I like sushi with limitations - but with ALL the options here and how everything is prepared, I fell in love sushi after this experience. And the Kobe ribs were yummy too! A fabulous meal!!

The food was average, but the staff could have been more attentive. Some of our guests wanted beef dishes but were told they were out of beef for 3 weeks. What the heck is that about. That is a management issue. Not worth returning.

The menu has some inventive combinations and hand rolls. The quality of the fish varies a lot. The appetizers are the best part, like the “tiradito”

We got some rolls, which were unique (one had Pop-Rocks on it!) but sort of mushy, definitely average. $120 for two people including one cocktail each. Decor was nice and service was good. I didn't see great reviews for any other sushi spots on the Strip, so I'd say give it a try if you're near Mandalay Bay and want sushi/Japanese.

We ordered for everyone the chefs specials and was perfect. The sake was so good and the cocktails are perfect for pre-party.

The food was absolutely delicious and the service was excellent! The ambiance it s amazing! We had a diversity of dishes and each dish had a unique taste ! We loved it !

Absolutely amazing sushi served here, especially the hot mess roll was delicious. Other dishes like the tacos and the new style sashimi were great too! Very friendly waiting service as well!

At this stage! I’m not afraid to say that this is probably the best Japanese restaurant I’ve ever tried. The Albacore is absolutely stunning, it melts in your mouth and the Sour Japanese Whiskey is the best. The service was a 5 start one and the attention to detail was second to none. I can believe o have not tried before. A must when you coming to Vegas.

I had the pleasure of dining at Kumi while traveling for work. The restaurant's atmosphere and staff were relaxed and inviting. I sat at the sushi bar and enjoyed watching the sushi chefs prepare exquisite creations. Both the sushi chefs and the servers were very attentive and the food arrived quickly. Everything was divine-very fresh and flavorful! I will definitely dine there again the next time I'm in town.

had high hopes for this place given the reviews. Located along "restaurant row" in the Mandalay Bay Hotel there seemed to be a circus like atmosphere. Not very relaxing, and quite noisy. Though we were seated in main dining room behind the bar felt like a mall setting, kind of like a sit down upscale Panda Express. Server was polite. We ordered drinks and several dishes for sharing. Before we were even halfway through with our drinks food started arriving and shortly all dishes were delivered. Nothing was "coursed". Despite the harried service the food was solid, Dishes included: Wagyu gyoza, Yellowtail serrano, asparagus tempura, miso black cod, and maguro

The food here was amazing! From the shishito peppers, to the Bao buns, to the sushi...so good!! The ambience to the place is high end and trendy! Service was excellent! This was a highlight to my visit!

Great food and great staff. Sat at the bar, full menu. Bartender let us sample a few saki’s to help us decide which one we would want a carafe of, nice touch. Ordered the yellowfin appetizer, very clean and fresh. Ordered 3 rolls, all recommended by the 2 bartenders waiting on us, all were very good. Overall high quality food and cool vibe, definitely recommend for a nice dinning experience.

We had been in town for a trade show and wanted to have a nice 'light" company meal prior to a night at Light Dance Club. Reservations were easily made thru Opentable and we we sat upon our arrival at our scheduled time. We were immediately addressed by staff and our waiter, we ordered drinks and looked over the menu. again, we were simply planning on light appetizers so we cannot speak for some of the full menu items. We did order Gyoza, Bai Buns, Edamame and some sashimi. All came out is no certain order as they were prepared. All items were very tasty, the Buns had a fair spicy flavor but were very good. Gyoza is a favorite of mine so I am a bit picky, these were good but i thought could use a bit more spice to them. The edamame was very tasty, crisp and lightly salted, very fresh. I am told the sahimi was very good as I don't eat it. Over all very nice lite meal, Upscale great atmosphere to sit and chat after a long day walking a trade show.

We stopped for an early dinner and selected Edaname and a few Sushi rolls to share. We enjoyed the excellent food and very attentive service during our meal.

The bar is excellent for a fashionable crowd and good people watching view of Mandalay Bay. Been there many times and most always choose the sushi bar to watch the masters. Service is excellent. Try the Ken Sword saki...floral notes.

We had a business dinner here and it could not have been more excellent. Food was outstanding, service was great!

Great place, excellent food and your pocket won't get drained. Portions could be larger; but that is what you get a fancy places. Go for it if you are looking for Japanese food.

First time we went to Kumi. Awesome sushi no matter which one you order. Baby back ribs have a sweetness that I could not find on another restaurant.

We went twice in the same day: first for drinks and later for dinner. When we went at 10pm for dinner, our same server Jade remembered our Brancott SB wine and showed caring. After we placed orders for many appetizers, the manager told us that the last order had to be placed cuz kitchen was closing in 10 minutes. We were far away from 11pm. Las Vegas closing early with a major convention in house? Ridiculous. When we ordered more food and it came, we felt rushed. Jade told us "well, now you know so next time order earlier." Really? And the manager told us as the 2nd round of appetizers came "we're closing soon and you'll need to clear out." Truly, we were the last ones in the place, but we were not near midnight. The nearby restaurants like Aureole were buzzing. The service and manner didn't match the Vegas theme. The manager said "we'll make it up to you another time," but that's a cardinal sin in service: you make it right the FIRST time. We were leaving the next day, anyway. And we won't be back to this restaurant.

Before meeting a friend for drinks, I stopped to have a bite at Kumi on a late Saturday night (9:30-10), and they had a spectacular happy hour in the bar area. The bar staff was tremendously welcoming and efficient, and the food and drink selections were flawless. As most do, I probably ordered more than usual on the happy hour prices, so I spent about the same. Nevertheless, I will definitely return to Kumi as it is a underrated sushi spot in the Mandalay Bay.

Excellent tasting menu… we chose the premier one for $135 pp & there was tons of food. Every course was good… and we got to sample a wide range of dishes. Loved the ahi tuna pizza & the chef choice of sushi… the main was also good… I picked the wagyu strip loin. Dessert was mochi ice cream… we were stuffed. Would definitely dine here again…

We go to Vegas often, and had never heard of this restaurant. We stayed in Delano and because we knew it was such a busy convention time, we were looking for a close restaurant prior to seeing Carrot Top. As our son wanted Japanese food for his 18th birthday, we were thrilled to find this restaurant at Mandalay Bay. It was absolutely outstanding! We ordered way too much food as usually the portions are small in Japanese restaurants. Our total bill was $190 for three of us, and we had Wagyu beef appetizers, a huge clay bowl of the best beef fried rice we have ever tasted (big enough for two to split as an entree), Hot Mess and Garlic Tuna sushi rolls (about 12 pieces each), and an order of Katchu Chicken (which came with steamed rice, 4 dipping sauces, a salad and potato salad). Aside from the chicken being too crispy, everything was so delicious. My son originally wanted the $125 tasting menu, which we planned to splurge for his birthday but they required that menu for everyone at the table. Not being huge Japanese food fans (well, until this restaurant), we did not opt to go that way. The restaurant was lovely, service was absolutely perfection and the food delicious. Our only complaint would be the volume of the terrible music. If the food had not been so good, we would have removed a star as we had to almost yell to have a conversation.

We stumbled onto this place and so glad we did. The service was impeccable, the food was fantastic, it's pricey but well worth it. This is a great place for adults , I wouldn't bring small children. We enjoyed cocktails that were recommended by our server and on point. For dinner, we chose shrimp tempura, fried rice, side dish of eggplant, and sauted mushrooms. Everything tasted fresh and well crafted. It was my daughter's birthday celebration, and they brought a beautiful dessert with a candle, but thank God no singing. My daughter is also gluten-free, and our server took time to go through the menu and explain what could be made gluten-free. This was a wonderful dining experience, including the food, drinks, and atmosphere. This is definitely our new must do every for future Vegas trips.

Kumi is located in Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino. We went there for dinner. Place was pretty much empty. We ordered ours orderedorder , food start being served like we were in a rush. Food was nothing special just like any average Japanese Restaurant. We were out of the restaurant in 35 minutes which to me was record.

