Six good friends enjoyed a great evening. We shared the "VIP" Tray and the "Whole Enchilada" plus gueso and guac (made at the table) which was more than enough for all of us. The service was very attentive -- taking care of every request quickly. All ate for about $30 per couple plus tip. Is becoming a yearly trip before Christmas for our little group.

After our dinner plans fell through my husband pulled in and said let try it. I'm glad we did. Great customer service. Fajitas were great (only complaint is that they skimmed on the shrimp) and my husband got The Whole Enchilada Plate (That ended up making the to go meal a full meal for tomorrow). Dessert we could have passed on, good, but not the place I would always want dessert. Go!

First timer that couldn't figure out if it was Texan (i.e., steaks, CFS) place or Mexican (i.e., fajitas, enchiladas). The décor was a mixture of both, with a bit of mountain cabin thrown in. Anyways, the food, we shared a plate of beef fajitas - for the sake of taste, they substituted tenderness (you could cut the meat with a fork). Grilled onions, with two pieces of green pepper served with the meat. The stuffed jalapenos were good though. Just too expensive and not enough taste to warrant a return visit.

I love this place. I find myself trying to eat the food so slowly as if to memorize how it tastes. WELL WORTH THE WAIT on a Friday night. The fajita beef cannot be beat and the smokey taste of the salsa is wonderful.

My wife and I got the fajitas combo (steak and chicken) for two. The steak and chicken were flavorful, tender, and not dry, but the what makes this place special are the handmade corn tortillas. I'm usefully not a fan for corn tortillas but these were excellent and definitely added to the meal. Our server was very friend but was MIA when we needed a refill of tortillas. It's moderately priced, but obviously marked up a bit. After all they need to be able to afford TVs on the bathroom stalls and all the (real) stuffed animals on the walls!

We made a visit with few family members to La Hacienda. I'm a bit obsessed with tex mex restaurants but not too impressed. Ambience and service: fantastic. Ambience is in rugged Mexican style which is very unique and the service is good. Price: I felt the restaurant is very pricey. Few dishes costed around 24 dollars which is very pricey for what is in that plate. Dishes: Texas Parpedos Chicken Fajita queasdillas Spicy chicken blackened Verde Hacienda chicken ranch La Ha ranch. The top two dishes were fantastic as starters but not the mains. I'm unsure how a proper texmex dishes look or taste like. But given I'm very experienced in cooking and a big foodie, don't think this restaurant or the dishes impressed me. There is loads of stuff on the plate but don't think everything has been put well. Overall I wouldnt visit it again as I felt it is very expensive for what we got.

The food was really good. I got brisket tacos and a margarita and it was good. Not sure about pricing. Most other restaurants similar to this one are much cheaper.

This salsa is the best I've ever had. They roast the tomatoes and peppers which gives it a great smoky flavor. I also got the combination fajitas that our waiter recommended, and the steak was absolutely fantastic!

The entree’s are a pricy, but I ordered the cheese enchiladas and they were delicious. The charo beans were very good and the fire roasted salsa was excellent. The service was great and the food came out fast.

Did delivery and it was a bit delayed, we think the driver went to the wrong location. Overall the mixed fajitas were delicious however, we did not get tortillas! The bag wasn’t sealed so don’t know if it was the fault of the restaurant or driver! I loved that we got both of their delicious salsas and chips with the dinner. Would order again!

we were looking for a family restaurant that has high quality meat . we came for the first time to la hacienda with not great expectations but we were surprised and astonished at the high level of dishes they had. we focused on the Fahchitas. and asked that instead of shrimps and chicken we get extra beef. The beef just melts in your mouth . we were so pleased that we visited the place again after a few days. The service was just amazing , we had the best waitress ever. i cant remember her name but she is originally from Romania. the price for a family size Fahchitas was around $80, this was more than enough for 6 hungry people.

Houston you have landed! Houston was our server, an absolute delight. He liked his job, attentive to our needs, made us feel very welcome. The food at La Hacienda is always amazing, only place I will eat beef, really, you can count that every bite is delicious and generous portions. Houston made this visit exceptional..

This is one of my favorite Tex Mex restaurants. Service and food are always consistently good. Usually get Queso Mariano as appetizer, which is very good. I've tried quite a few entrees and they have all been good including the beef fajitas (which are a little bit better than the chicken). Nachos are good as appetizer or even a meal. The apple dessert they have is also very good but too much for one person (unless you ate very light). Mariano Margarita is excellent!

We go there almost every Sunday evening. Great steak dinner at an affordable price. Frozen margaritas are still the best. Service is always attentive. We love this place.

We met friends at La Hacienda Ranch and it was our first visit but our friends eat there fairly often. Service was exceptional and the dinner was very good. We had queso and chips as well as guacamole and chips for an appetizer and they were both very tasty. The guac was freshly made at the table and our server was adept and conscientious. We split the brisket tacos which came with four tacos, beans, rice and toppings. The entire meal was vey good and it seemed everyone at the table enjoyed their meals as well. All looked very appetizing and the servings are quite generous.

