Bad lunch

By jpatter1 |

Nice atmosphere. Crab claws swimming in butter were fine; overcooked. Salad was fine. But entrees arrived and all our appetizer plates, including shells stayed on the table until the end. No room. Chicken souflaki was dry and salty. Horiatiki was short on feta and seasoning. Onions were purple and too strong to eat. Took a long time to get the bill. Had to walk across the restaurant to the waiter who was texting to pay out.

Great place to eat

By BookGuy2010 |

We had lunch at Kostas. Excellent Greek food, and wonderful service. The restaurant is small but intimate.

Best Greek in Dallas. Hands down

By Joeluba |

Best greek in Dallas hands down. Dont expect a fancy place but you can expect an excellent full of flavor genuine Greek meal. The Moussaka is excellent, the best I have had in this side of the pond. Have the sampler, absolutely thrilled I found this gem in Dallas.

WONDERFUL

By Shannon H |

I have never had Greek before and I am so glad I ate here. They had great food that was wonderful and wonderful service!

Could have been better

By GRLTRAV |

Service was outstanding. Food was ready surprisingly quickly. However, the ambiance was almost too real world and food was a bit bland. We started with the fried cheese and dolmas. They were average. For our entree we had the chicken lemonata (outstanding) and the sauteed scampi (flavorless). The restaurant and waiters were authentic and I wanted to like it, but overall the experience was just average.

Authentic Greek

By lisa w |

Great service , amazing tasting food totally authentic. Nice little Greek spot , Greek owner , Greek music, the dishes were excellent. I started with spanakopita that I was craving for weeks and I was for a treat . I am also a Greek and I know if the food is authentic or not . Will definitely visit again

What can I say? Excellent!

In Dallas, there is a lot of big nice restaurants, with National names and great food. Kostas is an authentic Mediterranean restaurant that you would expect in Chicago or New York. Located in a nondescript building on Greenville, the service is excellent. Very fresh food at moderate prices.

Greek food at its best

By Anthony M |

If you want a real taste of Greece in a classic ambience and a wait staff that knows how to treat customers, then Kostas is the restaurant for you.

Love the greek food in this unpretentious spot

By chicago90Phoenix |

Don't let those 80s posters of Greece when you walk in the door give you a questionable first impression. The food and service is going to wow you! Everyone at my business dinner enjoyed their appetizers and dinner. Sorry, no room for dessert. The traditional soup was outstanding - it starts with an "a", wish I could pronounce it.

Centrally Located Delicious Greek at Modest Price

By theboywanderz |

Centrally located neighborhood Greek restaurant in Dallas. Service is efficient, friendly and attentive. Dish offerings are nice and the menu offers popular items as well as some more traditional fare. Overall apps and dinner are pretty good, so they are strongest- the baklava was ok, but could use a bit more crunch and flakiness. Ambiance is nothing fancy or noteworthy, but comfortable. I would recommend and would return.

Really nice unassuming Restaurant

By Ann T |

It looks simple enough but the delicious chicken and fish dishes, plus the traditional Greek fare, make this one of our favorite family spots when visiting Dallas. We recently had a celebration dinner for my father-in-law's upcoming 93rd birthday, and the staff and kitchen were so accommodating of our needs and requests, and so warm, that we just can't praise our dining experience here enough. Next visit, we will be back!

Best Greek Food in Dallas

By Kent P |

You owe it to yourself to drop in this cozy little cottage - you will be amazed at the consistently excellent variety of classic Greek food brought to your table! Try the broiled shrimp scampi, the lamb chops, the fresh snapper - all perfectly prepared. The steaks - with a crabmeat option - are excellent, also. There are other Greek restaurants in town, but you will quickly understand why so many native Greeks - and some very sophisticated upper crust diners as well - choose this place when they just want good food without any hassle. Try it once and you will be back !

Excellent Greek food!!

By BobMunky |

Wonderful food & friendly staff. Best lamb I've ever had! Good for couples and for large families. Come hungry.