Stopped in near 10 PM and they let me place an order. No other place is open to eat at Mandalay Bay this late. With the exception of Citizens and the food there is not very good. Had a Special Shogun Cocktail, Clear Miso Soup, Hot Mess sushi and Kumi Mari sushi. All was excellent. Service was quick. All around this is an excellent place to dine. I have been here before and will be back many times in the future. My bill was $66.03 not including tip.

Way to expensive for the quality and quantity of the fish. Average sushi. Nice decor. Convenient location but the expense is just not resonance.

Kumi located at one of the greatest hotel properties in LAS Vegas at the Mandalay Bay Casino. When staying at the Mandalay Bay or Another Vegas hotel, you won’t find finer places to eat then at the Mandalay Bay food promenade . Kumi is one of those great High end Restaurants. If you love sushi or any other Japanese favorites Kumi is your place. KOBI beef is one of there specialty’s. They have a Kobi taco appetizer and a short rib main course to die for. The short ribs truly melt in you mouth. Everything we ate was delicious.

We tried the Black cod and Salmon which were to die for! Not quite close to the standard created by Roka (London) or Hakkasan but very close. Taste sensation with presentation on a. Michelin star level. We also had an aubergine with mozzarella side which complemented both the salmon and black cod, again great presentation with the aubergine skin crispy with a melt in the mouth middle. Drink choice: Whispering Angel Rose.

This was our second time eating here. Service is superb! We sat at the bar this time and thourougly enjoyed the bar food menu as well as the full menu. Amazing ahi poke tacos and soft shell crab sliders.

We had a fantastic meal here. The food was excellent - especially their amazing sea bass. Our waiter was not very attentive and it seemed like we were bothering him when we needed things. But happily, the other staff was super friendly and helpful. You need to be prepared for two things when eating here. First, it's a bit pricey. Second, it's very, very loud in the main room; the physical design of the restaurant is attractive but it reflects all of the noise and sound back on the tables. We could hear conversations on the other side of the room. Come here for a great Japanese meal, but maybe not when you're looking for an intimate first date.

We were very pleased with Kumi--finally good food and a good price! We started with the soft crab sushi roll, which was delicious and plenty for 2 to share. Our main meals were the teriyaki salmon and the Uni shrimp pasta--both delicious and we could barely finish! We would definitely go back!

So we went to Kumi for my wifes birthday. When I made reservations i told them it was her birthday. So when we got there, no recognition whatsoever. The food was very tasty but way overpriced. The service was mediocre. So at the end I had to mention to the waitress it was my wifes birthday. She then said happy birthday. wow. Then she said she the desert was on her. We said we didn't have much time ok we will try the hazelnut cake but we are in a hurry can we get the check. Never saw her again. Someone else had to get the check. We had to walk out. I am so disgusted I left her a decent tip. Wish I could take it back. Left me feeling very disappointed and angry.

Fantastic sushi. Best in town by far with great staff and service. We always sit at the bar . We visited last April and love this place so much that we had to come back again this month. The tuna Pizza is spectacular as are many of the other rolls.

Our best bar/food experience in Vegas this trip. First the bar: offered a variety of interesting cocktails, but also some Japanese whiskeys - the Ohishi Sherry Cask finish was special - smooth, and with the sherry aroma to the glass. Nice seating, and great food selection for either appetizers or a meal. But the restaurant also offered enough small plates of interest that we ended up not getting a main course: Rock Shrimp Tempura was the highest rated by the 4 of us. But the Kobe Beef Tacos and the Ribs that were the most tender I've had anywhere; and the Kimchee Brussel Sprouts for those of you that do NOT like kimchee; and are you not very fond of eggplant, then you must try these thinly sliced pieces of eggplant with a most wondrous sauce. These spectacular dishes made the Black Cod and Yuzu Scallops only very good. The Black Cod was a very subtle and tasty dish, and while I didn't find anything special about the Scallops, the grain that they were sitting in, Jacobs Tears, was new to me, and very special. An overall wonderful experience.

Have now dined at this restaurant in Mandalay Bay twice and enjoyed it both times. Cocktails and food are both excellent. Great restaurant for sharing and trying a few different things. The sushi is beyond fresh and every entree we got was outstanding. The tuna and crispy rice, spicy tuna & shrimp tempura roll, fried rice, the halibut and cod. All wonderful. Keep up the great work. 2 times now and very consistent!

Surprisingly we were able to get a last minute reservation here on a Saturday night and were seated right away. The service is great. Definitely try the sushi roll with Pop Rocks. Strange but good! I'm glad we enjoyed our food because it was not cheap: $6 for a small cup of soup, $18 cocktails, and some rolls were almost $30 a piece.

Had a business dinner there - four guys. Three who like sushi and one who doesn't. Everyone found something to eat. Food was good and prices were generally reasonable. The staff were friendly and service was good until they got busy. The staff were still nice when they got busy but they forgot a few things. Don't know if it was the kitchen or the wait staff that dropped the ball. I would still go back and still felt good about giving them a good review.

Food was good, Decent sushi. Pricey overall. Compared to other Mandalay Bay restaurants it was easier to get a table.

Excellent. 4.5+ stars. YES we would recommend and YES we would go back. LONGER REVIEW: We are Vegas Locals and this was our fourth time to Kumi and it was moderately busy for a Friday night. We are a fan of Akira Back (the owner), having been to several of his restaurants including Singapore. SERVICE: Had a reservation and was seated promptly in a nice booth by request. Service was Excellent from "Risa" - even though she was super busy with several large tables, she was always there when you needed her. WINE and COCKTAILS: Started with a nice Malbec by the glass along with a "made to order" custom Martini. Bartender was spot on with the Martini. Yummy. Wines by the glass had an adequate list - some of the other cocktails looked very interesting. CUISINE: We did a "home style sharing buffet" of Edamame, Spicy Rock Shrimp, Miso Cod, Spicy Miso Soup, and the King Crab roll. All very good to excellent. OVERALL: This is a nice Go-To Japanese/Pan-Asian place in Mandalay Bay that satisfies. It can get loud if crowded. YES we would go back.

We were staying at the mandalay bay hotel and went down to have sushi and it was great. Lots of options for food and drinks.

We decided to eat from the small plate selection which was absolutely delicious. Started with the House salad which was big enough for us both to share comfortably. Our choices were the Kobe beef tacos, yuzu kosho scallops, rock shrimp tempura, sashimi, crispy calamari, miso black cod and toban fillet. My husband’s #1 was the miso black cod. To me the black cod and Kobe beef tacos were a toss up ...along with the toban fillet lol. Only one both of us agreed we wouldn’t bother with again was the rock shrimp tempura - it didn’t look anything special and the taste didn’t reach the extremely high standard of the rest. All the plates were beautifully presented and had enough that we had enough to enjoy between us.

The cucumber salad: Excellent; the Kumikaze roll: Very (very) good; the fried rice: VERY DISAPPOINTING - the vegetables were mushy, it was barely warm, and overall: this was not freshly made, it was soggy and had obviously been sitting too long. The service, however, was very good - thank you, Amanda!

Pros: - delicious creative rolls and appetizers - usually easy to nab a reservation Cons: - price (but probably on par with the other hotel restaurants of this caliber) I can only speak to the items I ordered, but the Hot Mess roll, Pop Rockin(?) roll with pop rocks, and Tuna Pizza are excellent. The seasonal soufflé is a nice finishing touch. The rolls and apps are on the pricier side ($21-26 each for the items mentioned) but I keep returning for the Tuna Pizza.

