This lovely place offers a pretty interior, but only average food and small servings for the price. The Philly cheesesteak ($11) was bland and small and the below average quality fish and chips ($13) were oily and with a tasteless and chewy batter. Everyone agreed their other dishes were just average and not worth the higher prices, so not recommended for their food.

Stopped in with friends for beers and fried chicken sandwiches. We had a great time! Service was a bit slow.

Visited with freinds for lunch on a Monday. Approximately one-half of the building is the bar, the other half is the dining area. One of our guests had eaten here many times in the past and always had the chilli burger, but chose tater tots over fries as she found them greasy the last time she was in. We were waited on by the new owner (since December 2012), a genial person, but not cut out to be a waiter. The entire facility is decorated in rough plank lumber for a rustic look much like being inside a sawmill. It is a bit cavernous and has little pockets of rooms off the various aisles one including a bank vault, a post office window with barred window and old fashion post office mail boxes. The theme is a combination of things including sea faring memorabilia, sawed lumber and over all very dark inside. We ordered two chilli burgers, one with fries (to see if they had improved) and one with tater tots, plus a cheese and bacon omlette that came with hash browns and toast. For drinks we ordered two coffees and one beer. The dining area was empty, except for us. We found out that the former waiter was now the cook. The coffee and beer were served and a short while later the food was delivered by the cook. He had no table presence at all, just dropped the food and left. The owner / waiter came by in a few minutes and we asked for catsup and jelly for the toast and a refill on the coffee. The fries were greasy and a dark brown color - either old oil or too hot. The tater tots were ok and a light tan color. The chilli burgers were so-so, nothing remarkable. The omlette was quite small, melted cheese over the top and some cheese and bacon inside, but it looked as though it had been pressed flat on the plate. There was no fluffy omlette here! The hash browns had potatoe skins mixed in and were also a dark brown and somewhat musty tasting. We had to ask for another refill on coffee and it was served out of a pot that had about 2 inches of coffee in the pot which was lukewarm. The bill without tip was north of $30. The owner needs to find a decent cook and revist the food prep / cooking methods of his kitchen

Found this spot and stopped in. Not fancy but good service, reasonable prices. Fish and chips, fried chicken were very good!

Stopped there on a Sunday night about 7:30. We’ve driven pass this place almost every day for years and never payed much attention to it. What a gem! My salad was fresh, and the dressing did not overpower the flavors. My husband ordered the steak and mashed potatoes and he raved about it every bite! Our waitress was attentive and the place was warm and cozy. A great little find, that may become our favorite date night stop.

Pleasantly surprised at how good their food is, and it's very inexpensive. Burger was under $10 & Micro brews were $4.50 and that's outside of happy hour - way cheaper than in other areas of Portland. Staff is always very friendly. Just know going in that you need to be patient as they usually only have 1 server doing the dining side of the bar so it can be a bit slow. But kick back and drink your crazy reasonably priced beer and just enjoy yourself. Linnton is a little out of the way, but the Lighthouse is well worth the drive.

We stop by this place once a month or so for lunch. They have excellent hamburgers, Ruben sandwiches and tuna melts, and the fries are made fresh and are very tasty. It's a little dark inside, but a little lamp at our favorite table makes it cozy.

If you enjoy dinning in a place that has lots of interesting things to look at and explore, you enjoy having super friendly people greet you as you walk in the door and then make you feel at home even on your first time in. Well the Lighthouse is the perfect place for that. When you add in the food, for me the burgers are like no other place I have enjoyed hamburgers before. The first thing that will catch your eye is the size of it! But that is only the beginning, when you bite into it you will experience what hamburgers should be, high quality flavorful beef with everything else you may want to add it only adding to the taste. On our first experience at the Lighthouse we met Sarah and she is part of what made our experience so enjoyable, but all the staff at the Lighthouse are very friendly. Stop by the Lighthouse and enjoy the experience.

