Well, by the time I got there Saturday night they didn’t have any vegetarian options, but I can tell you that the cheddar cheesecake was delicious and I got to try the beet bbq sauce and the mustard sauce - both delicious. I was with meat eaters and they all enjoyed their food. The atmosphere was great, lots of wonderful dogs.

Saturday night at 7:00 and they were out of everything except tri-tips and some sausage. They had some pre-made brisket burger patties that were tasty, but not good enough to give them another shot.

LeRoy & Lewis bills itself as new barbecue. By that they mean it features different cuts of meat prepared in a traditional smoker. We tried their beef cheeks (the first time I ever ordered beef cheeks anywhere) and sausages. Both were excellent. The beef cheeks were moist, tender and packed with flavor. The sausages were delicious. L&L is located in a large lot that is home to other food trailers. They share a tree-shaded outdoor seating area. Parking can be a problem on weekends. The staff was wonderfully friendly, freely sharing their thoughts on their offerings. We even got a tour of their smoke shed.

We enjoyed the L&L food truck on previous Austin visits and were glad to hear they earned a Michelin Star and built a Brick and Mortar location. Unfortunately our experience with at new location was not as good as the truck at Cosmic Coffee. First everyone was friendly, helpful, nice, very apologetic and deeply regretful that they were out of a lot of their signature items we wanted to try just as dinner time was starting! Not sure how that happens at a serious restaurant. The BBQ was good some unique flavors, and the sides are amazing, but we had real problems with the pricey to go order we took home. Their packaging was diabolical (an inadequate sort of butcher paper, cardboard clamshells in doubled but leaky plastic bags) and made a huge mess in our car while traveling! In addition there was insufficient BBQ sauce included and they left out the bread they asked if we wanted and that we requested to be included. The new building plays homage to the traditional Texas BBQ environment but stylizes and industrializes that charm more than my taste. So overall good not great BBQ, friendly but marginally competent service, and you need to be really careful if your taking food to go from this establishment. Hope they are able to maintain their star.

Got there 2pm on a Friday, 95 minutes later landed a meal. A pivot on traditional BBQ. Heavy emphasis on carvery service and diversified side’s incorporating everything from Kim Chi to Pork and Rice. Grab a sandwich from the all day menu and airtasker someone to stand in line !!!

Wow. The line to order was worth the wait. The meat was out of this world. The sides were delicious and the cheesecake is not to be missed! It easy to see why this is a top ten bbq joint in Austin!

Great BBQ lives up to the Texas Monthly ranking. Beef Cheeks-must have, Fatty Brisket-must have and Wild Boar with Jalapeños - must have (specials on some Saturdays). Sides were good also. Line was not long at about 11:30am. We have been to the Cosmic area many times, mostly in the evenings. This time it was to hit up on L&L.Bbq

Went twice. Both times, the food was excellent, especially the beef cheeks and tri-tip. Saw a review that it was oversalted and overhyped. Must have been a bad day but I personally don't believe Evan Leroy would serve bad food. He has a true chef's touch with what he does. We were first in line on a week day, getting there less than 1 hr ahead of opening. Staff was great and the experience was really good. On our 2nd trip, Evan himself handed us menus. Highly recommend.

Did this dinky food truck desrve a five. Perhaps but while it was very good it wasn't perfect. I went on a Saturday to get the bacon rib and the brisket. They sold out of the bacon rib before I could order it, I was about number 30 in line. The brisket was a ten, best I ever tasted. The sausage was the biggest surprise it too was a ten and I just don't throw around tens, they were absolutely fabulous in taste, tenderness and texture. The burger was very good not great the beef cheeks were tasty but a little too fatty for me in texture, my daughter loved them. It was overall a wonderful experience worth the hour and a half wait in the very slow moving line.

Of all the barbecue spots in (and near) Austin that I tried LeRoy and Lewis was the best all-around spot. While Franklin Barbecue had better brisket, L & L has superior ribs (the bacon ribs were super yummy), delicious sausage and awesome beef cheeks. The sides and desserts were a welcome and tasty addition. L & L provides excellent value for money with their 2 meats and 2 sides special. Sadly it was raining when we visited, but no worries, it was collocated on the grounds of Cosmic Coffee and beer which has indoor seating and a great selection of beers, specialty drinks and coffee creations to go along with your barbecue. Thanks LeRoy and Lewis for an awesome lunch!!!

Hidden gem for sure! Food Truck style. We tried the Wagyu Brisket, Baracado, 2 different sausages! If in Austin check it out!

I loved the meat! What I had? No idea!! i just asked them to decide for me. I’ve got two different meats, one cabbage and sausage side order, pickles, jalapeños, and two sauces. Everything is delicious…. although I feel it’s very pricy for what I’ve got!! 27 usd and no beverages…. Thought I would have a lot to take back home. Well, I didn’t. Its in an open place where they share space with other food trailers.

