During this pandemic, one can only get take-out. It is great to know that the quality of their pizza has stayed the same. It is simply the best pizza you can eat. They put the cheese on first and the sauce last and it works. They sauce is outstanding ! This place is "worth the trip" to get it !

This restaurant was recommended by a colleague who was born and raised in New York. Once we bit into our Sicilian-style square pizza, we understood why this was her favorite pizza place. We all agreed that L & B had delicious pizza! After we devoured the majority of our pizza, we didn't think we had room for dessert, but then we tried some of their homemade spumoni ice cream and we were so glad we did -- another scrumptious item that you must try! The restaurant was packed, but, regardless, everyone was very friendly and our waitperson was great.

Stop in here for pizza every time Im in the Brooklyn, NYC area. This time we took two whole plain pies to go. Best Sicilian pie/ slices around. So good, I even ate leftovers cold for breakfast.

The restaurant has a nice open vibe with in and out seating. Wasn't crazy about the Sicilian pizza but likely purely a personal style preference. You get the spumoni separately at a little outside window and it was really delicious.

I went to L&B Spumoni Gardens late at night after checking out the Dyker Heights Christmas lights. It was freezing out, but we got seated right away in the back patio. The heater back there was blasting honestly so hot it had me sweating, but I'm not complaining. I came for the pizza, plain and simple. I ordered the Hot Sicilian slice and it was great. Thick crust, plenty of sauce, exactly what you expect when you come here. I wanted to try the vodka slice too, but they only do that as a whole pie, and I wasn't in the mood to take down an entire pizza, so I switched it up. I ended up getting the Shrimp Parmigiana hero in vodka sauce and started with the fried calamari. The calamari was really good and crispy, not greasy. The hero was solid, big portion, definitely hits if you want something heavier than pizza. For the kid, we ordered the mac and cheese off the kids menu. I tried it and it was actually really good, but I will say $17 for a huge bowl of mac and cheese for a toddler feels a little steep. We finished the night with a cone of spumoni, and honestly that was the highlight for the family. Everybody loved it; simple, old-school, and exactly how it should be. Overall, it was a great experience. The staff was attentive, polite, and easygoing, which makes a big difference. If you're in South Brooklyn and want to hit a real old-school spot, L&B is worth the stop. Shrimp Parmigiana in Vodka Sauce Hero

Brought a guest who had never been to L&B. Tasted the Square Pizza and immediately said it was absolutely delicious! My wife had a Sausage, Broccoli Rabe and Fusilli dish, which she loves, and I had 5 slices of the Square Pizza! Finished with one of their homemade Ice Cream Creations- Excellent! Always a relaxed, fun and delicious dining experience.

Since i can remember, Spumoni Gardens, or L&Bs was a huge part of my childhood. I remember being a young boy, during those sticky summer nights, before air conditioners were the rage wishing we could cool off with something delicious. Mom and dad would load us into the fire truck red 59 Pontiac and we'd head to Coney Island to watch the fireworks Freon the beach. On our way home, if things were just right, my dad would pull in front of L&B Spumoni Gardens. We knew that the night was going to get better than the fireworks. Now, I consider myself American. I was born on long island and moved to Brooklyn a few weeks shy of three years old, so although not native born, I am a Brooklynite through and through. Although I consider myself American, my family hails from all parts of Italy and Sicily, so to us spumoni(Italian iced cream) was the norm. We thought it was the norm to the rest of the world too. Imagine our shock when we learned that what people considered Spumoni, was in reality American ice cream sliced into thin rectangles of tri colored frozen cream, stick to a paper sheet. If this is what you consider Spumoni, I feel for you. What you've been tricked into thinking was authentic Spumoni was just vanilla, pistachio and chocolate ice cream. Basic stuff. I mean it's ok if you need a frozen fix, but.... But if you want to know what real Spumoni is, head over to Brooklyn, find a parking spot nearby, nearby meaning within a mile, because if you go on a busy night, you'll pull your last hairs out in frustration. You may find a spot in front if St. Anthony smiles upon you. (Remember St. Anthony, although a monk was quite portly. Meaning he most likely loved Spumoni too). If you find a sport in front, don't fall for it. It's a trick. You'll get out, look around, feel pretty good about your luck. You look up and wink to St Anthony. It's a trap. You'll be blocked in by every cuisine and wanna be that Brooklyn and the outlying regions of New York have to offer. They're also looking for that unique Spumoni experience and will think nothing of carving their name on your car door. Well you're there and parked safely. The surrounding area is sketchy. By sketchy I mean extremely dangerous. They do not have valet parking so do not, again DO NOT give your keys to anyone. Ok so you've safely parked and begin your way between the fence posts or parking lot entrance. I didn't mention the parking lot because your chances of getting a spot in there in fifty seven trazillion to zero. So once inside the gate, you'll see a few dozen picnic benches placed about the area. It's not big, but for Brooklyn real estate it's BIG. To me it brings me back to every Brooklyn backyard I visited throughout my youth. The only things missing are the ubiquitous grape vines and peach trees. You know the peaches that Italian grandfathers would proudly display for the world to see. The same peaches he would allow the grandchildren to pick, under his strict supervision. Then cut into wedges and soaked in last seasons home made garage table wine. You know the wine, it's the one that melts the enamel from your teeth. But I digress. As you walk in, directly in front of you is a double window with a team of professional Italian ices and Spumoni dispensers. If it's your first time and you're with someone else, try a few different treats. Not only is their Spumoni the best in America and possibly the whole of Italy, their Italian ices are top notch as well. You will not walk away disappointed if you only have the ices. Just know these are not the same type of ices you'll hey from that frozen water flavored ices that is named after a woman who's name rhymes with Pita. They're good in a pinch. Spumoni comes in several flavors. Chocolate, pistachio and white. Just trust me on the white. It's a vanilla type, but it is extremely unique in flavor. You can order by flavor or like I do. Typical order from me. I'll have a large with white and green. NO CHOCOLATE. Although the chocolate is delicious, why waste your time on that when you can indulge the most amazing white and green Spumoni. Try as you will, but you'll never get their recipe. Some places have come close, but L&B Spumoni Gardens is the best that America has to offer. I've since moved a few miles away from there so when I visit, I'm sure to take several quarts of all three flavores. Yes even chocolate. That's how good it is. They pack it in aluminum lined bags, but professional Spumoni connoisseurs bring coolers with ice packs to ensure they don't melt during the trip home. If you want an authentic experience and a new taste sensation, head to Brooklyn then high tail it to Spumoni Gardens. I've only reviewed their Spumoni, but they have a pretty good restaurant and pizza place. I don't personally lover their pizza but I am in the minority when it comes to that review. People rave for their squares. What we in the know call Sicilians. It's good, I have to admit that, but I like thin round pies. I'll do another review on their pizza and restaurant soon. I just don't want to lose readers due to my long winded posts. Enjoy the best Spumoni this side of the moon and sun. When you've eaten your fill, check out the rest of Brooklyn. It has more to offer than you'd expect.

Tasteless square pie. What has happened to L&B? The sauce was bland, cheese sparce and the base was WAY too thick. Not the pizza of my youth!

We were in Brooklyn for my husband’s work. We had a taste for pizza and checked TripAdvisor for places near our hotel. We ended up at L&B Spumoni Gardens. Everything looked so good!!!!! We started with a slice of the two types of pizza. Each had a tasty crust and was DELICIOUS!!!!Then we tried their mozzarella appetizer that was so different yet really good. That was followed by salad. The portions were very large. Then we ordered fettuccine carbonara- again, very good. To finish we had affogato- soooooo good. So not only was the food outstanding but the wait staff could not be nicer and more attentive. I can’t wait until we return to Brooklyn to go back. There were many other choices on the menu we would like to try.

A good local pizza joint, outdoor seating, and reasonably priced. We got lucky and there wasn't much line, only a few people waiting for a center piece, so I got lucky to get a corner right away. The best thing about this pizza is that it the crust wasn't soggy, and had good flavor... even my wife who normally doesn't eat the crust finished it. Probably due to them putting the sauce over the cheese, so the crust can rise properly. We finished it off with two large spimoni desserts, and they were equally as good. We will probably bring visitors here in the future if they are in the mood for pizza and the day is nice outside. Lots of seating, lines that move quick, and some vehicle parking (and lots of double parking too).

