Came Back for Dinner....Wow!

By Family_In_Ardmore |

I had a great experience for breakfast several months ago, so when my wife and I were in the area and looking to have dinner, we decided to give it a try. We were very pleased. The food was wonderful and the portions were ample. The staff was very helpful and tried very hard to make the experience a good one. My wife said that her Manhattan Clam Chowder was the best she ever had. We look forward to the next time we dine here.

Good home cooked meal - treated as family

This is perfect for a visitor to Philly. - 15 minute taxi ride for tourists to get a real Philly welcome! Owner greets each table.....They feature wholesome American food along with Italian, Greek and such a variety that you can ask waitress for suggestion(s).

Oh My Goodness!!!

My husband and I were actually going to a different diner today but they were too crowded. Instead we drove by here and decided to eat here instead. So glad we did. The food here was much better than the other diner we were originally going to eat at. We had breakfast for we were going into downtown Philadelphia. I ordered the French toast with pork roll. I was given these three huge pieces of French toast that were absolutely delicious. No way could I eat all of this so I now have a yummy breakfast tomorrow. Our waitress was attentive and friendly. Definitely will return here when I am in the neighborhood.

Always the Best

Consistent quality food coupled with great service and a friendly atmosphere make this a fantastic spot to grab a bite any time of the day. Have been eating here for 10 years and have never had a problem.

Okay for a diner

By genoteich |

I had the philly cheese steak and fries. Food was okay and it was definitely low cost but the place was super busy so service was slow. At least 5 servers walked past and ignored the fact that they could clearly see I was ready to order and had not been helped. Finally the manager took my order.

Our Favorite Diner!

By Gary C |

My fiance' and I have been to Liberty Bell on more than a few occasions. The food is always super delicious! We've been here for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and have never been disappointed. A couple of days ago we were there and I ordered the Yankee Pot roast with mashed potatoes and sauteed string beans. It was fantastic! Melt in your mouth tender! I will definitely be ordering it again! Our waitress Danielle, or Danni was delightful. She was funny with off-the-cuff humor that had me smiling the whole time I was there. She gives excellent service so make sure you tip her well! I'm always checking out different diners. Liberty bell diner is absolutely one of my favorite! 5 Stars!

Little Diner

By kahorn |

I had my 2 grand children grade school graduation dinner there, 13 of us. They have something for everyone. They were very gracious and friendly also kid friendly(we had 5 kids from ages-7 up to 12). They wanted to make sure we had what we needed and was very kind, when one kid got something she didn't want after seeing it,they exchanged it for us. First time being there for me and I would go back for sure, I had the chef salad and I couldn't finish it. If you like mozzarella sticks, theirs are big and their chicken fingers are like getting a chicken cutlet.

Back again....still fantastic

It wasn't that long ago that we were here. We were in the area and decided to go again. My blackened tuna was a very generous size and quite delicious. My wife's pork medalions were very tasty and my daughter enjoyed her Cobb Salad. As in the past, the staff was very mindful of my gluten allergy. We will keep coming back.

I have eaten here a lot and all the food is very good and the staff is like family.

The food is generous and tasteful enough for the next day the soups are hot and flavorable the food is seasoned just right. And the servers and busboys and owner and the host are always there to attend to your needs.

Good food fair prices

It was good Greek style diner food for me when I visited with the bf. It was a big portion so I took half home and at it later. Dessert looked good but no room left to try.

Best Little Diner in NE Philadelphis

We were one of the first customers when it opened and have been regulars since. Great food and portion sizes won't leave you hungry. Management and staff are very friendly and attentive to your needs. When you visit the NE please stop in and enjoy!

Nice neighborhood diner. Food is aways good. Staff and owner very friendly. Deffenitly recommend to my family and friends.

No candlelight here

By rphiladelphia |

No candlelight here.Just some of the best food you ever tasted no matter what you order. My favorites are the chicken parm and the fried seafood combo. The service is swift and pleasant. The owners are also right there at your beck and call. Don't be afraid to ask for a doggie bag here as the food is so plentiful you will need one..Usually I bring my desert home to enjoy. Check out their menu at libertybellrestaurant.com and they also have daily specials.

Great Brunch Spot

By cherylpd1 |

In the area for a doctor's appointment, my cousin who lives nearby suggested we stop here for brunch. It's a cute little place, and we were seated promptly. Lots of choices, food was delicious, and service was great. The only person who didn't seem to be happy to be there was the hostess.

Nice menu; Great waitress; Not so nice owner.

By Songbird865 |

We were going to eat at a diner down the road but it was closed so decided to try this establishment. The meal startled out well with a friendly and patient waitress and great soup (cream of turkey) and salad. However, problems started with the main entree. First it took forever for it to be served ( almost an hour). My dish contained items I was allergic to which we know the waitress made clear to the kitchen. They took it back but when the manager came by instead of an apology he complained about how much the dish cost him. I had a Monte Christo sandwich instead to save time. My brother's salmon was dry and crispy. The manager kept insisting it was fine but finally had it replaced with salmon that was cooked like it should be. We will not be back.

