My favorite restaurant in Miami

By gabimutti |

KYU is one of those places you can never get enough of. The menu items, the service, the drinks are exceptional. The Korean fried chicken, krunchy kale, king crab fried rice stone pot and roasted cauliflower are a must.

Superb Asian fare

By Priya M |

A totally unassuming outside hides this amazing foodie spot Food is separated in to various categories The vegetarian section of the menu is quite impressive Ended up with the Japanese sweet potato with white miso and black sugar, green papaya salad with cashews in a bed of chili oil, grilled shishito peppers on skewers with a ponzu dipping sauce and the roasted and grilled cauliflower on a bed of shishito and goat cheese vinaigrette .. I was super impressed with the food, clean presentation and most of all.. the clean exquisite tastes .. Generous portion sizes for the money being spent is always a great thing Wood fired grill that plants 5 trees that for every one that is used as part of cooking !! Super happy to have visited and experienced this awesome place

Yummy

Loved this place and now been several times and always packed and great looking people! The interior is uber cool and decor awesome! Food is phenomenal and you MUST have the short ribs!!

Amazing

Can’t wait to try the risotto again! The drinks where quite fantastic as well over all the whole experience was beyond my expectations.

Almost perfect!

By Arnaud21 |

Great food, great waiter, nice place. Really enjoyed lunch today. My only recommendation is that is kind of tacky to tell guests that they have 2 hours to eat since your table is reserved afterwards. Really unnecessary. Make a disclaimer in the website. This is not a cheap Chinese restaurante that aims at high turnover of tables to rush you out for profit.

Such a treat!

By Cailin W |

I am so happy my husband discovered this incredible restaurant on his trip to Miami earlier this year. What an amazing experience, the food was exceptional! I love how food comes out as each dis is ready and is prepared separately by each chef, the chef brings it to you and serves you themselves. They tell you about their dish and you can see the extra attention to detail and incredible flavours. The food is fusion Asian style food and all four of us loved every dish.

Superb

Friendly waiter, and good quality of food. It is truly a feat place to have dinner with your family. You won’t be disappointed

Definitely an experience. Beautiful setting with especially the bar and open kitchen as an eye-catcher. Good service from all staff. We went for the Kyu experience, a walk through the map. There were high-flyers with it (the cauliflower!) and a number of dishes that were less popular. In my opinion, the same spicy flavours were reflected too often in the dishes. The portions were excessively large. Often having to give back more than half. We are both good eaters but really could not follow because it was so much food and came together so quickly. I understand by American standards that the service has to go fast but for a European who wants to have a long and cozy dinner that took away from our experience. I would go back but that no longer do the Experience but just order à la carte, then you can order yourself when you want and thus better determine the portions and time between dishes.

KYU Wynwood is reopened! WOW Asian BBQ!!

By byMT305 |

The incredibly popular and delicious KYU in Wynwood Miami, FL (had Closed due to fire damage in November 2022) is now REOPENED! It’s definitely got-things-going with: great (& loud) Wynwood vibe/ambiance, efficient service as dishes are prepared, great full bar, and mainly DELICIOUS FOOD!! We enjoyed: Drinks - house Margarita, and local La Rubia beer - both paired great with KYU food Roasted cauliflower - delicious! Crispy rice cakes with tuna tartare - MUST TRY DELICIOUS here!! House pastrami w/ bao buns - fatty, but tasty Duck burnt ends - a tasty BBQ sliced duck breast BBQ Asian Short rib - SUCCULENT DELICIOUS!! Coconut layer cake w/ ice cream - KYU CLASSIC!! Most dishes have peppery heat (but not at all mouth on fire). The very popular Wynwood area probably has more than 100 restaurants and eateries. KYU is no doubt one of the VERY VERY BEST!! Reservations are a must (any night of the week here). You won’t find a meal like this elsewhere. KYU is MUST TRY when visiting Miami.

Spectacular

The food was amazing anything you order is great. The drinks a pretty pricy. The restaurant is full for lunch we made advance reservations.

The place in Wynwood

By Keith C |

“BBQ w/ an Asian twist” I’m not sure that captures what KYU is all about. But look, the food is great, the atmosphere relaxed and informal (family style), and the service attentive. Great fried chicken and ribs, but plenty of delicious veg dishes as well. Highly recommended.

The waiting is horrible!!!

By Marion R |

The waiting is horrible!!! The worst host I have ever met, she left us waiting for 1 hour and the restaurant was empty. The manager was nice but gave us the worst table of the restaurant with water falling from the roof. The waitress was super nice and the food was awsome

They ruined my birthday

By Niki N |

So..let me preface this with the fact that this restaurant has been my favorite restaurant on earth for the past year. I chose to have my birthday dinner here. I booked our reservation two months ago. For a party of 8. The morning of the reservation we called and let them know it would only be 5 persons bc 3 of our friends could not join us due to a missed flight for snow in the north. The hostess said sure but we would have to wait till 615pm. We got to the restaurant at 615pm and had a very nice dinner. The food and service were great until we got to dessert. We are serious foodies and like to take our time. We are all industry. Granted we dined for 3 hours but our bill for 6 people was $600.00 dollars. As soon as our dessert was dropped, Carlos the chef came to our table and said our table expired and we had to leave. We were baffled at this comment as we had just spent a lot of money, made a reservation and thought we could continue our dinner at our pace. We were celebrating of course. Carlos argued with us to the point where we felt kicked out. Honestly, he ruined my birthday. Not only that, but now he has robbed me of enjoying my favorite restaurant forever. How can you be so clueless on how you should be taking care of your guests? It feels like he stole my day, my joy and my entire birthday. What horrible hospitality. Sadly, we will NEVER be back. What a shame.

A Great Find

By Mschin49 |

Check out Kyu if looking for a great, trendy lunch spot. (Must be terrific for dinner, too) Asian infused entrees were fresh, healthy and full of flavor. Attentive, enthusiastic wait staff without being intrusive.A lively spot on a side street in Wynwood, hope you enjoy as much as we did.

Wow! Great vibe!

By Urbanfarmgrl |

We ordered a bunch of stuff to share and everything was fantastic. The cauliflower and fried rice in particular was amazing. They accommodated our Vegan guest so we could assemble at the table. Excellent!

Highly recommended

Food is different but in a good way. Japanese sweet potato is divine along with the Korean chicken. Service is also very good. Great location as well. Great place for a family dinner

Hit and Miss

By Antionio10 |

It was hit of miss at Kyu. The red snapper with herb leaves was delicious. It was a simple dish, but cooked perfectly. Not so for their signature fried chicken dish. Dry. You can do better at a fast food restaurant. The cauliflower with a avocado and tahini sauce was was very good. The kale salad was fine, crunchy deep fried onions on top. Food comes our when it is ready which meant that the entre came our just two minutes after the salad. The timing could have been better planned. It seemed like someone forgot about the chickens since it came out about 15 minutes after the fish. The chicken is fried twice a stack of it sits in the open kitchen. The service is good except this is a restaurant that likes to turn as many tables as possible. We were warned of a time limit on out table when we gave our name for a reservation. I was perfectly fine with that but when we left the restaurant was literarily 2/3 empty by count of the seats. Why feel rushed when the restaurant is empty? it seemed that the attendants were following the rules set by management, but no one was managing the flow. Valet parking is $20.

Delicious food, hip and trendy

By Isabelle B |

Apart from multi-generational families, we were among the oldest folks there. The service follows a team model so there is always someone around to pour water, set down and clear plates. We were there on Monday, 12/30 in the afternoon and just walked in. The place was packed so we left our name/cell and wandered Wynwood Walls for half an hour. The cocktails were inventive and delicious (Hickory Chicory Dock was outstanding), the whole cauliflower is a must-do and featured on their website. Another favorite is the coconut cake; we took most of it home and enjoyed it on New Year's Eve. Would heartily recommend.

KYU - a unique Asian BBQ classic restaurant in Wynwood (Miami, FL)

By byMT305 |

Located in the crowded, popular Wynwood neighborhood of Miami, FL, KYU is fully rebuilt and operational (following being destroyed in a fire a few years ago) - - KYU originally in Wynwood was/is such a hit, that it currently has KYU restaurants in Miami(Wynwood), NYC, Las Vegas, and Mexico. The pan-Asian-flavored foods (mainly meats) are unique & delicious! We enjoyed: Black Manhattan cocktails - chilled & tasty! Tuna Crispy Rice cakes with tuna tartare - MUST TRY mouthwatering delicious!! Pork gyoza dumplings - very good Miso Snapper - delicious Beef Brisket - smoked Asian BBQ flavors - possibly my VERY FAVORITE MEAT here at KYU Japanese Sweet Potato - MUST TRY DELICIOUS (especially if you’ve never tried)!! Coconut Cake - scrumptious dessert! KYU Wynwood is fun, very popular (reservations are a must), and offers delicious foods not commonly found at other restaurants. It’s a wonderful MUST TRY when in Miami.

