We enjoyed Lambert's before our event at the ACL/Moody Theater. We were able to make reservations ensuring our on time arrival to our event, which was directly across the street. While I agree that dinner was pricey, the brisket, jalapeño broccoli and Mac & cheese were all amazing. The food came out very quickly and the service was outstanding. We enjoyed Lambert's very much.

I was excited about Lamberts - I had managed to get in a last minute table. The restaurant has a typical US steakhouse ambiance and is a good place for business meetings and special occasions. The short rib on the next table caught my fancy and it appeared to be a big portion so I skipped on the appetizers (guess the hostess wasn't super pleased by that). The short rib was a massive portion and I couldn't complete it; partly because it was too charred on the top and a bit too salty for my liking. I did try their banana pudding - this was a lot better and I managed to polish it off. The whiskey cocktail was nice but nothing fantastic either. Coffee was standard. The prices are on the higher side and I wasn't enamoured by the meat.

Busy. Good ribs. Potato salad ok. Hamburger was ok. Noise level was 4/5. Service was okay, server was covering many tables.

We met our granddaughter who lives and works in Austin here at Lamberts based on a friend's recommendation. There's a nice small bar and two floors of dining in an historic building on 2nd Street. The brisket and pork ribs are outstanding and we are so glad we waited 30 minutes to be seated because it was totally worth it!

There are so many choices for BBQ in Austin, and all I tried were great. It was recommended we go to this one because it is a "nice" restaurant with waitress service, etc. We weren't disappointed. The brisket was amazing. The macaroni and cheese melted in my mouth. Recommended.

We came in for a quick taste of barbeque at lunch and left very pleased. I get the fact that some need to wait on lines and eat barbeque off of paper--it all becomes part of the experience. I rarely have time to burn at lunch and I do appreciate being served and even talking about the menu. Thanks to our server Zachary, we tried the Cold Smoked Trout---one of the better trout dishes that I can remember. Of course, we also had the three meats (we went with Brisket, Pork Rib and Pulled Pork)--with the 2 sides, it was way more than we could eat. I would like to try the place at night, as it appears they have live music upstairs.

Had a family gathering for dinner. Service was attentive, and food was superb! Appetizers, brisket, and other dishes were excellent. I’d recommend the family style side dishes be more substantial as our group of eight went through them quickly. But a great experience!

Had to wait 45 mins which was no problem. The food is worth the wait, I had the most delicious succulent ribs it was difficult to fault them, I couldn’t get over how each mouthful tasted more delicious than the last. As a side I had mac and 3 cheese which was really good a very filling. The beer was good and the staff serving us were wonderful and really chatty. I loved the atmosphere here the place was literally buzzing. Would I go back? Of course I would, I loved this place and am still raving about the food. 😀

We came to Lamberts based on reviews here (in addition to a shoutout from our concierge), so it feels important to us that we help future travelers by chiming in with our own perspective based on our experience. We came for the food, which was wonderful, but our experience was even better. From the friendly host to the enjoyable live music upstairs (we chose a downstairs table though, to enable conversation), to our completely wonderful server, Michelle, to the manager, Chelsea, everything (EVERYTHING) was spectacular! Quick notes: Michelle. Helpful, nice, fun, and offered really great service. Helpful hints AND the encouragement about an additional glass of wine (I’m certain I needed that.) we loved her. Chelsea: wow! She should work for the Austin chamber with her deep food knowledge about her adopted hometown. Friendly and fun - we wanted to just stay and hang out with her. We sat at a table that enabled us to watch the line in the open kitchen. We observed a calm, efficient chef in charge of a professional line. No shouting, banging, or chaos. It was truly a delight to watch. And the food! We both had brisket so I can’t comment beyond that, but WOW! Moist and tender, smoky, delicious. We shared an excellent wedge salad and then had desserts. Listen - the banana pudding might have fueled my dreams last night. Add a nice whiskey list and you have created the perfect restaurant for us. Listen - you’ve gotta eat bbq while you are in Austin. I strongly recommend that you so so here.

What can I say, I have been loving BBQ for years and when I went to Lamberts tonight I was so impressed with the tenderness and flavoring of the courses we had. Had Boar Spare Ribs for an appetizer and let me tell you that the flavor was out of this world...definitely get those and share. Had the brisket and it had a great bark and smote ring...did not need a knife to cut...fork will do and no need for any sauce but I had to taste their sauces and man they were great. Also for you keto diet folks...get the Hanger Steak. Good service and place is in a very old downtown building so the character is there. Better get a reservation so you get a seat....worth the wait.

We sat at the bar and had half price on our entree. Huge amount of food and absolutely delicious. I had the pulled pork and my friend had the brisket and we shared. Delicious! Bartender was super friendly as well.

We ate here twice during our trip to Austin. The brisket was so tasty at our lunch, that we decided to go back for more at dinner. Not sure why, but the dinner brisket was not as good as the lunch. Reservations advised!

We had lunch here recently. We both had the brisket, served cold and over 50% fat. Only reason we came was because we could make online reservations.

Recently my husband and I enjoyed dinner at Lambert's because we wanted to experience the Texas barbeque style. We reserved an early table, and could understand, given the small footprint of the main dining room, why that would be important. My husband had brisket that he said was both tender and not dry, and I chose an appetizer, crispy wild boar ribs, with a delicious specialty salad, which was plenty for the small meal I desired. This seems to be a super busy place, so if you're in a hurry, it probably shouldn't be your first choice. We were satisfied with the service.

We happened upon Lamberts one day for lunch. The 4 of us from different cities were promptly seated around 11:45 at a nice table. The smell of smoke and food was in the air. I split the wild boar ribs with my partner, the sauce was good, but wish I had gotten it on the side, it was a little spicy. Then my entree arrived, combo brisket and rib along with two sides. I was a little disappointed that I only got one rib, but it was good. The stand out was the brisket! I would order the brisket again, and neither the ribs nor the brisket needed sauce to be enjoyed. The place was packed with a waiting line by 12:45. I did not know they have a patio, as it was a pretty day.

Went to Lambert’s because of the reviews on Trip Advisor, it did not disappoint. Our waitress Bri was wonderful and very knowledgeable. She recommended the rib eye steak & it was delicious. Almost felt guilty using BBQ sauce, but that too was delicious. I personally didn’t care for the pork rib but that’s because it was sweet & I don’t care for sweet food. We had the waffle fries with it. I highly recommend the chocolate peanut tart for dessert. This was the best Texas BBQ so far - my fist time in Texas.

Today I was acting like a tour guide in the 2nd Street District for my brother where decided to have bbq for lunch. I have not been to Lamberts in a while so was excited to return and did remember it was very good. I parked at the City Hall Garage which is next to Lamberts where It has no parking. The building itself is very historic and had huge heavy doors as an entrance. We went inside to find a lot of people eating but luckily we got a table. That place definitely has character. We were given menus and small biscuits as an appetizer which were so soft, warm, and good. Drinks listed on one side and food options on the other. Besides barbecue brunch was available to. I ordered the Lamberts Old School Bacon Benedict along with a Mimosa. The place was not too loud but felt very comfortable. One thing I noticed was the whole place smelled like smoke and was stuck with you all day. I explored a bit where I found a second story with another bar and a small stage. The food arrived and it looked very good. I tasted my Benedict and it was farm fresh. The eggs were cooked perfectly and nice a salad was part of it. It was truly and amazing meal and my Mimosa was not bad either. My brother had the slow cooked barbecue chicken and my wife had brisket, and I tried both and it was excellent with nice smoked taste. I had some of my wife’s sides where the Herbed Waffle Fries and Baked Mac & Cheese was also delicious. With the staff coming around refilling drinks you had that fine dining experience which stood above the rest in the barbecue places in Austin. Overall this place was once again a top choice and everyone in my party was completely satisfied. You may pay a bit more for barbecue, but what you get in return and the atmosphere is worth it.

