Simply the Best 7 Day Happy Hour Menu's in the Pacific Northwest + Great Beer & Service Also !

By hipcatiii |

The regular menu is outstanding but considering how filling some of our beer is look on the back of the menu for the seven day a week happy hour menu and get ready for the same great food just in smaller portions. The quality of the food even on the Happy Hour menu rivals some very expensive restaurants nearby. The Happy Hour Menu includes some of their most popular menu items. Their beer is some of the best and some of the most consistent flavor in the N.W. Their Tree Hugger Porter is my favorite but its so thick and flavorful its like a meal itself. We sat on the upstairs patio this time and it was very nice. They have shade cloth and misters for when it gets hot. This is for the Sandy Blvd Location. Cheap Growler Refills ! Parking in the back.

Good grub at the Wood (Laurel) in Portland OR

By Silverwoods |

I ate at the PDX Laurelwood Public House. The veggie black bean chili and spinach salad was really tasty. I tried their European Dark Lager and it was quite tasty. Overall, I definitely would go back to the Laurelwood, if for no other reason than to sample many of their fine ales and lagers.

Eat in Style

By rbymail |

After a long day of business travel in Portland we had a delay in our flight time at the airport, we were starving. In front of us was an oasis, The Laurelwood restaurant. Such a pleasant surprise for an airport restaurant. Fair prices, The service was great, super pleasant wait person and the food was awesome. We really recommend this place if you are at PDX

Great Beer

By Kellie L |

Great atmosphere, great beer. This place had a bunch of people (a lot seemed like locals) and it was a very friendly, relaxed time here. Food was good, but the Laurelweizen was great! I was sad there were not individual bottles to take home with me.

Good Service, Interesting Food

By KMKD00 |

Had dinner here on Friday and it was good. Landon was our server and did an excellent job with our group. I had soup and a caesar salad, which was good. Nothing spectacular, but good. I found it odd they put apples and blue cheese crumbles on a caesar, but it was fine. The onion rings were really good and they had some really good beers.

Good Stop

By TheBigMuffin |

We liked this neighborhood a lot, and stopped here because the atmosphere looked good from the street. The food was good, nothing bad but nothing special. We had good experiences with the pizza, and the service was quick.

Bad fish tacos, disappointing beer

By AmberJRDH |

Rubbery fish in the tacos, beer not great... Free range red is good but, not IPA's. Many were out that we wanted to try. Not worth the stop. Spendy tourist trap in our opinion.

Good Burgers and Beer

By Tek |

Today was our third visit to Laurelwood. The bbq chicken salad was good; but the bbq sauce and salad dressing were missing and had to be requested. On the first two visits, the service was great-friendly servers who kept track of needs. Today the restaurant was busier and there were no refills on beverages. We had to ask for silverware and napkins, too.

Good food and a good place to take kids

By Levon M |

We eat here with family every time we visit Portland - sometimes more then once. Partly because it is close to where they live and it is very kid friendly. more then 1 play area for kids plus stacks of coloring books for them at the counter. The kids love their Mac & Cheese while the rest of us get a variety of sandwiches and beers. Everything there is very good. The prices are not out of line with other similiar Portland restaurants and are even a little lower then many. The entire staff is very friendly and helpful. I'm not sure where the negative reviews have come from. we have eaten there for 5 or 6 years and never experienced the issues they raised. But we only eat at the one on Sandy Blvd. I would recommend that one to anyone.

Great food, beer and very family friendly

By Levon M |

4 adults & 3 children for supper. Adults had Taco Salad, Halibut Fish & Chips, Reuben & a Bleu & Bacon burger. All quite good. For beer we had a Vinter Varmer & a Mother Lode. Both Laurelwood beers and very tasty. The kids had Mac & Cheese and corn dogs. In addition to the good food & beer there are all kinds of toys etc for the kids to play with in an area of their own. Service is quick & friendly. prices are not bad at all.

Average Casual Dining

By bsimosd |

Our extended family met for a casual dinner at this bar and grill. The waiter was very knowledgeable, and there were lots of menu choices and variations. Not surprisingly, the beer selection was extensive and very good. My Chardonnay was good, but a miniscule amount for the money. My wife’s avocado tacos were extremely hot (as in hot sauce), and my Caesar salad was more of a wilted salad. The food all arrived at one time (pretty good for 11 people), and the staff was very friendly. Our waiter was a little overwhelmed by our number as far as follow-up service.

Great choice for families

By DP_42_Towel |

Great play area for kids! Love the food, good service, and decent beer. Really refreshing to see a place that has an honest-to-goodness parking lot instead of having to fight for street parking. Very good happy hour menu. Great for families.

Beer First, then the Great Food!

By RushCubFan |

Laurelwood's Workhorse IPA is one of the best anywhere. We can find it in bottles in a couple places in Spokane so to get it on draft is a real treat - and it was delicious! Great way to start our dinnner. Then the food - the prices are excellent and the portions are huge! How can you go wrong? My SO's pig dip was amazing - tender and loaded with pork, with a great au just for dipping. My Cubano was second only to the ones I make! So very good. We also had garlic fries and got a ton of them for only $2. All in all a wonderful meal.

Good for families & kids

By Levon M |

We always make a point of eating at Laurelwood on our trips to Portland to visit family. As usual the food is good and the service is quick & friendly. This time I had the Brewer's Burger for the first time and it was very good. Others had the burger of the Month, SW Chicken enchiladas, and of course the 8 yr old grandson had to have the homemade Mac & Cheese. Plus we always try the beer of the month. Good as always

Way underated brews, a better than average pub menu

By Aaron M |

Hearty sandwiches and salads. Delicious fish and chips! And the beers, try everyone. I just got my growler filled with Piston Pale Ale. Best deal in town. Nice happy hours menu too. Great job. Also, Micah the bar tender...what a nice guy!

Kids underfoot? No problem!

By elswells |

We visit Laurelwood three times a year when we go to Portland to see the grandchildren. We enjoy the excellent selection of their beers, while the kids play in the play areas or color in the coloring books. The young servers are amazing, always cheerful and accommodating as they work their ways past wandering munchkins to deliver food and drink. The menu is a step up from classic pub food, and the food is a giant jump ahead. So good to see some healthy choices on the menu. Last night I had the steak salad, which was wonderful: medium rare steak pieces with spinach, roasted red peppers, mushrooms, crispy onions, and blue cheese, tossed with just the right amount of balsamic dressing. My husband raved about his spinach salad with chicken. Unlike many restaurants, there were several choices for our vegetarian son. The servers were quick to start the evening by bringing the adults beer, and putting the children's orders in right away. Laurelwood is noisy and crowded, as it clearly meets the needs of many.

Tavern feel, family friendly, excellent food

By MarkV709 |

Passed by looking for a place for a weekday lunch. Very glad we found it. Excellent food. Enjoyed a real deal stacked Reuben sandwich and tasty, filling house salad with chicken. Everything was fresh, healthy portions and reasonably priced. A couple of local beers on tap completed the meal. Exceptionally good service. Well worth going off the beaten path if you had to or any wait you may encounter. We'll be back!

a relaxing place to hang...

By Peggy C |

a relaxing place to hang out, like the house beer.

Consistently Great Food!

By DaMacAttack |

Their food is great! We have gone twice, and we had the same dish, it was so good. My hubby had the pulled pork sammie, he really loves it. I had a ABLT, which is thinnly sliced apples, candied bacon on a ciabatta roll. The best I've ever had!! Their fries are really good and so was the iced tea. I'm not a beer drinker but the hubs enjoyed his red beer. The service was attentive & very friendly, too.

