great place to enjoy some tapas and some spanish wine

By igor022 |

Take your time to enjoy one of Miami's great tascas, come in and have yourself some tapas made from Spanish imported products and have yourself a glass of wine with that. Great atmosphere and staff, very friendly, feels like a little part of Spain, Spanish television and la Liga soccer games.

A Gem in Little Havana of World Class Caliber

By Pedro Martinez-Fraga |

La Vasca is extraordinary. The experience is much like entering a time-space continuum and finding yourself in Spain, perhaps at Candido’s in Segovia. The food is exquisite. Prepared with elite expertise. This is one experience worth having, and certainly more than once! Enjoy!

Here you will find trully authentic Spanish ingredients

A nice place for shopping and getting all authentic ingredients for cooking your favorite Spanish dishes at home. You will also find appetizers and good bakery. A convenient place to visit.

Bagette dough flown in from Spain! Delicious.

By RandBMiami |

What a gem. They actually bake Spanish Baguettes from dough flownn in from Spain. Pan Rustica and Barra Cantabrice. Who does that? And they are delicious. And the food on the small restaurant side is the real deal. Rich soups, tapas and sandwiches from the Basque region of Spain. So glad I found this place. This is Espana! Not Mexico, Cuba, Colombia or any other related ethnicity.

Local gem!

A gastronomic trip to Spain

By JBlanc197 |

The Vasque country has long been acknowledged at the best representation of quality Spanish food, with San Sebastian leading the way. It was only a secret because In the past, the separatist movement made it somewhat dangerous to travel to that region. At that time, La Vasca was the best place to find those delectable northern spanish foods. She was one of the first in Miami to bring quality cheeses, chorizo, cantimpalo, and many other foods typical to northern spain. I began to frequent this place what seems to be twenty years ago. It was the first place I found "queso tetilla" which literally translates to "breast cheese", and its shape is true to its name. The "embutidos" or chacuterie are the best. There are many places to find genuine Spanish fare in Miami, but here you can find virtually everything you need to cook all the spanish classics, and more and they won't gouge you with exorbitant prices.

Nice little surprise in Little Havana area

Great surprise visiting this family owned deli, we were recommended by a friend who goes there weekly, had amazing tapas and wines, the ambience was like being in Spain, very heartwarming and inviting. Thank you for the service, we will definitely return in the future to try more of the dishes and enjoy the company.

Artisanal and Unique

Recommended to me by my older brother who is a food quality control specialist. The space is small but welcoming. The seating is communal and service adequate. The Spanish hams are of the highest quality and if you are looking for the Bellota Pata Negra-the are waiting for you at this spot. The Spanish Tortilla is by far the best I have eaten in the Miami area. The wine selection is small by highly selective and excellent. The Tapas selection are tightly matched to the wines. The soups and stews are made on site by La Vasca herself. All delicious! The selection of salt cod for sale is the best is the city-both frozen and salted. The tinned food is selective and diverse and recommended. What more to say about this unique small food store except say " get there and eat something" soon.

Food Items from Spain

By Chris F |

This place is like a small goldmine. Not only is it a small but quaint restaurant, it is also a deli and small grocery store (all their items are authenticity made in Spain). Begining with the bread they service (sent from Spain) to all the condiments, olive oil, tea, rice, chorizo, cheese, beer, tuna (bonito), frozen seafood, chocolate and more all come from Spain. It was a delight to eat there but if you want the soup of the day (Caldo Gallego) get there early(there was only 1 bowlful left)...sandwich and octopus was awesome with the beer but the sidra was not to my liking..but everything else was amazing and awesome!!! If ur going to eat in, space is limited and you may have to wait a while...but totally worth it. We drove from Palm Beach County to taste the flavors of Spain at La Vasca and we were very very pleased. We also brought back other items as well.

Authentic Spanish

Authentic Spanish food at fair prices with top-notch service. We enjoyed it so much we came back a second time — and in a city full of dining options, that says a lot. The wine selection is excellent, and the menu offers a great variety of dishes. The atmosphere truly evokes a traditional Spanish tavern.

Best Spanish Deli.

what I like about it, is that they have any kind of Food from Spain that you wish, the Couple who, along with their two Sons offers a very good service, and are always ready to answer your Questions about any of the foods that they sell in a very Courteous way.

With a bit of more attention it could be great

By Javier L |

Conveniently located on SW 8th Street in Miami, La Vasca is a good choice when longing for good Spanish food, the type one would find in many taverns and bars in Spain. There are also a grocery section and a wine section were one can buy canned and bottled Spanish delicacies. Wines are available for a wide range of budgets. Food is home-made with Spanish-imported ingredients. As compared to last year, current prices are high for this type of establishment. The bathroom needs a bit of attention as well.

Spanish Oasis in the heart of Miami

By vhoracio145 |

La Vasca Deli is a wonderful, wonderful place. The quality of the food, the atmosphere, and its owner, Mr. Matias, is always in a good mood, willing to do whatever it takes to please you and make the customer feel happy and comfortable. As I said before, a place I'll definitely come back to. Thank you, Matias, for having this Spanish oasis in the heart of Miami. Adriana, Horacio, and family

Authentic Spanish

Walked in looking for a good old fashion Spanish potaje and found it. This place is small, very typical and inviting like any taberna in Northern Spain. The potajes were delicious as well as the croquetas. Good choice of wine.