Great food, great service. I really enjoyed my the sampler I ordered. I will definitely be eating her again.

They had a private party upstairs when we arrived, and didn't know reservations were recommended, so had to eat at the bar as we couldn't get a table. Space is kind of tight, and a lot of traffic by kitchen staff going outside frequently for firewood, and other supplies. Brisket was good, but not very warm even though it was promptly served and less than 10 feet from our location. Serving size was also kind of small - mac & cheese was excellent & hot. glad we were there for happy hour so the price was lower. While they do have BBQ items, they have more than just BBQ too.

Elliott gave excellent service and walked us through the menu. The food is to die for. Queso with burnt ends is a must try. Brisket and ribs melt in your mouth. Mac and Cheese is the best I’ve ever had. Will be back for sure.

2-3 star rating. Our main courses (brisket and pulled pork) were good but, unfortunately, nothing else was. The main course comes with a small ramekin of pickled vegetables that were very salty. The appetizer (shrimp and crab campechana) was too spicy and the buffalo cauliflower just tasted strange. Décor and the music coming from the upstairs were nice, and it was convenient that you could make reservations.

This place was fantastic. We had reservations to eat upstairs and watch live music. Everything was great, the service, food, & music. I would highly recommend coming here for some great barbecue and drinks. We will definitely be back!

I was unable to try the BBQ, but I went upstairs for an album release show. Wheelchair users, it would do some good to call ahead and let them know you are coming. Elevator in the building works, but it very slow and you need a lot of patience. Overall, it was a very fun time.

So my second BBQ dinner in Austin and I enjoyed it more than the more well reviewed Franklin’s...I was definitely less tired and the vibe was better so that has probably influenced my review, that said I would go back. Great selection of draught lager...friendly staff, lots of room and food was great, especially the sausage and potato salad....personally, I thought all round a better experience

We visited Lambert’s for my husband‘s birthday and had the best meal during our long weekend in Austin. The food was outstanding and the service was great as well. I’m so glad that we picked this place for our last night of our trip – we were very impressed and can’t wait to come back! Highly recommend.

We had chicken, brisket and pulled pork and a couple of sides and that was enough for the 4 of us. The food was well worth the 30 minute wait for our table - friendly and helpful staff and a handy location for downtown. Reasonable prices too. Would definitely go again.

We had reservations for 5:45pm and after checking in we were ask to step aside while they seated others. Once we were seated we ordered two pork chops and we’re told they were already out by 6:00. We ordered brisket instead and was very disappointed that it was very fatty. The staff was very nice and they did comp us one brisket dinner but for $27 entree I expected more.

I went in on a sleepy Sunday afternoon and was surprised that the tables were already all reserved. Still, the upstairs section could find me a table on the spot. I got the Happy Hour dishes - pulled pork BBQ, jicama slaw, potato salad and local beer (one Sign, Austin). Everything was DELICIOUS. The pork was cooked just right, smoky, succulent, crispy on the outside. The fresh salads so very flavorful, with a touch of lemon, chives and cilantro. Above average. lf you like light ale, this local beer will be a good choice. The place is very neat, sort of dimly lit in old-style bar atmosphere. Service friendly and helpful. Don't miss this place if you visit Austin - and make reservations no matter what day/time you plan to go there.

Let's be honest, the lure of BBQ is cheap, messy, meat. Everything about Lambert's over-priced, dry, brisket is the opposite. It's touristy, crowded, and a mess of a cliche. As a long-time Austin resident, I have heard consistent rumors regarding poor health practices and exploitation of kitchen staff. Frankly, if it we're for misguided tourism, the McGuire Moorman Hospitality chain probably would not survive.

Lovely establishment. The staff is very professional. Now the food, hands down the BEST brisket I have had in Austin. My lunch was absolutely delicious. Beans, mac & cheese, pork rib, and brisket. The portions are not large however exquisite in flavor. Very well done. Cheers!

Very Good service. I was there for a medical lecture upstairs. The space was cozy but not too crowded. Really good ribs and sausage. Very good brisket Cool atmosphere and great location Employees were friendly and professional. I hope to return someday

Well the family called the food "Fancy" BBQ. It is but only due to the price. The food was good not the best in Austin by far. The Brisket was a little fatty and dry. Sauce ok and the sausage was ok. Hard to compare since we had 2 days of Franklin's and Blacks BBQ. Heard the Mac-n-Cheese was good, but not really the best. The mashed potatoes were very good and the Cigar rolls made with mushrooms were by far the best. We had 45 people and the bill was over 9K. For that kind of money I could hire Aaron Franklin to come to my house. Staff was nice and clean and neat facility. I would not go back because the price was not worth it.

Beautiful building the brisket is to die for and love the mashed potatoes great Brussel sprouts also. sit down They called it fine dining we felt the prices where on the low end of high family style we had a couple drinks and 4 people ate and our bill was around 120$ Entertainment upstairs it was a fun night

Food was fantastic! All the meats were so tender and cooked to perfection. You must try the boar ribs app! Unbelievable! And the brussel sprouts sides. My clothes did smell like I was smoking the meats myself! They were not kidding the smell would stay with you afterwards but it is worth it!

Great lunch spot (nice outdoor patio) in the heart of it all. Atop the best places for BBQ in Austin and there are many. Solid craft beer selection, draft and bottle alike. Can't say enough good things about the ribs too...crusty on the outside and tender on the inside. Service was spot on as well.

Vistied Austin recently on business...tried out several BBQ places..this place had the worst food and the highest prices. I got the beef brisket it was dry and the portion was small. I certainly expected more food for the money. I liked the historic building and atmosphere. The staff was great..too bad the food wasn't as great as the staff. We couldn't order our own sides, had to get family style and share for $8 each. That didn't work out for us, as all three of us wanted different sides.Had a huge bill for only three people My brother felt bad and paid for the entire bill..my poor brother..

Love the location and renovated building. Nice folks who accommodated us as a walk-in early even though no reservations were available. Good service and quick food. Spicy. Great mac and cheese and little muffins. Sadly, not the best BBQ I've ever had.

Visiting from Boston, I found the traditional BBQ places more appealing. Nothing really wrong with Lamberts, but it doesn’t have the authenticity of the more ‘honky tonk BBQ places. The food was good, the service was good, but for me, I enjoyed the other kinds of places better.

We ended up going for my mom´s birthday, which is on Christmas Eve. The portions are slightly smaller than what you would expect at a BBQ place, but it is the perfect size! You have just enough room for the delicious dessert! We also got to see the live band, which was a plus. They noticed we were singing *Happy Birthday* and sang again, just for my mom. A visit we won´t forget any time soon!

Lamberts has a modern take on traditional barbecue that honors both in tasty combinations that satisfied our need to taste Texas barbecue on a recent trip to Austin. Much more satisfying than a earlier evening at a more traditional barbecue. The setting, an older brick building, and terrific service made it a well-spent restaurant stop.

We were looking for some Texas BBQ in Austin and Lamberts was recommended by our hotel. It was an excellent choice. We had the ribs for an appetizer as well as the Deviled eggs. Both were very good. For dinner we ordered the Lamb ribs, delicious, the ribeye terrific, and the brisket a little dry. The coconut nut creme pie was an excellent dessert to finish the night. We ate outside in the covered porch and watched a thunderstorm roll in.

Had a delicious meal at Lamberts. Great tasting bbq meat, and plentiful. A bit noisy but that’s part of the charm. Definitely recommended, but with the note that you will need to wash your clothes afterwards. A strong bbq odour...

