A Non-Stop Variety of Delicious Juicy Meats

By HaigArtan |

Just by chance, a Saturday night surpise! Weekend entertainment including very upbeat Brazilian music and fancy dressed dancers 'Rio Style'. Not a discount eatery but very reasonable if wishing to enjoy excellent cuisine, entertainment and a couple of hours with your significant other or group of friends. There is a salad bar including Sushi, Smoked Salmon, Mussels, soup, vegetables, and some sides; the main course is the non stop service of meats by the Gauchos who frequent the tables with large skewers and a large knife; if you like what you see, they will slice you as much as you'd like and ENJOY!!! The cost per person is 44 USD and this is inclusive of the meal and entertainment; drinks and desert would be extra if desired. Ample parking either by self parking in structure behind or valet service in front. Although we had no reservations, we waited about 15 or 20 minutes and were given a great table and offered the best service! Highly recommended!

Great food at happy hour

By Ira G |

This was an unexpected find. Happy hour the food was great and we ordered a bunch of it from steak to ribs burgers and a salad. Its not one of those bargain everything is $6 happy hour But both steak dishes were great as were the ribs and the burger, The beet salad was beautiful but the beets were tasteless. The humus plate was not really a hit but looked good.

All About the Meat

By Nancy D |

My sister and brother-in-law invited me for Sunday brunch to celebrate my birthday. The love this place. There is a large buffet on Sunday. The cost is $30 exclusive of anything to drink unless all you want is water. If you want soda, coffee, mimosa or juice, add an extra $10 to the bill. If not drinking champagne, this seems excessive to me. They also have a full bar where you can purchase other mixed drinks or beer. The inside decor is dark, and fine and in line with what you'd expect at a steak house. They served every cut of meat you could expect and it was delicious. There were many salads and cheeses offered and you could request omelettes. The sushi didn't look very fresh. I think the meat was very good and most of the other stuff was ok. Minimal dessert options. Industrial chocolate chip cookies, very chocolate brownies and some other mini pastry puffs. The service was fine, but when we didn't turn out to be big drinkers, were were mostly ignored. My family likes this place more than I did. I thought it was fair and probably would not rush to return. Parking is free in their strip center lot which is a big plus.

Cheesy decor, good eats.

By Maurine D |

While a vegan would probably pass out just crossing the threshold of this establishment, carnivores will have a delectable delight in store for them. The decor was a bit on the cheesy side, but with some imagination one can imagine themselves in some far away double 0 movie in the casbah. There are no alternatives to meat but the few select dishes they specialize in are melt in your mouth worth a drive to experience. The live music was fun but too loud. Not a bad blues trio when I was there.

NOT RECOMMENDED

By Shadi S |

NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL, they will come once every 10 to 15 min and the customer service is horrible and the manager Toni is beyond rude so don't waste your time talking to him, my wife got sick just eating from the salad bar/appetizer and if you try to get there attention so they get you some food they'll take it personal and they wont come to your table in purpose, horrible place to eat so don't waste your time

Brazilian Steakhouse

By KoziakProductions |

Like most Brazilian steakhouses, they offer an all you can eat option of amazing skewered and seasoned meats including tequila lime chicken, lamb, filet, ginger wasabi steak and more all accompanied by a great salad and side bar. The majority of the time we order the Happy Hour Filet Mignon which is just three small but generous pieces of filet wrapped in bacon with the best salad ever! Some days if you are lucky, you may even catch the belly dancers.

Fun night out

By Joshua S |

The meats were great. We had to try any and all of the meat that came out. The cuts seemed good and really tasty. The staff was very cordial with us and explained how the restaurant process worked. The buffet had quite the assortment. The bar was really busy.

Excellent food and service

By Joanne196550 |

The food was more scrumptious and the atmosphere we very warm and pleasant. The staff who served us were very friendly and they accomodated us as they were about to close and stil lserved us, a party of six. I highly recommend this restaurant to all.

Strange Place

By ValerieA50 |

Went here on a first(and last)date. Strange location and weird atmosphere! Had one drink ordered when the music was turned to an unbearable volume and a male and female dancer in G-strings and feather headdress came into the bar dancing and shaking for 20 minutes. I'm usually up for anything but this was just plain bizarre.

