From the first time I went (a few days after it opened) to now, the improvement in all aspects is noticeable. The food is of very good quality and with a Mexican flavor. The Ribeye fish tacos, the pastor tacos, the melted cheese, the real tortilla soup are very very good options on the menu. The service was very good, fast and with smiling faces (that makes a difference) and we ate very well. Congratulations to the partners, the chef and the entire team that make La Popular possible

Went here for Mothers Day dinner. Everything was tasty with interesting flavors. Habanero ribs and corn were really good. Still new but pretty crowded so reservations might help.

La Popular is a welcome addition to Austin’s list of restaurant options. From it’s Mexico city roots it brings upscale versions of delicious Mexican dishes and drinks. The décor is one of relaxed sophistication and the staff is efficient and welcoming especially Marty Carrizo the General Manager.

Excellent drinks, excellent food! Joel was fantastic at taking care of after my daughter presented her thesis. We wanted to celebrate in a relaxed environment with excellent food and drink and that exactly what got.