Busy, but...........

By Paul L |

The staff is on top of it, good menu, great award winning beer, go with the Workhorse, if your a IPA person! There are a lot of families with children, so be ready for all that it brings to the experience.

Pulled Pork Chimichanga... Need I say more?

By rhinosgirl |

We wanted some good food and good drinks and we found it! My husband had the pulled pork chimichanga and was very happy with his choice. He said the beer choices would satisfy anyone's taste. I had the Mac and Cheese w spinach, prosciutto and goat cheese, it was very good. The portions were pretty big too. The parking is limited right by the restaurant but there is additional parking across the street. Our waiter, Thomas was very friendly and very cute ;-)

Better than expected!

By 503Jetsetter |

Some of the food at Portland's breweries are hit and miss, so I was pleasantly surprised when I dined with Laurelwood for the first time this evening! I didn't get too adventurous - had the chicken strips and fries. The chicken was breaded in house, and the fries were delicious. They have an extensive menu with several different types of food (although not as "all over the map" as the Cheesecake Factory". I'm a non-drinker, so it was nice to find a brewery with good food that I can enjoy with my beer-loving friends! Will definitely return for another visit.

When Hair of the Dog is closed

By Terry G |

...which is apparently most of the time. After a circuitous route from a grumpy "cab" driver, we arrived at Hair of the Dog at 9PM, to find it had been closed for an hour. An HOUR! On a Thursday night!! Who does that? After decisively (and derisively) rejecting Rock Bottom Brewery (please...), we headed for Laurelwood, which has been my go-to in Portland for several years. IT was open, and being hop harvest time of year, most of went with the Fresh Hop Pale Ale, with a few deviations into Imperial IPA and Fresh Hop Workhorse IPA. All made us very happy, and we had just come from an abbreviated session at the Calpooia Brewing LLC in Albany, so our standards were pretty high. I has a Gyro (my second of the week, because I love Gyros) and got the Onion Rings as an upgrade. They were second tier, but in my world, Harraseeket Onion Rings are the sole Tier 1 occupant, and there are 5 or 6 tiers below second, so rock on Laurelwood. The lamb was TASTY, the pita nice and fresh, and the tazaki really good. Two of my cohorts had burgers; one had a fish taco that he thought would not do the trick, but nailed it. I'm beginning to think Laurelwood should get an Excellent. I'll decide when i am finished, Service was good and attentive and knowledgeable and polite. There were families and young people and old people and us, a good sign when many demographics mingle. Three of us had early flights, but somehow we closed Laurelwood down, too. It was not terribly late, but at least it was dark out, Hair of the Dog...

Delicious, Smaller Portions

By spryry2020 |

What I actually found enticing was their moderately-sized servings. We got a chipless taco bowl-esque plate, as well as their beer-battered fish ‘n chips. When our plates arrived, we were a bit taken aback by the relatively small portions, despite spending over $15 per person. Of course, this isn’t a Chinese restaurant or some hill-billy country house in the woods. Upon first bite, we could sense the quality of ingredients (even though this is only a brew house!) We weren’t so preoccupied with whether or not we’d finish our entire plate (as is the case with larger portions!), so we ate slower & talked more. Lovely ambiance, too! And the smell of the cider is good :)

A great place, now dying.

By BarefootBuddies |

We were so disappointed at the new ‘system’ at Laurelwood. New menu - about 8 items instead of over 20! They let all the servers go and now only offer counter service (shame on you!). Talked to employees and they are clearly happy s as bd don’t know what’s going on. Place is going to shut down soon I’m sure. We will not go back.

First Impressions

By wolfzero2 |

Saw the Portland location while driving around so wanted to head back to try it. My first experience was just ok. The beer is good and really enjoyed that. I sat at a table in the bar area and got to enjoy small children running through and feel the cold blast of air as people came in and out from the back entrance. If you enter from the back you essentially walk through the bar area so there's a lot of traffic. It was a very cold evening and if large groups were entering/leaving you got to enjoy the cold for a time. Guess that helps keep your beer cold! I tend to enjoy a bar area void of small children and you can't do that here. Families are great but I like a bar area reserved for adults. I just tried a burger and it was ok. Just average. Nothing I would return for. That was the general prognosis at the table. Food was reasonably priced and average. Service was fine, beer very good, atmosphere is rustic and basic. It's a fine place and may try again sometime but other places to explore first

Nice hangout for a traveller

By Basiluzzo |

I find myself in Portland visiting family several times a year. I need a place to go have some time to myself, and Laurelwood fits the bill. The house brews are excellent, the food is decent, and it is a good casual atmosphere. No problems if I sit and mooch the free wifi for a couple of hours. Plenty of sports on big screen tvs, but not that noisy. My bowl of chili today was just okay, but the portion was big and reasonably priced and tasted damn good with an excellent IPA. What can I say, I keep coming back.

Typical Portland brew pub fare

By 338jacquelynk |

Visited on a Saturday about 6:30 pm-surprised it was not overly busy-which made for a short wait to be served. Prices a little high and service a little slow. Food was tasty-large burgers and my tempeh sandwich was tasty.

Busy, but very good airport food, beer and wine

By KWAJT |

we split an excellent Halibut fish and chips. The fries were crisp and tasty. I enjoyed the red and ale and we both enjoyed there wines. This is a gem like Anthony's when you need airport food. Grab a seat quickly or go Mc D's or subway?

Our Favorite Stop

By Travelbellca |

While on vacation in Oregon we visited many Breweries. We just happened to stop in here since it was close by. It was by far the best one. The food was great. My kids were happy with the choices they had. The atmosphere was very relaxed and the service was excellent. To top it off, they had the best beer!

Great find

By TERRY B |

Fun and friendly atmosphere. The staff and service was excellent. Pulled pork and the pig and dip were outstanding. Wished we lived closer to Oregon.

Busy place, expect airport food

By shanac2008 |

We ate at the Laurelwood before our plane departed in Portland. This 'restaurant' is a very busy place and it is hard to get attention/service. Expect poor service, as there are not enough waitresses to serve everyone who stops there. Expect airport quality food when visiting!

Good airport breakfast

By TravellingTrio720 |

Waiting for our flight early morning. Hungry and needed some java. Based on a recomendation decided to give this place a try. Thought the breakfast was very good for airport food and relatively reasonable price wise. The biscuit gravy was the best i had on this trip and the farmer scramble was very good. Very strong coffee.

Could be better...

By Melody |

I was a bit disappointed by this place. The service was not great and the beer options were extremely limited. It has potential but in need of some TLC.

Burgers Delish, close to PDX

By Cindy L |

Good brew pub with great food and service. Plenty of parking and space for large parties. We enjoyed their specialty burgers, but they had several other options on the menu.

Good

By J H |

Was visiting family and it was close. So we stopped in for a brew and burger. Friendly wait staff, good service, beer was good and the burger well prepared. Would definitely go back. It was a little herbal, but not overboard

Great beer, excellent pub food

By Hayduke |

Late on a Sunday night this place was very quiet. Service was good, the burger was huge, and the garlic fries were excellent. There were lots of beers on tap, and all were good, and one, the Workhorse IPA was outstanding. You go to a brewpub first for the beer and on that account this was a five star place, and service and atmosphere get four stars as well. For value, well for quality of the beer and food this was outstanding. Would gladly return again.

Terrible experience for...

By KyleDPDX |

Terrible experience for too many reasons to list.