We visited Kumi on recommendation and enjoyed the food but not the overall experience We we seated promptly and our server offered menus and drinks As it was our first visit we ordered a number of small plates and generally all dishes were good and would order again (wouldn't order the kimchi Brussels sprouts again though) Our issues : - our food arrived ahead of our drinks and drinks took too long (esp as wasn't particularly busy in restaurant) - we didn't receive one of the dishes ordered until we had finished the rest of our food - we had to ask where it was and had clearly been forgotten - not ideal - although our table was fine in relation to the restaurant the experience was like eating fine food in a very busy train station or airport as the restaurant was 'open' to the casino/lobby area of the hotel. Not conducive to a 'fine dining' experience

Usually, we love these types of restaurants - upscale Japanese - with an American twist, but we were a little disappointed. Some dishes were great (short ribs) - others not so much (miso cod). Our server, however, was great - very attentive and informative.

I had no clue that we were spoiled in Madison, WI and Chicago, IL by some top rate sushi restaurants. Who knew? Instead of eating here I could have grabbed Sushi in the airport or from the cooler in Walgreens. So many great dining options in Vegas - go grab food somewhere else please!

Ate at the bar (unable to reserve a table for just one), but worked out great. Bartender friendly and professional, quick to take order for both drink and food. Drink was served immediately and sushi meals were brought out very quickly.

We haven't been to Mandalay Bay in a little while and on our way to a show we were looking for something light and shareable - and we came across the menu outside of the entrance to Kumi. My husband found something that looked quite intriguing and so did I, so we decided to give it a try, and I'm very glad we did. Our server Carl greeted us promptly and was incredibly friendly and professional. He did a good job at up-selling us easily from a couple glasses of wine to a bottle of wine LOL but it was definitely a good recommendation for the dishes we were looking at. The dish that caught my husband's eye was the Kobe Beef Tacos and the dish that caught my eye was the Crispy Pork Rolls. Both were beyond our expectations and are perfect dishes to share. Finally enough the tacos were my favourite and the rolls were my husband's favourite! We were initially looking for something light but felt we needed a little bit more after sharing those so we ordered the Bao Buns with pork belly. They were good but we felt the other two dishes were a little bit better. Don't get me wrong though, it was very tasty. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone that enjoys shareable dishes. And if you get our server Carl, you'll be in great hands!

I splurged and had the chef's choice dinner here - it was fabulous! OK, expensive, but fabulous. The sushi was fresh, the steak as tender as any I've ever had, brussels sprouts were made to perfection! I sat at the counter, and the service and chefs were friendly and informative. Wine choices were good and reasonably priced. I highly recommend this restaurant.

My wife and I ate here on our first night in Vegas. The service was quite good and we loved our food. The spicy Miso soup was a nice twist. The Hot Mess was excellent. They have a roll with Pop Rocks that we didn't try but I heard later that it was very good as well

We quite liked this place. It’s on a major thoroughfare between the Luxor and Mandalay Hotels, so it’s quite open to the passing punters, yet relaxed. We found that ordering lots of small tasting dishes led to a bill that was way more than we’d intended to spend (particularly once they add taxes and you pay a tip). The Jodori Chicken was an east meets (US) west dish - chicken wth mash and maple syrup sauce. It was OK, but we thought the classical Japanese dishes were more successful, particularly the black cod with miso. The eggplant dish was good too. To be fair, we didn’t have sushi, which is what they specialise in. The service was fine and they had some good wines. Not a bad option.

Servers were disinterested and not attentive. Beef rib appetizer was very bland. The “Kobi” beef entree was salty and lacking flavour. Avoid this place.

Nice relaxing atmosphere, excellent wait staff and delicious food, generous portions. I ordered a salad and it was enough for a meal. Nice menu selection. Will definitely be back.

Always stop in here for sushi late night when traveling and arriving later in the day. Most other restaurants are closed. Citizens is still open too at this time, but the food there is lousy. Great sushi, and other choices on the menu, quick service and always pleasing. Definitely try this place.

We’ve been to a lot of sushi restaurants and if you want good sushi that’s reasonable value you could do worse than eat here. Worth a try is the ‘hot mess’ although not particularly spicy (less than a jalapeño I’d say)....and the soft shell crab, although the addition of the cream cheese I found odd... it it worked so not complaining. We also had a platter with 14 mixed pieces...that came in at about $35....not excessive but if there’s 2 of you, you’ll probably want another couple of dishes...best shout is to order a couple, leave the menu at your table and if you want more just ask your waiting staff...we did it and Daniel couldn’t be more obliging. Drinks a little dear....but service good, clean, tidy....nicely out the way of the casino floor (so a bit quieter), all in pretty good

Food here is wonderful but as a Dutch guy the amount you get for that price is a little low. Still if you like Sushi it is a place to go

Went here prior to a concert. Food was good, service was great (our waiter actually seemed to have tried everything on the menu) and made great suggestions as to what we would enjoy.

After a long day of travelling I was exhausted but I was also in Vegas and needed to be out and about. I was staying at the Delano so I decided to walk about Mandalay Bay and get a lay of the land. I was considering Citizens or Libertine Social for a later dinner but decided I was in the mood for sushi and Kumi caught my eye. They have a late night happy hour available. I sat at the bar and had a great bartender who was super friendly and took great care of me. The sushi was fresh and there was a wide selection, including some unique rolls. If I stay at MB/Delano again I will definitely be back!

Very good quality Sushi, Sashimi, and table service. Very loud as the outer tables are along the cavernous hall leading from the Mandalay Bay Casino to the Convention Center. Hard to have a conversation - get a table in the back behind the sushi bar. It's quite there and it's almost like a forest setting with leafy tree paintings overhead and on the side walls. Prices are very high IMHO relative to other sushi places in town and even on the Strip. The Toro Big Eye Tuna sashimi at $34.00 per piece!! tasted absolutely amazing- it literally melts in your mouth, but at this price, I have only had it twice in my life. Crispy Pork Belly ($25.00), Unagi Roll ($15.00), and a "Pop Rocks" embedded sashimi was inventive and tasty but at $22.00 - I could have had a whole dinner somewhere else. Nice place, very good food, but too expensive for my taste. Better value elsewhere- especially with the noise level that makes dining not too pleasant.

This is an amazing Sushi Restaurant that I am happy to have made reservations for once again and once again not disappointed. Everything is very fresh and delicious, even the beer was crisp and fresh tasting. Very happy with this restaurant and I would highly recommend!

My wife flipped out over the Pop Rock Roll. Yes, it explodes in your mouth. And, the tuna hand roll was off the chain. I had one the first night and ordered two the second night. Everything we tried was amazing!

We’ve eaten at Kumi at least a dozen times both as a couple and with family. We typically order black cod, wagyu gyoza, egg plant along with fried rice. All cooked to perfection: Black cod - lovely thin crusty ‘miso’ like glaze that melts in the mouth Egg plant - crispy skin with melted mozzarella and sweet miso glaze - perfect Wagyu gyoza - drop the 🎤 I don’t think there is better in the world. Fried Rice 🍚 - here is the big let down from 2023. For those big portion eaters, you will be disappointed as the volume is around 1/4 of the egg fried rice previously prepared. That wasn’t a deal breaker for us. However, the chefs seems to inflexible on adapting the menu. I wanted to add shrimp but the Chefs were not willing to add. I would be cool with this if it’s wasn’t for the fact that it was a Japanese Sushi 🍣 restaurant so there should be a clue in there somewhere….All this and priced at $16 which hadn’t changed in 2023 (ie less for more). Service from front desk to table side was exemplary. It’s a shame that either change of management, cost pressures or inflexible chefs slightly spoilt the experience. I think the 4 rating is fair, but for $150 meal for two with no alcohol. You are in Hakkasan league price wise but unable to punch in the same league

Cool place, with quick and professional service. Food was delicious - try they house specials. Seating where sushi is prepared makes it even more special.

Had a fantastic dinner at Kumi. The Kobe Short Ribs were fantastic as were the sides. The lava cake I had for dessert was probably the best I ever had anywhere and the espresso was the best I had outside of Italy. Service was excellent - the server was extremely attentive and very pleasant. Would definitely come back.

What a boring and lackluster restaurant. It’s not what it used to be. Very limited menu items. Also a very limited cocktail menu. We wanted to order a small bottle of sake. They only had large bottles. What kind of Japanese restaurant has such a limited sake variety. The only thing they have going for them is the location. We will not be returning. There are way too many other fantastic restaurants to choose from.