The best !

Thanks Toni for everything! A very good quality restaurant and very kind staff! I will come back soon! Kisses from Italy!

The good news is they will be out of business soon...

By Jeff K |

We made the horrible mistake of forgoing a Fogo De Chao night to try something closer to home. Horrible decision. The meat was dry and overcooked. I think they were going for a taste similar to cardboard. The few people sitting at other tables complained about the weak selection of meats coming out. We were informed they had run out of many items. (Yeah, I guess Fridays are slow nights...So why stock up.) The service was strategically bad. Being it is an all you can eat concept, they had one server bring out withered, small shrapnels of meat every 15-20 minutes. The thinking I assume was they needed the time to overcook the meat into cinder blocks or they were hoping customers wouldn't wait it out and become so inpatient they would leave after only 2 or 3 meat selections. The salad bar portion was in stealth mode. The had out little placards ID'ing what SHOULD HAVE been on the serving trays. Great selection of nothing. My advice -- Stick with FOGO. p.s. The over/under of this place closing is Nov 1, I am taking the under.

Samba with your supper

By taracw12 |

I had so much fun here. The happy hour has a plethora of good cocktails and appetizers and very good prices for La. Dancing with the samba dancers just made it an extra incredible experience! They were so nice and talented! The only reason I gave four stars is because the fois gras def left something to be desired. Was almost dry! But I would still return. And you should too!

Healthy food

By Deborah F |

This place serves good food, healthy and interesting. It's informal, with small tables and chairs loosely grouped in a room. Self serve water and plastic utensils. The wait staff check on you, the lattes are excellent, and my breakfast for dinner choice was very good. "Fancy" isn't necessary! In fact informal is often better, especially when you've been outdoors exploring the Canyon allday.

The Sunday Brunch is excellent

By daddymosley |

We have eaten at Kravings a few times and have never been disappointed. It is a cozy restaurant, so make reservations, but that is part of the experience. You can bring your family to a good, well-appointed, intimate restaurant without having to stress. The food is excellent, meat served Brazilian style, and the prices are very reasonable for the quality and service your receive. Trendy, but not pompous. Go here and tell your friends!

Impressed

By andyleeusc |

I was really impressed with the service of the entire restaurant. The servers were really good. Meat was served promptly and drinks always filled. Even the buffet area was constantly wiped down to keep things tidy. The staff was really friendly and tried to make you feel welcome.

I'd pass on this place

By kisssmee |

Came here for DineLA and I got to try Brazilian Picanha, Tequlia Lime Chicken, Bottom Sirloin Steak, Linguica Brazilian Sausage, Leg of Lamb, Honey Glazed Atlantic Salmon plus more. My favorite was the sausage just because it was so different and the salmon because I love fish. The Leg of Lamb was more on the pepper side. I don't know if that was intentional or that's how the seasoning is. All the meats were delicious, but seriously after a while all the salt in the meat is a bit much. Talk about blood pressure on your plate! The person cutting the meat was great. Came by every so often to offer meat on the plate. However, the reason why this place is getting 3 measly stars is because of the service of the waiter or lack thereof. There really isn't a waiter when you go to Brazilian churrascaria because the meat cutter is the one giving you your food. The waiter is simply there to clean your table and refill your beverage. During the beginning of the meal the waiter came by to clear the plates and refill the water. About 15 minutes before our meal ended he was no where to be seen. (I was waiting for a refill of water.) After 20 minutes later of more waiting he shows up to help a table next to us that was just seated. By this time we are done with our meal and just wait for him to come by. He takes their order and goes to the computer then goes to a table with a big party. Still waiting. Again, he goes off to put the plates away. Still waiting. Since he hasn't seen us we decide to pile our plates on top of each other and put our napkins. Clearly we are done with our meal and waiting for the waiter to come by. He goes back to the big table and is about to go off again to idk where until I call him right before he's out of the area. That whole waiting for the waiter thing took about 40 minutes. He didn't acknowledge that he was gone for such a long time because he was attending to other tables or anything like that. I understand if he was the only one, but seriously i have no idea where the waiter was for 20 minutes prior to the other table just being seated. And just when I finished my meal I was set on 4 stars, but with this lack of service 3 stars. It's so sad because it was a place I really wanted to enjoy it. It has such a beautiful ambiance to it. It's always too bad the service ruins the whole experience for me and ruined the start of DineLA. Back to M Grill I go.

