Great Place

By gopher69 |

This place accommodated our party of fourteen people with notice. The service was great and the food was delicious. A few items I tried were mussels appetizer good, chicken Milanese very good, salmon great and pesto sauce over gnocchi delicious. Best I've had in awhile.

Great Service, yummy food!

By Swisscss |

Angelo is the consummate host! He welcomes you with a smile, sits at your table, tells you what the best things to order are and generally makes your experience memorable. The food is outstanding. I definitely recommend the vegetable soup... it is a family recipe and is delicious! Robert, the owners son waited on us and he is a pro. Ask for recommendations, he will surely steer you in the right direction.

Local Italian restaurant

The food was okay, the atmosphere was okay. Nothing out of the ordinary here. Still, friendly people serving comfortable food is a good thing.

Made to feel like we were in a second home

By Daniel S |

We arrived just as they were going to close for the afternoon (which we did not know that they close then). Rather than send us away, as other places in L.A. would, Robert Peloni, the owner's son, invited us in. He made us feel like long-lost cousins. He created a salad for one of our party. The calamari was sauteed just right, not too long. The Bolognese sauce was wonderful. We had a fabulous time. We were not rushed. We are looking forward to returning there on our next trip to L.A. If you are in the West L.A. area, please treat yourself to a wonderful meal here.

Great Italian Restaurant

By ltlitalian |

We went to La Bruschetta with some friends. We loved the hospitality of the owner and the staff. They were so friendly and very patient with us as we spent so much time talking that we didn't look at the menu for a while. They never made us feel rushed to order. The atmosphere and food was wonderful. I definitely will go there again.

Excelentissimo

The delicious dishes, atmosphere, and service, capped by host/owner Angelo, are to be envied by other ristautrantes.

Excellent Italian Cuisine!

By Travelgoddess296 |

I really love gnocchi and this restaurant's is the very best I have ever tasted. They are always light and fluffy, I don't know how they do it, consistently excellent!

Great family run Italian restaurant

By Judith B |

This restaurant never disappoints. It's been a go to spot in Westwood for years. The owner and staff are friendly and accommodating to families

Most delicious Italian food in LA - perhaps the entire U.S.

By Nancy W |

I had an absolutely DELICIOUS dinner last night at La Bruschetta with my boyfriend and daughter. The owner's son waited on us, and was delightful, knowledgeable, and very generous. The gnocchi was the best we had every eaten -- fluffy pillows of melt-in-your-mouth yumminess. Outstanding lasagna -- nothing fancy, just perfect. And the barramundi fish was prepared in the most deletable way -- lightly lemony delicousness. And the profiteroles -- holy cow. That dessert that put us into a collective swoon. Thank you for a wonderful evening -- you're the best!

Place has really gone down hill

By Abraham W |

We have been eating here for years, and service is still decent but food has fallen to below mediocre. Linguini with shrimp actually came with spaghetti, and waiter had no idea why. Very few shrimp, and the sauce could have come from a supermarket jar. Not even good for a low end Italian restaurant. Desserts aren't on the menu but rattled off by a waiter who can't really speak English. The place is just coasting on an old reputation.

Great Every Time

By Pollll |

Like a great club. Welcoming and professional service. Lots of specials plus great standbys. Outstanding Bolognese but everything is very good. Comfortable, relaxing atmosphere. I always enjoy it for lunch and want to come back which I do often. Highly recommended.

Outstanding authentic Italian restaurant!q l

This restaurant was recommended to us by the owner of another outstanding restaurant. It is delightful! Very good food, and they modified a dinner to suit our daughter's allergies. Th atmosphere is cozy and yet, upbeat. Very careful attention to details was given by the server.

Very Nice Italian Restaurant in Westwood

By geotech522 |

After a day of meetings at UCLA, we went south on Westwood Boulevard to La Bruschetta for dinner. Surprisingly, it was not all that crowded on a Friday night. We were greeted warmly and had a nice table that was very comfortable. The restaurant was not too noisy either. The waiter was very helpful and the service, although not too fast, was satisfactory. The food was very good and we were never rushed. It was an enjoyable experience. Valet parking was available. Prices are on the expensive side, but still worth it.

