We thought they would have more bakery stuff but its really a noodle/sandwich place. Very cheap. Food was pretty good, especially for the price. More of a cafeteria style of seating. Very friendly service. Would come back again fer sure!

Bahn Mi works with in house made bread. Make your order a combo and get Pho with it. The also have Flan. Go early the place fills up quickly on weekends.

Truly a hidden gem in the Atlanta area. Amazing homemade bread makes the perfect Bahn Mi! Great service and personal touch.

Fresh baked bread on premise. Fresh ingredients and full of flavors that all compliment one another without overpowering any. Service was quick and friendly. The prices are fantastic. The sandwiches are on point and look forward to going back for the pho. Every bowl that came out looked incredible and by the patrons expressions were as good as it looked.

This is one of the cheapest restaurants I've been to. A sandwich costs $3.55. The bread is delicious--crusty on the outside and chewy on the insides. Loaves are available for purchase---3 or $1.00. Outside of the bread--I was kind of luke warm on the BBQ pork sandwich (banh mi). The meat was kind of fatty. I also had a strawberry smoothie and it was amazing--probably the best I've ever had. I would opt out of the tapioca pearls at the bottom. They don't add much and are kind of gross by the time you get to the end. The smoothie was $3.00. They only take case for orders under $10. I probably try this place again. I've heard the egg sandwiches are good so I might try that next time.

First visit today. Can't wait to go back! As one with a vegan diet, I have found it extremely hard to find vegan pho. Lee's tofu vegan soup ranks among the best I have ever had (second only to Yummy Pho in Athens, GA). Packed with hot fresh vegetables swimming in delicious broth. The tofu banh mi (hold the mayo if vegan) was delicious beyond belief. The roll alone is second to none. My only disappointment is that I have lived in Atlanta so long without knowing about this hidden gem. I have a lot of lost time to make up but with Lee's low prices, it won't take long.

This place has good food and has been consistent for years. The only negative is the lunch crowd. So, if you plan it right you can get good food at a great price.

Great little place for Banh Mi sandwiches, Pho soup excellent...do yourself a favor order the Number 1 combo, with an extra sandwich and enjoy!!

Fresh meats and the breads are cooked daily. I grew up in Atlanta, and will say that this is as good as it gets: best Vietnamese in metro Atlanta, food that native Atlantans will rate as a 10 right along with Vietnamese customers. Even my 10 year old daughter likes it and asks to go back.

Great fresh sandwiches....french style with Vietnamese influence. Most of them are just $3.50....so we all ordered2 because we didn't though for that price its going to be a big sandwich. But actually one would be enough. The only con: For my taste the bread was a little "airy".

I read a small review of this restaurant in the April Southern Living magazine. The author noted it is one of the top spots for a classic Vietnamese sandwich. I was curious, so we stopped on our way through town. What a delightful surprise. Don't go looking for great atmosphere, but the service was friendly and helpful, and the food was super We loved it and it was very inexpensive. Definitely get the banh mi sandwich, but other items on the menu are also very good. Don't miss the smoothies. The mango smoothie was the best I've ever had!

I was starting to think to myself that I don't give anyone a bad review, but then I realized, if your restaurant is mediocre it's just not worth my time to review. That being said, this place is so good. Super simple and delicious sandwich at an obscenely affordable price, how can I resist. I will travel across town in Atlanta traffic at the mere suggestion of getting Lee's.

Our waiter at another restaurant recommended Lee's Bakery. I love a good banh mi and try to find them when I travel. Lee's Bakery is relatively small. It is located in an old strip mall a good ways from downtown. But I thought it was worth the trip! The pork barbecue banh mi was excellent. The bread was fantastic! The crust was thin and shatteringly crisp. The inside was soft and tender. I would go again in a heartbeat!

Long lunch line, but worth the wait. Have never had an item here I didn't like…. good service and better fare. Visit!

Came to get myself a banh mi (Vietnamese sandwich) before head it out to the airport, at first the lady charged me a sandwich and a smoothie for $12+ after I confirmed it was a wrong order so there were only $7 and change. The mango smoothie is fresh (some places they had artificial powder) with .50 more I get some boba (black tapioca pearl). The sandwich hit the right spot... I might try the coffee the next time I'm in town

Been here many times, and love it. There is nothing fancy about it, but the bahn mi/pho combos are the best deal in town. The pho is great, but what makes the place are the bahn mi sandwiches. The fresh bread is just fantastic and worth going for alone. The place is friendly and efficient and has a pretty broad menu for what it is....I just can't get past the combo.

It was yummy yummy and yummy!! Literally LOVED how tasty my bowl of pho is and how big the portion is. I also had the spring rolls as my appetizer. All is GOOD. The location is at Buford. You may want to come to this place after your sunset walk at Lake Lenier (also in Buford area - further).

Been looking for a good place for a Bahn mi pork sandwich. By far the best I've had in Atlanta. Nice little place for a casual meal.

I had the Grilled Pork Bahn Mi on Lee's wonderful fresh bread $3.45, a Vietnamese coffee $2.50. As I waited to pay, I picked up a package of crispy cracker sticks dipped in strawberry icing from Singapore for a sweet snack - all for under $8 and all a taste treat. Co-workers tried veggie egg rolls with fish sauce, veggie noodle Pho with shrimp (the only thing free of MSG on the menu), beef noodle Pho, and mango smoothies served with tapioca pearls on the bottom. Everybody left happy.

There banh mi sandwiches are the best. We order the Chicken banh mi on every visit with a smoothie with tapico balls. So far, we like the mango smoothie best.

Lee's was the place I started getting my Banh mi in Atlanta based on the reviews. The sandwiches are cheap, quick, and very good but the bread is a little bit too thick and, well, bready. There is a good meat to vegetable ratio but the sandwiches come off a little dry because of the bread. They also don't hold up quite so well if you save hem for a later meal, as the bread becomes very tough. The nice thing about Lee's is that they have sandwiches all day, unlike Quoc Huong, which has better sandwiches, but runs out around 2 pm, so when I want Banh mi for dinner or to bring to a night shift at work, Lee's is the place.