A few native New Yorkers suggested Spumoni Gardens as a must-visit. We had a rather large group but made it just before the dinner rush and were seated right away. The wait staff was attentive and very helpful with suggestions; they even brought samples of the Sicilian Pizza which of course we ordered for the entire table. My favorite was the Chicken Parmesan with my choice of pasta. We all had something different and nothing disappointed, although my husband thought his spaghetti with sausage was just average. Overall, great atmosphere with average pricing (even by NY standards!). Would definitely recommend for those who want to experience a Brooklyn original.

It was a lovely Sunday in the Summer, and we decided to take a trip to Brooklyn. As soon as we got over the Verrazano Bridge, we both felt hunger coming on. My wife looked at me and said the letters, 'L&B'. I immediately jumped on the parkway and went up 86th. Street and was lucky enough to get a parking space on the street. The outside tables were taken, by families and teens and others. It was a full sampling of humanity from young to 'mature'. Each one of them was looking, holding, biting, or chewing a piece of Pizza with a satisfied look on their faces. It was a relatively warm day, so we decided to eat inside the dining room. Luckily, we got the last table. We ordered our usual, Fried Zucchini, thin coated pieces of Zucchini as an appetizer, which are Very Good/Excellent. Can you guess the entree? A Sicilian (Square) Pizza with 12 slices fresh out of the oven. I knocked off 5 slices and my wife had 2. Even though the sauce has become a bit milder, it is still the best Square Pie that I have found-Very Good/Excellent. We took 5 slices home for later. Dessert was the made in house Ice Cream and Spumoni-Very Good/Excellent. By the time we were done, we both felt full and satisfied. A lovely summer afternoon treat!

This place has the best tastiest sicilian ever made.!!! Highly recommend their restaurant is very good also

Best pizza anywhere. The sheet of Sicilian pizza is amazing…sauce on top of the cheese, the way it should be. The rice balls are perfection and the spumoni is quite possibly the best thing you’ll taste in your life. Great neighborhood crowd and the waitstaff obviously enjoy working there. No trip to NY is complete without a trip to L&B. Without a doubt, my #1 NY restaurant. Parking is sometimes tight but with a little patience a spot usually opens up in the small parking area. Easy access from subway lines make it just as easy to take the subway and walk a few blocks. Take the N (yellow line) subway to 86th Street and it’s a 5 minute walk from there. It’s approx. 45 minutes from Herald Square/Midtown area.

Some of the best gluten free pizza on the country! I don’t have enough words to describe how great this tasted. Worth the trip!

When going to Brooklyn we hit this place up everytime and always get their scllian pizza with a few half sheets to go to bring back to Jersey. The sauce and the way the mozzarella melts into the dough makes it a unique with a crispy bottom crust. We finish it off with their Spumoni ice cream. Yea there's good pizza in NJ but nothing compares to L&Bs sicillian. Handsdown the best.

We have been coming here for DECADES! Why you ask. Because in all those years I have not found a more delicious SQUARE PIZZA anywhere. The sauce is BOLD and DELICIOUS in flavor, not wimpy like other places I have tried since childhood. It is baked with pizza dough, layered with mozzarella, and topped off with the boldly flavored sauce-Superb! For dessert, They make their own ice cream, gelato, and ices (YES we did have dessert). The restaurant also has a very good Italian menu. Everything you need is right here. Going back to Brooklyn and L&B soon!!

I have lived in Brooklyn my whole life and finally traveled to this famous eatery for a company holiday party. The food was excellent, their famous "Square" slice is average. But I must say that the service is poor at best. The great food is not enough to overcome the poor quality of service that we received.

I don’t know if it was that L&B try to pump out as many pizzas as possible but we were not impressed by how undercooked and rushed our square pizza was. Don’t get me wrong it’s very good pizza but I wouldn’t drive an hour to get there and have doughy pizza. It could have been better but still pretty good pizza.

We visited over 4th of July weekend and they were busy. That said the service was great and the food even better. We had to try the Square pizza and calamari as we visiting relatives and were told those two item were very tasty. They did not disappoint. The pizza was wasn't heavy and tasted great and the calamari, well just read the reviews for your self. I tried the spumoni for the first time and was pleasantly surprised by its tastiness. We arrived at noon and was surprised to see there was parking and plenty of tables. 20 minutes later the entire restaurant was full as was the patio. We had a great time and will go again on our next trip up. Parking is limited but thats the story in all of New York

Been going here since I was a kid food was always good. The past two times we went we got sick. Their pizza is to die for I would just stick to that

I call Spumoni Garden, the flavor that is Brooklyn. Not only do you get great food, but the locals dining there are part of the charm of the place. Everyone is warm and inviting. Be sure to try the L&B Sicilian Pie. It is like nothing you have ever had before.

We went here visiting family in Bensonhurst Brooklyn. We were told a 30 minute wait but it seemed much shorter. Place was very busy but packed when we left. Very popular and in the summer the outdoor seating area is full of people eating their famous Sicilian Pizza. Our waiter apologized for the delay in getting our food so he brought us samples of their sicilian pizza. Out of this world. Never have had a pizza this good and seeing the constant take outs I can understand. We had a variety of meals and all being excellent. The waiter was smart bringing us a sample of the pizza. We'll be back just like everyone else. Expect the wait. A true Brooklyn landmark being here for 80 years.

A good location if you've been for a day at Coney like we had. Great outdoor seating for a summers evening and the service was so fast, which it needs to be for how busy it is. Square pies are ready as you order. I had high expectations after seeing Spumoni Gardens on many programmes and the pizza was lovely. Good quality cheese and the sauce was superb. Really interesting having the sauce on the bottom and it made the most of the crust. I will definitely return

But if you live near by you know that! I have had this pizza brought home for me by friends, but I have never visited the restaurant. We went last night and it didn't disappoint. Dont expect fancy, bit it is good Italian food at a decent price. Definitely worth the trip.

Haven’t been here since 1987, but why I waited so long till today. That’s another story!!! But after doing some business in South Brooklyn, my sweetheart and I had to stop by for a early brunch here at this long standing, famous pizzeria. We were first on line and waited for a few minutes for them to open at 11:00 am and we ordered two slices and two squares. Both were tasty, crunchy, thin crust, flavorful, and oh so yummy!!! Hitting the spot and So DELISH!!! Plenty of free parking in their lot and that filled up pretty quickly due to plenty of people having pizza for brunch!!! Lots of outdoor seating with umbrellas await you and your pies!!! Didn’t have time to try other hero’s or pasta dishes and their famous Spumoni!!! Next time!!! DELISH!!!🍕🍕🍕

I went to L&B awhile ago after hearing about it for years. I drove from where I was staying in downtown Brooklyn Firstbto Di Fara’s and then here. Even though there’s a lot, the parking at L&B is a problem but it was worth the hassle. I ate two square slices and it was everything I hoped it would be. You have to try it to understand. Any compliments in the reviews and what you see on the TV pizza shows are deserved. I’m thankful I was there before tourist season hit. This place lives up to the hype.

If you’re visiting Brooklyn you cannot miss L and be their square pizza is some of the best in the world. They also have a full restaurant with sitdown service and the best spumoni that you can get anywhere.

Not realky used to the front yard metal chair and fixed shade dining scene but seems it's a thing in Brooklyn. Had a plain Margherita which I must say had the best tomato sauce I've tasted outside of Italy, light bread base just a,little too thick for me but liveky. The Spumoni was also great.

We stopped here for our second stop on the Brooklyn Pizza Tour. The pizza servings were huge, lots of grease on the top of the sicilian pie, and the place was crowded with a line almost out the door. They will give you a taste of their spumoni.

I have been to may pizzeria none compare to L and B pizzeria. The best, I say no more. Try for your self.

I am very particular about my pizza, and when you find a joint that does it right you give them props, this place is literally the best pizza in the 5 boroughs. If you are in Brooklyn drive on over to them, if you are in the city get a ride to them, it is totally worth it. If you know pizza and you have heard of victory pig, then you should know L&B as well. Trust me on this.

Great pizza. The "square slices" are the best. Very different from most other places. Go on a nice warm night to sit outside for a great Brooklyn experience!