I got the Gringo Enchilada Plate, which was very good. I would definitely order again. My husband & brother-n-law were quite happy with their beef fajatas. The atmosphere was pleasing and the service could not have been any better. Located very convientiently in far North Dallas right on much-traveled Preston Rd

On the way to DFW for our trip home. Great Tex-Mex food at reasonable prices. Drinks were nicely prepared and server was attentive and not overly pushy. If you like brisket then you’ll love their quesadilla with guacamole. Definitely a stop before your flight or a first taste upon arrival especially if you’re getting off of a Spirit flight.

I noticed the restaurant as I drove down the road and was able to smell wood burning... which made me hungry. Visiting for lunch, I ordered the "mini fajitas" which is the lunch size portion of the meal. Even for lunch I was shocked it was nearly $14. In many places your dinner portion is that price or less. The service was prompt and generally the staff was polite, however my server in particular was not too talkative. The food itself was mediocre, nothing different from what I have had at the chain restaurants like On the Border and Don Pablo's. This restaurant would not be my first choice and while in the Dallas area I will probably not go back. They do serve steaks, so I wonder if they are any better. However, I fear looking at the prices seeing simple fajitas were so expensive.

Great place for drinks, food and some of the BEST steak fajitas we've had. All the drinks both frozen and on the rocks are great. We shared an app and fajtas for 2 which was more then enough food. Thet have a nice side patio but it very hot right no so no sitting outdoors lol. If you haven't been chk it out well worth it all.

The best food in Dallas. The Mexican food was awesome....but the steak was the best we have ever eaten. The servers are great and keep your drinks full!

We were visiting friends who recommended La Hacienda for a taste of good tex-next food. The chicken fajitas were certainly very good, as were the steaks. It was very busy mid-week but our order was taken quickly and we did not wait long for food. The Margarita was also excellent. We’re hoping to get there again before we go back home.

Best steak fajitas we have ever had... really tender and juicy! The service was also outstanding and our party of 6 had an amazing night...bummed we don't have this restaurant where we live as it would be a regular visit!!

This is one of the best Tex-Mex restaurants I have been. The food was excellent. I had the Steak fajita and oh my goodness cant even describe the feeling. Soft and well seasoned. My fried had the soft brisket tacos and was great. the sangria was perfect. Awesome place. I am going back tonight. Love it.

As a tourist you have expectations , La Hacienda did not disapoint . Good food , friendly service great atmosphere.

The portions were very generous and the food flavorful. The atmosphere was relaxed and laid back. The service was excellent. We ordered queso as well and that was a little thin, but still tasty as was the salsa. Overall, very satisfied, would highly recommend.

I used to visit this restaurant when I lived in Plano years ago. I remember it as being a good place to eat. I met a friend for lunch. The lunch menu was very limited. I settled on a pork tamale, beef taco that comes with rice and beans. The taste was okay. The portions were pretty small for the large price. $12.72 for a skimpy lunch and a coke. We sat on the patio an our waiter was nice and quick to bring me a second coke. My friend's coffee cup was never refilled, nor was she asked if she wanted a refill. We sat on the patio which unfortunately we had to share with lots of flies. The patio chairs were hard an uncomfortable. I will not be visiting this location again. I do plan to go back to the location in Frisco and hope that my experience there will be better. I gave them a star for pretty good service and a star for the atmosphere.

Food was very good atmosphere is a little different more of a steak house more than Mexican food love everything I had will return again

This place has a great athmosphere. The food is good, and they have great margaritas. The service is also good. Worth a visit

My SUV automatically pulled into this establishment off of Preston Rd and parked for me, knowingly that I was Jonesing for some top-notch TexMex. Living in the Washington DC area for the past 10 months has left me with the pangs of coming back home. (Yes, I am a Texan). It was no mistake coming to La Hacienda. I prompty sat at the bar, ordered a margarita, sin sal (no salt) and ordered the HACIENDA RANCH CHICKEN. The plate was huuuuge, along with the serving. Priced at $16 and it was an extreme value. Actually enough to have as another meal later. The smokey taste to the chicken was outstanding. The cheese was overflowing, and it was just what I was hoping for. I made my own flour wrapped tortillas of this succulent dish .... and was beaming proudly. I'm sure glad I came here. I will be back in a few days.

My family loves this place. I had the tamales and the chili sauce on top was to die for. My wife loves the smoked chicken in the fajitas. The salsa is served warm which takes some getting used too, but the flavor is great and the chips are excellent. The service was fantastic the night we visited, and the margaritas while pricey were delicious.