Great breakfast and very friendly people

Nice neighborhood diner. The owners really care. Good prices, plenty of food and a huge menu. They offer loyalty discount. Great eggs benedict.

good service/ will not return

By kmbtodd |

I took my family here for an early Fathers day dinner. The service was good, but they made a critical error in judgement. My son and I ordered the cream of turkey soup. When we got it, it tasted fishy. Turns out they ran out of cream of Turkey soup and substituted cream of crab but did not tell us.That is a poor judgement on their part. You can not decide not to tell someone when they may have a seafood allergy. This greatly concerned me. You did get a good portion of food but it was not great. There are so many other great diners in the area to choose from. They do not honor coupons on Fathers day either.I will not return.

Dont be fooled by the exterior

Great french toast breakfast. The shopping center, etc. Looks well...just ignore that. You will be happy you came here. They have interesting combinations. I once had crab and english muffin. So good. Great service.

Great service & food came quickly. Food was just fair. Kid's meal flounder pedal lots of breading but little fish.

We go here a lot, the food, atmosphere and service are awesome!

By 224ajr |

Their early bird specials are fantastic, you get more food than you can eat, its enough for 3 people, so you end up bringing a lot home. You get everything from soup AND salad, to dessert, plus plenty of rolls before hand! Atmosphere is great too, as is the selection of food. I also feel very safe here because the police like to eat here, I always see them present when we go.

Late night stop off great choice

By BA001 |

We do just come off a 8 hour flight from London and was driving to Princeton. We stopped off here and had a great experience. The service was polite and friendly. The waitress was very patient whilst we chose and the food was made quickly although not rushed. Tasty and plenty is how I would describe the food and the diner is comfy and homely. I would definitely recommend and return if I get the chance. I want to try their breakfast !

Come hungry

Stopped by after services across the street with the family. The diner was packed but we were seated relatively quickly. Service was prompt, friendly, and efficient. Omelettes were huge and tasty. Would recommend if in the area.

Good prices for large plates of quality food

By Chris_Jeblons |

Started having breakfast here after my training runs, since the Dining Car has dropped in value. Well worth your money and time. Food portions are generous, while their pricing is one the same level as comparable diners in the area. Nice friendly staff, they have my business for as long as they want it.

Management was really nasty

By Joe G |

We usually visit this restaurant three or more times a month. The breakfast is good everything else is ok. we stopped in for lunch. My wife ordered a happy waitress which is basically an upscale grilled cheese. When it arrived it wasn't even cooked. She returned it and made a comment to the owner and he really got nasty. Very uncalled for. We wont go back. There are tons of diners in northeast philadelphia.

One of NE Philly's finest diners to eat! Make sure you are hungry!

By JMC |

I'm in this Diner at least once a week. Chef specials you get Soup, Salad, main course, AND desert! Most places give you Soup OR salad and desert is always extra. At Liberty Bell you get it all complete! Key word with this diner is consistent! The food is always good. I've never had a bad meal. Love the soup selections. They give you that NE Philly family feel. They truly care and listen to the customers.

Have been here twice and both times dinner was delish...soup is consistently good...the "Greek" dressing is the best and you can take some home...service is attentive and the owners are there to welcome you and oversee the food and service...huge portions...more than enough for next day...entrees very creative

Great value for a clean diner

By wendinewjersey |

Livery bell is a nice place that offers good food, with great portions at great prices. It is a diner, though. So keep that in mind.

Come Hungry

By Thomas S |

Ordered off the Early Bird Menu (good until 6 p.m.) Portion size is huge so you better come hungry. Most meals include soup AND salad, main course, two sides, bread and desert. Food was excellent, staff super friendly (and sassy) and we felt like family the entire time of our visit. Don't be surprised if Halil Ceylan, the owner, stops by your table to check on how you are enjoying the food. He is constantly moving about the dining room. Make one visit and you will return again and again.

Great family spot

By Angel R |

Awesome food. We go there at least 1x a week. I have yet been disappointed with any of my choices from the menu. Their turkey soup is to die for. The staff if really friendly. The prices are well worth the food.

New breakfast spot

Good service , very good Spanish omelet , with your choice of shredded potatoes, or cut potatoes. Nice to be given a choice. Son had a bacon egg and cheese sandwich with home fries.

Great family diner

By Mike K |

The people that run this diner are very friendly and attentive to the customers. We eat here at least 4 times a month or more. My wife and daughter love their beef stew which is there special every Sunday. The give you tons of food, most dinners come with our, salad, bread, meal and desert. The prices are very reasonable and the food excellent. If your hungry and want a great meal stop at Liberty Diner.

Nice and Friendly

By Family_In_Ardmore |

Had breakfast by myself this morning. My brother likes this place, so I decided to check it out. I was not disappointed. Ample, delicious portions and a friendly waitress. They were also sensitive to my gluten allergy and replaced the toast with tomato slices....a very nice touch. Next time, I'm bringing my family!

Love going here when in Philly!
