Many rave reviews. Not sure what west coast diners are used to at Italian restaurants but this food would NEVER be accepted on the east coast. First of all, is there a reason you cannot offer me a salad option with my meal? Salads are $9 to $12 ($11.50 for a CAESAR). I understand if it is your main course but with a meal? How about an option? Our waitress never even brought us bread, we asked multiple parole and finally someone brought us a tasteless basket. Two of us ordered minestrone soup, a feature that night, and had a bowl of vegetables in a thin almost tasteless broth. An hour later our entrees arrived (actually 3of 4 with no explanation of where the 4th was). Raviolis were lukewarm but tasty. Chicken entree looked good. My noodles were hot. The meatballs in the meatball sauce tasted like the ones at sams club. A hundred dollars later (no alcohol one Diet Coke) we went to Jennis for ice cream. Come to Pittsburgh or NYC for real Italian food and skip this place.

House made pasta. Family on site to assure things are done right. Rational portions. Great quality. We did find the eggplant a bit tough, but some things are not controllable. Nice wine selection. Parking is tight but street parking is available. A menu that will never tire you.

The food is fantastic and the service was great. Homemade Italian food in a warm family atmosphere. The service staff was very friendly and attentive. A great experience and I higly recommend the Ravoili de Ricotta Spinaci and the Mezze Lune di Ricotta e Noci but we went several times during our stay and everyone enjoyed their dishes.

First time diner at this place. Nice staff, but our waiter did not listen properly and gave us the wrong order. We didn't want the food to go to waste so we ate it. He offered free meatballs to make up for it, but I overheard his manager to charge us for the meatballs anyway. But the waiter didn't charge us for cappuccino and tiramisu (which was subpar at best). When the bill came, I wrote down the amounts to charge each of our credit card. The waiter said he couldn't do it that way and said he had to charge it per item. So okay, but he charged the wrong items to our cards. So, oh well and we even left him a decent tip. Never going back and definitely not recommending this place to ALL my friends and business associates.

I came here on a date and we absolutely adored it! The food was excellent, although it is authentic Italian food, so you might need to ask some questions about the menu. The first section is a page of handmade pastas and a page of signature sauces, you choose your own combination. They do offer specialties as well; I ordered the lobster ravioli and it was divine! My date is a vegetarian and he was also quite happy with the large variety. The staff was amazing as well. Very kind and very attentive. We had a couple questions and our waiter had no problem answering them all. Later in the evening we even chatted a bit; they went out of their way to meet all our needs and make our evening special. The ambiance is quaint and very welcoming. It is a rather small restaurant, but it's walls were filled with eclectic collections and a few paintings. We found ourselves looking around in curiosity more than once to see what new detail we'd see. It doesn't look like too much from the outside, but once you step in the door, it's got a comforting and authentic vibe. The only small downside we found was that they didn't serve any alcohol. Their food was so wonderful, it would've paired quite well with a nice wine. We asked our waiter and he said they were actually working for their beer and wine liquor license, so fingers crossed, because that would be the cherry on top of this already magnificent place. There are several bars and clubs around the corner on Vermont, and this is a great spot to stop for dinner beforehand. We will definitely be back again soon!

This tiny little Italian restaurant tucked in between a laundraumat and a bar is a real gem. It appears to be only 3 guys running it, one in the back of the house and two in the front. What they turn out is pure magic. Best Italian food this side of Italy. We tried several dishes and desserts, and all were delicious. BYOB, there is no liquor to be bought, but no corkage fee either. Because the place is small....maybe 30 seats, it's a good idea to make a reservation, but they do take walk ins. It's worth the wait anyway. We happened on this place by pure luck, but we will go back again.

Had a great time at La Pergoletta, delicious lunch in a great price. The staff was also super friendly! Thank you! :)

Excellent, authentic Italian food, small cozy place, great service. From the appetizers to the dessert was excellent. Could make a better and bigger meatball. It BYOB, and they have corkscrew. Overall a great experience

Having just returned from Italy in May I can honestly say the food here is as good as any we had there. We had a group of seven so we made a reservation and were seated immediately. The server came quickly to take our drink and appetizer order. We ordered a couple of bottles of Vino di Montepulciano, reasonably priced at $30, Polpette (meat balls) in Marinara Sauce, andan Antipasto Platter for the table. The Polpette was so good we ordered another one. the Antipasto Platter was great, too. For my main course I ordered Ravioli in Mushroom Cream Sauce, heaven on a plate. Several others at the table ordered Pasta Puttanesca, also incredible. Can't remember what the others ordered but everyone was happy with their choice. We were so full no one wanted desert. Everything is house made and fresh. The prices are reasonable. Do yourself a favor and go.

