huge fan of asian cuisine so take this review with a pinch of salt. My spouse and friends though, enjoyed the food and liked what they ordered. The ambiance is okay and the grill on tables concept is pretty neat.

Yum, Yum, YUM!

By cmoonie |

In over 25 years of living in Austin, I cannot explain why I do not go to Korea House more often??? We went last night and had a FEAST! Shared the sweet potato noodles with seafood, the sashimi rice bowl, and a futo maki roll! Took an extra futomaki home for breakfast. I love the little sides! The potatoes are the BEST! Great service, great family, couples, singles place. Great food!

great service, great selections of entrees

By arleneb5900 |

great service, wonderful atmosphere. exceptional entree selections. you cook the entire meal based on the entree you select. great place for family and business associates. mid price range bring a big appetite.

Great Korean treat

By Elvor |

It's an authentic Korean restaurant where you get to cook your own food right on the grill on your table. We have tried octopus, chicken, duck, etc and they came out delicious. We enjoyed the side items as well.

Lunch offerings were spot on

By Casey C |

Fourth time at the restaurant and has always met expectations. Have ordered the lunch box 3 times and really like the variety of offerings. Spice is just right and tempura was light and crispy. One time we ordered a kimchi pancake and that must be an acquired taste! Love the beef and pork offerings!

BBQ is good

By Bee L |

All the meats for BBQ are really awesome! But the waitresses there are really ' awesome' too. They are just give u a crying n angry face like u are doing something to their family!

Decent Bugoli, lots of side dishes

By Gary T |

We dropped in around 7 on a Saturday night and the place was quite busy. Despite that they had us seated in less than 5 minutes. My wife ordered Chicken Bulgoli and I ordered Beef Bulgoli. The food was served quickly with a plate of rice and ~ 10 small side dishes of Korean style vegetables. With the exception of the brown beans all the side dishes were delightful. The Chicken Bulgoli was moist and yummy while the Beef Bulgoli was a bit dry but very tasty. Service was prompt, polite and friendly. Next time I'm going to try the "short ribs", they looked delicious.

Not as good as previous stops

By wacotom |

I always like the Korean Dosot (sp??) Bab Bim Bap (the one in the hot bowl. Although the food was OK I thought they are getting a little skimpy on the little dishes of condiments, certainly would have liked more kimchi and spicy veggies. My wife likes this place so we get here ocassionally. I think there are better Korean restaurants in Austin so this is just an average stop. Nothing really bad but nothing that makes me want to stop here often.

Best Korean Restaurant in Austin!

By MrS Moya Langley |

Husband and I come to eat every week, I have to say we always order the same thing (pork bulgogi and Galbi); but they are always so delicious we can't resist. I'll say the sides make it a home run though as they are plentiful and very tasty (best kimchi I've ever had). The service is always great and fast. I totally recommend it!

Best bday dinner celeb

By livelovex7 |

New owners and it shows!!! Had the most yummy ladies bday dinner here the other night with the most amazing service. Thank you Aaron Hong for making it a memorable night. Food recs were spectacular. Loved every bit of it. The seafood pancake was the best I've had. I loved my yukgejang. The ladies raved about their dumpling rice cake soup. You can tell they boiled the bone broth for days. Its that good. So delish. I am craving some right now with the cold front lol Fresh panchans. Tender kalbi. Crispy delicious dumplings. And yummy mochi ice cream for dessert. What more can you ask for? Definitely better than the past Korea house for sure. Cleaner. More spacious. Loved it. Upping the stars on my review because new owners and new place. Well deserved. And you get a free mandoo for checking in, what? Awesome. Check out my delicious food. And check out this place. We will be back

One Word - Bulgogi!

By YLangenbach |

I have always ordered the spicy pork bulgogi whenever we visit this place. This dish always satisfies me, and the side dishes are healthy and sumptuous! Lately, I found out that their rainbow roll is also a delicious choice! The place needs some improvement, but the staff is always friendly.

Authentic korean

By Michael R |

Long time Korean authentic Austin restaurant. BBQ available as well as soups and sushi. Tight seating when crowded.

Standard Korean menu

By Michael R |

Standard menu, staff less bi-lingual than other Korean restaurants and always seem understaffed. The Sushi chef always seems pleasant.

