Wandered by and stopped in for dinner. Asked bartender if it was eat yourself. Service a little slow but friendly. The steak fajitas were quite good. My husband thought the chicken sandwich was greasy.

The table, chairs and floor sticky from dirt not cleaned long ago. Tablet, chairs and floor were sticky because not they were not cleaned for a long time.

This place looked good from the outside, was busy (which is usually a good sign) and near to where we were staying. We were led to a table by a disinterested man who I didn’t even realise worked there until the last minute! Yes it was busy but a nice greeting take seconds. Or waitress was even worse! Rolled her eyes when I dared ask a question and pretty much threw our drinks down. Food was lovely. I had fajitas and my husband had steak. But the service totally over shadowed it all. Funnily enough the waitress became a smiley, happy waitress when she delivered the bill and announced “the tip is not included”. This is the worse service I have encountered in San Fran and we have tipped everywhere else, but not tonight! There was no way I was tipping. She actually came back to our table and said “you haven’t tipped, is not included in your bill” to which I replied “you have been so rude to us since we got here so no, we are not tipping”. She looked shocked but I am not prepared to tip when the service is shocking. If they could force a smile and a little welcome then this place could improve and then the reviews would actually be about their food, which is good, rather than horrendous service.....they have a lot to learn in San Fran, which has given us great, friendly service until now.

Perfect place to wind down after a day of sightseeing. Great ambience, loved the music. Thanks Last Drop Tavern!

So we've been here a couple of times now for drinks and a meal, the drink specials and food specials are good price. Good vibe , tv's showing sports ( no sound ), so music sets the mood. We ate the steaks, and they were delicious

A great place to have a drink & something to eat. We had the most amazing cocktails in here. It reminded me of "Cheers" as there was lots of people who were watching the game on the TV and a sense of community? The staff are great and the food amazing.

Came here twice on my short, 2-day stay in San Francisco. Happy hour deal was great, good chicken wings and nice variety on the beer list. Servers were friendly and prices reasonable. I'll be back next visit to San Francisco!

Stopped here on my way back from a conference since I heard that have a good Happy Hour. At first it was good, quick service and I ordered the ribs which was one of the Happy Hour choices. The ribs were ok, but way too much sauce for my liking. The larger issue was the service. I’m not blaming the bartender (I sat at the bar so I could watch the World Series), I blame the manager for not having one bartender on for a fairly sizable place. He not only had to handle the patrons seated at the bar, but he also has to service around ten tables. I had planned on staying longer and actually eating dinner, but it was too frustrating to try to get someone to take my order. Dad because this place has a lot of potential.

We were freezing cold and just wanted somewhere to call in for a warm up. We ended staying for 3 hours. Happy hour is between 4-7pm. They had a good choice of cocktails or draft beer/wine/spirits and mixers for $5. A good selection of food on offer at happy hour prices too. I chose from the normal menu, a burger ($12) & I added cheese for an extra $1, my husband had spicy buffalo wings ($8) & fries($4) from the happy hour menu. There was nothing wrong with my burger but it wasn't among the best I've had whilst travelling through USA but it was definitely the cheapest at $12 it was great. My husband said his wings were delicious. The service and atmosphere was great and we ended up staying for several more happy hour drinks. Definitely worth a visit ( not for amazing gourmet food) but for great value and a good atmosphere and excellent service.

Lovely pub in the heart of downtown with Guinness on tap and a traditional pub menu with upscale items as well. Easy, good service and warm atmosphere. If you are staying or working downtown, you can’t beat the location—-just a couple blocks off Union Square. Easy spot to meet up with friends and family.

Returning visit, good food and drinks (not to forget the Smokey Donkey). I'll be back again next year.

Too bad that on the end , we had a surprise on the bill , our son had taken an unlimited soda , except that he chose 3 different kinds (the boss who served did not warn at all that it would be done 3 times) , after claiming nicely to have an explanation , she raised the tone and told us “it’s like this and not otherwise , you had to know” she is NOT KIND nor commercial . To flee!!!

After popping in to this delightfully friendly 'pub' one afternoon for a cocktail and beer, we headed back for the same again (can recommend the Mango Mojito) and this time enjoyed a perfect steak and fries too. The staff are so friendly and obliging as well, making the labour of walking up the hill from Union Square well worth the effort. Very reasonable prices for the centre of the city.

The best American cuisine we tasted in San Francisco: an excellent steak and an equally delicious stew, all natural without sweetish or spicy sauces and creams. The selection of beers is also good. Nice place, pleasant pub atmosphere with background music, professional service. Watch out for the prices! 22% service charge is added to the price of the menu (this hadn't happened to us before) in addition to the usual and disgusting tip request!

Good selection of drinks though we only enjoyed tequila and Corona on this Cinco de Mayo. Service was friendly and seemed to be full of neighborhood locals.

Lovely, lively bar that does very good food. It can get quite noisy so if you're after a quiet meal it's probably not the place for you. However if you can get past the volume of some people it's a great bar. We went in most evenings for a drink (or two) and ate there on our last evening. I have to say the food really was very good and very tasty. Special mention for Ann who works very hard in the bar and is a lovely person and credit to the place.

