We picked up lunch from this restaurant twice in the last 2 weeks. Loved the vegetarian BiBimBap (with tofu instead of meat), Tofu JapChae and Tofu soup (spicy with kimchi). The side dishes they give fills a whole other large box. Not all of it is vegetarian; the potatoes and beansprouts are delicious. For the price, definitely recommend! The restaurant is small so it fills up quickly.

Usually to get "good" Korean food, you have to go further afield from Seattle city, but this place is fairly decent one in Seattle. The side dishes have some to be desires, but most of the main dishes they sell are good.

We were going to a football game later that night, so the dinner has to be quick to get us on our way. The Korean Tofu House was packed with patrons. We ordered the bulgogi, came on a hot plate. Delicious beef and caramelized onions, very tender. Also ordered the seafood tofu soup. It is very spicy, came with an egg, prawn, and several clams. Lots of tender tofu. Entrees came with 6 different types of side dishes: sliced spicy squid; kimchee; tofu; potato; bean sprouts; onion pancakes. They are all cold, some would have been better if served hot. Quite a pleasant surprise. Ended up with quite a spread. On a very cold day, this definitely hit the spot. The service is so-so, never knew who our server was. Perhaps they took the "team effort" approach. You pay at the hostess stand. Meal, tip, tax came to less than $26.00 It was very fast, and we were on our way. We will definitely come back again.

Ahh, the aroma of spicy soups, grilled meats and fresh ingredients. Not the same as dining in a casual restaurant in Seoul but pretty darn close. You get the side dishes and quiet unassuming servers that are so much like their counterparts in Korea. I had the Dolsat Bibimbap. That's rice cooked in a stone bowl with vegetables meat or tofu and egg. You can top this with a lovely Gochojong sauce. Been here many times. It was very busy today!! Good sign.

Have come here a number of times and have always been pleased. The food is great, and it comes with a healthy portion of Banchan. Place doesn't serve alcohol, but are open to bringing your own, which makes it an even cheaper night out.

Located near University of Washington, this small restaurant is a great Korean restaurant. Small menu but great food. Prices is very reasonable as it intended for college students. The food comes with 5 sides dishes. Their soondubu is good with a few choices available. The soondubu comes bubbling hot, then the server offers to crack the egg into the soondubu for you. We ordered the short ribs, it was tasty. The pajeong was crispy. As they are trying to keep the prices of the food the same. They will assist in 1 refill of the side dishes. Owner & staff are helpful & service is good. Parking is available on the street. All in all, a great experience.

This place was fantastic!!! We all shared, every single dish was amazing. Also not super expensive, highly recommended!!!

I am breaking my usual rule, which is don't review something that's already been reviewed several times. But this food really deserves it. Let's dispense w/ the usual. Decent opportunities for parking but best to find parking anywhere, resign yourself to having a walk and enjoy your walk around "the ave". OK for kids, ok for family dinners, ok for dates if they're concerned about who they eat with and the taste of the food but not the decor. If you're a needy diner, find another place. The waiter is not there to make you feel like you're at the ritz carlton. They get you water (or whatever), they take your order, they give you food, they give you a bill. Your expectations are best left there. You might have to get up and ask for sauce, or more water. The food is worth this inconvenience. Seriously. put on a pair, suck it up or whatever, take a breath and let it go. I'd rather have excellent food than excellent service. They're not bad, just busy. The koreans eating here (I recognize the language and some of the words, so don't even go there.) were happy and chatty and ordered a variety. Seal of approval in my book. Food summary (why's are below): kim chee is great, potato dish is yummy and i hate po ta toes precious, bean sprout dish is super awesome, tofu dish is yum, rice is perfect and that's hard to find around here, bulgogi deserves a championship medal. Kim Chee. If you're eating korean food you're probably into kim chee. This stuff is great. Quite a kick but not hot like lava. A little crispness in the veggies. Salty but not too salty. I don't add salt to my food or cooking, if that's an indication. Misc dishes... the tofu dish is pretty good. I normally don't care for it but I like theirs. Potato dish. Tasty. And I hate taters. precious. Bean sprout (?) sesame flavored- awesome. I could eat a plate of this. Rice. I'm picky about rice. I can tell when a different cook has prepared the rice, if I eat there often enough. The rice is cooked perfectly. Each grain is its individual grain, not some mushy mess. A mushy mess is bad rice, don't accept it. Theirs is perfect. Seafood green onion pancake. Awesome. It's fully cooked- which oddly enough is a problem around here. Many restaurants rush through it. You often get "mostly cooked w/ occasional pockets of mush". <- that is unacceptable. Don't order that again. Here the pancake thing is fully cooked. It has crispness but also a little dough to it (that's fully cooked). The seafood is OK. Some places have more variety but their price is a punch in the face. Here here the price is actually reasonable. Their dipping sauce is 9 out of 10. Not perfect but you may feel it is perfect- we're all different and that's ok. Bulgogi. Somewhere in their kitchen is a cook with a passion for meat. He must be perfecting his art to attract the attention of the BBQ Gods. And they have favored him. His bulgogi is cooked to perfection. It's sauce is perfect. The onions are just right. Not raw, not cooked to soggyness, not a toxic onion breed designed to destroy your mouth (normally hate onions but these are great). And the choice of meat- it's awesome. It's meaty, it's not reminiscent of hamburger with a string of fat coursing through it. Some bulgogi looks grey and hamburgerish. You won't find that here. The bulgogi meat here is *like* very thin slices of steak. It's probably not steak, not sure what cut it is, but it's Amazing. This is where I would get my bulgogi. No other place is worth my time or money, and I've been to numerous korean restaurants. Fancy, middle of the road, and hole in the wall. This one is the best of all. 2 people, w/ left overs, 30 bucks tip incl.