I’m excited to write this

By Ronaldo B |

I’m excited to write this review because dining at Korea House 2 weekends in a row was a wonderful experience.Full disclosure, it’s been at least 15 years since we’ve eaten here, and our last experience was terrible. The service was especially bad and the food was off. Because we own a business nearby we thought enough time had passed that we thought we’d give it another try. I’m so glad that we did. The seafood and Kimchi pancakes were the best we’ve ever eaten. And we’ve travelled to Korea! The crust was crispy and the toppings were generous. The banchans were fresh and tasty, and the meats that we grilled at our table were beautiful. I highly recommend the spicy squid or baby octopus, and the beef tongue was incredibly tender. The service was also excellent. The manager, Aaron, visits each table insuring an enjoyable experience. We won’t be eating at our old favorites in Austin anymore, there’s just no comparison. My only disappointment is that the restaurant doesn’t serve Pa Muchim, the scallion salad that we’ve enjoyed at every other Korean restaurant we’ve ever eaten at. It’s especially good when served with the grilled meats. Aaron, maybe you should think about adding this to your menu. It won’t keep us from coming back, but it would be a lovely addition. I highly recommend this restaurant, and am eager to branch out exploring more of the menu! Enjoy!

Long Drive for a Poor Meal

By Edmundo_de_ABQ |

We had high hopes for a unique Korean BBQ dining experience, but we left very disappointed with this restaurant. Upon entering we couldn't help but notice how badly this place needs a facelift. It is old and tired, along with the restrooms being substandard. Not an appealing environment at all. We asked to be seated at one of their few tables having built in gas BBQ grills; the grilling unit looked like it was from the 50's and the tables small and uneven. The guests I was with were happy with their BBQ meals and I regret not ordering one of them. Instead, the shrimp and vegetable tempura combo sounded good to me so that's what I ordered. Big mistake! Instead of the shrimp and veggies being in a delicate, crispy, light, fluffy batter, the order arrived in a huge woven basket. I knew something was wrong when I lifted the basket and it felt like a ten pound weight! The shrimp and veggies were prepared and proportioned in such a gross manner that each piece felt unusually weighty and was tough to the bite into due to their density. I don't know what the cook did but my tempura was too dense and heavy to enjoy, not the light and crispy dish that tempura should be. I won't be going back here ever again.

I highly enjoyed my yukejang. The service was amazing and the soup was delicious. I recommend this place for good Korean food. The atmosphere is nice with a great view.

Reliable, tasty and inexpensive

By Siempreviv |

My partner and I go here fairly frequently. My partner usually gets the pork bulgogi, which is delicious, and I alternate between a number of things on the menu. Tonight I had the baby octopus stirfry thingy, and it did not disappoint. Just the right amount of spice and had a good serving of vegetables. The sushi is good too. Definitely not the best or most creative in town, but it is cheap and good and gets the job done when you're craving sushi but not feeling like dropping a hundo. I recommend going here for a cheap weeknight dinner. Probably not good for a date or for trying to impress your highfalutin friends.

Unassuming restaurant great food

By Bianca B |

I learned to love Korean food in this restaurant. I have been coming for lunch or dinner, alone and with friends and family for a few years and I have never been disappointed. I have had every single dish in the menu: but the Korean BBQ is exceptional. Also the deals for lunch during the week are unbeatable, for less that 10 dollars you can have a full and delicious meal, their sushi and spring rolls are one of the best I have had. The service is very good and the restaurant low key, is one of Austin's true gems.

Korean BBQ at your table

We have enjoyed eating tasty Korean beef and chicken, plus other meat items on other trips. All the yummy extras they bring are delightful and tasty. We also tried a tofu and mushroom soup that was delicious!