This is real , coming from a fourth generation Texan . Smokey flavor is there , and is so tender . Delicious !

Disappointed in the barbecue here. Ribs needed more time on the pit. They were greasy. Beans were blah. My husbands’s beer was warm. The only standout was the fried okra with spicy remoulade sauce. Banana pudding had good flavor but was thin. Maybe it was a bad night?

We went to Lamberts Downtown Barbeque tonight. We had 7:00 reservations, but got there a little early.. We went to the bar, but by the time we sat there our table was ready.. The wine at the bar was a little pricey. When we got to our table the waitress was terrific. She explained everything and mad several suggestions. The crispy wild boar ribs were spiced, but absolutely delicious. I had the pulled pork and my wife had the fish special. Both were great!. We also had their Mac and cheese side. It was to die for [from]. If we lived in Austin we would go back on a regular basis. It was that good. Just make sure to make reservations.

Ribs and brisket were very tender and flavorful. Sides were excellent as well. Friendly, efficient staff.

Lambert's has a great combination of high quality food, ambiance and service. Located downtown right across from the river (on one side) and Austin City Limits (on the other), Lambert's is one of the best eating establishments in the city. All the meats--brisket, pulled pork, chicken, etc.--are excellent. The apps--deviled eggs, queso, etc--are terrific. The sides--waffle fries, mac and cheese, cole slaw and potato salad--are all very good. The restaurant is located in a historic building on 2nd and Guadelupe. Upstairs, there is music in the evenings.

Came for happy hour and sat on the patio. Service was excellent, our waitress was great. The fried green tomatoes with lump crab meat were excellent, a delicious combination that arrived hot. But the wagyu beef tacos were SO salty, and the brisket was good but not inspiring. Not sure we'll come back when there are so many alternatives in this town!

Overall experience at Lamberts was great. Unique combination of great BBQ and sides in cool downtown Austin venue. Good bar and wine selection.

So sad about menu changes. Different queso appetizer, no more fried okra, and a completely different Mac and cheese recipe. It used to be so rich and tasty. Now it has a breadcrumb topping and an oniony taste. No good.

I've tried a few BBQ places in Austin and this has by far been the best I've had. I went on a busy Monday night and started at the bar with a nice drink and then moved upstairs with friends to enjoy a great meal with great service. Can't wait to go back.

We came here in 2018 and only got a seat at the bar. in 2021 we came back and made reservations. Big portions, great service and nice environment. the food was delicious too. BB ribs and short rib. big enough to split

We didn't know how limited the seating was in Lambert's. To ensure getting a seat, make a reservation. We got lucky and got a seat at the bar. The bbq was so delicious. The mac and cheese was the star of the meal. If you like margaritas, Lambert's has almost perfect margaritas.

This is our second visit, and just like the first is was top notch for food and service!! We love the brisket and pork, the best Mac and cheese, and great cocktails!

Such good food and drinks at Lamberts! The service was excellent as well. We went for lunch and there was a good lunch crowd, but we didn't have to wait.

Beautiful place to sample local food. Attention from all staff 10 points...the dishes were delicious, good variety of dishes and drinks. Cozy and well quaint atmosphere.

Although my dad would be rolling in his grave if he saw the prices and descriptions on Lambert’s menu, we enjoyed our experience at this gourmet BBQ joint. Street parking on a Sunday afternoon was close and convenient. Staff was friendly and very professional. Our waitstaff seemed to know the menu backwards and forwards. We sat upstairs where the atmosphere was warm albeit noisy. We were not impressed with the Crispy wild Boar Ribs, however, the Rainbow Trout was so fresh and oh so delicious. Suggest coming for a special occasion as a group and sharing plates.

Had a great experience! The police officer at the parking garage recommended several good places to eat. We were very impressed with the food. The service was excellent! I am definitely going back to this place,

Went with family for lunch, had the mustard and brown sugar glazed rib-eye with the full roasted garlic bulb. Cocunut pie was great. Neat shop (Austin rocks) located nearby as well as parking indoors at townhall.

Many beers on tap to choose from and start your great experience here! Outside, they're hauling the wood in. Manager tells us the meats are smoked for 12 hrs, which helps explain the super quality! Crispy green bean appetizers have a lovely, bit spicy sauce. 3 folks ordered and split short ribs and brisket. All were excellent, but for hints, we'd definitely give the nod to the brisket for both leaner and a bit more tasty, although for big appetites, then we'd steer others to the ribs as the brisket portion's significantly less. Collard greens were the best we've ever had. The yukon gold potatoes were excellent. Old building atmosphere a nice plus. Wait staff helpful. We'd be very glad to return. Another hint: plan ahead and be sure to have reservations, and well in advance if you seek peak times...this place is popular!

Outstanding!! Bravo!! Absolutely perfect meal. Grrreat food, service and atmosphere. Loved the brisket, the hanger steak, the green beans, the Mac & cheese, the berry dessert, and the banana pudding. Great atmosphere, friendly yet polished service, air-conditioned. Plllllease open in New York!!!

Came in with a group - a surprise dinner, and just wow! Perfect place to gather friends and our great team to break bread together! What an amazing Austin staple! Lambert’s has the best food, drinks and service!!! Huge thanks to Dani for guiding me on how to feed a large table in the best way!!! She was a phenomenal waitress! Everything was delicious - highlights include the queso, tempura beans. Ceviche, ribeye, broccoli, half chicken and gold cake!! Just all AMAZING!!! Also big thanks to Alyssa!!! Best bartender in Austin!! Amazing personality and makes incredible drinks! It was hella busy at the bar and she kept it moving with ease and a smile! Big thanks to the manager for helping us get a group of filmmakers in at the last minute! This is Motivate Picture’s new home!

We went to Lambert’s for lunch today and it was fantastic! Food, service, everything! Upscale bbq is how I would describe it. Loved it!

First beware. The online menu does not state the lunch menu is only available weekdays. So we paid dinner prices at lunch. This means $25 for two slices of brisket and a slice of generic white bread, $25 for three pork ribs. A shared side of cole slaw for $9. The brisket was excellent. The ribs were average. Add two draft beers and the bill is over $80 plus tip. And we are both ready to eat something more in an hour. We travel all over and are used to pricing on this order in major cities. Austin prices seem to be leading the charge to be considered a major city.

Awesome night out. Would recommend. Been looking for a decent BBQ dinner restaurant in downtown. Thanks

Lamberts takes reservations and Blake was quite good at communicating with me regarding my groups needs. At 12 people, we had to order family style but that's understandable and we loved selections. In particular I liked the fried green tomatoes, the collards and the BBQ chicken. At the end of the as well, I felt the cost was reasonable for what we got. You know that Austin = BBQ, try Lamberts !

This is one of the best upscale barbecue restaurants I've been to. We started with he brisket queso. The cocktails were super yummy. Amazing with huge chunks of meat. The ribeye was mouth-watering - probably one of the best ribeyes I've ever had. We ended with dessert......oh my. We all chose different ones so we could share with each other. They were over the top delicious. Highly recommend this place!!

Had high hopes for this restaurant, and we were only in Austin for a few days so we were trying to squeeze in as many good bbqs as possible, which is difficult as many sell out by 2-3pm! I was able to make reservations on line for 3 pm ,but when we arrived we were quickly brought to our table and told we would have to order right away as it’s the end of their lunch service- starting out poorly - why accept a reservation if you don’t want us there!!!!! So we quickly ordered, our 2 apps were decent , the boar ribs tasty , the shrimp and crab decent, then we shared an entree of bbq meats , meh, dry and average, definitely didn’t compete w other places we tried ,,, wouldn’t bother going back to Lambert’s as there are better options out there. Our waiters were very friendly though! And the style of the restaurant was beautiful!