Come here if you want an understated, cosy pub with a great selection of beers and cocktails, lovely atmosphere and absolutely no pretence. The staff is helpful and friendly without ever getting in your face. The music is just right – old fashioned rock, but not loud enough to ruin a good conversation. The choices on the menu looked great, but we only had a couple of delicious starters. If you’re idea of a great night out is being seen in the scene, walk on by. If you want a great place to hang out with good friends, come on in.

Nice atmosphere, the burgers are good staff were friendly and helpful. They have a lot of TV screens so you can watch your favorite team play.

We ate dinner here as it was really close to our hotel. It was quite dark inside with stuffed animals. The waitress was friendly and the food was OK. We watched baseball while we ate.

I have been in here often over the years and always enjoyed it. However, now it seems like the staff are too pre-occupied talking with friends or between themselves to pay attention to customers. The Sheperds pie was previously great, Sadly now it seems like the shepherds have gone on strike and it's basically a big bowl of mashed potatoes... disappointing.

This is a great place for drinks when it is open. We had a little party here on a very busy Friday and had fun. Good service in spite of the big crowds.

This is a great little spot with a great Happy Hour. The menu offers a great variety and food prices are reasonable. Our party tried the grilled cheese bites with tomato soup, fish tacos, chicken sliders and hand cut fries. All selections were great and did not disappoint! The only disappointment was the service! Our server made us feel rushed, from the time we sat down until we took our last bite. We were in no hurry, there was no wait for tables and we just wanted to relax and enjoy the last night of our vacation. Would recommend based on the food.

Fresh hamburger, really good. Service was attentive and the food came out fresh. Highly recommend and we will be back for sure.

We had been walking around looking at the holiday decorations and needed to take a break. they even let us in the front entrance area with our dog.

Just a block and a half from Union Square, very accessible. Great happy hour turned into happy hours lol

I drank my pint of beer with the server standing over me asking for her tip, being supervised while I drank and asked three times to pay the tip, even though I was still 'enjoying' my pint. We had already paid over $40 for two beers, a green salad and some nachos. Above the odds IMHO. The woman was grumpy when she served us, and slammed the plates down hard onto the table but then started pretending be interested in us once she turned up with the bill. We paid up and stated that we would leave a cash tip. From then on she hovered, kept asking for the tip, and invented reasons to stand over us, telling us she expected 17.5%. In short, we were harassed, and it was a very unpleasant experience. The food was okay but sparse, and the beers were good. However this would have brought the total to almost $50 and was most definitely not even worth the $40 we had paid. My advice - don't go. No one should be treated like this.

There is nothing wrong with this smaller pub. Bar seating, table seating, and a couple of couches for drinks only. Pretty limited menu, but the burger was pretty good. Attentive server and good arrived quickly. No complaints, a simple neighborhood pub.

Happy hour is a great time to try local bars. $5 draft beers and well drinks and discounted Appetizers are a definite incentive. Tried the Crispy deep fried Calamari. Lightly battered, crispy and the dipping sauce was spicy. The bacon deviled eggs were good as well, not as creamy as I like. The filling was more dense but with good bacon flavor and rye sliced green onions helped. The crab cake sliders were flavorful with a crispy crab cake. The aioli was spot on and the mini buns paired well. Tried the Elysian Space draft beer, very hoppy smell, but not the hoppy aftertaste. Service was excellent, our server was very attentive. Would definitely go back again.

W of visited lunch time for a few beers and snacks, the service was so good and friendly we went back again the next day and had more of the same. Many bars we found were average so this was a gem - worth a visit and a Guiness or two

We ate dinner here because it was conveniently located near our hotel and it was open late. The waitstaff was inattentive and just strange. However, the fries and fajitas and salads were really good.

This is a great tavern just a few blocks up from Union Square. Great atmosphere, nice food as well. Worth stopping in for a drink and a meal.

we came here for drinks before dinner and were surprised by the crowd. The Happy Hour prices are extremely low for San Francisco, but the crowd stayed later and many continued to arrive. Friendly service.

It's a little dark and service was slow, but the food was ok and the prices were among the cheapest of the weak. Big portions on the fish & chips. I would come back.

The atmosphere in this pub is great. Feels very warm and welcoming which is a relief after climbing the mountain of a hill to get here. The cold beer made us forget all about the walk. Service was very quick and very friendly. We had calamari, chicken bites with a buffalo sauce and a cheesy sauce and also fries. Whilst the portions were enormous the flavour was just a bit lacking. The chicken bites were also a bit over done whilst the fries were under done.

We were staying at the Donatello so I looked up nearby restaurants on my Trip Advisor app and decided on The Last Drop based on decent reviews. It's a short walk from there but at the top of a steep hill.. good for working off the calories! We arrived during g Happy Hour, so I got a lovely $6 Mojito. I got a burger, added cheddar and sauteed mushrooms and onions. I also ordered it medium rare and it came out beautifully pink, which I love. It was quite delicious! My husband got the Buttermilk Fried chicken sandwich. It was also delicious. The fries were weak, a better fry would have awarded them an extra star. The service was good, our server was friendly. There were locals in while we were there, which tells me it's good, not just a tourist stop.