I travel to the DFW area often. This La Hacienda on Preston and the one in Colleyville is always great. Any of the mesquite grill fajitas or steaks are excellent. They cook them medium to medium rare, and they rust about melt in your mouth. The shrimp dishes are also good. Try the appetizer that has cheese queso with guacamole and beef. All of it is very tasty. The margaritas are good also. The restaurant claims to be the first to have frozen margarita machines. I don't know if this is true. But they are good.

It's started off great, but quickly declined. Our server was always missing something and very inefficient. When he brought the queso and tortillas, we had no plates. He brought fajitas with no set up. He never asked us if we needed anything as he would walk by our table 10 times. I felt we were constantly asking him for things that should be routinely asked about by the waiter. It was frustrating. I ordered a meal to take home to my husband and he brought out the 3 to-go boxes out without a bag. At this point I was tired of asking for things so I let it be. Too much effort for me to eat here. I should have tipped myself!

Hacienda Ranch can always be counted on for good quality, reasonably priced food and this visit was no exception. Their chips and salsa are always very good and light on the frying. The chicken fajitas are a staple and we have never had a bad meal,

The Chicken Lite fajitas is our go-to dish here. Always consistently good. Grilled veggies and a side salad is a nice departure from most Tex-Mex places. Rice is pilaf-style which again is a nice difference. Skinny-Rita is usually strong and refreshing (on the tart side, as I prefer.)

The steak had the best wood fire grilled and smoked tastes I have found. Skip everything else... The. Steak cut wasn't worth the menu price and everything else was average.

My experience here has been excellent tasting food but not always good service. That changed Friday night. We were seated fairly quickly, drinks and chips arrived promptly and dinner was on the table in what appeared to be record time and it tasted great.

We had nachos, fajita feast for 2 (stingy with shrimp and not much steak/chicken), fish tacos (1 tiny slab of fish in each), cowboy queso, 2 drinks and we paid $163, then $30 for a tip. That is robbery. I mean the food is good, but not that good. My husband loves it, so I guess we'll keep going, but I won't be happy about it.

This is a great place to take out of town visitors to give them an authentic Tex Mex experience. This is also the home of the original frozen margarita and they have plenty of awesome margaritas to choose from. My kids love coming here and having their amazing fajitas. Service is always friendly and attentive.

New to the area wanted to experience the local flavor. This was the perfect choice!!! The staff was awesome, funny, nice and on the ball. We sampled some of the special drinks and wow. The salsa was amazing!! They have a spicy version if you ask. And we got the table side guacamole. Fantastic!! This will definitely be our new go to place!!

Service is good, the ambiance is great, the food is excellent and overall experience is superb. Prices are affordable and even though is not a high-end place, you will like it is. The food is a Tex-Mex style.

We had a nice dinner with very good service at La Hacienda. Nothing extraordinary but good fresh food in a good atmosphere !

Wife and I came for our first visit with a group of couples from work. Several of then had raved about how great it was. I have to agree now that I have been there. Great and friendly service, huge portions, and lot's of fun for the team. Large place and they can serve a lot of people. We were there on a weeknight and were able to really enjoy the atmosphere. We plan to come back.

Great food, comfortable atmosphere, generous drinks and a staff and management that cares. Consistently good for. Large variety of choices on the menu. The originator of frozen margaritas.

This is not my first visit here. Food is always delicious and service is great. A little pricey but worth it. My company also frequently uses the catering from here and is always spot on. Typically we get the chicken fajita salad bar when catering. Highly recommend.

I love this place and even though I have not included a recent review, we have been here several times since my earlier review. The food is very good and the service equally as good. I like the smoked salsa however sometimes we eat fro a coupe that does not necessarily acre for the smoked salsa. The chips are warm and good. Now for the real food. There are steaks but we seldom order them. They are not terribly expensive but are on the high side of pricing for a Mexican restaurant, The Mexican food is delicious and you are served large portions. The place is always busy at lunch time and I suspect a lot of those customers are employees from the large State Farm complex just across the street. When State Farm opens their new campus several miles away in the next few months, this will definitely reflect on this restaurant. In the meantime they enjoy almost full house seating at every lunch setting.

When I travel to Texas, I try to find time to visit one or two Tex-mex restaurants. By chance, we stopped at the La Hacienda Ranch for lunch on our way to a vendor meeting. You can smell the food cooking before you enter the restaurant, which always kick starts my appetite. The hostess was friendly and greeted us with a big smile. Within a few minutes, the waitress was at our table requesting our drink order. Another person delivered a basket of warm chips and individual salsa dishes for each person at the table. Up here in the upper mid-west, the restaurants bring a single salsa dish that everyone at the table fights over. We placed our order and received our food in a short time. I ordered a combination meal, which arrived just as I expected. The food was well-prepared and met my taste and favor needs. I had more than enough food to carry me through the afternoon. I thought the prices were reasonable. The food and service were also good. I added this restaurant to my visit again list when in the Dallas area. PS: The fireplace makes for a warm atmosphere on those chilly winter days.