Greek like it should be!

By Sawdogs |

Celebrated an anneversary with friends. Shared.their platter for two and it was way too much food but the flavors just wouldn't stop. Funny place is a non food neighborhood but we'll worth the drive to find. The lamb was upstanding the prices are very reasonable. We will be back!

So Good

By landdog49 |

We found Kostas using Tripadvior while in town for the birth of our 9th Gkid. Our daughter called from her hospital room just as we ordered and wanted to know what we were having for lunch. The hospital meal didn’t appeal to her. We got to go lunches for her, husband and his family. After the to go order was placed on our table, the waitress checked it and told us what was in each bag. We all loved the fresh delicious food and the service was wonderful. We will go back.

Opa!

By SCBlossom |

We were the only table to not order the flamed cheese appetizer. It is amazing this place does not burn down they flame it so high! The food was very good and the atmosphere reminded me of one upscale restaurant in Athens. Everytime they flame the cheese, everyone yells OPA!

A Disappointing Evening from a LONG time patron

By Russell R |

I have been coming to Kostas since 1985. And I have always loved it. It’s been cozy, the food has been very savory and authentic, the service has been good, and the music has not been overpowering at all. But my visit tonight was a huge disappointment. The green beans that used to be so savory were very bland. Same with the potatoes. The service, while polite, was very lackadaisical and the Greek music was so loud that you could barely visit with your companion. Loud music is a common problem in restaurants in Dallas that think loud music will create a vibe. Their patrons however, know that the ultimate ambience is to be found in your dinner companions. And of course loud music kills that. My wife and I left and walked out to the car, and both commented how saddened we were if this is the new norm. Kostas needs to spend less time sitting at the table in the corner chatting with his buddies and more time tasting his own food and looking after the patrons. I’ve been in the restaurant business for 18 years and I know there are simply off nights. So will we give it another try? Of course, because we’ve loved it so much through the years. But we’ll only give it one more try, and if it isn’t like the old Kostas, then we’ll start looking elsewhere.

Always delicious-lunch and dinner

By rancher4 |

Anytime we dine here, we begin with the Opa appetizer! it is the best! The hummus, and pita bread are darn good too. At lunch they have the best soups-different each day in addition to their lemon-rice-chicken soup. At dinner, it is all delicious. I love this place, and am always pleased with the food and service. It is not a fancy place, but comfortable. They don't have a full bar-wine and beer are served. Always delicious, and the owner is always there.

Three times is the charm!

By Anthony C |

Kostas is a staple for good, Greek food on Greenville! Mr. Kosta is always there to greet you, and their spanakopita is wonderful.

What a gem!

By LCU-ACUMom |

While visiting my daughter in Dallas, after some discussion for where to dine out that evening, her dear friend / roommate mentioned Kosta's Cafe - and away the three of us went. Very unassuming on the outside and not really fancy on the inside, but from the moment we walked in, it felt like we were dining in the home of a good friend. While the menu is not extensive, there are enough choices to please just about everyone, and a simple description is included so those of us not very familiar with Greek cooking can get an idea of what it is we are ordering. If the description isn't enough, the waitstaff can fill in the blanks. We decided that we weren't quite brave enough to try the Greek wines (next time we will!) we went with a very well priced house Merlot. The girls shared a Greek sampler (and raved about everything on it) and I tried the Chicken Lemanato - wonderful! Everything was very reasonably priced, too. We will return!

Disappointment

By txsingleexplorer |

Visiting for a conference and was hungry for Greek. Unassuming, nice table cloth atmosphere. Waiter approached, "something to drink like ice tea or coke"? I asked for a glass of Nemea, one of my favorite greek wines. Started with the Spanikopia which was ok, but rather bland. Nice portion, didn't finish. Next was greek salad. The lettuce on the bottom of the plate was frozen solid. I pointed this out and he responded "yes the plates are frozen". Disgusting! Ordered the Combination of lamb chops, chicken souvlaki and grilled shrimp. I ordered the lamb, medium rare. The 2 chops were the tiniest I've ever seen. Made New Zealand lamb look huge in comparison, and they were medium well. The chicken was dry and inedible. The shrimp were actually very good! The sides were potatoes (bland and cold), and green beans that were pale green and mushy. (canned?). With two glasses of wine, my bill totaled $49. Waste of money.