Stopped for drinks one evening and enjoyed ourselves so much popped back the following afternoon for a couple more. Lighting is not great, but in all honesty that just adds to the atmosphere.

We visited many nights on our trip. Great place for drinks & great bar food. Good service and a good atmosphere.

Enjoyed happy hour so much one day, we went back the next night after theatre. Food was really good. usually my husband will say 'it was a burger' when I ask about his burger. At Last Drop, he said it was really good, high praise. My fish tacos were great, I loved the deviled eggs. And they had interesting drinks.

For San Francisco, this little tavern is reasonably priced and friendly. I stopped by for a late night coctail by myself and felt welcomed and safe. The server staff was accommodating and shared tips of the area. This little place felt like SF history.

Stopped in here as part of a pub crawl and it was probably the best spot of them all. Tried the Street Style Tacos which were good and reasonably priced and had a couple of beers and Mojitos. Don't look for much pristine, fine dining places especially late night. They also have happy hour 4-7pm every day..should be good.

Great burger , superb local beers, friendly speedy service , decent happy hour and very comfy seats . Just a big hill to climb !

Visited here 2-3 times during our stay. Went as a family group. Food and drinks were great. Loved the cocktails. Music playing was good. Definitely will return.

We stopped in a few times while staying at a nearby hotel. They were always super friendly and have a good happy hour with drinks and food. Best prices in the neighborhood. Nice table and menu.

We used to stop here before COVID shut everyone down for a nightcap after a ball game. It was a good stop in the middle of climbing Powell St, but nothing special. We stopped in for the first time after their reopening and had a nice surprise. Same decor by the menu is totally improved. It looks like typical bar food, but much more variety. Appetizers were tasty and hot. We had Calamari with jalapeno and chipotle dipping sauce, Curry Chips, and BBQ ribs. Really good, fast and beautifully presented. The cocktail menu is pretty basic, but that is what we like. Service was fast and friendly. The entre menu had us interested for another time, Burgers and fries, fried chicken, pork ribs as well as beef and and assortment of veggies. We'll be back.

Found this wee place not far from our hotel. The food is great and the happy hour even better . I would recommend the steak sizzle or the chicken burger both great to enjoy. The bar staff Shaun and the other wee lady cant remember her name but she will know to many wines very friendly owner. The place in its self is spotless and the toilets spotless as well. Pity it rained for three days but still a good wee spot job well done guys.

Good little spot to watch sports games, awesome grilled cheese and tomato soup. friendly staff for sure.

Found this place to kill some time and ended up loving it. Great bartender who was friendly and quick. Really good finger foods, and drinks. We went twice during our layover in San Fran.

The Last Drop Tavern is a nice little spot to enjoy some excellent tavern food and a good beer. The service was very good too. I wasn't quite convinced that I would order food when I walked in the door. It's not a hole in the wall, but it is tucked away and the inside is a bit dark. While having a beer I saw a couple receive there order and it looked really good. I decided on the steak fajitas and they were excellent. I paid about $30 for fajitas and two beers. Its not a fancy place, but if you are looking for a laid back night, very good food, and a reasonable price give this place a try.

Nice atmosphere, good quality and prices! Good selection of beers. Quite recommendable even for a late evening drink.

After some sightseeing we fancied a drink. So we thought we would pop in here. Its a decent bar with table service and it does cocktails and food. If I'm near again I would return. Cant say fairer than that.

Very disappointing. Big smiles and courteous when we arrived. Then we didn't see our server until the meal was done. That is once they got the order right, which took about 30 minutes! Can't say we'd ever come back here.

Came here for drinks with friends and for some food. We were not disappointed the food was excellent and the bar staff attentive and friendly would good back.

Sometimes you stumble upon something you need just at that very second you need it the most. For me it was climbing up Powell after missing the trolley and finding a bar before the apex of the hill. The Last Drop Tavern on a visit early this year served me up an ice cold Ballast Point brew just when I needed it. The bartender was friendly and got a chuckle that I walked Powell. One one of the steepest in the city. It's a cool little joint that serves beer, wine and liquor. They also have a food menu that's impressive. I'm in the city again and recalled I never reviewed. Although it's a short but sweet recap it's worthy of a shout out.

Had happy hour drinks here 5 nights in a row as just around the corner from where we stayed. Terrific happy hour prices and bar snacks. Highly recommend the fish tacos and spinach and artichoke dip. The owner Shebli is a delightful gentleman who goes out of his way to ensur everyone is happy. Highly recommended and would definitely go back there if ever in San Fran again

We stopped in for a beverage and felt very welcomed in this quaint tavern with a cozy ambience. Bartender was very friendly and service was good, late evening and the place was quite busy. Nice selection of brews & cocktails and food is also available (didn't order anything other than drinks)

We timed this one just right. Dropped off our cases at the hotel and heading downhill towards Union Square when we passed this local bar that was really busy. Thought we would check it out, and glad we did. Whilst busy we were able to find a table for four and table service was really quick. Beers and cocktails $5 and delicious snacks at very reasonable prices. Quirky bar that’s well worth a visit. Hit happy hour between 4.00 and 7.00 and you won’t be disappointed.