My daughter's favorite

By PeterPakChong |

My daughter has been going on at me at about this place for ages. In the end I relented and on the way there I took the wind out of her sales and said "I think know this place - it's where I used to go before you were born". And to my amazement it was. Last time I ate there the lunch was $4.50. It went up to $5 and that was it for me. Never been since. Well now you need an Amex Platinum card. Well it's not quite that bad but it is very easy to get a very large bill. The food was fine - maybe very good, but I am getting cheap in my old age, and I am not into impressing girls on a date any more. My daughter said the prices are typical for Austin and that I am losing touch with the world. How she knows on her meager wages I don't know. Rich boyfriends maybe! The staff was great. The server said she had been there for ever - ten years. I said I used to come regularly 25 years ago and she looked at me like I should be in the grave, and maybe she was right. So, I don't know what to say. I am getting like my mother used to be I think. Outraged by prices. And the last time they washed the windows and frames outside was 25 years ago. Utterlly disgusting. I hope the kitchen is not like that. Impressions count in my book. And the outside impression is bad. I did not have the sushi but it looked excellent. Sorry I am not saying nicer things. The more of these reviews I write, the more honest I get unfortunately.

Really good korean food, I felt like in Korea!

Excellent korean restaurant, really aunthentic food. We were a group of colleagues and we enjoy a korean bbq, which was fantastic. Also the sides were tasty. Recommended!

The hipster house

By James M |

This used to be a genuine Korean place to get original homemade Korean food. I have been eating here since 1995. The pork bulgoki used to be so spicy only a few dared to order it. They toned it down to cater to the people complaining of the spice. That was one of the first changes I noticed years ago. It slowly but surely started to change from a place for a Koreans to feel at home to the American who thought it would be neat to try Korean food. It was a secret place with original Korean food as it should be back in Korea. They have changed the menu and changed the portions. They also raised the prices significantly, which I would have gladly paid if they stayed original. I am unhappy with the changes and they have lost a customer of almost 25 years. I’m sure it is still grea5 food in some respect. But it’s not even close to what it used to be. My entire family is distraught over the new changes and non of us will eat there again. It’s stilll a good place to eat. But it’s not the Original Korea House that I once loved.

still ok

By livelovex7 |

haven't been here in awhile and nice to come back..panchans are fresh..prices are to be expected..however bibimbap is small, wish it had more to it..dumplings were not good this time around, yukgijang was decent, kalbitang was ok, their udon was decent and their yakisoba was not yakisoba..but heard their lunches are really good esp. bento boxes and lunch specials..so would rather go there for lunch

Patio-Dining Only

By Yaz |

At the moment they only have patio dining available and although it was cold and raining, they were more concerned with hanging the lights in the patio than keeping their guests warm with the heaters they had stored in their dining area. All staff we wearing sweaters but I rate them low because of customer service. The spicy stew was mediocre but maybe I just ordered something I didn’t like.

my firest experiene

By J E |

Recently went here with a friend. My first experience at a Korean restaurant. The guy that sat us asked if we wanted to cook our own food or did we want them to cook it. We said them. Then he showed us what we could order on the menu based on where we sat. I found it funny however, I guess it is common. I didn't go crazy and just ordered the Bokkeumbap which translates to fried rice with shrimp. Food came out quickly and they brought about six sides in little white bowls. Service was nice. The place is in the back of the shopping center and a bit hidden. What a cute shopping center. Outside the restaurant is a little pond. Plenty of parking. It was a good first experience.

Korea House; A Real Korean Dining Experience

By MoDa0206 |

Korea House in Austin is actually operated by Korean Americans. Why would I open this blog with a non-politically correct statement? Well, the food selection and dining experience is reminiscent to my dining experiences when I lived in South Korea. The food and format is modern Korean style and not the stereo typical Korean (or Asian) American fusion that seem to be the current dining rage. This restaurant is not all things Asian food, thus no fusion thingy. This is Korean dining and the Korea House operators know what they are doing. The atmosphere and the staff will impress you, the food will bring you back. Diners can order by the plate or cook over an open fire. Cooking over an open fire seems to adds character, turning a normal outing into an actual memorable event. We want most of our outings to be memorable events, thus this is how we do it when we bring a crew. Isn't having a great time the point of dining out. We ordered Gajami Maeuntang, Japchae, Tangsuyuk, Bulgogi Jungsik, and Kalbi Gui Jungsik. Be advised, you pay for what you get, so bring your wallet for this special event.

Won't be Back

By InkedCelticCross |

Decor is in much need of repair (flooring, chairs, tables). Floors were filthy. Dinnerware reminds me of 1950's cafeteria. Food was less than favorable or enjoyable. None could finish their meal.

