I have visitied Le Marais several times in the last year. It's always a little different, always good. People work there, real people so sometimes the service is a little better that other times, but there is always kindness, willingness to help, and smiles. The food is delicious, but check the details. I ordered a scone and was surprised to get a rosemary scone which didn't really go with the strawberry jam. Bit of a jolt there . . . I like the unique system of ordering breakfast boards - it looks like a little bit, but good luck finishing all of it!!

We had the tuna sandwich with a very nice salad. Also had the salmon with the pastrami and the salmon croque. All were delicious and would highly recommend if you are hungry and want great food.

Great coffee, small place, but the pain au chocolates are wonderful! Has ambience for a coffee shop/breakfast place. Very reasonable prices too.

We went there for breakfast. The place is cosy and warm although very noisy. We ordered small things to share. They were out of most of their teas, and avocados. Therefore, some of their dishes on the menu were not available. We were struck by how little organization they have. They forgot to bring us some of the things we ordered. We had to ask several times. It seems that the staff there has no assigned post. Everyone runs everywhere. This being said, the pastries were good and it seems it is their forte. It is a French inspired place with American dishes.

I Took an expensive "espresso" . Worst taste ever, awful . Sugar stuck into the jar. Pretentious staff

Excellent food and staff. Do wish they would have more staff during the week, but the one floor lady that works there is amazing. We went there when they first opened and we thought, we will be back but not until they work things out. They did and they have great food, pastries and so much more. The clientele is truly San Francisco and we have been making it a point to come back again and again. Great job!

It’s a French place (Le Marais, either from Paris or from Poitou) where the staff is cool and pleasant . Menu is short, simple but tasty like Eggs Bénédicte, soupe à l’onion, salads. To be improved : the kitchen (or part of it) is open in the dinning room and the cooks made terrible noises with panes, pots, glasses.

The brunch wait is obscene for what you end up getting. However, the boards are a great way to sample a lot of items that are pretty good.

Amazing French pastries, delicious coffee, great salads and sandwiches. Great breakfast spot with amazing quality at a decent price in San Francisco.

We had breakfast here this morning, I had the French toast with the egg and sausage which was the BEST French toast meal I have ever had. Everything tasted so good and the sausage was a creamy texture. My husband had the bacon Gruyere which was also GREAT. Service was excellent and the atmosphere is great. We also split an almond croissant which was really good. It was the best breakfast I have ever had and well worth the money!

Starting your day right, is perfect coffee, orange juice and made from scratch bakery. Relaxed vibe for local friends with their dogs, listening norah jones or nina simone, eating bacon croissant toast, croque madame and banana bread. Great place!

Dropped in to have a coffee & snack while waiting for shop across the road to open -- and so glad I did! A beautiful light and sunny place, staff are polite and efficient and the desserts (as mentioned) are AMAZING. I had a custard bun: a delicate buttery pastry bursting with an improbable amount of smooth vanilla custard. A bit out of the way, but honestly worth the trek from the city centre.

Lovely food, lovely location! The food was incredible, I had the florentine Omlette and my husband had the eggs Benedict with prosciutto! It was served on a croissant and I could not have been more jealous. The location was lovely, couldn’t fault it

This is one of two bakeries with the name in San Francisco. The coffee is excellent and so are the pastries. Free wi-fi. Inside and outside seating. Good for people watching.

Beautiful place. They sell great pastries and sandwiches, tried a few and they were all very good. Great place near Castro.

We stopped for a quick breakfast prior to a meeting, and were sad we couldn't stay and enjoy this sunny, charming place longer. I had a 1/2 bacon, egg and gruyere croissant with a dollop of onion jam that was absolutely delicious and came with a small side salad. It was large and filling, and at $8, was a reasonably priced breakfast. The wait-staff were friendly and professional. There is outdoor seating, and even in December, San Francisco served up a sunny, warm outdoor experience. We will absolutely be coming back!

Authentic Parisienne croissants and petite dejeneur in San Francisco! Named after the fashionable Marais district in the 4th arrondissement in Paris 🇫🇷 The ambient French music and b/w photos are nice touches - they have locations in the Castro, the Tenderloin and Mill Valley in Marin.