Our second visit after more than 3 years. The homemade pasta choices were still attractive as were the sauce options. The alioli and pepperoncinno and penne was great, the spaghetti option was too thick for me and the Arrabiatta sauce did not taste home made. Caesar salad was delicious. Love the vibe of this restaurant with the expanded outdoor space and the service is great! Try it

I was assured by a local that this Italian is authentic and when I went in to book the table I was again assured that they don't put sugar in the tomato sauce (so common in the U.S.) and it was a proper, Milanese family restaurant. Therefore 5 of us booked in for dinner and the food was indeed absolutely delicious. Couldn't fault it. However, 4 out of 5 of us then had upset bowels in the night and the next day and all had completely different meals. We came to the conclusion it must have been the oil. Apparently, they use a mix of canola and olive oil. I don't understand why canola oil is used everywhere in America, it's horrible stuff and always makes me ill. Such a shame as it really was a lovely meal in a lovely place. But where in Italy is canola oil used???In future, in the States, I am checking on what oil they use before eating!

Best Italian food, including lasgna and filet mignon pasta, we have had so far! Shrimps are also fresh and nicely cooked. We spent US$35 each including a shared dessert. It opens till 10pm, with last order at 9:30pm.

I'm usually not much to get very excited about a restaurant unless the food is about the best I've ever had of its kind and the place and service are good enough...This IS the best Italian food I have ever eaten and it is consistent as an old mom's cooking could ever be! The delicacy in the making of the ingredients and the love that you taste in every bite make it worth the visit every trip (it's 5 miles from home), but the fact that the owner and his family are so honest about wanting to give you a great meal and place to eat it in really wrap up the package. So many times I've told people and until they taste it for themselves they never believe me. It's at 100% so far for new believers! Love this place and can't get enough!

Great food. What more could you ask. The mainstay spaghetti with meatballs is authentic and simply excellent. The star of the show without a doubt is the fabulous white mushroom (not red tomato) sauce Lasagna. You will eat it all!

After spending the afternoon at the LA Observatory, my granddaughter wanted spaghetti for dinner. We stumbled upon this small Italian restaurant just a short distance from the observatory and The Greek Theater. The restaurant is very small and fills up rapidly at dinner time . We found the homemade pastas and all to be very good. We had six people in our group and each of us tried something different, so we had a very good cross section of the menu. Each of the dishes was very good to excellent. I particularly liked the pesto and oil sauce. The service was very good and the prices reasonable. The only negative, we noticed was the restaurant did not serve alcohol! No red wine with my pasta! The waiter informed us they are working to obtain a liquor license and expect to have it very shortly. The restaurant is located in the Los Feliz area of LA. We would definitely eat there again.

We stumbled upon their new location in Silverlake on Sunset and wow it was really good. Cute little location with great pasta and many other good items. Looking forward to going back.

Upon entering La Pergoletta, the aroma tells you to expect deliciousness. Your hopes are fulfilled beyond expectation. The menu is varied and enticing. We have to return. The waitstaff is friendly and knowledgeable. It's comfortable, like being in your grandmother's kitchen. I can't say enough - from pasta and sauces to house wine and the most unexpected treat, cannoli! Am not revealing its location. It's mine, all mine.Too bad for other folks.

I was driving by and saw they are now open for Brunch / Lunch on Sunday. Popped in to try the Brunch....it was out of this world. Apart from the exceptional Omelettes and Specialty egg dishes....all with that unique Italian flare...I tried the smoked salmon bruschetta. That is my go to dish as a point of comparison. The ingredients were not only fresh...but the flavor combination was a party in my mouth. The portion size was extremely generous for the price. It was very busy so I suggest getting there at 11am or making a reservation. The only thing better than the food was the service.Ask for Bette....fast funny and adds to the ambience of this Los Feliz Gem.

