Perfecto para el almuerzo

By CarettaChick |

Perfect for lunch. I often meet friends here for the $5.99 lunch special! Service has never failed to please. Always seated right away, chips n salsa delivered automatically, and check handed to you before you can even ask. Makes for a speedy weekday lunch. We have visited for supper, as well, and felt the above comments hold true.

Autentico

By Cowboy10210 |

This place is very authentic. I am of Hispanic descent and was very impressed by the flavor and quality. Manager came out and greeted us, the server was friendly and attentive. Even when I asked for something that was a bit more "home cooked" (chile verde) that was not in the menu he offered to attempt to make something close instead of brushing it off. Guacamole was made in front of me, nice touch, and very delicious. Would definitely return.

Still good

By Lela1954 |

La Parilla at Toco Hills recently changed their menu and now have a new lunch menu. My favorite is gone off both lunch and dinner menu as it seems they have down scaled a bit. They still have the best table side guacamole but, I say if it ain't broke....

Decent food

By Paradise7577 |

Stopped by to grab some lunch after a doctor's appointment the food was brought out really quick and it was pretty average but quick.

Reasonably Priced Mexican Foo

By BTM148 |

We recently ate at this restaurant for dinner. We both had the burritos and were pleased with the service and the food. We were there around 5 p.m., which was early for the dinner crowd. This restaurant is located in a shopping center in my neighborhood in which there are about a half dozen restaurants. There are families eating there, and there is also a bar area. It was a pleasant experience. I would suggest arriving early for dinner before there is a crowd.

Yummy Mexican Foods!!

By SFisher |

Delicious food, was addicted to cheese dip once I had it. Fish tacos soo good. Oh, they are happy to modify your order to whatever you like. Never a bad attitude. We've been back several times. Beef tip burrito is one of our favorites.

Best Mexican I've Ever Had

By Mrs.Walker |

I was in town visiting six flags and came across this stop. I ordered togo which I normally hate doing, but everything was surprisingly good. I thought the food would have no flavor based off looks, but that wasn't the case at all. I ordered the chicken fajitas with queso and everything was good. The salsa had a little spice to it as well which was good! Anytime I come back to Atlanta, I will be stopping there.

Good Mexican food, cheap!

By katjacob |

This restaurant is one of my "go to" places for good food! The menu is what you would expect of a Mexican restaurant. I love the shredded chicken burrito and La Parilla Dip. It is a very noisy restaurant, so don't plan on any quiet conversations!

Great Food, Ok Service

By rsb41 |

Our food was great here along with the margaritas. Being such a busy spot the service was ok as the food came out a bit slow. Had we been in a hurry this may have been an issue, but we weren't so we enjoyed the meal.

Great food, atmosphere, & prices!!!

By 1fitmami |

Yesterday was Cinco de Mayo so I finally tried La Parilla after years of passing it by. First, I had no idea the restaurant had so much room. There was a large group of about 20 seated in front with plenty room for more groups just like it. I was greeted/ seated with smiles & lots of friendly energy! Our main meal was sizzling, fresh, & in very generous portions. Dessert was yummy too. They were serving a limited drink menu for the day so we chose the suggested frozen Parilla margarita which was awesome. I just had to share with both of my sisters so I actually ended up going here twice yesterday. Both servers (Antonio/ Alejandra) were amazing & I'm sure this place hasn't a clue to my review eventhough they saw me taking pictures haha. This place just didn't stop being busy either. For those who need it, there were managers wearing labeled black shirts in case you wanted to shout praises or needed any help too. Will definitely mark this as a go-to spot for my Mexican food fix.

The Best Tex-Mex in Northeast Atlanta

By HiPockets_ATLGA |

In my humble opinion, the La Parrilla, on North Druid Hills Road and the El Torero, Mall Corners, are the two best Mexican Restaurants in Northeast Atlanta. Many of the "Tex-Mex" restaurants I frequent are good. However, the quality of food seems to excel in these two. From the warm chips, richness of the salsa, freshness of the burritos beans and rice, I think these two are the best. The service at La Parrilla is fantastic.

Margaritas!!

By LKPNYC |

Margaritas are excellent, however my server talked me into ordering a 12 oz special (which WAS delicious) while my friends got the 20oz (or larger). Weird. When I ordered a second one (this time a different flavor), he didn't ask what size, and I should have clarified that I wanted a larger one (I was not driving, I might add)-- he brought back another small margarita. Maybe he mistakenly assumed I was the designated driver? Queso and guac are delicious. Restaurant is a quite noisy. My friends loved their frozen margaritas. I prefer them on the rocks. The special with Cointreau was great; prickly pear on the rocks was just okay. Service is quick and friendly. Even when it's packed, you get seated fairly quickly.

Nice outdoor seating area

By Helen711 |

Located in the Toco Hill Shopping Center. Typical Mexican food. Lots of choices on the menu. Surprisingly, a 12 oz. Margarita was less expensive than a glass of wine! Nice size outside patio is on the side of the building. Some traffic noise but not too bad.

La Parrilla - North Druid Hills is La FANTASTIC

By Steven R |

I've loss count of how many times I've graced the doors of La Parrilla on North Druid Hill, but each time is a mouth "trip the lights fantastic" of great food and margaritas; along with great fast service.