GREAT FOOD, quick service, pretty attentive for a busy day. I have been wanting to come here for years. I came with my two boys and we started out with calamari and baked clams which was absolutely delicious. We ordered the Sicilian pizza which was unique because the sauce was on the top and number two I was on the bottom, it was really a great experience And an absolutely delicious meal.

Was in the area taking care of some legal documents and wanted some pizza. Knew of this place and wanted to try. There’s also one in DUMBO, my neighborhood, but having issues opening up. Plus a celebrity sighting inside, where the actor was from The King of Queens!!! I had a chicken Parmesan hero and my wife had meatballs, no pizza as we were on a time constraints. If we’re in the area again will try their pizza, but hoping for it to open here.

Shrimp fradiavlo....plenty of shrimp....over cooked...and not a hint of spicyness.....bland,must of changed chefs

First visit here. We sat at an outside table so we ordered our food and drinks to bring to the table. The square pizza was delicious. We bought two pies so we could bring the rest home. Good dough and tasty sauce. The ice cream is a cross between ice cream and Italian ice, the best of both. We tried the spumoni, pistachio and chocolate. All so good! There is also a inside restaurant with table service. There is a parking lot but space is limited.

L&B is a Traditional Pizzeria to buy some slices and sit and enjoy it in the great outdoors. Yes there is inside seating it you wish. The Slices are great with traditional sauce and also fresh mozz cheese. If any questions about heating it up, ask them to keep it in the oven abit longer. Yes there is parking but can be a challenge and many double park in front. A great treat to take home and warm up.

We wanted to see what all the rave is about L&B Spumoni Gardens since we always see cars double parked outside whenever we drive by even at 100 degree weather on some days. We tried the Sicilian pie since that seems to be a famous one and we love pizza. We took it back home and ate it while it's still hot. Some of the slices were not cut all the way through but that's a minor problem. We all took several bites and asked how it tastes. There was too much dough to cheese/sauce ratio. There was barely any cheese actually and the amount of sauce on top could have been more. Unfortunately, the only good thing we all agreed on was the taste of the sauce. The crust was a little burned and a bit on the dry side compared to other pizzas we've had. We might give this place another try again. Maybe their other food is what customers are really after.

Came with 4 family members who live in Brooklyn. On a Saturday night, the restaurant was jammed and vibrant. Parking was crazy with people randomly double parked just to pick upIt was relatively warm so we were able to easily get a table and sit outside. The pizza was ready in minutes and we all enjoyed it. Frankly, I prefer thin crust but this was novel for me. The ice cream was wonderful. Worth the visit for the vibe!!

We had the driver take us from LaGuardia airport the second that we landed to go get us the best Sicilian pizza you’ll ever eat, very fresh calamari and delicious sauce and very simple and delicious baked clams.

We stopped by for our first spumoni. Didn’t think the staff was overly friendly or helpful but the spumoni was good and not too expensive. Parking is a challenge.

L & B is well known for it's Square Style Pizza over the Typical Round style. Very crowded which shows the popularity of the Gardens. There is picnic style benches outside to sit on besides the tables inside. Also known for it's Spumoni Ice Cream. Worth the visit and try the original style square.

Came here with my sister, her daughter and some out of town visitors so they could try some real Sicilian pizza and spumoni. I think the last time I as here was maybe 40 years ago. We arrived about 1230 on a sunny Sunday, so the place was not yet mobbed. You can eat in their restaurant but the pizza is the main draw, so you line up to be yelled at by the counter guys, and grab your box of pizza (make sure someone else has staked out a table!) and do not expect a wide range of beverages (no ginger ale!). The Sicilian square pizza is what they are famous for and the recipe has not change all these years and it is still the best. Lots of sauce and cheese, maybe a wedge or 2 of burned crust, but it all tastes delicious. Definitely have some of the rainbow spumoni for dessert. I've had better spumoni only in Italy and Argentina, no where else. The 'service' is somewhere between nasty and surly; you might get an occasional nice local kid at the spumoni counter. You're not coming here for that. You're coming for some real ungentrified pizza and spumoni, nothing else. Both are delicious. Enjoy it as you gaze out at the local Russian and Azeri shops and restaurants. So this part of Brooklyn is changing too. So far, Spumoni Gardens is not.

I discovered this restaurant on the Travel Channel and I wanted to try their pizza that renown food critic and host of Delicious Destinations Andrew Zimmern praised highly. Since I live relatively close to New York City, and I have family on Long Island, I thought my family and I should check this place out on the way to see my other family on the island. The atmosphere was great and the service was good. Our waiter was very funny and personable. The main reason and talking point that everyone on here, myself including was the food. We wanted to try their famous Sicilian pizza. I have not had anything like it before. Accompanying the pizza we had anti-pasta and a seafood salad dish which was also delicious. For anyone who has a food allergy... Ask your waiter, because this is a traditional Italian restaurant that has been around for years, they might use certain ingredients that may aggravate an allergy. I know their famous ice cream includes pistachio ice cream.

This was a revelation.. cheese on light crispy delicious base before tomato sauce . Who knew it could be so good.???? Delish - yum

Last week we went to Spumoni Gardens after a outing in BKLN. My son wanted to get pizza at L&B,we drove there and ordered a large square pizza on the way.we got there about10 min later I went inside & asked for my pie for Paul. The guy at the register barks out 48 dollars,I pay him and he grabs 2 boxes of pizza stacked on top of the oven, there must have beans least 12 pies double stacked up there. I bring pizza to the car and my son starts to drive home,my wife gives me a slice and one for my grandson. The pizza was at best semi warm and pretty much tasteless, the crust was doughy & cheese skimpy and sauce tasteless. this pie is about equal to Ellios frozen pizza, maybe better if you eat there.

Over the years I’ve visited this place when I’m in Brooklyn. The sauce on their pizza as well as how doughy the pizza dough is keeps me coming back for more!

They make their pizza with a thick, chewy crust that is to die for! The cheese tastes buttery, like no other pizza I've ever had before. The lines can be long at times, but the turnover is quick. Parking can be a hassle, bertter to take public transit. Highly recommend!

For those that don’t know Brooklyn, L & B Spumoni Gardens has the best Sicilian pizza on earth. It is doughy, just a little cheese, but absolutely an addictive drug. Brooklynites all go there for a fix. The other thing about this place is their Spumoni ice cream. Ya GOTTA come here and get both of these.

Visited L&B Spumoni Gardens on the Slice of Brooklyn Pizza Tour. The pizza is phenomenal. So light and delicious. The spumoni is just as wonderful. The service is excellent. Friendly servers. Love to talk and joke. Definitely a must go to when in Brooklyn.

Spumoni Gardens is somewhat of a neighborhood institution, having been in business since 1939. The open air tables are always filled in the summer, where people wait at the window for slices of pizza. They are known for their Sicilian slices which are excellent. They also have a restaurant adjacent, with a large menu of Italian specialties. Inside can be very noisy, and there is limited seating outside. The service was excellent. Food was delicious and they offer a very reasonably priced house wine. Finish up or take home some ices, in particular their homemade spumoni. Delicious, reasonably priced, and packed to the limit.

It's a must visit, one of the pizza icons of NYC. Opened in 1939 close to a Coney Island. A smaller but thicker Napolitano slice (square) with sauce and a little bit of cheese. The sauce and dough makes it so good. Eat inside or outside and it has a parking lot. Seafood salad was very good and the ice creams are great. A must visit any time you're in the area.

Spumoni Gardens is a family favorite! They really know how to prepare Italian food and also how to cater to families with children. I went there with my niece and three of her children. The littlest one is 2 1/2 and he already knows when we go there he is going to get great Pizza and this time was no exception. We ordered a large salad for the table and half a Sicilian pizza (that's 12 squares.) Their food is Great! and the service is pretty good too. And one must, absolutely must, end the meal with some spumoni. I especially like the pistachio flavor. I highly recommend this place to everyone!

Is an old style pizzeria and they also have a restaurant. We went inside to the restaurant it was very crowded so we decided to sit outside, instead of waiting a half an hour for a table inside. Our server was friendly and attentive. The food was very good. The reason I did not give them a 5 rating ,is because I didn’t like the way that they packed the gextra order of pizza that I purchased to take home. They threw the pizza slices, one on top of the another.