$5 drafts and a happy hour that didn't have huge amounts of food but a decent price for some really good bar bites. I got the fish tacos for $9. It's an expensive area so this is a good deal for the location. Happy hour is from 4 till 7.

We stopped here Christmas Day. The food was decent and better than regular tavern food. The sauce for the French fries was incredible. The atmosphere is rustic and cozy. Loved it. Out of the way of all the hustle. Service was a very laxed so be patient.

Last drinks. They do a mean blood orange margarita sensational! Mac cheese for a last bite not wanting a big dinner so good!! Bit of fun for a drink around the corner from your hotel.

Last Drop Tavern was excellent! Great menu, reasonable prices, great service and EXCELLENT food! Would definitely recommend!

Stopped in for a drink after walking by loud, hipster bars. This was perfect. Sports on the tv, my taste in music playing, and a good Moscow Mule. Didn't have any food but I'm glad we stopped there.

Literally walked past this bar after a stroll from Fisherman’s Wharf back to my hotel. Popped in for a couple of pints and enjoyed it so much that I went back the next evening with a colleague. We again enjoyed some great beer plus we ate there. Calamari and chucked bites bar snacks really but first rate. Do give this establishment a try.

Stopped in on the way back to our Hotel for a refreshing ale was delighted to find a wonderful selection of Red and Amber ales as well as IPA's and APA's on Tap. Nice place for a couple of thirst quenchers .

This little bar is on the Cable Car Powell Street line, and is also on a steep hill. If you dare walk up or down, it is a pleasant place for a drink and you can also get some food.

Dropped in after a very long hot day for a beer. Ended up staying for couple more with my better half and having food. Very friendly staff and atmosphere. We had the ribs and schnitzel which were both fantastic. Just stumbled across it, but very glad we did.

I went on a slower night, towards the end of the night for a few beers after being at another bar in the area, and I enjoyed it. I'm not very demanding at these types of places, bartender was an older gentleman dressed sharp and was quick to help me, looks like he'd been doing it for a long time. As I mentioned I was in later in the night so the Kitchen had closed, however he offered chips and guac to a couple that had asked to get food, I understand that it doesn't require cooking, but still a nice gesture. I thought the "Dark and Steamy" was a great combo, half Anchor, half Guinness, never seen that else where. Overall I'd go back, I'm not entirely sure how it gets on a busier night, but for a low key spot, it can't be missed.

On our first visit for a drink we thought the food looked pretty good so went back another night for eats. Food was really nice - I can recommend the hot wings - and the place was very lively. Good selection of beers and the service was very good.

Great atmosphere, with good friendly service. This is what I expected from a "typical" American bar. It's a good place to watch sports games on the TV's. Reasonable prices and just a short walk from Union Square.

Dropped in for a few drinks mid evening, was fairly busy. Was guided to an empty seat at the bar and quickly served. Good selection of draft beer and cocktails. Bar staff friendly

This is one of those places, where you have to read and consider all of the reviews. Many reviews warned us of the poor service, but the overwhelming visitors said good things. Our experience was definitely the first. We walked in around 8pm to have a late dinner after a busy day and immediately knew we made a mistake. It was a seat yourself place and within 5 minutes we met 3 people - likely the manager (older gent), the bartender, and our waitress. All were very short, rude, and not friendly - almost like they were doing us a favor. We ordered drinks and received menus. We could not get a recommendation out of anyone, so we started with grill cheese dippers for our appetizer - they were good! Then ordered fish and chips and California sliders for our entrees. Both were average at best. Also to tell you the type of place you are dealing with - they charged one of us for a soda refill. Beers were cold and as you know hard to screw up Guinness! The place is dark and if you were trying to dodge the world and have a beer by yourself late at night, this may be a good place. But for dinner, so many great places in San Fran, I would skip this dungeon.

My family came here on our first night, as reviews were pretty good. Husband and I ordered a martini, I had the bluedrop martini and didn't care much for it. My husband said his wasn't great either. We split the fish and chips. The fish was chewy, not good at all. My daughter had the pasta with marinara sauce. I tried one bite of it and thought it tasted terrible - I was surprised she ate so much of it. This place does not have a kids menu, which is disappointing when you have to order a child an adult entree, at the adult price and the child won't even begin to eat half of it. Our son had a hamburger that he enjoyed. It's a small place and felt very crowded.

Visited The Last Drop Tavern twice when in San Francisco for two nights. Very friendly welcoming staff , relaxed atmosphere and fantastic food. Would certainly recommend.

had a burger and 2 beers. For fifty bucks i expect service. i sat at the bar and it took 15 minutes to serve me. After finishing up it took another 20 minutes to get my change. go somewhere else unless your a tourist

Had drinks with some friends and the atmosphere and staff were excellent. Great selection of specialty drinks and Beers. We liked it so much we returned the next night. Unfortunately we did not have food but will have to try it when we go back.

Vegetarian options, portobello mushroom burger, great deviled eggs, ham and brie on foccacia, all great, service cordial and helpful despite a crush of convention attendees who swamped this and every nearby place. Appreciated the service and food. Neat place, will visit again.