Delicious food

By Eikcaj |

Celebrated my birthday and had so much fun. The food was tasty and great quality. The show was a nice, I wish our seating was closer to see the dancers, especially since I had made reservations over a week and they knew it was a celebration. The dancers did come over our table to take pictures, so that was nice. I would definitely go back.

Excellent Food Ruined by Inappropriate "Entertainment:

By onetaxingguy |

How sad. This was our first & last visit to this restaurant. Decor is quirky and fun. We were promptly seated and were told the choices for dinner. We chose the churrascaria dinner. Salad and 1st courses were plentiful and good. The meat courses were EXCELLENT. Service of the meats to our table was mechanical, by bored employees. No explanation of the food preparation was given. The Banana Foster pizza for dessert was VERY good. What RUINED the evening for us was the "entertainment": 2 Samba dancers that periodically performed during dinner. The music was turned up very high, making conversation at the table impossible. A number of customers became routy and boisterous, more appropriate in a strip club rather than a nice restaurant. Having been to Brazil, these dancers made a mockery of Samba culture. Due to this "entertainment," I will not go back to this otherwise enjoyable restaurant.

The best "Brazilian" Place in LA

By Carlos Gustavo |

Kravings is a Brazilian Fusion Steakhouse. It is not a real Brazilian place but it will fit any meat lover. The price is really great. US 26,00 in October 2016 for an all you can eat buffet. The place is not as fancy as Fogo de Chão in Beverly Hills and the meat is not as "sophisticated" but the price, the service and the food really makes the place worthwhile!

Closed with no notice

By kathleene_12 |

We planned weeks in advance of visiting Kravings. We printed menues from the website, and called to confirm happy hour. When we got there, there was a sign on the door that they were closed for repairs. We had no notice from them during our phone calls and website visits. We will not ever plan on visiting this restaurant again.

Satisfied our Kravings

By Glenn S |

Interior is very hip/trendy. We were seated quickly and the server asked about drinks quickly. The selections at the appetizer/salad bar were fresh and tasted very good. I suggest not filling up on those foods so you save room for all the meat selections. Service was a little slow bringing around the different selections and we received many repeats prior to being asked about other meats. They finally arrived though. They were all quite tasty and the Tequila Shrimp were excellent. Outside of the delays from servers we were happy overall and would return our next time in LA.

Good food

Had brunch there. Place was a bit small and had to wait for a seat. It was a bit crowded and hard to stand in the waiting area. Service was quick and food was good.

Kravings Can Become Addictive

By Antpooh |

Brazilian Rodizio inspired, Kravings is a world fusion steak house. I normally eat here on special occasions; birthdays, Mothers Day, Valentines Day, etc. (they don't up-charge on holidays). Though I've dined here during happy-hour, lunch and dinner, I must admit, I prefer their brunch! The appetizer/salad bar is great, but the main attraction is their wide assortment of fire-roasted meats. This restaurant is a meat lover's paradise! Eating here can be a bit overwhelming. Have game plan, i.e. using a "strategic eating approach" is strongly recommended. Tread lightly at the appetizer/salad bar. There's an array of delectable delight here, like sushi, Brazilian rice, prosciutto, assorted salads, etc. Keeping your "eye on the prize" (the succulent meats) is a necessity! When the servers begin to bring the meat around, take small samples. This approach will help you to determine what type of meat you like best. Once you have ascertained you primary target(s), gorge yourself until you explode! Amenities: full bar, outdoor seating, wheelchair accessible, and an amazing wait staff. Good for kids and both small & large groups. Reservations are highly recommended.

excellent and fun night! check it out :)

Had an excellent time here for our corporate holiday party! Thank you for the awesome service, food, and hospitality! It was so fun :)

Great Brazilian Experience

By Donna W |

The reception hostess seemed a little frazzled and left us waiting for a minute, but once we were seated, the service from all of the other staff was fantastic. The salad bar was well laid out, tasty and pretty good choice - although the parmesan bread wasn't as fresh as it could have been. The meat was as good as I was hoping, tender, juicy, flavour-some. They also had an excellent bar and the bar tender made us a few really good mojitos! I'd recommend this place and if I was back in LA I would take my friends there. The restaurant lighting/ambiance is really nice and private, especially if you get a booth.