Great find

By MPtripletta |

I was staying night near airport and was looking for a close brewery. Found this gem. Great beer selection, two flight options and both reasonably priced. I only had a salad for dinner, bbq chicken cobb, was a good large portion. All food around me looked very good. It's in the Hollywood district. Parking outback is easy. Great service at the bar.

Good food

By CLPope |

We enjoyed a good lunch. There is a nice, kids' corner with toys and an upstairs, outdoor dining area.

A great closure to our trip at PDX!

By orange-u-tall |

My thoughts of airports are usually limited to finding the least mediocre food to eat that I can while I wait for my flight. The Portland airport changed that line of thinking for me. First of all, they have brewpubs in the airport. Secondly, the airport has a slogan that you will pay the same price for things as you do outside of the airport. So there is no price gouging! That was a new and foreign concept to me. Laurelwood was near our gate, so I had another good fish & chips platter (might as well while in the Pacific Northwest), and a great beer sampler. To top it off, I boarded the plane with a 64 oz. growler purchased from Laurelwood for a paltry $14. Laurelwood and the PDX collaborated to conclude my trip on a high note.

The beer's OK.

By jrbarrows B |

Met a friend there at the bar last week. First time for me. It's a huge, old wooden building on a main drag with plenty of parking. The interior is dreary and darkish. I asked what IPA's they had on tap and what they were like. "We have two award-winning IPA's on tap (looking at the blackboard)". Hmmm .. I'm left wondering what they're like. Anyway, "I'll try that one (pointing to my choice on the board)". My friend arrives. He orders the same one. We are both hockey fans, and there is a large TV right over the bar in front of us with a girls' softball game on. The two us know that there is a Stanley Cup hockey game on at the moment, and ask the person who sold us the award-winning IPA's if he could put the hockey game on, since no one seemed to be interested in the softball game. He assented, though he wasn't sure how to work the remote control or know what channel the game was on. He found it with our help. We watched the game for a while, finished our award-winning IPA's and left. Not my choice of place to hang out. Went home and watched the rest of the game and opened my favorite IPA.

Have to be a regular to get good service

By Laura C |

was celebrating my brother-in-law's birthday this past saturday and decided to meet at Laurelwood to watch the Ducks game before our dinner reservations. We go into the upstairs room where two guys are sitting alone on the couch. They mentioned we could stay but that no one was working the bar up there so we would have to go downstairs to get our food and drinks. This was no problem at all for us and as we continued to do. When my sister and I went downstairs to order food the bartender first told us to hang on for just a minute because the fries would be up soon, but after a few minutes of waiting he said "oh looks like I put the order in together so check back down in 10minutes" not a huge deal but just frustrating since we were trying to be upstairs with our friends and family. As more people started to show up a hostess came upstairs to tell us that no one should be up there besides the two regulars because technically that room wasnt suppose to be open, but for them it was. We said we didnt mind getting our own food and drinks from downstairs but they still felt that no one else should be up there and we still were expecting 3 more people so we had to change places during half-time. I just thought this was stupid because they were turning down our business when we were probably the easiest people considering we were serving and cleaning up after ourselves.

Lunch

By quikflik |

Stopped here for lunch with my son. We shared the loaded tots and the macho nachos to start. The portions were extremely generous so we didn't manage to finish it all as we had to leave room for our mains which we had the pulled pork chimichanga and the pulled pork sandwich. Both very nice and again the portions were generous so we weren't able to finish it all. I thought there was a good selection of foods on the menu and the service was swift, friendly and attentive. I would recommend a visit here.

Good value, excellant selection of draft beer

By John M |

The IPA, Red Elephant draft, & Free Range Red were good draft beer selections. The Salmon Blast, huus plate and The Rachel sandwich were all well prepared. The pretzels, tater tots and fries were also pretty good. Better than average pub food.

Food excellent; service iffy; kid friendly

By JennieJennie17 |

My cousin, his wife, their child, & I went to dinner here. We were seated by the child's play area. Our little guy wasn't interested in playing until after we ate. Our waiter was new. Nice enough, but if he hadn't have mentioned that it was only his 3rd day on the job I would have said service was horrible. After we ordered, he brought our drinks (which he got backwards). After that, we never saw him again until the end. Someone else brought our food. However, I had ordered coffee but never got it. And my cousin ordered a side salad, but never got it. When the waiter took our order, he entered it on a handheld computer (maybe a tablet or IPad). I thought that was pretty cool. I tried a sip of my cousin's beer. It was actually pretty good! For appetizers, we ordered the hummus plate & the garlic fries. They actually tasted good together. Even our little guy liked both of them. I ordered the Blackened Chicken Mac. Excellent! I'd definitely order that again! When finally we saw our waiter again, we had him remove the coffee & salad from the bill. As an apology, he brought a cookie for us to take with us; it was a fairly large cookie. The adults had a tiny piece while our little guy ate the rest. Consensus was that it tasted like a molasses cookie. Whatever it was, it was delicious! When we paid, the waiter ran the card through the card reader in his computer. I like that. The credit card didn't have to leave our sight & neither did our waiter. That's something that should become standard at all sit down restaurants.

Good food, good beer, good atmosphere

By ScottandJanelle |

We enjoyed a simple and tasty meal at the Sandy location. The restaurant was recommended by the front desk clerk at my hotel and it was a great suggestion. The room is a bit noisy because of the pub atmosphere and crowd of locals, but we were able to enjoy our meal and conversation. The fish and chips are very good and the beer options are great. Our friendly server offered a taste of a few beers when we weren't sure which to choose. Surprisingly, things died down pretty quickly once the dinner rush subsided; we finished our leisure dining and were among the very last to leave. We didn't recognize that they were beginning to close and clean up as it approached 10pm. Our daughter is a new Portland resident and this is a restaurant we'll return to again when we visit.

Fun Pub

By Vegas Trippers |

We flew up to Portland to visit family. No one was in the mood to cook the night before Thanksgiving, so we went to this little pub. This place is the best, full of local color, great food and amazing beer. There were 5 of us, ages ranging from 50 to 25. We all ordered different beers and foods. All of us loved what we had. Oh, and the service was the best.

Best mac n cheese ever! Great burgers and beer too!

By Adventuredawgs |

I used my TripAdvisor app and thankfully this place popped up not far from our hotel. It's in an unassuming little neighborhood but even the outside of the building is neat and cozy. That continues through to the inside, where it is full of warm woods and cozy booths. The staff were super friendly, even though it was close to closing when we arrived. They have a good selection of beer, my husband got a pint of Gose and I got a sampler, the Free Range Red is awesome. We got the Bacon French Onion dip as an appetizer and it was delicious! My husband and daughter got burgers which were really good, thick and juicy. I got a kale salad and the best mac n cheese I've ever had. It was Beer and Bacon, loaded with bacon, caramelized onions, and roasted red peppers in a beer cheese sauce. The pasta was perfectly al dente and the it was so creamy and cheesy! The kale salad was pretty good too with almonds, blue cheese crumbles and dried cranberries. I'm still dreaming about that mac and cheese! I also love that this place is family friendly. Bring the whole family, you won't be disappointed.

Warm and inviting, Bright and Open

By Michael C |

I like this place. The beer is cold and delicious and the service staff is experienced and friendly. I was pleasantly surprised at how good the food was. I tasted my wife’s sandwich and fries and my burger and salad and all were very, very good - excellent in fact. Parking is readily available too and prices are so reasonable.

Awesome place

By E T |

I had the tree hugger porter that was excellent. The Jalapeno popper burger was even better! I truly recommend this burger! Great atmosphere and I will be back!

