One of the best Mexican meals I have ever had! Simply amazing food. One of the best waiters ever as well. His name was Paulino. The carnitas were the best I've ever eaten. The shrimp appetizer was delicious. Excellent guacamole too We're going back for a second time in spite of the huge number of choices we have.

We really liked our experience here. We managed to secure a walk in table on a night the Padres were playing, so the Gaslamp area was packed. It was also (cheap) taco Tuesday night, so naturally we had them, plus a serving of guacamole. The guacamole was good. A mix of mashed and chunky avocados. We assumed the tortilla chips were house made, as they were clearly not the usual commercially made type often supplied. We tried the fish, chicken and shrimp tacos. All were good, with the chipotle chicken being our favourite. We both agreed that at Las Hadas we had the best service in 4 days of eating out and about in San Diego. Thanks to the super enthusiastic Gabby for looking after us so well.

So, after trying to eat (unsuccessfully) at next door's La Puerta, which "door" we did not even manage to get past, my 14 yo son and I thought we would soothe our thirst for Mexican in SD at next door's Las Hadas... Well, what do you know that, when faced with a 30 to 45 min wait, when I informed the hostess that we were hungry and I asked to be allowed in to go get some appetizer at the bar she impeded me from doing that citing the dubious justification that minors are not allowed at the bar. I clarified AGAIN that I only wanted to get some guacamole, and she refused to let us/me in past the closed glass door and obligated us to wait. Despite my being furious, the hostess made no effort to go get us some guacamole and bring it to us outside (which would have been the customer-oriented courteous and problem-solving attitude that any reasonable person would have done). Instead, she chose to play the "rule enforcer" and took visible solace in that role... I would have walked away from this place right then, but we decided to wait anyway... Once allowed in and the glass door was opened, we were hit in the face by a level of noise like you would not find at a live football game when it's 4th and goal from the 1-yard line for the winning TD and 2 sec to go in the game! The place was so amazingly loud that my son and I could not hear one another even after being seated... That was it – we walked. not sure if this a trademark of the Gaslamp District or what, but if one is coming to the area to eat with family, just stay away from these premises. With regard to the outrageous attitude of the hostess, I can only say that customer care makes all the difference, and the art of finding a solution that salvages the alleged rule in this case and yet meets the need of the customer was not something that the hostess had – either in her repertoire or her blood. And that made a world of difference... Even if you decide to walk past the glass door, be sure to bring ear plugs and be masterful at sign language if you plan to carry a conversation and walk out without a massive headache. We, of course, will never be back...

This is the place you have to be. Great food, frendley staff! I wood be back!☺ if i'am back in san diego

We went in with a group and while we called ahead, there was plenty of room and very good service for our party. Drinks were enjoyable and food was above average. Would go back.

Friday night in San Diego, we stopped in for dinner. We had no trouble finding a table. Staff were friendly and helpful. Drinks were good, medium priced but the food was exceptional. The marinated meat dishes are wonderful. Flavorful, well presented and well seasoned. AS good as we've had.

After our first choice of mexican restaurant didn’t work out we went to Las Hadas just based on appearances. It was a busy Friday night without reservations so we sat at the bar to avoid a wait. Bartender gave us great service while handling all of the restaurant drink orders. Had the shrimp taco plate and vegetarian quesadilla, both were very good and large portions. We thought it was a great choice without knowing much about the place and would recommend it to others.

Took our 5 kids here and had a tasty meal. Very good, cheerful service, fantastic chips, margarita, fish tacos, fajitas. Excellent - so glad we tried it!

I was built up with excitement for eating at this restaurant. Saw photos and reviews on them. I was happy to wait in line to eat there. First of all the loud noise was crazy. I am glad I had ear buds with the quiet ability. Still not 100 percent on cutting the noise back. My steak was ok and tender. My wife’s taco meat was salty. No our cup of tea. We won’t go back.

This has been one of my favorite bars and restaurants for quite some time. The drinks are very strong and the bartenders do a great job along with the waitresses that will take great care of you. Well run place. Even late at night up to midnight the food is awesome!!! The steak strips are so good and shrimp!!!

Great food! Great service! Happy hour too! Outdoor seating, indoor seating, tvs, everything you need! Tuesday is Taco Tuesday.

I ordered their Enchilada Del Mar and Coconut Shrimp and both were tasteful. Their enchilada is a homemade crepe, shrimp, pico de gallo, and roasted tomatillo salsa for $12 and their coconut shrimp is for $7. The enchilada plate could have been a little more for the price.

You will find great authentic Mexican food. Great prices and they have happy hour the whole day!!!! This was a great find...

walked in, service was pleasant, food nice even though portions were huge .... but no complaints . a very good lunch

Food was good. Second worst margarita I’ve ever had in my life. Then ordered a beer but was >50% head

Our last night in the US and we booked this last minute. Really buzzy atmosphere. We were made very welcome and the cocktail list was very inviting. The nachos with guac etc were delicious as a starter. My teenage boys had ribs and fajitas. Very fresh and tasty. I chose the steak. Best I'd had all trip. Couldn't fault the service or food. Highly recommend and a great place to finish our trip. Thanks.

I got the recommendation for this grill from the local hostel. The atmosphere was great, the food perfect and the price appropriate for happy hour. As a single woman I sat on the patio feeling well-taken care off by the staff and local patrons. Go during happy hour to get the special appetizer and drinks deal. The appetizer portions are enough for a meal. Awesome staff and service too.

We came in at 7:30pm on a Saturday and was given a great four top in corner without people on one side. Much appreciated! But between the piped in music and the amount of people, only shouting across the table was hearable. Not the place for a quiet romantic dinner. But, the the quality of the entrees, grilled fish tacos and carne asada fijitas in this case, saved the day! Both were were well seasoned and delicious. The service was friendly and attentive. We would try Las Hadas Grill again, but perhaps not on a Saturday night between 7pm and 8:30pm

This was recommended to me by a friend. The tropical ceviche was outstanding. The tacos on taco tuesday were very yummy. The service was outstanding. The prices are very reasonable. We ate here twice so far this week and may visit once or twice more for lunch. The tacos carne asada tacos did have a little back end heat which some may find off putting but I really enjoyed. I will update as I try more items on the menu.