Authentic and superb Italian cuisine, it is open for lunch, but closes at 3;30 and then reopens for dinner at 5;30 The Gnocci are light and fluffy, so much so they might just take flight. the sauces are delicious and not heavy.

I broke a piece of tooth on a broken seafood shell with pasta and they barely apologized. I still paid for the dish. Ruined my night

Pergoletta is implementing discreet supplementary fees which are not allotted to the servers. Do not pay the additional services fees.

Delicious home-made ravioli. Family style restaurant. Good atmosphere. Fast, friendly, reasonable prices.

It's in a strip mall, the outside is unassuming, the inside is small and plainly but warmly decorated. Everyone in our party of 6 enjoyed their food -- a variety of well-made pastas and sauces in just-right portions. The desserts weren't outstanding but our server was friendly and knowledgeable, and we had a pleasant experience overall.

Visited last night with the family on a recommendation from a local website. Parking can get tricky, park across the street at the other strip mall if the parking lot is full and there are no spots on the street. My recommendation is to reserve ahead, we had a spot but the place fills up quickly. The interior is casual, warm and inviting. The way it works here; they do not have their liquor license yet so you can bring your own wine, all the pasta and sauces are homemade daily; you can combine any noodle with any sauce....the menu is huge. The warm bread appy is a nice touch but the pasta steals the show, flavor city. Portion sizes are good enough if you have a little bread, otherwise a salad may be needed if you are really hungry. It is priced low compared to other restaurants we have been to. This is authentic Italian food at its best. I will be back.

We’ve lived in the neighborhood for 20 years and counting but we had never stepped into this small, hidden Italian restaurant in the mini-mall between the Thai restaurant and the local watering hole. Out for a Friday night walk in search of food, my wife suggested we try La Pergoletta. Walking in, we discovered that the restaurant was far bigger inside than the small storefront hinted out in the parking lot. In fact, the inside felt like a restaurant I had really liked on our trip to Rome this past year. It looked like it had been here for decades when in fact they only opened about 5 years ago. I loved the service. But most of all, the food was authentic and delectable. I absolutely appreciate that the pastas are listed in one column and the sauces in another. You get to mix and match as you see fit. This place is an absolute gem!

I visited here back in May and June excellent authentic Italian food, the place is very cozy, but they have the best fresh food. From Appetizers to Dessert. I had couple of their pasta dishes, it was out of this world... yummy

My wife and I were in Los Angeles (Los Feliz neighborhood near Hollywood) and selected this restaurant for dinner. It's fairly small with 10-15 tables depending on how you arrange them but they do take reservations. My wife had their Caesar salad which she called "divine" when she first tasted it. Lots of parmesan cheese flakes that must have been freshly grated on top of a bed of lettuce with just the right amount of dressing and three, not too salty anchovies made for the very best Caesar salad she's ever had. And that covers a lot of salads. I had the penne pasta (fresh, perfectly cooked) with Alfredo sauce and salmon. Each guest can pick a type of pasta (between 5 and 10 stuffed, or not, choices) and about a dozen sauces and add filet mignon, shrimp, chicken or salmon. My salmon fillet came without skin and was very hot - much hotter than typical restaurant fare. The pasta was perfectly cooked and the Alfredo sauce was creamy and rich, but not overpowering. There are a few other choices of entrees in addition to the kinds of pasta, but I steer guests to the pasta as I think this is their specialty. BYOB. Bon Appétit!

Visited this restaurant in April 2016. Restaurant is hidden in strip a mall but is very cozy and inviting inside. Service was friendly, personable and passionate. Owner/cook came over to table and explained menu, made recommendations and answered our questions. Everything we had was amazingly fresh and so delicious. I wanted more but was full after an appetizer, fresh bread and pasta plate. They also provided fresh coffee and desserts but we did not indulge. Defiantly give this place a try.

What a find! We’d just stepped off the bus from Griffith Observatory, looking for a spot for dinner and there it was, across the road beckoning us to venture over. We did, we were so impressed by the staff before the food arrived, he answered our questions and gave recommendations. Then we ate! Loved it! Really, worth it, surprisingly quiet and comfortable in winter under the pergola and with a heater. I am sure you would find the same, so good!