Great Beers, decent food

By elcrawl |

First off, let me say that if you're a beer fan, you need to check this place out. Their year-round lineup is great (IPA is one of the better ones in Portland) but they also have many different seasonal offerings. Food-wise, this place is okay. I've never been wowed with the food, but never been put-off either. Atmosphere-wise, it can get pretty crowded at peak times, but the service is always good and if you come in when it's not busy you can sit out back on the patio or head to the roof patio. Not too shabby. Also family-friendly and lots of seating helps out too. Like I said, worth a stop if you like good beer.

Excellent food & Beer

By Levon M |

3 of us on our last night in Portland. We usually eat here on our trips to Portland because the food & beer are excellent and it has a very family friendly atmosphere. Kids are always welcome. This time we had a couple of pints of Hooligan to drink. Started with lettuse wraps then a Reuben, a Cubano and a Vegitarian Special. As usual everything was excellent. I'll miss coming here since my son & his family are in the process of moving to Montana.

Pub Food Friendly Staff

By Joseph S |

I don't drink so no review for brews. Having driven by here dozens of times en route to airport from downtown I decided to stop. The atmosphere is typical pub, obviously very popular as difficult to get a seat on a Wednesday evening. Many pubs have a limited menu, but here is a pretty complete menu with sandwiches, burgers, salads, and entrees with a local flavor. I enjoyed hazelnut crusted halibut with mashed potatoes and cooked veggies. Committed to local vendors the food was fresh and tasty. This would be a great place for a carload of friends to enjoy a meal. It is family friendly with seating for parents with children, including high chairs.

Come for the Beer, Stay for the Food

By Michael C |

Great beer for sure and a huge selection. The food also turned out to be exceptional. The service is great and attentive and the atmosphere is warm, comfortable and accepting.

Great NW brew house

By R H |

Probably what a visitor expects when looking to visit the kind of brew house that Portland is famous for. A great selection of local brew served with honest hearty fare at decent prices. A local hang out for reasons that become obvious. No complaints here.

keep away from their Portland Airport Location

By canadian175 |

I just tried their chilli bowl - more like a weak watered down chilli gravy or soup - probably the worst chilli I have ever experienced. The food here is served absolutely devoid of any spirit or flavour. Seriously disappointing and what a lost opportunity to wow guests. The one redeeming factor was an overly busy waiter doing their best to keep up that necessitated a longer than expected wait and rushed service experience - forget about table cleaning at this joint - I never saw that happen once - everything is slapped down prison cafeteria style. I hope the executives at this company take note and realize this this experience has been written for them to learn from - if there is a client response then awesome you know that they are on the ball . . . if no client rebuttle response below then we will all know that this company does not care about even prividing a modicom of service. I truly hope they respond. . . but have my doubts. Happy travels to all and if you choose to eat here keep away from the chlli unless you like it runny and nasty

Great IPA, reasonable food

By RIDPDX |

I met up here with an old colleague for lunch. This was the Sandy location (several reviews here are specific to the Airport). There is parking out back but the world cup was on, but I was still able to find street parking (technically one hour only). IPAs on tap were excellent and very reasonably priced. Tried both their Workhorse and the Green Elephant (seasonal). Their tree hugger porter is also good. The menu is quite large and varied and the food quality was good. Service was a tad slow but the world cup crowd had them running. I'll definitely check out some of their other locations.

Great place, Great Beer, Great Atmosphere, Dog Friendly

By Trenton S |

Went here nor only for beer but do to it being Dog friendly. We were able to sit upstairs on their rooftop deck. Food was great and so was the beer. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Great Job

Overpriced

By Paule E |

Nice large place, with lots of parking. Food was ok, but over $10 for a sandwich, seems a bit much. Server was in such a rush to take our order, like they needed to move us out of our table for others. Server never asked us for refills of our drinks. Would look for another place before going back here. Maybe the people in Portland do not tip very well and the servers do not care about the customers.

Love kid friendly places

By Teresa S |

My extended family and I went for dinner here while staying in Portland. The best part as a mom was the little kids play areas set up. Talk about taking the pressure off of a potentially stressful night. We could watch them from our table and still have a nice night out. The food was good with options for all and great beer! Really enjoyed it!

Overall good experience

By steveD4192JX |

Stopped for lunch on a Tuesday. The staff was friendly and talkative. The beer was pretty decent as was the food. We had a salad, pulled pork sandwich, and a Nashville hot chicken sandwich at our table. Everyone was satisfied with no complaints.

Classic Pub food and very loud atmosphere

By loonalaska |

A lot of greasy classic pub food on the menu with a few overpriced salads. Nothing to choose from simple and small if you aren't that hungry. The noise is overwhelming. They should put some noise platforms on the ceiling. The booths are a bit greasy and sticky.

Good food and an excellant place for children

By Levon M |

We visit Laurelwood on every trip to Portland. This time we were there for lunch. They have an excellent sandwich selection and you can't go wrong with any of them. The young children are very welcome there with 2 different play area for them plus numerous coloring books they can take to the tables while waiting on their food. They have a number of their own site brews and I have yet to try one I didn't like. prices are quite reasonable.

Over cooked and over priced

By canada36 |

My wife and I recently stopped at the Lauralhurest Pub for lunch. It was a stop we ever should have made! I ordered the chicken strips with tater tot. Both items were way over cook. What ever the chicken was dipped in came out almost back and stuck to the chicken like cement making it hard to chew. The tater totes were well over over cooked. My wife's fish and fries came out some what better although although the small pieces of fish were buried deep in large portions of batter. When we were handed the tab, instead of us determining the tip, we told what the tip would be. The final bill came out to be almost $32, kind of steep for a mediocre lunch.

Great Father's Day brunch

By Tom R |

The wait staff was pleasant and enjoyable. The buffet was outstanding, killer ribs, meats, pastries, fruit, and you name it. Would recommend this place to everyone, just save me room.

airport location not good

By Educationsmith |

Service was very slow and poor. Several people were waiting for to go food and trying to pay bill so they could catch plane. No refills offered on beverages. No croutons in salad as described in menu. Food just so-so. Wait staff never asked if we needed anything else or if it was ok. Didn't see her to ask for anything else either. Found the bill under the stack of napkins she left. She never returned, so set out cash and left. Definitely won't return.

Go to drink, not to eat

By 666xan666 |

When we first moved to Portland, I was delighted to find a place with an area where kids could play while parents ate. The food was always marginal, but that was the trade off. The Laurelwood grew and changed locations. I have been to the NE Sandy location to eat a few times over the past four years, and I am fully prepared for the ensuing experience - decent beer, a kids' area, and bad food. The food has certainly gone downhill, which astounds me. The batter for the fish & chips is nasty; the veggie burger patty recipe needs to be reworked so that it is not mushy and and gross, (and which they also use for the veggie reuban) and the french fries are breaded and tasteless. French fries with beer should be a dependable menu item for any brewpub/restaurant! Anyway! Just hope to spare people the pain of going here without having to. Try the MOON & SIXPENCE instead. We tossed a coin and ended up at the Laurelwood, but next time there will be no coin tossing!! Argh!

Great Food

By George D |

We started with a local glass of wine and a microbrew. It only got better. We both ordered the fish and chips with battered fries, which came with a dill tartar sauce that was fabulous. Was recommended by the Best Western staff. Good choice for a filling dinner and a great selection of beer.

Probably our first and last visit.