World known for Sicilian pizza, the food is great. If you want a new experience with Italian food try the dining room. All the dishes are amazing.

Update: came here on 9/3/21 with my friend as we both enjoyed another fabulous meal at L & B Spumoni Gardens, our server Matt was absolutely wonderful! We started with our appetizer of Fried Calamari and two slices of their famous tomato pie, and our entrees of veal marsala for me and veal Parmesan for my friend! The best ever! Then I got a slice of their Italian cheesecake, delicious! The cappuccino was very good, by Lavazza! My favorite Italian restaurant whenever I'm in town! Love all the staff!

Lovely pizzas. Crust is excellent. Feels like you’re eating focaccia bread. Must have if you’re in the neighborhood. The spumoni on the other hand is pretty odd. Would avoid, especially the pistachio flavor. Taste like eating ice.

Enjoyed the family atmosphere, the sauce or gravy if you prefer was seasoned well and was itself worth the visit. Wine available by the carafe or glass and our waiter made sure we were having a great meal and good time

Have no idea how they got 4.6 stars on Google and 4.5 stars here. Looks like they hired professionals for their internet profiles. I giving them 1 star. The worst pizza I ever had in my life. Cold watery mass they call pizza under any guidelines. How they call themselves Italian Restaurant I will never understand. Any small Pizzeria or even frozen pizza much-much better. Service "like OK". Waiter just forgetting what you ordered but after you recall him he remember. A manhole to the bathroom its a separate story. Looks like they want to discriminate all body-positive people. It is literally manhole. So pity that I didn't take a picture. Not forgetting prices - like Manhattan restaurants. For Brooklyn - a little bit high. For food they sell - Heavily Overpriced. Like 3 times. Overall - the First and the Last time there. They have parking.

My husband introduced me to L&B Spumoni Gardens 31 years ago & I absolutely LOVED it!! We no longer live in NYC but stopping there for some pizza is on our "must do" list of our favorite eateries every time we visit. We were up there this past Columbus Day weekend so we went on Sunday night around 9pm. It was packed and everyone was sitting outside, as it was a lovely evening. I highly recommend L&B Spumoni Gardens. Pizza & spumoni...a DELICIOUS combination!! We can't leave NYC without it & neither should you!

It’s an ordinary Italian place, nothing special or extraordinarily. The service was ok, not great, king of on a slower rate, food is ok, super greasy. And by the way the floor is too, it’s either greasy or they wash it with something as the floor is super slippery.

We visited L&B Spumoni Gardens as part of the Slice of Brooklyn Pizza Tour. Pizza purists swear by this place. I must say that the square Sicilian pizza was delightful! What made the pizza amazing was the sauce. It was some of the most delicious sauce that I've ever tasted-in NYC or anywhere else. Evidently, the sauce is homemade in house and simmered for hours. Our stop at L&B Spumoni Gardens was a highlight of the tour.

I have lived in Brooklyn my whole life and always knew the best place to get a slice is L&B. I love that in the summer you can sit outside and eat which is so nice. The pizza is always great and the restaurant part has great food and huge portions. This place is a landmark and definitely the place to go for great food.

Sicilian pizza was amazing. Pesto pasta totally lacking in flavor. Mushroom and peas not included in pasta dishes. Fettuccine Bolognese was terrible. Did not have that “cooked all day” richness in the sauce. Wait staff was friendly and helpful but spent most of their time attempting to correct the aforementioned pasta failures. To compensate, they brought an enormous complementary platter of spumoni, filled ice cream cones, sauces, and jimmies. There were 11 of us and the platter fed us all. We would go back for the pizza but not for a meal. My first visit here and likely the last, except maybe for the pizza.

Party of three with a empty Dinning room. Service and tasteless food. Complained about it no one cares will never return. If you want to waste your money and settle for a crap meal this is the right place for you. The end

I never thought a simple cheese Sicilian could make me so happy. There hasn't been a single person I've brought here that hasn't craved a slice after, even the meat-eaters love a good cheese slice from here. My bestfriend and I would come and order a full tray. We can only handle two slices each but we know we have to take the rest home for another day. We put them in freezer bags and warm them up whenever we want a slice. STILL AMAZING!!!

A slice of delicious square pizza and a scoop of spumoni was just right. If yr ever in Brooklyn and want really good food and desert. L & B spumoni Gardens is the only place I would definitely go to with no disappointment at all. Enjoy!

loved this pizza! had the "grandma" style, Sicilian with the cheese under the sauce. the texture of the crust was a bit chewy, which I loved! the sauce was also a bit sweet but I loved that too! the cheese was not the star of the show, you could barely tell it was there but that's because it was all balanced so well. I could have stood more cheese but it was really perfect the way it was. I loved this pizza! people like to mention di Fara's whenever talking about Brooklyn pizza so I will say I love their pizza too but it is completely different from Spumoni Gardens. I love them both!!! try this place for a classic experience - it's super good.

We were encouraged by friends to drive to Brooklyn to visit this iconic restaurant known for its delicious Sicilian style (square) pizza. We met the best waiter, Danny, who has worked there for 20 years and advised us to try other items too. We were amazed at the authentic quality of the pasta, sauces and the meat filled rice ball was the best we have had! Leave room for the famous homemade spumoni totally worth the calories!

After hearing so much about this restaurant, I was sadly disappointed. It’s best to go before 6 on the weekends. We were told our wait would be 25-30 mins and it ended up being 75 mins. While they tried to make up for it by giving free wine in the lobby we were forced to eat within 30 mins in order to make our concert at the Barclays Center. My slice of pizza was burnt on the bottom and the calamari was greasy. So it wasn’t worth the wait unfortunately. Perhaps I’ll try again another time.

Don’t know what all the fuss is about. My sister loves this place but she grew up around the area. I was disappointed with their square (Sicilian) pizza. There was barely any cheese on their pizza. Don’t know if the cooks were being lazy & stingy with the cheese or that’s just their way of making pizza. I’ve had better. Did enjoy their Italian ices though.

The line is long but moves fast, read the signs to make sure your in the right one for slices or whole pies. Be ready to order! Staff and people behind you are ready to go at this high volume, fast paced establishment. On to the pizza, two choices here the square Sicilian style, or typical New York style. We chose......BOTH. Why wouldn't you. The Typical New York slice was good. Perfect ratio of sauce to cheese to dough. Crunchy, delicious crust the likes of which we cannot find in my native Miami. The Sicilian was great, a much different take on pizza and the house specialty. Usually I'm all about the cheese, in this pizza it's used sparingly and placed on the thick dough, then topped with sauce. It's a thick and hearty pizza dominated mostly by the dough. But the buttery crust is phenomenal. We also had the rainbow Spumoni, an ice cream like dessert consisting of pistachio, chocolate and vanilla. This dessert is less creamy and more on the icy side which distinguishes itself from typical ice cream. The service was fast and efficient, not much time to chit chat at the take out window. The bathrooms were my only true complaint, if tried to hold it if I were there again.

It wasn’t as good as i remember. It’s been a while but gees guys what happened. Found a couple of things in our food that definitely shouldn’t have been there and could have been dangerous to swallow if not caught. Our server had to ask the kitchen about it and where it came from but we didn’t need an explanation. We figured it out way before he came back and that’s when we knew this place wasn’t like it used to be. We became very selective after that point on what we ordered and a little leery to continue our meal. But we did cuz it was a special trip. The portions were smaller and the price higher. It lost that sparkle for me it once had. Yes they took care of us due to our findings in our food but it should have never happened to start. The finish was a sweet one, and thank you but again another finding in the food that shouldn’t have been there. Past memories I will always have but this visit I will let go. We will not be back for awhile. Not even for the cold slice that was served to us first.

The most amazing food in the world. Let me just say that 7 days later I am still craving food that I never thought was on this planet. Try the grilled octopus....I only would eat Fried calamari before ( thought the grilled was always rubbery at places) but this was sooooooo, sooooo, sooooo good that I could not stop eating it. AND, if you don't try the PIZZA (best ever and I get great deep dish in my town), or the Spumoni (hand made THERE) you are losing out on a BUCKET LIST experience. Go, eat, enjoy, it's the best !!!!