The Rib eye here is excellent, a great cut of meat, prepared perfectly. My son had this and said he thought it was great and would rate it 4/5. The Brisket Taco plate is plentiful. With 4 medium sized brisket tacos accompanied by yellow rice, retried beans, and chopped lettuce & tomatoes it is enough to fulfill even with he hungriest of appetites. I had this and rated this plate 5/5 for both presentation and tastiness. My wife fried apple pie with ice cream. Yes, as an entree. She said it was terrific, and too much for one person, so I had to help her out. I agree with her assessment. Hugo waited on us, and he was excellent. In Spite of how good the food and service was, we only rated the place an overall 4/5 rating due to the prices being significantly higher than comparable Plano area offerings I.E. Brisket Tacos 17.00 here vs 11.95 at 2 different Tex-Mex restaurants within 3 miles of here. The fried apple pie ala mode was 12.00. I have been here 4 times in the last two years vs over 20 times at the other places combined, specifically because their prices are much more reasonable for extremely good Tex-Mex

The food was a little pricey, but definitely worth it. The staff was very courteous and friendly! I recommend this place to anyone looking to sit down and have a nice dinner.

I have been going to this location for years, I suspect today was my last trip. Had lunch at the ranch where the lunch special fajitas had 4 pieces of meat, a half of a dish of rice, almost enough side dressing for one serving and still costs over $15. Slow service did not help either. I noticed crowds were much smaller and I suspect its the new cost for tiny amounts of food that is the problem

I have only had their fajitas, but oh my gosh they were good! We were at a birthday party and it was catered by La Hacienda Ranch. Yum!

Great BBQ food, loud service is good, once u come out of the restaurant, u will be smelling of BBQ!!!

Prices are pretty high for what you get. Huge portion. I’d rather pay less and not get so much food. I had the Spanish enchiladas. The chicken was boiled and diced. The verde cream sauce was not that great. The roasted veggies were the best part. I had the jalapeño appetizer. No different than poppers from a fast food restaurant. Overall not that awesome. Probably won’t be going back. Maybe good if you’re from the north and don’t know any better.

I have eaten here many times. My service has always been excellent and I like the atmosphere and the food is well above average. I have eaten may items on the menu and I have never had a bad meal. I would highly suggest this place. I have even been here for a large event(wedding party) and the set up was excellent.

Always loved this place! Very good food (brisket tacos!). Margaritas from the machine are fun, but not a fantastic margarita from my standpoint (I like simple ones). Good service, fun ambiance/decor.

They arrived in under three minutes and that explains why they tasted totally pre made like way pre made. Soggy at best. I will never go back.

Great, many visits to ranch group, many years. Latest, Plano Frisco. For covid, they nicely have curb side. For us who get pick up to go. See many going to dine inside. Good meat, choices, fajitas, sauces, all good. Great service. We dont partake alcohol.

I have visited La Hacienda Ranch on two recent visits to Dallas. The restaurant offers both traditional Tex-Mex fare and steaks. The restaurant somehow manages to give off both a rustic and modern Texas vibe--it's very pleasant and conducive to conversation, made all the better by a friendly and efficient wait staff. On both of my visits to La Hacienda Ranch I opted for the restaurant's seven ounce Ranch Filet steak. The steak is tender and tasty--so good, in fact, that in my judgment a diner would need to go to a high-end specialty steak house to find better. My steak was accompanied by a nice garden salad and skillet potatoes, which were nice complements to the steak. Although I have not tried the "old school" Tex-Mex offerings at La Hacienda Ranch, my dining companions did. They pronounced the cheese and beef enchiladas, served with rice and beans, excellent and comparable to that found in the best Tex-Mex restaurants. I suspect that just about anyone who likes a good steak or Tex-Mex cuisine will find dining at La Hacienda Ranch a great experience. I certainly have enjoyed my visits to the restaurant, and I look forward to dining at the restaurant again when I next visit Dallas.

Had a business dinner there for 12 people following a meeting. Wait staff were attentive and friendly. Tableside Guacamole was excellent (both regular and spicy). We had the mixed appetizer plates, everything on them was great. Had the 7 oz steak, cooked correctly and very tasty. Salad was great as well, as were the Margaritas. Would return!

We like the food and especailly the smoky salsa and chips. The service was very good. The place is very busy at lunch time as it seems many of the office workers close by eat here. We stayed with the mexican food which was reasonably priced and good. They do have steaks as well.

I recently visited this restaurant with a group of coworkers when we met in Dallas for a meeting. The strawberry margarita and food was wonderful. Service was quick and efficient for a group of 12 people.

It is not everyone in this day and time who is willing to adjust the menu options in order to please the customers. Kudos to Paul for going an extra two or three miles to make my grandsons happy. He was outstanding. Food is top shelf also but service like this puts it over the top.