When I traveled through Vietnam there was an amazing smell of beignets and noodles. This food took me right back there. Brought home extra noodles but forgot the bread. Oh well, I'll have to go back...xo

If you are looking for some good Bahn-Mi sandwiches for a good price, try Lee's. There location is tiny and not alot of seats sometimes, but you can get Bahn-Mi speacials to go.

We stopped in because we were looking for Vietnamese bahn mi sandwiches, then found out Lee's had been named one of the top bahn mi places in the U.S. by the New York Times. I have had great bahn mi (the best, in my opinion, are in Westminster, California---where you can eat pho in crowded restaurants at 1 am, after your Disney trip!), but Lee's prove to be right up there. Bahn mi takes the Vietnamese legacy of being a French colony by combining grilled protein (chicken, barbecue pork, barbecue beef, or tofu) with fresh baguette, and seasoning with pickled daikon/carrot. Then garnishes like fresh cucumber, cilantro, and jalapeno peppers are added. At Lee's, the bread is freshly baked daily. You can buy large baguettes for $1 (the best deal ever) and small sandwich-sized baguettes 3 for $1. The day-old bread is 6 for $1. An additional savings: buy 5 sandwiches, get 1 free. Sandwiches are ~$3 each, and they are five times more delicious than Subway's sandwiches, guaranteed. As we came late in the day, we did not see a lot of other baked goods. You can also browse the Vietnamese sweets on offer on the shelves, bean cakes, rice with meat wrapped in bamboo leaves, and sweet rice cakes. Try this place. You will leave happy.

My favorite spot for Bahn Mi on Buford Highway (Or anywhere else that I've tried for that matter) Pho is delicious...the beef cuts are particularly tasty in comparison to other versions I've had. The place is a step above a cafeteria in decor, but the owners are friendly and make you feel at home.

Best Bahn Mi sandwich ever. The food is amazing and what great value! Very friendly atmosphere, good service, and the food, absolutely a must visit!!

This place has the best banh mi around, and it is all due to that crispy bread! Pho, vermicelli, or the lemon grass chicken are also delicious choices. My absolute favourite are the spring rolls. The service is usually pretty prompt, but I will say that it can get very crowded especially around peak meal times, so I try to go during off peak hours. And the price doesn't hurt either, great for cheap eats! This is a place that lives up to the hype.

No frills, simply good food. Authentic food. Eat in and you never know who you will see there or sit next to. Take out and you will make friends with anyone you share your sandwiches with. By them, by the half dozen or a dozen, you will have not problem eating them all.

Best Bahn Mi in ATL. Excellent bakery. Cheap prices and quick service. Also can get deconstructed to take on the go. Must go stop.

I am visiting my daughter while in town and decided to stop in here. I had a banh mi sandwich and pork egg rolls. The banh mi was delicious and a very generous portion given the low price. The egg rolls were not a flavorful. Highly recommend this restaurant if you are in the area. The restaurant is a little hidden in the shopping center so pay attention to gps

The Vietnamese rolls are fresh and the sandwiches yummy! Scrambled egg is my favorite. Partner that up with beef noodle soup for a great winter warm-up. The restaurant is no frills but the food is worth it.

Buford highway is packed with delicious food, and this is one of the best. Very friendly service, quick, and delicious. You can't beat 3.50 for an awesome sandwich. The bbq pork sandwich is quite delicious, and the pho is fantastic. Love this place and will continue to go back! Additionally, Do yourself a favor and hit up sweet hut for dessert afterwards.

Mr. Lee (who is still there everyday waiting tables and greeting his guests) is AMAZING as is his EPIC Bahn Mi! Thank goodness this place is so close because Pho and Bahn Mi make the world go round! Lee's bakery is a not-so-hidden gem on the Bu-Hi (Bufor Highway) corridor where almost every taste bud can be satiated and this is no exception. The New York Times thought so highly of the establishment that they were rated as having the best bahn mi in the US once or twice. If you have even a small inclination to expand your horizons this is a great place to start and if you already love Pho and Bahn Mi then you need to come taste the gold standard of those delicious dishes. Yes I know my function, capitalization, spelling and sentence structure is terrible... I am after all writing reviews on a travel website and most certianly not an english teacher :-P

I love the roasted pork bahn mi. I tried the pho for the first time and thought that it was good as well. It gets a little crowded in the front area to place orders at lunch time but that's because it's good food, and a great value. They're very generous with the vegetables on the banh mi and you can request extra meat, but I had a nice amount of meat on my sandwich without the request for any additional.

This place was written up and it lives up to the hype. Delicious. You won't be disappointed. Can get to go or eat in.

This is fast food Vietnamese hole in the wall located on the main drag on Buford Hwy inside the Buford Hwy Strip Plaza. It has plenty of parking, however they do so much business that sometimes the place is packed. The service is excellent, fast and the food is fresh and delicious. Prices are extremely reasonable. Some of our favorites are the Pho small/large, the Banh mi (which they make with a variety of proteins) $3.25 , spring rolls (chicken, tofu, shrimp) $4.00. I highly recommend it.

The bakery is located in a very small stripe mall next to a gas station, no fancy signs and if you blink you will miss it. I ordered spring rolls and combination noodle pho the first time. The pho was a medium size and the bowl was as big as my face with a lot of noodles and all kinds of meats. Only $12.50 that surprise me! I came back two nights later and order a grill pork sandwich, talking about a Hugh sandwich cost less than $4 to go! Tasted really good -pork, cucumber and cilantro on a baguette. Definitely a place you don't want to miss if you are on a budget and you have a big stomach!