Spumoni Garden in Brooklyn is the best place, best food and best atmosphere to have a full Italian American food experience in New York! We came all the way down from Italy for an academic research project about Italian food in New York and I can guarantee we could not choose anything better than Lenny's Restaurant and his family! We felt like family members visiting from Italy, we have been treated like that even if it was our first time in their restaurant. They are amazing and caring people, also making sure we knew how to get back to Manhattan where we were staying. The treats, the presents and above all their caring attention made our food experience even better. It's the warm human approach we really treasure! I would highly recommend to eat their prawns, seafood recipes, mushed potatoes, and of course their ice-cream desserts sipping a nice cappuccino! We'll be back for sure next time we are in town!

Took out two square pies. One traditional and one with vodka sauce. While waiting my wife and I had to get one of their desserts, all looked terrific. We had a spumoni and a creamsicle soft serve ice cream. Both were delicious. The pizza is always amazing and worth the trip to this Brooklyn staple.

Best Squares in the Universe . The Sauce is Amazing . Brooklyn Pizza At it’s Best . You have to Try one before you Die . Make it a Bucket List . Then After the Delish Squares go for a Nice Spumoni Ice , it’s Ridiculously Good . Highly Highly Recommend

We went on a Friday for dinner, and the wait for a table was over an hour, so we got a Sicilian slice and went somewhere else for pizza (I am not even going to mention the name of the other sub-par pizza place) we ended up returning for some more Sicilian and Ice cream (best peanut butter ice cream I've ever had) This is my favorite pizza in the whole world!!

In Brooklyn, our hosts recently took us for pizza and home-style ice cream to the much-hyped, Sicilian pizzeria L&B Spumoni Garden. The vaunted square pizza slices featured thick, deep pan pizza with an overdose of red sauce topping - the rims were blackened crisp and generally difficult to eat. The servings, on the other hand, were overly generous. My wife ordered a Ribeye steak sandwich which was too chewy and onion-laden. The “home-made” Spumoni ice-cream was more icy and less creamy! Overall, an extremely disappointing experience - L&B? “ Leave it be” ... would be my take!

This is my go to spot for Siciilian pie. Their pizza is thick and doughy and not too much sauce. You must come with an appetite because even half a pie is still a lot. I guess my husband and i are just greedy. The seafood salad is also delicious. They’re famous for their Spumoni but I couldn’t really tell you because I’m not fan.

We went there with my son and his girlfriend. The portions are generous, and delicious. The service was good, and they gave us complementary spumoni. They have a parking lot which is a good thing in Brooklyn.

We always stop here when we’re nearby visiting family. The question is always: how many pies to bring home?!?! My personal fave in all of NYC.

We order chicken parmigiana with bake ziti it was dry and had lots of cheese , parmigiana, ricotta and mozzarella the food was gross .

Family wanted to go there for Father's Day. We went to the 6 PM seating, and were seated promptly. Needless to say, every seat was taken inside and outside. Started off with Calamari-Good, Fried Zucchini-Good/Very Good, Mussels-Good, Mozzarella Sticks-Good, Pear Salad-Very Good. For entrees, we ordered Chicken Parmigiana-Good/Very Good, Veal Parmigiana-Good, Veal Marsala-Good, Chicken Marsala-Good/Very Good, Mussels Fra Diavolo-Good, Eggplant Parmigiana-Good/Very Good, Penne Vodka-Fair/Good, and my favorite, 12 slice Square Pizza, which I usually rate Excellent, but this time it had been sitting for awhile and it was still Very Good. Dessert was a large order of the Homemade Ice Cream and Gelato-Excellent, and Espresso-Very Good, and standard coffee-Good. Service was as good as could be expected with the full house. My ratings for L&B have been 4 and 5 Stars. Because of the day, It was a 3, but it was because of the overwhelming crowd. I expect my next visit where I order the Square Pizza, and one or two favorite Pasta dishes plus Gelato/Ice Cream for dessert to be a 4, or most likely a 5 as it has been for decades. Lesson learned.

I came here last friday with my partner for my birthday. We were staying in Williamsburg so was a bit of a trek but my god was it worth it! I am from the uk, so had only read about this place, but everything I read was positive. The prawns were the best i've ever had. They were absolutely massive and full of flavour! The value for money and meal size was unreal. Special shout out to Danny for the service and for the home made ice cream. We will be back.

Good Italian Restaurant. Large place with a lot of inside and outside seating. Great staff with prompt seating, ordering and serving. Prices were average, portions were large, some large enough to share. Good experience, worth a try if in Brooklyn.

Hubby and I dine here frequently as it is considered a neighborhood restaurant to us. We hardly order pizza (although it is super yummy!) but we always have a great meal here. For this visit we started with their awesome seafood salad. For our main course fried calamari, linguine with broccoli rabe & sausage. All were prepared fresh & delicious. And of course the infamous spumoni for dessert. Wait staff was super attentive to our needs. Another great eating experience at L&B Spumoni Gardens!

Great pizza. They have both traditional slice called round and Sicilian called square. The square pizza is thick. Definitely a hidden gem.

The Sicilian slice was cold. We went over there after getting a terrible hotdog from Coney and this wasn't any better, which is unfortunate because the locals talked it up.

This was a favorite spot when I was growing up in Brooklyn long before thevhipsters came, but happy to say its still great today, even with tour buses of guests stopping there now that its made all the best pizza lists. The Silican pie is the best in NYC and a style you wont see many places outside nyc. You can get meals eating inside but my favorite is two slices on a bench outside.

We were in the area for a soccer tournament and Spumoni’s was recommended by a friend. How lucky were we that it was a short walk from the fields. I convinced half the team to make the trek with us and everyone was glad they did. Of course, we tried the infamous squares and rainbow ice cream. Both were to die for but where LBSG really shines is the regular menu. We tried baked clams, shrimp parm and veal parm. Both entrees came with a choice of veggies/potato or pasta. We chose pasta. Each entree also came with a generous half loaf of Italian bread which has to be one of the best I’ve ever had. It’s a good thing the restaurant is not close to us as we would probably gain 20 lbs eating there all the time. Brought some squares home for other family members to try. Don’t even think twice, this is a must eat!!!

I've been a loyal customer since 1965 and can no longer be. Ordered Chicken Fettuccine in Alfredo sauce with an order of sausage parmesan with onions & peppers. When I received the food my fettuccine was not al dente, (raw not done). My wife's sausage was over cook, no onions or peppers very little cheese, no sauce as well . When I returned with the food for replacement , again IT WAS ALL WRONG. NO CHICKEN IN THE PASTA EVEN WHEN THE ORDER WAS FOR CHICKEN ALFREDO!!!!!! made a call to the Manager who told my wife I was suppose to mention chicken?, he was not Italian. When the manager spoke to the person who took the order he had to speak to him in Spanish. The manager proceeded to put the blame on us, how about that! Not to say that only Italian people can cook pasta but some body needs to know how to cook Italian food, if your place is saying that it's Italian. If not then the people in the place should understand how to cook pasta or sausages because you never know when your preparing a meal for a CHEF!! This was the third time in the past year that a meal from L & B was not cooked correctly. BETTER BACK IN THE DAY WHEN ITALIAN PEOPLE WORKED IN THE KITCHEN OR PEOPLE WHO KNOW WHAT AND HOW TO COOK FOOD! SORRY GUYS YOU JUST LOST A LOYAL CUSTOMER.

This pizza is crazy. Has the softest crust (bread/dough) and spicy sauce. Cant explain how crazy good this pizza is. Softest I ever had! Heard this sauce was to die for! Wait was about 40 minutes, but well worth it! One of the oldest joints in town!

Me and my partner travelled to NYC this year from the UK and one thing I was hugely looking forward to was trying all the pizza joints I’d heard so much about and I did a lot of research into what places I’d need to go to. I literally tried everywhere, joes, scarrs, supreme, best pizza, di fara, bleeker st, Prince st etc etc we literally went and tried pizza in all of them and L&B spumoni gardens Sicilian slice was definitely the best! In fact it was that good I honestly can’t think of a slice of pizza I’ve ever ate that was this good. This place is a little off the beaten track in Brooklyn, if you’re in Manhattan you can combine coming here into visiting Coney Island as it will take about 30-40 mins from Times Square to get here. The only thing I personally didn’t like was the Spumoni, it wasn’t bad but it wasn’t anything special either but that wouldn’t stop me highly recommend this place...I can’t wait to come back someday and have some more.