TACOS AND PITCHERS

By kitreddy1983 |

I ordered the Tacos De Tinga and also ordered a Mojito Pitcher for a Friends Birthday. The Tacos were very good and I was full as well. They sang Happy Birthday and everything good and Friendly Staff.

Wonderful Server and Guacamole

By MemphisZ |

We started with margaritas and guacamole made at the table. The guacamole was great. And I like their thin chips. The first round of margaritas was mostly mix, but our second round was potent. Food was okay; carnitas was three large pieces of pork on salsa verde. It was okay. The traditional beef taco (crispy) was good. Enchiladas were standard fare. It was so loud inside that we could not really maintain a conversation. Hand signals work the best! But our server got everything right, and was fun! And it was busy and she was working hard hard hard.

Not Vegetarian Friendly

By Archu01 |

I love Mexican food, but this place isn't vegetarian friendly. Their sauces are made with chicken broth and not sure if their beans are vegetarian either.

Very good food and service

By JamesDSparkman |

Food and service were excellent. Tableside guac was excellent. The tacos traditionles and texas fajitas were the best.

Reliable Mexican Chain Restaurant

By AtlantaBusTravel |

This branch has been in the Toco Hills Plaza for several months now right next the pasta place called Mirko. There is usually a wait on weekends in the 20 minute range. Lots of LCD's tuned to sports along the walls. There is a bar and a broad selection of Margaritas and other drinks is offered. They seem to be have a good proportion of alcohol in the mixed drinks. The menu is large with something for everyone (except perhaps someone who is calorie conscious). I would say that the quality of the food is good and consistent having been there twice now. The menu encompasses the usual expected offerings for a sit down mexican restaurant. We have had many of the appetizers and entrees and though none have been outstanding neither have they been disappointing. It is a place to go for a reliable consistent mexican meal in a sit down setting. Wait staff is attentive and knowledgable regaring the food. Wait time for food to be served has been acceptable. http://laparrilla.com/

Love La Parrilla!!!

By Rhonda O |

I absolutely love this place! I moved to the area recently and am pretty particular about where I dine, I have not had a bad experience in the several times I have been here. The food and the service is always consistent and reasonably priced for the quality, the margaritas are also fantastic and they offer different drink specials each day of the week. Everybody is friendly and actually seem to enjoy what they do, and did I mention the food is great! A must visit!

Superior service and management.

By Mary S |

We eat here often because the food is dependably good, - meaning it is well prepared and well cooked, tasty, and served hot. My favorite is the soup, "De Camaron." The shrimp is a good size with about 10 (or more?), mushrooms, rice, tomatoes and very flavorful stock. I couldn't eat all of mine and had a to-go-bowl to take home, then on leaving, I FORGOT my carry out bowl, and arrived home without it. My husband drove me back to the restaurant where they said it had been cleared away. Well, would you believe: the manager, "Jay" insisted on preparing another bowl for me and gave me chips, avocado and sauce with it. He wouldn't let me pay for it! SERVICE WITH A SMILE. HAPPY HOLIDAYS, Y'ALL!

Very good Place

By TKWRGA |

Seated promptly at a clean table with flatware. Chips and salsa arrived quickly. Service was polite and helpful. Food came out quick. Food was served very hot temperature which was a good thing. Did not have to ask for refills. Lots of couple and families. A very good place. Easy on the wallet too.

First time there and loved it!

By ebonyrr |

We went on a Sunday about noon and there was no waiting. I had the La Parrilla Burito and the steak was tender and delicious. My sister and I also had the Sangria. It was tasty and not strong. We also found the prices affordable. It had a sports bar atmosphere, so it was kind of loud in the place, but since it wasn't crowded, it was bearable.

Toco Hill La Parrilla Gone down hill

By Maggie H |

This location has really gone down hill for carry out at least.. they might as well spit in your food it’s that inedible. Probably my fault for ordering a salad with salmon and a Tex mex place but the fiesta salad did used to be a hidden gem on the menu. Despite ordering well done the salmon was straight mush and the lettuce was flat and spoiling. They forgot the salad dressing and the chips were burnt and stale. Enchilada cheese congealed and sour. Not worth it anymore what a waste.

Great Mexican Food/Great Service

By JoeF41 |

A wide selection of Mexican food, excellent guacamole, great margaritas. The service is fast and attentive. Well decorated restaurant. Strongly recommend.

Love

By Familylife4 |

Fantastic restaurant that is extremely family friendly! Our 3 year old loves to go and they are great at accommodating kids. The only FYI is go early if you have little ones because they always go on wait at dinner. We go around 6pm before the crowds and never have an issue getting table. Can't say enough good things. Good food good price

Awesome Food

By hope2332 |

My husband and I snuck away from work to have a little lunch break together. Well, this is a nice sized restaurant, in comparisons to other Mexican spots, so I thought that the food might not taste as authentic. However, I was pleasantly surprised. My husband had the Ensenada Style - Fish Tacos, which was delicious and I had the Burrito de Brisket, which was just as delicious. Often when I go to Mexican spots, I am a big critic of the salsa and chips. Well, theirs was really good and went great with the food that we had. The staff were very friendly and the service was good, to be lunch time. Definitely will revisit!