The sushi was so fresh and delicious. Please do yourself a favor and try the protien roll! My absolute favorite was the soft shell crab roll. Shishito peppers along with the calimari and brussel sprout side dish all good choices. The specialty drinks were also well balanced. My group would definately return!

My husband and I ate here before seeing the show at the Casino. We ordered a bunch of small plates to share. Every single dish was amazing. We had the Fried Calamari, Kobe Beef Tacos, Pop Rockin' Sushi, House Salad, and Shrimp Gyoza. I highly recommend them all if you are planning to eat here. The cocktails were also delicious. The service was unbeatable. Our waitress was extremely friendly and helpful. She made sure to ask if there were any allergies or dietary restrictions, and even asked if we had a time limit due to other plans for the evening. Our empty dishes were cleared immediately when we finished a course to make room for the other food on the table. This is definitely our new "must go" place in Vegas!

This place is grossly overpriced for what you get. The waiter said the dishes were family style but there was barely enough to feed one person. Please don’t promote your dishes as family style as it isn’t possible to share the dishes. It is very misleading. Overall, everything tasted fine but there just wasn’t enough. We spent $600 for 4 and then our men went out for burgers.

Loved the tuna hand roll, so light and flavorful! Would highly recommend, especially with a glass of Prosecco!

For the price tag I expected something a little more unique in terms of what the menu offered . Came in with two kids the waitress did not enjoy it very much , our table was ghosted considering we did have kids and probably required forks etc. but not a suggestion in hand . Water was down to the bottom and we were slurping on ice. For the price you expect better service. Had 3-5 different people bringing in food but had to constantly be in search of the waitress even though the restaurant was less than half full. Would I recommend this place definitely NOT would I ever come back? Definite NOT! There are far better places in the area that offer similar food with similar decor with much better service. I’m not sure how you hire somebody with Pinks attitude to serve at an established as this very off putting attitude better belong at a rock bar. You’d think a restaurant of this callibar would be a little more attentive given it was a quiet night. Disappointing, left with a sour taste in our mouth , absolutely terrible service .

We wanted sushi for our last dinner in Vegas and I wish we would have gone steak. They have a limited menu for what I expected. Only about a dozen roll selections and the sushi was limited. The place looks fantastic. The service was efficient and fast. It was also needlessly expensive. We had two appetizers, 3 rolls, and 1 drink - $230 with tip. I have had much better sushi. The rolls were bland and the apps looked appealing but also disappointed. They do not have a full bar. Would not patron again - go steak.

Pretty good sushi. Quick service. But a tad pricy. Located in the Mandalay Bay resort just off the casino gaming floor.

Was here with a group of about 8 people and it was so not good. The choices were minimal and just wasn’t good sushi. It was expensive and way overpriced from what I could get something better from a vendor on the street. The service wasn’t good and just everything, like the entire hotel, was just missing. We spent a lot of money just so we can tell our friends to stay away.

Went there for dinner before the show. The food was really good and the service was outstanding. We were running s little late but they expedited the food and we made the show on time. Overall a great experience just wish it was closer to everything else.

Good food at Kumi, while slightly overpriced. Service was good and attentive, but disorganized. We had 5 main dishes (for 5 people) that had been brought within 5 minutes of each other, so we haven't actually eaten together... Very weird... and absolutely no explanation or apology. Of course we would have preferred to have all 5 brought together at the same time. Ohh well....Interesting how sushi took the longest to be prepared, while the ribs and the steaks were brought first.

In Las Vegas, My wife and I have been at the top rated and highly acclaimed chef sushi restaurants throughout the strip. But this trip, little talked about Kumi at Mandalay Bay blew them all away. From the moment we were greeted, this was to be a wonderful experience. Our server, Brandan, may be one of the best we have ever had. He walked us through the house specialities, recommended a saki for me and paced the meal perfectly. He had plenty of help from a team of service professionals that never missed a beat. It is still not your local sushi place when it comes to prices, but Kumi will have us coming back where as many others on the strip will not.

Eat in the restaurant not the bar area for a better atmosphere, otherwise it's like you're eating in a massive hotel thoroughfare. The food is small plates/tapas style Japanese. It's a great option for couples or groups and you can just keep adding plates as you go. Everything was very tasty and I'd definitely return if I get back to Vegas. It's pricier than some but felt like a special occasion place, for us it was our last night splurge.

I'll be honest, I don't remember half of my dinner here, because...Vegas, but I know the food was wonderful. The crispy rice roll was great and I think we had some kind of tacos. If you want good sushi, give it a try.

This was a fine experience. Actually, we both walked out of here saying how awesome the service was. The food was "eh" The restaurant, like everywhere in Vegas, was incredibly loud. The wine by the glass offerings were disappointing. The food was overly sweet. This highlight of the dinner was the "protein roll" which was interesting. The Japanese eggplant was the surprise of the night - I don't even like eggplant and this was great. All in all, everything seemed over sauced and over done - there was not a single item that was bright or fresh tasting - it all had the same flavor profile. I would not recommend using up a vacation dinner here.

Excellent sushi! Excellent service! Great atmosphere! Wine list is short but strong. Great place outside of the casino area.

At KUMI the Japanese restaurant where the waitresses dressed in tiny little dresses they were SO RUDE they looked my boyfriend up and down and laughed at us, which was interesting as we were dressed reasonably well (but conservative). Clearly didn’t get the memo you had to have as little clothing on as possible to be accepted here. They looked over at us as we ate and when we were seating, constantly turning back to whisper and laugh. The three girls were two brunettes and a blonde, which were greeting and seating. However the food was astonishing, and waiters were great. Probably wouldn’t return because of the judgement and attitude of them. obviously hard to control staff attitude. Literally felt so uncomfortable the whole night trying to enjoy a nice meal while the staff acted inappropriately. Such as shame as the food was 10/10 and the waiters on the floor were always very good. Too bad for a few bad eggs. Will not be returning if they are there.

We sat at the sushi bar at Kumi, which oddly felt a bit quieter and less cacophonous than the rest of this restaurant, whose design is quite lovely, except sadly, it is completely open to the mass hordes streaming through the Mandalay, and the noises and smells that come with it. A design flaw that is my only complaint about this otherwise terrific restaurant. This is NOT an oasis of serenity of the sort I prefer if I'm going for a high-end sushi experience. The service both from our waitress (who is responsible for appetizer/kitchen orders) and our sushi chef was excellent. Prompt, friendly and helpful. The sake menu is extensive. The quality of the fish was excellent, and fresh wasabi is such a treat (just a dot directly on the protein, not mixed in the soy) - it's a shame more places don't go this way - it immediately elevates the quality a notch or two.

I have tried most things on the menu, this trip in July 2018. EVERYTHING is mouthwatering delicious! My favourites are the dumplings, hot mess sushi, kobe spareribs and kobe tacos.

After some terrible misses at the Luxor restaurants, I walked over to Mandalay Bay after reading reviews for nearby restaurants. I saw Kumi was highly rated so I went there, and WOW. It really lived up to any expectations I had. I tried the salmon nigiri, Kumikaze, and Rainbow, and they were all outstanding. The wait staff and the sushi chefs were outstanding. The waiters came by to check on me, didn't get upset with me when I spilled soy sauce at the bar, helped me push my bar chair in when it was obvious I was struggling to push myself up to the counter (short and overweight ftw). The sushi chefs were very kind and made sure I enjoyed their creations. It was a great experience. The ambience of the restaurant was great. I'd definitely go back again.