Italian family feast

By Nick T |

Nice family-owned and run italian restaurant in westwood. Ordered the vealmarsala and it was just as prescribed - thin slices of veal with great flavors. Management is flexible with substitutions especially when an order of gelato comes with 3 scoops - not a big fan of pistachio ice cream - they were happy to replace with chocolate. Received unexpected attitude from non-family server when I asked him to to segregate my wine tab from my meal even if I laid down my request when I first placed my orders.

wonderful place

Great food and atmosphere in westwood

By traveltime111 |

The atmosphere here and service ranks in the best in LA. This is a family run restaurant and it showed in the personable, caring attention I received during my dinner. For a Starter, I had the Cuore di Lattuca(hearts of lettuce) with Gorgonzola, Guanciale(cured pork cheek)and Balsamic Reduction. This was one of the tastiest salads I've had in years with an exquisite combination of flavors. My entree was the Linguini ai Gamberoni. The shrimp were some of the largest I've ever seen swimming in delicious pasta and spicy tomato sauce. I really enjoyed the ambience(lighting, seating arrangement and decor with beautiful Italian watercolors on the walls) turning this into a wonderful fine dining experience. Very highly recommended for the finest Italian cuisine in WLA.

Just like it stated excellent

I loved this place right off the bat.Staff was unbelievable. They could not do more for you and it was busy, but they did not miss a beat, the food was outstanding. We will return here and tell our friends.

Average Italian

By I_Giulia88 |

Booked this restaurant hoping to find some real Italian cuisine. The appetizer with grilled aubergine was average at best. The aubergines were not freshly grilled and that is what I would expect in a cheaper restaurant. The pasta was okish and since I ordered the special ravioli I did feel it was either reheated or that is just how it felt. The restaurant is actually very well decorated, the food does not do it justice. For $45 each with a glass of wine I firmly believe there are much better options in LA. I will not be going back unless the cuisine improves.

Dinner at la bruschetta

By noonienoo31 |

Wonderful food, decent prices --lovely ambiance - very attentive and always present owner. Eggplant parmesean , linguini and clams, lamb chops are among our very favorites . Nice, reasonably priced wine list and white tablecloths. Just south of wilshire blvd. what more could you ask for? Make a reservation!

A neighborhood restaurant you can count on

By psychjudy |

The food is excellent, the host is lovely and the waitstaff very attentive (and they have a good sense of humor). It get crowded and noisy after 7 PM, but an early dinner is wonderful if you want to talk with your dinner mates. Enjoy!

Delicious food, Great Service and not noisy

By Ruth W |

The Italian cuisine at La Bruschetta is excellent, both the regular menu and the specials. Host Angelo is very welcoming and his son Robert is also very helpful and congenial. There is great food in a relaxed atmosphere which is NOT noisy, all too rare in Los Angeles these days.......

Cozy and Quiet Italian Restaurant Near UCLA

By Jenifer E |

We wanted a great meal, but wanted a restaurant where we could actually hear each other talk. If noise level is an issue for you, this is a place to be quiet and relaxed while you enjoy a tasty Italian meal. Our service was attentive. We appreciated the Italian waiters and manager. They were relaxed, friendly, and seemed to value us as patrons. We enjoyed an appetizer of fresh melon and prosciutto on this warm LA evening. It went perfectly with the Italian rose I ordered. Salads were fine, a bit over dressed, but still crisp. My simple gnocchi was a perfect texture. The cheese sauce was rich. My husband ordered the ravioli special-spinach filled with a fresh marinara sauce. Excellent. Parking was easy to find. Might be more difficult if you ate earlier in the evening. Valet parking is available. Bon appetito!

GREAT Place for a Dinner Party!

By EwanderingMan |

My daughter-in-law was toasted by her friends, family and professors here in the evening after she received her doctoral degree from UCLA. We all shared a delightful antipasto (misto I believe) preparation, and ordered individually from the scrumptious menu. Service staff were quite attentive and the ambience of the establishment lent to a delightful evening, indeed! Oh, a note about "functional decor"... the double walls of wine racks make for a very interesting and pleasing background for the evening's dining!

Perfect Italian

By David K |

The owner and staff are so attentive. The wine list extensive and reasonable. The salads are fresh and delicious and we had the vegetable soup pure which was great on a cold night. We shared the branzino which was done just right and the side of pasta was perfect. Everything about this Westside Italian is spot on. Save room for the molten chocolate cake which is a great touch to a wonderful evening!