Flop! What happened to this place RIP KYU, you should’ve never reopened

By wasrco |

We were in wynwood tonight, got hungry walked in Kyu. Art Basel weekend. Been here before and it was great! total FLOP ! ASS! Filet mignon overcooked, tasted microwaved, $19! Japanese sweet potato was bathing in butter, the hamachi crudo swimming in milk, shisito peppers tasteless, the duck was the only decent plate. Bathroom was unkept, service was not good but it was better than the food, music was also blasting. RIP KYU , your rebirth from the fire was not a good one! Where are the matches

Again and again...

By WanderingJay2014 |

I try to go to Kyu at least once a month. It is my favorite restaurant in my favorite Miami district (Wynwood). Go hungry and try the chef's choice menu option... it has never disappointed.

Wow, wow

By Joeluba |

Started with Pork Belly, excellent. Then the bone marrow, very good but too much chimichurri on top, ask for it on th side. It over takes the great flavor of the marrow. The rice bowl with king crab is a must. The tenderloins wow, medium rare for sure. Then the snapper with that brown butter amazing. Overall superb meal.

Excellent Tasting Menu and Pairings

By DaytripperVA |

We enjoyed our first experience at KYU. Craig provided great recommendations and service as did all the staff with whom we interacted. The timing of courses in the tasting menu did seem a bit rushed--would have liked more time to enjoy each course before the next arrived. Portions were also a little large for two--Craig told us the tasting menu is actually sized for four persons, although this is not mentioned on the menu. (The upside is we enjoyed several parts of the menu as leftovers--so had two full dinners from the tasting menu.) Ambience marked down only due to the noise level from all the hard surfaces of the space.

*Chef's Kiss* - mouth watering!

By Gill |

This was by far my favorite meal of a 7 day trip in Miami. Every dish was delish and beautifully presented and it's in the perfect center spot to explore the rest of Wynwood. Loved the pork belly bao buns and the spare ribs the most, as well as the tuna tataki. Would come back here again to try everything on the menu.

Very bad experience: waiter said "This is not a restaurant for you"

By Gabriela Hemmerde |

Terrible place! If you want to have a conversation with your companion just be prepared to shout as this place is extremely noisy since the acoustic is very bad. Do not sit close to the bar (kitchen area) as the cookers shouts every time they receive and order, I found it extremely disturbing. When I mentioned this to the waiter he simply responded "Cleary, this is not the restaurant for you", everybody at the table were dumfounded with his answer which we found very disrespectful. Service is slow, be prepared to wait about 45 minutes for your food. Food in not family style as described, serving sizes are small, so you ended ordering a bunch of things and spending more than you think. Decoration is nice and warm, this is the only positive thing I noticed. This place is just another "wanna be" trendy place at Wynwood, not worth the money and time.

Amazing flavors!!! Great service!!!

By MaryHague |

Amazing food, wonderful flavors, loved the ribs, the pork and the cauliflower. And great service too!!! Loved everything about this place.

Love it!

By jbutters |

Came here with colleagues after visiting the Wynwood Walls. Great ambiance, lots of nice old school hip hop and R&b being played when we went. Very lively spot - definitely make reservations. Food was great and some very inspired drinks - ahem (“It’s 4:20 Somewhere” served with faux joint). We ordered the Korean Fried Chicken, Beef short ribs but the winners were the Roasted cauliflower and the Japanese sweet potatoes. None of us could stop eating them!

Excellent chef’s tasting and cocktails

By Cody C |

This was our second visit to Kyu and it did not disappoint on return. We skipped lunch to do the tasting menu and were glad we did, even though we were still very full by the end. We’ll definitely be back on our next Miami trip. The cocktails are nicely done and pair well with the food. But the food is the main attraction. We did the chef’s tasting and were happy with how it came out - everything is excellent and we got some items we probably wouldn’t have ordered. They aim to give you a taste of every part of the kitchen, so you’ll get a couple of starters, some raw bar items, some veggies (the cauliflower, kale chips and bok choy are excellent!) and a few mains (the crispy fried rice with egg and crab was excellent, and the Wagyu brisket with sauces, pickled veggies and lettuce for wraps was perfectly done). Dessert was a delicious piece of coconut cake. Bring your appetite if you do the tasting. I think it’s probably more approachable for 4 people than 2 - everything is family style and they didn’t adjust the portions for 2.

Spectacular!

The food, the ambiance, the service...all spectacular! Do not miss the cauliflower! We had an amazing time!

Best Restaurant in Miami

By Andy |

We eat here every time we are in town. We started with the burrata with yuzu marmalade and "Zak the Baker" toast. While not the best item on the menu, it is very good and shows the awesome range of this restaurant. My favorite dish is the crispy pork belly steamed buns. They are fantastic. The pork is nice and crispy, and the buns perfectly soft and mellow. My daughter swears by the roasted cauliflower. It is the showpiece of the restaurant and is delicious. Many places make a “crispy rice” ala Nobu. KYU’s version, the crispy tuna tartare with smoked chili, is a very worthy contender. The tuna is smooth and cold, and the contrast with the warm crispy rice is just right. The best part is, we’re just getting started. For entrees, we had the wagyu beef brisket with black shichimi pepper. With three choices of dipping sauce, and crispy salty pickles, this will satisfy any meat lover. Finally, we finished with the Thai fried rice stone pot with fried egg and king crab. They mix this at the table. The rice gets nice and crispy. This dish is a feast for the eyes, nose and mouth. We love this restaurant and will be back soon.

FOR THE GOGOS

By jacar13 |

APART FROM THE BEAUTIFUL OVERPRICED DECOR PINK WINE BY THE SMALL GLASS 16 OR 19 DOLLARS A FEW THOUSAND NOT MUCH ON THE PLATE AND VERY EXPENSIVE ONE OF THE DISHES ORDERS ARRIVES WHEN THE OTHER GUESTS HAVE FINISHED THEIR DISH. ON THE WAY OUT WE WENT TO EAT A GOOD HEARTY DESSERT IN THE BAKERY YANN ROOFER

Too expensive not worth the price

By yaronk462 |

Nothing special, food is average nothing more. Food is definitely not worth the price. Nice interior, and friendly team.

Best restaurant in Miami

By PetiteOrt |

Love love love everything on their menu. Everything is designed to share. Every dish is immaculately prepared, consistent and a flavour sensation. My fave dishes Avocado salad, rice Hotpot with duck. The smores cake is to die for. You cant go wrong with anything on the menu

Great Dinner

By allison4118 |

Excellent! We were able to snag a late reservation and now I know why it was so booked. We sat outside - which was awesome - pretty loud inside - the food is so good!

Get rid of management

By Shawn F |

I’ve been to this restaurant many times Over the years and it’s been superb. However, tonight is was a horrible experience. Our server was very good but the kitchen could not get their act together and it took almost 2 hours to get some of our food so we asked for the bill and left. Our server who made both the assistant mgr and the mgr aware of what was going on and they didn’t even come to our table to apologize. We also noticed that we were not the only ppl not getting their food. The owners of this restaurant need to get rid of the current management otherwise this restaurant is going to go down hill and very soon.

Chef experience is where it's at!

By Stasha E |

What an amazing experience! We live in Broward, took brightline to check out this place. Well worth it! Chef experience is a ten course meal that is pure perfection. We sat at the bar Shawn was our bartender that led the way to a wonderful night. All of the dishes were great. I highly recommend it because you get to try so many things and take home the leftovers. Thank you Kyu!

Fantastic food and service. Cool vibe and fun bar.

By Mike K |

Fantastic service and excellent food with a cool vibe. Very unique foods all with an Asian flair. Flavor combinations were varied and all went well together. The wait staff was very knowledgeable and gladly helped out with menu selections on both food and drinks. We would have loved to try everything on the menu! Crispy kale and the hot pot were standouts, but truly, every dish we had was outstanding. We went on a very busy Friday night, but despite that, food and drinks came out without delay and we felt that we were treated as if we were the only customers in the place. Kim, the manager, came out personally a couple times to check on our experience to top off the outstanding service we received. Can’t wait to come back to Miami to go to this wonderful establishment again.