By longoverdue |

Gave them an average rating because I am a first timer. We had reservations for a large party. There was a lot of confusion despite having the seating there reserved. Some of our party was in another area waiting for us, we were in the back room waiting for them. Once we figured out the mix up on their end and were together at one table we thought our troubles were over. We ordered our meals. When the meals started coming out they were not ours and we returned them. Then the meals came out at all different times. One meal was cold and it was soup. The next time it came out the soup was warm and his entrée was cold. It was a nightmare to say the least. We all ate at different times and we really needed to be back at our hotel for an early funeral the next morning. Parking is minimal and trying to cross the street from a few spaces we found across the street was like taking your life in your hands!! The food was not tasty. Hope they were having an "off" night.

Amazing Beers and Staff!

By Ron P |

Stopped by for a few beers. Excellent selection! The staff offered samples before we even knew what we wanted. Loved their IPAs. WE did not eat but the meals being delivered around us were wonderfully prepared and looked sumptuous

We so want to love this place...

By quizasx3 |

...but it keeps letting us down. When the #1 Battle Ground restaurant on Trip Advisor is Burgerville, you can figure we're a town without a lot of options. We anxiously awaited the opening of Laurelwood and have frequented it many, many times. The beer is definitely 5 star, especially the Workhorse. Unfortunately, Workhorse is off the menu and we're not sure when it's coming back. The wings are great, and we also enjoy the garlic fries. The rest of the menu, however, is hit and miss. They've had plenty of time to work out kinks in the kitchen, but they never seem to have found their footing. The service is also usually less than stellar. It's frustrating to see staff laughing and talking amongst themselves, when we are trying to get their attention. Up until now, they haven't had to try very hard. The comptetition in BG is limited, and we'll put up with a lot for good beer. We're down to just going in on occasional Mondays for 50 cent wings and happy hour beer. However, we're hoping the recent opening of the new Mill Creek Pub in BG will cause the Laurelwood staff to wake up and try harder to earn our business. Otherwise, we'll just get the occasional growler of beer from Laurelwood but defect to Mill Creek instead!

Great Beer, Great Food and did I mention the beer?!

By Dany Z |

Talk about hanging some awards for good beer, man, this place has killer IPA's. Now we all know that there is nothing better to wash down beer with than with enormous BURGER, their burgers are super legit!

Great selection of food and brew

By Marj S |

Warm and welcoming atmosphere for two gray haired women at lunch. Lots of choices on the menu from burgers, wraps, huge salads, quesadillas, and all types of artisan and locally brewed beers, ales, and hard ciders. The crowd was mostly younger so it was a good introduction to Portland's culture- laid back and quirky!

Beer is great. The food is good.

By bcpaula |

The workhorse IPA is excellent! It's right up there with some of my favorites anywhere. Service was friendly and my chicken caesar salad was pretty good. The day I was there, they had approximately 12 beers to choose from on tap. They also sell bottles to-go of their brews. I would go back for the beers alone.

A Great Brewpub

By gamuller59 |

This is a brewpub so you expect some noise, but my wife and I went on a Sunday afternoon and it was pretty quiet. We both had the Fish & Chips. They were so good. We ordered off of the Happy Hour (3-6) menu and it was plenty of food at a good price.

Great beer selection!

By summerjMA |

This brewery has lots of great beer selections and very friendly staff who will help you think through their many options. They'll even bring you free samples so that you can taste before you make a choice. I also like that this brewery and restaurant is family-friendly. They're very accommodating if you have young children and it's easy to still be out with your friends.

A Fine House

By jeremy g |

A great place for a meal! I tried the lamb gyro with a tree hugger porter; good food and good beer. Lots of choices on the menu so will return to try a few more. We were lucky enough to catch a sunny afternoon so the upstairs back deck was a pleasure: plenty of seating and low road noise from Sandy Blvd. Enjoyed several jokes with the service person; casual and friendly.

Excellent IPA

By DrDGeorge |

Expect long waits for a table on Saturday night, even after 9 PM. Although the great beer was worth the wait.

Great Place for Lunch

By julatta |

Good beer and excellent burrito! Seriously. Get the burrito! My daughter loved her mac and cheese. Wait staff was attentive. Will be coming back, for sure.

Delicious

By Pat M |

Our lunch contained all fresh ingredients, lean meat with no fat, delicious fresh salad & delicious cole slaw. We were pleasantly surprised to receive such quality at a brewery. We also loved the beers that we ordered. This was a real find.

Oh, the tartar sauce

By Kathy R |

I know, right? I just don't like tartar sauce. But this meal of fish and chips was like no other. The beer batter was crispy, the fries battered and the tartar sauce is a dill and caper mix that I ended up putting on everything on my plate. We wish now that we had split the dinner, it was a lot of food. My husband enjoyed one of their brews and I had a delicious local wine. Gotta tell ya, this road trip through Oregon has provided many memorable meals, and this was definitely one of them. Highly recommend.

somewhat disappointing

By Ready2Travl2 |

Interior was a somewhat chewed up. Sticky floors. Rubbery fish in the tacos. beer was ok... though several we wanted to try they were out off. Sadly, not worth the stop.

Travelling bite

By Sandy H |

Great massive food that will fuel your engine and keep you running on high for days....wow it's delicious and cheap too!

Great late snack

By RJSimon2014 |

Came here after 9 on a Friday night for beer and snacks. Who knew there was "hoppy" hour? Great beer and food. The fish and chips and the chicken bits were great. The fries were the best!

Bad Clams

By HummerBob |

While our experience at the brewery was pleasant, with a friendly server, the aftermath was dismal. My eggs, sausage and English Muffin were OK, but not remarkable. On the other hand, my wife was violently ill within a couple of hours and remained so for the rest of the day and the following morning. Beware the Clam Chowder.

Fun, Good and Well Worth the Trip!

By Dodge1616 |

Great Beer here! In fact so great that we purchased a couple six packs to go! We ordered the the sampler which included eight samples of micro brews for $10.00. I ordered Mike's Margarita which was just so-so and we ordered tater tots for an appetizer. Great service, good food and the beer was amazing!

Chaotic place with average food

By jwwcpa |

Do not go hear unless you enjoy chaos and noise with just average food and drink. Poor acoustics, overcrowding, a very unhygienic children's play area with just average food makes for a bad experience.

A good place for a meal

By Warren W |

This kid-friendly restaurant can take both kid-families and childless couples, and make it work. Food is good and a very good selection of adult beverages. But, be warned, not a 'quiet place'. Parking can be a problem, so go early to find a spot. Pricing is good on both food and beverages.

Best Beer, Worst Food

By SonnyDisco |

This place has award winning Beer. In my opinion the best IPA in the world. The food is bad. The atmosphere is good if you like little kids running around and bad music via satellite. I would suggest buying a growler of Workhorse IPA and making your own meal at home.

Late night dinner

By jessicasB3623EG |

Went here with some friends for a late night dinner. We had all just flown in to Portland that afternoon and needed a place with good food and a nice beer selection. This place was excellent on both counts! The wait staff was great. They were able to make drink recommendations for all of us. Everything we ordered was tasty and fresh, even at 10pm! I would definitely go back to Laurelwood if I ever make it out to Portland again.

Great beer and chill vibe

By Brook P |

I didn't realize this brewery was as well awarded as it was until we went inside and saw all of the various awards. Once we had a few we realized we've been missing out, everything they make is very good. Didn't eat here but will next time.

Great Flights

By HBwino |

Had a chance to meet up with a friend here. Great service and the brews were very satisfying! Oh I will be going back when I'm in the area. Check it out for yourself. Parking can be tight, they have plenty of spaces, but this place can pack a crowd no problem.