Delicious and authentic

By L. Farrah Jones |

The atmosphere here reminds me of some cozy restaurants in Asia. Lots of Korean ladies brought tiny plates of pickled vegetables around on a cart—side dishes to a truly delicious dolsot bibimbap (~$12). I loved the crisping rice in this literally hot dish, and the portion of meat was very modest rather than overhwhelming. The food was all delicious.

Delicious, pleasant meal

By lovefoodinCM |

This was our first time here. We ordered the Dolsot Bibimbop and the Kimchi Tofu Stew/Soup which came with side dishes. Everything was delicious. We ate everything and left nothing! The restaurat atmosphere was nice and relaxing. We enjoyed dining here. Service=4, Food=5, Value=4.

Consistant Sushi Value Spot

By Chuck C |

I have been going to this hidden sushi location off Anderson Lane for ten years. It is buried in the middle of a shopping center near the Alamo Draft House, but it can not be seen from the street...one must wander thru the maze to find this gem. I had dinner there last night and found the same quality with fresh sushi and reasonable combination plates that can be customized. The owner chef still recognizes me after, even after extensive over seas travel and we share the latest foreign policy/history/intrigue relating to the Korean peninsula while he prepares my meals.

Great foodie experience

By flksfhtx |

Staff was wonderful and service was great even though they were short handed. Great selection of traditional Korean dishes and the portions were large enough for two people. Recommend the Gimbap and the spicy pork.

Nice food

By David G |

Staff not very friendly but efficient, nice Korean food. It was a good surprise in Texas. The sides where adapted for locals the had beans and jalapeño.

Love their beef short ribs!!!

By RWG7777 |

Great place to go with a group and overall really good food. We tried 3 different dishes family style and they were all really good, but the beef short ribs were great!

Extremely Poor Service

By Sjkim0509 |

I was here recently with a group of 7 people. We ordered about 4 plates of meat for our first round. When we got the plates, we were shocked at how TINY they were. One plate had barely enough meat for one person, which is ridiculous because each plate costs about $13-$15. They gave us rice in one plate of the same small kind, so we asked for another (because obviously that amount of rice could only feed 3 people maximum). Halfway through our meal when we asked for more side dishes, our waiter expressed his annoyance by huffing and not smiling the whole time. After he brought out refills for about two of our side dishes, we realized we had finished our kimchi as well and asked him for a refill for that, too. This time he told us that we couldn't get any more side dishes. It was the first time we had ever been told we were not allowed any more, and we could understand his case if we had been a smaller group. But with seven of us, we barely had enough for everybody with only one, again, tiny portion. We tried not to let it ruin our meal, but I think our experience from there on out just went downhill. We resentfully had to order more plates of meat to feed all of us since the amount of meat was so small per plate. And only after we had ordered more plates of meat did we get more rice. When we needed our grill replaced, our waiter straight up said "That is not my job." I don't understand why he couldn't have just told us that because it wasn't his job, he would let the appropriate staff know that we had been needing our grill replaced? Why is it our job to figure out who replaces the grills, especially when nobody but our waiter visits our table and everybody working there avoids eye contact in fear of getting seemingly ridiculous requests for more rice/side dishes to feed their customers? I would much rather go anywhere else for Korean BBQ next time because at this place, it is certainly not about the service, and the food wasn't good enough for me to overlook it. Go anywhere else for Korean BBQ and I guarantee you that you won't go home feeling so rejected and unsatisfied.

More authentic Korean restaurant than others

By Michael R |

Wide variety if most Korean staples. BBQ not normally seen during day. Many soups and also sushi. Parking can be difficult at times.

Highly recommend

I ordered the Bibimbap which was out of this world delicious! My friend ordered the Bulgogi Beef also a very delicious meal! The side of Asian pickles were so tasty too! I can't wait to go back with my husband!

Get the bulgogi

By Seaweed1970 |

I've been to Korea and this is as good as I've had Korean cuisine stateside. I'd recommend the beef bulgogi, and make sure you order it spicey. It comes with a ton of side dishes- kimchi and pickled or fried tofu and fish cakes- so long as you order the dinner portion. Great meal and very good value. Sushi is okay, but not their specialty.

Great bulgogi and still the small feel restaurant.