Great food but terrible attitude by staff and manager

By Jason H |

Returning to Kyu as a special treat. The food was excellent as usual but the service and attitude of the manager was shocking. I typically would not write such a review but when things started to go wrong with order and while we waited 40 minutes for a drink and our mains arrived before appetisers the manager and server said what to you expect it’s Valentine’s Day. Then I was told “you can write what you like on social media, we are not afraid of that as we can sell our tables three times over”. That attitude and the cost of drinks which is eye watering means we won’t be back and all those I have previously recommended this place too will hear of what happened. A shame as the food is great but service and attitude made me feel that the manager just didn’t give a dam. After we left we walked over the road and went to Barcelona for drinks and can highly recommend the drinks service and location

Great Location

By KeyWestMZ |

We were so anxious to try Kyu but left a little disappointed. The drinks are great. I ordered the duck burnt ends but although very tender, not “burnt ends”. The cauliflower was ok. The fried rice was also just ok. Not the experience we expected.

Excellent food, valet and great service!

By Travel X |

This restaurant was quite a nice surprise…valet parking…food was excellent…try the Korean Chicken and Fried Kale…service was also on point!

Unbelievably good! Must try!

By Rkwok68 |

Booked Kyu on OpenTable. Sunday early evening dinner. Decided to go with the “Kyu Experience”, which is a 10-course tasting menu with the fan favorites consisting of 9 courses and 1 dessert course. Of course, we started with 2 craft cocktails: Pollinator (gin based, with lemon and honey) They Sea Me Roe-Lin (a real treat, I won’t spoil the ingredients for you-try it) Burrata - the burnt taste in the bread perfectly complements the room-temperature burrata and the yuzu marmalade. The mint leaf is the proverbial cherry on top. Pork and Shitake Gyoza - outside is crispy - skin maybe a bit thick and the pork seasoned just a little on the salty side for my tastes, but nevertheless very tasty. Crispy spicy hamachi tartare with wasabi mayo - their take on a traditional sushi - fish with carb. Very tasty. Spicy soft shell crab bun - the sweetness and softness of a Chinese bao is perfectly complemented by the salty, crispy crab; add a hint of spicy mayo...it’s delicious! Roasted cauliflower- goat cheese, Shia Hiro, herb vinaigrette. The cauliflower, roasted whole, retains its juices and isn’t dry. Mixed with the cheese and herb vinaigrette, it’s like a healthy Mac and cheese. Korean stone rice with pork sausage - a pretty good rendition of traditional Korean stone fried rice...and with a fried egg - mmmm Korean Fried chicken with buffalo hot sauce. Perfectly fried chicken. Juicy and tender on the inside. A must have. Served on a bed of spinach to slightly offset the guilt. Bok choy- fresh, seared and served with spices, toasted garlic. Fresh lemon juice brings out the flavors. Brisket - served with lettuce wraps, three dipping sauces, salt, black pepper, - good but probably the least creative of all the dishes we had tonight. Dessert - coconut cake with coconut ice cream and coconut sprinkles - very sweet - but I loved it. Im not a huge coconut fan and still loved it. Paying Miami prices but well worth it here. Would come again.(and bring friends!)

“Overpriced and Unexpected Valet Fees”

By Priscilla C |

The food here is good, but the price makes it difficult to justify. We came in for a simple lunch, just two people, with no alcohol or dessert, and the bill ended up at almost $200, which is way too high for what we received. Additionally, there was an unexpected valet charge: besides the $25 fee, there was also a 20% tip and a $3 service fee added, bringing the valet total to $33. This felt excessive and should have been made clear upfront. Overall, while the food was decent, the high costs and surprise charges mean we won’t be returning. Definitely not worth it for what it offers.

Noisy

By Thaiza R |

The place is OK, but too noisy. You leave the place smelling food, because there is a lot of fried food. The food is good, but nothing really special like I read on the comments before. I left the place smelling food so bad. I usually dont make bad comments, but I was so excited about this place, but no one never said anything about the smell and the noise. Maybe I will try again just to make sure that this happened only that day....

Corrigendum!!!

By Agnès |

After writing a very bad opinion, we must make a correction. The third course was served for the third person more than half an hour after the others.... Faced with our disappointment, the management offered us the whole meal. And that, we must admit, is really class. Hats off...

Excellent food and atmosphere

By Andrew F |

Had dinner here with a friend. ROASTED CAULIFLOWER and The DUCK BREAST "BURNT ENDS", were delicious. Local beers and a full.

Unique, delicious!

By 5schades |

Two friends and I had dinner at Kyu during our 50th birthday weekend. We took the waiter's advice and ordered by his recommendations. Everything was amazing! Such tasty, interesting dishes! I'd like to try to recreate several at home! And the Wynwood Mule was lovely.

WORST VALET SERVICE - DO NOT GO THERE

By David |

Came out and valet left with my keys leaving me careless. Restaurant says it's a third party and cannot do anything. Had to Uber home

Great dinning option!

By Frank G |

I have been to KYU before they closed about 2 years ago for remodeling and now after the reopening, and nothing has changed with them. Curated menu, on point quality and top notch service which is the perfect recipe for a good experience. In this occasion, I started with their roasted cauliflower; the beef tartare, pork gyoza and a hamachi crudo. The cauliflower and the hamachi were my favorite out of the 4 starters. The cauliflower was perfectly roasted and the goat cheese bed was the perfect pairing, I kept coming back for more. The hamachi was fresh as it could be, in a nice acidity sauce. This is the kind of dish you don’t feel guilty while eating in terms of calorie count, and want to eat as munch as you want or your wallet allows :) The pork gyoza was delicious too, I loved the smoky flavors coming from the pork. Really well done. The beef tartare was great, my only recommendation is to grind the meat a bit more, I think the pieces were on the thick side. Also, I would serve it with some sort of crispy bread on the side; that would make a 5 out 5 beef tartare. For the entrée I had their short ribs with the sweet potatoes. The ribs are big enough for 2 people and I would say up to 3 if you are ordering other dishes as we did. It’s perfectly cooked with a nice charred coat. The sauces they serve it with, perfectly complement the meat, well done. The sweet potatoes balance out the ribs. They were sweet and buttery. I would eat them by themselves at any time. So good! Lastly, the dessert is the kind of dessert I like, where the levels of sugar are on the low side. The coconut flavors from the cake and the ice cream as well as the toasted coconut flakes, it was so yummy. Love it! All in all, this was the perfect dinner. I can’t wait for my next time, I want to try their duck breast.

Great work lunch

By Yulian M |

One of the best places to eat in miami . You will find the most special food in miami . Roasted coliflor , crab buns , Korean Chiken and tai rice . And of course the coconut cake !!! Congrats !!!

Okeyish food, nice service

By Rem K |

Cool location! Loved the Nhood. Atmosphere crowded, noizy, buzzin Food: okeysh. Service: no négative surprises... value: average. They did make us wait even for our siting time - no cocktails no water offered, teens were not impeessed.

Extremely disappointed

By Mikek |

Kyu was off it’s game tonight. The bar service and drinks were great, the table server and staff were great, but the kitchen was a mess. It was 40% seating capacity and an over capacity kitchen staff, but the kitchen was so slow and disorganized that you were waiting longer than 90 minutes for simple prepared dishes. Then you ask where the management team was, because they never came by the tables to talk with their guests or even apologize or explain the long delays in food delivery. It was obviously uncomfortable for the wait staff since they were offering explanations for the delays. Replacement of the management should seriously be considered since they obviously can’t manage a major part of their house. Offering a complimentary desert does not compensate for the experience we were expecting. We cancelled the rest of our dinner, paid our bill, tipped our server well and left very disappointed.

Overpriced, slow service, not good

By HonestB4o |

Tofu buns - the tofu was gelatinous and not firm at all. The 60 dollar beef brisket was extremely overcooked and not even that tender. The only good item was the crispy tuna bites. The service was painfully slow and the wait staff was all over the place in their confusion. Would not return.

Great location, good food parking can be a challenge

By Andrew W |

Nice location, good food and a pleasant atmosphere. A little on the expensive side at over 100 per head without drinks. Great for an informal dinner with a group of friends.