Sweet little spot for counter service of french pastries or seated service for a meal. At 9am Sunday we were told it would be 35 minutes for our meal to arrive. More like 45 and we Devoured it in 5 minutes. Our meal was delicious coffee was great but they need a bigger kitchen. Will certainly go back

The problem we have experienced with this place - when our ambition has been to grab just one coffee - is that once you stand in front of their bakery assortment, you are lost! Will just mention the almond pastry!

This restored had a crazy line but we were seated prompting. Beyond the the gorgeous ambience, the food is extremely average. Our server was very helpful but the food is not worth the wait. Wouldn't go back here again. Sorry.

We had a yoghurt dish with one of the creamiest yoghurt I've ever had. Delicious! And it was topped with fresh fruits and honey - yum-yum! A smaller cake with lemon custard and meringue in its most perfect form combined with a good cappuccino made this morning a treat!

Stopped in with a friend for coffee and pastries. The savory scones were great. All the sweet pastries looked divine too.

Four of us went to Le Maria's for Sunday brunch , and we truly enjoyed it . A varied and tasty menu , big portions , friendly and efficient service, and a great ambiance . We'll definitely be back .

We had heard a lot about the new Le Marais Bakery that made moved in on 18th & Sanchez. But hadn't had a chance to sample. When we say seating outside - we grabbed it. it has been some time since I was last in France, so anytime I can enjoy some of the flavors I look forward to it. I really like the Le Marias “Board” menu which lets you choose from a variety of options. This is perfect for me as I am not normally an omelet person. After waiting for an unusually long time, a server came over to check on us and I think realized we hadn’t even been offered coffee. Once they fixed that and took our menu, we were pleasantly surprised when another server came by with an offer of two curtesy pastries to apologize for the delay. Not being one to say no to the temptation of the baked kind, I went with the savory scone of the day and Paul grabbed the almond croissant. So just to stop you from wondering if you should? YES! you should. They were great. The scone was the right balance of cheese, dense and savory with chunks of ham. While the croissant was crisp, rich and layers of the almond filling but not so much it was like paste inside as some other spots tend to do. We both opted to order from the Board Menu, my going for a smoked salmon and lox theme and Paul with a more traditional egg, avocado one. From a quality perspective - I was very pleased. While paying for the check, I went up to the counter and purchased a few other take homes and again was pleasantly surprised when the house tossed in an extra croissant for the trouble. It is service like this, that will make me a customer on a routine basis. I don't need extras on every visit - but I do appreciate places that put the effort out to recognize when"service had a moment" with a gesture. Overall a great showing at Le Marias Bakery in the Castro

We arrived for brunch and had to wait over an hour for a table. The food is comprised of baked goods and mostly pre-made dishes. I'm not certain why the service is so slow. The boards are a good deal, but not worth the wait.

Just west of Dolores Park, this bakery and cafe should not be missed. The facility as typical for SF is small, with a few tables outside. Staff is welcoming, and very adept at managing guests at serving breakfast and brunch. There is also a bakery counter at the back of the store for baked goods and coffee. I recommend the incredible strawberry puff pastry, and the chocolate as well. Just like ti with bread and jam! So very good!

Pleasant with an array of rich pastries and a light menu. Sunny, and generously supplied with outlets for the folks who set up shop.

We’ve tried this place six times in the last two weeks due to its prime location next to our home. We brought friends and family and were embarrassed by the bad service and very long waits every time. Today I’ve had it. One staff at the counter was chatting with someone and ignored the people waiting next to the Wait to Be Seated sign. I had to approach her and ask why they couldn’t seat us. She then says, oh sit anywhere and order at the counter. Then she goes in the back. The place is nearly empty but they didn’t even start making our coffee for nearly 15 minutes. And then they brought them one at a time. What the heck is up with the management of this place? Terrible. Skip it.
Delicious though a bit expensive
It’s a good adress for those who love french Patisserie and Bakery. Croissants here are delicious. I had a fruit tarte, it was good. Cappucino is not bad. However, I found it a bit expensive like everything in SF. (10$ for a cappucino and a tarte!!) It also serves brunch and lunch. A bad point is that the kitchen is open and cooking smells indoor.
