Hidden Gem

The view was nice and the street traffic below was barely noticeable. The outdoor seating was comfortable. The staff was kind and attentive. All our food was delicious and beautifully presented. We will return.

Mediocre

By Allan Stewart |

I’m afraid I was disappointed in this lovely restaurant. It’s on the roof top of the The Aster club. We were a party of 7 and although the ambience is perfect we found the food very mediocre. Service was good and our waiter very helpful. The lemon pasta was inedible. The waiter said it really should be called Thai lemon noodles. It had the dreaded foam on it ( a fad of 15 years ago which I’ve never understood) my steak was good but not great. Everything else was ok. I felt it was very expensive for what it was. And comparing it to Cara our favourite LA restaurant of the moment it wasn’t even close. Won’t be going again.

Absolutely great experience!

It all began with friendly and attentive Valet parking attendants in the building. The rooftop environment is really spaced well and is very inviting. That helps take care of the noise that otherwise might effect the evening. Our waitress, Jabeth was really great. She was attentive and helpful in her suggestions and patient with our indecisions. She actually made us feel like we have been regulars for years. The servers were also very professional and courteous. Tyler the manager came by to check on how we were doing and even helped take a couple of family photos. None of these people were obtrusive in their service. We ordered family style and shared most of the dishes. The quality of the ingredients was obvious and made every dish enjoyable. The presentation and portion sizes made for easy enjoyment. The Humus with the fresh vegetables was loved by all. The ciabatta toast with roasted tomatoes was so good. Actually the best tasting version that I have ever had. It was served with fig butter and fleur de sel, also wonderful. I am not a fan of Brussel sprouts so I did not try it. Others enjoyed it. The grilled prawn dish had a nice unusual flavor that worked well. The roasted Maitake mushrooms were cooked perfectly and nice size mushrooms added to the enjoyment. The Burrata caprese looked and tasted great. The lemon pasta, their signature dish was loved by all. The creccitiette pasta was scrumptious. It had rapini, calabrese sausage, arabiatta, parmesan oreganate Basilica. My daughter in law had and loved the grilled cedar plank salmon. I really enjoyed the duck leg confit. My wife really liked the Corn Esquites. They brought out a berry tart for my son’s birthday. Tasty and a very nice gesture. We brought our own bottle of wine and the wine service was perfect and in nice glasses. This was our first visit here and we plan to come back often.

Best Hollywood roof top for food and drinks!

The dishes are like a global expedition for your taste buds. With every bite, you're transported to different countries, experiencing a rich flavors and blend of spices, each dish captures the essence of multiple countries in a single menu. Best iconic Hollywood views in town, their roof top is my new favorite spot to bring anyone visiting from out of town. Parking: park at the property hotel, as a local I highly recommend it because they have the best rates. Plus, it’s much more convenient instead of searching for parking lots in the area.

Great rooftop cocktails

Grabbed a pre-dinner cocktail here it did not disappoint in terms of view, service, and flavor. Many places to sit and space heaters for winter months. Not memorable enough to travel across town but a solid spot pre-theater/dinner in Hollywood

Dinner before a show at the Pantages.

I absolutely love the aesthetic of this rooftop restaurant which overlooks Hollywood. It has a beautiful flower/succulent garden and lemon plants. The aroma and visual presentation was superb. I had avocado toast and it had a heavy lemon flavor. My mom had some unique lemon pasta with egg yolk, husband had the chicken and my brother and sister in law split a Cesar salad and hummus with pita. This is a great spot for a date night or brunch with girlfriends. Valet parking available in the hotel.

Ethereal space with solid food but rough service.

Cocktails were solid, wine selection limited but decent, no beer on tap (cans and bottles only). Appetizers were yummy: fantastic salmon tartare with nice toast (look out Perch!) and Aster meatballs (albeit a little on the salty side) and the portions quite generous. The entrees were likewise solid and filling: lemon pasta (dreamy) and short-rib rigatoni (chewy, meaty, and cheesy). Service was a challenge. Waiter disappeared for a long stretch b/w apps and main dish. When after finishing the pasta I asked for bread to sop up the delightful lemon foam leftover, I was informed it would a $5 extra charge (honestly, for just a slice of the thick toasty bread I had with the salmon tartar?). Being under the open night sky on the roof with heaters was lovely but be aware the rooftop is too low to provide any real expansive views (in case that's what you're looking for).

Food is superb but waitstaff needs to be more professional 👎🏻

The food was great especially the desserts!! It definitely matches the ambiance and view of this place. Our night went almost perfect expect for the service. Our Server Jabeth made us feel like we were being rushed the whole night and made a comment on how handsome my brother is and if he could marry her and give her a green card. She maybe joking but we we're turned off by the comment. I hope the management reminds its staff on being professional at all times. We would definitely come back if she's not around.

High ratings for Rooftop Gem

As I was searching for a brunch spot before a matinee at The Pantages, the internet served up Lemon Grove. Thank you internet! This rooftop gem was the perfect place to share a meal with a great friend. The staff was very accommodating, the service was exceptional and the food was delicious! We both ordered the rolled omelet that was brimming with sauteed spinach, savory mushrooms and tangy Boursin cheese. It came with delectable breakfast potatoes. The prices were very good for the location and the gorgeous views. PS. Many items that came to tables in and around where we dined looked very appetizing!

Great food, gorgeous atmosphere.

This is a very picturesque restaurant with an old Hollywood laid back vibe. Not touristy. The crowd looked to be behind the scenes entertainment industry folks. They closed fairly early at 3 pm but just got in and got excellent service. Servers very friendly. Got the angus smash burger which was melt in your mouth good and flavorful. The meat was juicy and cooked perfectly. The sauce was a good compliment. The side salad had their house vinaigrette which I asked for more of on the side it was so tasty. This is the place to go if in the area and especially if seeing show at pantages just across the street.

Super friendly and relaxed atmosphere

Fabulous rooftop bar with amazing views. The bar and restaurant is located opposite the capitol records building, it is tucked away and has a super chilled vibe. To access the Lemon Grove we went into the parking area to the left of the door that says Jemma hotel. Turn right through the wooden door and into a lobby space- take the elevator to floor six. Order wine and enjoy the views

Romantic, rooftop dining. Great food, drinks, service, all at modest prices.

A romantic rooftop Dinner with exciting views of Hollywood, all in a beautifully designed, landscaped setting. Great service starting with "Bo" the mixologist, to the receptionist and wait staff. Great starters, salads and main courses. Large portions. Modest prices (parking a bit rich at $20,00). Good table separation. Dine under the stars, under heated patio, or in the intimate restaurant. Start with Pate and a side of fabulous onion rings; Hollywood salad; duck taco, and impressive lemon pasta. No room for desert.......

Disappointing on taste, great atmosphere

Lemon Grove is a romantic rooftop restaurant with great atmosphere and kind staff, we were here for dinner last night. The menu looks appetizing but we’re overall disappointed by the dishes, they were all very fatty and tasted just okay. We had the bone marrow and the onion rings appetizer, the salmon and the steak and fries and (the best thing) the banana cake. I don’t think we will be back.