The pâté was great, served on fried brioche. The meat platter allows you to try brisket, pork ribs, and sausage, and there is enough food there for two. This is also true for the lemon pie; don't go and order two desserts unless you are really hungry. The lemon pie was huge.

Brisket sandwich, wedge salad, chips and cheese, Cuban ...all good. Beautiful inside ..has a patio and a cool Bar upstairs.close To river in downtown ..historic building , professional service and refuge from wind and rain today.. great late lunch

I went to Austin on a business trip and only had a few hours to explore- and I needed some good Texas BBQ. I went here on the recommendation of a few friends and it lived up to every word! I went for a late lunch and the place was fairly quiet. I sat at the bar and was served up a glass bottle of coke and a nice glass of ice. The bartender gave me some info on the menu and I went ahead with my order. He was very friendly and chatty, without being overbearing. My food came out really quick and my few substitutions were correct. I had the brisket and the pulled pork- both amazing. I could have had another plate full of both! Not heavy on the sauce, very tasty and a good portion size. I asked the bartender about a few things to see in the area and he was great on giving me some ideas and walking directions when I left. Will definitely go back if I'm ever in Austin again!

Very fatty brisket not very much meat for $28 considering so much of it was fat plus it was not very smoked. My husband makes better brisket in our green egg which he just got (eg he is no expert yet by it I’d rather eat at home than pay $28 for fatty unimpressive brisket). Banana cream dessert was good. I would not come back for brisket, but it was good service and over all nice dinning vibe thought very dark so photos are not good in this review.

Visited Lamberts BBQ in May 2019 for a business dinner. It's located in the heart of DT Austin, just a few minute walk from W Austin hotel. BBQ was very tender and tasty. It's rather crowded, even for Monday night, and it got noisy. A bit too noisy for business dinner. The server asked us to leave right after paying the bill as the next party is waiting for the table at the bar. So, good food, but probably not the best place for business dinner.

Went here with family as this is my niece’s favorite barbecue in Austin. She called to make reservations and they told her she had to call their Event Planner for 8 people. My nephew went in person and he couldn’t get in until 9:30, which is too late for a toddler. My other niece called and the woman told her she needed to speak with the Event Planner for 8 people. When my niece questioned why for 8 people, the woman said, “Oh, I thought you said 18 people.” Obviously, miscommunication or it’s so loud in the restaurant, she couldn’t hear. We went the 3rd night, and found that it is extremely loud and it is difficult to hear conversations at your table! After we ordered our appetizers, the lights were lowered which then made it difficult to see our food and plates! I ordered the brisket and it was dry. I had to dip it in their white barbecue sauce to eat it. BTW, their white barbecue sauce is luscious. Their appetizers, vegetables and desserts were very tasty. I felt their barbecue meats were below par compared to other barbecue testy we ate at in Austin. The staff is friendly and welcoming. Too many barbecue places in Austin for me to return.

Great restaurant in downtown near hotels. The food was amazing and we loved the devil eggs. We had the 3 meat choice and my wife had a wedge salad. Only complaint was that I think there should be more meat included for the price. The server was great and very helpful with making our decisions. The coconut cream pie is fantastic and it is a must for anyone who likes it.

Yummy beef brisket, deviled eggs, & cheese grits. The fried okra was amazing! We loved listening to the Carl Weathersby Band while we ate. Service was just so so otherwise it would have a perfect rating!

Definitely try the boar ribs and quail! Fun atmosphere with live music upstairs some evenings! Fun local place in Austin!

Our Christmas party was held here. Staff was nice and accommodating. Bartenders mixed up some great drinks! Chips, salsa and homemade Oreos were WONDERFUL

The wife and I had a delicious meal here on our first evening in Austin last month. The cocktails were expertly crafted and the BBQ'D Clam appetizer was superb. We also enjoyed the Jalapeño cornbread muffins very much. We shared the three meat sampler and found the pork ribs to be extraordinary, possibly the best I've ever tasted. A nice upscale place to enjoy a fine meal.

Lambert’s has a sultry dark upscale feel . We went for salads and a desert late one weeknight. Easy to walk in and enjoy in a cozy booth. Wonderful hi end service, patio if you want outdoors, smell Of wood burning..just a wonderful spot that has an old history as a Grocer, old building and great 2nd street location. Thank you ..we love this spot

The food here is excellent! We had the half chicken and boar ribs. Really great! The food comes really quickly and the staff is friendly. Be warned you’ll need reservations well in advance. Even reserving 5 days prior, we could only sit on the back porch, which is nice, but not nearly as nice as the regular indoor dining area, which has great ambiance. This is a different barbecue experience and many other places in Austin, it is more of a fine dining experience with amazing barbecue. We love lots of the other down and dirty barbecues in Austin as well, but this is a great place for special occasion, or to highlight a trip to Austin.

It’s rare that we go out for Que, but we did this week while visiting Austin. The location is a historic building, not that large, and well worn (which is good). Great aromas inside, we had the chopped beef with herb waffle fries and a side of their baked Mac ‘n cheese. Very good brisket with a little hidden heat. And the Mac was excellent, melty/creamy with a slightly charred top and again, noticeable heat. Yum.

Lambert's is a bit pricey for lunch, but the brisket was excellent. I ordered the brisket plate and got 2 nice thick moist slices of brisket, The lime slow was excellent. If you are not a lover of goat cheese you will not like the Mac & cheese which has some goat cheese in it. Good BBQ sauce

We very much enjoyed our meal at lamberts The brisket is excellent and the highlight for us was the beef rib which should not be missed! Additionally though it’s hard you must save room for dessert because the fried fruit pie and banana putting is some of the best desserts we’ve ever had!

Haven’t been to Lamberts in a while, so I thought a good place to meet some family for Sunday brunch, checked their website, saw a few things for brunch that looked good, but when we arrived no brunch menu, just lunch with 2 brunch specials, when I asked about it our server went to management and came back with a sorry no brunch story, note to Lamberts: When your not serving an entire menu anymore then take that full brunch menu….OFF THE WEBSITE! Lunch brisket plate below average, brisket sandwich below average, lunch chopped beef sandwich to sweet, lunch chicken Caesar salad terrible, jalapeño sausage good. So very over priced, service was ok, but newby server got our order wrong and had to return a plate and correct the order, you could of shot a cannon through the place at 1pm Sunday Brunch…I mean lunch. Guess that’s why we were the only locals there, the other 4 tables were tourists. So sad to see another former great Austin restaurant on its way out.

Visited Austin for a few days and was looking forward to good barbecue. Lamberts did not disappoint. This restaurant in downtown Austin is located a great old warehouse building with live music. The menu however is unique. This is fine dining! Highly recommend you try this place if you enjoy "creative" food. A real pleasure.

Stop by on my last night in Austin on a business trip. Great neighborhood bar in my opinion bartenders were particularly nice. Beef brisket was as good as ever. Upstairs has incredible atmosphere and live music but the day I was here it was a private function. I recommend

After a couple of years, we again had a meal at Lamberts. Wedge salad and boar ribs. Both were excellent. Service was friendly, and the servers worked as a team. The price was fair. All in all, a swell evening. And we ate outside on the terrace which has heaters. Sound was low.

We all know Austin is famous for barbecue but we will have to try another place before we find "meat happiness." The quality of the food does not match the price. We were there with our adult children and hoping to have a nice time and conversation. I don't need quiet but with the band upstairs it was hard to hear the person across the table. I wish I knew where the people of Austin go for excellent barbecue at a fair price.