KYU NYC: A Must-Visit Culinary Adventure of Smoky Asian Flavors

By MenuPassport |

If you're looking for a culinary adventure, Kyu NYC is the place to be! I finally checked it out, and wow—it did not disappoint. Originally from Miami's Wynwood district, their wood-smoked and wood-grilled Asian dishes are an absolute flavor explosion. Every bite felt like something new and exciting. The blend of exotic ingredients and smoky techniques made the entire meal unforgettable. Now I get why it's James Beard-nominated and a Time Magazine winner! If you're a foodie like me, this spot is a must-visit in the heart of NYC.

Average for vegetarians

By Shreyansh182 |

I get it that this is supposed to be a rather expensive place to eat. But a small pork dish (50 grams) is not nearly as satiating as 50 grams of mushrooms. I would have eaten 4 dishes, but ate only 2 since they were expensive. Food, however little, was good though. Light lunch for two: $95

Good food, TERRIBLE SERVICE

By Jason G |

The snapper was wonderful and the food was good overall. The service was really, really bad. The waitress had no idea what tea had caffeine, we ordered a cappuccino which was a drip coffee and simply bitter and unpleasant. We changed our drink from bottled water to tea. The waitress brought both. Before she served the water; we let her know that we had cancelled it. She said that because she already opened it, she had to charge us for it. We asked her to remove it from the bill, and the manager Kim refused the request. Our bill was $170 and they wouldn’t remove a $10 water charge for something we cancelled? We won’t eat here again. The service is just that bad and unhelpful.

The best

By Ana Paulina X |

The best restaurant in Mexico… excellent food and excellent service. The cayo de hacha and the sweet potato my favorites

Awesome vibe, menu and food.

By abigram88 |

This is a must visit in Wynwood for trip to Miami. Loved the vibe and food. Didn’t get to try the fried chicken and famous coconut cake but we loved the Roasted Cauliflower, Soft Shell Crab with steamed buns and the Thai Fried Rice Stone Pot! Highly recommend this spot for a memorable dining experience.

Had great expectations, but the experience was nearly the worse possible

By Camilapineiro |

Kyu was highly recommended to me by a good friend, so i went with my husband expecting a night of great food and ambiance. The place itself is nice, the food is a solid 7 (the cauliflower and the desert are the best of the menu). Now for the bad part. We were sitting at the bar, and we had ordered some food, when the hostess came to us and offered us a table, which we accepted. We closed our tab at the bar, paid a USD 86,00 bill and left ten dolars at the counter. Ate the end of the night when our check came, we were charged again for the things from the bar. When we called the manager and explained that there were a mistake, he said that he would look at the cameras to see if we had actually paid. Things got a lot awkard as we waited about 20 minutes for them to see if we were saying the truth. He came back and told us that from the angle of the camera it wasnt possible to tell if we had paid, and that if we did pay the full tab the bar tenders were happy to pay for us. Yes. That happened. I explained that i did not need anyone to pay for my food, i just didn’t want to pay for it twice (am I wrong?). At the end of the night we left the bar, paid only for what had at the table, but from the tone of the waiter it was as if we were leaving without paying. Horrible situation. Wont come back.

Every Dish Excelled

By Dodger29 |

Five of us dined, two had previously visited and spoke highly of the food. The decor barely hid the neo warehouse decor, there was nothing to deaden the sound and it echoed off the high (no drop) ceiling. Every table was occupied every minute. The crowd was young and barely out of tee shirts. But oh, the promise of that menu and boy did it deliver. The appetizers especially the sushi on crispy rice cakes were delightful, I want more, now two hours later. The brisket and short ribs came on large bones and were tender and smoked. The portions were generous. Magical! This was some of the tastiest food I have had in Miami. The service was superb and the drinks full and pungent. I cannot wait to return.

Great place for any kind of eaters

By anat4om |

Great place for meat eaters, pescatarians and everyone else. Amazing food, great service and drinks. Everything was great but especially the crab buns and the rice.

CINNAMON BUN IS WHAT DREAMS ARE MADE OF!!!!!!!

By Journey61077508300 |

Guys RUN TO KYU SERIOUSLY!!! KYU DO NOT DISCONTINUE THE CINNAMON BUN PLEASEEEEEEEE!!!!! Ok I confess to being a regular KYU goer whenever I visit Miami, i insist on regular dinners here and always make it our first and last night in town visit. Everything is delightful and insane here, they’re made a couple of improvements and the new Fillet mignon just falls apart like butter with so much flavour! The Japanese potato is a family favourite and we have to order two of them! The cauliflower also sooooo good! As for the newest dessert a Cinnamon bun with FROSTED CHAI ICING holy mother of cow it’s insaneeeeee it needs to stay…. Ps Bring back the Milk Matcha too…. I have all the leftovers upstairs and about to eat them for lunch 😆 They’ve promised me a KYU is coming to London but I’m still waiting eagerly! Perhaps I’ll move to Miami for them!!

One of the BEST meals I've ever had!

By Estebon |

The atmosphere at KYU is casual. Its always busy here and you can wait weeks to get a table on the week nights. I went on a Sunday night and it was packed! We had one of the larger tables for 6 right across from the open kitchen. We were able to see all of the food come out and each dish looked crazy good. We had the califlower app, which I usually woundnt get. Dont miss the Califlower and the squid app as well. I dont think there was anything that wasnt awesome. The food was so good I went up to the Chef and told him "if I had to choose between sex and your food, I would go for the food" - thats how good it was. The fried chicken, fried rice and everything else was out of this world. I would go back to Miami just to go to this restaurant. Very cool bar around the corner - Vodoo Bar?

Great but overpriced

By Wei2Yue |

I came here for lunch while exploring the Wynwood area and had two small dishes and a pint. Both plates were well seasoned and flavourful and the beer wasn't bad either. However, I was surprised by the price of $80. Overall, I'd say it is a nice spot and definitely worth a visit, but be prepared to pay a premium price for what I'd consider a mid-range restaurant.

Great Place

By Kris |

I was there for lunch and dinner as well, eveytime is a great surprise. Food was great and service as well, definitely a good spot between friends

Reserve in advance and get the cauliflower

By PhyllisFP |

It's not often where you have a meal where every dish is excellent and Kyu delivered. The roasted cauliflower is their signature dish and even my cauliflower-detesting husband ate half a head (dishes are for sharing). The Korean Fried Chicken is the best. Whole Roaster Maitake Mushroom and the Duck Breast "Burnt Ends" rounded out our meal and we didn't finish everything in order to save room for Mom's Kyu Coconut Cake--worth it even if you don't like coconut. Service was friendly and our guy even recognized us the next morning when we saw him opening up. I made the reservation several weeks in advance.

Favorite in MIA

By AFoodieDMV |

My review is late as my last visit was just before COVID hit (3/7/20) but want to share my LOVE and ADORATION for KYU and hope to return soon! I have dined here a few times and it's less crowded at lunch but absolutely make a reservation because there is always a wait at dinner. I prefer the bar as the bartenders are always engaging, entertaining and adorable. We joked on our last visit that a beard must be required as every server and bartender has one. Service is always excellent - whether seated at a table or at the bar. Too many favorites to name but you definitely have to sample something from every section. I'd pass on the kale snack (has been too greasy every time) and opt for the kale Caesar which is fantastic. The cauliflower, crispy tuna tartare, and pork belly buns are a must. Hands down - the Korean fried chicken and the short ribs with their many accoutrements are my fav. I haven't had a chance to delve into desserts because as you can see - I eat WAY TOO many apps/entrees to get there. Cocktails are phenomenal, as well - can't go wrong with any of them. My fav is the Pink puppy - similar to a lychee martini. Ambience and decor match the vibe perfectly. Have not had a bad meal (or time) at KYU, yet. Still my favorite - just wish it was closer to South Beach and parking wasn't such a challenge. Have not been for brunch so that will be next!

On our short list of must hits every time visiting Miami

By Brad M |

Found this place the year it opened. Returned with our adult kids and all were blown away with the entire experience: the space, vibe, service, menu, food and beverages. Love the wood fired, smoked, asian influenced meat, poultry, rice and vegetable delicacies. On our short list of must hits every time visiting Miami.

BEST food in Miami

By fatizim |

KYU is our favorite restaurant in Miami! I hesitated writing this review because I literally thought “KYU doesn’t need a review! They are that good!!!” But here we go…as usual, everytime we come, the standard and quality of food remains high. Shout out to our server Eddie who was AWESOME, and everyone else who was so gracious in making our meal enjoyable! We had the consistently DELICIOUS baby back ribs, mussels, burrata, octopus and drinks galore!

Overpriced, underwhelming flavors !