Great Greek restaurant. Family run business shows in the atmosphere that is great for experienced Greek diners and the novice. Traditional Greek dishes are usually spot on. Don't forget to yell "opa" when they light the saganaki.

One of our favorite restaurants

By Eric S |

I cannot say enough about this place. My wife & I absolutely love it !!! It's one of our favorite restaurants in Dallas (and we're generally snooty & selective about restaurants). The service at Kosta's is gracious, friendly, down-to-earth...very welcoming. The food is spectacular. My personal favorites are the cheese they set on fire (great show & quite delicious), hummus & tzatziki (yogurt dip, cucumber, dill), lemon soup (avgolemono), broiled shrimp, lemon chicken breast, gyro plate. All amazing. We just went last night, and typing this makes my mouth water for more. Great, great place for a celebration w family and friends. We have been to many Greek & Middle Eastern restaurants all over the city, and Kosta's is by far the best, and our very favorite.

Wonderful Authentic Greek food

By sallyls |

What a little gem! Small building is easy to miss but don't! Charming and friendly with actual Greek food, not just the usual Mediterranean fare. I loved the chicken lemonato with rice and stewed okra with onion and tomato. My husband enjoyed the ample thinly sliced gyro with a side of greek potatoes! The goat milk yogurt cheesecake is so very creamy and delicious. Must try this place!

Opa! Great food & authentic!

By AllOver1 |

Great Greek food. We started with Dolmas and then fried cheese. Dolmas were big and delicious. Fried cheese was good and had great presentation with the fire. My wife had Chicken Souvlaki which was great and very moist. I had the red fish Greek style. It was very light and fresh, absolutely delicious. I also had the avgolemono soup. I could have eaten a bucket. This soup is awesome. I also had green beans and potatoes Greek style, along with a bottle of Greek wine. We were familiar with 2 wines on the list and wanted to try a different one. The waiter was a big help and picked a great one. Service was excellent. My wife and I have eaten Greek food from Greece and all the way back to the US and this was among the best.

Family dinner take out

By vessels4 |

We just love Kostas! We get the Chicken Souvlaki every time and cannot stray away! It is a consistent and splendid dish. The chicken is well seasoned and moist. Love love love the green beans! It also comes with tasty rice. My husband and I order tow orders and share with our kids. If we do that there isn't much left overs. Sometimes we buy a third order just for left overs the next day. We order humans and pita too. So so so good. For take out it takes about 20-25 min from order to pick up.

Cute little cafe with great food

By tracydelos17 |

I ran across this little cafe while searching for something new to eat. This place isn't fancy and isn't very large, but it felt homey. The staff is very nice and always made sure we didn't need anything else. The food is delicious! The prices are decent. I recommend the spanikopita for an appetizer and the baklava for dessert. The lamb and chicken are yummy too! I've been here multiple times, and there isn't anything I didn't like. Only reason I give it 4/5 is because I wish the prices were a little better. Great place and recommend to anyone wanting to try some Greek in Dallas!

CONSISTANT GOOD FOOD

By ALLISONMidland |

The Kostas Cafe has been at the Greenville Ave. location for a very long time. It is not a flashy place. It is mostly visited by locals who know the consistently good food served there. You will see a lot of the Greek community when you go there and you should. The restaurant is quiet and a good place for conversation and good food. The best part about Kostas Cafe is the wonderful fish prepared there. So simple and so good. Sometimes you have to ask for it as a special. The Greek food is very authentic and nicely prepared and served. Greek beers and wine will also satisfy you. One other thing you will find satisfying is the prices.....most reasonable. The owner has been there every time we have eaten there, seems to have his eye on the whole place to insure you have a good experience.