I have wanted to visit Lee’s Bakery for a while and I had my chance this weekend. They are located on buford hwy next to an Exxon station. Pretty easy to find. I like that it is very casual. No need to dress up. I came for lunch and I was seated. I ordered the pork banh mi and spring rolls. The service was okay. They were friendly but a little slow and never came back around to fill my water drink. The sandwich arrived and it lived up to the expectations. Very good. The bread was awesome I understand why folks were getting baguettes to go. I had to slow my pace of enjoying the sandwich or else I would have nearly finished the sandwich and had the spring rolls for dessert. They did finally arrive and they were good but nothing special. When I was done I was not sure if they brought the check or if I paid at the counter. I finally a was able to ask and you do indeed pay at the counter. Note if you are going bring cash. The sandwiches are dirt cheap (3.50) and the min credit card payment is 10$. It was a little confusing paying because folks were coming in for to go orders and lots of folks were standing around waiting. I enjoyed lunch so much I decided a rainy day was a good day for pho for dinner so I went back that night. Service was about the same okay at best. The Pho was good but nothing I would go crazy to have again. If you are there and enjoy pho you won’t be disappointed but if you are not in the area its not worth making a special trip for it. The Banh Mi sandwiches are as good as advertised though. I’ll be going back when I get my craving again. I wish they had better service and were a little more organized but I can deal with it for a great banh mi sandwich!

Best bahn mi I may ever have. The phone was outstanding as well. Lesson learned, a whole sandwich and soup pushes the boundary of reasonable portions. If you have a friend, share soup.

Lee’s Bakery is a family owned Vietnamese restaurant that has been called one of the top 10 Banh Mi Vietnamese Bakery-Cafe's in America. My favorite Bánh Mì is a baguette, with cilantro, pickled carrots, cucumbers, lettuce, jalapenos, a light sauce and grilled barbecue pork. You can get it with tofu, chicken, fish or egg instead. Their Pho give you a choice of Medium or XL bowls: both served with generous portions of meats, noodles, and seasonings. This is a no frills place with fresh food, fresh breads, big portions and small prices:

As usual, this place is always great. I got my usual fresh spring rolls and vermicelli with shrimp and egg rolls. The food is always great. My friend got the crepe, as usual, and she also enjoyed it. The price is right and the place is usually full. On a previous visit I got the pho because I was feeling cold coming on. Sure enough, after a wonderful bowl of chicken pho, my cold disappeared. I will be back.

It's 2 in the morning and I'm sitting in my bathroom with one of the worst indigestion/ food poisoning ever. The only new thing my wife and I ate today was a grilled pork bahn mi sandwich from Lee's bakery. The only reason why she's not sick herself right now is because she only took two bites out of that sandwich and I ate the whole thing. Now the reason why she only grabbed two bites is that the sandwich was of poor quality to start with. The bread was chewy and seemed old (supposed to be fresh and crispy). The pork kind of looked undercooked. The whole thing lacked any sort of flavor. We were really disappointed because based on the high reviews and local TV segments about this place, we thought we couldn't go wrong. I ate my sandwich mainly because I didn't want to throw my $5 to waste...well, I'm about to spend a lot more at the pharmacy in food poisoning medicine. I definitely need to find a way to report them to health authorities. I know I never get sick unless there's seriously something wrong with a food item. In the meantime, be very careful about this place my friends...

We live in Savannah, Ga. Every chance we get when visiting Atlanta, we always stop in and buy the Banh mi sandwich and Vietnamese egg to take back to Savannah. They have fast service. It's always busy in there. We will come back.

Bread was incredible and the insides were delicious! Spring rolls were ok. Can't wait to try the Pho and Bun. Lees Bakery will now be a couple times a week lunch spot(both dine in and carry out)

We enjoyed going to Lee's Bakery. While we prefer the pho across the street at Nam Phuong, the banh mi at Lee's is unbeatable, with crusty bread and the perfect combination of meat and veggies stuffed inside. A casual cafeteria-like interior is a perfect setting for a quick lunch or dinner with coworkers or friends.

This place is delicious! Cheap and good; for something really unique try the crab and tomato soup. I love it, but it is probably not for everyone. The like yogurt drink is superb, and the regular pho and fish sandwiches are great too!

Every time I am in Atlanta I go to Lee’s and Com (thank goodness they are in the same shopping center). I get 6 pork bahn mi’s and take them back home with me... usually only 5 make it back and sometimes only 4 (don’t judge it is a 4.5 hour drive).

The Pho soup was delicious and the prices on the entire menu cannot be beaten, but the standout for me was the pork sandwich and the baguette that it was on, wow! You can also get 3 baguettes for $1 to take away, where can you beat that!

As nearly every other review here says, it's all about the bahn mi sammiches. You won't be disappointed. It's in a little strip so it's a bit tough to see from the street but keep looking...it's worth the trouble. Parking is right next to the restaurant and is easy.

We ordered take home for four adults and three kids. The sandwiches are large and the soups are huge. We had more than enough as one gets a free fifth sandwich when ordering four. The menu is quite varied and the service is quick and efficient. Will probably go back.

We love Lee’s Bakery. Have been going to this family owned cafe for a couple of decades. Wish their coconut curry and tofu soup was vegan. But otherwise, love everything about this place!

Absolutely delicious bahn mi--and for only $3!! They also have specials for take out. Service was fast and friendly. If you like Vietnamese food, you must try Lee's!

This is an awesome authenic Vietnamese local spot with tons of character. Lee's offers fresh made bread for the banh mi sandwiches along with a large selection of traditional Vietnamese foods. You can get a combo with nice bowl of Pho and a half banh mi sandwich for $8.25. What a tremendous value for fresh tasty eats and fast friendly service! Note this is not a fancy or modern place and also note the bakery only makes the bread and not cakes and cookies. We highly recommend this spot!

I give it a five for the food and the service. The actual building environment and atmosphere are not a five but it's definitely worth it to go for the food. The bánh mì sandwiches are excellent; the rolls are always fresh and crisp. I love getting a combination -- half a sandwich and a bowl of pho. My husband loves the vermicelli bowl with pork and shrimp. The prices are very reasonable. You can buy day-old rolls to take home and make your own if you really want to!