The Real Deal

By Journeyman J |

We've been to many Churrascarias in LA, (and Brazil), and really, this is one of the best we've had. Many times in these places the meats are under-seasoned/over-cooked and the sides are so-so... but Kravings got it right. Meats were seasoned perfectly, sides were fantastic. Caipirinhas were just like you get in Brazil. Pão de queijo was a little disappointing... didn't go back for more. Feijoada was a little untraditional but really, really great! Salads were well executed. Truly, head and shoulders above other Brazilian Steak Houses in LA. We all rolled out stuffed, happy, and impressed.

Great experience ruined by shady business practices

By Anastasia Z |

We came in with a group of 18 and as we were seated I noticed that the server was pouring Vaas water to the group. I told him tap water was fine and that if we were going to get charged extra for the vaas there was no need for him. He nodded said it's flat water and continued pouring. I asked again if we were going to get charged extra. He nodded again and kept pouring. I told him no and he kept on doing what he was doing. I spoke to my mom who was cohosting the party and she spoke to the server as well. Told him no fancy water, he kept pouring and didn't respond. At the end of a lovely dinner we were handed a check with an extra $ 45 (!!) For the stupid vaas water that we didn't want. My whole wonderful dining experience was ruined by the fact that I was given and charged for a product that I in no way wanted but was pushed on me. Shame on you Kravings for having such shady business practices. Shame on you. For 18 people the bill was already over $600, manager, did you really need that $45? Yeah not everyone said no, but shouldnt the hosts have the say? Forget that. And forget this place.

Carnivore's delight

By Bennett R |

Kravings has a beautiful buffet full of delicious food ranging from shrimp to seaweed salad and everything in between, blah blah blah - yes, that's all nice, but honestly, the reason to go here is for the Brazilian style meat that is brought right to your table. It's all you can eat, and wow, you should eat. Some of the best cuts of meat I've ever had came from Kravings - the Picanha steak is particularly succulent and mouth-watering. Pretty much every meat the pleasant server came to offer to our table was divine. It's not extremely pricey either, considering the amount of food you get. If you're interested in some carnivorous offerings and you're ready to fill up, Kravings is a great buffet choice.

We were there in January 2013 What a let down

By SFARES |

Our sister in law had mentioned this place because it was close to her home so we said sure lets check it out. We were seated in a timely fashion and offered the salad bar to start. I thought the food was pretty good and we were off to a good start. BUT THEN THE MUSIC STARTED What is going on we said and then these girls dressed in feathers and a skimpy outfit come out shaking there everything and wanting to sit on your lap OH NO that wasn't happening we all looked at each other a said DONT LOOK AT THEM and maybe they will go away. I was in a state of shock what the heck is going on here. Then our meal arrived just average food nothing to write home about. I must say we video taped these dancers because no one would believe this happened to all of us. NEVER NEVER NEVER AGAIN or I did I forget to mention the Tiki torches upon entering. WOW what a experience

We had a family birthday

By Dee Johnson |

This place was very expensive. You get all you can eat salad for $30.00, they do have sushi, shrimp and other stuff on the bar. The all you can eat meat was $60.00. They had belly dancers, very loud music when they came out. You are paying for the experience. It was fun.

Great Experience

By IrishLori |

Wanted to introduce my hubby and daughter to a churrascaria. WE all loved it. It was Fathers Day and they were pretty busy, the hostess was terrible and can not multi task at all but when we were finally seated the awesome server made up for poor first impression. He offered wines to pair and gave us samples so we could choose a favorite, offered my 9 year old her choices too. HE was very attentive through the whole meal. We had the last seating of the brunch, they ran out of a few items on the buffet which was a little disappointing but it was minor. The meats were seasoned very well and cooked perfect. I'd love to go back for a dinner meal and try them again.