By palmbeach2017 |

Don’t even bother. They try to be a trendy restaurant with great food but the reality is it’s just overpriced mediocre food and the restaurant itself is too loud to even talk normally in. The cut of meat I got was Soooo fatty that I could only eat half of it Skip !

Great food horrible music and 120 db sound

By Jawsurgeon |

Terrific food but horrible noise and impossibly bad music selection; service was great food perfectly executed and seasoned but honestly they need to fire the music consultant who obviously has no idea how to pair music with atmosphere. Incredibly loud restaurant maybe that is by design but so so annoying a acoustic consultant would pay off handsomely

Incredible

By Foodie |

Where to start... the food at KYU is incomparable. The quality of the food is out of this world with flavours and creativity to match. Favourites have to be the cauliflower, gyoza and soft shell crab buns. In addition, the staff and service in this restaurant are exceptional. Definitely a must in Miami. Will recommend a million times!

Beautiful restaurant and excellent food!

By PIOLA59 |

I was there with my family in October, it was a great surprise, good food, we tried different dishes, everything was good, the staff was polite, the location too.I we’ll get again.

Funkalicious Fusion

By MitchytheKid |

The food here is tremendous. Very cool neighborhood and hip. Restaurant smells great and the food amazing. One of our best Miami meals. We went very late and there was no letdown on food quality. Solid service. Would return without question.

Book and enjoy. Excellent food and vibe.

By Eimear M |

Newly reopened we managed to get a booking in March. The vibe is very cool. The tables are a bit squashed in. Every inch counts but it’s a shame they didn’t prioritise a bit of space between tables or even areas. Makes it feel a bit canteen. When we arrived our table wasn’t ready but we managed to find seats at the bar. I imagine if we didn’t our experience wouldn’t have been as good as it was busy and there’s nowhere else to really be. The bar is a beautiful sight and the staff are welcoming. We had cocktails and a good look at the food people were eating at the bar. We ate king crab stone pot rice, wagyu tartare, hamachi crispy rice and it was all delicious. We drank the Sancerre but the wine list is varied and extensive. Enjoy!

Thanks to Manuel

By sanmerle |

The food is always sensational, but I do want to compliment Manuel, who answers the phone in reservations, he is an exceptional member of what makes your team so exceptional. People who go out of their way to help get an impossible reservation, and recognize your name as a regular are a valuable member of a wonderful team, thank you Manuel for always being so nice on the phone.

Very good

By Mike M |

Food and service were excellent. Sat outside, to take advantage of the 65ish degree weather. All the dishes were very good, but I held back 1 star as it was a bit pricey compared to some other excellent places we have eaten at. Definitely recommend though if in the area!

Spetacular

By Paula F |

I went today for the dinner and the experience was sptecular. The food is so good, the place and the service! I will back soon

Very tasty! A must visit if you can get a reservation

By joparke |

The food is very tasty, the various flavors burst in your mouth! Crowded and difficult to get a reservation (they don’t answer emails). So if you get a reservation make sure and go! The cocktails are amazing. The hostess on Tues 24th needs a customer service refresher training but everyone else was fabulous!

Amazing experience, great service & food

By Jordy |

We ate here on a family + friends trip with a 3 year old and an infant. I’d say this is not a family type restaurant but we wanted to have one nice night out and no sitters. So we made a 4pm reservation weeks in advance for 8 people. Our server was beyond accommodating! I was so grateful that he made us feel comfortable and wanted to make sure our experience was good (and still respectful of others around us too). The food was AMAZING and atmosphere is upscale. The cocktails were delicious too.

Amazing!

By Marie-Josée M |

The food was amazing! The drinks too! The califlower is a must! You can combine a walk in Windwood and spend a wonderful night!!!

Highly recommended

By Ryan C |

Kyu was highly recommended by multiple friends from around the globe and it did not disappoint. The menu is packed with delicious dishes to choose from . In the end we opted for the tasting menu for a very reasonable $65 each . The tasting menu was a brilliant idea and allowed me to try dishes I would not of thought of ordering , especially the crispy rice and Hamachi. Only down side was the dessert menu lacked any creativity, 2 cakes or fruits and sorbets , kind of pit a downer on an otherwise perfect evening. Cocktails were very well crafted and service was genuinely friendly and knowledgeable. I would definitely go again but would rather be seated outside as the acoustics of the restaurant are pretty loud , but that sometimes adds to the ambiance of a busy service .

Disregard for Allergies and Terrible Service

By Karolina |

We never post reviews but what happened last night is unacceptable! We told the waiter very loud and clear twice that there is a sever fish and seafood allergy at the table. We ordered food, which was advised safe. When the food arrived to The table I asked to confirm the food was safe to eat, it turns out that it wasn’t as it was fried in the same frier as fish and seafood. We asked the waiter to take it back and we ordered something else that was said to be safe. Again the food arrived, we double checked and the same problem. Not even an apology from a waiter. The manager comes over and has a bloody nerve to ask how severe is the allergy!!!! We informed her as we informed the waiter at the very beginning that it is hospital severe! We then asked to tell us what was safe to order and the attitude she demonstrated was extremely rude and it certainly felt like we were inconveniencing her! The reality was we were just trying to make sure that we had a safe meal and no one ended up in a hospital. The luck of care, the luck of following health and safety protocols is absolutely shocking in a place like that. We eat in restaurants all over Miami all the time, we never had experience like that. People if you want to be treated with respect and dignity and if worse you do have food allergy please do yourself a favor and find a different place. To top it off the food was very average and way overpriced, definitely not worth it for us even if we didn’t have this terrible experience. Just wanted to share in hopes that if someone has severe allergies they’d better stay away for their own safety.

Superb food near Wynwood Walls

By Eleanor S |

One of the best meals in Miami, a fusion oriental restaurant near the Wynwood Walls...After filling our eyes with beautiful art, we delighted our stomachs with spectacular food at KYU, a gem, a real find! The food si amazing, great taste and beautifully plated, service was attentive and professional. Loved the roasted cauliflower, the grilled shishito peppers, the hamachi with coconut milk vinaigrette and the amazing Thai fried rice, a misnomer, actually is is steamed rice, with sausage and a af fried egg on top, all mixed by hand at your table, very similar to kamameshi , a favorite Japanese rice dish

Great food

By Sebastian B |

Atmosphere is nice and unique, there is interesting selection of food of japanese/bbq flavors. Would recommend.

Yummie food

By Maria J |

We ate here so good!! All dishes were amazing! Especially the brisket is finger licking good togheter with the fried chicken. The restaurant is always crowded and noisy so you have to deal with that. The service is not too bad but not great either.

Had a great lunch!

By Yossi Dray |

Place is great. Top class. Tastes were very good and service was great. If you're in wynwood and in a mood for a very good lunch/dinner that is the place.

Chicky restaurant

By Neri L |

A very nice and Chicky restaurant in the Wynwood walls area. Always full. Very good food, drinks and service.

KYU is over hyped

By gee a |

1. how they bring out the food?? we ate their famous chicken. okay. The rice came out last our orders did not come out at the same time the waitress warned us about it. The rice ended up being nothing more than a Rossotto. Waitress was nice. I am still trying to wonder what all the hype is about. The ambience was okay. We had most of the choice's folks recommended and I was like okay nothing special. Bottom line it is over hyped. Over priced maybe they are trying to attract a certain clientele but even if i was living large this would not be one of my go to restaurants, The Branzino fish what happened to the rest of it??? I had a burger at another location La tropiccana and that was absolutely wonderful All in all some of these high end restaurants are over hyped and the food is ehhhh!!! KYU is over rated. sit at the bar get the pork belly appetizer the chicken and be done with it.

Delicious and frendly

By mkg2805 |

We had a terrific lunch here today. We didn’t have a reservation, but the nice hostess fit us in and we loved every bites. Standouts were the cauliflower and baby ribs, but the kale, shishito peppers, crispy kale, and creamed spinach were also excellent, we saw many things pass by for other diners that looked wonderful too. Wish we were going to be here longer so we could return! Highly recommend, slightly noisy and tables very close together are the only downers.

Super cool and super fab!

By Enzo Fagioli |

Kyu is one of those predictable restaurants you go to where you arrive take one look at the super cool decor, cool bar, cool staff and cool people and think this is going to be an expensive disappointment. All style and no substance. In a word. Wrong. It’s fantastic. Super exciting mouth tingling tasty and thigh slappingly fab. Probably my favourite new restaurant of 2019. So let’s put it out there. Korean fried chicken. Brilliant. Fried rice with king crab. Sweet, filling and delicious. Roasted cauliflower and green papaya salad so balanced and fresh. The beef short ribs are the king of the castle. Never tasted anything as succulent and flavourful. A total must. Try the coconut cake. A great ending. This place is just fantastic. I have to particularly mention the staff. They are brilliantly attentive, knowledgeable, and engaging. Totally loved it and restored my faith in cool. Brand 7/10 food 9/10 service 10/10

If I could give more than 5 stars...