Banh mi goodness~ This place is fairly close to my work so it's always easy and tempting to go here everyday. Seriously... a huge sandwich for under $4?? Can't get any better than that. I usually go for lunch and pick up a couple of banh mi with a co-worker. I usually get the grilled pork - super good! It comes with pickled vegetables - carrots and daikon, jalapeno, cilantro, and the meat of your choice (in my case it was the grilled pork) in their crispy house-made baguette. If you order 5 banh mi, you get another one for free! The only critique I have for this place is that they don't consistently prepare the banh mi. Sometimes I find my meats all in one corner or all on one side so sometimes I'm just taking a bite with just the condiments on there. It's not a huge complaint but it's just one thing I've noticed compared to other banh mi places. Nevertheless, Lee's Bakery has some awesome banh mi. They are also opening up another location in Pleasant Hill in the near future so a congratulations to them for expanding the business up north. So be on the lookout for their grand opening! They serve other items such as pho, which I haven't tried yet so maybe I'll have to try that soon. They accept credit cards but there's a $10 minimum so remember to bring cash just in case. Another go to place to satisfy my banh mi cravings~

We’ve been coming here for a long time and I’ve been compelled to finally write a review. It’s a no-frills kind of place but the food is amazing. The bread for the Banh Mi is always fresh because they bake it in-house. The broths are made the traditional way unlike other places that use some powder mix. Someone who works there gave us the scoop. The grilled pork on the sandwiches is always really good with minimum fat (unlike other Banh Mi spots I’ve tried). If you’ve never tried it, I recommend it. The prices are also fair and they have combos of sandwich with pho/soup you can get which is a nice addition. The only thing I would do is maybe update the inside but like I said, it’s a quick meal kind of place with no frills.

This place has awesome Vietnamese Sandwiches for only $2.50. The soups, breads, and bakery items are all wonderful. Very decently priced. Great place for breakfast or lunch!

I echo the reviews below: Lee's bakery is a fantastic culinary experience. It is definitely a no-frills, hole in the wall place, but the food is amazing. If you go, definitely order the pork banh mi; they are $3 each and are delicious. The bread is perfectly crisp on the outside and soft on the inside, and the meat is perfectly seasoned and grilled. They also have other traditional Vietnamese dishes like pho and bun, and you can get a whole table full of quality Vietnamese food for about $20. We ordered a mango smoothie and it was very refreshing.

Best Bahn Mi's in this City! Their Pho is also excellent, the combination of Pho and Sandwich is a winner. Service is normally good, staff is helpful, language can sometimes be a barrier. Parking is adequate, but Restaurant can become extremely crowded so chose your time carefully.

Been twice now and the pho is very good, with Leaner meat than others I've been to. They also have very good bahn mi on fresh bread, my favorite is the BBQ pork. The best part is you can get a combo of pho plus half a bahn mi, so you don't need to choose and it's under $10.

Great food. Got the pho and half a pork sandwich for lunch and was really impressed. I ended up going again for lunch the next day.

It pains me to say it: they have slipped a few notches. They used to be one of my favorites, I would bring friends and family there, brag on them... Before I went to Vietnam, two years ago, I consulted with several people there (advice on restaurants, sites etc.) I actually got ill after eating there about six months ago, but accidents happen, I was willing to give them another try. Today’s visit, I’m not ill, but the food was not fresh. I got the #27, Combination Vermicelli Noodle at $8.25. The flavor was good but the egg roll was not fresh (I was there at 11:30ish, it was stale and had lost it’s “crisp”, I think it was yesterday’s egg roll). The BBQ shrimp was tiny and over cooked and the pork was mostly fat. There are so many really good Vietnamese restaurants nearby. I’m sorry to say, this is not in my top 5 anymore. Try Pho Bac (about 2 miles toward 285 on the right), Nan Phoung is good, Pho Dai Loi in the Little Saigon shopping center...

Yes, I know, everyone goes to Lee's for their bahn mi sandwiches. And why not? We happen to think they're the best in town, too. But, they have so much more to enjoy! S got the bahn mi because he was craving it. That bread is heavenly! But I was feeling adventurous and tried the fried rice with beef chunks. Not the best name for a dish, but oh my is it tasty! We started with the pork egg rolls (scorching hot when they first serve them) which are also really delicious. We also tried their iced Vietnamese coffee which might be the best iced coffee in town. Wow! Total cost for lunch? $20. How can you beat that?? LOVE LEE'S!

You just can not go wrong with these dine-in prices! But don't be fooled, just because it's cheap doesn't it's mean it's crappy food, quite the opposite actually. Everything is SUPER flavorful, and as authentic as you can get with Pho, so authentic in fact you just might have trouble understanding the wait-staff because they are Vietnamese. It is the best mom-and-pop stop I've come across in a while. For the first time visitors, the Pho (soup) and Bahn Mi (sandwich) combo is the way to go, because then you get to try the delicious Pho and the in-house baked fresh bread (which id also delicious!), I recommend the grilled pork Bahn Mi....YUMMY!!!! The only down side to the sandwiches is that sometimes the portions of the meat on the sandwiches or in the soup can be on the small side :(, but honestly you can't complain because you can get the Pho and Bahn Mi for less than $8. And another tip, if you are going for lunch, be prepared for a full house starting after 11:30, this place really is that good, that they get a full house everyday, on the upside they do take-out orders! :)

I eat here about once a week. I just love the pork Bahn Mi, be sure to order it with extra vegetables! Sometimes I get the beef pho soup combo (with full bahn mi) if I am hungry enough. They also have a buy 5 get one free bahn mi special for togo orders, so order a six-pack togo! They don't accept Credit Cards for orders under $10. This is fair, because CC processing companies have a minimal charge per order, and how cheap the Bahn Mis are, they probably lose money on orders less that $10. A easy fix for this is to get the 6 bahn mi special togo with your lunch!