By csbernard |

This place has been open for years and it is still owned by Koreans. My husband lived his early childhood years to 17 in Seoul, Korea and knows a lot of the Korean community here in Austin. We have gone to Korea House for as long as it’s been here. Yes, it changed its way of doing things but it is still serving up amazing Korean food. Their bulgogi is still so so good. So, give it a try!

Made me sick

By Neil C |

After getting several recommendations to go to this restaurant, I tried it during lunch time. The first thing that hit me was that the place smelled bad. That's not something I worry about too much as I eat in alot of hole in the wall ethnic places and taco stands all the time. Next, the service was gruff and a little rude, but once again that is something expected from Korean and Vietnamese restaurants, so no big deal. I ordered the pork lunch special, Pork Bulgogi, which looked appetizing and came with all kinds of pretty looking sides. The Bulgogi tasted ok to average, the sides were still on the ok side. The problem was that it hit me about 30 minutes after I ate it that all was not well and would not be for the rest of the day. Skip this place, I will from now on.

Fun place excellent food just in the outskirts of Austin.

By murrmom |

We love ethnic food. A friend recommended this place, has been going there for many years. His wife is Korean, and this place serves food as close to her family style of cooking, so very authentic. We sat at the traditional table, and we're able to cook our own food which was an excellent choice. It slowed down the pace of dinner, and created time for conversation. On a scale from one to ten, this place was a ten.....very casual, and fun.

Best Korean Food We've Had In Many U.S. Cities

By Ventura Hwy |

We enjoy Korean food and search out Korean restaurants wherever we go. So far, Korea House - tucked unassumingly away in the back of Village Shopping Center off W. Anderson Lane in Austin - is setting the standard for what we consider the best Korean food for regular family dining. Korea House's "banchan" (side dishes) deserve special credit as tasty and varied. For starters, Korea House offers at least kimchi (cabbage kimchi), oi sobagi (cucumber kimchi - my personal favorite), sukjunamul (marinated mung-bean sprouts), kkadugi (radish kimchi), marinated tofu, and pat (azuki beans) with every Korean entree. [I mentioned six banchan, but there's always an odd number, to avoid bad luck.] All the banchan we've had are vegetarian. Rice is also provided, of course. We've tried the spicy pork bulgogi, japchae, golbangyi muchim, sundubu, sangsun jigae, and other dishes. All are delicious, well-seasoned, and so satisfying! We usually accompany our meal with either green or buckwheat tea. The atmosphere at Korea House is welcoming and unassuming. It's not a fancy place, and that's perfect. It's comfortable with attentive service and delicious food. For a brief period in 2014 - 2015, we were working out of state. We had one weekend back in Austin...and you know straight where we headed from the airport! Not quite our last meal, but Korea House is definitely at the head of our list for good eating in Austin! Note about pricing: Korea House prices for the entrees we've gotten are actually lower than the prices we've paid for even "fast food" Korean meals. We consider the bargain prices at Korea House to be yet another reason for considering it one of the best restaurants we regularly visit.

You cook and it is fun

My son treat me to a BBQ at this place. I had a great time, enjoyed the fact that one can cook its own meal and pick and choose their own meats. Everything is fresh and marinated, one cooks in a round ceramic grill with the heat being controlled under the table. To help with the wait they bring several small plates with appetizers consisting of different vegetables and sauces, very neat. Our waitresses were a bit tired for the long shift, we showed up late at night. But still managed to serve us in a timely fashion. Will visit again.

an end of an era for me

So sad, our reliable go to for Korean food has made changes that mean I won't be back after many years (20+) of great food. The sushi bar is gone and is not coming back. No more spider rolls or tekka maki. I hope their long time sushi chef has landed on his feet elsewhere. He was gracious and make wonderful food. My standard Maeun-tang red snapper tofu soup was not available. They have made some cosmetic changes which look good and installed some new bbq tables. But the banchan were not as good as before either. Time to explore the other places in town of which there are a few.

best bul gogi ever!

This place has been here for an eternity and if you let the appearance scare you off yo will miss some of the best korean food in Austin! It is a hole in the wall type of place with fabulous food and service. There is a good variety of sushi and rolls as well as a good main course selection. I ususally get the beef bul gogi because I am addicted, but end up sharing with the others so we all get to try all of the dishes. The prices as a bit high but not unreasonable for a meal of this caliber!