Hyper abusive staff. I'm 40 years old, eaten all over the world, and it's worst restaurant/bar experience I've ever had by far. After taking photos of birds on Sauvie Island all day, I stopped by Lighthouse for a beer and some food and reviewed by photos on my small 3 inch camera screen (which I'd done a million times before). I was literally looking at photos of birds. Then the staff, a group of women with all their cell cameras out taking video, accused me of taking pictures inside the location, which is psychotic. They were yelling and boarder-line screaming. Straight up verbal assault. They literally chased me outside the building screaming and yelling as I left. Left my credit card inside. Never got it back. Said they called the cops. It was shocking, abusive and hyper abnormal. I've been in the Portland area since 1991. Do not go to this restaurant if you have any respect for humans. Note: Years earlier after I stopped by after taking photos at Sauvie Island, cops came inside and arrested the bar tender right in front of me. Place is shady as they come.

I think there only 2 or 3 restaurants in Linnton. This one is OK. If you like dive bars with local atmosphere, then you will like this place. The food is decent. The beer selection is typical Portland (IPA, IPA, beer that tastes like IPA, Coors lite). The bathroom did not look or smell clean. The smoking lounge is right outside the entrance. When the door was open, the smoke poured in. They might as well just came inside and smoked. I have eaten here twice (just to be fair) and will probably eat at the other restaurant next door when I have the choice.

Skip the Decoy next door. We had the smoked pork soft tacos and fish soft tacos. Three generously filled flour tacos came with a side of really fresh house salsa. The fish was battered and fried. The smoked pork was from carlton farms.

Fish & chips was nothing to write home about. Dark, below-deck atmosphere. More of a sport's bar feel. Nice ship's doors, portholes, etc. Waiting crew seemed nice enough.

I've been here twice at lunch with a friend. Had their Reuben one time and their Firehouse burger the second. Both were top notch. Am anxious to go back and try more menu items. We ate in the dining room, which is fairly small. Most of the restaurant is the bar area. There is also outside seating when the weather is good, but the view is strictly industrial. Service was just fine. No problems at all.

The place is under new management. The staff is nice. The food is delicious and will fill you up! The locals are very gracious in this nautical theme'd restaurant. What starts out as normal bar food turns out to be many interesting dishes. Try the Tachos! Nachos + Tater Tots = Tachos! The Lighthouse burger is huge and very tasty. Breakfast is served in the mornings and they are open usually until 11pm.

Didn’t even make it inside. Great place to sit outside on one of those warm summer Portland evenings.

This restaurant has to have some of the best food on Highway 30. I have eaten there several times in the past month and the food is excellent. Have not had an "average" selection. The chef has got it down.

This place used to be my fav to eat a burger or other pub food and drink a brew. The drinks are still good but the food has lost its quality. The best sandwich they had was the Philly Cheesesteak which was huge. It is now more bread than anything else. I will still stop in for a drink but think I will eat elsewhere.

I'd heard good things about the food/seasonal menu and the funky decor. It was delicious! We had burgers and fish tacos, along with shishito peppers for a starter. Those were awesome - fire-roasted and drizzled with truffle oil. Out of this world! The inside is all wood - walls, tables, decor and a sea-theme. Cute! We ate outside; beautiful day that actually got pretty warm without the umbrellas up yet. Service was OK; friendly but a little slow/inattentive. I'd go back though - really good food.

We ate here on a Friday night and the place was already pretty busy but they were able to cram 8 of us in. After rearranging the tables a little, we all settled in for a wonderful meal. None of us tried the “Portland restaurant month” deal for $33 because frankly, the rest of the menu was too good to pass up. Among the things ordered were Brussels sprouts (fabulous), clam chowder (pretty good), calamari (excellent), ahi tuna (big hit), chipotle pork (my favorite), rib eye steak (to die for), fish and chips (very good), fish tacos (yummy). All in all, everybody left happy and stuffed. The waitress worked miracles to make sure we were all taken care of even though we split the check four ways. Highly recommend.

This was my second time to visit the Lighthouse and it was every bit as good as the first time. Staff were helpful and friendly and the food left nothing to be desired. I was served a very generous portion of cod and chips while my husband enjoyed a tuna salad with chips. We didn't have our own transport on this occasion but there is a bus stop outside the door where we were able to get a bus to Downtown Portland.

I’m skeptical of side-of-the-road type roadhouse come-one, come-all restaurants, always. The Lighthouse Inn has all of the accessibility, and easy Columbia River comfort, but with a noticeably professional, and delicious execution. Nothing at the Lighthouse Inn is accidental. The flavors range from Southern American diner, to Mexican, to fresh Asian poke/ ahi. The flavor themes far exceed expectations. The cocktails and beer selection are great. I even met some friendly people, who I hope to see again soon.