There are of course three sections to Spumoni Gardens: The pizza place, the hero shop and the restaurant, Its best to avoid the restaurant as the food quality and execution are not very good. What brings people here is the Sicilian slices and the heros. The Sicilian is quite good and the heros range from okay to good. The restaurants run down bathrooms brings it down a little as well as the service which is mechanically to the point with a lifeless, barely thinking staff. All in all a great place for some of the NYC's best Sicilian.

Wow, this place is way way way overrated, hard to get to , cheap average slices and Spumoni that is ice milk not ice cream. Save your time and money for good pizza, this is not it!

Wasn't in NY for a half hour and one of the guys was told to try this place that it was worth the drive. 100%!!! A quick history story and we were sold and on the way! I've never seen such a wait to get in a pizza restaurant before. The Staff is super fast and have a great system.....you are not waiting on the restaurant but everyone else finishing up from their meal. The Pizza (Sicilian pie) is nothing like I have ever had before. I cant explain how good the sauce was but how SOFT the dough was. It was a melt in your mouth Sicilian treat! We heard the ice cream was delightful but honestly didn't have room after the appetizers and pizza. This will be a place I highly recommend and will re-visit...… what a unique piece of history and a slice of Pizza to accompany.

My brother and sister in law got my family together and I invited some friends to celebrate my birthday. Everyone raved how fabulous the food is. Everyone loved the food and they want to come back. Next year my birthday is on a Saturday because of Leap Year, so we will celebrate here on my actual birthday.

After seeing the Christmas lights in Dyker Heights, we head to Spumoni's for a bite to eat. We order a few things between hot chocolates, cheesecakes, pizza and a cheesesteak sandwich. All good though I expected more. Friendly and friendly staff

I came here for a late lunch with several people one weekday. They sat me down quickly and the waiter brought the menus right away. The pasta dishes were large, if a little expensive. The fettuccine Alfredos were very good. The pizza was also good and full of flavor. I did not give them 5 stars due to the mandatory 20% tip for groups of more than 6 people.

Fall afternoon, trees turning, brisk chill in the air, etc. All hints of the coming of winter. So what does one do when you begin to dwell on the coming of winter and feel a chill coming on. What do I do? I jump in the car with my wife and go to L&B. The Square Pizza makes it summer all over again, when we would sit outside on a bench and enjoy. So we ordered the Fried Zucchini as appetizer, thinly cut with a crispy flavorful coating-Very Good starter. Then the Square (Sicilian Pie), with the very rich and flavorful spiced Tomato Sauce on top of a layer of Mozzarella. The center of the slice has a soft texture and the bottom is crisp.-Excellent! The best Square Pizza I have found anywhere. I eat 4 to 6 slices (really) and my wife eats 1 or rarely two. The rest we bring home and save it for a treat the next day. Followed up with their homemade Spumoni as dessert-Excellent finish to an Excellent Pizza meal. Feels like summer again, until we get outside! We have been going there for decades and never disappointed.

If you are just coming for the Amazing Sicilian Slices or the Fantastic Spumoni you are missing out on the other hidden treasures of L&B. Step inside to the wonderful no-frills dining room and have some of the Best Italian food in Brooklyn- from the great heros on the go inside- just look at all the cops, firemen, EMT's and Sanitation workers lines up for hot subs and you know it's got to be amazing- Chicken Parm to die for, Shrimp parm like they used to make in Bensonhurst in the 60's, Sausage and peppers that reminds you why in Bklyn we say "Sauseeege." At the waiter serviced tables inside try the seafood salad or the calamari, the great Caesar salad and the clams oreganata. Of course get a few square slices as an appetizer. You will thank me.

Another must stopover in Brooklyn if you are a pizza connoisseur; they serve the thick crust pizza and the best spumoni that you will ever have. The pizza is very heavy and filling but it is super tasty.

Went to L&B on a recommendation from A friend who grew up in Brooklyn, and From the Food Network. Hands down, this Is the best Sicilian pizza you can find. The Sauce is simply incredible. I wish I could Go back there every week. If you’re in Brooklyn, You must go to L&B Spumoni Gardens.

Spumoni Gardens is a landmark from my childhood. When you go to Spumoni Gardens you know you're getting great pizza, and great Spumoni and or soft serve ice cream. You go there to enjoy the atmosphere of the people while you sit outside and relax. You can also sit inside and have meals served to you. If you were brought up in Brooklyn or if you just want to experience the Brooklyn experience this is your place to go.

A trip to Brooklyn would not be complete without a stop at L&B Spinoni Gardens. The Sicilian pizza is one of a kind, so savory and light at the same time. Just the right amount of cheese and sauce. The crust is crispy in the outside and light pillowy on the inside, with a sprinkled fresh Romano’s the end-perfection, A must do❤️❤️❤️

Came on a very busy Sunday late afternoon/early evening. L&B was crazy busy as usual....our party of 6 had to wait at least 30 minutes, to be expected. The outdoor seating area for food, spumoni and iced were packed also. We were finally seated, ordered our food, all excellent except our server was constantly Missing In Action, saw him sporadically throughout our stay there but he made he appeared with the check. Order whatever your heart desires from the menu, you can't go wrong, but make sure you have room for dessert, the spumoni is a treat you will not soon forget.

MId-afternoon on a weekday. Called a neighbor of ours who wanted to go to L&B. told her this was the right time, we would be there at 2 PM on a weekday. She immediately hung up and got to my car before I did. Arrived there relatively quickly, it was not yet rush hour. Got a table immediately. Ordered the appetizers, Calamari-Very Good and Fried Zucchini-Very Good/Excellent. Then we ordered a Square Pie, 12 slices of gastronomic delight. The best square (Sicilian) pie I have found anywhere after multiple decades of Pizza exploring and eating.-Excellent x10! We all enjoyed it with big smiles and some sauce on our faces. Finished with Made-in-House Gelato and Ice Cream, a delicious ending-Excellent. Staff was light, and service was slow but tolerable. We all went home with a big smile of satisfaction on our faces.

L&B Spumoni Gardens is a no-frills Italian restaurant, pizzeria and spumoni/ice cream place combined. They cater to families, tourists and locals alike. We went with friends to L&B restaurant for dinner on a Tuesday and the place was packed. I highly recommend a reservation which we did which is why we got seated right away. We enjoyed our meal and the highest praise went to the veal parmigiana, the linguini with clams in red sauce and the shrimp fra diavolo. The fried calamari and zucchini for appetizers and the veal Sorrento entree were average. For dessert, the tartufo supreme is a must and the portion is large enough to share.

The best squares on earth. A must pizza destination for any pizza lover. The sandwiches are outstanding and don’t forget to have some Spumoni!!!!!!!

Wow! I have heard of other pizza places mentioned as a “must-visit” in the city. L&B Spumoni Gardens was incredible! The cheese was perfectly melted in the way that they cooked it. The tomato sauce had an incredible taste to them after being at the top of the pizza. I highly recommend that anyone visiting NYC come to this landmark.

My son and I tried L&B Spumoni as one of several pizzeria’s. It was our least favorite of the three. When ordering by the slice you cannot request extra toppings, and the plain pizza has very little flavor compared to the other places we visited. We can say we tried it but I don’t see a need to ever return.

Worth the trip to Brooklyn for this old standby Italian Restaurant well known for their Sicilian square pizza and their full menu of Italian specialties. Try their homemade Spumoni as well!

Great for authentic Sicilian Pizza. Be warned, the Sicilian Pizza is a little different. They put the cheese on, then the sauce. Put grated cheese on top, which added a little more taste to it. There were also other choices to make to put on.

Best pizza experience u can have in Brooklyn ny Today was pizza national day so that’s why the Lines was crazy today but everything was worth it

Ordered shrimp marinara over penne. Red sauce was sweet and delicious. Baked clams good too. Spumoni was the prize. Previous times I’ve had their pizza and calamari which were equally delicious. Maybe I try some hero’s next time.

Visited with A Slice of Brooklyn and I sit at home wishing for another slice. This is the best I've ever had. The spumoni for desert is the perfect ending to a great meal.