WATCH YOUR RECEIPTS!

By Tina W |

I am very disappointed in this location. I am a long time patron of this establishment and the service and fraud I encountered was awful. The server was given a cash tip and my daughter put 0.00 instead of a zero with a line through it and the server added a 1 to make it $10.00! I called the establishment and spoke with the manager Javier and he was more concerned with refunding us the $10 instead of realizing that he is employing a thief. If it was done to us, who knows how many other customers who don’t pay attention this has happened to. The manager stated he felt it was a keying error and that’s why I asked for a copy of the receipt (something he should of done). I was told the receipts were sent to corporate and I had to contact them. After all the calls etc, the DM did call to apologize and understood the severity of what the server did. I hope the manager was counseled concerning handling issues like these. This is fraud and could cause customers not to come to your establishment.

Great atmosphere and food.

By Flyeguy |

I go here often and sometimes just for a beer and chips. Very good atmosphere and full menu. Lots of choices. Plates are large and can be split. Parking is ample as it is in a strip shopping center (Toco Hills) Staff is always friendly and polite

Great food

By Donya B |

We were traveling and just happened on this restaurant and it was awesome! I would definitely recommend it. It was a Saturday night but we were able to get a table quickly and did not have to wait long to get our food.

Dinner

By Dvanderla |

We stop in this small Mexican restaurant for a Sunday lunch. It was wonderful. they have seating inside and outside. There is plenty of room for large groups or small. They started us with the warm thin chips. The Vegetation in the group was happy with their choice of food. I love my steak burrito, the steak was as tender as any quality steak house I have visited. We all enjoyed our meals. The place was clean and people working there were very good. Parking is not a problem being in a strip mall. Prices are average but food is above average.

Family

By Romance35 |

Food is wonderful and the service is great. Been coming here for years!!! This is my favirite mexican restaurant.

Awesome Mexican restuarant!

By Tomira R |

I stumbled upon this place by accident. I originally had planned to go to Longhorns steakhouse across the street but the wait time was incredibly long for a couple of famished people, so we headed out and discovered a new place! I was pleasantly surprised and relieved to see the outdoor patio section nearly filled... this meant this place was pretty good! The customers were of all walks of life. The restaurant had lots of families with kids, so that was nice to see. The wait staff was on point at all times. Our server Susana I believe her name was was very friendly and knew her stuff! The food was great. I ordered the chicken chimichanga and some hot wings. Hey I said I was hungry!! And I was very pleased with the presentation and taste. No cons... this is one great place!

I'll go back

By Lela1954 |

Went Sunday afternoon and were seated immediately. It appears at first to be a sports bar with TVs in every corner but, is light and airy and nicely decorated. Actually, liked the TVs so we could keep up with the Olympics. The staff was very nice, attentive and knowledgeable. Loved the gaucamole and glad we got the small order. It was a very generous serving. After living several years in So. Cal., I had to try the Ensenada Fish Tacos. I wasn't disappointed. Pretty close to the ones I've had in SoCal and Baja. Hubby had the brisket tacos and said he's had better for less$$ but, enjoyed them never the less. Both dishes were nicely plated, unlike a lot of Mexican plates that the food seems to melt into one mixture of cheese, beans and rice. We will go back to try some of the other dishes from thier fairly extensive menu. Most places that use poblanos in their rellanos are usually all right in my book.

Midweek Lunch was Good

By GPBurdell67 |

We ordered the lunch special -- combo lunch #1 and the taco loco lunch. They had no problem subbing an enchilada for the burrito on the menu. All the food was good and prices were very reasonable. The room decor is fun but all the hard surfaces make for a loud environment.

Our Goto Mexican Restaurant

By Ali D |

We have been coming to this place for years. Although the bar seating is our favorite we've sat at tables inside and out on the patio. The food here is amazing and aways consist. And if it's not they know how to make it right. Cheese dip with jalapeños is perfect, and the fried fish taco are perfect. The house margaritas are great. Sometimes I get a side shot and the price is still a great deal. I love this place. Check it out. The bartenders are the best around.

Good Texmex on the way out of town

By Agsetsail |

We stopped here on our way out of town to eat with my two brothers after Thanksgiving. We had just eaten at a terrible Tex mex place earlier in the week so this place had no place to go but up...and it did. Great prices, great service and good food. Chips were good and replenished and the salsa was spicy without burning your mouth. I had a lunch burrito and it was very good. I would stop there again if I was near by.

Great food great location

By Lisa O |

The food here is excellent, the wait can be long and the staff a bit unorganized. Overall it is good food and good drinks

Just an average Mexican resto

By World Trotter Here and Beyond |

This is just an average Mexican resto in Decatur. I thing liked about this resto was the happy ambience and nice bar. For the food, nothing special or worth coming back just a normal type of menu. There were long wait for the food so be patient.

Quick lunch

By Amy S |

Great restaurant fast service. Today I had tacos de tinga with some of their house made hot sauce it was delicious! Ask for Jose Guerrero he is an awesome server! There charro beans are seasoned to perfection....