Best Brazilian food in the San Fernando Valley

By Monica Ricardez |

If you want a good quality Brazilian rodizio style experience Kravings is the way to go. The service was great from the person who took our reservation over the phone to our waiter. Perhaps the only person who was not as stelar was the girl at the front desk who greeted us not very enthusiastically when compared to the rest of the staff. In terms of the food, the meat is very good quality and the buffet offers a great variety of side dishes. Our favorites were the garlic mash, the Brazilian Picanha, Indian Spiced Lamb, the shrimp and the Tequila Lime Chicken. The Ginger Wasabi Steak is also very flavorful and the Filet Mignon Wrapped in Bacon is delicious. We had a great time and we will most definitely return!

Amazing variety with good value and a festive 70s retro-chic atmosphere

By Lestertheinvestor |

What a wonderful evening! The service was friendly, prompt and continuous. We happened to be there during Happy Hour, so many of the selections were discounted, but only in price not in quality! There are two main services: Continuous Brazilian style meats on skewers or a la carte. There is a very extensive salad bar, which was the meal I chose (vegetarian!), while my party mates chose lobster and meat selections rather than the never ending meat buffet. The dishes were cooked appropriately, served in a timely fashion and with pizzazz. The drinks were made by a person using a rolling cart -- including authentic Caipirinha, which is based on a sugar cane based hard alcohol called cachaça, muddled with lime and sugar. A bit unexpected, but Samba-like dancers suddenly appeared at 8:30 pm, and wiggled around the room for 10 minutes. Given their outfits, maybe kids shouldn't be in restaurant, but given what you see on TV these days, I don't think it is a problem unless you are exceedingly conservative! Desserts were limited, but were artfully presented, and had a good flavor. Various coffee concoctions were also served to end a great evening. If you go between 4-7 pm daily, the Happy Hour experience, especially if sat outside, would be great!

Birthday celebration

This review is for Kravings Brazilian Barbecue on Ventura Blvd., Encino, CA. The good: Floor show of scantily clad & lots of bling & feathers dancing women (I hear men love this) with crazy loud music to go with....but all fun. Don’t sit in the bar area when the floor show takes place bcs you will be located right next to or under the speakers & it’s deafening! If you are looking for a place that has simply delicious (tender, flavorful, mouth watering) meats of all kinds including salmon & chicken ALL YOU CAN EAT this is it! I don’t know how he does it bit the chef makes everything oh so delicious. You put the tower light on & different kitchen staff bring long skewers of meats. Be sure to ask for the salmon. This last time they “forgot” to bring it to us. I go there for the lamb chops, they’re amazing. Cost is abt $58.00 per person and includes an all you can eat self service salad buffet. The buffet included prosciutto & other Italian meats, manchego/Brie/other cheeses, asparagus spears (al dente) breads, beans, artichoke, hearts of palm, & a huge amount of other great items. The major downside is, they charge corkage fee of $20.00 PER BOTTLE!!! The maitre d informed me it was to encourage patrons to purchase wines from the Kravings wine list. Also, if you select to not purchase the all you can eat, you will be asked to move from your lovely booth or table to high chair seating at the bar area. Or you will be asked to sit at the bar. Unbelievable!!!! Ordering from the menu is not permitted when seated at a booth. Really??Major inconvenience & major space limitation. We were a party of 6 with reservations. But still we were not accommodated. The last major hurdle was with the table service....the table waiter pretty much favored other tables and the kitchen staff did not bring offerings of salmon & ignored my request to taste a meat offered to other tables. I had to use my utensil against my water glass to gain table waiter’s attention. Also be aware of a gratuity of 18% is automatically charged whether or not you received good service. Soooooo, if you’re in the mood for a spectacular meat event but don’t mind the quirks then go for it. As I said before, I only dine at Kravings for the all you can eat lamb chops. Think of an all you can eat rack of lamb. In Kravings defense I informed the maitre d of lack of service & he said he’d make sure he took good care of us next time. Bon appetite

Great food, service and atmosphere

By Misty K |

My husband and I ate dinner at Kravings tonight. We loved the food and our server was amazing. Regina was a terrific server and just made our night. The food is reasonably priced and lots of options The wine was great with many tasty options. There is an outdoor patio that is so relaxing and pretty. This would be a great place for a party or a nice out with family.