Visited in on the Friday of SDCC as we were after Mexican food, and with one vegetarian and a gluten free person we pose several problems. The server was really kind and totally able to explain the GF menu to me, and the manager was also brought over to ensure everything was explained properly. God and drink was AMAZING. We all had a cocktail and they were so nice, and the food was brilliant. I’ve eaten at several Mexican places in SD over the years, and this was the best. The fish tacos were so soft and flavoured perfectly, and the rice and beans also paired well. Every one of us felt the same about it. Las Hadas, next time I’m over, I’ll be back for sure!

We tried to get into La Puerta restaurant next door, but there was a 45 minute wait. Decided not to wait. Wish we had in some senses. The food was delivered hot, but wasn't great. Liked the rib sauce, ribs were stringy. Liked the Adobo rub on the wings, they were fatty and tough. Wouldn't give them a second try.

The atmosphere was awesome. Also Excellent customer service. Great really was food. Thank you so much.

Fantastic food, great service, and a margarita I came back for the following night! (Mi Gente Margarita) We absolutely loved this place!

Staff was friendly, service good and the food was very good as well. Prices were great, and there were many specials running as well on drinks. Also had a great atmosphere/vibe. Only negative was the tortilla soup - pretty weak. It didn’t know whether it wanted to be a chicken soup or tortilla soup. Real tortilla soup should not have big chunks of carrots and celery in it and taste like a chicken broth.

Overall very good and good prices on Taco Tuesday. My tacos were too spicy for me and I don't recall seeing anything on the menu that would imply they were spicy; c'est la vie at least they were very cheap (I couldn't even eat my second one). Guacamole was very good and drinks were good and some unique offerings. Can get pretty loud inside but they had fun music playing.

Nice Mexican Restaurant (surrounded by many other Mexcian Restaurants) in the Gaslamp area. We tried the Soft Chicken and Fish Tacos here. Generous portions and decent pricing per the quality/quantity and the area :)

Came here last night for Taco Tuesday. Also happened to be my birthday. What better way to celebrate than with cheap beer and delicious parcels of Mexican goodness. I only tried the chicken (pollo) and steak (carne) tacos. Could easily have eaten ten of them, they were that good, but I didn't want to get greedy, so had two of each. I like my food to kick hard so lathered the hot sauce on, even tho they probably would have been just as good without. Service was great and waitresses were every bit as attentive as they were pretty to look at. One was kind enough to give me a scoop of ice cream with a candle, nice touch, although I'd have preferred another one of their delicious tacos. Nom.

We had an awesome experience there! Mexican food very tasty!! The waiters and the service were so nice. Alen, our waiter, was so attentive and helpful! They have a big variety of drinks and good Latin music on! Such a recomendable place to have a fun night and eat great food, all for a very reasonable price. Thank you Las Hadas!!

Our last evening in San Diego and we decided to go for a ‘Nice’ Mexican. We ordered a starter to share and two mains but, to our surprise, the starter arrived before the drinks and the mains arrived around 5 minutes later. So we were in a situation where we had to leave the starter halfway and start on the mains so that they don’t get cold! When we pointed this out to the server and to the waitress who took our order, they both shrugged their shoulders and told us that we should have mentioned at the start that we wanted the main served after our starter was done- isn’t that a given? Finally, a third lady arrived and when we reported the same thing to her, she tendered an apology (which seemed far from genuine) and then took the nachos off our bill. Unfortunately, the evening had been spoilt by then! Having got into the habit of tipping 20-25% in America, this was one place we certainly did not feel like doing so!

Great luck I went on Tuesday - it was Taco Tuesday. Cheap but very good tacos!! Great staff and comfortable!!

Good quality food, had the beef fajitas and they hit the spot nicely. Much quieter than the next door restaurant so was pleasantly surprised

We really enjoyed our visit last night. We were pleasantly surprised to hear about the drink specials and happy hour pricing. I enjoyed the house margaritas and the service was excellent. My chicken fajita plate was tasty and sizzling hot. My husband's burrito was a large serve that even he couldn't finish. We loved it all!

We were down in the gaslamp district and a nice guy outside asked us to come in for dinner. I’m so glad that we did. This was a great place. Our server was wonderful and anticipated all of our needs before we could ask. Now that’s service. We had a lobster quesadilla as an appetizer. It was great. Then we eat had fish tacos for dinner. Then we had the fried ice cream for dessert. What a great dinner and so glad that we came.

I went to San Diego this past weekend and we were told the that Las Habas had the BEST mexican food. Well I am a goodie. I love good food. And to say that these shrimp tacos were delicious is an understatement. They were amazing. The rice is placed in the taco and the shrimp is on top of the rice! I liked that! There was was so much shrimp!! Love love love love it! The service was great as well.

Yes! $10 lobster dinner special on Mondays! WOW! Lobster was amazing and loved all of the flavors of the rice served with the lobster :) This also comes with a side of black beans, melted butter for your lobster and tortillas. This is the BEST deal for a lobster dinner and it was SO delicious! I can’t wait to come back and tell my friends and colleagues that are in the area. My server Matthew was super friendly and the service was outstanding!

If you are tired of paying top dollar at San Diego restaurants, this is your place! Very informal (and crowded) - a hang-out for "twenty-somethings", but still a good place to eat - warning! The music is LOUD! Food is very good; they do have a full Mexican menu, but also offer non-Mexican dishes - very reasonably priced!