By Alessia90canni |

LOVE IT! First time visit to Miami, I made sure to book like 3 weeks in advance. Ambiance is great , cocktails were lovely and food was just amazing. We had octopus, pork buns, bone marrow, beef tartare, Korean fried chicken, ribs, carrots, coconut cake... feast for the eyes and for the mouth. Soooo good!! If we are ever back in Miami we will be back FO SHO!

Amazing - ethical and outstanding

By smilgaki |

Amazing place - I so hope this restaurant survives the pandemic. Couldn't get a dinner reservation so dined here late afternoon on standby. So glad we did. It's a large open restaurant cum bar with industrial style interiors. The menu is modern Asian fusion, specializing in Japanese grilling techniques. There are lots of small plates and vegetable-based options. If you are a group of meat eaters then the short rib looked amazing. I had the Korean fried chicken - apparently- the best in Miami. I can't vouch for it being the best but it was very good. The roasted cauliflower, which comes with a charity donation, was amazing. BBQ carrots were delicious, too. My Pink Puppy cocktail was tasty. Service was impeccable. Oh, and and at this sustainability-focused restaurant you can even make a $5 donation to a tree-planting charity. Great food, great service and it's ethical. I so hope this place makes a comeback once Covid-19 has calmed down.

outdoor sitting is nice , with no music

By Marie L |

Food was excellent and different , service was very nice , we were very happy about the outdoor sitting which offers a quiet ( less noises than inside ) environment .

Kyu is awesome!

By Always On The Go |

Had a lovely, lovely dinner at Kyu. Amazing ambience and outstanding vibe in Wynwood. Chef Rahim came to the table to personally check on us, but there were no complaints, just praise to the fantastic food! Highly recommend the Short Rib and Wok Rice.

We absolutely LOVED all the food

By T D |

Wow—what an unforgettable meal! KYU Miami absolutely blew us away. From the very first bite to the last, every dish was a masterpiece of bold flavors and textures. We couldn't stop talking about the incredible cauliflower—perfectly roasted and bursting with flavor—and the crispy kale was addictive (we’re still dreaming about it). The bao was soft, pillowy perfection, and the steak? Next-level. Juicy, flavorful, and cooked to absolute perfection. Every dish somehow managed to top the one before it, which is saying something because each one started out amazing. The variety, the creativity, and the quality were off the charts. It was the kind of meal you don’t want to end—and we’re already planning our return. A must-visit for any food lover!

Wow, delicious

By Helen |

Absolutely delicious. Our waitress was really helpful in navigating the menu. Very unique flavors. We ordered the soft shell crab and Shisito peppers for appetizers, both of which were great. We ordered the roasted cauliflower to share, and that was my personal favorite dish of the whole night. I ordered the snapper with brown butter and white miso and WOW perfectly cooked. Delicious spicy cocktails as well. Would highly recommend.

Make your reservations!!

By Juliana N |

The restaurant was packed! We had a reservation but arrived a little earlier to spend some time at the bar. Absolutely no space. When we got our table, the service was good and so was the food. The food is very well seasoned.

You will need to go more than once

By Jocabed D |

I went to the newly reopened KYU for my birthday. Every plate that I tried left me wanting more. I gotta say that you will need to go more than once to delect every plate on the menu. I was so full I could not continue eating. My brain wanted more, but my stomach could not take it!! I can't wait until the next time I go to KYU. The Mimmos Burrata was ex-qui-si-te. I think the must try is the Korean Fried Kitchen. Nevertheless, I think that I will need VARIOUS visits to try every single item on the menu.

Wynward vibe with Kyu

By learning t |

Couldn't wait to visits this spot which was referred to us by a friend. We loved the whole vibe of Wynward and this spot was a great treat. We tried a bit of most things and have nothing bad to say.

A must while in Wynwood!

By Tamara C |

The restaurant is beautiful. I stumbled upon it while checking out the mural walls. Excellent service. Food amazing and do was my cocktail. I am solo so I always sit at the bar while traveling. Had the Wynwood mule. Excellent! Had the Thai Rice Stone pot with king crab for lunch. Amazing and I’m a plain kinda girl.

i went today for lunch , the place is amzinggggg the location as well and the food was soooo good i really liked the place and the people ❤️❤️

Consistently delicious

By garkilleen |

Consistently delicious every time we visit, with enthusiastic and friendly wait staff. We went with our 4 year old, and our waiter was especially nice with her.

KYUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

By Ted D |

This spot is definingly a place I would take someone who enjoys good food too! PRO TIP: Make a reservation! While you wait for your table if not ready they usher you to the bar where you can grab a drink. Note-- depending on how busy the restaurant is, you may be seated family style, but that still doesn't take away from the food. We started with of course the grilled octopus, followed by the cauliflower, beef tartare, and tuna sticky rice. Two words "NO COMPLAINTS!" The cauliflower is such a unique twist and made me want to eat more veggies. The grilled octopus was tender, flavorful, and not chewy, the sticky rice stuck to the roof of your mouth with flavor, and the beef tartare was TARTARINGGG. This place is pleasant in ambiance, taste, and creativity.

wonderful

By Gomez22 |

We stopped for lunch, before seeing the Wynwood Walls. We sat at the bar and had the tasting menu... thats quite a bit of food for lunch, but everything was delicious! We were so glad we tried it - you get some many different tastes. Great service and fun drinks also.

Wonderful experience!!

By PathfinderLili |

Wonderful experience!! Will miss the food, definitely. The pork was great, ribs just perfect (!!), even the cauliflower had a great sauce. The drinks were different and nice to taste. A bit expensive, but worth it. Would came back.

Tasting menu takes advantage of diners who trust the Chefs

By James K |

KYU is the epitome of the Miami scam-the-tourist attitude cloaked in the veneer of a neighborhood spot. I had been excited to try the recently remodeled KYU for months. We put our trust in the chefs and tried the chef’s tasting experience only to find it was simply a full retail package of the highest margin items on the menu for what seemed to be a to-the-penny summation of full menu prices with nary an amuse bouche, flourish, off menu item, or extra of any kind. Instead of rewarding a diner’s good faith with something special or even having a protein focus given KYU’s supposed cheeky take on Korean bbq, KYU’s chefs served up crispy kale at 16$, dry broccoli for the same, cauliflower with with bland sauce, dry fried chicken at many multiples of Joe’s staple, low quality tuna crispy rice, and basic fried rice. The only good dish of the first 7 courses was the short rib, which was excellent. Asking for a manager resulted in the supposedly newly hired beverage director who couldn’t care less, could not point out any factual inaccuracy in the detailing of their high margin full retail bundling in the name of a tasting menu. He made no offer to help in anyway or even ask if there was another course we may have wanted to try. Instead he just walked away snarkily trolled us saying he looks forward to seeing us back soon. Like KYUs disgusting bathrooms that didn’t appear to be cleaned all night, he, and KYU as a whole are full of it. Skip it and go next door to the wonderful Sparrow, or go to Michelin starred Cote that despite the star and pricier rent of the design district, has a tasting menu for 50$ less per person that is actually delicious (the butcher’s feast).

Esplendid!

By pedromolina1960 |

Don’t miss this restaurant, will never forget the experience, try different appetizers, share, have fun, you will enjoy very much, excellent food, good ambience, nice people Try it!!

Disturbing behavior in the kitchen

By Eatoutnightly305 |

The hype surrounding this place was the only reason we even walked in the door. The food was a lot of bad and some ok. Nearly everything was under seasoned. The cauliflower was overpowered by the cheese that accompanies the dish. Not a good combo. The tenderloin was a muddled plate of too many uncooperative ingredients. The cooks could be seen not taking their jobs very serious behind the line and it showed in their food. And when I asked about one cooks alarming behavior in particular, I was told he was the Sous chef. I wish anyone visiting this establishment the best of luck. You’ll need it

What a great night. Exceeded our expectations

By AllanG61 |

What a great night. We’ve been to the Vegas location, for the best dinner experience we ever had. Happy to say the Winwood location was just as amazing The ambiance and vibe are perfect Strongly suggest the tasting menu…for $125 you cant beat the variety, quality and portion size. So much food!!! The short ribs are to die for !! Everything else was fantastic Cant wait to come back Great place Great staff. Thanks to Kim the manager Easy parking A must try place

Food is delicious. Must get

By Elle467 |

Food is delicious. Must get the rice, pork belly buns, bok Choy, the fried chicken. I would recommend mixing fried chicken w the fried rice, omg amazing.