Incredible authentic Italian Restaurant

By don15215 |

My wife and I found this restaurant while visiting LA and needing to eat close to a theater in the Westwood area. While the reviews were good our meal exceeded them. We shared a house specialty, a puree of vegetables with pesto. With more nerve I would have asked for the recipe. My wife had another house specialty, a fettuccine in their house meat sauce. It may not sound special but the sauce was deep and rich allowing a little to go a long ways. The way you imagine a dish like this should taste but almost never does. I had a pasta dish with shrimp and a curry cream sauce. I've never seen a curry on an Italian menu before but Genoa is far enough north that it doesn't surprise me. This was one of the most delicious dishes I've ever had. The service was excellent, the ambiance very nice and the overall experience superior in every respect. Except for the price. As good as it was our meal was under priced. This place offers great food and a good value. A few notes here as an aside to the meal. The restaurant was used in the filming of "Moneyball" and there are photos and letter to that effect in the hallway leading to the rest rooms. Also in that hallway is the most endearing newspaper article about the owner of the restaurant's efforts to encourage kids to improve their grades by treating them to lunch. The article is terrific.

Charming, Delicious...Will Go Back Again

By AlexandrainLa |

Was looking for a lovely place to spend Christmas Day dinner. I work in Westwood and always drive by La Bruschetta, wanting to give it a try. For Christmas day, we were able to get a 7pm reservation. We were greeted and seated immediately and given a bruschetta appetizer. It was hard to choose one main Entrée, but tried the seasonal Paccheri. We also shared the Burrata & Black/White Truffles. The ambiance was lovely, and it was great to share a nice meal with family in a place that felt cozy. The food was delicious and the service was exceptional. I will be back soon.

Excellent Italian not far from UCLA

By 386trugrit |

This is a great spot for Italian food near UCLA. Its near the heart of Little Tehran and it’s far enough from campus to take an Uber or Lyft. The pasta was outstanding and the service was excellent. It’s a small place and has an authentic feel. We brought our picky teenager who usually gets fettuccini Alfredo or carbonara. The carbonara was below average in his mind but, as an Italian food lover, I thought it was above average. I’d go there again if I don’t bring a teenager.

Best Italian Ristorante in West Los Angeles

By Robert C |

La Bruschetta has deservedly earned a loyal West Los Angeles following and has long been one of the most authentic, yet relaxed Italian Restaurants in Los Angeles for over 30 years. The dining room is warm, lovely and brimming with an Italian mentality. It is perfect for a romantic night for two, for friends or for the whole family. The food is Northern Italian and absolutely tastes like you are eating in Italy. The Pasta is Al Dente, all the time. One never needs to ask. The wine list is excellent and reasonable. Fish dishes are creative and wonderful. Sauces are sublime. The restaurant combines great food, with great service and great ambiance at fair prices.

A rare treasure, truly authentic italian cuisine from an obvious son of Italy!

By mopsos |

The staff, excellent, the food.. amazing, the wine list great! The Pastas.. homemade I am ready to return to LA just for the gnochetti special!

Terrific Italian Food

By Don B |

Terrific Italian food! We were impressed with the Eggplant Parmigiana layered with thinly sliced meatballs and the sautéed spinach with puréed cannellini beans. The service was impeccable and friendly. These folks care!!!

Wonderful food with services to match!

All four of us had a great dinner with unique wine choices. Definitely will come back. Valet service available.

Better than Ever!

By Glen F |

Better than Ever. Indoors totally updated and food still the same great food served with friendly exquisite service. Very Covid Safe! The owner Angelo, is always close by to make sure the food is top notch and the service is first rate. If you've been before, time to come again-if you haven't been but have always wondered-do yourself a favor and go you will not be disappointed.

Excellent lunch

By malibuirishmike |

Business lunch. Waiter was extremely knowledgeable and professional. He recommended a pasta daily special that was first rate. Beautiful prosciutto and melon appetizer also. Everyone at our table professed themselves delighted with their meal. Atmospherically, the place is a little dead, but perhaps it's more lively in the evenings. A nice find.

Great Italian Food - Nice atmosphere

By Mitch H |

Went with a group of 10 on a Friday night. The Owner was very accommodating. Restaurant is decorated very nicely. The food was excellent. Of note was the lamb shank that was wonderful. All 10 in our group gave this restaurant an excellent review.

A wonderful evening

By Reynard-DC |

I traveled out to Los Angeles on April 24, 2010 to meet up with my friend for my birthday. We had reservations for 7 pm, but she was running late so I called and asked if we could push the reservation back to 7:30. They obliged without any problem. She wasn't going to make 7:30, so I called again and they obliged by pushing the reservation back to 8:30. We ended up being10 minutes late for that time too. The restaurant was busy, but they seated us without any problem. We had the owner's son waiting on us and he made some helpful suggestions about specials on the menu. Service was pleasant and friendly. Our waiter was attentive without hovering. Appetizer and main course were both large portions and were served quickly, so they were good and hot. The dishes were cooked to perfection. We were both soon pleasantly full. We both had a wonderful evening. I highly recommend La Bruschetta. I will definitely eat here again on my next visit to LA.