My boyfriend and I came here after being told there was an hour wait at La Puerta. We walked in and were a little turned off by the interior, but the employees were delightful. My boyfriend wanted to leave but I'm stubborn and told him we needed to try new things. We were both VERY happy we stayed. While the service was a little slow, it was made up for with the delicious food. Seriously, that was the best quesadilla I've ever had in my life and I was VERY sad when it was all gone. My boyfriend had the carne asada soft tacos and the meat was cooked and seasoned perfectly. I would recommend this place to anyone!

The food was amazing especially the Camacho fire! It was to die for. The Mojito was sooo refreshing. The staff couldn’t do enough for us and were so friendly. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

Why are there 2 Mexican restaurants right next to each other? No idea. But don't wait 45 minutes at La Puerta, go right next door to Las Hadas Grill and have a great meal. Wonderful server. Wife mentioned allergic to seafood, Manager (Owner) came out, got involved, made sure she did not get ill. Great drinks, fantastic warm chips, great fajitas. Beats waiting any time.

We stopped in for drinks and an appetizer. The Jalapeno Margarita was made just right, muddled with basil, and the perfect heat! My daughter in law had Sangria, which she said was great, too. The guacamole was perfection - chunky, spicy, fresh, with delicious heated chips! Hit the spot!

Service was good. But just a heads up after about 9 it seems to become more of a bar. Which is fine. Just unexpected on our part. It was loud. Hard to talk but overall service was good and food was good. I’d try it again

We loved Las Hadas! The restaurant has a very cool, chic vibe that still feels welcoming. It was clearly a place where locals frequent intermixed with some tourists. The hostess and wait staff were very friendly and helped make menu recommendations. We ordered the margarita flight because it was too cool to pass up! All four flavors were great. We each ordered a house special taco and a surf/turf taco. We both agreed the house special taco was the best. Come hungry! The portions are huge. Everything that people ordered around us looked great too.

Late afternoon lunch. Really good food - had a spicy shrimp appetizer, as well as nachos. Main course was a slow roasted chicken that had a bit of a kick to it but was excellent. Would definitely recommend.

As we were a large party of 15, Las Hadas could accommodate late reservation. We shared tacos and guacamole dips as well as tostada terrace salad. My ceviche was too limey. Quite a few of us ordered enchilada del mar, which was disappointedly too cheesy and heavy. I ended up digging for the shrimps and lobster pieces from the gluey cheese layer. Atmosphere was great though and some of us enjoyed our selection. But for me, food was disappointing.

Went there for their Monday special $10 lobster, they ran out but they offered us a larger lobster for $17. The food was tasty, good value even though we didn't get their $10 special. H Hour special every day though we didn't try it as we were too late.Their salsa that they put on the table was also excellent. They have seating outside as well. I'd go back again if we're back in San D.

Please get the guacamole here! It tasted super fresh, chunky, and the chips came out warm and crispy. They give you a ton of guacamole, we had to ask for another round of chips since we had so much left! I also loved the “Enchilada Del Mar” which is the seafood option. I wasn’t sure what to expect with lobster and shrimp being in an enchilada but I was very pleasantly surprised by it. The sauces on top and inside all complimented each other very well and I would definitely order again. Had more of a bar/club vibe, but everyone was super nice and some even offered to take pictures for us.

Awesome presentation of the steak and onion dish. I wasn't too impressed with the overall atmosphere I think I'm going to go with some of the other delicious restaurant options in the area next time, this place just doesn't hold up to the some of the other Mexican places around here.

Yummy fish tacos and great atmosphere. Sat outside and stayed warm due to heaters. Pleasant, attentive and helpful staff. Would highly recommend

Staff excellent, food very nice. We found portion size too much but cannot fault taste and flavour. If we went back we would share fajitas but cooked to perfection.

Great enchiladas and friendly staff, enjoy a tasty traditional Paloma and watch the night live scenery around. And surprisingly no waiting time

We enjoyed a great Mexican meal for dinner. Great menu selection. Very friendly and competent staff. Will return when we are back in the Gaslamp Quarter.

We wandered into this restaurant and were really glad we found it. The food was really good and very reasonable for the area. Six of us ate, all had drinks for under $150.00. Service was friendly. We had a question about a Tequila and the manager came over and explained some Tequila facts to us, even shared a taste with us.

Food was good, god portions, reasonable prices and server was very nice! It was also walking distance from our hotel. Would definitely return.

Visited here on a Monday night for a quick bite to eat. The place next door was rammed but reviews for this place were better so went in here. Food was incredible and massive portions. Nice free extra starter of fried cornbread balls. Only not giving it a 5 star as the barman was standing on the bar to clean the shelves behind the bar. Only a minor thing but really should be done out of hours.

We were attempting to eat at the restaurant next door, but were told there would be an hour and a half wait. Las Hadas had some tables available and 5 minutes left for Happy Hour, so we decided to check it out. Great drinks, food, and service! Our waitress was awesome and brought us a free appetizer in addition to the guacamole we ordered. Lots of flavor in the food and very fresh. Happy Hour lasted until 7:00 so the $5 margaritas were nice too. Definitely recommend trying Las Hadas!

My daughter and I came here because there was a wait at the restaurant next door. We both enjoyed our lunches. I had the Mahi-Mahi tacos with a side of black beans. The fish was tender, the toppings were delicious, and the corn tortillas were fresh. My daughter had the chicken quesadilla with lots of cheese and guacamole. The food came out fast, and the service was very good.

Came here for drinks and snack. Drink was great food was average. We really wanted to order another drink but the service was terrible. Took 25 minutes + for the waitress to complete a tasks we asked of her. Finally decided to ask for the check which took another 30+ minutes for her to bring. The restaurant was not even busy. Extremely disappointed never again

Lots of places around this are that are bars and serve only bar food. This was the only reasonably price place that serves a nice steak. Other steak places are about twice price. Also the other places in the area seem to be bars or restaurants. This is a nice blend of both.

We stopped in for a casual dinner. We had drinks and tacos. The service was friendly, atmosphere was fun, and food was good but nothing special. It's located in the gaslamp distric which is good for bar hopping.