Hubby loves sushi, me not at all. This makes it hard for him to get enough sushi. We were recently in Las Vegas and walking through Mandalay Bay looking for something to eat, not agreeing on anything. We came to KUMI and decided to stop. It is very elegant to look at, but we went inside anyway. Hubby was dressed well, but I was very under dressed. The hostess treated us like royalty and this feeling continued throughout our experience. Their sushi was wonderful and presented well. I ordered calamari which was nearly perfect and came with a hot, spicy dipping sauce. There were several tables with larger groups so we had lots of interesting people and dishes to see. Our waiter was very willing to answer any question we asked and they allowed us to linger after eating - nearly unheard of in Las Vegas. Highly recommended.

Kumi is one of a plethora of restaurants in the Mandalay Bay Resort. The menu was intriguing, so I grabbed an early seat at the Sushi Bar. The food was excellent along with a good choice of sake. It is expensive depending on what and how much you want to eat and as it gets busier it does get noisy. Service was good and would consider it again.

here you can found the perfect combination between asian food and fusion dishes. You can eat inside the restaurant or at the bar zone, but any place you choose your experience will be unforgettable. Just check the prices, to avoid scares ;)

This restaurant inside Mandalay Bay offers an amazing menu that far exceeded my expectations. Service is fantastic whether at the bar or a table. Try the Pork Gyoza's, the "Pop Rocking" sushi roll, the Hot Mess roll and the Shrimp Tempura roll. To end, the Hazelnut cake is pretty awesome!

This place serves such beautiful food that u dont want to eat it! The staff was very helpful and even my vegetarian friends could have a hearty meal. Will definitely go again.

Nice late night happy hour at the bar from 8pm on. Asahi on the cheap and a nice selection of small plates at "let me try a couple" prices. Most are spicy but can be made without all that hot. Nice ambiance too.

We went as a larger group and had a set menu. The salad was good but had way too much dressing. The sashimi was lacking. The miso chicken was just ok. The hand rolls were the best. Great service and a cool space.

This is a beautiful restaurant with great service and fantastic food. Our server Leah was very kind and helped us celebrate my daughters birthday dinner with a free dessert and extra attention. The reason why I cannot rate it higher is because there was a limited menu due to it being "off-season" which felt more like "slow Vegas" tourism time. Unfortunately I believe all the Vegas high fee's have finally bit back because I visit Vegas every summer and this was by far the slowest I have seen it, aside from Covid of course. I would definitely return but only if the full menu is offered. However, what we did try was fantastic. I recommend the Spicy tuna crispy rice and the Kumikaze roll. Cocktails were also fantastic. We had the Lychee Rose (martini) and Ichigo Nights (margarita-ish).

Came here for dinner while In town. Service was very good. Decent menu with typical strip hotel prices. We good the spicy rock shrimp, fried rice with chicken, their special sushi roll and a very nice salad as well as the pork buns. Everything came out correctly and the food was very good. We also got the chocolate brownie which was awesome!

I was surprise to see some good reviews about Kumi. It’s over priced sushi/roll that does not even wow your eyes! Presentation is disappointing and so is the taste. The server said that -“the serving is meant for sharing” I was very surprise to hear that WELL what he meant was they put all the order in one big plate so you can share LOL Stupid really! The ribs was okay, the dragon roll - you need to disect it for you to see the eel. I respect other peoples opinion when they say this is the BEST JAP Rest - my recommendation for y’all - PLEASE check other Japanese Resto outside Mandalay or just go somewhere else!

We went with a group of 8 and really enjoyed ourselves. Appetizers were absolutely stunning. A secret menu with chef’s picks had many creative choices. The Pop Rocks roll was a favorite. A few of our group were new to sushi and enjoyed things they tried that they never would have order alone. A smoked steak dish presentation was amazing. Only complaint was the timing was a bit off with many getting their orders first and the two steak dishes coming after all others had finished eating. Overall an amazing group dining experience. Be prepared to spend some money. With 4-5 apps, drinks and meals, we spent over $700. Lucky we setup a VIP experience package that included a $400 dining credit.

We tried Kumi again after a pleasant visit the last time we were in Vegas. Once again, the sushi was great. Slightly overpriced, but not too overboard in comparison to other Mandalay Bay restaurants. Beautiful seating areas both inside and in the bar area which provides better people watching. The tuna pizza was good and our sushi rolls were great! One of our go-to restaurants here!

We’ve been to a lot of sushi places in Vegas (including private dinners and experiential dinners where only a small amount of people sits across from the chef) and Kumi is up there. In short, if you like sushi go to Kumi. Food What we love about Kumi is that it’s one of very few places that has both great sushi and great non-sushi food. Most great sushi restaurants kill it with their maki/nigiri/sashimi but then anything else you order is whatever. At Kumi you can eat delicious food without ever even ordering a piece of sushi. Service The staff is nice and attentive. We did have one server at least 3 times and she never seems to remember us which is weird and rare in Vegas, but apart from that it’s all good. Vibe It’s a bit of a mixed bag. The restaurant looks nice, but it is at the Mandalay Bay next to the expo so it’s sort of like putting a great and upscale sushi place by the grand central station in New York. Just brings the vibe down a bit. Still very nice place once you’re in though. Overall Go here and eat sushi. Period.

My favorite about Nobu is the Chef tasting where they bring you some of the best one course at a time. I asked if this restaurant could do something similar AND WE ALL LOVED IT. Unlike Nobu, they bring more than 1 dish out at a time and a party of 4 walked away full, not needing the last 2 dishes. The specialty peach cocktail was amazing. This restaurant and food was better than I expected. Happy to take a customer here, but do the tasting menu...so fun and good.

My friend and I ate here for dinner while attending a conference at the Mandalay Bay. We sat down at 5pm and ordered happy hour drinks. The server said that we were too late, they only went until 5pm... So we paid full price & the cocktail was only okay. I had the veggie rolls & edamame for dinner as it was the only vegan option on the menu. Edamame was very salty but the rolls were good. My friend enjoyed her tuna tacos. Overall an average experience.

Taking my mother out for her 91 st Birthday we had the Spicy Miso soup and the Calamari.. Just as we were going To dig in the Calamari, Mom dropped her water glass on the table. Before we could even react the staff was asking if Mom was okay , moved her away from the table and secured her a safe spot. Took away the food in case there was glass and had a new order in moments. It was amazing and it saved my mother from embarrassment. I can not tell you how grateful I am that they took such care of her. This place is fantastic.

This restaurant is AMAZING!! Highly recommend the dumplings, they melt in your mouth, and the tomato ponzu sauce is to die for! (You will put it on other items it's so good). Sushi was delicious!! Recommend the Hot Mess! Kobe tacos were good too if you don't like fish.

We missed the opening by a week, but have eaten at Kumi at least once every trip. The pear cocktail is perfectly light and balanced to set up a sea of small plates. Our favorites are the Tuna Tataki, Rock Shrimp Tempura, Yellowtail Serrano, Tuna Pizza and no trip would be complete without the Toban Filet. The service is excellent and attentive. Kumi always delivers.

We went here for late dinner this weekend. We had some sushi, buns and a great sufle dessert to finish it of. The sushi is very nice, very tasty and the selection is good. The dessert was someting special, it stood out - more so than the sushi itself. Staff is super friendly and effective. I would absolutley come back here. Yeeah - and they have a excelent selection of sake!!

After reading the various reviews, Jill and I find ourselves revisiting our meal just to be sure we’re ‘on the mark’ with OUR experience and not being overly critical. And in doing so, we proceed with a clear conscience. Overall, the best part of Kumi is the service. It is exceptional. And for us, that is a necessity in having a positive experience. We had a fellow, looked and sounded like Jon Cryer. He was incredibly friendly, engaging and knowledgeable. An absolute delight! And an absolute gentlemen! At one point, he escorted Jill to the ladies room, waited for her and escorted her back to the table (she had consumed a fair bit of wine- yayah!). We (meaning, me) REALLY enjoy sushi as well as seafood in general. We have eaten at many a locale from the white linen five stars’ to the ‘just off the dock’ dive. Sadly, I found the sushi here to be rather pedestrian both in taste and serving size (particularly the sashimi and nagiri). The menu was surprisingly limited, as well. What they did offer was sort of ‘gimmicky’ if that makes sense (sushi rolls with pop rocks???). Sorry, but not my style. Jill, on the other hand, absolutely LOVED her teriyaki salmon! She raved about the flavor. From my perspective, the serving size was unusually large, to boot. So where do we stand? Well, if you’re going for sushi, etc., I’d take a pass, unfortunately. And I say unfortunately because the aesthetics of the restaurant are really quite appealing, particularly in the bar area (lounge-like). I would recommend that management open up the dining area just a wee bit. If you’re going for anything else, you’re in a good hands! Actually, regardless… you’re in very good hands (service-wise, that is).