Excellent food! Loved the burger - it was huge! Enjoyed the pork belly also. Great sauces. Sides were a bit weird - don’t recommend the slaw or cabbage. Cute food truck area. Misters to help with the TX heat.

Runs out of core items too quickly. Person working the line doesn’t care if you flew in from out of state. It’s just “too bad, so sad”. Completely apathetic. Why do you tell people on your website to order beef cheeks and whole hog for first time when you run out of those before anything else? Make it make sense. The counter staff is also rude and tells you different things depending on who you talk to. When ordering, they tell you that will get 3 different sauces with the chicken; that is a lie. You’ll get one white sauce and you’ll be made to feel like a criminal for asking for the 3 sauces you were told that you would get. Also, the man cutting meat complained that he had to “dig in the warmer” for more chicken. Sadly, the food is extremely overhyped for the price and awards it claims. The chicken has no smoke flavor, just over salted and spiced skin. The hop sausage is like licking a brick of salt. The brisket is mediocre at best. The cauliflower (which I normally love anything cauliflower) is borderline disgusting. Everything, literally everything, is over salted. So disappointed by this entire experience. Avoid this place unless you like doing the “trendy thing” no matter how bad it is. If you’re staying downtown, save the gas/Uber money and go to Terry Blacks or Coopers.

Prepare yourself for a very slow moving line. I had the pimento sausage, flat iron, carrots and frito pie. Austin is at heart a southern town where salt dominates, and this place is no different. The flat iron was sublime but the rest was just OK. This place is too clean and sanitary- go to Lockhart or Taylor to get the real, funky, smoky thing.

Solid BBQ, seems like good people, but an absolutely horrible process. Came in from Atlanta for the 4th of July weekend. Arrived at 12:30 and was told it would take between 45 minutes to an hour. 3 hours later, they were out of 9 items and still had 4 parties in front of us. Guys here is a suggestion, go outside the truck and take orders of people in line. Then have the order ready when the person comes up. I promise you will double your profit and not piss off and then run off your potential customers.

I had seen an eater video about Leroy and Lewis and drove down. The cauliflower burn ends were smoky yet still had a crunch. Really cool. The briskets was up there with the greats and the bbq sauce was perfect accompaniment. The sausage was also quite good. The kale salad was okay.

It’s like they’re doing you a favor by serving you overpriced BBQ and expecting a tip. GTFOH. You’re in the service industry, if you can’t offer a service with a welcoming smile don’t bother expecting a tip.

Everything that we had was delicious! The sausages were probably my favorite, although the brisket was right up there. Sides were traditional with a twist. We loved everything. Staff very warm and friendly. Thanks for the hospitality and great food.

First time here. Great spot with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. We had heard the lines were crazy so we arrive 30 min before opening and were first in line on a WEDS. We tried 6 different kinds of meat and sausage plus a few sides. The beef cheeks and flat iron were standouts. The brisket was also very good. The pulled pork and barbacoa were quite tasty as well. Great service. Nice, new, clean spot. We would return!

Went here for lunch on a Saturday. Decided to opt-in for the Anytime Eats. There was a large queue outside for the full BBQ but we just walked straight in and up to the bar to order our Anytime Eats. Burger and Chili Frito pie. Waiting about 20 minutes for the food to be ready and it was amazing. Best burger I've had and the chili in the Frito Pie was just Devine. 10/10 all round. Had a quick chat with one of the owners about the sauce on the Burger and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Will be back.

Food trailer located at the Cosmic Coffee location in central location. Guys are friendly and willing to adjust for allergies when possible. Great outdoor location with easy parking, shady and sunny spots and garden areas.

Exceptional service and exceptional food. The sandwich was amazing. I cannot wait to go back and try more of the menu. I highly recommend others go experience Leroy and Lewis.

I thought this place was much better than the famous spots. Refined but still delicious bbq. I got the ribeye which was near perfect. Tasted like a perfect prime rib. They give you both a traditional bbq and a mustard base sauce cup on the side. Both delicious. Kale cesaer was a great alternative to normal slaw. Frito pie a unique side option. Located inside of cosmic’s food park. Plus you don’t have to wait the ridiculous lines at the famous spots

The new bbq era has arrived and Leroy and Lewis are in first place! The brisket burger is yummy and the sides are great (chorizo papas and beans omg). The beef fat fries are amazing. And the show stopper is the brisket. The cutter is checking the cut and making sure you get the perfect slice.

This a very friendly and fun atmosphere place. The best part were the unique flavors offered alongside the BBQ choices. Everything was fresh, absolutely delicious, even if you eat too much you won't feel bogged down by heavy ingredients. The meat was very flavorful. The staff was very helpful, accommodating and friendly. Kale caesar slaw was excellent.