I love Mexican food but tend to steer clear because of food allergies. On a visit to SD we came upon Las Hadas and the ladies on the desk showed me the G/F options so we decided to give it a try . The manager also checked things out with us too and gave recommendations. Had a delicious meal, washed down with some excellent Margaritas. Very reasonably priced too. Would definitely recommend . Friendly staff and buzzing atmosphere

Stopped in on a whim. Turned out to be the best Mexican meal I've had in a long time. Service a little slow, but we'll worth it.

Good food, good service but for a couple wanting to eat and talk it was a little too loud even without having a full house. I would go back if I was on my own and wanted to eat and watch sports.

Located right in the gaslamp district. Perfect outside seating to people watch from. Food was delicious and dilling. Seating was quick and service was good. Server was friendly and gave good recommendations off the menu.

I have to come here every time I travel to San Diego. They have the most amazing food. Their own special twists on every dish. Try the tacos for sure. Any type will do.

Nice surprise when I was given 2 hush puppies compliments of the chef. They were amazing. The ceviche was very good. If you don’t like cilantro you may want to ask them to go easy. But I loved it (I did get it with no tomatoes or onions). The enchiladas were also very good. Too much food but so yummy. Service was very nice!

Started off with the El Patron margaritas and the nice chunky guacamole which were good then I had a seafood relleno and husband had fajitas. We also had a salad with almonds which was really delicious. The staff were really friendly and listened to our requests. A nice place for dinner.

Ate here with family of 4 adults and a toddler and we all found it to be extraordinary! One member of our group is on a restricted diet and doesn't eat seafood, she said that the chicken tacos were the best she ever ate! The rest of the group ate various seafood dishes and all were very happy with the food. The service was great, the chef came out to speak to us! The hostess asked what the toddler's favorite food was and came our with a (free) bowl of strawberries after we said that was her favorite food. The waiter took the time to tell us about best beaches and other touristy things to do. If we are ever in San Diego again, we WILL eat here!

We split fajitas, trio chips and salsa and chili rellenos. All was great and tasty! Nice atmosphere. Full bar if interested. In the Gaslamp area

I don’t eat Mexican food a lot, so I couldn’t tell you if it was great Mexican or not. I can tell you that I rally enjoyed the ceviche, chips and guacamole and my entree lobster and steak taco. Contemplating going back again today. I highly recommend.

Very good mexican food. I loved the fajitas and craft beers. Warm welcome, and nice terrace. Beer tasting for better choice : thumbs up.

absolutely awesome. great food, super friendly staff and a lovely atmosphere. the fish tacos are delicious! food came out quickly and prices were reasonable and definitely worth it. highly recommended and we will be coming back for sure.

Went here on a taco Tuesday, what looked like the manager told us that the menu was using the QR code, as we are from overseas we had no coverage to look at it, he then without hesitation used his phone to access the menu, and left us with it to choose our food, what an amazing person, showing this kind of trust to complete strangers. The food was very good too, and all the staff friendly, would definitely recommend.

Went here with a fairly large group of friends. The food was excellent and the wait staff very attentive and friendly. Would recommend again.

We were actually planning to go to a restaurant next door but it was too loud so we stopped here...so glad we did! We had tacos, 4 different ones & we both loved them. So fresh & delicious!

We ate here during happy hour on a week day. Seating was quick, staff friendly. While waiting for our food, fried cornbread balls were delivered, compliments of the chef. The happy hour fish tacos and steak/chicken skewers were delicious. Nice atmosphere and great food.

I’m in San Diego for ASU GSV Summit and wanted to go to a Mexican restaurant with unexpected vegetarian options. I really liked the Roasted Relleno with quinoa and corn and black beans. The flavors of the sauce were delicious. The staff were very attentive and it was quick service. Worth the 30 minute walk.

Is a good place to star your night with some food in your stomach, but is not a place to pick either for good food or a special occasion; is moreon the bar side then restaurant; the ambiance is good but it lack on apparense and cleanes of the place.

Quaint Nicely decorated, clean, comfortable. Found Las Hadas during our first visit to San Diego a couple of years ago. It was awesome then and just as excellent now. A must visit when we returned to San Diego last week. Service was great. Friendly, attentive, courteous and professional. Service with a smile. Food and drinks, perfectly prepared and absolutely delicious. We ordered burrito, chips and guacamole, nachos, chicken fries, carne asada quesadillas, ribeye, fish tacos, etc… Best traditional flan and deep fried ice cream we’ve had. Food so good, we had to return another time before we left San Diego. Highly recommend and definitely a must visit during our next visit to San Diego.

I have always loved wandering thru the Gaslamp but my budget is more appetizers and happy hours. Pre-pandemic the hostess had given me a card for complimentary chips & salsa trio so I could have their Monday night lobster special & I meant to get back but never did. So now in pandemic times I was on the look for outdoor dining and happy hour and found both here on Taco Tuesday. Besides the good house made chips and salsas I ordered 2 shrimp tacos that were $1 off and a $5 draft XX Lager. The server Andrea informed me of the taco price which was $1 higher than it showed on-line so she got the manager & he graciously gave me the discounted price. I very much enjoyed sitting in the expanded area outside and the flavors of the food was delicious and very filling. This is a family owned & operated business in the Gaslamp.

This was the first time we have ordered Carne Asada fries and they were addicting. Our waitress was incredible personable and just highlighted an already great experience. The food was all very good! I know that we plan on coming back to this place.

This was the hightlight of my trip.. Amazing food. the scalloped potatoes was an incredible for starter. The drinks the food and the service excellent

In town for a conference. Stopped by for a happy hour cocktail and appetizer. Food and service were great

We visited San Diego on business for 5 days. The food, margaritas and service was so good we went back two more times! Owner Freddie and his staff are friendly, proud and very dedicated to their service. Family owned and operated which is a huge draw for us, we have been to Mexico and search for great Mexican food and drinks in all the states we travel to and Las Hadras was by far the best in every way.