Went here a week ago or so and place was as it seemed on TV ....open space, insane parking, and a line. Seating was tough, but we found a table. Ordered a pie and water...through them off with half pepperoni, if you are in a hurry, don't get a topping. I thought the cheese under the soauce was excellent. The dough was perfect and the sauce really tasty. Kids did not. My wife liked it as well. This spot is a definite must if visiting Brooklyn. Very Brooklyn...reminds me when I lived in area for a few months and has on,y changed by the people with their smart phones.

Walked an hour to find this place because it says “vegan options” only to find there wasn’t any 😫. Not a happy camper!!

Attended a Brooklyn Pizza tour and this restaurant was one of the stops Lovely flavours Good service Some interesting memorabilia - Sopranos boys photos etc Served alcohol at a price

This rat place is having a six slice minimum for all customers at the window, not one slice or 2, you have to spend $15.00 on 6 slices. It shows their lack of character as being greedy and taking advantage of people during this difficult time. Thats ok, because of this ridiculous rule that some jerk made up, you'll def lose business. Ill never support them again.

I ate here with a friend. I ordered my two slices of Sicilian pizza, (can't come here and not have it) chicken francese, house salad, mixed vegetables and a soda. Everything was excellent.....food and service.

I ordered both a Sicilian pizza slice and a regular. All were amazing. Top 5 ever for sure. Service was excellent and my pie came out fast!

This place isn't easy to get to, and in my opinion, you can find better pizza in more easily accessible areas of New York City. Personally, I feel if you're going to go off the beaten path for pizza, Di Fara is the superior choice. Having said that, this pizza has a solid crust, nice crisp with a little char on the bottom. It’s fluffy and not overly doughy like other Sicilian style slices, but could use a little more flavor overall.

Saw this place on Man v Food some years ago. Made a note of it and as we were going to Coney Island for the day thought we would kill two birds with one stone. Stopped on the way to Coney Island and found it with no problem, just a couple of blocks from the subway station at 86th street. Ordered The Sicilian pizza, wow!!! So soft and fluffy. Only two of us but we managed it. I would say perfect for four. Only regret is we were too full to try anything else!!

Would you rent a car for $50 and drive 30 min to eat a $3 slice of pizza? Well, we did and it was tasty, memorable and worth it! The square slices were better than the round slices. The sauce was super. The bread was crunchy and delicious!

Worst pizza I have ever eaten, trash, pure trash. Taste like tomato soup on bread.. Don't waste your time or money. No flavor, piece of crap, this is an insult to Sicilian pizza. Anybody, I mean anybody who rates this place higher than a 1 is feeding you crap .... just like L & B.

My absolute favorite pizza place on earth. Anytime I pass through Brooklyn I buy a sheet of Sicilian. The slices are square Sicilian and the quality control is tight. Never had a bad slice. The spumoni Italian ice cream is amazing. You can buy it from the deep freezer and it will remain frozen if you're driving. I've driven 6 hours with it in a cooler with no additional ice, and it was still rock hard when I arrived. Once you try this spumoni, no other "spumoni" you find anywhere else will be good enough. The rice balls are also second to none. If you're in NYC, you can take the N/R line or F trains. The nearest stops are Avenue U or 86th Street.

Last week I ate here with my accountant and his daughter. As always, the food was fabulous! The daughter and her father shared a slice of the Sicilian slice. I had my usual, a Sicilian slice, house salad and chicken francese/w mixed vegetables. This was the first time his daughter ate here. She loved the food. I couldn't believe how crowded it was. We sat in the extension of the restaurant. A bus with tourists sat in our area and was explained how to eat the pizza when it came out! I asked one of the tourists where they were from and she said Finland! I'm sure the other tourists were from other U.S. states and other countries. I can't believe this is a stop on a city tour.....AMAZING!

Came here with my mother because we were told it was one of the best pizza's in NYC. We may as well have gone to Sbarro. The pizza was raw. After telling the rather rude waiter it was raw, he tried to argue with us that it wasn't. Showing him the goo of raw dough under the cheese and sauce, he reluctantly put in the oven (we are assuming) brought it back an it was still raw. The flavor of it was mediocre at best. I think their reputations have definitely gone to their heads. We shall stick to making it ourselves as we usually do.

After the Tourist Traps of Little Italy you'll be more than happy to get far away to this place that serves up good old fashioned Italian-American cuisine. Don't have time? Grab a Sicilian slice on the go. Parking next door!

Decided to go out for my husbands birthday he wanted to try this place and see what the whole fuzz was about since we would always drive by. We arrived to the place on a rainy monday night was not too busy, we were sat immediately next to the heater that was super hot and waited about 10 minutes till the waiter finally approach us. We immediately requested to be moved to a different table which did not seem like a problem since it was empty. We placed our appetizer to share which was very tasteful and rather much enjoyable. After a few waiter approach us to take our main course order I ordered vodka sauce pasta and side of french fries and my husband ordered a chicken alfredo the main course were good and as for the fries they never arrived to the table as well as a last drink we had requested waiter was very unattentive and careless he was too busy eating rather then providing proper service . We also requested utensils which the waiter commented that we could have grabbed it from a different table. To me it was by far bad customer service since busboy felt the need to spray windex to clean the table right next to us as we were eating our food. The lack of attention they had was bizarre they even placed a bus bucket on the table right next to us which seemed very unsanitary. We left very unhappy we were expecting more from this place which left us with a sour taste in our mouths. I would not recommend nor go back to this place im sure I can get better food and service from a local pizzeria.

Haven't been there in awhile, so my wife and I jumped in the car and went to L&B. Ordered the Sicilian (Square) Pizza. It is their best offering in my opinion. We always order a full pie so we can eat there and have some saved for another meal home. We go in the early afternoon to beat the crowds. In the summer, on a nice day you can sit and eat outside. We choose inside most of the time. Ordered the Sicilian Pie, looked good, but for me the sauce was not quite up to par as compared to prior visits. It was Good/Very Good but not Excellent. Consequently, my rating is 4 Stars and not the usual 5. Hope it was just a bad day. Service was Very Good.

It's been over 6 years since I've reviewed them. It is the same except for the fact we can't sit down an enjoy the time with the family at the tables. My family enjoyed eating it at home, (drove from Staten Island to pick up) reminding us of great times with the family here in the past, and look forward to revisiting again, sooner than later. And can't leave here without their spumoni as well. Not everyone may love their pizza, but our entire family does. They must be doing something right as the owners are fourth generation. Making spumoni since 1939 and pizza since the 1950's! Can't wait to return with grandchildren to create next generation of memories. Thank-you L&B for being a constant in our lives!

I LOVE L&B. My friend and I have been going there since we were teenagers. We still got this day go there to have great pizza and catch up.

We had our pizza to go on the way to the airport (unfortunately, we had too many restaurants on our list and not enough time to hit them all this trip). It was delicious. As a person who's not normally a fan of deep dish, I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed the Sicilian pizza. Definitely recommend.

The Sicilian pie is a most order. It’s a bit expensive at $24 but the crust, sauce and grated cheese are all outstanding ingredients. Sit down restaurant is to the right and carry out is to the left. They have metal picnic tables outside. If you’re in Brooklyn, give it a try. Pie will feed 3 people. Location accepts credit cards.

We traveled across Brooklyn for the spumoni, not the pizza. We had a slice of each and the round was better than the square pizza... yet neither would bring me back... especially in Brooklyn with all the pizzerias available. Enjoy the Spumoni!!!

waiter was great/ food was good/seating/atmosphere was good what else do u want to fill 100 spaces??

L&B is known for their square Sicilian style pizza, unusual in that they place the ample amount of mozzarella cheese under the sauce, rather than on top. It is delicious. They also feature homemade ices, their specialty being spumoni, a combination of chocolate, pistachio and almond. They have always had lots of outdoor seating and also have a full Italian restaurant on the premises with excellent food. A Brooklyn landmark!