Great experience!

By Carlos C |

Went to Kyu for lunch. Preferably you will need to make a reservation. Very good service and food was spectacular! I definitely suggest to try different dishes on the menu, like the duck, the cauliflower and the short rib.

Memorable

By ESFFlorida |

Pronounced “que” like in bar-b-que I’m told by our very pleasant waiter. All was very good and this was a memorable dinner. Food is served family style and plates are small tapas style. Four of us shared mussels, very good, fried rice prepared with an egg at the table, fried Korean chicken that was crispy on the outside and moist inside, 3 pieces, and outrageously delicious baby back ribs. For dessert we had the fruit and s’mores that we shared. This restaurant was very busy for a Sunday evening and the noise level is loud. Dishes are brought to the table as they become ready from the kitchen. Will definitely return and continue to recommend. Prices are not cheap, but it was worth it. Valet parking available for $10.

Please bring this restaurant to Toronto!

By LMGToronto |

On the recommendation of a friend, our family of 3 had the pleasure of having a late dinner at Kyu. Located in the Wynwood area, this restaurant felt fun and interesting from the moment we arrived. The delicious food matched the atmosphere. We love the shared plates format and LOVED everything we ordered. So many interesting items on the menu, it was hard to choose what to order. The delicious desserts were a sweet, tasty ending to a wonderful evening. The service was terrific as well. LOVE LOVE LOVE this place.

Second visit to this fabulous restaurant

By grumpy1 |

Second visit to this fabulous quirky restaurant to die for dishes and great service not the best location but definable worth a visit

Nice option in Wynwood

By jgdc |

We ate out on the front patio and had brisket, the branzino, and the mushrooms. I thought the brisket and mushrooms were delicious but the branzino- for the price- was really really small. They need to either remove from menu or provide a larger piece. The drink list didn’t really entice me. The tables outside need to be cleaned a bit better, but I appreciate having it as an option.

Great food ok service

By Martin Solano |

I've been coming to this restaurant for a while from brunch to dinner. I've tried several things on the menu most of it absolutely delicious. But my last visit was on 10/20/19. Like I mentioned in the title great food ok service. I ordered 2 appetizers 2 main dishes and a fried rice. One appetizer was a hot plate and one was a cold plate. We get the hot one first then one main dish I had to then cancel my cold appetizer that was no where in site then we get the fried rice and were half way through the rice when i had to flag a bus boy to check on our second main dish cause the waiter was no where to be found. And when we get the second dish that the bus boy got for us that's when our waiter shows up to ask how our food has been. So I mentioned what happened and all he could say was that the kitchen was busy and that he is sorry. Thank god the food is good cause this is not the first time this has happened but this time was the worst. I'll give one more shot after that I'm done.

Very cool

By Michele Z |

Nice atmosphere, very tasty food, reasonable price, very cool decoration! Worth the visit impeccable care

Korean BBQ with flair

By David I |

Had a group of 6 and tried multiple appetizers and entrees, had a lot of fun and every dish was interesting. Califlower head was unique and the orange marmalade with the burata made were our favorite appetizers. The pork sausage with rice was good and the beef short ribs melted in your mouth. A bit pricey but worth it.

Fun night out!

By TuccJA88 |

My husband and I dined here after a friend recommended it- we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! Definitely make an reservation in advance. The atmosphere is very vibrant and lively. Service was awesome - very friendly and we appreciated that the server helped guide us with menu choices. Everything we ate was delicious: We shared the octopus, pork belly buns, red snapper (which was so, so tasty!), wagu brisket (which we highly recommend!), mushroom side dish and a Japanese sweet potato!!! Everything was prepared perfectly, nice size portions and plate presentation was impressive. Fun cocktail menu and tasty drink choices too. We definitely recommend dining here for a fun night out.

Awesome!

By Nadja |

We've been visiting Kyu during Miami Spice and oh my, where do I start? The first really positive thing is that they tell you about and encourage you to order from the Miami Spice menu. That's not the case in all the participating restaurants. Staff are super friendly, the food is creative and so so good! So good that we came back a second time within just a week. The only small negative is the room temperature, the A/C is too cold for my liking. But that might be because I'm not a Miami local... all in all 10/10. Wish I'd live in the neighbourhood!

A true feast!

By Thomas077 |

Deservedly recognised as one of the best in Miami. The location in Wynwood is very interesting and you can have a look at the murals before or after the meal. The place is lively and (predictably) loud, but this energetic atmosphere fits it well. Since this was our first visit, we decided the Kyu experience menu would be the best introduction. In terms of food, it surely did not disappoint. The burrata with yuzu, the roasted, cauliflower the brisket, the baked rice – all were simply delicious and there can be no doubt that the chef is extremely talented. My only reservation may seem strange: the amount of food was simply insane. I am by no means a skinny model (quite the reverse in fact) and I like eating, but the food we got for 2 could easily be shared between 4 persons. At a price of 75 $ per person I would argue you get more food than at McDonald’s for the same amount of money (I am of course referring to the quantity; quality is on a different planet). We saw many people taking home what they could not eat, but as tourists staying at a hotel this was sadly not an option for us (we only had the dessert coconut cake – a huge piece - packed to go). Next time I would also probably not choose the beverage pairing, but simply order a good bottle of wine.

Get your Uber and go there NOW!!!

By Journey61077508300 |

Oh my goodness!!! Kyu is a firm favourite, so fun to try lots of dishes that are as equally as delicious as the next one! If you want flavour and adventure with a seriously cool vibe then go! We are visiting again soon before we leave Miami and extra hopeful for a london based KYU soon!!

Amazing culinary experience

By M Bailey |

This family style dining experience was full of great options and flavors. I recommend the snapper. The fish was amazing and the sides were delicious. Seating fills up fast so make reservations in advance if going on a busy weekend. Will be back again.

Great restaurant in Wynwood Walls area of Miami

By denbev |

Great Asian fusion restaurant with awesome service. We shared the fried chicken, red snapper, fried rice and cauliflower Only complaint is the too loud music.

No professional place - unless u have two or three hours to wait for dishes.

By EyeDocBrazil |

Complete no professional service. They brought a dish at every 15 minutes. We were not able to eat together, as each one got his dish very apart from the other people on the group. Complete waste of time .

Third time in 14 months. Redunculous.

By Andrew M |

Normally I come here with 5 phat guys (two are chefs) for my FFL league (1st 3 times, 2nd 2 times over last 15 years). But I digress. Just get here. We were out with some international friends and they were complaining their daughter had posted a text review (text is for losers, trip adviser has nice people). But I digress, they were so sadenned that they told us about it. I was like, "what!". Kyu is my favorite restaurant on the planet. They have received The May Emblem of Food Excellence numerous times. Ok, enough about me. Here's what you get for $75. 13 courses including the best beef brisket on the planet, great service, crab, tuna, and 9 more courses. Don't think. Call Uber. Just get here. Double May Emblem Award Winner.

Great venue for dinner

Kyu is fab!

By IMLISAJ |

My husband and I heard about Kyu from friends and stopped by for lunch as we were in the neighbourhood earlier this week. Fun warehouse-like atmosphere, great imaginative food and good service. Small plates were great to sample the Asian infused variety of dishes. Our favorites were the steamed branzino, the roasted cauliflower and the coconut cake for dessert. Definitely worth another visit when we are back in Miami.

The food is super delicious!

By RACHA H |

The food is super delicious! I highly recommend trying everything! The beef tenderloin is my favorite and dark chocolate s’mores for desert .

Awful service and mediocre food

By Alexandra Q |

Do not waste your time or money. Food, including famous fried chicken and rice pot were less than ok. In addition, rice showed up 20 minutes after our main dishes and only because we asked. Server was incredibly rude and manager just told us “too bad” Terrible attitudes and made the whole experience unpleasant. Could not wait to get out of there! This place was special a few years ago—but no longer! Overpriced and awful service.

Delicious food

There was a bit of a wait despite having a reservation, but the food was worth ever drop. Absolutely must try that brisket! Our group of 7 had an amazing time at this restaurant! I'm super grateful for the attentiveness of our server, Fiona. She went above and beyond for my food allergies, coordinating with the kitchen and making sure I had good food to eat. I'm allergic to gluten, dairy, and alliums, and she helped me navigate the menu with ease.