We were in the Gaslamp District of San Diego and were looking for a place which offered happy hour and good food. The restaurant was very vibrant. As for the Happy Hour, even though it is advertised and has a separate menu. The drinks appear to be the hit (draft beer at $3, margaritas at $5), however the food while very tasty did not have the price break we were expecting. A variety of entrees were offering at around $8.

Love to go to all day Happy Hour here on Sundays. I go to downtown San Diego almost every weekend and this is one of my favorite Happy Hour venues. Gotta love the $3 Tecate beer and all you can eat chips and salsa!

From the moment we walked up to the restaurant the manager and staff was welcoming. Our congenial server suggested specialty food items and helped us with our gluten free needs. The bartender was serving up $5.00 house margaritas. There menu is loaded with interesting seafood - Mexican options like lobster tacos. But we tried the grilled chicken, carne asada, and pork carnitas tacos. The portions are rather large - you won’t go hungry. Although all were tasty, the carnitas were exceptionally good. The offer traditional tacos or tropical tacos. The tropical had mangos and other additions. I tried 1 of each. I really like the carne asada tropical taco. The chips and salsa were outstanding. The restaurant has a good bar area, a large indoor dining room, and a small patio/street seating. Sidewalk seating was perfect.

We were a very large group, 19, looking for a diverse place that would appeal to kids and adults. The restaurant was very accommodating and the service was excellent. The waiter and chef went out of their way to provide for a gluten free member of our party as well as went out of their way for the kids. Great place to have a meal.

Superb staff! Advised me on the margarita i had as all others i previously had in u.s. were crap! Fabulous fish tacos !.. shout out to the chefs!

Had a wonderful meal with chips & guacamole to start with…from there it was drinks, burritos and tacos. Great service and perfect location. Other restaurants we wanted had 45 minute wait and this was a solid immediate seating.

Lovely staff. We were there for taco Tuesday. The tacos were a good size, we were surprised. Flavour could have been a bit more intense but it was good quality.

We stopped in to sample their happy, but we're quickly surprised by the poor service. I was brought a cocktail with a cracked glass and asked for a new one. The waiter asked if it was leaking...no its not. Then brought me back a drink that was half made. We decided to go next door at La Puerto instead.

Stopped by with my son and enjoyed guacamole and chips; corn fritters and steak and lobster tacos. Food was delicious and service excellent. I would totally come back here!!!!

We aimed another Mexican but were not disappointed. Huge nachos, delicious wings with blue cheese and fine tacos with seabass.

Entering from busy 4th Street, the decor was bright and uplifting but the atmosphere was quiet. We had made reservations for 6:15 but did not need them, although the restaurant filled while we were there. We did not realize it but several of the items we ordered were Happy Hour specials, an added bonus. The Guacamole was delicious and the serving was quite large. Our tacos were also very good. The service was excellent. Taking all into consideration, we had a very enjoyable dinner.

I was in San Diego for a conference recently and on our free night we went to the gaslamp district. Once we parked we saw a local woman walking by and asked where her favorite restaurant was and she directed us here. It happened to be happy hour so we decided to go check it out. We are so glad we listened to her. The staff is so nice and friendly, the food was delicious, you get a lot of food and the happy hour prices are great.

Two of us ate at this restaurant upon a recommendation from a hotel concierge. We were delighted with it. Good margaritas and delicious food. It was Taco Tuesday night and we each had three tacos at half the regular price. Carne aside taco, chicken taco, and carnitas taco. Plus very tasty chips and salsa. Had a wonderful server who was very attentive and took extra time to explain the menu and the specials to us.

One of our party has a gluten allergy and Las Hadas has a separate menu and staff are very in tune with allergies and the manager stopped by the table to ensure we were comfortable and taken care of. All food and the staff were 5 stars and we could not be more pleased. Food was fresh, flavorful and excellent. Wish we had a restaurant like this were we live! Will be back every time we visit.

The concierge at my hotel recommended Las Hadas, and she was right. It has a very loose and friendly vibe; my server Jereme and the manager Alan were extremely helpful and treated me like an old family friend. I ordered the Camacho Fire Grilled Shrimp, which sounded good on the menu but it surpassed my expectations. It was one of the best meals I've had in years. I highly recommend this and I thank Jereme, Alan and the rest of the staff for being so great.

So good. Everything we tried was delicious. The tacos are huge, so don’t go crazy ordering too many. Maybe the best guacamole I’ve had in years. The staff was very friendly. Great service.

First visit to this restaurant and we went there based on good reviews and that they catered for celiacs. Right from the start all the staff gave their utmost attention to my wife to ensure that she was given the correct meal. After a few hiccups, the meal came out. We both enjoyed what we had. In my opinion I’ve had more tasty Mexicans however it was perhaps my choice of main, overall it was good

We were planning to go to La Puerta for dinner since it was rated so highly, so we were really bummed when we got there and saw they were closed for a private event. Las Hadas employees were outside trying to get customers in for $2 taco Tuesday. I'm always a bit skeptical when I see so much hustling, but we were hungry and really wanted Mexican, so we gave in, and boy are we glad we did. There are only 3 types of tacos that are $2, so we tried one of each (carnitas, fish and chicken). Each taco was a very generous portion of rice, pineapple, meat, sauce etc. The carnitas and the fish were good, but the chicken was out of this world. We also got $2 beers, so the bill came out to a very reasonable amount, and we were totally stuffed. Our server, Abby, was so friendly and super quick!! Will definitely come back here next time we're in San Diego!

great food and great service. prices one can afford. do go during happy hours which is from 7pm to 12am. won't regret.

Came here as the place we wanted to go to had a 45min table wait. Great thing we did though as the food was incredible. Had guacamole to start which was easily the best I've had in ages. Fajitas and burritos for mains which were awesome. And a cheeky Mahi Mahi taco as it was taco Tuesday! It's a loud and boisterous place but that's just the way it is. Have a few drinks and some good food!