This was a chance find for my family and I'm so happy we found it. The owners are involved in the daily grind and she waited on us several times and talked with us genuinely. They are smart about space and open up seating in the deli connected next door after the deli closes and have outdoor tables as well. The menu was expansive and highly customizable, and they have catering options if you are interested. The portions are perfect to have you leave stuffed with no leftovers. I had stuffed gnocchi with several cheeses inside which were dense and not as gooey as i imagined. The meatballs melted in your mouth. I also had spinach fettuccine noodles with carbonara and it was amazing and what i would get again next time. I had to try a cannoli for dessert done they make the filling there and it was different... Lemony? Very sweet with a sharp flavor that set it apart but i couldn't place it.

The Food is not worth the price Small portions big prices. Frozen lasagne is much better for 1/4 of the price. Waiter was in a bad mood He ruined my night.

As cute as this restaurant was, the quality of food you are getting for your money is not 4.6 quality, I had a salad that was in a very shallow tiny bowl , I added shrimp $8.00 to do so, I asked no tomato pls, after waiting an hour to get our meal, the salad had one olive cut in 4, one tomato cut in 4 some slices of sun dried tomato, they left out the artichoke that was suppose to be in there , 8 small shrimp, the lettuce was Romaine nothing fancy... and some fresh mozzarella...It cost me $21 for this??? second dish was fettuccine carbonara... it was lacking at best..I was extremely disappointed, Being from an Italian family from the East Coast, I thought I was gonna be wowed... Pass you can find finer food for the money! Extremely Expensive for quality of food.

Good News Silverlake Echo Park and DTLA folks...La Pergoletta has opened their 2nd family run place on Sunset Bl in Silverlake...just up from Wood. Now it's easier to enjoy authentic Italian dishes more often. The dining room has a cozy atmosphere that envelops you the moment you step inside. There is also an 8 seat bar so perfect for a solo bite and vino after work.Same great home made pasta at neighborhood prices.Open for lunch and dinner.Service as always personable and professional.

Excellent service and food... we are vegetarians and loved it given the variety of sauce options Beware its pricey and they nickel and dime for everything -- -all add-ons had a hefty cost and the portions are small compared to any other American restaurant! Bruschetta di Burrata is great!

Found this restaurant by chance based on Yelp suggestion. Can't say enough good things! Paulo's hand-made pasta is nothing short of artistic. I had Lasagna Bolognese; noodles were paper thin yet perfectly firm. Absolutely delicious! Paulo took time from a hectic kitchen schedule to make us feel welcome, and shared some great "how i discovered...." stories about his favorite recipes. What a discovery! We will be back if ever in LA again.

On the way to the Greek Theatre, we found this wonderful restaurant. This restaurant is located in a small strip center with limited parking, put plenty of free street parking. We arrived at 5:30 pm without a reservation, and the place was filling up quickly by 6:00pm with lots of locals. I had the Fettuccine Nero Di Seppia Al Frutti Di Mare that was loaded with fresh mussels, shrimp and calamari served on squid ink pasta. This rates as one of the best that I ever had. My wife enjoyed the the Porcini Ravioli that she throughly enjoyed. This was enjoyed with a wonderful Pinot Grigio wine that our server suggested from their extensive and reasonably priced wine list. This restaurant provides traditional home cooked Italian food at competitive prices. We will be back.

We stopped by this restaurant for the first time at lunch. First they did not have ice and gave use warm water. I ordered spaghetti and meatballs and my wife had eggplant parmigiana. She had Minestrone soup. It was unlike any she had ever had before. Unusual vegetables in a tasteless clear broth. Her eggplant parmigiana was mushy without taste. My red sauce for spaghetti and meatballs tasted bland and so much sugar added. The bread was nothing special and the service was poor. We will not return

Ordinary risotto, picturesque atmosphere. my wife asks for plain spaghetti and ends up with spaghetti butter we were not even offered dessert, we were handed the bill. if they want to send the customers to make money, they should open rather a panini sandwich shop.

Choose your type of homemade pasta and the sauce you want and smile all the way through dinner! Must order the bruschetta! Nice hint, neighborhood restaurant, reasonably priced. BYOB. We will go again!

Located in a cramped corner strip mall in trendy Los Feliz, La Pergoletta's the kind of place you might expect to see in an LA version of "The Sopranos," right down to the red-and-white-chequered tablecloths. It's loud, funky and authentic, with a killer menu and a kitchen that excels in all departments. The risotto al funghi is Old World delicious, ditto the squid ink fettucine. Wine is plentiful and the service is friendly, if a bit frenetic.