We came here on an off-chance at around 8pm on a Sunday evening during a recent weekend in Dallas. The food is really good, we both had different combo plates and tried each others – certainly can’t fault the food. I particularly enjoyed my crispy beef taco, which was very flavourful! The salsa is also delicious and a little different to what you usually get. I wasn’t sure entirely whether the restaurant was trying to be a steakhouse or a Mexican place – the décor / ambiance and name suggested steakhouse but the food was predominantly Mexican - but then who’s to say you can’t have a little of both in Texas?! We were, however, slightly put off by the service. Our server was fast and efficient, but not particularly happy we were there! We were among 3 other groups of patrons and while, yes, it was a quiet Sunday night, we still wanted to enjoy our meals and not be swept up around. I hate when people try to hurry you out by cleaning around you. The constant knocking sound of the broom against the dustpan, chairs and tables being moved and scraped around the floor making a racket – not to mention the dust and bits of food flying around from the sweeping and the particles of cleaning spray in the air which is positively unhygienic when people are eating! When we had barely gotten our meals our server came over to say ‘Can I get you anything else now because the kitchen and bar are about to close?’ in a rather irritated tone. This wasn’t the best. On Yelp, it said the place closes at 10pm on Sundays. This was 8.20pm. We checked. We were out of there by 8.45pm having been made to feel pretty unwelcome. He got a 10% tip rather than our usual 20%. As we were leaving, another two parties came in to the restaurant – the groans of inconvenienced frustration from staff were audible from the door. Just saying. The food is delicious - just would have enjoyed the opportunity to afford more time to eat it!

Went in for a quick lunch on Black Friday. Was greeted at the door and immediately seated. We told our server, Danielle, we were in a hurry. She was very friendly and accommodating. I ordered the soup and sidekick, taco. It was very good. I'll be back.

Great evening meal with family. Food was delicious and frozen margarita was amazing! Our waiter was lovely and very helpful. Will be going back next time we are in Dallas.

We visit about once a month for their Enchiladas. I have tried many Mexican Restaurants in North Texas and they do have the best Chips, Salsa and Enchiladas.

I liked the atmosphere of La Hacienda Ranch. It was kind of dark but still festive. We arrived at about 7:45 and seated in about 5 minutes. Though La Hacienda is a margarita bar, my husband was disappointed they didn't have any local beer available (except Shiner Bock). The room we were seated in was fine, the chips were outstanding and the salsa was delicious and different (it was coffee colored!) The brisket tacos were very yummy and we would definitely go back for more. Very filling and the meat was tender. The only issue we had is that we were seated right next to tables who were having a surprise birthday dinner. Everyone stopped eating when the tables yelled "Surprise!" and the birthday guest walked in. Happy Birthday to the recipient but La Hacienda should have an event room for this kind of thing.

Very happy with the portions of all 4 meals we ordered. 3 tacos plate contained almost a pound of ground beef. Made use of the extra salsa from the chips to spice the meal. Another of our party ordered a side salad and the chicken tortilla soup. The soup bowl a served contained over a quart of soup which was added to the chopped fresh vegetables tableside. Over half of this was taken home. Tried Papa' s margarita. The restaurant founder as the inventor the frozen margarita machine has established a reputation for customer voted BEST in Dallas. Based on the mix and smoothness this is well earned. We arrived rather late during the last hour fur the night. One issue we encountered: our waitress brought the salad and later the entrees without bringing the tableware. This glitch is not enough to keep us from returning as the rest was so well covered.

The food was delicious (loved the salsa)and the service was excellent! Our server, Paul, was very attentive.. our glasses and chip basket were always full! :)

There are literally hundreds of Tex-Mex restaurants in north Dallas. This one has been in the same location for many years. It offers traditional menus and the food quality is always good. The food is always served hot, which is a personal issue I have with many restaurants. The service is attentive and efficient. The staff is courteous and want to insure customer satisfaction. Well worth a visit when you need a Tex-Mex fix!

Known as Mariano's La Hacienda as well as La Hacienda Ranch, which is not at all confusing if you are visiting from somewhere else. What is not confusing is the food, it is really good. Endless supply of really good chips and salsa, and good drinks choices. I had the Spicy Blackened Chicken Verde, which at $19 was one of the more expensive entrees. Very flavorful, I'd get that again any time. Good service and food, and reasonable mid-range prices. Expect to spend between $20 and $30.

Standard MX fare, but did have a fish item. Salsa not memorable, chips good. Service seemed like we weren't worth their time. Wouldn't go back.

Recommended by my friends in Dallas. Restaurant was very clean and the service was impeccable. Waiter (Rodrigo) suggested the Brisket Tacos and it was a great choice. It was delicious. First trip to Dallas and the experience of eating at an authentic Tex-Mex restaurant was a highlight of my trip. Thank you!

Hubby and I were able to be seated immediately on a wet and cold Valentine's Day with no reservation. Our waiter seemed to have low energy, but did take care of refills on drinks and chips. We both ordered chicken tortilla soup, which was very flavorful and plentiful. The only criticism we found is that the prices are a little high. $8.5 for plain queso and $11 for each bowl of soup. Seems like we can get a better value than $30+ for a soup dinner.