Hungry from our train trip from L.A., we wandered into Las Hadas enticed by the thought of tasty fish tacos with beans and rice. What we had was very disappointing. Both the fish tacos and the vegetarian tacos lacked any relationship to normal, spicy Mexican food. It was as though someone forgot to add the chili. We left without a desire to return.

The recommended house Margarita is expensive but worth every penny! or you can just choose the Cadillac for half the price. The Fajitas and especially the Nachos are a must have!! We love this family owned place the food and service are always excellent!

Great margaritas! Especially the spicy one and the coronarita! Great tasting nachos and the little added hush puppies were delicious. Excellent service from Mathew!

Recommended by the lovely bartender at the Hopping Pig bar nearby, the tacos were awesome whatever you choose, staff and atmosphere amazing,a must in San Diego.

Delicious and ample portions. Great attention to my gluten free needs :-) the relleno with shrimp was to die for. The margarita flight was delicious but pricey. The husbands Buffalo chicken fries were humongous and delicious. My only suggestions is a washroom renovation— the ladies stalls were uber small and my 5’6” knees were practically touching the door.

We enjoyed a nice mexican dinner at Las Hadas , a very complete menu. Starting aperitivo was a bit dry and tasteless. Said that the main dish was delish, I had mahi mahi , very well cooked fresh and with a tasty sauce with shrimp, tomato and mushroom.

Our party of four walked around the Historic Gaslamp District looking for the perfect place for lunch. Some places seemed soooo loud and crowded! I'm convinced we landed on Las Hadas by divine intervention because it was the PERFECT place for us! Dined outside (of course!) The Shrimp Ceviche was amazing! Guacamole was excellent! The Marinated Skirt Steak was so tender, you could easily cut it with a fork. Margaritas and Mojitos were yummy! Our waiter (Matt) had a great personality and took great care of us. Nothing but GREAT things to say about this place!

Always a happy surprise when you go in with modest expectations and get a great meal instead! We sat outside in the BEAUTIFUL San Diego weather and really enjoyed the fare. Alex steered us to the Three Amigos Fajitas (we had carne asada, shrimp and lobster.) All delish and the lobster was about the best I ever had. The Cadillac margaritas are also pretty tasty. Good drink deals at happy hour. Give it a try,

Veggie tacos were amazing. Staff was very friendly and they were very knowledgeable with celiac disease. Take all the necessary precautions to avoid cross contamination. Would absolutely recommend!!

The staff is knowledgeable about celiac and reducing cross contact with gluten. It has been a while since I've had such a stress free meal. In addition, the food was great! The entire family enjoyed the whole experience.

Came here after not wanting to wait in line for other places...good Mex food, great fish tacos, reasonable, very friendly staff

There were 5 of us in the party and each one had something different and we all were licking our chops. In actuality, the group wanted to go back again the next night. We had 2 teenagers and originally we tried to get into La Puerta, which is next door, but teenagers cannot get in after 3. We had heard that La Puerta was phenomenal. Go to Las Hadas, the waitresses/bartenders were very pleasant and accommodating. Food was Delicious and pretty inexpensive.

I paid around $19 for 2 tacos and a cup of coffee. I don't even understand how that happened. I guess they upcharged me because I asked for 1 shrimp taco and 1 mahi mahi taco rather than 2 of each. I found the mahi mahi taco bland and uninteresting. The grilled shrimp taco was very tasty. On the upside, the staff were extremely nice, friendly, and attentive. Probably a fine stop for their Tuesday Taco night.

We visited the Midway and the girl in the information center recommended Las Hadas for Taco Tuesday, and she was on target! We started off with Camacho Fire Grilled Shrimp, and it was excellent! My husband loved his entree ~ chicken enchiladas. I took advantage of Taco Tuesday specials: I had a fish taco $2, chicken taco $2, and a carne asada taco $3, and washed them down with a Tecate draft $2. Everything was delicious! The staff was exceptionally friendly and professional, especially our server, Alex. I highly recommend Las Hadas ~ especially on Taco Tuesday!

Went with family and had great time, with good mexican, including fajitas and enchiladas. They handled the kids well. Great with/out families.

The menu offered good selection of veg options . I was recommended Enchiladas by friendly staff. Enchiladas along with rice and beans were served nicely and tasted great.

Hotel staff recommended and then walked by and host very engaging! Great daily specials. Had fajitas and margaritas and enjoyed both. I’m tough on service and they exceeded the mark. Nice outside tables. We will be back on our trip. Thanks!

We were in town for comic con and ended up eating here 2 nights, first time because were hungry and they had a table when we walked by and second time because we enjoyed the first so much :) Over the 2 nights we had chips and guacamole, and the guacamole was the best. We also had the shrimp burrito, baja fish tacos, carne enchiladas and chicken quesadillas, which were all fab. I’ve eaten a lot of Mexican food and I think this was nicest place I’ve eaten and to top it off the staff were great too.

Loved the food and the staff were very nice. We ate there twice and enjoyed it both times. I would have given it 5 out of 5 except we found it a bit noisy as the clientele seemed to run to the younger side, 20s and 30s, and it's been several decades since we've seen those years.

Some Nice Carnitas Tacos with a little culinary art swagger go very well with a couple Cadillac Margaritas or tres! This place has a cool crowd in a jumping joint. Thinnest Tortillas I have ever seen and I used to live in Mexico. They're almost crepe like. Definitely going to try this place again upon my return to Gaslamp.

Ate here last night with a group of 5, service was great, always there at the right time with drinks and food. All food was cooked just right and lots of it. Would recommend for a good meal and value in the Gaslamp.