Came here for lunch after being highly recommended by friends. I ordered the beef noodle soup combo with the pork banh mi sandwich. The sandwich comes out right away -- the bread is extremely tasty and crispy and I loved the pork and the sandwich's fixins. The soup is also awesome, with plenty of thinly-sliced beef on top. I loved the broth and the noodles were a treat for me and my son. I thought about getting a banh mi sandwich to go (it's a little cheaper to go than if you order it to dine in) but maybe next time I will!

What a wonderful place to eat authentic Vietnamese food without breaking your budget. Yes....this is a hole in the wall...and yes....the food is excellent. Try the smoothies with boba for an exotic drink. The vermicelli noodles were more mushy than I am used to. The owner was very friendly and came over to talk with our group. Great for an exotic, low cost date or an intro to Vietnamese food.

I just had dinner at Lee's Bakery and agree with the consensus that it is the best Vietnamese restaurant in Atlanta. In order to try a few different things, I got an order of Cha Gio as well as a small soup/half Banh Mi (pork). Each of the three dishes I had were the best of their kind in Atlanta. My daughter had a beef dish with rice and she loved it. I also like the fact that the prices are all very reasonable and Comcast customers can access XFINITY wifi there. Service was very quick and informal. Lee's Bakery earned another loyal and regular customer.

This place is the best restaurant I've been to for cheap eats in Atlanta--forget Taqueria, forget Eats. $2 po' boys and $5 bowls of Pho and vermicelli are fantastic. The baguettes and croissants are delicious.

Welcoming and bustling, busy place with plenty of parking. We are now devoted fans of the Grilled Pork Sandwich and would strongly recommend it. It was too hot for us to enjoy a bowl of ramen but the massive bowls we saw delivered to other tables assured that this is a very good option.

The lunch special here is incredible. A ton of food for cheap, and it's absolutely delicious! The seafood pho was great, and the banh mi rivals anything I've ever had before. I'll definitely be going back next time I'm in the area.

They have the best (and most reasonably priced) roasted pork banh mi sandwich in town. Their Pho is OK, but I'm not a Pho fan. Their smoothies are quite good to. I love their durian smoothie. It's not on the menu, but ask, they usually have it. I've tried their other food on the menu, but I keep going back to the roasted banh mi. It is outstanding!

Based on the reviews I wanted to check this place out. The parking is decent but can be pretty tight. Inside there were a couple of lines: dine in and to go. The dine in line stayed pretty busy during our entire visit. The wait wasn't too bad. The service by an older gentleman that seated us was great, he was fun and entertaining. The rest of the staff focused on their role: take order, deliver order. They were pleasant and efficient. I had the half sandwich and soup: pork sandwich and vegan soup. Both were awesome and I enjoyed all of it. I never had pho before and this was a great first experience.

This place isn't much to look at; nothing fancy here. But the Banh Mi & Pho are both authentic & delicious. Definitely the best we've had in the Atlanta area. Also, the prices are great!

Excellent Bahn- mi Fresh vietnamese rolls and fast service- will be back with each trip to Atlanta! To go service also!

Our neighbors introduced us to this little out of the way place on Buford Hwy (where else?) Vietnamese cuisine, eat there or take out. No adult beverages. The thin skin shrimp spring rolls are a meal for me.

OK, I really did not understand the big attraction about Bahn Mi, but I do now. I had the tofu bahn mi and my partner had the pork one. Both were very good. The bread was nothing special but the combination of condiments and fixings make this one of the best sandwiches I have ever had.

This is the first time I've tried Vietnamese food. Let me tell you it sure is good! The Bahn mi and PHO are out of this world. I half expected to look over and see Anthony Bourdain in here. I will definitely be back. You owe it to yourself to try this place.

Stopped here on a recommendation and it was great. Had the 1/2 sandwich, BBQ pork, and the beef soup. Both were very good. Small place and very busy at lunch. There was a lot of takeout going on. Would eat here again for sure.

We live in West Cobb area. We've made the drive TWICE (so far) for the Banh Mi and Pho. I'm certain we'll make the drive again. That should tell you how great the food is!!! We'd had both the pork and chicken Banh Mi sandwiches. Beef Pho each time. Lee's prices are easy on the wallet, to boot. And the bread...AHH-MAZING!!

I have been on a Banh Mi mission lately. Lee's bakery is one of the best I've had in the ATL. Making banh mi is an exercise in simplistic complexity! There's not a lot of ingredients, but a truly superior sandwich has many layers of flavor tucked inside the perfect French baguette. Lee's Bakery has this all figured out. I say this as I brush the crumbs from my shirt, while driving on I-285. You see, I was planning on waiting to get to work to enjoy my 'Special' banh mi, but temptation got the best of me.....and now I have to vacuum my car! Seriously good eats here. Coming back tomorrow for a bowl of pho, after watching a young lady smile after each spoonful, while I waited no more than 5 minutes for my order!!!

This place serves up very inexpensive Vietnamese fare such as Banh Mi sandwiches, egg rolls, spring rolls, pho, etc.

The grilled pork Banh mi is really good, so is the beef pho. They have a lunch combo that is very thrifty and tasty. When we go we always take home bread.

I had a wonderful experience with Lee's Bakery. Me and two friends (from out of town) visited and ordered the chicken sandwiches, shrimp spring rolls, tofu spring rolls, beef pho, and a chicken crepe. Everything was amazing. Prices were outstanding. Sandwiches are $3 a person and a full meal all in themselves!!