Oh my gosh. So good! Get the fajitas, the way they cook them and the marinade make all the difference! You will love them! The drinks were amazing too!

I I have been eating here for years. Some of the best fajitas in the area. I will tell you, they have dropped the portion size to maybe 4 to 6 ounces of meat while continuing to go up in price. The rice and beans are nothing to write home about. I understand inflation. But food and tip at $60 for a single order of beef fajitas and 1 margarita is getting a little over the top. Especially for 4 to 6 ounces of meat. Oh well, there are plenty of other options that are very good out there.

My hub and I do not go here often but it is in our neighborhood. Their food is somewhat different. It has a smokey flavor which I just don't like. I will get the sour cream chicken enchiladas, all rice and no beans. This is safe for me and tastes pretty darn good. Service is always good here.

I go to La Hacienda Ranch primarily for their tamales. It is often very difficult to find really good tamales. I also love their salsa. It has a unique taste that is so pleasing! If you are a tamale lover, I highly recommend La Hacienda Ranch.

Great food, courteous service and a comfortable decor make for a perfect lunch destination. A relaxing atmosphere for a business lunch. Attentive service by a knowledgeable staff.

Well once again Tex Mex done right again at this local Texas chain, had dinner with appetizer plate and probably should have just stopped at the appetizer, very crowded, very busy, priced reasonable for area and quality of food,

We went to the original location in Frisco from the year we moved to Texas 1986.... Long before the mall and all the chain restaurants were build in Frisco. The location on Preston does a very good job of representing the brand. The waitstaff will take care of you, and the food is well made and well presented. You won't be disappointed with our visit, whether for lunch or dinner.

Mariano Martinez perfected the Margarita and it shows at this restaurant. You must try the Signature "Mariano". No cheap tequila in this one! They use top quality beef for their fajitas and nachos and stand alone steaks. We take our 9 year old Grandson who says, "I'll have my usual"! (Fajita nachos medium rare and a Root Beer). Decor a bit "cheesy" but we love it~

I really like La Hacienda and their catering is top notch. Their queso is delicious and I love their brisket tacos. The atmosphere is very lively and a lot of fun, great for groups!

We had my brother's rehearsal dinner at La Hacienda Ranch Friday night, and it was perfect!!! The staff was so accomodating and pleasant. The food was wonderful, and the atmosphere in Papa's room was perfect for a casual rehearsal dinner. We could not have asked for anything more!

Went here for a business lunch because our local host raved about the steak fajitas. Tried them & was really impressed on how tender the steak was - no knife required. We also shared the guacamole that was prepared table side. It was delicious. Service was superb as well. They have daily lunch specials so you can try some flavorful food at a very reasonable price. Definitely a must try if you’re In Dallas.

My daughter lives in Dallas and was pretty excited to take us here. I had just recently seen an episode on TV about the inventor of the frozen margarita and was eager to eat here. We started with some interesting adult beverages but unfortunately they weren't as good as the price would suggest. I don't mind paying $15 for a margarita but it better be awesome and a bit on the larger side. Mine was neither. The food was typical tex-mex but nothing really stood out other than the enormous portion size. I did appreciate the patio seating. I was it had blown my socks off but I guess inventing the frozen margarita was the end of the creativity.

In typical Dallas fashion, La Hacienda Ranch is mucho show with very little substance to back it up. From the moment you walk through the old-time wooden doors, the sights and smells overwhelm the senses in a preview of what is to come. That is where the anticipation took a downward spiral. Our waiter recommended the premier handshaken margarita...at $14 a glass (sized just over the size of a standard juice glass). We asked if we could have top shelf silver tequila in lieu of the premium aged brown. They said yes. When the drink arrived, well lets say it tasted like straight tequila with a hint of lime and a lot of ice. Of course, it certainly lessened the inhibitions and cleansed the palate for our upcoming fajita meal. We tried another margarita from the menu, one they claimed to be 'sweeter' but it too was 99% tequila. The corn tortillas were really good. The flour tortillas, also primo. The meat, nothing spectacular but it was tender. However, for the price, a much better quality fajita meat could be found in Texas. The condiments were no more than bagged cheese and basic sour cream sprinkled with red pepper. The pico was tasty. Chips and salsa were amazing. Beans and cheese were flat and flavorless. The rice, also without flavor. Service was also fairly flat. Our waitress spilled my father's drink on him. Another waiter snapped at my family as we waited at the window, watching for the rest of my party to arrive. Overall, the food was overpriced, the drinks resembled straight tequila on ice and the service was marginal. You definitely pay for the exterior brick and mortar.