We were headed out to dinner on Nob Hill and stopped here for drinks, which were very good. You need to be willing to walk up a steep hill to get here, but this place is worth it. And they have food. Friendly. Pleasant interior.

This bar was right round the corner from our hotel. We called for drinks and food after a long flight from the UK as it was convenient. We went back every day of our three night stay due to the service ambience and beer choice. On our first night we enjoyed our food each choosing the burger which was home made and cooked to perfection, We called for a drink every night on our way out for the evening and we always received a warm welcome and attentive service with a couple of good quality beers.

Loved the service, food and drinks1 Had the mushroom burger with tots and Old Fashions! Great crowd and venue! Great place to meet friends or relax and watch a game!

Stopped for appetizers and was given the cold shoulder. It was up a huge hill from our hotel and at least the food was decent. Would not have made the hike.

Great little place, great drinks, very nice bartender, nice crowd. We didn't get to eat anything as they stop serving food after 10 p.m., so that's something to be aware of. But in terms of the atmosphere and drinks, great little place.

Friendly enough staff but food sub par! Seemed re-heated. Dark brown batter on fish and soggy chips. Too expensive for the standard of the food.

Called in couple of times for happy hour, guy behind bar really friendly. Came for meal on our last night, recommend you call the food is delicious.

We frequented the Last Drop a number of times during our recent visit to SF as we were staying just around the corner. We were glad we did on each occasion. Great atmosphere, equally good service and quality of drinks and food, not forgetting happy hour....try it....

Terrible experience. At first everything seemed fine we ordered our meal and drinks my wifes meal arrived very quickly after about 15 minutes a waiter appeared with the wrong meal no explanation just a grunt. We waited for a further 15 minutes buy this time i was angry and still no meal. i spoke to the waitress and asked for the bill for my wifes meal she then said it would only be a few more minutes!!!! we walked out and the young girl followed us a few minutes later with the meal in a carry out tub. i would like to point out the young girl was not at fault. it was the waiter.

2 of us came here for dinner and right away the waitress seemed to be off with us. Took a long time to take our order, with which we ordered two waters which also took a long time to come out, again with the waitress seeming like she didn't want to be there. My partner has the fish and chips, which the batter was very wet and soggy, and the fish inside quite chewy. I had the burger with bacon and blue cheese which was in fact very nice. My empty plate was taken away quickly but we again had to wait a long time for the other plate to be taken and an opportunity to ask for the check.

Went for a beer twice on our 1 week trip to San Francisco. 1st visit was ok with a nice waitress helping us through the cocktail menu. 2nd visit was dreadful. The waitress asked if we knew what we wanted. We said no and wanted some help. She walked off. She came back a while later and asked again and then her phone rang and she walked off again. We left.

Came across this gem by accident great staff and scratch made food they even bake there own bread a must try off Powell street

After a busy day of walking around downtown Union Square Hubby and I wanted a quick bite to eat and something to drink. The Last Drop Tavern was just up the street from our hotel which made it perfect. We sat down and ordered drinks (beer and a mimosa) hubby ordered sliders beef and I grilled chicken sliders that was just the right portion. The location made it convenient and the prices seemed fair. It is fairly dark closer to the bar however they do have some lighting at the tables. Overall good experience for a quick stop.

I was in town for a conference and came upon the Last Drop the first day walking in the city and glad I did. It is a great little pub with a nice beer selection, great food and the staff and Charles the owner were very friendly. I went back every night during the conference with different friends and all enjoyed the stop. Charles, Nan and the rest of the team always made us feel like we were at home. Thanks!

A friend and I arrived on Super Bowl Sunday after flying from Coast to Coast. There was standing room only, and we were able to get a table in the back for food and a beer. I had the pulled pork sliders and an amber ale, which were both flavorful and filling. We had great service for the tavern being completely packed with football fans.

Nice little bar to drop in for a few beers when in San Francisco. Wide selection of beers and friendly staff

Friendly welcoming staff. Nice place for those not wanting somewhere too loud. Sport shown on TV. Music to fit most tastes. Mixture of young and older people...perfect for us 50 something's who don't want to feel out of place. Drinks ordered and brought to table by bar staff. What more could you want.

Came here as near our hotel, we shared the Fahitas, as we weren't that hungry enough for 2 people, glass of wine and 2 beers $40 not bad the food was nice and plenty for us, will pop in soon.

Around the corner from the orchard hotel. This bar offers good value happy hour drinks and food from 4 till 6

Had a good, reasonably priced dinner here, and it was just what we wanted. Nothing fancy or pretentious. Delicious burgers, pasta dishes, etc.