Outstanding

By JLA |

One of those restaurants you can't miss. Simply perfect service handled by a highly experienced staff and management. Superb food. Obviously a frequent dining spot for many angelenos.

Made for a most memorable night!

By BrittPartyOfFour |

We went here for a celebration dinner for my daughters White Coat Ceremony. Could not have chosen a better place! Parking was a breeze. We ordered based on the waiters recommendations and the food was fabulous! The owner and his son and our waiter worked in unison delivering our food and drinks (and conversation) and making us feel like we had been daily customers for the last 20 years! They even brought us over some extra desserts that they wanted us to try (at no charge). LOVED them...LOVED the food...will return again and again

Good food, a bit pricey

By ebs0303 |

When here with my family, and was pleasantly surprised. The risotto I got was very good, and my wife got a lasagna type dish that was also good, though I felt could have used a bit more flavor. They had gluten-free options for my son which was nice. The entire meal ended up being a bit pricier than I would have thought, but the food was good. We won't be back in LA for some time, so I'd have no reason to come back but would recommend it to a friend if they were in that area.

Best Italian in Westwood

By Atti Schmidt |

If you are looking for good food, great service, reasonable prices and the nicest owner greeting you when you come in, go to La Bruschetta in Westwood. I'm going there since it opened and never had a bad experience.

Excellent even in the dark!

By Taylor K |

La Bruschetta is a long-established family-run Italian restaurant in Westwood. We went there mainly on the strength of Trip Advisor reviews, and were not disappointed. Visually it is appealing in a traditional Italian way: brick walls lined with wine shelves, the lighting somewhat subdued but adequate. The noise level is perhaps a bit high at peak times; the only negative I can mention. We were seated immediately, waited upon with reasonable promptness. Our antipasto misto was interestingly varied and delicious. The wine recommended by our server, a Fritz Chardonnay, proved an excellent compliment to the meal. Before our entrees arrived, however, the power went out along the whole side of the street, plunging us into darkness! Yet the staff never missed a beat, navigating through the tables with flashlights and bringing candles. And the kitchen somehow kept on going. We ate our entrees, sea bass and veal piccata, by dim candlelight, adding to the evening's romantic atmosphere. We will not hesitate to visit La Bruschetta again.

No mistake choosing this place

By Stephen B |

La Bruschetta is our default choice, whether we have out0of town friends and want to talk, or just family and want to be treated as family. the food and service are consistently very good, the ownership remarkably attentive, the wine choices often original. And we are not alone, almost always others we know with the same familiar feeling enjoying their meal.

Great Italian food with equally good service

By BlakievanHemert |

The first impression we got was that the owner is hands on whether is be on the phone or at the front door. He is passionate and concerned about all customers being satisfied and seemingly dedicated to making it such. The menu was creative and vast. The courses were served with timing in mind. The dining room is more formal although the dress code is casual. They are wine savvy with decent stemware and decanters which we used extensively. There's a lot of heart here which around food and service translates into a good thing. I highly recommend this for all who enjoy fine Italian cuisine.

BEST ITALIAN

By Atti S |

Still one of the best and nicest Italian restaurants on the Westside of LA, friendly service, fair prices and always a pleasure to dine there.

Excellent food and service

By NCtoNY |

Excellent food! Good wine selection, very good service. Pricey though. Three people, over $200. Owner stopped by to check on us as well as waiters. Recommend it highly.

Very, Very Pleasant Meal

By omc3 |

Had a craving for good Lasagna and decided to give La Bruschetta a try. Not at all disappointed. My Lasagna Bolognese was fantastic! The salad with the pear was one of the best salad's that I have had in a very long time. The service was excellent - friendly and attentive and the room is very nice.

Great food Lousy service-

By Judith A |

A lovely evening with friends who chose to eat here on a Saturday evening. Nice ambience, interesting regular menu and specials. All going well until we ordered and asked for separate checks. Not possible-NO! What is this about? I thought restaurants were to meet customer service and requests! ordered food, one hour and 20 minutes later, entree arrived, cold . So hungry by then only one person sent their meal back. Too many other choices in this city and on this street to tolerate this this attitude and service.

Overpriced but decent menu. Service is excellent!