KRAVINGS FUSION TARZANA NEW YEAR EVE 2014

By JanLosAngeles |

We were there for the early seating New Year's Eve last night, 7pm seating, and as usual the restaurant looked great, very hip atmosphere, great ambiance, crowded bar scene. We got a nice booth, which was great. Not sure why other reviewers say service is awful, ours was really good, waitress Kaitlin took great care of us as did the other servers. The bread and chimichurri sauce was delicious and promptly placed at our table. They did change the salad bar, although lots to choose from and always enjoy it, preferred the older version as it seemed to have more items, better grilled veggies, easier to get around, more variety IMO..got a little congested as is an L shape now. As far as rodizio, I do not eat red meat, but loved that they served grilled salmon, delicious, as was the grilled shrimp, tandoori chicken, grilled pineapple. All good and served promptly and plenty of it! My boyfriend said the steak and meat items were juicy and great as well. All and all we had a great time, wine was delicious, meal was as well and service was great. My only tiny complaint since we came early time slot, missed the dancers and thought the music they played was rather low energy and boring..would have preferred bossa nova or something more energy. We will be back however and want to try the brunch which looks really good!

Great Value

By s_traveler050 |

For the price, this restaurant is a good find. While the meat quality is somewhat questionable, it tastes good. The small buffet is adequate and the food seems fresh. Service is good.

NEW YEARS EVE 2011 AT KRAVINGS

By JanLosAngeles |

We had a great time at Kravings for New Years, early 7pm seating. We love the hip and stylish atmosphere, we had a great private booth, and the food was delicious. I don't eat any red meat, but the salad bar is amazing and there was grilled shrimp and chicken also. Really good! Prices are not cheap, but it is all you can eat and we felt it was worth it, much less on regular nights, we paid more for New Years. We also liked the DJ and we all ended up dancing in between the show..it was really fun. The Brazilian dancing girls are also very good and very entertaining. Service is great, they always come around with food and parking is easy also. Have not tried the champagne brunch yet, but that is next on our list. Each time we go, we feel like we are in a cool Hollywood restaurant, rather than downtown Tarzana..(nothing against Tarzana, that part is actually pretty cool with new restaurants and the Whole Foods). We will be trying the brunch soon!

Meat and lots of it!

By KatPlay |

Love this place! Went there for dinner on a Friday evening - had a reservation and we were seated immediately. Salad bar was great with lots of non-standard salad bar offerings - shrimp, sushi rolls, pasta, rice and more. LOTS of meat!!! It just kept coming and coming and coming!!! Don't understand the other reviews that said they didn't come around much or that you have to sit in a special area. We couldn't have asked for more. The dancers are pretty sexy (dressed in thongs) so it might not be suitable for children if you don't approve of that. Dancers were very nice and got patrons involved in the show. Even my mother danced with them!! Music is loud when the dancers are in the room, but that's the only time. Definitely plan to go back many times.

Must experience

By Rana D |

We looked up this place on a very quiet night and god where we impressed !!! It was sooo amazing with fantastic food that does not stop. The staff are fantastic and the Brazilian dancing ladies were great and fun to watch. If you are in LA. PLEASE VISIT

Great visit great food great atmosphere

By AYanni |

The food was great and they satus in the corner table whichw was perfect because we got a view of the whole dining room and the entertainment. Towards the end of our dinner they did have dancers which made it that much more fun. The food was eveyhting to be expected. The only thing is that it is very expensive and for 2 people we spent about $175 but we did get dessert and drinks. But it does add up. But overall it was a great night. The filet mignon wrapped in bacon is a must try.

Scrumptious Meats

By LosAngelena |

We stumbled upon this place almost 10 years ago and wanted to find it again. We drove over an hour to dine here, and it was worth it. The meats are delicious. The short ribs some of the best I ever had. We liked that they served the sides and salads. No buffet, which we loved and hope they'll continue. The sides were wonderful, too, and the servers happily brought us more of our favorites. As fabulous as the food was the service was really the star. We loved our main server and everyone else on his team. So friendly and accommodating.