This felt like a fast food joint (the food came within 5 minutes after ordering it and we were out in 45 minutes, as were other diners), except for the high prices. Here's what was good: the brisket, the corn bread, the greens (once we mixed them with the very good house pickled vegetables), and the potato salad (once we mixed it with the mustard sauce). Apparently the chef believes in do-it-yourself flavors. Here's what wasn't so good: the server was training a new staff member. I hope the new guy wasn't listening because the world doesn't need another server who goes through a long list of what his favorites are and why. What do I care? I never met him before and have no idea how his taste compares with mine. Also, all sides are extra and cost $8 because they are very large portions ("family style"), which makes $21 for just brisket just silly. And, it leads to waste because if two people want two different sides, there's going to be a lot left over, and they are probably not going to want to bring it home (or back to the hotel).

Service: Exceptional Drinks: Good Food: Just Average I am a fan of BBQ, and honestly was expecting something amazing. But was disappointed. The ribs were dry and the rest of the food we ordered was strictly average

Very nice interior and relaxing atmosphere. We were seated right away because we had reservations. Waiter took orders for appetizers and drinks. After looking at the menu I ordered a sliced brisket sandwich with a side of beans. The appetizers arrived and looked fabulous. We had crispy wild boar ribs and fried green tomatoes. Both were amazingly delicious! Next came the sliced brisket sandwich and it was wonderful. This came with a house bbq sauce (Texas) and a mustard base sauce and a spicy habanero sauce. I could dip my sandwich in each sauce to sample and all were different and uniquely tasty. After an amazing delicious meal I ordered banana pudding and cappuccino. This was a wonderful way to end a super amazing meal! Would give more than 5 stars if I could as service, quality of food, flavor, and atmosphere were all top notch.

We had a great dinner at Lamberts. The place was full when we got there, but even without reservation we only waited 35 minutes or so to get a table. While we waited we had a drink at the bar. I had pulled pork and my husband had ribs for dinner, both was tasty. The restaurant is actually nicer than it looks on pictures. Would recommend visiting Lamberts.

Don’t bother! We we’re excited to eat BBQ in Austin. Chose Lambert’s because we like to eat at places that have beyond Diners, Drive-In’s, and Dives. The waiter was beyond rude. There were 7 of us. We wanted to split a couple meals because we weren’t that hungry. That seemed to set him off. Pulled pork was dry. Brisket was ok. Mac n cheese was too cheesy. We’re not picky eaters so when I tell you, don’t waste your money. Never saw our waiter after he dropped off the food. He added gratuity to the bill without telling us. It is very expensive. Everything ala carte. Our tour guide earlier in the day recommended Coopers. We’re going to go there next time.

Went there with a group of friends. I'm pretty sure they forgot to place our order bc it took forever for the food to arrive. I was so surprised to see the food drowned in bbq sauce when they have bottles of their various sauced on the table for you to add as you see fit. To me, real bbq is NEVER drowning in sauce. The other 3 friends I was with all agreed. The food was simply okay. This place is NOT what it used to be.

I went to Lamberts for a dinner with a vendor. Because there was a large group we had a special menu that was served family style and it had a wide variety of the regular menu for us to try. Everything on the menu was delicious. I am attaching a pic of our menu. I don’t know the prices but I’m sure it is not cheap.

The best brisket I've ever eaten. Great beer, delicious house sauce and friendly staff. “Vintage” environment surrounded by skyscrapers.

My Husband and I visited Lamberts Downtown BBQ last night for dinner and it was delicious. This is our third time at Lamberts and its always excellent. Every time we are in Austin we make sure we come here for dinner. The Boar Ribs are our favorite. They are so tasty and we can only find them here. The service is excellent they are very attentive and friendly. They have different desserts that you do not find other places and they are very good. The coconut cream pie is our favorite. I highly recommend Lamberts .. It will not be disappointing.

We went here for lunch while in Austin. Located in a very cool old building, it has great atmosphere. As soon as you open the door, the smoke smell hits you and you know you are home! Cold beers from the bar and then onto lunch. Tried the brisket (of course), and the ribs, both were smoky perfection, with great flavor and moistness. Sides were really well done as well. Their BBQ sauce was one of the best we have had. Just a perfect combination of sweet, tangy and spicy. The meat did not need sauce at all, but is was really good with the sauce as well. Just a great little BBQ joint right downtown, that you must try if you are in the area. Would definitely go back again. Beware, your clothes will smell like smoke a few days later - just wants to make you go back though!

This is our second day in a row of visiting Lamberts both times for lunch. I can’t say enough positives about the ambience, quality of service, quality of menu selection, and actual taste of everything we ordered. From top to bottom, I rate this a “must visit” restaurant when visiting Austin. We had two different servers both days, and both of them were impeccable in terms of their product knowledge and the courtesy.

I was "talked" into going here...I wanted to go to dinner at one of the classic pit style restaurants but my friend is a lush and couldn't stand the thought of going somewhere that didn't serve liquor. I am glad we did...at the waitress' recommendation, I got the smoked whole Angus rib...which came on a platter large enough for a moderately sized turkey. It was amazingly good. We also got the wild boar rib appetizer which was very tasty. And when you get a side...the mac n cheese is a must. And did I mention the live music? All in all a great meal

Ever have one of those meals where when you finish the last bite you just lean back and go ahhhhhh...? Treated my wife and bro and sis in law to a wonderful din. They all enjoyed the Prime Rib special and raved over the potato. I ordered the prime rib steak - basted with a mustard infused butter and finished off with a brown sugar demi glaze...ahhhhh. For a side I ordered grilled corn and pleasantly surprised when it was delivered as a salad. The beer (IPA) was ok, but I'm from Oregon and have high expectations. Great night.

First, let me begin with the service was great. The food was horrendous. It was the fattiest brisket I’ve ever tasted. The “buttermilk bread” was a slice of white bread. The Mac and cheese was by far the best thing on the table. I was floored by how bad the meat was no matter what the cost. However, the cost is very high making the whole meal a regret. Would not recommend this place to anyone. I was so embarrassed Bc I booked this place for out of town guest. I had to explain to them that real Texas BBQ is great- not sure why anyone is writing this place a good review. The chef and manager need to reviewed immediately. No way they are eating that food!!!

We managed to make a reservation at Lambert for 630pm on a Sunday evening based on a strong recommendation from a colleague of my Husband. Service was fast. From the time we were seated to when we paid the bill, it was an hour. We felt a little rushed in the entire dinner although we understand as there is a line outside the restaurant. Food was really good. We ordered the wild boar ribs to share. It was crispy with a tinge of spiciness. They were finger licking good! My Husband ordered the brisket. It was good but wasn’t as good as Terry’s BBQ. I ordered the spiced avocado salad which was surprisingly tasty! And of course we shared the baked mac n cheese which was delicious. Overall, we enjoyed the dinner and would return when we are back in Austin. The caramelised brussel sprouts smell delicious and the pulled pork looked awesome. It’s a short walk from JW Marriott where we stayed. Price was reasonable. We paid $90 before tips for all the food and 2 cocktails. Portion is on the small side but we aren’t big eaters to start with.

I was with a group of 8 people. Most everyone ordered barbecue, but since I'm not a big fan, I ordered one of the appetizers. The Achiote chickpeas and flatbread were very good! The group ordered 5 sides to share and that was plenty for all of us. The drinks are a bit pricey; I ordered a glass of wine after dinner instead of dessert...it was a pretty big tumbler full for $14. All in all a good place. But be aware that you will smell like wood smoke afterwards :)

Lamberts was recommended by our Austin local tour guide over the more famous BBQ places. It is a gourmet BBQ. The chef has injected complex but restrained flavors into the seasoning resulting in an extraordinary experience. Beef brisket was moist and tender (very unusual for this dish). The baby back ribs were tender and juicy. The boar ribs were definitely crispy. The sides were flavorful but light. Lamberts can easily win a star if Michelin comes to Austin.