We called in here this evening for our last. Ignite in the city. We ordered guacamole and chips, and a kale and spinach salad to share. The chips were fine. The guacamole was a v small portion. The kale and spinach salad, which was supposed to have goats cheese and walniuts had 6 walnut halves and about a teaspoon of goats cheese dotted over it. We also had 2 pints of ale. The waitress said she didn’t know the strength of the cask ale, and could not advise on other ales. She was abrupt to the point of rudeness when we said we wanted to share our order. The total bill was §40. A lot for not a lot of food. She brought the credit card bill over to sign and as ever there was a place to add a tip. I always leave a cash tip and told her I would do that. She came back and said we hadn’t left a tip and it was another 17.5%. We were still drinking beers at this point and had. It finished. I said I would leave a tip based on our experience. She then found lots of excuses to come and hover over our table. We felt very uncomfortable as she kept coming over to stare at us. Throughout our stay we have tipped based on service and in almost every place we have eaten the server has accepted our varied percentage tip gratefully. Not a good experience at all. We would not recommend this place,

Great staff and just a fun bar. we have only had drinks but the food looks super also. We have been here two times and both times different bartenders were quite fun.

Great food, reasonable prices, cold beers, friendly service - whats not to like! Went there twice, we enjoyed it do much.

There is an evening Happy Hour with great snacks. However the best was that it was open late and provided a casual venue for the last drink for the evening.

Came injured, walking with a cane, and the matre de took such could care of us, even though it was very busy. Food was good, reasonably priced, for San Francisco. Had a very nice evening.

We just stopped in for a beer .. lovely local hazy pale ale and an ipa. Very welcoming and friendly. We managed to time it right for happy hour. Food looked great .. plan to go back and sample food as well

Great food, service and atmosphere! Nothing was to much trouble even the off the menu cocktails. Thank you all at the Last Drop tavern for your hospitality.

Staff were friendly and helpful, the mocktails were great, food fabulous and the vibe brilliant. So good I forgot to take food pictures !

After a morning and afternoon of sightseeing, we were all starving and ready for a late lunch. On the way to the cable car stop, we saw this great little bar. Terrific atmosphere, lovely atmosphere, and delicious food. The grilled cheese bites and tomato soup are more astounding than they sound. All 4 of us loved it. Wish we had more days in the vacation to revisit.

Dropped in for dinner. Staff were warm, friendly and efficient. Would recommend it for a beer and a bite.

Very busy pub, but service was fast and friendly. It had an English feel to it. I had the fish and chips and my husband had the beef burger. Both nice, typical pub food. Laidback and relax place. Recommend!

The wife and I had a late night bite and drink here. The crab cake sliders and Baja fish tacos were both quite good. The service was decent. I'd probably return.

We had seen the happy hour menu on previous visits to the area and decided we would stop on a late Saturday afternoon. We were lucky and found a table by the window as soon as we arrived. We were greeted promptly and ordered a glass of wine and a mojito from the happy hour menu. Both were excellent choices. The spinach and artichoke dip was some of the best we've had. The guacamole could be a bit spicier but that is just a personal preference. Deeper into the tavern you are actually underground and can't see any of Powell St. (or hear anything from outside except for an occasional cable car bell). Watch your step going in from steep Powell St. to the small step that is needed to enter the tavern. Friendly and fast service, excellent beverages, excellent happy hour prices. We should have had dinner here as our dinner at a different restaurant (separate review) was less than stellar. Will definitely return for other meals and beverages when in the area.

So relieved to find this fantastic little bar not far from union square as we were so sick of being ripped off for drinks in San Francisco! Super little place with lovely staff. Cheaper than most bars for a beer and they also have a happy hour (it’s three hours) where drinks were $5. Also had a good chicken sandwich one day. Great if you can get a window seat and watch the old trams going up and down the steep street. Thanks to the lovely barman for remembering our drinks order on the second visit. Excellent!

we just went onto google maps to find a pub that served food close to our hotel, and found this gem. I can recommend the Sangria which went down nicely! lovely vibe and attentive staff, would recommend.

Lovely bar to have a drink at. Good range of beers, reasonable price, and fantastic friendly staff, in particular the young lady in the photograph who is just so friendly and welcoming, she is a credit

I misplaced my wallet in this establishment. They were very helpful in locating it and cooperative with our rep who went to retrieve it.

Me and my boyfriend came for an afternoon drink and liked it so much we came back for dinner! Really chilled atmosphere and food is amazing. Very reasonably priced for San Francisco! Would highly recommend.

Last Drop Tavern was a frequent last stop during our visit to San Francisco for wine, craft beer and quick food. Very friendly staff.

Great little bar! Cozy, a little divey and pretty perfect. Drinks were great; food was okay. Totally recommend to anyone. Great little place to hideaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. Go grab a drink!

A Caesar Salad and a chicken burger with side salad, water, $51 (including tip and taxes). Good and plentiful

Dinner here after reading TA reviews. Little bar serving food in a cellar atmosphere. Food choice was wide and was excellent quality and big portions. Drink choice was also good. All was a reasonable price for San Francisco.

Lovely and lively atmosphere inside, made to feel welcome straight away. Very busy all the time, big screens at the bar if you want to watch some America sport. Good choice of food and drinks all at reasonable prices to say you are in the right of San Francisco. Bar staff all friendly and didn't wait long to get served. Located on Powell Street not far from the turnaround. They do a happy hour as well

My wife had the fish tacos which tasted great. I had the Carnitas street tacos , which also very good. We traded food and the Fish tacos win. We split the grilled cheese bites with tomato soup dip. Simple and great taste. Top it off with a spicy Bloody Mary then off to the Giants game.