Best Cobb Salad

By Ginny60 |

I had a cobb salad while waiting for my flight. The BBQ chicken is delightful and huge enough to use for two meals. The service was excellent, the place was clean and quite busy. I recommend this place, but expect huge meals.

Airport location

By Harry R |

Hmmm, well it looks like some are reporting on the airport location, so I will do the same... I had about a 1.5 hour layover here, and this restaurant was the closest/only restaurant to my gate. You have to be an adventurer to order a burrito at an airport restaurant. I am, and I'm glad I did. I ordered a chicken burrito with a side of chili and jalepenos. I have to say, it was delicious, and large. I only had water, so I can't rate the beers, but from a food standpoint, I was very pleased.

Good food & Bar.

By John D |

Had a Sunday night dinner with local friends & family. The waiter was very friendly and helpful with our food & drink selections. Above average 'bar' atmosphere and a large group would have a great time there. Food was well worth the prices - and very good food at that. With a full bar, you have plenty of choices in your drink selections. Family friendly with a 'toy play' area for the little ones. Crowd noise was not an issue during dinner.

Enjoy and Relax

By Julie Mae |

Was in town for a family funeral. Very long tiring day. Wanted to have a nice relaxing, stress-free meal with family and this brewery came up in conversation. After arriving, it took a minute and us saying something to the hostess for her to notice us...but then we were promptly seated. Our server was friendly, courteous, and patient with a bunch of indecisive people. Though a few of the selected brews were out, we got our order in and drinks delivered quickly. There is a great little place for kids to play and entertain themselves while waiting. Food was great. I shared a roasted garlic burger and loaded tots with my hubs. The burger came with garlic fries, that were very awesome! My daughter ordered a salmon burger with teriyaki, cukes, and carrots. She loved it. Our Aunt and Cousin shared a massive salad and an order of nachos, and had plenty to take home. Son gobbled his burger and steamed broccoli. After we stuffed ourselves, we spent almost an hour just chatting and finishing our round of beers. All in all a great place for families. Casual, comfortable, and relaxing atmosphere.

Good food and Brew

By TucsonTraveller2 |

Nice place to eat and get a local brew. Had the Reuben sandwich, others in party had Pig Dip, Greek Lamb gyro. All were very good and good portions. We had local beer which was very good. Nice place to eat.

The Food was Good

By Rob2222 |

I ate at this location with work associates for dinner. Over 10 people were drinking beer and they seemed to like it. The food was a little above average. The restaurant was very loud and it really needed updated. I don't think that I will ever be back.

Interesting largers, overspiced burgers ...

By Harry B |

Popular pub and grub. The decor is a little tired. Lots of brews and burgers to choose from. Unfortunately my Chorizo Burger tasted like 100% Chorizo and 0% Beef -- way too spicy. Pleasantly surprised, in this super-saturated pale ale world, that Laurelwood had a few largers to choose from!

Great beer.

By Lee T |

We stopped to enjoy a few beers and nachos. Everything was very good. Service was fast and friendly. Also a good family spot as they have a kids play area.

Go for Happy Hour

By dstew7003 |

The Fish Tacos and Laurelwood Burrito were tasty and generous, go during happy hour before 6:00 PM, we had four pints, dinner for 2 and dessert for $41, Mother Lode Pale Ale, Tree Hugger Porter and the Workhorse IPA all very good.

Dissappointing

By 1999Spurs |

Steak was poor. Had some of a friends chicken mac and cheese and it was quite tasty and hearty. Beers were average. Waitress was outstanding but food offerings left much to be desired. Not worth the drive from the NW side of town.

Great stop!

By Stacy M |

Great stop while travelling with the family (three kids). The food was good and the beer was great. Service was excellent. And it is a bonus to have the play areas for the kids. All three (ages 19m, 4y, and 6y) and a good time after a day on the road.

good and bad, would visit again

By Tacoma_Rick |

Stopped in here for dinner. It was busy but I think more of staffing issue which is seems to be common on Sundays in restaurants. Service was friendly but very slow. They ended up comping part of our bill though due to the long wait. Got my beer after dinner arrived. Like I said, friendly just slammed. I’ve been in that situation before so I get it. Yes, It was frustrating but didn’t ruin anything. They have a nice kids play area which is awesome! Love that some of the breweries and restaurants have these in Portland. It also helps ease the pain if service is slow. The food was ok, not great, the beer was awesome. Front desk was friendly. Overall I would try again.

Awesome

By Melissa C |

My husband and friend of ours decided to take a beer tour of Portland. This was our first stop and it was the best stop. The beers were amazing and the food even better. I don't think I've had a better set of chicken wings, ever. We will definitely be back for more.

Fantastic Burger, Even Better Beer

By Danny Dee |

My partner and I came in for happy hour on a Sunday because we wanted to try a new place in an area that was new to us. We were initially drawn in by their cheese fries with pico and pork belly but were sad to learn that the dish was discontinued. Instead we had the crispy Fried Zucchini and split a Free Range Red Braised Garlic Burger. It had the perfect amount of garlic in every bite. Our server, Morgan, was extremely knowledgeable about the menu items and the beers/cider they had on draft. The friendly service and fantastic food will definitely keep us coming back.

Excellent servers and great food

By jxnmom |

We had dinner here with about 15 other people. We took up 2+ tables. The waiter was excellent - very upbeat, friendly, helpful and attentive. Each table's food came out at the same time and everyone had a good dinner. Of course, the beer is really good too! Plus, it was within walking distance of our daughter's apt.

Airport location - a good place to grab a bite

By OutdoorBoomer |

The airport location in Portland International Airport is a good place to stop and have a bite and a decent beer. Our soup and sandwich were delicious and the beer was good. The service was so-so.

Hits the Spot

By GoingThere77 |

Happy Hour was a good time for our first visit to Laurelwood. Indoor seating with AC, or rooftop view under umbrellas. Well-rounded menu & drink selection. Walla Walla sweet onion rings on seasonal special were priceless. As reviewers note, a great family place complete with play area. Keep that potential commotion in mind if the hostess seats you next to it. Yes, the parking lot was also a welcome surprise. We'll be back and maybe pick up a growler.

Fine brew pub

By h2oTECH |

This place jumps during the week. No wonder why....fine brews and varied menu. I will be returning on my next business trip.

Great beer and food

By Deb D |

Went here twice on our week in Portland. It was close to where we stayed. The beer selection was very good and the food was great. My favorite was the Korean lettuce wraps. Delicious.

Good food and beer at PDX

By Silverwoods |

Myself and a business partner had a solid Crispy Chicken salad, beer and Oregon Pinot. Overall, the food and service were solid. It was a bit pricey relative to the restaurant setting and quality but you are going to pay a premium price at an airport. $15 for a glass of Pinot is ridiculous though.

Such a delightful lunch

By Mary R |

We arrived and were very hungry! We tried a couple of beer samples and then ordered our beverages, along with the garlic fries (a must!). We ordered two kids' meals and a burger and an enchilada platter. Food was delicious and servers were attentive. Can't wait to return.

brewery & Public House - Need I say more!?!

By dnelson_1971 |

What I love about Portland is the availability of brewery's that serve food and their beers. Their food is good and they have excellent beers. If I could talk my wife into brew pubs each time we travel into Portland, I'd have this place on my top 10 list.