Down the steps for authentic hearty food. Very careful about sanitizing and spacing. Had the hot pot bibimbap. Came out sizzling with lots of veggies and meat. The small plates were simply fun. All seem made in-house and were flavorful. Did mention that the dish was under $10.

Ordered a variety of dishes to go based on hosts recommendations. Got a few different rice and glass noodle dishes along with a few bbq beef, pork and chicken dishes. Kimchee was great as was everything, except was slightly disappointed in the beef short ribs which were very fatty. Would definitely eat here again and higly recommend. Prices very reasonable and portion sizes are generous.

We decided to go to take a look at this place after hearing good things about it online. Not the neatest setting but food makes up for it, very delicious and reasonably priced!

I really like this place in the International District. It is a bright and airy restaurant with a cafeteria like feel to it. The service is brisk and efficient. The kim chee they serve with the meal is tasty and varied, just like I like. The tofu soup is delicious and the other dishes very competently made. You have to like Korean food, spicy, with strong flavors, and garlic. But if you do, this is a very good, every day site to get warmed on a cold day, surrounded by Asians who should know, all appreciating the fare and chatting animatedly, or silently enjoying their experience. As I said in the title. Yum.

It might be a hole-in-the-wall, minimalist operation, but this casual Korean restaurant is worth it. Hearty, generous, and quite spicy with its food but also very reasonable priced, all of which make it enjoyable to the palate and the finances. We stumbled upon it by accident, but so glad we did.

at the time of writing this review, it is 11:51, which is almost an hour after posted opening time. And I'm still standing outside of the restaurant waiting for it to open. this has happened a total of 3 times since I've tried to visit. the first time I had to wait for about 20 minutes and I had to leave due to my schedule. the 2nd time i waited for another 20 minutes and i still had to leave because i was getting really hungry despite the fact that they told me over and over, "5 minutes, 5 minutes." 3rd time, which is this time, i arrived about 30 minutes after opening time, and i still had to wait at least 20 minutes before I can sit down in this restaurant. it's absolutely ridiculous. the 1 time i had food here, the waiter treated me as though i was stupid, since i was unfamiliar with their menu. he scoffed multiple times and he talked in a condescending tone. it was truly an unpleasant experience. needless to say, i left no tip. another instance, I intended to bring my family here for a late meal as they've been on a long 15 hour flight. it was only right to treat them to a good meal. they close at 9pm, we arrived at 8:40. when we entered, the waiter seemed annoyed. we sat down at a table and he constantly told us that it was close to closing time and it felt as if he's trying to chase us off. we sat and ordered food, he then came back and told us we may not get our food as it was close to closing time. so we got up and left. it was all around an unpleasant experience. the don't stick to their closing time, often making their customers wait, and try to close on time and chase off customers who may be a bit late. the waiters also treat customers poorly and it does not feel like what should be common etiquette at all. poor services and untimely schedule. very poor management.

Ducked in for a quick lunch while at a conference at the University. Excellent, authentic Korean food. The ban cha were strong, as was the beef bulgogi. And prices very reasonable. Perfect university-area eatery.

So i came here after a long day of classes and group discussions, and it was a clutch. Got me fueled up of energy again. My friend and I both ordered tofu pots.. although i planned on ordering topokki, which was usually my favorite Korean dish.. but it was a chilly day and I needed something warm and boiling hot! The tofu pots were good.. they met the average but wasn't outstanding. Still a pretty good bargain for its price and it came along with a lot of side dishes. The side dishes were, just like the main course, average at most but acceptable. I liked the kimchi, but I didn't like the pancake causes it was cold and flavorless. Anyway, this is the place to come if you're on a tight budget but was starving. I got wayyy too stuffed after dinner though!
Tasty bargain
A simple basement restaurant aimed at students but with ample good food - order a noodle soup & you'll get several traditional Korean side dishes, all for under $10pp