We stopped by this restaurant and bakery on Buford Highway near its intersection with Clairmont Road, and were not disappointed. We had heard that Lee's had been cited by The New York Times for its excellent "bahn mi" sandwiches, so I had the chopped pork sandwich and my partner had hers with tofu. The sandwiches were delicious, with a wonderful combination of flavors (including pickled carrots and cilantro), put on freshly- made French bread. Its being an unusually cold day, my partner suggested splitting a beef noodle soup, which was very healthy and tasty. On our way out, we noticed six baguettes of "day-old" French bread for a dollar, which felt (and were) soft and fresh for take-home. While we were eating, we chatted with the owner, who was very excited to tell us that Lee's had been featured on CNN. We left very satisfied with a total bill for everything (tip included) of $15.31. I understand that take-out is even cheaper and that if you buy five bahn mi sandwiches, you get a sixth one free. We will be back!

Lee's Bakery has the best Pho for the best price anywhere. It is delicious. You can also get the traditional Vietnamese sandwiches, as well as stir fry dishes. They even have vegetarian Pho. Really great food and great value. Don't let the outside fool you or the location. Go to Lee's Bakery.

It might have been an off day for Lee's Bakery. I've had banh mis here before. I appreciate their buy 5, get 1 free deal. But then again, this offer is available at most other Buford Highway and Jimmy Carter places that sell banh mis. This time the "special" combo was meager. A few thin slices of meat and a thick layer of yellow mayo. The grilled pork was tasty and the tofu was fried and yummy. I asked for veggies on the side because it was a takeaway/to go order. I didn't want the bread to get soggy before eating them. I was super hungry so I also ordered spring rools, the "shaking" beef with fried rice, and chicken curry. The young college-aged woman with on trend chunky glasses who took my order was a bit curt. It was about 5 pm, well before the dinner rush. The dining room had about 2 tables with customers. When she asked me what I wanted with the curry: rice, noodles or bread, I asked if the noodles were "fat rice noodles". She seemed puzzled and rudely replied, "WHAT?" I asked if they were wide or thin. She said "thin." I asked for thin noodles. Yet when I opened my order, the curry came with white rice. The curry was watery but was rich and spicy. The beef was moist and flavorful. The spring rolls were skinny and bland but the peanut sauce also had a spicy kick. Next time I have a craving for banh mis and Vietnamese food, I will drive the extra mile to Huy Sandwiches in Norcorss (the elderly gentlemen will recommend to order # 9) or to Quoc Huong (cash only, closed on Thurs).

We had lunch at this restaurant based on the good reviews it has received. We eat Vietnamese food quite frequently and were extremely disappointed in Lee's Bakery. The service was very slow and the food was awful. We had Congee, which was very watery and appeared to have soy sauce mixed with it, and pork chops which were cut up into a mess of small pieces (so more accurate to say chopped pork than pork chop). We also ordered iced coffee, which never arrived. There are plenty of other Vietnamese restaurants around that we would prefer of this one.

Tasty egg rolls, I didn't like their BBQ pork with ordered two plates with BBQ pork and some spring rolls and egg rolls Vietnamese. Is not bad but food can be better , they have good price and owner is very kind .

Great bahn mi sandwiches! Great iced coffee and smoothies. Avoid the lunch rush. It can get warm inside! Casual and very reasonable. New coconut curry soup is good for colder weather

Stopped by for lunch and had banh mi (sausage type) and spring rolls. One of the best of this style sandwiches I've had and the spring rolls were very good too. They make all of their own bread and too a bag of baguettes home. All for under $10.

Some folks think I ALWAYS get the same thing but that is not so. I do go for a Bun lunch once in a while, and I have had the "combo" there a time or two, but I ALWAYS get the "Double-shot of Vietnamese coffee". Sortof like a desert drink with an S-load of caffeine. I usually got a bowl of Pho, my dining partners gets chicken, I get a variety of types. The broth here is so deep, so good, that I/we measure the other places against it. Yes Mr. Lee does come by our table and talk since we are in there so often, but we always leave pleased..

Heard about this place from a friend about their delicious egg sandwiches and he did not steer me wrong! The egg sandwich was hot and well-seasoned and combined with the classic Vietnamese Bahn Mih fillings made for the perfect hangover cure on Sunday morning. Had the mocha boba--also delicious and the boba were nicely prepared. We hit during the brunch/lunch rush over and ended up with our tickets misplaced for a while (so that's the ding on the service), but overall, I'll definitely be heading back there again.

We went for lunch. We waited for awhile for our lunch to be made. It was really strange how it was delivered. It was not delivered all at the same time. My husband was eating his lunch when my daughter and I were waiting for our lunch. The food is okay.

Perhaps the best Pho outside of Vietnam. Their sandwiches are fantastic. Location is difficult if not using GPS.

Service was slow, I asked for no sugar in coffee, got sugar anyways. (Glass cup, lots of unmixed sugar at bottom) When I asked for new one, they just poured it in a new cup in front of me, stopping before the sugar and said here you go. LOL so we paid for our drinks and canceled our food orders.

Best I have ever had. I was told this was the place, and I moved in just down the road. Now it's right on my way to work. Fantastic food.

Goi cuon, cha gio, banh mi, lemon grass chicken, pho, and smoothies all excellent and good prices. The menu has more than these but we like these items so much we just keep coming back for them, plus the great baguettes that are so cheap. The only thing lacking is that they don't serve beer.

Lee's is my go to place for simple, reasonable Vietnamese food, as well as, I must admit, an occasional craving satisfier. Others, including the NY Times, have lauded Lee's for its banh mi, so how could I say they are anything less than wonderful. They are wonderful!! My favorite is the grilled pork (sweet, tasty, unctuous) surrounded by lightly pickled veggies, just the right spreads, and crispy bread. (I like mine with jalapeno. And, veggie options with egg, tofu, or all veggie) The 5, 6, or 7 combo of pho and banh mi for a mere $7.25 cannot be beat for a simple, yummy and filling lunch or dinner. 7 days a week, with hours that stretch from early to latish. Every so often on the way to or from the airport, for some reason, is when a craving strikes and can be filled for $3.00 as a to go. And, do check out other items - good seafood crepe, summer rolls not my favorite but acceptable - need more mint/cilantro or other herb, and greasy in a good way egg rolls. Only wish they would make a shrimp banh mi as I think it would be great.