My friend raved about the new ownership and menu, so we stopped in and the place has been cleaned and polished, the menu updated and contemporary. and I must say, everything was great...We had the steamer clams, onion rings, and ceviche tostada, and Fish Tacos..Wonderful, Tasty, Yummy..The Burger was Large and Juicy and Delicious..Wow...Even My Bloody Mary was Very Pleasantly Good...Thanks for the great food and Service..

I had just gotten done with a hike on the nearby Sauvie Island. I thought I’d try this place out on the way back to Portland. I walked in the front and waited, but was ignored by the waitresses. I figured maybe it was self seating, so I sat down and waited. During that time a couple sat near me, was served and got their drinks. I was completely ignored despite making eye contact with the waitresses a few times. I left after 20 minutes. Too bad, the food looked good.

We spent the evening playing table shuffleboard and enjoying drinks in this wonderful tavern where tons of old parts of boats have been collected and saved from destruction. Great atmosphere and extremely nice staff and customers, we'll surely be back soon. A place with a "soul", unique and welcoming. They also have nice sweaters with their logo and their prices are very reasonable.

The Lighthouse Inn in Linnton must rank as one of the favorites of the true restaurant-goer. While it is perhaps not for those seeking status or flocking to the latest "in" place to hang out, the Lighthouse Inn offers character, history, and good food that will appeal to those rare folks who can think for themselves and are not merely seeking status-by-association. Please, if you can't appreciate what the Lighthouse Inn has to offer, go someplace else. But if you're self-possessed enough to think for yourself and not be swayed by trends, you'll enjoy the Lighthouse Inn. It's a real restaurant for real people, meaning that it will appeal to only a select few.

Ok, we're at a crossroads: If we tell you how good this place is, you all might head to the Lighthouse Inn and there will be no room for us. On the other hand, if we don't tell you how good it is, no one may find it as it's off the beaten path. Good wins out - we're going to tell you. The Lighthouse Inn is a delightful surprise and we just might become regulars. For one thing, it's nice to be recognized by Tasha, the same server we've had every time. She's so sweet and the good just starts there. This place has a small town feel where we've been greeted by the owner, the cook and the bartender as well as our server. They make us feel at home; just like guests should feel. The menu has a good variety to offer and surprisingly affordable prices. So now we have goodness and justice! The food is clearly prepared by someone who is accomplished and maybe selected this hide-a-way restaurant to live an alternative lifestyle outside of the Portland crowds. You can simply cross the St John's Bridge and be transported to another time and place. It is relaxing, welcoming and delicious. My only complaint is that the seating is not so comfortable but I'm very particular about that and they were very nice when I actually moved from one table to another looking for a better seat. You can also eat outside on the deck, pick-nick table style like in most pubs around Portland. I'm a person who loves fine decor so that's the only thing holding me back from giving this place five stars. If you don't care about furnishings you'll consider this place 5-starts and an excellent find! Enough talk - here come the photos which will speak for themselves. Thank you Lighthouse Inn - your food and service are appreciated and we will return!

Perfectly happy with the service at Lighthouse Inn. The food was average tasting. Party of four had fish and chips, fish tacos, nachos, and fish burger. I had the fish and chips and the fish was a little soggy with pretty average taste. I tried a good bit of the nachos and it was better. Sat outside and it was pleasant on a warm evening. Lots of traffic on Hwy 30 but did not really bother us.
Good meal, and on Dining month
This is an old haunt of mine, used to go here for lunch quite a bit. Wanted to revisit and figured this was a good time to go. Glad we went. The place pretty much looks the same. Could use a bit of sprucing -- but the food is good. Started with chowder, very nice, herbs and a thinner broth. Tons of clams. Then the chopped salad with cherries and nuts. Good dressing. Steak was well cooked and seasoned.Served with twice fried fries, and collard greens. Both sides were good. Ahi was well seasoned but was overcooked. it should have been pink--served with broccoli fried rice and ginger. Again tasty. Just wish it had been less done. Dessert was pot de creme and a cheesecake with caramel and sea salt. Nice textures and good flavor on both. Staff was very nice, she was a busy girl and did a good job of getting our food out and making the drinks. Comfortable place, not fancy, but tasty food as I remember.