Being a native Texan, I've eaten at many Mexican restaurants. But, La Hacienda Ranch is hands down one of the best. I went with friends and family(7 people in all- dinner). Our waiter was very polite and gracious. I was, originally, going to go with a salad but the Hacienda Ranch Chicken sounded too good to pass up. Thank the Good Lord I didn't! This was the most well prepared, delicious, and satisfying plate of holy chicken I have ever had. No wonder it's on the Favorites part of the menu! I highly recommend this restaurant for its hospitality, excellent food, and wonderful drinks! Ps: if you haven't guessed already, the appetizers are also divine :)

the salsas are delicious; but the prices are too high for the value of the food that is just okay. The guacamole is freshly prepared and one of the few things that I will eat there. Everything else is just average and nothing special. The service is also just okay, nothing good, nothing bad.

The restaurant looks interesting from the outside, but is very loud and crowded inside. The dark atmosphere partially covers up for some of the burned food which exhibits hints of charcoal. DO yourself a favor and drive 100 yards further to the Afghan Grill, more value and better food.

The atmosphere and vibe at La Hacienda is great and very impressive. However, the food is bland and dull. I had chicken enchiladas and very under impressed. Service was good considering I was with a large party. However, the waitress completely forgot my order and only when I asked about my food did the waitress realize that she never even wrote down my order!

Place looks like something a New York native would think the old west looked like, both inside and out. Kitsch does not even begin to describe it. It's fun and sill at the same time. Now as to the food, WOW! We were amazed how good everything was. Chips are thin and crisp, and the hot sauce amazing. I believe we could have eaten it with a spoon. The sauce is made in house with smoked tomatoes. Fajitas were also really good and the queso that came with them was very good as well. We kept it on the side to use as we wanted. It can be poured over the fajitas, but that was not an option we preferred. Order for 1 was large enough to share between two adults no problem. Pablano pepper al carbon was great as well. It was a roasted pepper stuffed with grilled chicken and cheese. Amazing combination and much lighter than expected. It came with a cheese enchilada, rice, beans and guacamole. Plate was easily big enough to share. Last item we tried was the Fajitas Salad. Very large salad with grilled flank steak. Great size and flavor. Finally don't miss the Margarita's. They have five or six house specialties. We tried three of them and all were great, just a little expensive. The Fire and Ice version includes Jalapeños. It was really good. Don't think you could go wrong with any item on their menu. Just ignore the bear as you walk in. He won't bite.

Great food and service await you. Nice atmosphere, cool air conditioning and prompt seating. Great Tex Mex, tasty chips and salsa and awesome margaritas. Don't forget the steaks too.

Very tasty Tex-Mex offerings. The salsa is a dark, roasted salsa - very good. The bean options in place of the standard refried beans were very tasty. The service was very fast on this weekday late lunch. Very generous with chips and salsa even providing a huge extra portion of the salsa in the too go box. Too hot to try the outdoor seating.

So, my sister and I went here for her birthday celebration. The cocktails were made to perfection, the chips were light and airy with a perfectly matched, smoky-charred salsa, the service was beyond expections (THANKS CHRIS!)....and the entrees abundant! We both ordered the same thing, Hacienda Ranch Chicken. Niether of us could finish our dinner prompting the request for to-go boxes! In hindsight, we could've easliy shared once entree. But who knew!?!?! The last thing was truly a lasting impression. Their to-go packaging is out of this world! I know, sound a bit nuts, but the containers were more than well-considered! The chips bag had a solid bottom and a wire-tie closure that kept them fresh for several days. Their salsa came in a reusable, sturdy plastic container and the to-go bag....fabric handles and another enforced bottom to keep containers in place. Wow! Well-worth the visit. They also have a lovely patio with super-cool, pin-prick metal lanterns next to a large tree that has been meticulously adorned with thousands of tiny white lights!!!! Gorgeous! What a great setting for a cooler autumn evening. We will DEFINTLEY be back here! Next time, we're sitting on the patio!

guacamole prepared fresh and the table. Great. The rest of the food we ordered was bland and not up to usual standards. Waiter was very friendly.

I was in Dallas for work and my colleagues brought me here as they recommend it. The food was lovely Mexican cuisine. I had fajita quesadillas which were delicious. The marguerites were lovely and quite strong.

The décor is excellent and the food is very good. The tableside guacamole was excellent. The Whole Enchilada entrée is HUGE, but delicious.

This is a family friendly restaurant with wonderful food, and the service is fast. Wait staff is friendly and accommodating.

My coworkers and I decided to give this place a shot, not knowing what we were getting into. Great choice. We had a gem of a waitress. We started with drinks and table side guacamole and their queso. Both were great. I had the chicken fajitas for one, coworker had steak fajita for one and the third had the taco salad. Everything was delicious. I will return here when back in Dallas for my Mexican craving. Enjoy.

The beef fajitas and the chips and salsa here are AMAZING! Love this place. Great waiters and atmosphere.