Great Lunch

By Rich B |

This place looks very modest from the outside, but inside you'll find a neat little restaurant with starched white tablecloths and well dressed, professional waiters. At a glance, you'll think you're in for an expensive lunch, but the prices are excellent. I've been here twice, and had a gyro both times. Once, the plate (a ton of food) and once the sandwich (perfect). The food is excellent, as is the entire atmosphere. I look forward to coming back and trying other menu items.

Great soup and appetizers and good service

By RG_Dallas |

We've been going to Kostas for years and the food is consistently good. Most nights, Kostas, the owner, can be found sitting at the corner table reading his Greek newspaper. There are so many appetizers that we like on the menu that we seldom order entrees. The three things I enjoy most are the avgolemono soup, which is the best I'v ever had, the taramosalata, and the dolmas, which are served warm and topped with a sauce that taste just like the soup. We always get the sakanaki which is usually good. Every once in a while it's not cooked long enough and is still pretty hard and not as flavorful. The calamari is good though I'm not overly fond of the dipping sauce served with it. If we do get an entree, it's usually the gyro plate, which we usually just split because we always have to order the dolmas and sakanaki. The sides they serve are okay. The rice is decent. The potatoes are okay. But the green bean, I could definitely do without. So, we usually just ask for a double order of rice instead of potatoes and green beans. If we happen to be there on a Friday or Saturday night, we try to save room for the Galaktoboureko which is a custard type dessert in phyllo dough. But, it's only served those two nights. The service is consistently good. It's a small place and can get noisy, especially if there's a large party in there. But, we intend to keep going back as long as he keeps the doors open.

One of our favorites

By Nichole F |

We love Kostas. A great little Greek restaurant on Greenville. Great service, they remember us every time. I'm fussy about my Greek food and this is some of the best that I've eaten. Order the hummus. The hummus is delicious as is the warm, grilled pita they serve with it.

Once again, Kostas delivered a wonderful evening.

By Russell R |

So a year ago I wrote a poor but constructive review. It was because I owned a restaurant in London for 18 years and always valued constructive help AND I've been coming to Kostas since 1986. In my review I acknowledged that every restaurant has off nights. I am pleased to say we went back and everything was really good. The food was excellent, the service was quite good and we were very pleased. Thank you Kostas for again providing a most enjoyable evening at a cozy spot that delivers a great experience.

lemon soup to die for

By Donna W |

Long-time neighborhood favorite Greek restaurant. Cozy place with a nice menu, friendly wait staff. The veal Lemonata is super; the lemon soup to die for! One of our favorites.

Great spot for authentic Greek food

By islandbreezliving |

The building is fairly humble from the outside, but the food is excellent. You can tell the owner and server both know greek cuisine and how to cook with the nuances of the island culture. I love authentic greek food, but am often disappointed with the results. here is a place where the owner understands making all things fresh. I dont believe they use anything frozen here. The meats were excellent and the price was excellent for the quality of the food. I will go here each time I visit SMU.

Wonderful authentic Greek food

By Lisastone11 |

Kostas has been in same location for 27 years. Wonder Greek wine list and authentic fare. Great service and extremely affordable! Looking forward to return soon.

Very good authentic Greek cuisine

We enjoyed the great meal we had. Gyro plate was excellent as was the spanakopita! Service was super and the atmosphere was very comfortable. We would definitely want to come back!

So glad we found Kostas

By Gretchen Ruth |

We're in Dallas for a weekend and wanted to find a restaurant near us that wasn't burgers, Tex-Mex, or a big chain. We discovered Kostas and it was perfect. A warm welcome, white tablecloths, menu that made us both happy (lamb chops for my husband and spanakopita for me), and our great waiter Jody (pictured here). We started with saganaki "opa" cheese, the fried green cheese that is served flaming (big flames at that) with some lovely pita bread. And then there was the very delicious Greek salad ... I'm glad it was not a dainty portion because it was delicious. Jody made some good wine recommendations, too. We would definitely go back. A lovely restaurant with lots of sincere personality and really good food.