Great little place with good service and great food but come early since they run out of certain BBQ items like any BBQ place does. They have a list of available items on a board by the counter but list was kind of short at 7:30pm on a Thursday (as expected) when we got there. Despite the short list we had two meat plates and the chopped brisket was delicious and we tried the tri-tip steak which was good (slight up charge $1). You order alcohol drinks separately at the bar. Service was excellent, quick and everyone was very helpful including one of owners. Definitely a good place for BBQ but go early for best selection. Can’t wait to go back again to try some other meats.

Hands down - best BBQ in Austin. I go there pretty frequently. During the week, its some tourists, some regulars, just looking for quality BBQ. Expect little to no wait! Over the weekend, there's specials, brisket, bacon ribs, and a good wait if you aren't there 30-45 minutes before they open. Beef Cheek > Brisket

Well, covid-19 rules meant that Franklin's had a minimum order of 3 pounds. Which is like 90$ plus tax. And I cannot eat so much! So ... the locals convinced me to go to L & L. It was awful! They got my order wrong. Even so, only the beef cheeks and kimchi were edible. The burnt-tip cauliflower and the mac-n-cheese were inedible and borderline, respectively. I was blown away by how such a highly-recommended place could be so awful. I mean the cauliflower was AWFUL!

My wife and I had an early (4:30 PM) dinner here and we had high expectations, given the fact that this place had been awarded a Michelin star. We've just moved back to Texas after ten years in France and have come to place a lot of value on Michelin stars. We both had two meats and two sides with her having had sausage and brisket while I had brisket and pulled hog, as they call it. We both had potatoes (I can't recall the specific name), I had rice and she had kim chi as our second sides. The potatoes were great! No questions asked!! Everything else was fair to good, which for a Michelin starred place was very disappointing. There are too many excellent BBQ options in Austin for us to return.

Congrats to L&L on pre-launch of gorgeous new brick and mortar! Expands on the offerings of the beloved trailer at Cosmic, and makes beverages readily available. Evan, Sawyer and expanding crew always friendly and open to questions. Went solo and asked to join table. Great food…good brew options…good conversation…and a patio tv for us sports fans. Best of luck…and thanks!

We visited at 6:15 PM on a Sunday and they were pretty much sold out of ever thing but chicken, barbacoa, and Frito pie. My wife and her friends had chicken and her friends added barbacoa. They enjoyed their food and would visit again. I had the Frito pie and it was at best, okay. I would visit again but not for the Frito pie.

They have pretty good pulled pork with kale slaw as a side which i liked it. You are going to love beef cheeks, trust me.

Overall the food was superb. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable, especially since they were very aware of gluten allergy and cross contamination! The young gentleman slicing changed his knife, cutting board, and gloves immediately upon knowing there was a gluten allergy. The brisket and smoked beef cheeks were amazing. All the sides were great also! And wait time in line was very short. Can’t wait to go back!

So just when you thought you’ve had the best Austin and central Texas Pitmasters have to offer, you find LeRoy and Lewis. Simply some of the best bbq I’ve ever had, and I’ve sampled the best from Texas, though Tennessee, and back to Kansas City. Tender babacoa was moist and flavorful, with a little char and just the right amount of salt and pepper seasoning. Their ”peaceful pork” sauage is a must try, bursting with flavor and great texture. Pickled kimchi on the side you ask? Well yes, more please! Great atmosphere as well in the shady live-oak courtyard. Only regret was from my own rookie mistake, not getting to this hidden spot off of Congress Ave before they sold out of their signature beef cheeks. Next time my friends, next time. Don’t miss these guys when looking for Franklin’s peers, you’d be glad you stopped in.

Phenomenal barbecue! We both had the tri tip and it was outstanding. Really great ambiance here. Must try in Austin! Be aware the parking lot is small so you may have to park on one of the adjacent streets. The building is new and has a lot of seating on both sides of the restaurant. Don’t miss this place. Staff were super friendly and the food was phenomenal!
Smoky, Savory, Unforgettable!
If you’re a barbecue lover, this spot is a must-visit—especially for its legendary brisket. It’s the only barbecue restaurant with a Michelin star, and after tasting the food, it’s easy to see why. The brisket was tender, smoky, and full of flavor—the best I’ve ever had. The burger was decent, but the real standout was the Texas red chili Frito pie, which was absolutely incredible. Be prepared for a long wait, as the line often stretches around the building and can take over an hour. However, we got lucky by visiting on a chilly weekday and were seated much faster. The restaurant operates on a self-service system, but the staff is friendly, and the service is impressively quick despite the crowds. Parking is limited, so arriving right when they open at 11 a.m. is your best bet to avoid both the rush and parking hassles. While the wait can be long, the food is absolutely worth it. If you’re in town, don’t miss the chance to experience this top-tier barbecue!