Kyu was great. We had reservations

By Alamills |

Kyu was great. We had reservations All the dishes we had were first rate: the crispy pork buns (or something like that), the bone marrow, the tiger prawns, and a couple more that I don’t remember the names. The dessert - chocolate something - was also fantastic. Our server was also very good - friendly, helpful ... really helped make it a great experience. The ambiance is good. Even in a full restaurant, you feel comfortable and private. So overall the value/price relation is more than worth it. It’s gotta be one of the better restaurants in Miami.

Locals beware

By Skyler305 |

Used to be our favorite restaurant! We decided to stop in for some beverages and yummy dishes, except the bartender completely wrecked the experience for us. Typical cocky full of him self attitude, it wasn't necessary. Out of everything we asked for, they didn't seem to have. I'm not interested in being upsold an extra chicken wing and would have loved more of a variety. Or someone far less aggressive. Locals beware the restaurant has completely lost it's touch and felt more of a south beach tourist trap

Excellent for Dinner ! Loved

Excellent for Dinner ! Loved it Very cool lay out Great food So tasty I had the red snapper with Japanese sweet potato and it was delicious. Service was slow but the food made up for it Recommended !!

Spectacular food!!!!

One of the best places to eat in Miami. Food is always out of this world, service is excellent and great ambiance.

Destination for Foodies

By Richard C |

ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL! Finally get around to writing this review! KYU serves spectacular food with a wonderful ambiance that gives a modern, yet casual look to it. I love the twists and combinations of the various foods, especially the Korean Fried Chicken! So succulent and juicy with every bite! The Roasted Cauliflower, one of their signature items, is a definite must! I can't wait to come back to try more items on their menu! Cocktails are perfectly made! Service is great and knowledgeable on their menu items. If you are a foodie looking to have a great dining experience, check out KYU!

One of my Favorites

By Catarina M |

Kyu is actually one of my favorite restaurants in Miami. The service is great, the atmosphere very nice and good always with high quality. It’s a little bit pricey but worth it!

Fun spot, great service, innovative good food.

By susannTheGo |

The restaurant deserves the hype. The servers were amazingly helpful. Even though it was busy, they went out of their way to meet your needs. The food was very innovative and delicious. You have to have the cauliflower as everyone says, although we found the coconut cake to be good but nothing special. The rest of the dinner was excellent.

Everything... PERFECT!!

By Tricia H |

Finally got around to going to Kyu!! And it was well worth the wait. Not a bad meal here. Generous portions to share. Service is impeccable. Cauliflower, baked potato, snapper, ribs, thai fried rice, the drinks.... DELICIOUS.. I cant go back there fast enough. Kyu came highly recommended and I definitely see why. One of the best dining experiences I have had in a looong time!

Overpriced copycat food…

By MrDalvin |

Made our reservation via OpenTable app. Showed up to the restaurant & they seated us in the worst place possible by the front door which is amazingly disrespectful. I really should asked for a better table or just gone somewhere else. The food…me and wife have eaten in amazing restaurants all over the world and whilst KYU is ok it’s not great either. Crispy rice with tuna for starter was nice but have had better elsewhere, the gyoza the same. Dishes you’ve seen done better elsewhere pretty much.

hot and exciting place, very cool and in

By Chris A |

Just a unique everything, dinner, food, staff, spices, menu, drinks, chairs, the whole set up somehow turns a restaurant upside down and adds in the good stuff from a family home dinner party feel into a cool space they have created. warm and alive, yet feeling very personal. Value, again I think it was very expensive, so can't score it high on value, most expensive meal in Miami so far on this trip. It adds up fast at KYU.

Totally delivers

By cbdentst |

We were wowed by the menu but worried the tge actual food wouldn't deliver on the promise. Not only did it, but the food exceeded all expectations. We scored an outdoor table on a perfect Saturday night. Great people watching, music. Please try to save room for dessert. Coconut cake sublime. Super service. Friendly casual efficient. Can't wait to return. The challenge will be forcing ourselves to order all different plates.

Excellent spot!

Went here for my birthday and had THE BEST time. The staff, food and drinks are incredible. Will definitely be back. The cauliflower, tuna crispy rice and lava cake are a don’t miss. Guys, best of luck with your New York opening!

Get your Kyu here!

By JimT_210 |

Visiting Miami and went to Kyu for dinner on concierge’s recommendation. No reservation but party of 4 seated quickly by friendly hostess. Great service from Edgar and the kitchen staff bringing out the food one or two items at a time as soon as it was ready! And best of all, fantastic tasting food. Everything we tried on the menu tasted great - unique and innovative flavors and textures. We tried and can recommend the fried rice, pork belly buns, the crab buns, the Japanese sweet potato, pork and mushroom gyoza, baby back ribs, bok choy, and beef tenderloin. Comfortable ambience, great service, great food! Don’t leave Miami without your Kyu!

My Favorite

Kyu is my favorite restaurant in Wynwood. Anyone who loves Asian Fusion food would enjoy Kyu. The soft shell crab bun is to die for!

FABULOUS - would rate a six out of five if we could!

By mjt1012 |

By far our best meal during our Miami trip. Wide array of options, accommodating kitchen for dietary restrictions, service simply top notch. From the ceviche to the Korean fried chicken, everything we ordered was outstanding. We cannot recommend this place high enough.

Best Restaurant in Wynwood

By PCWorldTraveler |

By far, our best meal in Wynwood, if not all of Miami. It’s a great place for a large group of friends and the service outstanding. All the dishes are unique and have ingredient combinations we haven’t tried before. The presentation of the food is superb also. The atmosphere is cool and sexy and makes for a fun night out.

Second time here. Still amazing

By anat4om |

A month later and we came back for lunch. We ordered the crab buns again, the carrots, snapper, tuna tartar, mushrooms and s’mores for dessert. Food is very tasty and full of flavor. This place is always packed.

Run away!!! Unless you like to be mistaken for c...

Absolutely unacceptable service from the kitchen. Two people served, dishes finished for 15 minutes, and the third still not served... and nothing moves... everything is fine!!!! For the price, already very expensive, it is simply and purely unacceptable. Run away, they really take customers for c...

Food was great

By Mermaid La Loquita |

Really enjoyed my visit there. Thanks to the very nice happy hours menu we could try various dishes and all of them were great. My favorites: roasted cauliflower and also dark chocolate smores cake that we ordered separately.

The duck!

By mcorozco129 |

The food was great! We ordered the duck and it was absolutely amazing. Totally recommend it. The waiter was very kind and helpful.

Cauliflower??? You bet!

By Daniela H |

We first went around a year ago because a friend recommended this place! So glad we did!!! Their menu is not very extensive but very original. We had the roasted cauliflower to start and, I have to say it’s not only the best cauliflower I’ve ever had, but also one of my favorite dishes now. Don’t miss it. We also loved the rice stone pot, the ambiance, the wine list, another dish we had (I don’t remember what it was). It was our second time here, and I’m sure we’ll come back many more. Also, I’m gluten intolerant, and KYU had many options for me.

Excellent excellent excellent - definitely make a reservation though, it was packed on a Wednesday at 8 pm!

By Beee_Travels |

My Mom and I came here on the advice of a few friends and we can't say enough positive things about our experience at Kyu Miami. Phenomenal service from our server. Perfect cocktails. The Pink Puppy was especially tasty and the presentation of the drinks was lovely without being over the top. Everything we ordered was cooked expertly and we loved the offerings on the menu. We ordered (and loved) the tuna tataki, the whole roasted cauliflower (in the most addictive sauce, you have to get this!), whole roasted maitake mushroom (good but wouldn't necessarily order it again so we can try something else) and the tenderloin with fire roasted kimchi (excellent). We were talked into the coconut cake for dessert and we were not disappointed. The coconut cake is heavily blogged about for a reason - some of the best cake we've ever had! We will certainly be back on our next trip to Miami.

Great experience!!

located in the center of Wynwood, with plenty of parking and places to walk around. good ambience, simple and modern decor. well balanced menu options for all. All dishes ordered were very good and well presented. Outdoor and indoor dinning available. Service great. good bathrooms.

Worth it! Delicious!

Worth it! From the great atmosphere to our fabulous server Giuliana, this restaurant is a must for a delicious meal! Don’t forget the amazing creative cocktails and the Dark Chocolate S’mores Cake for dessert. Oh, the Beef Short Ribs are a must! We will return soon!!