Pleasant Unpretentious Italian

By Bro44 |

We were taken here for dinner by friends who live nearby. It’s a fairly small restaurant with simple but contemporary deco. The menu has all of the Italian favourites and isn’t too complicated. The wine selection is simple too. I had a capraise salad followed by a very European style lasagna which was very tasty. Through the whole meal service was friendly and attentive. Recommended

FOR EVERY OCCASION

By Stephen B |

This special restaurant has all that one could ask for: welcoming hosts, Angelo and Robert; excellent food and select wines; great service, and a warm atmosphere, wherey you can actually speak and be heard. We have been there for family dinners, celebrations, out-of town company, and intimate twosomes. No wonder the locals show such loyalty and appreciation!

Great Ambiance great service and good food

By Caroline A |

We just came home from going across Canada and it was my birthday. So we went to this restaurant early in the evening. The food was very good, the service great and the waiter figured out that it was my birthday without being told so the bonus was a very very small square of teramisou which was excellent. I highly advocate for this restaurant. The cost was acceptable, it is not a noisy place and it was very comfortable. I have been in rediculously great off the wall restaurant otherwise I would say this was the best, but it comes to the near best.

Quiet and comfortable

By claire50 |

A nice quiet pleasant place where you can carry on a conversation with everyone at the table, getting harder and harder to find places like this. Good service from experienced staff. Bruschetta toasts with tomato and garlic served right away and tasty. Excellent desserts apparently made on site. Good coffee. My main course (fish) was just OK. But I would go back and try something else because others at the table enjoyed their choices.

Good and recommended restaurant

By Jessysocal_Traveller |

I had invited my mom and her husband for a family dinner in that restaurant because I love italian food. The restaurant appearance and atmosphere is really nice cosy and perfect for an intimate dinner. It is recommanded to reserve because it can be full really quickly. The staff is really professional and welcoming. We have chosen different dishes and can tell u that all of us were perfectly cooked. The wine Cabernet was just perfect. I will save this place address for further visit.....

Awesome Westwood L.A Italian Dinner

By Nicki McKenzie |

This place was easily worth the walk from our hotel in Wilshire Blvd. down into Westwood. Small, unassuming and in a shopping/restaurant street in a mainly residential neighbourhood. We booked via ‘Opentable’ on the day - staff were perfect - polite, attentive, great recommendations. You get a nice Bruschetta appetiser for free. We had the cheese and meats starter which came with lots of nuts and fruits and was really tasty and well presented. Mains and wine were also really well paired and both the cannelloni and risotto tasted excellent. Probably our best Honeymoon Italian across three states and three cities. Couldn’t recommend enough.

A very Nice Neighborhood Family Owned Resturant-with Good Hot Food & Smiling Faces

By JBjeffreyl |

This is the type of place you like going to because it is predictable- everything on the menu and what they will do for you with Chef Specials, and acomidationg special requests and needs- makes it special- This place is worthy of your continued support if you live in the area or are visiting and want a nice, calm, not to loud place to eat-

Molto Bene

By foodaspoetry |

Haven't visited any of my old favorite Italian Restaurants in Los Angeles lately, most of which are in the more crowded and traffic ridden parts of town. Kept my fingers crossed that La Bruschetta Ristorante would be as fabulous as the restaurant in Montecito that it reminded me of and that the Italian owners were Italian born. Not sure if they are. The atmosphere was good. . . and the food was good as well---though not AS good as other central/northern California choices. . .But this place was certainly worth going back to try additional dishes---the gentleman said it would not be a problem to cook off-menu pasta sauces, like Penne Vodka. For our meal, our very nice pasta - Linguine al Gamberoni - was made more spicey. . . at our request. . .although it was sad to see only 4 or maybe 5 shrimp on the otherwise large plate for the price they were charging. The Insalata Tres Colore was very nicely prepared as well. Hoping future visits are even better and hoping I haven't been spoiled by years either in Italy or California with real Italians doing the cooking. Enjoy!

Excellent food, but small portions

By svrh4463 |

La Bruschetta is an established restaurant on Westwood Blvd and has a very loyal clientele. I've had dinner here several times with my aunt and older relatives who have been visiting this restaurant for more than a decade. The owner is friendly and makes them feel very welcome, like regulars, but the service is slow and the portions are very small for the price. The food is excellent and it is authentic Italian, but just be prepared for small portions - I was still hungry after ordering risotto with mushrooms and peas as a main course. The food was hot, clearly had been made to order and very tasty. So, the main complaint with this restaurant is the high price for the size of the dishes. If you are OK with that, definitely check it out.
