We booked Lyra for a group of four in Chicago for business. The reviews seemed reasonable and consistent. Upon arrival we were greeted well and politely. The restaurant has a fantastic atmosphere but perhaps too crowded for some. Tables are relatively closely packed and you feel somewhat overheard however the food is fantastic. The wagyu souvlaki was a real highlight. Cocktails are also well thought out and the traditional old fashioned was one of the best experienced in Chicago.

I have never in my entire life had a restaurant be this rude to me. My mom, sister and I are on vacation in Chicago and our hotel (The peninsula) made reservations and confirmed. When we got there at 8pm- were told there were no reservations. The hotel called and they went back and forth with each other to no avail. I was in tears because it was my mother's bday and we were supposed to be celebrating. The host and hostess were both BEYOND rude and condescending to us- rolling their eyes and repeatedly saying they were "fully committed and take our problem to the hotel". Finally they told us to wait at the bar for 45 min and will find a table. An hour later I went back to the front desk to be told "you just need to leave, we are just seating the 8pm tables now". So we left. There are so many good restaurants in Chicago- and this is definitely new and trendy- but no attitude is worth this. It was truly out of a bad movie. We've never been treated like this in LA where we live or NYC where we visit consistently. If I were the owners and knew how the front treated guests I'd be livid.

First time walking i to the restaurant my eyes drew me to the Beautiful ambiance. Incredible lighting and greenery hanging from ceiling. The service was outstanding, always felt taken care of! Lots of food options, we decided to order a variety of bread, apps, main courses to share. Everything we had was excellent! Will for sure be back!

Lyra is a wonderful Greek restaurant in the Fulton Market area. We had the grilled octopus, the cast iron moussaka and the Greek lemon chicken. All were delicious! Our server Nicole H was excellent and very attentive! We highly recommend this place.

We were staying at Nobu and popped in here just for drinks a couple of times at the bar. Really nice place and good vibe. Lovely corner location with open doors all the way round. We are keen to try food there next time.

Ambiance was laughable for a Greek place. Lyra just uses the Greek/Mediterranean style and Greek words in random places for the sake of it. No one in the restaurant spoke Greek or even attempted to embrace the culture. I said "thank you" in Greek to several people and they looked at me like I was, well, speaking Greek. Food was good but significantly overpriced (expect to pay ~$125pp). You're much better off going to RPM or any other staple steakhouse to get much more value for your money. Host staff was incredibly rude by directly asking us to leave the table not even 30 seconds after we paid - even when one of our party was in the bathroom. "We hope you enjoyed, but you need to leave now" was the exact quote. To top it off, another host came up and told us the exact same thing one minute later (before our party member had even returned from the bathroom). Mind you, this is after our waiter emphasized the "experience" of dining. The only experience they're after is overcharging and disrespecting their patrons. Do not give Lyra your business.

We have been trying to visit this restaurant for a while, and we were very happy. Great ambiance, with good music and lighting. The food was great, drinks were great. Limited wine list, but with some good wines. Good service all around.

Lyra is an absolute gem - stunning food in an amazing location. The cocktails were to die for also and service was prompt and friendly. We went for lunch and it was buzzing, so I can only imagine what the ambience is like in the evening.

So I have to admit I have been here four times since the opening. Each time I have visited, I've been treated well. The food is yummy! Not too sure how someone has anything bad to say about their experience here.

This cutting-edge restaurant has Greek food like you've never tasted, delicious. But almost all the entrees are over $40, what we New Jersey residents call "New York Prices." There are similarly interesting places nearby at about half the price. Noisy, even on the patio. It is, after all, a hot spot.

We went with a large group. They sat us in a raised area, which was still in the action of the rest of the restaurant (loud), so not great for a group dinner. The food was pre-ordered and came out in batches of 3 or 4, depending on the dish, served family style. We had bread and dips, which were good, then humus with beets (very good), and mains that consisted of roasted chicken and lobster with pasta (not particularly Greek). The servers were attentive and the food was plentiful.

Experience was great despite the restaurant being full. We got a table quickly despite arriving a little late due to traffic. Our server Alex was great, very helpful with the menu and kept checking back with us throughout the meal. Food... was EXCELLENT. Had the grilled octopus to start then the fish and ended with the chocolate cake. Portion size was larger than you would expect. Price was not as high as expected. We would for sure come back.

This was our last meal in Chicago and it was a fun change of pace! The food was great, we tried things we’d never had before. Wine and service were good as well. Atmosphere is loud, so be prepared!

This place thinks they are on trend and are quite delusional. Walked in starving and ordered half the menu. The bouncer with his braided beard was unwelcoming. The manager was nicer. We were seated on the patio under the speakers. They blasted mediocre music at absolute top volume so that the entire city of Chicago could hear it. I asked the waiter if they might turn it down a bit since it was impossible to converse with my family. Nope, can’t do it he said. He seemed to hate the music too but had no say. He will end up with hearing loss for a minimum wage job. Sad. The food was mediocre too. I’ve actually had Greek food in Greece and this does not come close. Too greasy and spiced wrong. Very expensive for what you are getting. So if you want to pay too much for greasy food and have your eardrums explode this place is for you. For anyone looking for a good dining experience run for the hills.

The service was phenomenal, the presentation was authentic to the service, the taste was amazing, the environment was delicious ! Yep!

Great option for tasty Greek food. We had a business dinner in a private room and the menu and service were excellent! Good quality and professional service. Well done!

Very average food. Supermarket pita. Average service. Very overpriced. Go somewhere else. Place is beautiful though

Amazing mediterranean food with outstanding service. Environment was very nice as well. Would absolutely come back and recommend.

Just visited Lyra, and I can’t recommend it enough! The food was fantastic—perfectly seasoned, authentic Greek flavors that felt both elevated and comforting. I started with the mushrooms and the hummus served with warm, fresh pita, which was a great opener. The Greek salad was fresh and bright, with each bite taking me right to the Mediterranean. Cocktails were fun and well-crafted, complementing the meal beautifully, and the desserts were the perfect sweet finish. The highlight, though, was the lamb—absolutely succulent and bursting with flavor. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the service was attentive without being intrusive. Overall, a wonderful experience from start to finish.

Great food, environment, and staff! Not a quiet sit down dinner- very fun and lively! Reminds me of being in Greece on a summer night.

The food was delicious and plentiful. Service was okay, we were eating leisurely and catching up so it worked fine for us. Originally we were at a super small table for our group but they moved us to a much better location. Overall, we’d definitely go back.
Good Greek!
Simply delicious Greek food at a top notch establishment in Fulton Market, Chicago. Try the lamb chops and the Mediterranean salad if you have the opportunity.