Food good Noisy Main room Wine 100 bottle ONLY OPTION or 18 glass Service good. Would not return If you do go...beware of the high level surcharge on bill

Delicious food, fast service, reasonably priced, great variety of fish. Our waiter took notice of our food restrictions and the chef came to our table to confirm that it was safe to eat everything we ordered. We will go back

My boyfriend and I went to this restaurant for valentine’s night and it was both our first time. The decor and aesthetics is magnificent and intriguing. It’s a rather large restaurant that still feels intimate. As soon as we got seated, the waiter presented me with a glitter-covered Rose! The service was phenomenal and the food was amazing as well. The calamari and the Kumi Mari Hand Roll is yummy and so is the green tea matcha drink with the gin! I got the short ribs which were so AMAZING and my boyfriend got the salmon, which was awesome too. We topped it off with the strawberry soufflé for dessert, which completely topped of the amazing experience. The price is pretty good for the quality of food that is served with the amazing service. We will definitely be returning.

The menu and selections are weird. It is sort of Japanese, sort of American, but nothing goes together and the food is average at best. The service is attentive, but the waiters treat you like you are children and need their guidance. We also ate at MOzen and had much better food, service and ambiance at a more reasonable price.

Restaurant in Mandalay Bay Seated quickly. The hostess took a photo for us as well. Michael was our server. They didn’t have Pernod, but did have Bulleit, and the right artisan cherries for a Woodford Reserve old-fashioned. Ordered Bao Buns (excellent) and sushi (unagi, and Alaskan King Crab) to start. Awesome, fresh. Well-prepared. Ordered hot saki; dry and hot, so my husband was happy. Entree (split) was the Kobe short ribs. FALL OFF THE BONE. They graciously brought a knife, but it wasn’t required. :) Dessert was a chocolate lava cake and strawberry soufflé with vanilla ice cream and a blackberry creme anglaise. Both done to PERFECTION. Bravo, Kumi!!

This restaurant has Fabulous Food - Seriously!!!. We were in Las Vegas for the Rolling Stones with Good Friends, and I got us a large table, which we needed for all the wonderful entrees that we ordered. There is just so many incredible menu choices to decide from that you can't help ordering more! We met Matthew Moog, Manager, who gave me his card in between laps around the restaurant. I reached out to Daniel 3 days later and he arranged for another large table of Friends that i wanted to share the dining experience with, to their amazement, as well.

Wait staff was excellent. Appetizers and sushi were some of the best I ever had. The waiter checked with the chef on all of the items that my daughter could eat as she has an onion allergy. He even made some recommendations for her, which were fantastic. Definitely make a reservation in advance as it was fully booked.

I met some business associates here for dinner. As it was a large group I got to try many of the starters. All were very good. I had sushi for dinner and had some of the best salmon nigari that I have ever had. A bit pricy but what isn't in Vegas. I would definitely go again.

Staying at the Mandalay Bay, my wife and I walked around looking at the menus at the restaurants within the hotel. Kumi looked very inviting and we were glad we had dinner here. We started with a California Roll, Miso Soup and then Salmon with Yuzu Mushrooms. Nicely presented, the food was flavorful and plentiful. The restaurant is very inviting and worth a visit.

I will admit that I'm a bit of a sushi snob. Went for a business dinner at Kumi. Drinks were good sushi was outstanding. Both the rolls & the sushi & sashimi were fresh & tasteful. This is deffently a come back to place.

Incredible quality, freshness, preparation and presentation - I felt like I was back in Kyoto or Tokyo. All aspects of our meal from the menu variety to the service were outstanding. Make sure to try the miso crab soup and don't miss the greatest hamachi in town. Restaurant was full upon our arrival yet our table was ready and waiting. Can't wait to go back!

All of the food we ordered was great, some unique offerings and all quite tasty. We felt the prices were just a little high, especially since we were SO rushed. We were literally in and out in about 35 minutes....we felt like we were really being hurried, which would have been great if we were in a hurry but we wanted to take our time and dine. We've definitely had better sushi, better prices and a better experience but maybe this was just a fluke!

I was so impressed with this restaurant that I felt compelled to write a review. I was dining with my mother. I was frankly hangry. Although there were no tables available for another hour, the hostess sat us by the bar - which had full access to the dinner menu. Our first server, Kevin, was excellent. He promptly brought us drinks and let the waitress know that we were starving. Connie was superb! She said that the kitchen is very busy causing orders to come to table slower. That was not our experience at all. The food came out within 10 minutes and was excellent. The ingredients were fresh and very well seasoned. My mom and I ordered four appetizers to share and a California roll. We left Kumi's full. Further, my hanger was cured. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. Whether you are going for a drink and appetizers ,or a sit down meal, Kumi is a great choice. Again, a special thank you to Kevin and Connie. You are a credit to this establishment. We hope to return again before going home.

My husband and I were in Vegas on a business trip & we absolutely love Sushi. KUMI was conveniently in the path to and from our business conference. Beautiful & classy/modern, busy (fills for up fast) restaurant with friendly trained, professional hosting & serving staff. Our service was super slow after we got our water and ended up having a couple different servers. However I think our original server had all her tables filled including a larger sized reservation. The experience was fine because it was date night and we didn't mind waiting for service. However we were definitely left a bit shocked once we ordered and got our food. For the prices on their menu, you don't get as much as you would in most Sushi Restaurants. Mind you, the quality of the fish was top notch & the creativity behind the rolls were delicious, therefore justifying the prices. Unfortunately we were left still hungry after spending $100 USD and actually had to leave to go eat an actual meal somewhere else. Definitely a must taste if you're willing to spend the money on something delicious and unique. But as it appeared, it seems like a business environment to take partners to for drinks and have sushi as something to snack on.

Like most things on the Strip, prices are higher than most North American cities. The sashimi and Nigiris we ordered were succulent, while the rolls were also finger licking good.

The best Japanese food in my entire life. We ordered a plate of “Sushi Moriawase” and it was spectacular, it is difficult to describe how tasty each bite of sushi or each niguiri is. The softness of each bite was indescribable and the flavor was even better. Wasabi had real power. My drink was a matcha tea and I immediately realized that although I have bought and prepared many matcha teas, I was far from doing it well. In the end, a sweet and white chocolate dessert to die for. The prices are expensive, but it is worth it. The only way I can understand the bad comments is because they found the prices very high and had no other way to express themselves. Totally recommended, if you are willing to pay a little more… The service of the young woman who served us was at the level of a top restaurant, all the time.

Over the last 2 years, I have probably taken my girlfriend to 30+ sushi restaurants. Following our dinner at Kumi during our first night in town, we were in agreement that this restaurant is probably one of the best we've experienced. Service was prompt and courteous, and the sushi was outstanding. If you like rolls, you have to try the Hot Mess Roll. We also had some individual pieces of nigiri, and were pleased with the flavor, texture, temperature . . . everything. We're not big on going to the same restaurant twice during vacations, but made an exception here given how tasty everything was during our initial visit.