Take Out-Hit and Miss

By mootooaj |

Ordered take-out: four Fajitas. Veggie fajitas were not grilled, no mushrooms, no bell peppers, just corn, spinach and onions. Veggies were very greasy. The chicken and beef simply had few green peppers and mostly onions. They didn't provide lettuce/etc for one meat fajita and no rice and beans for the other meat fajita. They provided four servings of chips but zero servings of salsa. Very disappointing. If you do a take out, check your order. We will never order from here again. Note:we have visited la parilia in Hampton VA several times and it was excellent.

Cannot beat this place

By Heidi B |

Addictive. We are there once a week like clockwork. Best chips by far of any Mexican restaurant I've ever been to

Not great

By NewOrleansfirstgal |

This is very average Tex-Mex food. It is a large restaurant and very busy. There is some outside dining. Food OK, and service OK. Not someplace I care to return.

Good tex mex but your clothes will stink.

By Paul52Atlanta |

I like the food and service here. If you like basic tex mex, they do it right. But the last two times I've sat inside for dinner, my clothes reek of grease when I get home (must be the chip fryer).

"Asparagus in a Mex Restaurant?"

By jubileegoddess |

I have to start with the best asparagus I've ever eaten because they were perfectly grilled. A generous portion came with the Laparrilla Talipia and Shrimp dish. Everything was fresh and wonderfully seasoned. The beans with bacon and chorizo that I subbed for the mashed potatoes was just ok. Nothing wrong with them, I just thought they'd be different than what I got. My bad but if you're a bean person this may be for you. I didn't feel like dessert but my daughter had the flan and I had to have a spoonful and it was perfect. The menu has something for everyone, vegetarians included. The service was very good considering it was a little past lunch and a bit crowded, the staff friendly and the parking pretty good because it is in a shopping center. I will definitely eat here again and recommend it to others.

Wonderful food and service

By JamesDSparkman |

Second time going here, the food was most excellent and our waitress was top notch. The table side guacamole is the best I know of (I like mine chunky, and not a green paste) and this is where I picked up putting lime in my tea versus lemon, and I'll never change. They get crowded sometimes in a rush, but once you eat there, you'll understand why there's always a crowd.... ;-)

Pleasant spacious Mexican

By Lilli789788 |

The atmosphere and décor are real nice; service is excellent; food is good; the guacamole is superb. the menu is adequate; lots to choose from. I am a vegetarian, so I am not easy to please. The margaritas are very good. outdoor or indoor, a lot of room; some nites are live entertainment (dj); family oriented. modern.

Authentic Mexican cuisine

By magicdragon007 |

Sumptuous portions of real county food, not Tex/Mex imitation. The service is friendly and prompt. But be reasonable, the place is so good it is almost always crowded. They make guacamole right at the table, and my family enjoys that experience. The salsa and chips are a good, free appetizer. Eat all you want, they'll bring more. The portions are large and moderately priced. You won't leave hungry or broke.

Great food. Superior service!

By Amy M |

This is a chain that feels like a family-owned one-of-a kind restaurant. The menu had a vast selection of traditional Mexican dishes, something for everyone. I had the Enchiladas Verdes and it was delicious! I visited with a large group (18 of us!) and I was most impressed that with our server Giancarlo. He demonstrated a level of customer service and pride in his work second-to-none! Although the food runners brought the trays from the kitchen, Giancarlo went the extra mile to personally serve each one of us our dishes with personality PLUS! I highly recommend you check out this location if you are in the Druid Hills/Briarcliffe area and be sure to ask for Giancarlo...you will not be disappointed!

Average Mexican Food

By JeffBreedlove |

There is nothing bad about the food but is average at best. To suggest this is the best in Atlanta is to demonstrate one has not been to several other places. Again, the food is OK but uninspired regarding taste. I had a cheese burrito - it was small and a bit under prepared. My wife's taco was no different from Taco Bell, my son said his burrito was average as well. The chips were both crumbled and a bit over done with that greese shine and the salsa was OK but not awesome. Plenty of free parking in the shopping center.

Best food at best prices

By Heidi B |

Really really good chips and Salsa - the cornerstone to a mexican restaurant as far as I'm concerned. We eat here 2-3 times a month - Get the fish tacos - they are outstanding.

Very good service and food.

By VanillaAce |

Chips, salsa and water brought to table immediately. The chicken enchiladas were delicious and a large portion. The soup with shrimp was awesome.

Good place for Mex cuisine near Emory!

By Smel N. Goot |

Very good service; burritos and bowls very good. Very crowded place, very crowded parking. Not inexpensive. Spicy enchilada sauce.

The ABSOLUTE BEST Mexican Restaurant!