Delish locavore food with some organic brews

By Laurel K |

Whenever we're in Portland, we make a point of eating at the Laurelwood Brewery, either at its northeast location or in the airport. Laurelwood serves awesome food, most of it sourced locally and/or sustainably. And the beer, made on site, is outstanding. The perennial beers are great, but it's always nice to try a seasonal brew. And a couple of their beers are made with organic ingredients. In the airport, the Laurelwood is always a super alternative to drab food, whether you eat in their restaurant or carry the food on board the plane. Viva Laurelwood! You won't be disappointed.

First flight of the night

By Brett C |

Love how the food paired with the beer. The ipa was excellent. I also enjoyed the patio seating. We will return.

Just Okay

By Treyceme |

I was very disappointed. We ate there on a Sunday. We got there about 30 minutes before brunch was done and they wouldn't allow us to order off the dinner menu. They did have a few lunch items on the brunch menu. My sister had a burger that she said was really good. I had pancakes and they were....pancakes.

More than a brewery

By Jim H |

Super selection of beer and food. Surprisingly not a bar food restaurant. Small but very tasty menu. Salads, burgers and sandwiches with fresh ingredients. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Been here four times now for lunch and each time did not disappoint. Only problem is the limited amount of parking available.

Should be ranked even higher

By Doug S |

This is a hidden jewel. From the outside you don't expect much but wow, the food is fantastic. We had the Laurelwood burrito & the Pulled Pork Mac and Cheese. Both were far better than we expected & way more than we could eat. The locally brewed beer was equally good. And the service was 2nd to none. Highly recommend!

Good beer, great fries!

By mollipop776 |

My friend and I shared the beer sampler. I had the most amazing garlic fries and a burger. Nice atmosphere.

5 stars for the beer, 4...

By Scenic442797 |

5 stars for the beer, 4 stars for the bar food, 3 stars for the atmosphere when kids are in there. Caters mostly to the "young couples with kids" crowd. But they do have growlers to go :)

Great beer & food

By bu1larry |

A good solid brew pub with some pretty great beers on tap & tasty food. Not in the Downtown area where so many breweries have set up shop, but near the Hollywood district. I sat at the bar in both visits and the service was amazing, the bartender was friendly and helpful. Both times, i opted for a burger, blue cheese burger and the burger of the month. They were cooked perfectly, and they had no problem with me customizing them a tad to suit my taste. The beer.... 😃👍🍺 There are a ton of breweries in the Portland area, but this is a must try while there.

Great Food

By Eva Boryer |

we go here a lot, its a great place for lunch and dinner and the french fries are REALLY GOOD, laurelwood is a great place for families and has a special area for kids to play with a train table and lots of toys.

Nice brewpub

By SFJF8182 |

Tasty beers, great friendly service. Menu contains standard brewpub fare with a couple of twists. We had the lamb gyro which was alright, and substantial, as well as the juicy lucy sliders which had a very nice flavor. Loaded tots are worth the calories! We had their rotating seasonals to drink- an Alt which was a little dark but still crisp and refreshing, and also a milk stout on nitro which was oozing with yummy creamy goodness. We also liked their porter mustard so much we bought a bottle to take home. Nice relaxed place to enjoy a pint of some of the best brews PDX has to offer.

First Class Brewhouse, fun family enviroment... Family????

By Eddy |

My wife and I meet in Portland twice a month after I arrive home from a month on month off job in Alaska. We get a hotel room for the night, and religiously have an evening meal here. Why? Because as the other reviews have stated: Great Food, Great Beer, and GREAT SERVICE!!!!! Did I say GREAT SERVICE??? Yes....! The last time we were there, it was cold and rainy (PORTLAND?, cold???, rainy????), and my wife brought the dogs up from our home in Alsea too). Anyway, we had a great meal, superb beer, and was thoroughly entertained by Benny, our waiter and the rest of the staff. We stayed until just before closing time, cashed out, bid our fond adieu's and left happy. Outside, the rain was still falling, and the dogs, in the back seat, were glad to see us. But when I turned the key, the sound of silence was deafening. Tried couple more times... nothing. so, no sense sitting in the car. The dogs were to only ones with fur coats, so we hurried back into the Laurelwood and made a call to Triple A. Due the scope of the inclement weather (a tornado was raging on the coast), the wait time for a jump would be approximately two hours or more.@$#%&**#%! Benny see's us at the door, and inquiries about our dilemma. He say... "no problem, I'll just bring my car around and give you a jump. Long story, short... Prius's don't do jumps. Hearing this, the bartender volunteers to bring his 80's vintage Ford F-150 around to help. But to no avail, our car was just not starting. Now what? Benny then suggests that if we were willing to wait a few minutes while he finishes busing and closing his section, he'd clean up the kid stuff from the backseat of his car and deliver us...dogs and all to our hotel. Good service???? you betcha. Oh, and about the "FAMILY??" part. The Laurelwood has a separate "Family room" set aside with all sorts of activity toys to keep busy bees happy and entertained. All in all, a great dining out community asset.

Somewhat disappointing

By YearoftheRabbit |

Our favorite beer of all time comes from laurelwood. But this location was very dingy. The kid play area was very dirty and sticky. Of course the beers were top notch and the food awesome. Wish we had a better experience.

Good place for a brew and a meal

By RSNN |

It had been a very hot summer day in triple digits and I felt like a nice beer. I was walking up Sandy Boulevard when I spotted this place. I had been to the one over in Westmoreland and liked that place a lot. That was good enough for me. So I headed straight for the building. I sat down at the bar. Looks up at the listings and ordered a FREE RANGE RED. It cost $6 and was very good on a hot day like today. I looked through the menu and spotted that they have one day a week were they offer a BEER and a BURGER for only $10. Well that wasn't on Sunday. Otherwise I would have jumped on that awesome offer. It's such a great sounding deal. I notice a family walk in and sit at the booths. So the place is family friendly. Give the family a place to eat... and allowing for the Adults to enjoy a drink at t he same time. I like their beers. Some mighty good beers can be found here.

Nice Layover Brewpub

By Erich M |

Had an awesome halibut sandwich with Tatar tots, and a rye ale. Fish was excellent, tots okay, and ale crisp and full. Service good for a packed airport venue. Not a fancy place, but good food and plenty of brews.

Work Lunch

By Jesse White |

Stopped in for a work meeting while in Portland. The restaurant was pretty calm during lunch and there was plenty of room in our booth for our meeting. The food was good and service was great. I would revisit.

ALWAYS a good spot to eat and have a beer!

By Dimples22 |

We ordered from the Happy Hour menu and a beer. We shared the Fish Tacos and the Mac 'n cheese. YUMMY! I'm quite choosey about my beer (not a real beer drinker) but they always seem to offer something enjoy. The service was SUPERB! The waiter was enjoyable and offered suggestions for the beer AND food. We were seated promptly and the order was taken quickly. The food arrived without much of a wait at all. We can't give enough compliments about Laurelwood Public House & Brewing. IT IS GREAT!

Great service, beer and food

By jxnmom |

This is an easy walk from our daughter's apt. and an easy choice for us when visiting. The service here is excellent! The beer is always cold and good and we've never eaten anything we didn't like. On our last visit, we stopped in for dessert and beer and wine. Their cakes are soooo good!! We'll be back for sure!

Great happy hour (food pricing). Easy parking. Outdoor seating

By LostinTransit10 |

If the weather is nice, ask to sit upstairs, outside. Nice weather = July, August, and September in Oregon. It's no smoking, even outside. Service was attentive. Happy hour food prices are very affordable (I think happy hour ends at 6 pm). Food was good, especially for the price. Not fantastic, but good. I would certainly go back again.