Kind staff found me a seat despite the show crowds. Excellent service and simply incredible dinner. One of the best lasagna I’ve ever had and I’m picky about the sauce to bolognese to pasta ratios. I would recommend this place to anyone! The menu offers loads of pasta / sauce options and also has risotto and gnocchi dishes. Everything is possible.

What a neighborhood gem! From the outside, it looks blah. It is the inside of the restaurant, warm, friendly with very good food. My husband is 100% Italian and loved his ravoli -- I had Spaghetti with Salmon. So yum! Service is a little relaxed, so take the time here and connect with your loved one over a glass a wine before dinner. We will return.

My 2 1/2 year old and I decided to have a little date last night. Upon walking into this place we were not promptly greeted and there's no clear direction as to what to do - do you stand in the doorway (there's are tables literally RIGHT there) or do you walk to the back display case or...? After a few minutes of standing around someone finally came up to us and sat us - where? - right by the table by the door. I asked for a highchair that took at LEAST 10 minutes to get to my table and the same guy annoyingly asked me AGAIN if I needed a highchair. Then - the bus boy came a few minutes later with water but gave my 2 1/2 year old a normal grown up cup - come on. Let's have a little common sense maybe? Then it took forever for our waiter to come over who was far from friendly and helpful. I wanted gnocchi which is a traditional go-to for me but there were no prices next to a handful of the pasta options and it wasn't clear that you then needed to pick a SAUCE to go with it - and of course the waiter made me feel like an idiot vs. be helpful. I ordered and apparently I wasn't clear that the plain pasta dish I ordered for my 2 1/2 year old was off the kid's menu...because when I got my bill it was a normal pasta dish - I even pointed to the pasta on the MENU while I ordered and as he hovered over me and took my order there was no way he didn't notice. Back to the order of events. We were then served some bread - but it was a weird variety of hard breads that were more like slabs of croutons. We didn't have silverware, no napkins, and I had to ASK for these things before it dawned on anyone to provide them. I saw another table have to do the same. It was literally just bread - they didn't come with a dish to pour any oil and balsamic vinegar on it - no cheese no nothing - literally a basket of crunchy bread. Totally unsatisfying. They could do better. We continued to wait for our food and my kid was getting restless so I had to hunt down someone to ask if they had a pen (the one time I needed something to distract him I of course wasn't prepared). They had crayons. THEY HAD CRAYONS. Why wasn't this offered to us when we sat down? I had to go grab them myself let me add so they could have at least told me 'hey there are crayons over there." I thought my brain was going to short circuit. I used to be a waiter for YEARS and I couldn't believe the lack of assistance and consideration in this place. Their saving grace was the entrees. Otherwise this place would be getting a 2 out of 5. My gnocchi was different (stuffed) and absolutely delicious! I was afraid that it wouldn't be enough but it was totally satisfying. My kid seemed to enjoy his as well since he gobbled it up. One thing I'll never understand though is why good Italian restaurants don't give real grated Parmesan and instead give the stuff that looks like it came out of a Kraft container. After we got our meal I had to ask for silverware - they brought my kid a knife - seriously on the verge of a mental explosion but I let it go. I then had to chase someone down for napkins because they still weren't provided to us at this point. Then came the issue with the bill that I already discussed. He adjusted the bill at the table but fought me about it which I thought was highly unprofessional. I really hope they get their staff trained on better service because if this wasn't lacking SO MUCH this place would be great. And maybe they can get a better bread starter...
Fresh, Traditional Italian Food
I've been watching this place for months now - curious. I finally had an opportunity to have lunch with a friend and was ever so glad she suggested La Pergoletta. The menu options are many and varied, with plenty of home made pastas and 21 varieties of sauces. Choose your pasta, choose your sauce. They also have risotti and steak and chicken dishes as well as traditional eggplant parmigiana and grilled salmon with lemon risotto. Desserts are on display - and I couldn't resist trying the Panna Cotta Frutti di Bosco, and I haven't been able to shake the memory of it from my head. It was simply divine and I'm plotting my next visit already. The owner himself - Paolo Seganti - is the chef, and his lovely wife Carlotta tends to the front of the house with warmth and charm. Simply put - this restaurant is definitely one to try!