By Heather B |

I first ate at La Parrilla about 12 years ago at their McDonough, Georgia location. I ordered the Steak Veracruz and it has been my absolute favorite ever since. I knew La Parrilla was different when they asked me how I wanted my steak cooked. Whenever I order steak burritos or quesadillas at other restaurants, they never ask me how I want my steak cooked. It typically comes one way- overly well done. However, at La Parrilla I am able to ask for my steak to be cooked to medium. It is the best steak I have ever eaten. Hands down. Better than Longhorn, Outback, Ruths Chris, Angelos, you name it. The flavor of the steak is incredible. It is also topped with grilled shrimp and covered in cheese; all of this is soaking in a flavorful sauce. I have been eating Steak Veracruz for 12 years and it is still my favorite. I think it might be the one food I could never tire of. Everything else on their menu is pretty amazing too. My entire family has a La Parrilla dish that is their favorite. If there is a La Parrilla in your vicinity, you need to try it.

Not A Fan

By ddmullis |

No doubt a very disappointing dinner. I was served in to go containers even though I was sitting at the bar. The chicken fajitas was cooked ok however the onions were strong and harsh. It took two tries to get the meal cooked correctly

Love it!

By Patricia C |

I'm in Atlanta every couple of months and La Parrilla is usually my first stop for lunch. No matter if it's simply a plate of nachos or a complete entree, the food is great! The staff is generally friendly and attentive. They always have good food and drink specials and the margaritas are delicious.

Expansive menu, great food, a family favorite

By daleccccc |

Group of 7 earns an automatic gratuity added to the bill, but no complaint here. They earned it. Early Sunday lunch, extending past 12:30 to fit in margaritas was a hit. Queso fundido con chorizo, chili relleno, enchiladas, soft tacos, soup, fish tacos, all well prepared and served piping hot. Will be back.

Often Loud...but consistent!

By JimAtlanta |

I gotta hand it to this place, they have the hardest working and hospitable bartenders around. The food is good and consistent. Probably not my favorite Mexican fare in town, but very good. Its convenient. And always busy. I like to sit and dine at the bar. The bartenders are extremely charming and on their game. Rarely does my beer mug stay empty for long. The place can be pretty loud with the families but they are rarely intrusive.

Very good, and plentiful

By AtlantaJim |

First time in a long time that I've left Mexican food still on my plate. Not that it wasn't good, it was just too much. I usually have my monthly Mexican food fix in another area of town, but a meeting I was attending ended nearby, so I tried La Parilla for the first time. All I can say is that it was a very pleasant experience. They have several dishes that are above and beyond those on the average Mexican menu. They also have my go-to beer on draft: Dos Equis Special Lager. There were about ten in our group, and no one left unsatisfied with either the quality or quantity. I'll definitely return in the future, since this spot is very near my home.

Great Mexican food!

By kurokitty |

We come here often because the food is tasty. I love getting a combo plate -- usually a burrito with a hard-shell taco and Mexican rice and beans. I love the crunchiness of the taco and the freshness of the shredded cheese on it. The rice and beans are pretty tasty -- my little one loves eating it. He also loves the queso dip! The staff is friendly and the service is pretty quick, making it a great option in the middle of a busy day.

Excellent

By Emily P |

This was my first time there but it won't be my last! Atmosphere was very fun, food excellent, and drinks amazing! The service was great and we had a real nice and relaxing dinner.

Tough steak and very weak margarita

By joann o |

I love LaParilla but recently went to the Toco Hills location. I ordered the steak fajita bowl cooked Medium and a 20 oz Texas Margarita as my back was hurting and usually a drink helps the pain . I was not driving . I was SO disappointed. The drink did not taste like it had any alcohol in it at all. I never even felt a buzz and I drank all of it. I questioned the server when I tasted it and she assured me it was indeed a Texas Margarita. The steak was so tough it was almost impossible to cut even with a sharp knife. I was very disappointed. Formerly their drinks were taste and strong. Not sure I will try this location again. I should have sent both back but I am reluctant as I didn’t want to upset the cooks or bartender.

Very good mexican

By Khammesf |

Having several Mexican restaurants in our area, we est at them a lot. But this one blew them all away. First the staff and server were very friendly and fast. One of the best servers I have had in a long time. The food order was perfect and well cooked. Recommend the enchiladas del mar - lots of flavor and cooked very well. A place I would recommend to try.

A little above average

By loist51 |

A group of 15 went here for dinner. Nothing special, bit we did believe the food was fresh. It was a work dinner.

Sat outside for early dinner

By StevenHScher |

We arrived early, 5:30, to be able to sit outside. It wasn't too busy but it was sunny & hot & they only gave 3 umbrellas outside to provide shade for tables. So we were told it would be 30-45 minute wait. We sat in our car & about 20 minutes later received a text our table was ready. The staff was wonderful helping us get a table under an umbrella. I watched as they cleaned the table. I did not feel they did a good job sanitizing the table. They only used a white rag that I don't know what was on it, water, alcohol? They did not clean the chairs. I don't know if I would come back because of that because of the coronavirus risk. The food was wonderful & our server Josh was fantastic, friendly, attentive & helpful. I had the smothered shrimp ($16.99), it was excellent, served with lots of shrimp, huge asparagus, & delicious mashed potatoes. My wife had the burrito Parrilla with skirt steak ($12.50). It was very good. The food & service was great. The lack of covered tables in the age of Coronavirus was puzzling & the lack of attention to sanitizing the tables & chairs scary. I'll stay away for now until there is a vaccine or cure.