Tap Notch!

By CWC |

Pleasant surprise. Needed lunch near airport and I actually parked on the street in front of Laurelwood to go eat at Gustav's next door. I stopped to look at the menu and the blackened salmon tacos sounded great and they were! Awesome beer, great food and service. I would come back again.

Good porter

By Jeff T |

Tomato soup and grilled cheese was great. Very busy yet we were in and out in 45 min. Wide range of beers and I liked the Space Porter.

a nice well apointed brewpub

By cidertom |

good food, good beer, whats more to say? Well laid out with a variety menu. I had a Pulled Pork CHIMICHANGA...( $12.95) larger than most nerf footballs. every plate I saw had large portions. friendly staff.

great place!

By dvhtbm |

We like to look for brewpubs when traveling. We found this place iin Battle Ground, WA. It was great. Nice patio - love that outdoor dining. Dog friendly. Good brews. Good food. Nice service. Worth a visit!!!

Fish Tacos

By hmariecj |

I've never had fish tacos, but the ones at Laurelwood made me wonder what I've missed out on! There are a few fish choices you can make with these and I chose salmon. SO GOOD! There were plenty of other options on the menu ranging from salads to burgers/sandwiches. There food is free range and the food was AMAZING. My friends tried their garlic fries, try them! We also tried their ice cream cookie sandwich dessert, you can choose different cookies and ice creams. This place was great for dining out, I will be back to try more

Great place for families

By Explorer679907 |

Has little play areas to help keep young children occupied! Food was good. Service was great! Waitress asked about dessert by spelling the word so the kids wouldn't know in case they couldn't have any. Definitely a pro move.

Great place for lunch, if you enjoy smelling hops

By R_G |

We stopped by as soon as they opened, the place smelled very strong with hops... my kids called it "sweaty horses". Did not bug me, kids were not please. I ordered flight of beers and cobb salad, very tasty on both parts and the price was very reasonable. Very nice location inside, and service was really good.

Good pub food and great beer

By Mary B |

Laurelwood Brewery used to be a favorite of mine but when they moved to Sandy Blvd my love affair ended. The new site is fine but the parking is atrocious. Still love their beers (available in grocery stores) and if you are lucky with parking spots go there. Get the Black and Blue Burger. Hmm all their burgers are good along with the Cubano, Chicken Wrap and they have one of the best turkey burgers around. Free Range Red, Workhorse IPA, Red Elephant, Tree Hugger Porter are all wonderful beers. By the way, one of the nearby restaurants is closing so maybe the parking will improve.

Consistently tasty and pleasant

By RootlessRoutes |

My (20 something) son lives in Portland and I visit him here quite often. I’ve taken my son and his gf here a few times and we have never been disappointed. The hamburgers are excellent, the salad I had was very good. The drinks were worth their price and the servers have always been pleasant. Kind of a loud place, but warm, friendly and comfortable. Id say it’s a good place for family, friends, business and pretty much anything. Cannot find the pics I took. I’ll add them if I find them.

fun family lunch

By Barbara H |

We had a fun lunch here today for 10 people including 4 small children. All the food was delicious and the beer which they make was good too. The side for families was very kid friendly with a play area to keep kids entertained during lunch. Go there if you're looking for a yummy meal.

Family friendly

By svensurgeon |

Great brats. Friendly with a play area for children. NIce to enjoy good microbrew in a bring -the-kids atmosphere wtihout having to settle for a national chain with stable but unadventurous food

WHATS REUBEN!!!!

By Tim H |

Had lunch with a colleague today. Reuben and apple slaw, man was that a good Reuben. Great atmosphere, friendly service and good prices. I'll be back!!!

Good food/good price/unusual for an airport

I ate here after judging a horse show in Eugene. I was tired, so not the best attitude. The waitress was a DOLL, brisk, polite, always checking. I ordered the cheeseburger w/ carmelized onions, bacon, fried egg & tater tots. GREAT--way too much food, but really good. Quick to refill good coffee----- Under $15-----I will make a point to come here again!

Good Service and food Nice peak of brewery

By John M |

WE had excellent service from Sarah, as we sat near the bar with a peak of the brewery. Might have to wear a sweater as their is a chill coming from the work area. Typical pub food, but with a typical Portland flavor. We just had burger, salad, and fries, but the fries were really good. Great casual place for lunch, did not make it back for dinner, bt we will the next time in Oregon

Amazing beer and Great Food

The food can be a bit pricey but the happy hour menu is decently priced and the beer is absolutely amazing! Workhorse is my personal favorite.

Great beer and food!

Flew into Portland, checked into our hotel near the airport. Wanted to go to Laurelwood since we really like their beer. 7:00 on a Saturday night, but got lucky - got in right away, sat at a booth in the bar area, no wait, no problems, great service from the guy behind the bar. I liked the seasonal Flower Power IPA and my husband loved the Workhorse IPA. And we tried their enchilada and the burrito. Both really tasty and huge! Fine with us - we hadn't eaten since breakfast so we cleaned our plates. Loved our beer, loved our food, great service. Definitely coming here next time we come through.

Great place to wind down

By Rheynardine |

My wife and I dropped in after a long day of work. We discovered the Laurlwood to be a great place to wind down Dinner was fantastic! I was tempted to lick my plate. My wife's comment was "gravy!" The beer was very good, the service exceptional!

So-so food

By JanCado |

Our experience was quite unique. There were several problems with our orders, ranging from food coming out late to foreign objects (hair?) in some of the food. The service was decent, and we were comped several items on our order, plus given a $30 gift card for a future visit. The problems were handled well and the people we dined with commented that this was an unusual experience. We would not choose to dine here again, but mainly because we did not feel the food was anything special.

Disappointing for an evening meal

By Jon W |

Was very disappointed with our first visit to Laurelwood. Obviously, this review is based on a rather limited portion of the menu. The burgers and sandwiches may be great, but of our dinner fare one was mediocre and the other poor. We sampled the St Louis Ribs and the Chicken Burrito. The Burrito was satisfactory but not good and certainly better executions of this dish exist all over town. The real culprit however was the Ribs. First, they were dry. They certainly were not 'off the bone' tender. They were not very meaty. The sauce was not as good as something you could buy out of a can. The french fries and cole slaw that accompanied the ribs were quite good. What can I say, probably the worst rib dish I have ever eaten. I like ribs, and think I would have been tolerant of something that fell short of really good ribs, but these were just not good and I would think sank to the level that should have been an embarrassment to the purveyor. So, perhaps we picked the wrong entrees to order. The service was also left wanting. It was adequate, no better. The place was moderately busy, but not overwhelmed. We were seated in a back corner (which was fine) and waited quite awhile for a waiter to take our drink order. On a positive side the glass of wine ordered was a nice pour. Since we were in a bit of a hurry we asked if we could also place our meal order. Not a problem. Drinks were a bit slow to come. Dinner arrived in a reasonable time, delivered by a different person, which was fine and seems to be the new trend. But there was no follow-up, no refill offered, no inquiry about our satisfaction with the meal. The next contact by the wait staff was the delivery of the bill and inquiry if we wanted anything else. Again, no follow up on the quality of or our satisfaction with the meal. Very pedestrian service to be sure. We will probably try Laurelwood again for a sandwich or burger and a beer. It may be fine as a pub for sampling their craft beer and enjoying something less taxing to prepare. But its one more try and if our experience is repeated that would be the final attempt at patronizing L'wood. Based on this limited exposure I would definitely not recommend this restaurant.