Delicious, succulent pork ribs cooked to perfection, creamy family styled mashed potatoes topped with coconut creamed pies for dessert. The only thing we missed out on was the live music. This is a perfect way to start an Austin vacation!

Sunday brunch was stunningly delicious - texan sandwich carrying Pulled Pork with canadian bacon, jalapeños, cheese! The brisket sandwich, also delicious! Friendly and effective service! I exceed all our expectations! Ahhh and the decor and atmosphere, super stylish!

We chose this restaurant based on the reviews and the menu items. We were a little disappointed. We ordered brisket, which was ok. The taste of it was good, but it was somewhat cold. We also ordered a bunch of sides, including the baked beans, broccoli, fried okra and brussel sprouts. The okra was different as it tasted like it had a cornmeal coating. The sprouts were the best of all the sides, as the beans and broccoli had an overwhelming flavor of vinegar. Just not my thing... Drinks were average. I think there are better places in Austin for less money. Probably would not return.

Went here because they took reservations. Opted to eat family style. Had the short ribs which were amazing, brisket which was tender, not fat, and moist, and the country style pork ribs were tender and flavorful. Roasted Brussels sprouts had a sweet glaze and were excellent. Collard greens were not mushy and tasted very good. Baked beans were also excellent. Potato salad was good too. Cheese cake was solid but chocolate peanut butter pie was great. For what we got, price was pretty reasonable.

I thought we were going to a BBQ restaurant but this is a fancy sit down dinner place. Entrees are a la carte and a plate of brisket was $21 with nothing else but the meat. It was good but not great and the Mac and cheese was strange - like Velveeta cheese?

I hadn’t eaten meat for about a year, and, boy, was Lamberts the perfect place for me to dive back in! The staff bent over backwards for me, finding a semi-quiet place for my boyfriend and me. I’m soft-spoken, and in the midst of taking care of a dozen other parties of diners, the host relocated us a couple of times until he found a table where my boyfriend would be able to hear me. This was in front of the open kitchen. It didn’t seem like it would be quiet, but it was. I opted for a thick, delish pork chop, which the kitchen serves divided into thirds for ease of eating. It was perfectly cooked. The mac and cheese and beans were terrific. I hugely recommend this restaurant. I hope we get back to Austin. I would definitely go back to Lamberts.

To be fair- we visited on a Friday evening right after work hours and the bar was crammed with locals unwinding. There was also a wedding party taking up the entire upstairs portion of the restaurant. We were seated in a table right next to the bar. After a few minutes of having to yell at my spouse to be heard, I asked to be moved to a quieter table away from the bar (the downstairs restaurant area was about 1/3 full). She moved us down 2 tables stating they didn’t have the wait staff to service us in the main seating area- though I’m not sure why walking distance to our table made such a difference. Nonetheless I can excuse atmosphere if the food is good-which it wasn’t. I’ve been sampling the various BBQ establishments on an extended stay in Austin and expected this to match my expectations. Unfortunately the brisket was dry and tough- sopping it in the House BBQ sauce was the only way I could get it down. It struck me as being being cooked the day before and microwaved. He meal was also the most expensive we’ve paid for a brisket entree. On a bright note- our waiter was prompt and attentive, to the point of being apologetic for the noise. Perhaps this was just an off-day for Lambert’s, but we’re not going back- not recommending.

The food is just ok. The roast beef was good but the pork ribs, chicken and sides were underwhelming. I wouldn't go out of my way to visit this place. The ambiance is nice though.

Had a 9:15 reservation. Arrived @ 8:45 and was told we should be seated by 9. We went to bar for a drink. Bartenders are terrific and their specialty drink very good. At 8:55 hostess came over to say table will now be available at 9:15. That's OK since that was reservation time. At 9:30 I went to see hostess and she said people are now paying. Another 15 minutes until we were seated. I requested manager come to table and we explained situation and that we did not expect to order dinner at 9:45. He said sorry and left table. Waiter Will came over and we asked for him to return in a few minutes later. Which he did and we asked for bar tab cause it was now closing in on 10 and we were leaving. He came back from bar and said he was comping drinks. We stopped at bar left tip for bartenders. If manager would have offered something like waiter good chance we would've stayed for dinner.

I stopped for lunch and had a couple beers from the fine selection. I had the two meat barbecue plate with I picked the most succulent brisket and a nice size rib along with two sides. One been beans which I asked for a second helping and the slaw which was delicately dressed. I had a very attentive waiter who gave me great service. I will visit again but next time with family.

Visiting Austin for the UT game and wanted to give this restaurant a try. The three stars is because of the atmosphere and service was great. The menu is pricey based on the portions. The food was okay, but just nothing special especially for the cost. If you want great BBQ go to Terry Black’s Barbecue while in Austin!!!

This was the most delicious ribs I have ever tasted. can’t wait to get my shrimp and grits entree! Yummm

Housed in what looked to be a historic building, Lambert’s scores high in a number of areas: Atmosphere, service, vibe, and most important of all, food. Lots of great barbecue dishes to try, along with some excellent fish options. Good beer and wine selection. Not only was the meal very filling, but the BBQ aroma stuck to my clothes for a couple of days!

Was so excited to bring my family to eat some traditional Texas BBQ and all we got was a plate of YUCK! The little corn muffins served as a complimentary snack were appealing at site but were hard and cold, as if from the day before. The brisket was 50% fat (if not more) which made more than 1/2 plate the completely inedible. On an upside, the mac n cheese was delightfully cheesy and warm...and the ceviche was a fresh surprise as well. For BBQ this would not be the place to eat. For nice service and ambience..and mac n cheese you will be pleasantly pleased. Otherwise yuck.

A Great Local Bbq Joint in Downtown Austin. Visited during the Lunch Hour on Friday and was greeted with Outstanding Service and a good recommendation for Craft beer. Highly Enjoyed the St. Elmo’s Kolsch, and the Bbq Brisket Sandwich with Herbed Waffle Fries. Bartender was very helpful in recommending places to see on a Cold Day. Overall a good place to grab a beer and bbq in Austin.

It's amazing how differently people review the same restaurants! Our party of four showed up on a busy Thursday night. We were seated almost immediately, and even allowed to swap tables with another customer so we could dine outdoors. (The indoor vibe is very young and fun, but way too noisy for us oldsters who just wanted to have a real conversation.) Outdoors was perfect. Our server was pleasant and attentive but not hovering. We were served quickly. Our four had shrimp and grits, the brisket, and the cheeseburger with a side of collards. All were delicious! The grits were very rich but the shrimp was blackened to perfection. I highly recommend the collards with any of the entrees. Our friends also had a slice of the flourless chocolate cake--my nibble was scrumptious. Go there. You'll be glad you did!

I wanted barbecue for Father's Day but didn't want to wait in line. I Googled restaurants that take reservations and my daughter made the reservations. She also ended up paying for the dinner for the 4 of us (her boyfriend was with us) which was a pleasant surprise. (Her paying was the pleasant surprise, not the boyfriend.) I'll get right to the meat - best brisket I ever tasted. Others enjoyed their baby back ribs a lot but I was brisket smitten. We shared iceberg lettuce wedges with blue cheese to start. Turns each of us ordering meat was WAY too much food. We could have shared and/or gone without the salads. The mac and cheese side was outstanding, too. As was the broccoli side. Service was attentive and the cocktails were flowing. We ended up taking a ton of food home to feed three of us for lunch the next day and enough for another dinner for two. I don't want to put down Terry Blacks with its wait and cafeteria style. It's got its place. But I'm headed to Lamberts for barbecue next time.