Diego is en fuego !

By Quest818523 |

I’m here a few times a week and have to say GM Diego’s Customer Service really hit it out of the park. We had an uncomfortable a few nights ago about seating at the bar and after speaking with Diego, he made us feel welcome and we returned the following night to an awesome experience. Bravo, and thanks for handling that situation in a professional and courteous manner.

Truly Lousy

By DawnousAtl |

I went here once when they first opened and thought it was terrible. A friend assured me it had improved, but no. Food is terrible. The guacamole stirred together at the table completely lacked lime juice, cilantro or salt. It was bad. The rest of our food was nearly inedible. Not one of us ate more than a quarter. Service is bad. Atmosphere is bad - very loud. No disastrous mismanagement occurred, its just a very lousy spot.

Too noisy and not as good as expected

By PJJWRITER |

It was our first time and couldn't talk for the noise. Guess we're used to Texas style enchiladas, because my enchilada verde was very bland, but the salsa had a nice flavor. We liked the table service when the waiter mixed our guacamole as we requested. There were free balloons with teddy Graham's attached for the kids, but several adults were taking them as well, so some kids had to wait for theirs. The restroom had a bad smell.

Excellent dinner

By StevenHScher |

My wife & I went for an early dinner. We both had the Parrilla Burrito with skirt steak ($12.50). We both ordered the steak rare. Both our steaks were cooked well done. It was still delicious but we would have preferred rare. Our server Alba was excellent. She was very sweet & attentive. My major complaint with this restaurant is the noise level is so loud. The restaurant was less than half full. It was too hot to sit outside which would have been a good alternative.

Busy chaotic place

By duzerma |

We went on a Friday night around 8 p.m. it was packed. Found seats at the bar, had chips and dip and a pina colada both very good...Had to wait for seating until 9 p.m. it was as if the place was giving food away! Very loud and crowded which I do not care for much. I am a vegetarian who cannot eat onions, never have a problem at Mexican places but this place I did. Everything I wanted had onions, so I left it to the waiter to find me something to eat. I had a cheese enchilada and a spinach/mushroom burrito. Both were good, not great but the price was also good. Would not be a place I would go again except maybe to the bar for some fun people watching!

Better than tghe locals great food nd service

By M Richard M |

Needed a Mexican Fix, and wanted to get away from the local, "authentic" places. Well the crowds were large, but wait time short. Staff very friendly. The burritos and enchiladas not all filled with beans and rice, pure meat. Chips and salsa good, order the mild, it is chunky, margarita's very good. Prices low, Ill be back...portions large fillers, steak and fish very good

Great dinner for a party of 8

By StevenHScher |

Our family, including 2 kids, came for dinner. It was busy but they seated us within 15 minutes. We ordered a pitcher of margarita's ($15), which were good but light on alcohol. My wife & I shared 2 entrees. We shared the carne asada ($17.99), which was a delicious skirt steak served over grilled onions & peppers, with rice & beans & sour cream, guacamole, lettuce & tomato. It was absolutely delicious. You must try any of their dishes with the skirt steak. We also shared the Monterrey salad ($10.75), which was a huge salad with grilled chicken. It was too large for us to finish. It was excellent. The noise level was vibrant, meaning noisy, but fun. Our server, Alba, was exceptional. She was on the ball & checked back often to see if we needed anything. This was a great meal.

No, gracias!

Terrible atmosphere and clientele. One big loud open room with music piped down from the ceiling. Had to yelling at the person I was dining with just to have a conversation. Could not even hear the server. They seated 2 guys next to us that had their pants pulled down below their butts and their underwear showing. In a restaurant? And the restaurant allows that? Apparently no proper attire is acceptable in this place.

Yummy Mexican Food

I eat here often. The chips and salsa are delicious and I have never been disappointed with anything I order.

Incredible Noise, poor design

By Jame C |

We tried this restaurant after receiving numerous coupons for discounted meals. First the discounts are only for specific items and only if you purchase beverages that are not healthy. When we entered from a parking lot fouled by leaking fluid from the restaurant dumpster the noise was incredible, caused by hard surfaces on floors and walls and no noise mitigation. We therefore opted for patio seating which seemed pleasant despite a table of loud patrons next to us and a crying baby until the staff kept scraping metal chairs on stone flooring to arrange seating. Think fingernails on a chalk board. The food was typical of this style Mexican restaurant and the chicken dishes were flavorful and ok. I thought my chicken soup was filling and well prepared. It is a shame the atmosphere more than offset the cooking. We will not be back.

Very Good Food, Very Good Service, Good Time

By William M |

It was 6pm and was crowded with people waiting also. There are multiple tv screens. It is a typical large scale tex-mex restaurant that can be found in most medium to large cities around the US. There were four of us and we ordered four different items and loved it. Ok, I will agree that those found in the southwestern United Startes are in a class by themselves. La Parrilla is a very good place to eat and the food and service are both superb!

THE best of the best

By AU046 |

Go here all the time.. the Best Tex Mex outside of Texas. The bartenders also make the dining experience such a fun place.