Very Nice!!

By Travel80 |

I enjoyed the Gyro Plate for a Business Lunch today at Kostos Café and it came with a small Greek salad and wonderful bread. I look forward to bringing my sweet wife back here for lunch or dinner on our next trip to Dallas. A great meal with friendly/prompt service!

Great Greek

By Matthew B |

An old east Dallas staple. This restaurant is located in an older stand alone building, but don't let that dissuade you from going. The food here is great and authentic, and the service is excellent. Also, Kostas is the owner and he sits at the back table everyday and helps seat people. On weekends, they will sometimes have live music. Make sure to get the tzatziki, lemon soup, and the veal.

One of three

By Neal B |

There are three Kostas Cafe's in Dallas. One of them is in a strip mall, two are stand alone buildings. Of the two stand alone buildings both have green trim on a white building. The only reason I go into all this detail is that in most of the listings, this one pops up first even though one of the others might be closer to where you, or in our case, our niece who is not from this area, was staying. So, we got to go on a trek around Dallas in rush hour traffic to find first the closest one, then the other one with a white building with green trim, then this one. All three Kostas have the same general feel and ambiance and all three have excellent Greek style Mediterranean food. We started with hunnus which was fresh earthy and very good. From there we went on to three main courses which we split. Lamb was excellent as were the scampi and gyros. Plates were piled high with food which more than satisfied the three of us to the point where we did not have room for dessert. Good, atmosphere, good service, good food. What more could you ask for?

pretty decent

By slh2012 |

They make squid very tender, hard to do. Service and everything else is good or great. Deco is average.

Very Nice Find

By Spark1815 |

Traveling through Dallas on our way back from Galveston and were looking for something different. I did a search on Trip Advisor and cam across Kostas less than a block away. Based on previous reviews and ranking we decided to give it a try. The exterior of the building is not much to look at and many may keep driving based on appearance. But you will be making a mistake. Stop in and try Kostas, the food is excellent. We were greeted by a very friendly gentlemen as we entered and immediately seated. The tables are a bit close together for a very intimate experience with other guests. They also had a live musician playing ethnic arrangements. The music created a nice atmosphere. We all ordered something different and no one was disappointed. Portions were adequate and flavors very nice. Try Kostas, you won't be disappointed.

High quality food in a laid-back setting

By VioletCrown |

My two sisters, my mom and I were in town for a trip to King Spa and to our delight, we found this little cafe. Every dish we had, from the calamari and the eggplant dip appetizers, to the creamy - dreamy Greek yogurt cheesecake (with a little bonus baklava) we shared for dessert was absolutely delicious. The veal and mushrooms were tender and robust and the lamb chops were succulent. All the elements of the Greek combo plate were amazing, especially the dolma (subtly spiced) and the spanakopita (divine). Even though this cafe isn't upscale, our friendly server attended our table like waiters in fine dining restaurants do; we felt very well taken care of. We loved the whole experience and left Kostas totally stuffed and happy.

Best Greek Lunch in town!

By kwajazz |

I've been coming to Kostas for 20 years and still enjoy it each week! I like the way they prepare salmon with potatoes and okra. The staff is very attentive. I guess I'll keep coming another 20 years!

Great food and intimate atmosphere

By Guide11936 |

The lighting is rather dim with candles on the table, so it's a good romantic place and a good place to hang out with a close friend or parent: I've seen families of 4 dine there, too. On Saturday evenings, it isn't noisy/chaoti. I've never been on a night when the restaurant was full, so that may account for the peaceful noise level. The portions are rather sizeable, which very tasty veggies on the side of your entrees. The aroma is rather strong, giving it authenticty. Also the food really fills you up. Usually I split a plate iwth somone else and order an extra pita on the side. That costs about $20). The pricing is okay: $-$$. Most entrees are around $16, but then again, it's quite filling. The last time I went was in spring 2006.