Great place for authentic Mexican cuisine.. Stopped in after some sightseeing and nice walk through the Gas Lamp District. Las Hadas is nicely decorated. Great ambiance. Fair amount for the price. We ordered the coconut shrimp, carne asada fajitas, chicken enchiladas and traditional flan for dessert. All the dishes we ordered were absolutely delicious. Highly recommend. Will definitely return to try the other items on the menu.

Per the waitress’ recommendation I tried the enchilada Del Mar. this was really tasty and mostly contained shrimp, although some lobster is mixed in. We also ordered the veggie fajitas and while I didn’t try them they looked great. Service was friendly and prompt. There’s a good drink selection and outdoor seating for people watching. All good!

Nice service and amazing food! We had the enchiladas chicken it was great! Sauce is spiced but not too much! We really enjoyed it.

Went her because there was no wait and what a treat. Probably the top 3 best Mexican restaurants I have ever been too. It happened to be taco tuuuusday and they were on point. Are server was great and my party of 6 were in and out quickly. I can’t wait to go back to Las Hadas Grill

We rolled into San Diego late on a Saturday night, right around 8pm, after our flight had been delayed. All we were craving was some legit Mexican grub to kick off our trip, and man, this place hit the spot. There was plenty of room for us to plop down and the service was on point - quick, friendly, you name it. Our food came out in no time, and everything tasted awesome. We kicked back with a regular margarita and a coconut one, both were killer. Started off with their chips and guac, which could easily feed a small army and tasted fresh as can be. Then we shared a cheese enchilada and some Baja fish tacos - if you're here, you've gotta try 'em. The tacos were stuffed with way more fish than we expected. Honestly, this was one of the best meals we had in San Diego. Totally recommend checking it out!

After a long day in meetings a relaxing seat at the bar with a drink and good football on the tube was what the doctor ordered. Helpful to have friendly football interested bar tender too. Nachos were delicious and a hug serving for an army.

After a long dry spell, without decent Mexican food, we no sooner landed in San Diego than we were walking in the door of this restaurant. This place did not disappoint. The chile relleno was a nice surprise. While the chile itself was a bit mushy, the veggies inside more than made up for it. We had a nice time at this restaurant & will return.

We had spent a late night at Balboa Park and the San Diego Zoo and were staying in the gas-lamp quarter. Surprisingly most restaurants in the gas-lamp quarter stopped serving dinner after 10 pm on a Thursday, but Las Hadas was open for dinner until midnight. This was great and they also had great dinner specials for happy hour from 10 pm-midnight. I got the chicken and beef skewers for 8.99 and they were huge. My husband got a shrimp special which was also good and we slit a ceviche. Great food and reasonably priced.

My friends enjoyed their meals. Food was fresh and plentiful. I chose the pasta dish because I was sick of eating Mexican food for the 3rd day in a row. I was pleasantly surprised - the alfredo sauce was very good and the vegetables, fresh broccoli and fresh mushrooms, really added to the flavor. Vegetarians beware, the rice in the vegetarian dishes is simmered in chicken broth. Great place to go on a busy Friday night if you don't mind a more low-key, quieter experience than what's going on next door. We certainly preferred it!

this restaurant on 4th street was very popular with locals, we hit lucky it was taco Tuesday, Mexican beer for $3 a bottle, tacos for ranging from $ 2 to $5, kids had fajitas that were fantastic, i would highly recommend if you do the Gaslamp area

Tasty food - affordable prices in San Diego. The staff is very kind and they transmit all your requests to the kitchen...if you can,t eat spicy food or whathever you ask for. Amazing food and quality products. We liked Modelo beer served with the lima. I totally recommend this restaurant.

Was in town for business and was recommended this place by our uber driver. We had the nachos for appetizer and they were good. Fajitas with carne was excellent . The marinade was very good. My only downside was they wouldn't split our check up.

We have stopped in for Taco Tuesday a few times, never disappointed. Try the pomegranate margarita top shelf version $7 and it's a not too sweet way to go. Tacos are large - non street size portions. Mahi or grilled shrimp for seafood lovers are a hit. Meat lovers can have $2-4 options with lots of flavor too.

Had a great meal at Las Hadas! The food was great (and large portions) and the staff was stellar; super fast and courteous. This is a family-owned business that really cares about great service. Can't recommend Las Hadas highly enough!!

My mom, sister, and I had dinner here on a Saturday evening around 9. It was loud (music and the talking of nearby tables) but the food was great and inexpensive. Seems like a feat place to get dinner or drinks before a night out on the town. We will be back!

Great food and the service was 5 stars. The team know their food and gave great recommendations for our choices for the night. surf and tuff tacos were tasty and we had a couple of $5 beers happy hour beers with a good selection to choose from

We were sent here by the front desk of our hotel and weren't disappointed! I love a restaurant that has happy hour on the weekends and we took advantage of that menu. The staff is attentive and very friendly, we sat outside to people watch and enjoy the gorgeous weather and watched the hostess interact with everyone who walked by. I had a killer sangria (one for the top shelf version with pomegranate tequila) that I can't recommend highly enough, and our food was very good too. My husband and I shared the guacamole (huge portion and one of the best I've ever had), an order of fish tacos (grilled mahi cooked well, next time I'm going to try the tropical style salsa) and an order of coconut shrimp which were huge and cooked perfectly. While we were waiting, the chef sent out an order of corn fritters (I think that's what they were called?) that were the perfect start to our meal. There was a mixed crowd, families inside, group of guys doing tequila poppers outside, couples, but it all worked really well. We'll be back!

A group of 6 of us stopped by here for drinks late afternoon. Can't comment on the food as we only had beers and drinks but the prices were great and the margaritas were delicious! Food did smell wonderful and we can't wait to go back and try some next time!

Las Hadas is in the Gas Lamp district of San Diego where there are hundreds of bars and restaurants to choose from, but this is a must if you like Mexican food and tequila. The service was awesome, and our server was not only professional but funny. The food was delicious and there was a lot of it. I'll make a return visit on my next trip to San Diego.