Love the food!! Really nice place

By Erd_Bay9 |

Every time my wife and I visit Atlanta we stop by this place for lunch or dinner!! Love the food and the service is great, the prices are reasonable, an overall 4 star experience!! Wish I could have service like this more often

New Years Day

Great service, I always site at the bar with either Cindy or Oscar, both super bartenders. Food is constently well rounded and plentiful. Great place but can get loud at times.

Delicious Mexican dinner

By StevenHScher |

We went about 6 on a Saturday night & had to wait about 15 minutes to be seated. We ordered the Parrilla burrito with skirt steak ($12.50). It was very large & delicious, served with a edible salad bowl filled with lettuce, tomato, sour cream, & guacamole. We also had a chicken chimichangas ($10.50). It was served with rice & Mexi-beans. Our server Marisol was great. The only issue I have is the noise level in the restaurant is very very loud.

NEVER GO ON SATURDAYS

By MAVERIC A |

AWFUL BAR SERVICE I AM A REGULAR CUSTOMER OF THE L A PARILLA IN TOCO HILLS . TODAY (SATURDAY) I HAD ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE BAR SERVICE , TO START WITH NO PROPER GARNISH FOR MY DRINK. I WAS TOLD THEY WERE OUT. NO NAPKINS ( THE 3 WHITE GUYS NEXT TO ME WERE GIVEN NAPKINS) , I REPEATEDLY REQUESTED A NAPKIN AND WAS REPEATEDLY IGNORED , I WANTED TO ORDER SOME FOOD BUT CONTIUED TO BE IGNORED. CERTAINLY NEVER ASKED FOR MY ORDER. IT FELT INTENTIONAL. PLAIN HORRIBLE BEHAVIOR BY THE BARTENDER (JOSH) WHO I HAVE TIPPED GENEROUSLY IN THE PAST BUT NO LONGER. MEANWHILE HE WAS QUITE ATTENTIVE TO ALL THE WHITE CUSTOMERS. YES, IT FELT RACIST ON HIS PART. I BROUGHT IT TO THE TO THE ATTENTION OF THE GENERAL MANAGER WHO LISTENED TO ME AND OFFERED ME A FREE DRINK. I TOLD HIM I WAS NOT HERE FOR FREE STUFF BUT EXPECTED TO BE TREATED LIKE EVERYONE ELSE. STAFF SHOULD DO THEIR JOB PROPERLY. I WAS VERY UPSET BY THIS SITUATION. NOTE: IF YOU READ THIS DO NOT HESITATE TO CONTACT ME FOR FURTHER DETAILS . LESSON; NEVER GO TO THE BAR AT TOCO HILLS LA PARILLA ON SATURDAYS ,UNLESS YOU'RE WHITE.

Excellent food for a great price

decent mexican food with live music and good service

By 0504Traveller |

we were in the mood for Mexican so decided to try this restaurant. When we got there, it was about a 20 minute wait and the restaurant took down our number to send us a text message when our table was ready. About 20 minutes later we got a text message that the table was ready and we were seated. Complimentary chips and salsa were provided, but the salsa was not good so we asked for different salsa and got homemade pico de gallo which was AMAZING. The chips were good. The service was excellent as our waitress was attentive and very service oriented. The food itself was decent, not great food but decent enough and the portions were large. Overall, the restaurant provided great service and great pico de gallo

Best Mexican cuisine

By Shiba N |

Even their refried beans tasted freshly made and not old/out of a can. Best Mexican food ever! Definitely worth visiting.

Wonderful

By Steven R |

Wonderful, Wonderful, Wonderful. Did I say Wonderful? LOL!! Go and enjoy. The food is spectacular and always friendly service.

Addictive food!

By Heidi B |

Really good food and really good prices. You cannot go wrong. I am not a fan of their outside section because its basically the parking lot of a large shopping center but inside is welcoming.

Can eat it every day

By AnnaV12 |

One of my favorite restaurant, I love Mexican food....can eat chips and salsa for breakfast. But I tried so many, and no one can make Tacos like La Parrilla. And of course the Margaritas, my favorite is strawberry one.

Really good service

By Phyllis W |

Still in search of awesome nachos so tried La Parrilla while I was in the area. Restaurant was busy, was seated quickly on the outside patio. Lots of choices on the menu. Nachos Grande was ok. Would return and try other options on the menu. The food item I chose was good and the service was really good, so I'm rating as a 4.

Excellent Food & Service, but very Loud

By Charles V |

The service is excellent, the food is great, portions are large and prices are reasonable, but the noise level can be a deal breaker. 3 of us couldn't carry on a conversation without shouting. The dining area is one large room and sound just bounces around. I'm sure there can be a fix for that, but it's been like that for years. They have an outdoor patio, but it was too cold to open it the night we were there. If you have good weather and can sit outside it's a 5 out of 5 Restaurant.

Excellent food;small tables

By Jim N |

The food was delicious, but with four people sitting at the table there really wasn't enough room for drinks, our plates, and the quac. Thankfully, we were able to set the condiment/menu holder on the table next to us. It was really uncomfortable so I cannot rate five stars.