I had to meet with a Brooklyn company who will be working on a project for me and the person who picked me up was born & raised in Brooklyn 46 years ago ... he was also .. shall we say part of a big “family” from the area so our tour of the area was colorful ! He wanted to take us to one of his childhood favorite restaurants L& B Spumoni Gardens. It’s a busy local place with out door tables and a window that you can order from and another attached area that must have been added on so you can sit down and eat. We were there at 2 pm and it was packed with local people who .. it was obvious .. we’re locals! The food was just ok. The pizza is different in that they put the cheeses on then the sauce. Tasty but came to the table cold. The rice balls were very good and one of the guys had chicken parmesan which was tasty. The sauce is sweet and similar to my in laws way of making sauce. Oh.. parking ... there isn’t any but people doubled parked and no one seemed matter. Go .. get the full flavor of old Brooklyn

What a great expierence We had a party of 14 started with baked clams fried calamari and fried zucchini. everything came out hot and tasty fried foods had a nice crunch. We then had one square pie. Probably the best Pizza i have ever eaten If you expecting lots of cheese order something else. The crust is crunchy and very taste. Loved the sauce. For desert we had 2 of the spumoni boats.I liked the Tartufo the most. The square pie was so good I bought 4 slices to go. There is a small parking lot .We had to park on the street by the el

Visited here at the request of my husband whilst on vacation. You are not allowed any topping on the pizza unless you buy a whole one which is disappointing. I paid extra for a whole pizza just so we could have pepperoni, once we sat down the topping wasn’t on it so we now had a plain pizza we didn’t need as we could have bought plain slices on their own 🙈my husband had to return it and get another one. Once the drama over toppings was sorted, we really enjoyed the pizza. The pizza sauce is like a marinara / bolognese with a slight spice to it. Very nice!

Our first time at Spumoni Gardens. Best Sicilian pizza I have ever had! I enjoyed the cheese on top of the dough and then the sauce on top of the cheese. Excellent flavor sauce. Outstanding dough and cheese. Spumoni was delicious. One small is enough for two people. Definitely will come back!

Family friendly casual dining. Service is always very friendly. Came with different friends on each experience and they enjoyed all the dishes, where I found them to be average, and red and pizza sauce was more on the heavy concentrated side, so not good for my sensitive stomach. They enjoyed the Sicilian pizza, baked clams, Caesars salad, malfade with sausage ragu special. The pistachios spumoni was refreshing!

I went for Dinner last Sunday at L&B Spumoni Gardens in Brooklyn . The Food was Fantastic , the Service was Excellent ! I could not have been more pleased . We started off with A dozen baked clams for an appetizer. They were cooked to perfection! Then we had the Veal cutlet parmigiana which was mouth watering and so tender , you could cut the veal with a fork ! My friend had their Home made lasagna which was delicious ! It doesn’t surprise me that this restaurant has been serving people close to 100 years . The Food and service was phenomenal ! Keep up the good work ! I definitely will be back to dine here again most definitely!

Worst calamari of all time. Like embarrassing for an Italian restaurant. No squid, just eating fried flakes. Plus one of their staffers took my sunglasses. Sunglasses just don’t walk off the table.

L&B is my favorite pizza in Brooklyn, we have to stop in whenever we are in town. Nothing fancy just great Sicilian pizza.

As I was walking down 10th and about to make the turn onto 86th I could smell the amazing aroma of the pizza. This isn’t your typical New York Style Pizza, that is a large triangle folded in half. The slices are square and have the sauce on top. Don’t let this deter you! The only downside is the slice is cheese only, no additional toppings. As you bite into the slice it is initially soft then ends with excellent crunch the from the golden crust. I was told the sauce is cooked over a long period of time and made fresh daily. The sauce also had Parmesan Cheese mixed in for that extra flavor and saves your from having to add it later. The slices are very economical at $3 a slice and soft drinks are $1.5. If it’s a nice day, it’s great to sit outside with the abundance of seating available. They also had ice cream which was mediocre. I’d recommend skipping it and get another slice. If you do get the ice cream, they have a mixed flavor with chocolate, vanilla and pistachio. The pistachio was the best of the three. Cups are under $4. The large is great for sharing. They offer take out and use delivery apps as well

Avery popular pizza parlor and pasta typical Brooklyn Italian restaurant. Pizza comes in two or three varieties with Sicilian square think crust being most famous.

I have very high pizza expectations and I must say that the pizza here is some of the best. I would definitely go again.

Although L&B Spumoni Gardens has a full service restaurant, which is pretty good traditional Italian cuisine, it's the Square Pie, aka as Sicilian Pizza, that everyone we know, asks for. It's a tomatoey hunk of comfort with a crispy crust that satisfies! The other restaurant offerings range from average to excellent, depending on the dish. I like their generous serving of sausage and peppers, with a side of pasta.

Its a straight forward pizza/pasta environment. Huge buzz in the place, full of locals I'm guessing. It's a bit like stepping into a movie set....It's full of types. The waiters look & sound like they came straight from Italy. We just had a few pizzas which did the job but can't say much more. Great Coney Island experience.

Most delicious pizza spot in South Brooklyn, must go if in the area! Would go there everyday if I could.

On a return trip from JFK airport, I took my family to the legendary L&B Spumoni Gardens!!! While finding a parking space is not for the faint of heart, the Sicilian pie is worth a parking ticket or possibly forget the car and take an Uber... For years I heard about L&B and wow did it ever live up the reputation and this (Sorry Mike) comes from a devoted Denino's pizza eater! If you are not happy with L&B Spumoni Gardens check for a pulse...

We visited here last year as a friend who lives in Brooklyn brought us down. I’ve not stopped thinking about ever since. I dream only in pizza now. Incredible.

L&B Spumoni gardens is truly an emotional experience for your mouth! Just outstanding flavors! I have visited several times over the years and I am always amazed at how perfect the pizza is, tasty the carbonara is, and the quality of portions and outstanding service!

There is nothing better than going with the family at Spumoni Gardens, pizza and icecream. In Brooklyn

We went there after a Yankee game. We didn't have to wait for a table. The service was great. We had the sicilian and it was very good We also had meatballs.. excellent. All.in all a 5

It was a Sunday evening, and we both wanted to go out to get something special to eat. We began naming restaurants, and the one that we both said at the same time was (you guessed it) L&B Spumoni Gardens. When we got there, the placed was jammed, people were sitting inside, outside, everywhere but the roof (if there was a ladder, I am sure some would start climbing). I don't like to wait usually, but we were set on L&B, so we sat and waited. Half hour later, we were called for a table-YES! We were ready! Started with an order of Fried Zucchini, tasty crust and just enough so you did not lose the taste of the zucchini itself-Excellent start. We then ordered a Scilian (Square) Pie, yes a whole one. What we don't eat we bring home and 'pizza party' the next day. It was fresh out of the oven, with the uniquely delicious sauce generously topping the layer of Mozzarella, and the dough with a cristy crust on the bottom and a soft center-Magnifico! We began to devour the hot Pizza immediately. We did a great job in record time. No we didn't finish the whole 12 slices, there were 3 slices left which we brought home. (We shared the 3 slices equally the next day. Clearly we love each other.) Not over yet, can't leave without some home made Ice Cream, Gelato and Spumoni for dessert. Excellent finish to another great L&B adventure! LOVE IT!

We ordered a plain Sicilian pizza. The sauce was good but not memorable. The cheese was placed directly on the crust and under the sauce. As a result, the cheese taste did not come through very well. This pizza reminded me of a bakery store that does pizzas as a sideline to their main business - basic but uninspired.

Love the sicilians no topping needed. Top off with a nice spumoni. Prices have increased naturally over the years but it's still addictive. Get a half tray for. EDT bsng for your buck.

My friend and I visited this establishment on 7/2/21. It was my first time here and I was in for a real treat. We welcomed by our server John who was amazing! We started off with our drinks, bread , and our starters, I had a glass of Chianti which was a great glass, we both had the fried calamari, prepared to perfection, we had the casear salad which tasted a little bitter to out palates, then each of us got a slice of the famous sicilian pie, which was absolutely out of this world delicious. Then our entrees came, my buddy had the rigatoni bolognese and I had the spaghetti carbonara, which was prepared differently, we both enjoyed our dishes. I was told to end my evening with a cup of their spumoni, which was creamy deliciousness, I have a little critique about the spumoni, I have had spumoni which consists of chocolate, vanilla, cherry, and pistachio ice creams together. Other than that everything was spectacular! Definitely check out L & B Spumoni Gardens, It's Highly Recommended! Tell em Charlie sent ya!