The food was excellent. The service was excellent. There is another place a few doors down that looks more popular, I ate there 2 days prior, come here for better food. That’s my review.

We were trying to find a Mexican place for Taco Tuesday. The place next door to Las Hadas had a wait, so we decided to chance this place although it looked less popular, with more open tables. We sat on the patio for people-watching. I ordered a bottle of Dos Equis, which I discovered was a really watered down beer that lacked flavor. That should have been my first clue that this meal was not going to be great. We ordered the Baja Fish tacos. I like savory tacos, not mixed with sweet things like mango or sweet sauces. These tacos were the sweet type. My own fault for not reading the ingredient list I suppose. Anyway, it was a disappointing meal. The only positive was when a group of female septuagenarians in yoga pants walked in and got a table near us. One of them had a T-shirt on that said "Remodeling in Progress". I joked to my wife that sometimes it's better to condemn than remodel!

We were walking from the Train station to the ball park and right at 11:00 am we happened upon Las hadas. There was another Mexican place next door which looked super busy, we were glad we chose Las Hadas! Grabbing an outside table we enjoyed our server Cory and we're happy to see a menu with great prices We ordered some apps had a Maggie and a beer for my honey Chips tasted home made and we were very pleased we stopped!

Great Taco Tuesday spot! Our $10 margaritas and $3-4 tacos (we got some of each on the special) were delicious! A great deal on Tuesdays and great value too. Highly recommend!

Delicious food in the Gaslamp Quarter. The sangria was fabulous. The careful attention to celiac dietary needs was unusually surprising: grilled chips--and a complete menu besides. Worth a visit, but know it may be noisy at peak times--especially during conventions.

So delicious! We ended up there on Taco Tuesday! We are visiting from Florida & thought the experience was fantastic. Great food & service. The interior is very nice. They were lined up next door (mostly Padres fans), but we had a wonderful family experience at Las Hadas. Highly recommend.

While on a business trip to the area, a group of us headed into the Gas Lamp District on a Wednesday evening in search of an interesting place for dinner. We did not have a specific place picked and were just looking for something that looked and sounded interesting. We decided to narrow our search to Mexican or southwest fare and soon stumbled across, Las Hadas. We obviously did not have a reservation but we were seated immediately. The place at sort of a new-age vibe. The service was great and the food was excellent and there was a nice selection of craft beers plus some of our party reported that the margaritas were very good. Very good spicy salsa; always a plus. Everyone enjoyed their meals. I had the fajitas with chicken and shrimp, although there were only five shrimp on the skillet but it was still quite tasty. This is definitely a place that I would visit again.

There is no better place anywhere . for a lobster special on Mondays. Great food, outstanding service and perfect location in the heart of the gas lamp district.

Las Hadas came recommended by several different locals and I now know why. The Guacamole was some of the best guac I've ever had, the grilled fish tacos had fish that was perfectly cooked and seasoned, tasting fresh fresh and flaky. I also tried the lobster which was amazing as well. One of the best Mexican restaurants that I've been to..

This is the real deal. Taco Tuesday is a winner. Great tacos. Super flavor. Great spice. And margaritas at $10 a pop with Patron. Outstanding value.

Excellent choice! Delicious coconut shrimp and quesadillas. The cilantro rice was the best I’ve ever had. Everyone from the host, the waitress and server were very kind and friendly. Definitely will return.

Visited here on the recommendation of a local, a loud and busy place - we had thought it would be a tapas bar, but turned out to be mexican. We ordered a side and a main to share - the agave salad was excellent, and the Mai-mai? (fish) was historic. We might have preferred somewhere a little quieter, but that's just a personal preference. If you like busy and edgy this is a good choice.

Host and waitress were a 5 star. Ambience was good and enjoyed watching football. Ordered enchiladas and Carnitas plate. Received quickly Both were weak. It was ok had much better elsewhere all 3 of us said the same Price was normal

Located on fourth street in the Gaslight District , it is a small Mexican cafe . There is outside and inside seating . The staff were friendly and attentive . Loved the Guacamole . It was chunky and tasty . The chips were homemade !! I loved the carne asada and grilled fish tacos . The Cilantro rice was different and tasty . It was moderately priced . The margaritas were average at best .

Four of us ate here and had great meals, the burgers were huge and delicious, my pulled pork sandwich was spot on, as good s it gets and my wife's fish tacos were great. Good Margarita's and nice guacamole and chips, good atmosphere. Authentic Mexican flavors.

We had a fantastic Mexican dinner here. The place was half packed, service was great and the atmosphere - very lively. As for the food - it was delicious.

Our airbnb host recommended us this place and it was absolutely on point! We shared nachos and each ordered tacos (fish and shrimp). My shrimp tacos were so delicious, incredibly fresh and so generous in portion! The sangria was the perfect accompaniment to the meal too. The service was great too, really friendly, smiley and informative. Would highly, highly recommend coming here if you're looking for authentic, tasty Mexican food for very reasonable prices in the Gaslamp area!

We left most of our food at La Puerta and went next door to this bar. It was not much better. More food directed to bland huge quantities that satisfy drunks. The bartender was friendly and he struggled to make us a decent Marg. But we ended up settling for pizza at Gas Light a couple blocks away.

4 of us enjoyed a very nice dinner. great service. drinks were also very nice especially the cocktails.

They have a huge array of tacos, margaritas, and other Mixi-Cali specialties. It's definitely not a family-oriented place, but rather for adults than children. Overall, I would return!

We were heading for La Puerta (next door) But were told the wait was 45 to 55 minutes. So we called in to Las Hadas. The Cadillac Marguerite was delicious and the guacamole just they way we like it. The grilled fish tacos were awesome. We were so glad to be here. We’ll definitely come back when next in SD. Must try to get back on a Monday for the $10 lobster.
Dinner in Gaslamp district
Stopped here for dinner. I had the marinated steak. My daughter had the chicken enchiladas Food was excellent! Drinks were very good also. Very family friendly.