Went there for lunch with 4 other people. Seated quickly, but one of the 4 was running late. We felt a bit rushed because the server knew one of our people had not shown yet but kept inquiring about ordering. We did order the queso dip which was very good. The last person showed and we finally ordered our meal. I had beef fajitas for one which was a good portion of food. But very small amount of cheese and guac to accompany the amount of meat and veggies I received. Others had the cobb salad- nice big portion, the chicken enchiladas (which he really liked) and 2 got the brisket quesadilla which both seemed happy with. I did not enjoy the beans and rice that came with my meal but the others seemed to. All in all good experience and I would go back. Especially for the queso dip!

We tend to be repeat customers of this place. Food is always good and the drinks even better. It can be a little pricier than some restaurants, but the value is there. Decoration make you think you are in an odd steak restaurant on the frontier somewhere. Very unique, let's just leave it at that. It's a place you have to see to believe.

This was our second visit to this location, and it was still just as amazing if not better. My mom and I have lighter appetites, so we shared the steak fajitas and table-side guacamole. Once you load up on all the amazing fire-roasted salsa which is cooked on the wood grill with the steak, you'll be full. Whatever you get, make sure it has steak in it because it's wonderful! Our waiter was super nice and attentive, and he even sent some salsa home with us. This really has become my favorite place to go when we visit Dallas.

Great atmosphere, very Tex Mex, with servers dressed like cowhands. Decor is very interesting ranch style. We have been here many times now and always make it a stop when in Plano. I usually get a burito and can not ever finish it , the portions are extremely generous. The Fajitos are excellent too. Highly recommended for a fun place to go. Service has always been spot on too.

Service was okay but he said his name was going to be " ". So what was it when he waited on us? Drinks are highly overpriced with way too much ice. My husband ordered the LaHa shrimp which had absolutely no flavour. He even tried squeezing lemon on them and dipping in butter to no avail. Our tab was $97 which is too high for what we had. Disappointed.....

Went for a quick lunch with some work colleagues. Nice chips and very good salsa to start. I chose the Brisket Tacos - a serve of three, among a full plate of a chilli filled shell, some beans and salad. Good value for money, but most importantly really tasty.

came her for a group Christmas party, so my experience may be different than those that just came in for regular dining. Our group had taquitos, quesadillas, and fried stuffed jalapenos for our food that was served buffet style. The food was ok, nothing really special. There was hot queso and salsa on each table, and both of those were ok as well. Perhaps it is better food for sitting down, but the buffet food we received didn't do much for me at all. For our group (we had around 70 people), the wait staff was what excelled. We are a pretty rowdy bunch when we get together, which is why we requested the large meeting room. My waitress never once missed my drink order, and always seemed to find me right as my drink was getting low, despite my location in the room (I was moving and talking alot). When my bill came, it was spot on. I was happy to leave a nice tip for her and was impressed with the level of service I received.

Delicious! Delicious! Delicious! I love steak fajitas. I’ve eaten them across the country, but this was the most tender steak I’ve ever enjoyed. La Hacienda Ranch restaurant was the complete dining experience: delicious food, excellent service (thank you Jordan), tasty margaritas and Tex-Mex decor. Even the manager introduced herself (nice meeting you Sarah) to check on my visit. A very filing lunch is around $20. Adding cocktails can double you bill. Well worth a pleasant dining experience.

Food was amazing. Service was great. They were very attentive. We had a group of 9, so I'm always impressed when service is good with a large group. Food melted in your mouth. It was delicious. 😉

Always a stop when I travel to Dallas with great atmosphere, great service, and great food. Though tempted by many appealing offerings on the menu, I consistently choose the Combo Fajitas. The portions are generous and the meat is as tender as some filets I have had and the chicken is moist and grilled to perfection. I would suggest staying with the flour tortillas since the corn ones are very thin and do not always stand up to the fillings.

I still dream of this place... seriously delicious food... all of it!!! The chips and salsa are so smoky and delicious. Everything we ate was SO GOOD! If I am ever back in Dallas, this restaurant will be the first stop on my list. Highly Recommend!!! And ask for Tony... he was an excellent server and gave us tons of great info about La Hacienda and the city! My mouth is watering typing this...

We had a large group and had a room all to ourselves with 2 waiters. The food was amazing and the drinks were delicious! Definitely plan on returning in the NEAR future! Best guacamole EVER!!

Unexpected surprise. Excellent stuff.....had brisket tacos...were absolutely excellent. Side order of steak nachos were less than desired probably because they werent smothered by sour cream. This place is the home of the frozen marguerita. Good stuff

We are from Ohio down for a wedding. The rehearsal dinner was in A large private room in back. Great Tex Med decor and the food was terrific. Fajitas and enchiladas. The chips and salsa were great. The staff was very accommodating and were happy to serve. Very pleased!
Valentine's eve dinner
Stopped by to have a special valentine's eve dinner at this fine mexican dinning place. The decor was great and the grizzly bear in the entry way scare my wife and i got a chuckle. The service and the food was just average though and we were a lil disappointed.