A hit

By Camel770 |

Looking for a small, local place to eat with really, really good food? This is it. Wife had gyro plate with tender meat on a homemade pita. Red onion, tomato and tzatziki sauce for toppings.More than enough to bring home leftovers for tomorrow's lunch. We both got sides of delicious green beans and home cooked potatoes. I had the redfish in a butter sauce with crab meat on top. Absolutely perfectly cooked fish that was light and flakey. Superb service from everyone. Will go again next time we hit Dallas.

Amazing food and great little place

Loved everything about this little cafe

By djhrhino54 |

Being from Chicago Greek food is something I enjoy and something not easy to find in Dallas. Recently I saw this little hole in the wall cafe and remarked to my wife that we should try it. Then we saw a Groupon and it gave us our reason. It is a family owned restaurant and that gives it a homey feel. The server was perfect. She took her time and made us feel at home. We ordered the eggplant spread with FRESH pita bread and both were perfect. The food was terrific. The atmosphere was cozy and warm. The price was surprisingly moderate. This place is one of our new favorites.

Cute little place, groovy music, great service and food

By Serena L |

I recently moved to the area and did a search of nearby restaurants and this one came up. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but the minute you walk in you get a warm welcome from the staff. There was a nice ambience, decor and fun music that made me bop. The waitress was super sweet and attentive. The food was great, starting with the fresh bread. I got the Athenian combo. The lamb was very tender and flavorful. The menu had a lot of different things that I would like to try. I will definitely go back.

Like going to your family's house for dinner

By ndmny |

The food is excellent. The hummus divine. The salads are not overly dressed, the pita is perfectly toasted. The avgolemono soup is the perfect blend of lemon. The restaurant has a classy upscale atmosphere [white table cloths] and the owner greets you like family coming over for dinner. Everything feels comfortable and relaxed.

A QUIET BIRTHDAY DINNER

By ALLISONMidland |

We chose The Koatas Cafe for a quiet birthday dinner for our daughter. We have eaten here many times. It is a very real Greek restaurant with real Greek food. However, what we really like is their Dover Sole fish. Cannot be fresher sole on Dallas! The table service is most professional. Our waiter was truly helpfu with suggestions and gave us his experiences from working in many foreign countries. Most interesting fellow and added to the enjoyment of the occasion. Another reason we chose Kostas Cafe is it is one place where you can have a most enjoyable meal and actually talk in a normal voice. It has been there many many years and is not a flashy place; just very comfortable. I have not been there when it seemed the owner was not sitting in the back of the restaurant keeping an eye on everything!!! If there were a problem or request, I bet he made it happen!

Great Greek on Greenville

By Baldy47 |

Visited Dallas to work with clients last week. After a long day I needed a quiet place where I could be "waited on." Kosta's was the solution! Both the avgolemono soup and the gyros dinner were excellent. Service was attentive. I've taken folks here for business lunches, but it is also a good spot for a quiet dinner.

Very good

By momlindsay |

I have driven by this place for ever and friend recently mentioned it so I went to lunch here today and it's a darling little house with white table clothes on the inside. It was much nicer on the inside than I had imagined from the outside. I had the yummy Greek salad with sliced gyro meat on top. My friend had the gyro sandwich and side salad and we both loved our food. I'm looking forward to going back and trying additional dishes!

Good to Go for Greek Food

By tschuh |

This is a family favorite for wonderful Greek food in Dallas. Start off with the Saganaki and follow up with your favorite greek entree. The lamb, gyros, spanakopita or moussaka are all terrific.

Opa!