Excellent Service and Decent Food

By ddmullis |

I recently met friends for dinner at La Parrilla. The chips and salsa was fantastic along with the margaritas. The black bean soup was fantastic The grilled chicken dinner served with corn, peppers, onions and cheese sauce was prepared nicely Two things to be aware of. First they use hot not mild onions. They are very strong. Secondly the refried beans are so thin you need to drink them with a straw The service is outstanding

Cheese dip!

By PostcardPassenger |

After moving to Seattle, it's hard to find white cheese dip...but every single time we come back to Atlanta, our first stop is for Mexican food and white cheese dip. Cut to--a visit to La Parrilla. This is quite a festive restaurant--balloons for kids and even an appearance by Santa. The service was quick and the cheese dip was on point! I even opted for the chimichanga because it came smothered in cheese dip!

Great Food Horrible Service

By ddmullis |

I have eaten at several La Parilla locations over the past several years. The quality of the food has always been top notch. This location is no exception. The food was top notch The service however was a complete disaster. I ate at the bar and I have never met a bartender who seemed to hate his job more than this guy. He was very unfriendly and never provided any drink refills. I had to beg in order to get my check to pay out. Bottom line if you go here DO NOT sit at the bar

Typical Chain Restaurant

By bonne306 |

The food was good but nothing special. The service was great but ,as with such a huge menu, there were no special dishes that stood out. The cheese dip was very bland.

Excellent Mexican Food and Very Good Service

By ddmullis |

Although they are a local chain, this location offers excellent Mexican fare at a reasonable price. The Chips and Salsa are awesome. The fajita bowls are a great choice for those who are carb conscious. The service was good for the entire meal. The only downside is the atmosphere can become very loud. I recommend asking for a booth along the back wall which is quieter

Loved the food. Way to noisy.

By StevenHScher |

Our first visit here. We loved the menu. The prices are reasonable. The service is fantastic. We started with the guacamole made at the table. It was excellent, although the chips they serve are very thin & break when you dip them in the guacamole. The enchiladas del mar was fantastic. Filled with shrimp & tilapia & covered in a creamy cheese sauce. Just yummy. The skirt steak burrito was also excellent. I have to give this place 3 stars because it is just so noisy. To me a restaurant is about the experience not just the food.

Amazing!!

By NinaExplorer |

It was on a Friday night and quite busy in there. However, well worth the wait. I got the Tampiquena (sp) steak. It was amazing and highly recommend it. The steak was medium, cooked just right. The atmosphere was lively and fun as well. We sat at bar rather than waiting. From what we encountered, the bartenders were attentive and friendly. I would definitely go again.

Great

By GATravelersRetires |

Visited for lunch today. Seated immediately although the restaurant was full. The chips and salsa were great and plentiful. We had the Quesadilla DelMar. It was loaded with steak and shrimp. Oh so yummy.

Awesome!

By Jackerma1131 |

La Parilla has some of the best mexican food around, and the service is always wonderful! It is a very clean environment always. The staff is extremely friendly and always very helpful. This is a regular stop for me, its my go to!

Great food, lots of atmosphere!

By SFisher |

Enjoy each visit here. Food consistently good. Great cheese dip! Very roomy, great service, reasonable prices. A real neighborhood place.

Great service, good food!

By andy m |

Okay, realistically, the food is nothing extraordinary, but it's good! Much better than the other run-of-the-mill Mexican restaurants in Atlanta. There are many La Parrilla locations, but this one seems very well run. Be forewarned, the kitchen ventilation seems inadequate - you WILL leave smelling like grilled onions! If you are a party of one or two, sit at the bar! Best, most courteous bartenders around!! Oscar, Nellie, Cindy, and Ernesto are awesome. If you sit at a table, ask to sit with Miguel. Enjoy!

**the best custumer service**

We when to la parrilla for my birthday and the customer was amazing. Food in another level really, really good. Diego manager and Nicole u guys rock****

Was ok

By Doug B |

Good restaurant

By Versie2016 |

Quick seating , good food , fast service. Clean neat restaurant. Busy lunch visit. Mostly business type customers and workers

Yum, yum, yum

By StevenHScher |

We had a fabulous, delicious dinner. We got here just before the crowds. I had the smothered shrimp ($16.99). It was amazing. It comes with about 10 nice size shrimp in a mouth watering light creamy cheese sauce. It also comes with delicious homemade mashed potatoes & asparagus. A very large dish. My wife & son both has the faja quesadillas ($13.50) with the faja quesadillas steak. It was very large & delicious. Our server Isabella was excellent. She was fast, efficient & checked on us often. Excellent dinner meal.

Sooo Loud!

By Lladnar |

Food is good and the service is friendly, but the place is just too darn loud. I don't know if it's the acoustics, the large groups or the Margaritas. This was the last time for me. If you want a festive high decibel atmosphere, this is the place. If you want to be able to converse without shouting, look elsewhere.

Decent Tex Mex With Decent Service

By ddmullis |

Have eaten here three times over the past couple of months. I find the chips and salsa to be very tasty as starters. Their steak meals are very good and always cooked to perfection. The service at the bar for the most part is always decent to good. The only complaint I have is the fact the overall atmosphere is always VERY noisy. It seems the way its setup the noise simply bounces off the wall.