I tried a little of everything here: Pho, Banh Mi (Pork), and spring rolls. The spring rolls were good, the pho was good (would have preferred more onions and it was missing jalapenos which I really like in pho), and the pork banhi mi sandwich was just addictively good. I didn't so much care for the dry crispiness of the bread at first, but by the end I thought it was a nice counterpoint to the soup. This is a great, inexpensive place to go for a delicious lunch on the cheap. We did dinner take out and got a bowl of pho, 2 pork banh mi sandwiches, and 3 large spring rolls for about $17.00. BTW - front counter staff was very friendly.

I had the pork Bahn Mi. It was excellent. The marinated pork was so flavorful. It was a bargain around $3.50. They also had good spring rolls too. I had a Strawberry smoothie with tapioca pearls. It was the best smoothie I have ever had. Full of strawberry flavor and smooth as can be. I would have eaten there but on that day it was cooler outside than it was inside. Too uncomfortable for me. I would have loved to try the their Pho. I'm sure it tasted good as it looked.

Following a extensive newspaper AJC review of the Buford Hwy restaurant scene, I went to one of the top rated & I experienced why. The only conundrum: why is bakery in the name. Except for some baguettes there were no bakery items, which I intended to buy for home as well as eat lunch. The dining area is large to seat maybe 30 +. We waited maybe 10 minutes to be seated at 1:00 or so. The menu has a selection of maybe 35 Vietnamese foods. Our selections were generous portions & tasty. The manage stopped by our table for light conversation. I will use this good experience to visit other top rated eateries on Buford Hwy which is a 50 minute drive for me.

This restaurant is well known for it's Bahn Mi sandwiches, and with good reason. Many of the other Vietnamese restaurants, several of which are excellent, serve mainly pho and other traditional Vietnamese fare. However, they do not serve Bahn Mi sandwiches. Lee's serves both, and does a great job. The restaurant is clean, but by no means fancy. It is a terrific place to grab lunch and is often quite busy. The prices of all the menu items are very, very reasonable. This may be one of the best deals in town.

I've been on a quest for a great banh mi sandwich lately and Lee's is the best so far. The lunch special of half a pork banh mi (on home made bread) and a bowl of spicy beef pho is such a good deal and absolutely delicious. A lot of pride goes into the food. Couple tips for first timers: Go early or late for lunch if you don't want to wait. The place is packed, and so is the parking lot. They don't bring you a check when you are done, just note the table number and go pay at the register. Don't forget to grab some fresh baked loaves, 3 for a buck. Also, the Vietnamese coffee alone is worth the trip. Very intense coffee with sweetened condensed milk, served hot or over ice. Its as good as it gets.

Lee's is the real deal - it is an Atlanta institution which combines great food, great service, and an authentic great vibe. First, the food it is all fresh made and out of this world. I had the grilled pork and rice plate. It is very excellent - the awesome bonus is the `sauce on the veggies - it is so good I wish they would sell bottles of it. I also had a mango smoothie - it is so fresh - made at order - it was like we were at the mango farm. My wife had a Banh Mi - chicken - she loved it - as did, it appear, everyone else in the restaurant who ordered one including our two lunch guests. She also had the spring roll with shrimp and a egg roll - as did our guest - they all loved them. The food is served in generous portions at a fair price and it as good as you will get in Atlanta. Second, the Vibe: You are likely to sit next to a hipster twenty millennial as you are a corporate executive or a construction worker - the diversity of the fan base is impressive. The staff are very kind and professional. Plenty of free parking. Go enjoy - it is really awesome

Simple and delicious Bahn Mi sandwiches at a great price, hard to beat this deal. We love the Tofu Bahn Mi and the BBQ Pork Bahn Mi the most.

Have to say on the dy I wen the competition beat them in the Ban Mih dept but the sandwiches where still tasty & can't beat the price especially the buy 5 get 6th free take out deal. However, the vietnamese sweets their bread and croissants can't be beat. Cheap, too. another mega lunch crowd but service was quick & efficiet & there was no grumbling when I kept adding on to my order. Do yrself a favor & go eat here.

Even though this restaurant was quite a hike from Buckhead, the food was certainly worth the drive. I had the spicy pork noodle soup, didn't care for the Vietnamese bologna (very bland) but the vegetables in the soup were fresh & delicious. We got 2 pork sandwiches to go and those were great: spicy, lots of veggies and well-seasoned pork. Not impressed enough for a return trip.

Unfortunately no matter how tasty food is when it is completed in the kitchen, if the food sits for 30 minutes getting cold before it is finally brought to you it can only be average at best. Service was bad from the beginning, partially a language issue for sure, but given that we kept waiting and waiting for our food and finally said something when everyone else had food (including people who arrived after us) we finally get our orders, now cold. The bahn mi did not suffer as bad as the porridge, which was outright cold -- which is sad because the flavor was delicious otherwise. The vermicelli bun was only ok.

I love the Bahn Mi sandwiches here. They are DIVINE. Tasty, packed with flavor and great texture. I was an addict after my first bite. Get the full sandwich and bring home the other half if you can't eat it all. You will want more. It's that good! They bake their bread every day and you can also stop by to pick up some baguettes to bring home at incredibly low prices. I bout FOUR for $1 at around 6pm and they were still great the next day after I kept them in an airtight bag. Cannot wait to go back!

Bai Mai, Pho, best in atlanta and on Buford Highway's Asian corridor. Always consistent and always good. Cheap and affordable. Easy access off Clairmont 85 exit. Tables turn quick and staff is super nice.

Quick seating and service. Always love the fresh flavors of the food. Had the combo with tofu...Yum! Wonderful experience.