Ordered the 2 meat plate with an extra serving of ribs to share between the two of us. Delicious! Jalapeño cornbread muffins were yummy. Cucumber fizz cocktail with gin was tasty as well. Thank you!

I will brief, when you go on a double date, I didn’t expect the waiter to look at my partner’s name on her credit card and add her on Facebook the next day. The food can be good but this is unacceptable.

We had Christmas Eve dinner at Lambert’s. Great place, delicious BBQ. Only attentiveness of the service was a bit disappointing.

Lamberts is FANTASTIC. In service and menu! I had my son's rehearsal dinner there in September. The staff that night from servers to the Special Events Planner - Blake were on top of everything. All I had to do was mention and it was done. They made planning long distance from South Carolina A Snap. I arrived and everything was just as I had envisioned and more. And . . .The food was loved by all! The Wild Boar Ribs - huge hit. The Shrimp appetizers - crowd fav! The upstairs room perfect for private event. Can't give them enough stars!

Not the most authentic, but they take reservations and the food and atmosphere are both very good. We had the mac and cheese, brisket, fries, and pulled pork. They were all tasty, as were the cocktails. Portions for sides are pretty huge. The location is also very convenient if you're staying downtown. You'll leave stinking of smoke, but I didn't mind much.

I WOULD RATHER BE WATER-BOARDED THAN EVER EAT AT LAMBERTS AGAIN!!! THIS is must be what happens when too many Californians move to Austin and or some kind vision of a BBQ joint Dystopian future from the twisted mind of Klaus Schwab. I ordered the 3 "Meat" Sampler. Sample Is right because I've been Fed more food at a Costco sample station! $37 Got me one cold ANOREXIC pork rib, One COLD, DRY flavorless piece of Brisket a hot link that I was too DISGUSTED to even try AND NO SIDES. An additional $9 got me a shallow ramekin of MARGINAL luke warm mac-n-cheese. The bartender asked me if everything was OK and I said absolutely NOT! ONE RIB? What is this? a Chris rock Bit? Told Them about the dry cold Brisket and said I'd like you please to take this back. I even offered did not have the mac & cheese taken away because I was starving and had a couple bites of it. The manager returned I said this isn't your liking and I no....did you look at it?! This is what $37 +9 dollars buys you in 2022? I wanted I take it off and to leave but she insisted that I replace it with something else. SO in haste I said, just bring me a half rack of pork ribs. Mind you I'm in TEXAS! The state is famous for their portions and SMOKED dry ribs. They soon returned a half rack of ribs that I you expected to be smoked. They were absolutely NOT smoked they were cooked in an oven clearly they had no smoke ring no smoke flavor and they were slathered in sticky sweet barbecue sauce reminiscent of KRAFT or the prepackaged ones at the grocery store. Additionally they were dry and overdone as in OVERCOOKED! I was starving at that point so I ate a couple of the ribs searching for pieces that have at least a smidgen of rendered fat so I could swallow them because I was running out of the Kolsch that I ordered. In summation: How dare you serve this in TEXAS and mendacity and GALL to call this barbecue. I've had better food at Disneyland and I'm not exaggerating. I will never eat here ever again and I don't think anyone else should either! This is what happens when the wrong people open BBQ or any for thst matter restaurants. I've been coming to Texas for a LONG time on business and and I eat barbecue every time I come here. I thought because of the by recommendation ambience and its proximity to where I was staying downtown I'd be OK. NO. I WAS NOT and NEVER again. If you want REAL TX barbecue go to Terry Black's or anywhere but Lambert's! I'm still disgusted dismayed and angry hours later and I plan to copy this same review anywhere else I can so no one else has to go through culinary culinary hell I went through when they simply wanted a good plate of barbecue in Austin Texas! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!

Worth a visit if you'd like a relaxed place with very nicely prepared food. Great staff. Perhaps a rifle pricey, but the whole downtown is these days.

A mixed experience. Loved the queso dip and the carrot-avocado salad. My pork ribs, however, were way too spicy with black peper and whatever else they put on it. I couldn't taste the meat. When I went to try the meat underneath, it was good, but overall I did not enjoy having the meat taste masked and my mouth was burning all the time. My wife liked her brisket, I thought it was good but average. A little annoying to have to climb a steep and long set of stairs to get to the restroom; yes, there is an elevator and it must be the world's slowest. Service was good. Nice atmosphere.

Nice restaurant in Downtown Austin. The brisket was very good as were the brussel sprouts. Nice to be able to get a reservation and be served. Can be a little noisy with music upstairs.

We were looking for a bbq place with a nice full bar! Lamberts fills this bill. We were lucky to arrive during happy hour....what a deal. Food was half price as well as cocktails. It has a fun vibe and everyone was friendly. The cocktails were perfect and the food was delicious! Pulled pork was fantastic...and the macaroni and cheese....oh my! We all enjoyed everything we ordered and would highly recommend a visit to Lamberts!

The ambience at this wonderful restaurant takes you back in time. We ordered the brisket, it melted in your mouth. The half chicken was so tender. Highly recommend

The people here were lovely. The ribs were excellent. The brisket tender, although a little dry. Overall feels quite expensive but would return.

I had the wild boar ribs appetizer and the beef rib for dinner. Both were excellent. The beef rib looked like a dinosaur leg - it was enormous and had what seemed like a pound of meat on it. The service was very good. My food, with tip, was around $70. Worth a splurge once in a while, but too expensive to be a regular hangout.

So tired of overpriced drinks and "meat". So, unoriginal and plain. Can't restaurants be creative anymore and serve something original and unique? There are plenty of 'good' restaurants, how about something unique that doesn't cost a fortune?

Great Happy Hour at the bar, a wonderful dinner menu, fabulous cocktails. This is a don't miss Austin spot.

We were recommended this place and booked in for our first dinner in Austin. Honestly it was a bit disappointing. We ordered the burger and the brisket. It’s a bit expensive for the barbecue element and this was probably the worst brisket we had during our visit South. It was dry and lacking in flavour. If you want authentic Texas barbecue, this is not the place to go. Staff were helpful and friendly.

We ate at Lamberts for the second time last night. Let me first say that the staff, from the hostess, to the bartender to our server, is top notch and very friendly. And then there's the food! Husband had the brisket and I had the pork ribs, joined with broccoli roasted with garlic and jalapeños (which were fantastic), baked beans simmered in some unwordly concoction and collard greens, which husband loved. Way too much food, but who cares? Five stars. Really.

The building goes back quite a ways... love seeing the pictures of what it used to look like. It would seem there was almost nothing around it back then, now... its in a sea of buildings right in the heart of downtown Austin. We highly recommend sitting at the bar if its just two of you, the food and drinks will come much quicker. In their defense, the second time we were there we had a new waiter who was still putting it all together. The bar has great cocktails! The food was EXCELLENT the first time we were there and not so amazing the second. Thus, we gave them the benefit of the doubt with 4 stars. The interior of the building was renovated really well. Enjoy!

We had dinner at Lambert's after some touring in Austin. We ate early because we had an evening tour but had reservations, which were probably necessary based on the business. As the name suggests, the menu is primarily BBQ with a few other choices. We both had the hanger steak, which was excellent. It had avocado and chimichurri, both of which worked very well. The service was OK....they were very busy. Prices are about average for the area.

This restaurant is amazing and delicious, the chicken had the best flavor and the ribs were fall of the bone. The bartender made the best margarita I’ve ever had!