Two old friends met here because it was very convenient to our hotel. Great food and nice staff and very reasonable prices.

We were having fun trying to find a bar for a mid afternoon beer and stumbled upon the Last Drop. Very good appies, decent beer selection. But the real surprise was their take on Old Fashioned and Manhattans (and they are part of the Happy Hour Menu!). Take a break at they funky little place on Powell and enjoy a cocktail or three.

watched the final of the ice hockey 2018 in an American bar, what an experience. Friendly staff and the Crabcake Sliders worth going back for.

A bar close to our hotel with a great offering of craft beers and good food too. The service is very firendly, attentive and efficient. The place has a nice atmosphere.

When I was visiting, we stopped here for dinner. The place was packed for a Monday night but we were seated quickly. I ordered the fried chicken and it came with Brussel sprouts and potatoes. The chicken was tasty and had good flavor and a crunchy crust. The potatoes and Brussels were less seasoned but still good. My fiancé had the fish and chips but we weren't impressed (no seasoning). I also ordered the Paloma which was excellent! I had a good time eating, drinking, and people watching.

Super friendly and genuine staff, we had ribs and chicken bites with fries. Everything tasted like it had been laden with salt twice over, while it was tasty I would recommend asking for no salt if you don’t wanna wake up feeling like the Sahara the next day. Great atmosphere for an evening in the city, only fo if you don’t mind ++ noise/buzz of a bar

Finally, a restaurant open after 9:00 PM! We had been walking around hoping to find a spot still serving food and drinks late in the evening, and this place was a great surprise. The food was delicious, the beer cold, and the service fast and friendly. Exactly what we needed after a long day—definitely worth a visit if you're out late and looking for a relaxed, welcoming place to eat.. Highly recommended

Went here most evenings for drinks and ate here once for dinner. Seemed to be popular as was always busy, sport on the tv screens. We got to know some of the staff who always asked how our day had been and what we had done that day , a good selection of drinks , and the evening meal we had was delicious. Would highly recommend this bar either for drinks or food.

Love this little bar just off Union Square! Excellent service! Greeted.when we walked Iin and Mike our bartender made the perfect Manhattan! Great happy hour menu! Loved the Mac n cheese! We will be back!

Great spot for a cosy drink with friends or watching the game. Food is very good, service was exceptional, and the atmosphere inviting.

First night visiting San Francisco and desperate for a bite after long flights , stumbled upon this lovely spot. The food was delicious , expectations were low so this was a yummy surprise! Staff was friendly and attentive . Only draw back was the high cocktail prices , but after a taste of the Blueberry Lemon Drop martini I had to have just one more!

I noticed this place on the walk up the hill to my hotel and decided to check it out. Happy Hour drinks run from 4-7. The wait staff are very friendly. I ordered the Bolognese and Penne which was delicious. Not too expensive and the food is worth it.

Not much to say. I wanted a burger and beer and the burger was perfectly made - medium rare as requested. Beer happened to come with it and was perfect. Was remarkably less expensive than other establishments and I liked the food

Good food, beers, cocktails especially in happy hour. Serve bar food and main meals, good selection, friendly attentive staff, recommend visiting especially if your in the Union square / Nob hill areas.

We ate here twice. Once we had bar food (quesedias) and the other night we had salads. No complaints, the food was good and the service was friendly. Would go back again.

We stopped by for a drink a small snack in the evening. The ribs were OK, not special and the blue cheese and pear salad was very tasty. Our IPAs were not as good as we would expect.

I ordered wings and a mojito off the happy hour menu. The drink was very small, and the wings were very average. I then ordered a beer and some fries. The fries were absolutely awful. They were hard and tasteless. I spat out the ones I tried and left the rest. I waited another 40 minutes before any of the serving staff asked whether I would like another drink or maybe the check. When I asked to see the manager, he couldn't care less why I wasn't happy with my meal. He said I didn't have to pay for any of it and seemed like he couldn't wait for me to leave. He made no effort to address the poor food or service issues.

Tastes great and the waiters are very nice and enthusiastic I recommend it theres baseball on the tv’s great music. So overall this is a great restaurant that you should definitely visit

Great Cesar Salad and drinks. The bartender was fantastic and the menu was minimal which was great. I would highly recommend this place.

We were looking for a casual place for Sunday night football…..within walking distance of our Union Square hotel. This place was fun, friendly and had decent food.

You can get a meal here, but it functions mostly as a bar. Reasonable prices and adequate service. Not too noisy or crazy.

We went as a couple to see the Euros. It's just what we were looking for. A bar with well located TVs, a friendly atmosphere, DELICIOUS FOOD, and excellent service. I recommend it 💯

Cozy bar that is close to Union Square. We just dropped in for a drink while waiting on reservations. It was convenient and the drinks were good.

In Powell Street, just down the hill from Bush Street. Happy Hour prices for drinks and food was an excellent find!

Went here twice yesterday. First on our way to Fisherman's Warf and then on our way back to hotel. Great selection of drinks. Had a few small bites on the way back. Decent food

The food was OK (had a burger), and the beer was cold. Prices were good for the area, and it was a nice place to get away from the craziness at other places around Union Square.