I brought a friend here who kept telling me how much she enjoys pho, she really enjoyed herself here! We both had the half sandwich and bowl of pho and really enjoyed both. It is really hard not to leave here with an arm load of fresh bread, it is soooooooo good!!!

The pork bahn mi was incredible and so cheap. The wait was also quick but I got it to go. They also had one of the better taro drinks that I ever had. The only disappointing thing was that the bread was extremely stale, which is doubly annoying since they are a bakery.

The bahn mi (VIetnamese sandwiches on French rolls) are some, if not the best I've had in Atlanta. Super affordable and filling. If you know what you want, you can call ahead to order and it will be waiting and you won't be

Lees was one of the first places I went to for a lunch meeting. I have enjoyed the Pho and the Bahn Mis there. You seriously cannot beat the value that you get from the Bahn Mis that I believe won a few wards in the area. For only $3 you get a pork (or another meat) sandwich? Seriously? And it is going to be that delicious too? I always recommend people to get two or maybe there (if you are really hungry) because they are not exactly stuffed with fillings but are still very delicious. The Pho I ordered there, while it was not the best on Buford Hwy, was still very tasty. Be aware of you go at lunch time this place will be loud and busy. Just plan ahead

Food is wonderful as is the Service. Sandwiches, Soups, and Appetizers are all first rate. I will be going back again very soon!

I am about as far out of my element as I can possibly get talking about Vietnamese food, so understand that this review comes from a beginner’s perspective. However, I know what great food tastes like and I do have foodie friends that I trust their judgment. So when my buddy Angel tells me “dude, you have to try this”, I take that recommendation pretty seriously. I’m glad I did, because Lee’s Bakery is definitely great food and one of the best bargains in town. Before we review any restaurant, we make every attempt to perform a little research prior to our arrival. Obviously we want to take a look at the menu online, check out the location, parking and other logistical matters. I also look to see what other people may have written about the restaurant, the menu items they liked, the comments they had. I look at professional food critics, food bloggers, and comments from review websites like Yelp and TripAdvisor. During the course of my research, I came across a gem, a tip to “ask Mr. Lee to do his ring trick”. So, when I was taking the panoramic shot that you see above, Mr. Lee came around the corner and I asked him to perform the trick. Mr. Lee had no idea who I am and was kind enough to do this just because I asked. Getting on with the review, I relied a lot on Angel to guide me through this. He told me “get the Banh Mi Pork sandwich” and I did. He told me to get the pho soup and I did. I did ask our server should I get the shrimp or the chicken? She said “chicken” and it was done. When our food arrived, I was amazed. Yes, I said AMAZED. Okay, its just a soup and a sandwich but the freshness of the ingredients is something that will hit you in the face As soon as you look at the meal. The sandwich is authentic, french bread baked that day. Remember that Vietnam was under French control until 1954, so the french bread is really FRENCH and its wonderfully delicious. The Banh Mi starts will your choice of meat, then greens and other toppings are added on. The pork was spicy and flavorful making the sandwich such a joy to eat. I hadn’t ever had Pho bepho(sp) (sorry, I couldn’t resist that) and I had thought it would be like Ramen noodles but its not. Instead the Pho noodles are almost translucent because unlike a traditional noodle like spaghetti, they are made from rice rather than wheat. For a beginner, Pho is a bloody mess to eat and certainly not a “first date” meal unless you want to impress your date with your ability to slurp noodles. You have two weapons to attack your Pho (another pun there), a large concave spoon and, of course chopsticks. Use the chopsticks with your dominant hand and the spoon in your non-dominant hand. I found it works better to place a bit of chicken on the spoon first and then pile noodles on top of it. It’s a fun meal to eat and the entire atmosphere is very clannish where you begin to think “when are we coming back” because you have such a blast and the restaurant has this really great vibe. Mr. Lee’s Bakery is one of the coolest restaurants we’ve been to in a long time. Mr. Lee’s warmth and authenticity, shows in the food that’s served here and you have to love seeing someone who enjoys serving others so much. Mr. Lee’s Bakery is a cult pho-nomenon (Sorry, I really can’t stop myself) and deserves it’s rightful place on Atlanta’s MUST VISIT restaurant list. Guten appetit!

This place is crazy good and crazy affordable. Everything I have had there is fantastic, but the banh mi sandwich is definitely the highlight of the menu. Crowded and loud, it's not the most comfortable place to sit and eat, but it's totally worth it. Just go, you'll be happy you did.

I always surprise myself by being able to finish the entire noodle bowl. It doesn't matter which one you order. Great sandwiches also on crunchy bread. Wow, so good!!

The Banh Mi bread will tell you it's a real bakery and the fresh ingredients make it highly delicious. I had their combo of Vietnamese soup and Banh Mi, a great lunch. Then, Mr Lee walked by and visited with us, talking about how he created the place and why the fresh food is so important to him. It was a fun experience.

This place was recommended by one of my closest Vietnamese friends that I trust greatly. Her recommendation was right on spot. the Pho here is amazing!! It is so flavorful and tasty. It has noodles in the bottom of the large bowl. It also came with a sandwich roll that includes carrots cucumbers and your type of meat. It all was $6.95. This place is the real deal. We came after the crowd left and there were still many diners there. The owner meet each person at their table. Curiously, he was showing each person the AJC article that said if you want to get away from Trump, go to the MLK memorial or Lee's bakery. Needless to say, there are a lot of Vietnamese people who go to Lee's. It was awesome!! I will be back.

Great lunch spot (maybe dinner to, but only been there at lunch). They have lunch combos for under $8 of a pho and half a bahn mi that are excellent and a great value. Also have fresh baked bread and desserts that are really good. The place is very basic, in a little strip mall next to a gas station on Buford Highway, but if your interest is good food, who cares? Only knock in my visits there is that in the summer it can be quite hot in there. Still worth going.
Family dinner
Fourth time this year with three families, 10 people, always good service, good food, good atmosphere, children no problem, reasonable prices.