The conference I was at had the evening dinner event at Lamberts and it didn't disappoint. They had a buffet set up with someone serving up different kinds of meat -- ribs, brisket, chicken, sausage. The meat was smoked, but not too smokey (I'll admit to not being the biggest BBQ fan). The sides were great -- especially the roasted Brussels sprouts and mac 'n cheese. I don't know how Lamberts is when it's just for dinner, but they did a great job for this event. And the food didn't disappoint.

Sister in town from Wisconsin. Wife and I took her to Lamberts and were not disappointed. We had brisket, pork ribs, and side of potatoes and brussel sprouts. Great food. Ribs the best I’ve ever had. Finished meal with banana pudding and coffee which was great too. Great atmosphere and awesome service by Jacob. I’ve been to Lambert’s once before for lunch.

Incredible food only out done by the service. The queso was sooo good and great chips/tortillas. We wanted to come back for dinner it was so good.

On our trip we had BBQ every day, If you are in downtown Austin - this is the best. Saw this place featured on Triple D and it lives up to its name. The burnt ends sandwich is to die for!

Three of us went for dinner during a conference, and hearing we wanted to try several dishes, the server suggested bringing everything family style. How thoughtful! The brisket is by far the best, followed by pulled pork and then ribs. The Brussels sprouts are best, followed by broccoli. Yum!

We met friends at Lambert’s for brunch. This required finding a parking lot a couple of blocks away as street parking is extremely limited in downtown Austin. We had a choice of downstairs or up. Upstairs had live music. We could hear it downstairs just fine. We ordered the breakfast platter of brisket or sausage, two sunny side up eggs, toast, and potatoes, Hollandaise sauce, Frito pie, and the breakfast sandwich. The main difference between the platter and sandwich was two verses one egg. Excellent beef brisket. Nice bark and fat line and then the meat. Good service. Restrooms are upstairs. I had my best brisket of the trip here at Lambert’s.

Went for lunch and was seated outside. The food was really good and the service was good. They were out of the fried oysters but everything else was delicious.

Good but heavy. Like this place but hard to go too often. Everything is loaded with oils and butter. Feel weighted down after eating. Sides are heavy too. Like it, but in limited visits.

I’d like to start on a positive note. The food was very good, although the portions were somewhat small and it took well over an hour for our entrees to come out. Our server was very sweet, attentive and apologetic without us having to say anything. The manager came over and apologized as well, and offered to comp our desserts. With that said, first impression really suffered. We arrived early to have cocktails at the bar and being that I’m a martini lover I noticed there were no martini’s listed on their speciality cocktail menu. Overhearing the conversation, the bar person interjected saying she could make anything, what kind of martini do I usually like? I said there are several but mentioned a cosmopolitan, feeling that was the most recognizable, at which point this young lady states “that’s not really a martini” and proceeded to educate me in a condescending tone about what a true martini was, made with either gin or vodka as if I’d never seen 007 order a martini (shaken, not stirred). Now, if I hadn’t been so taken back by her arrogant attitude, I would have informed her that I’m 60 yrs old and I’ve had many speciality martini’s from all over the world, from New York City to Rome, to Florence, Paris and S. Korea, just to name a handful; made by world class mixologists, so I honestly did not need a tutoring on what a true martini is made with, or how it’s made. Apparently, this young lady has never heard of a French martini, or an espresso or chocolate martini; obviously she’s never seen sex in the city and appreciates the ambience of a chilled cosmo in a proper martini glass. I mean, you haven’t lived until you’ve had a cucumber basil with elderflower martini from any fine restaurant in Napa Valley, CA. Plus, she’s clearly not been trained well enough to understand I’m the paying patron and should be treated with respect. The customer is no longer always right folks. Not to mention they didn’t serve their martini’s in a traditional martini glass, but in what I would call an old fashioned bowled style champagne glass. Based on our first impression and the hefty price tag, I would not be eager to support this establishment again.

The food was great! The biscuits are amazing and worth every calorie. Highly recommend them on your visit! Try the wild boar appetizer and get the bbq sampler. You won’t be disappointed! They offer live music upstairs too.

The whole EVERYTHING is bigger in Texas is all wrong when it comes to eating out downtown. I had the fried green tomatoes topped with crab for $16. It was more like a starter plate or appetizer rather than an entree. Fortunately I also ordered the mac and cheese along with the collard greens (they were only $4 each). The greens and the friend green tomatoes were REALLY tasty. The mac and cheese was just o.k. My husband ordered the two meat plate for $19, and he was disappointed in the one rib and brisket. His brisket was very salty and he just expected more bang for the Texas buck. Our drinks were supposed to be Arnold Palmer teas, but there was so much ice in them they were awful- we wasted six bucks on them as we did NOT drink them. The highlight of the meal was probably the desert we ordered the sopapilla cheesecake and the banana pudding and they were both outstanding and for ten dollars each- the size seemed adequate. Would we go back- no. It was a cool environment and Franklin's line was a two hour wait. My husband really wanted barbeque but Lambert's would not be our choice of good old fashion bbq. It's cool and trendy if you want to eat downtown.

Brisket, sides, hots sauces and big beers 🍺 Had heard this place was in the top 10 BBQ restaurants and we weren’t disappointed. Friendly staff and mood filled space Thanks Lambert’s

Delicious food. The brisket queso is a MUST! Friendly server. Loved the atmosphere & music played. Truly zero complaints.

Came twice - once for dinner without a reservation and were sat at bar and then two days later with reservation for a late lunch. Over the two days we sampled the “Pineapple Sour” cocktails and had the “Queso & Burnt ends” starter, Buffalo ribs, Steak Benedict and a Brisket sandwich All in all a great place for more up market BBQ

Wow! We had a great experience here for our anniversary. The staff was all amazing. Since it was our anniversary I decided to splurge and get the ribeye in addition to a lot of other yummy stuff! I have never said “this is so good” during any meal in my life. The steak was seriously amazing. I am not a BBQ expert and a lot of people try to compare Lambert’s to the other more casual options (which we didn’t try). Is it the best “BBQ” in all of Austin? I have no clue but the food was absolutely amazing and the steak is one I’ll remember forever!

it was a great experience visiting and dining in this place! I wish I can go there again! The price was also reasonable.

Fun downtown restaurant for upscale BBQ. The heirloom carrot and avocado salad was original delicious with the crispy seeds and citrus vinaigrette. Our favorite dish was their version of shrimp and grits. Smoky and creamy with crunchy fennel on top - so good. The spare ribs were good, meaty and cooked perfectly. Don’t order the broccoli it is a waste. Save room for the coconut cream pie which is fabulous! Very Noisy and we waited a long time for our food but service was great. Would definitely go back.

Finally a clean inside barbecue place you can actually dine in. Barbecue is barbecue is barbecue. Many times it’s the atmosphere and ambience that make it a fine dining experience. You can expect that here. The size or at you barbecue is barbecue is barbecue. Many times it’s the atmosphere and ambience that make it a fine dining experience. You can expect that here. The side dishes are not run of the mill either. Recommended

Great place to enjoy bbq on a downtown patio. Food was good. Cocktails were a little heavy on the crushed ice and service was adequate. I was unhappy with one aspect of my meal and they offered me 25% off my bill to make up for it. Overall food was good but there may be more authentic bbq's in Austin to try first.

We ate here as a work group. This place has a great environment, and fantastic service. 5/5. With that said the food was just OK. It definitely is not 5/5 by any means. It maybe was bc there was some confusion on what we wanted the preset menu as. However, for the price I was disappointed in the quality of BBQ

Great dinner, had both ribs and brisket, mac and cheese. It was more than the 3 of us could eat. We were there on a Tuesday night so it wasn't full and we were seated immediately.