Arrived in San Francisco late afternoon and this bar opposite our hotel so went in for drinks and snacks. What lovely people very helpful. Did go back a couple of times. Would recommend

We have visited this bar twice during our stay, mainly because of the proximity to our hotel, but also recommendation of our concierge. No regrets whatsoever! My wife loves martinis, and all three on the menu met her acceptance and beyond. The margarita and mojito that I enjoyed were very good as well. That, together with a very nice service gives a definite 4.5 from me. The only downside is lack of small nibbles such as peanuts or mix, rather than the need to order appetizer. It's a not major issue as we enjoyed guac and other dips served in the bar, yet sometimes one doesn't need a meal ;). Overall a very strong 4.5 from me.

Stopped in for a cocktail enroute back to hotel. Nicely decorated and well air conditioned, we were warmly greeted by the bar staff. Good cocktail menu and when they arrived the came in tankards in keeping with the medieval gothic theme here. Prices in keeping with other bars around, good atmosphere and well worth a visit

Small little bar heading up Nob Hill. Popped in with a co-worker on the way to dinner. Owner was very nice and hooked up with a window table. Service was spot on. Like most places in SF this was pricey but average for the city. If you are thirsty walking up the hill stop in for a cocktail.

Believe it or not, it was relatively hard to find a good bar to eat lunch near Union Square. This place was perfect! The food was really good. Great drink selection. Nice ambiance. I would go back!

We tend to come here at happy hour for the cheap beers and cheap bar snacks. They have about a dozen taps and a selection of american-style bar snacks. The decor is out there - think medieval european/american sports bar... But the staff are nice and well, that's about it.

A very relaxed atmosphere, good food and a good selection of beers well served. The steaks or steak fajitas are excellent

We spotted this tavern on our bus trip and the name drew us in! Greeted at the door we were quickly seated and the atmosphere was great … just like sitting at a local pub with sport on screens but not so big that it turned into a sport bar. Guinness and beers on tap ordered we settled down with our menus glancing around to get ideas of what everyone was ordering. I went with the New York stead perfectly medium rare and it was tender and full of flavour. The other two orders were crispy light salt and pepper calamari and the Tavern Burger …just perfect… Sitting here was a great experience and the atmosphere was warm and friendly. We awarded our waiter the Koala award

Found this little beaut of a place having missed the trolley car and whilst attempting to climb the hill back to our hotel. Happy hour (4-7 pm) tempted us in and the drinks, food and staff enticed us back - several times I have to admit during our stay in San Francisco. Thai looked after us tremendously well and poured a mean black and blue (part Guinness part blue moon) for the hubster! Would recommend anyone checking this place out - you won’t be disappointed.

Neighbourhood sports bar with a good selection of beers and a decent menu of traditional American favourites. Those of a less athletic disposition will find the steepness of the short climb up Powell Street from Sutter puts a distinct edge on their thirst. Happily accommodated - at no notice - twelve people for dinner on a busy Tuesday evening.

A great neighborhood place! The happy hour drinks, food and prices are great. Selections of draft beers, local wines and specialty cocktails. Something for everyone. All at $5 from 5-7. Can get packed quickly!

Nice place for happy hour. Drinks and food really good. Bar is around the corner from the Union Square Marriott and is a great option if you are looking to get out of the hotel and want a spot to start your evening or if you don’t want to fuss for dinner.

Great bar near Bush and Powell. Loved our bartender Thai! She was a delight! Will definitely stop in every time we come to visit.

Kris and team passionate and attentive to make a fantastic experience. Kitchen open to 1am with tasty snacks ready just when needed. Highly recommended (James)

We were staying at the Marriott Union Square. We wanted to get warm after a Giants game and found this location. We were taken back to Europe visits with the decor. The bar was not busy. Even though it was late on a weeknight, the staff was attentive. We enjoyed the calamari and a beer. Would recommend it.

Remember that 'tavern' is in this establishment's name... why? Because it's a purveyor of alcohol. Food is a sideline here. Some is really good! Some, not so much. Don't come here and order a steak dinner or expect great seafood... be real! Street tacos are killer! BTW add hot sauce. Mixed green salad was a total risk but it came out a super fresh and quality choice! Most everything here is cooked in a fried method so don't act surprised when you get served. If you want healthy food either go elsewhere or just have cocktails. GREAT STAFF!!! Super friendly and swift!

Cocktails, beer, small bites, and sports tv.....great atmosphere. Even better from 4 - 7 .....Happy Hour....hooray!

The quesadilla was excellent and they had a fully stocked bar. Not too expensive and the environment was like a neighborhood bar.

I popped in to this bar/ restaurant on my first night in SF. Wow, the staff are so friendly and helpful, even for me as a single diner! It was very busy, which I think is a good sign, but they managed to find a seat for me and the food, beer and wine were all excellent. I will definitely be back.
Last drop and last stop?
A great place around my hotel. It was recommended by a staff at University Club hotel because I was looking for a few drinks before bed time. The place is two blocks down toward Union Square and at the lower level of the building. The place has a very good late night atmoshere, good bar tender and floor staff. I enjoy my drinks and simple finger food before going to bed. For me, what a great find for late night since I am a late night person.