There are so many choices to eat at the Mandalay Bay and this is one of the better ones. If you like Japanese food, you should definitely try this one. The service and atmosphere is just as good as the food

Had never tried sushi before in Vegas so we opted for Kumi (inside Mandalay Bay). We went around 5pm so was very quiet but that didn't bother us. The décor of the restaurant is really nice. We just got a few things to share like the surf & turf roll, prawn tempura, chicken karrage, shishito peppers and the prawn tempura roll. This was a perfect amount for 2 people. The surf & turf roll in particular was a stand-out to me. The staff were all excellent too. I can't remember exactly what the cost was, but I remember thinking it was reasonable. Would happily go back. I know this isn't related to the restaurant specifically but we also really liked the interior of Mandalay Bay as well, I don't know if it's recently had some investment but the casino floor was immaculate and seemed to have many interesting bar and restaurant choices. We will be sure to return to Mandalay Bay on our next visit and either go back to Kumi or try a different restaurant.

This place was way over priced for sushi. We ordered waters and had to ask for some ice as they just brought Luke warm water over. It was good. The service was good. But I wouldn't go back.

On a large group we received excellent serving and we experienced many of the specialties appetizer we shared. The kobo steak was excellent as some of the sushi rolls. Large restaurant but reasonably quiet in spite of the location on the main path to the convention center inside the Mandalay

Love this place. We sat at the sushi bar. Sushi chef was very attentive. Listen to my husband and made everything he wanted. (Off menu). Made everything special to us and for us. Our favorite on menu is the "pop rockin" sushi roll. Who would think of putting POP ROCKS into a sushi roll but it works and we keep eating it. Also the rock shrimp tempura is excellent. Also have enjoyed the "hot mess"

Fancy place with great sushi. My hosts had been there before and ordered something that was basically continuous food, Lots & everything was great - the cost of drinks really runs the price up.

We were a party of 9 people for dinner. Seated at a table for 8 at best so there was a little of a squeeze factor here, and it would have been best to be seated at a round table and not a regular table especially when dishes are to be shared. Asked hostess if we could be moved and got the old vague blank stare look, and I just did not feel it was going to change. The food was okay at best but the service of having 1 waiter who was handling other tables as well does not work with a party of 9. To order the drinks took about 25 -30 minutes and that should have been the first sign of things to come. I get that the kitchen sends out the dishes as they are made, but when 5 of the people got their food after a long wait yet 4 people were without their food when the 5 had already finished their food. Yet only after asking when the food was coming and again another wait we got the "the chef is sorry for the delay as the restaurant was busy, excuse". Surely this is not the first or last time this place has been busy. What kind of excuse was this to send out with the waiter. It does not change the fact that the experience of dining is to eat together and not as it was done here, when half the party was ready to leave and the food is about to come out for the others and frankly everyone is done and dusted at this point to get the food. It just gets wasted and is not enjoyable. The food is not cheap and for the prices charged they should have done better and to express any apology after is too late. I am still going to hold out for just that, an apology but I may wait a long time. For me I am not returning to this place as it was at best a mediocre experience in general and there are so many other great Sushi places in Vegas to try out.

Lovely meal, very good service -(extremely helpful) highly recommend! If we were back in Vegas we would certainly visit again

A friend and I ate here for our girls night in Vegas. The service was great! The drinks were delicious, though a bit pricier than other places. The sushi was fresh and flavorful.

Overall quite a poor experience. 30 min delay to get seated, and even then only seated after inquiring about status and being told "15 more min, but a 'real' 15 min this time". This despite there being multiple tables open in the restaurant, none of which were filled during our entire dinner period. Took another 15 min to get any sort of service once we were seated, and once order was taken, food showed up in only about 2-3 min, which might sound good, but was evidence that it was all preprepared as opposed to being freshly cut and made after we ordered (which I would expect in a sushi restaurant of this alleged quality). There were 2 sushi chefs working the sushi counter, but our food came from a back area not visible to customers, further evidence it was not freshly prepared. Quality was average for sushi, but well below what I would have expected from other reviews.

Asian style food, marvelous sushi and sashimi choices, service excellent only down side is waiter does not always deliver food to table. That said the person delivering to table always gave correct food to correct person. No food auctions! Cocktails were well made not strong but not ice water either.

This is our Go to Restaurant for consistently AMAZING meals in Las Vegas. The food is outstanding, the service is engaging, which makes the whole dining experience well worthwhile. Honestly, we were too busy eating to take photos! That is great food! Justin Catanese and Team have it down - Period!!!

I'm not into roles that cost $40 and come with 5 pieces. That's what you will find here. Was it good? You bet it was - very good indeed - just not $40 good. 2 pieces of nigiri for $20? it's just not my thing. I had no qualms with the food, it was super.

Staff were aggravated we were there. The bar service was horrible and there were no selections. It was simply buy a $100 bottle of wine or a $100 bottle of saki.

The fish is some of the freshest I've had in Vegas so that's definitely a plus. I had the sashimi bowl (as pictured) and really enjoyed it. For $50, it actually is pretty good value. Most of the appetizers and dessert though were a bit pricey for not a lot of food. I also got the shrimp tempura app and the mochi dessert. Not really worth the $20 each for those. Service is pretty good, especially at the sushi bar while the sushi chefs gave us some free sashimi to try. Food came really fast but service to pay was a bit slow. Additionally, we spilled some water but no one seemed to care so we stole some napkins from another table. Overall pretty good sushi for Vegas but definitely expect to pay a bit more for it.

We had an amazing 'Last Night in Vegas' dinner at Kumi although we ordered too much and ended up staggering off to bed after dinner. I've walked by this restaurant so many times and wonder now why I didn't go in, what was wrong with me? If I had known it was so good I would have been in here every night! To cut it short, this is what we had: wagyu gyoza. edamame, crispy Brussels sprouts, maple glazed ribs and kumi fried rice. Honestly it was a bit too much as we weren't really that hungry but I wish I could have eaten more. Amazing flavours and beautiful presentation. The environment is very relaxed, yet upscale and while being clearly expensive doesn't seem over-pretentious. Also, don't be afraid to go in here if you are not a sushi-lover. I am allergic to shellfish and I found a tremendous number of things on the menu that I like. My husband isn't a sushi fan either. It's just genuinely fantastically good food. Can't wait to go back and try more of their offerings. Also a big shout out to our server who had a alcohol-free cocktail made for me as I was flying the next morning and didn't want to drink alcohol. He asked me what flavour I wanted and came back with a divine concoction from the bar. Awesome service from a really nice server. Thank you!

Should you have the opportunity to sit at the sushi bar, I would definitely do it. I had the opportunity to have a friendly interaction with the Japanese chefs and watch them cut the fresh fish and prepare the sushi. Of course, you can always order extra if you like something else. After my sushi and sashimi, I enjoyed the flavourful fried rice with shrimp. The staff is friendly, good, and quick in service.

The Sushi was amazing...I’m not a big sushi person but my boyfriend is and i tried his and it was amazing the flavor and texture OMG!!! I’m hooked can’t wait to go back!!!

Probably the best meal that I’ve ever had! Everything we ate was at our server’s recommendation. The three seaweed salad was phenomenal! The ribs were fall off the bone tender. The hot mess roll was amazing! Salmon tiradito was scrumptious! The tuna tataki took the taste buds to heaven! We washed it down with a green geisha which is a must!

Visited Kumi during a business trip with a group of 5. The menu options were plentiful and they was even able to offer a more simple option for somebody in our party that does not really eat sushi so it completely worked out. The dishes are designed as a tapas style servings and perfect for sharing. The rolls were fresh and the flavors were incredible. The kitchen was the center experience and you could see all the prep and cooking which was pleasant to watch. At one point we rate her them cook a 40+ oz. tomahawk steak. All the beer is Japanese so if you’re looking for Blue Moon or Coors Light you might want to ask for a close suggested match. All in all it was an excellent dining experience and can’t wait to go back!

I was a guest of the Mandalay for three nights. And every night I went down to this place and try to sit down at the sushi bar and they wouldn't let me. The hostess said you had to wait in line I was just me and they would not sit me and literally I went to another place every night. Tonight 20 of 20 seats available at the sushi bar and she would not sit me and made me sit at the other bar They better be good; I never had a chance to eat or be served.