By Kathryn P |

Kosta’s is our go–to for Greek food in Dallas. To start the Greek salad is very nice but the Avgolemono soup is outstanding. Alternately you can‘t go wrong with flaming cheese (Saganaki). For mains I’m a fan of the Souvlaki and Hubby likes the Gyro and the Sautéed Shrimp Scampi. Even the green beans, potatoes and other sides that come with the main dishes are really good. The wine list is long enough to fin something everyone will enjoy and I’ve heard that the desserts are nice but I never make it that far, getting full first.

Love this place!

By PammyC22 |

The food is to die for. Everything from the hummus to their wonderful desserts are out of this world! The owner is sweet and checks to make sure your dining experience is going well. The BEST Greek food in Dallas !!

OPA

By drcscruggs |

Loved this place. It is not very fancy, looks a little tired. However, I have eaten there several times and loved it. The Dolmas (grape leaf wrapped meat and rice) are probably the best I have ever had. Far cry from the canned variety. I also loved the lamb chops. I ate every shred of meat off the bones. YUM! If that is not enough the Tatziki (yogurt cucumber dip) is what my daughter says is the best she has ever had. The cost is very fair too. They have a plate with a variety of grilled meats that is excellent but way too much for me to eat at one setting.

Best Greek in Dallas

By BKL57 |

Back to Kosta's last week. I work at Stemmons and Inwood - only Kosta's and Jimmy's can induce me to drive 15 minutes for lunch. As usual, flawless. The egg and lemon soup and the spanakopita are still as good as they were on my first visit 10 years ago. My favorite lunch is green salad with sliced gyro. Dinner is a whole other experience, and just as special. Best Greek in Dallas, hands down.

Excellent, fresh Greek food on Greenville!

By Baldy47 |

I hadn't been to this area of Dallas for nearly two years. Kostas Cafe has continued its tradition of fresh, tasty Greek food with excellent service. I enjoyed a seafood entree with hot bread. Delicious. Other diners included families having good conversation and great food and service. Parking is at a premium here (as it is anywhere in this neighborhood). One more note: This is the sort of restaurant that prides itself on saying (when true): "We aren't serving the scallops today because they didn't meet our standards." Wonderful!

Wonderful Greek Restaurant

By pletzkeb |

My husband and I had a late lunch at Kosta's while on a trip to Dallas. The building is not attractive, but, when you step inside, you feel like you are in Greece. Since it was a late lunch, the restaurant was not crowded. Our server, Jody, was absolutely fantastic. We were looking for a light lunch, so decided to order appetizers. We started with Taramosalata and Tzatziki with warm pita bread. Both were delicious and large servings. We then had the Saganaki which was flambeed tableside. This is one of my husband's favorite dishes from his Navy days in Greece. It was excellent with the right amount of lemon. We also tried a cup of the Avgolemeno soup, another of my husband's favorites. While we both thought it was different from other Avgolemeno we've had, we agreed that it was the best we've ever had. After telling Jody that we wanted to take the leftover Taramosalata and Tzatziki and an order of feta and olives and Baklava back to our hotel for an evening picnic, he suggested we try the eggplant dip and Dolmas. We did and enjoyed everything. We have a favorite Greek restaurant that we always visit when we are in New York. Now we have a favorite Greek restaurant in Dallas where we hope to visit again and also hope that Jody is there.

Old Friends, Good Food

Recently went to dinner with four old friends that I haven't seen in awhile. Have eaten here before, but it's been a long while. The outside is a bit rundown. The inside is all white tablecloth but unpretentious. No info on the wine in the wine list. Told the waiter what I liked and he recommended a wine that was excellent. We ordered Spanakopita, Hummus, and Tzatziki for appetizer's. All were excellent. I had the lemon soup and the lamb chops which came with spicy green beans and rice. Excellent!! Everyone else liked their dinners as well. A couple of them had the Gyro Plate and the other two had the Chicken Souvlaki. They all loved their dinners. Nice evening, good company, great waiter, great service, excellent food. Can't get any better than that.