We were a bit skeptical of good sashimi and sushi in the desert, having experienced some amazing fresh fish in Japan, but we were pleasantly surprised by this wonderful restaurant. Everything was very fresh, prepared beautifully, and tasted wonderful. The sushi rolls were great, and the fresh sashimi was delightful. The ambience was relaxing, and our service was attentive and extremely friendly and helpful. We actually came here twice during our stay because we loved it so much. It’s located in the Mandalay Bay.

We were here for a latě lunch with my family And we really enjoyed here. We like the local atmosphere Which Is something special

Wanted to find a new Asian spot for dinner. Mission accomplished. Decided to have di. We at the bar and my expectations of food (I’m a foodie) and service were exceeded. Opted to enjoy a couple of martinis, Gin of course, along with a sampling of appetizers. The only Miss was the shishito peppers. While flavorful, there simply was too much sauce coating the peppers. The cucumber salad was very refreshing and recommended. I wish I could recall the name of the specialty roll. It was the hit. It may be the only one without rice (!). That will be tops on my next visit in January.

My husband and I enjoyed dining at Kumi over the weekend! Our waiter Simon was outstanding!! We definitely recommend the Pop Rock Sushi. Sooo good ;)

After a long ride into Las Vegas I was weary of burgers, and hungry for sushi. I was staying at the wonderful Mandalay Bay. I was rewarded by the rock shrimp tempura, a wonderful tasty dish which should be shared, followed by a spicy tuna roll 8 pieces. Way too much food but both dishes were done to perfection. I washed it down with a wonderful Asahi, icy cold. Prices were moderate for the Mandalay, and the ambiance and service could not have been more perfect.

This is a great restaurant, but pricey. The sashimi was excellent, very fresh and tender. My wife's chicken was good, a bit tough though. Great service.

This review is based on my experience of the SERVICE at Kumi. It stinks...in short, the front of house---hostesses and waitstaff just don't care and are just punching a clock on a shift. My wife and I were there about 9pm is in Mid September and after we were seated, we were ignored (and it was obvious) for about 20 minutes, so we walked out. To add insult to injury, as we walked out (never having placed an order) and the hostesses thanked us for coming ....really??????? There are so many restaurants in Las Vegas....I wouldn't give you 5 cents for this one.

This was the best food experience I’ve ever had. Ace the manager was incredible. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone in the Vegas area!

This place was perfect after our Michael Jackson show! We stopped by to grab a quick eat. Cool vibe and great food. One of the best sushi places I have been too.

3rd visit and each time has been more disappointing than the last. Tonight ordered Sapporo but they were out. A Japanese restaurant without Sapporo ? My husband ordered ice tea and they were out. How hard could it be for a Japanese restaurant to boil water with a tea bag? They didn’t seem to have any fresh fish specials and overall it was very disappointing. We buy frozen shrimp tempura from Costco that looked exactly like these square tempura pieces. Fresh tempura doesn’t look like this. Waitress seemed put off when we were not ordering cocktails and starters although our bill for two was in excess of $160

Kumi is an awesome Japanese restaurant that is located within the Mandalay Bay hotel. The food is served tapas style so it was fun to order a bunch of small plates and taste a lot of good menus items. The service was great and dishes came out very quickly. I'd go back here again in the future and recommend to anyone looking for an excellent Japanese meal.

We ordered the Spicy Misso Soup, Kamikaze and the Hot Mess rolls. Everything was really good but the best was Hot Mess! It's quite spicy for sushi and messy as per the name but that's exactly the fun of eating the roll. We ordered two cocktails but cannot say that we both were thrilled with those. At one point we both had a doubt if it had any alcohol in it as we didn't feel the taste. Our waiter was too nice and orders were taking a lot to come to the table hence I didn't want to bring it up and waste more time. Will I visit this again? Absolutely! But, I will drink elsewhere first.

Many choices are really good, fast service Fresh fish and you can try a lot, perfect for a family reunion.

The Yellow tail Serrano is very fresh and delicious! Unless you like candy with your sushi, I recommend you stay away from the Rock Shrimp Tempura! Its gross! It has Pop Rocks candy in it! The Spicy Miso Soup is delicious! A must! When we walked in we were seated at a table where cold air was hitting me. My hair was wet and I got very cold. We asked to be moved and our waiter seemed very disappointed! Oh well, I wasn't going to sit there and suffer! I think he was disappointed since we were no longer in his area and the restaurant isn’t that busy on most nights. Our new waitress was okay. She wasn’t very friendly! I felt that with so many dining choices, service could have been better!

I went for a light dinner. Ended up with the House Salad. It was crisp and flavorful. Not of fan of a full slice of radish, should have chopped them in half. Overall nice ginger dressing. Then I had the Scottish Salmon. It was perfect. Delicious teriyaki glaze on some blanched greens. I would order it again! All through the dining experience the staff kept my water full and was VERY attentive.

If you would have told me there was a sushi restaurant in Las Vegas serving sushi and watermelon pop rocks, I would not have believed you. But there is and it's a dish at Kumi. Sounds horrible, but it was wonderful and truly a unique experience. The best thing I had on the menu was the "Hot Mess" sushi roll. Fantastic. I sat at the bar and watched everything being made. Dinner and a show. Service was great. I was by myself and the waiters were very attentive and friendly.

There's a fine line between buzzy and atmospheric, and just noisy. Kumi just manages the latter, though I think if you sat on the outside edge, it may not be. Service good if a little rushed, and the food generally excellent. It's not cheap though - it's positioned itself as high end, which it just about pulls off. Nice meal, but at that price, we tried other places rather than returning

My wife and I have been to nice restaurants in the past and don't mind paying for good food and service. We have had good food with average service or so-so food with good service for the same price range as Kumi. But our experience on this night was more then expected. Every dish was perfect in flavor and presentation. Our wait staff was very pleasent and knowledgable. When asked what he would recommend, our waiter didn't recommend (or try to push) any particular dish. He told us what dishes he preferred and which dishes were the most popular. Our servers were attentive, but not to the point where we felt bothered or intruded on. When we complimented one of our waiters as we were leaving we found out that the young man we thought was our main server was still in training. That says something about how well this restaurant trains their staff. Everyone we came in contact with that night, from the hostess who managed to seat us earlier than what our reservation time was to the busers that made sure our water glasses were full and dishes promptly removed to the manager (Matt?) we spoke with at the end of our visit to inform him of how pleased we were with everything and compliment his staff. Each and everyone of them made us feel comfortable and welcome. Over all I would have to say that this was probably the most pleasant and enjoyable experience my wife and I have ever had when dining out. We WILL go back when we visit Las Vegas.

What a disappointment it was. We been there last year at it was magical dinner. So a week ago when we came to vegas the first dinner we rush to kumi. It was terrible. The waiter tell us lies about was suppose to be hot and cold. The sushi wasn’t glued like it should be. From the top restaurant in vegas it became the don’t go restaurant in vegas. What a waste!

After an event, we decided to eat at Kumi. The restaurant is large and the back room offers tables for groups, but it is noisy. The service was good, but not great. We let the waiter order for our group of 10. The appetizers were ok and nothing special. The rolls were good, but not great. The best meal was the Kobe beef short ribs. They were so tender. This is. It a cheap place and we expected more.

Spent three nights at Delano and ate at Kumi twice. On both nights our server was Jade and is great. We gave Jade our budget, told her our likes/dislikes and let her place our order. Jade did not disappoint! Even better, she mixed up our selections so nothing was duplicated the second time we ate. All of our selections were great. Great food, greater server and great place to people watch! Will be back!

What a great menu and food. Some of the best tacos we've ever had and the tuna pizza was great. The tempura was also great and the service great.
Pop rock sushi
I too must rave about the sushi roll with the watermelon pop rocks which was recommend by our server. I hesitated at this recommendation but am so glad we ordered it. It was incredible with a hint of sweetness, not at all what I expected. Wonderfully original. Traditional options were also perfect and balanced. Miso soup was everything you want miso to be. Calamari delicately breaded and perfectly tender. You won't go wrong if you choose to slay your sushi cravings here.
