Linda's looks like a typical bar but outback there is a little patio that's great for a weekend brunch. Menu is limited but food is good. Pls. note that breakfast is only served on weekends. During the week this is a bar. Prices are ok.

We went to this bar around 10 pm on a Saturday - it was packed. The drinks are cheap, around $5 for a mixed drink, and there is a huge outdoor area in the back with tons of benches and even a separate, gated area, for smokers. They also have a separate bar in the back in case the main one is busy. There is also a huge area inside if you prefer to sit inside, and has many pool tables as well. It has a great vibe and I'd recommend for people aged 20s-30s, although we saw a few older couples there as well.

I've been to Linda's plenty of times for Drinks with friends, and ordered some small plates to snack on like Tots or Fries, but recently I went for Brunch for the first time. Linda's has a different feel during the day, maybe its the lighting, or the intent in going there while it's still light outside, but what it doesn't lose is that intimate feeling that it has. Upon arrival we were informed it would be a couple minute wait, and that's all it was, they had a booth for us ready within just a few minutes. The service over all was mostly good, the servers/hostess were nice, accommodating, and more than willing to help. However towards the end of our meal there was long stretches where we were not checked on, so it took a bit longer than anticipated to get the quick. Overall though the service reliable, and welcoming. The food itself was above average, very typical American Breakfast, I went with the Chicken Fried Steak, in itself was very average. Overall it was a bit soggy, the breading came right off, and the gravy was decent. The hash browns, and eggs were cooked fantastically, and my partner enjoyed her dish. The food was relatively cheap for Seattle, and the portions are just right. I'd come back to Linda's day or night.

My wife and I popped in here during our recent time in Seattle...wanted to see the place where Kurt Cobain was supposedly last seen alive--had to pay homage in our way. And the upside is that Linda's is a great bar...lots of cozy seating...lots of chill and helpful staff...lots of good pub grub...and lots of good stuff to sip. There are animal heads on the walls--the best being a bison head behind the bar. Also a good jukebox with lots of toe-tapping tunes playing while we enjoy the passage of time. Two thumbs up from us...check it out--you will like.

We'd read good things and headed to this place for dinner. Two yards in the door we were stopped in our tracks by a youth who evidently works there, and asked for ID. 21 was a long time ago for both of us, but we produced UK driving licenses nonetheless, to be told that state law mandated only passports would suffice for foreigners. If Perry Mason here was right to say so, I apologise unreservedly, but call me cynical, I have my doubts. I don't recall being asked for ID anywhere else in our entire time in Seattle, so even if his interpretation of the law is correct, his application of it leaves much to be desired. The message was clear - only people considerably cooler than us get to eat here. Fortunately as a result of this incident, we happened across the Honeyhole - a nearby divey sort of bar (sound familiar?) that does outrageously good food, great beer, and great service. If the management of Linda's want to improve matters, they could do a lot worse than spending a few bucks on a staff outing there to let them see how it's done. Oh, and for the record, if James Coburn ever had a pet polar bear, we'd be nearly as cool as that.

Good (not-that) divey bar with a friendly crowd and affordable drinks. Nice patio and a smoking area at the back. Didn't try any food so can't comment on that. Make sure to bring a passport if you have a foreign driver's license.

It's a bar...not right for younger kids...I got the house burger and it was the best burger that I had all year. I don't eat many burgers, but this was good. Pretty cool place, pretty funky. The bar tender seemed to be a bit bothered to see some people that are not trust fund hipsters. That's the general vibe in this area, so it that's a big deal, stay down town. Cool place, good music, good food, lots of beer on tap.

I loved Linda's Tavern. I met interesting people. Please, please, please do not tell my folks back in Texas.

A friend of ours that lives in Seattle suggested this place while he was showing us around his neighborhood. It was pretty busy, they had an old jukebox (my favorite) and it was a regular spot for Kurt Cobain (RIP). I ate a burger and fries and it was actually one of the best I've had. We had a few beers, played some songs on the jukebox, and went on about our merry way. Such a fun place.

Eating alone is always a challenge but especially with a hangover and wanting brunch around 1:00 pm. Luckily, Linda's Tavern has one of the best brunches I have had and I have eaten here twice, both on Saturday and Sunday. The place is always packed which is why I was directed to a small table in front of the door. Turning that one down I got the second worst table - the one in front of the kitchen. Try to get a booth if you can. On my second visit, I was there at a peak time and everyone cleared out while I was there which is probably why my food was so late. I give the waitress points for giving me a discount for waiting so long but the food was really worth the wait regardless. The scene is really singles with their friends and it caters to a young crowd who likes the loud music so be warned. I noticed everyone was in a T-shirt so business folk may want to go casual. It is very laid back. No one told me about the outdoor seating I discovered out back on my way to the restroom so aim for that if you can.

This was on my list of places to check out in Seattle based on a tip this was the last place Kurt Cobain was seen alive and based on my love of local dive bars. I wasn't disappointed! We went on a beautiful Saturday night and enjoyed the patio and meeting some awesome Seattle locals. The burger was delicious for a bar burger as well. A definite stop for some local flair and patrons.

Their Breakfast is amazing. I crave it. It is a must stop for a weekend in Seattle and close to alot of other stuff downtown. They have a great outdoor eating area too so great for a nice sunny afternoon in the summer.

Excellent food and a casual atmosphere. We went in the early evening on a weekday, so it wasn't too busy. I'm sure it gets pretty packed on weekends or later at night though, so if you're not big on crowds, keep that in mind. Cool decorations for Halloween and great staff.

Food arrived cold after an hour wait. Stay away. Server unresponsive and left order on service counter a minute of ten minutes.

Laid back dive bar on Capitol Hill, Seattle. I liked its laid back grunge feel to it. Nice staff, good selection of drinks and a good size seating area out the back. Also, it has a Nirvana feel to it. As kurt Cobain used to frequently visit this place. And it was the last place he was seen alive (apparently).

We loved Linda’s Tavern.... in fact we went twice because we loved it so much. The beer was great, the staff were friendly and the juke box was pretty good. Coupled with that, they’ve got some arcade games which kept me entertained for a while. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Capitol Hill.

Went here to eat on a tip that this was the last place Kurt Cobain was seen alive. Huge Nirvana and alt music fans so this was a must do while in Seattle. It's got a classic outdoorsy type feel inside with log walls and lots of wood finish. The food and drinks are pretty standard cafe fare and remind me of dozens of small town cafes I've been to. Service was quick and our orders came promptly; food was good. The music on the juke box is excellent and really sets the mood here; really solid mix of alt, punk, post-punk, rock, outlaw country, etc. Very glad we came here and enjoyed checking out a little part of Seattle's alt music history scene.

Just kidding. I sat on a busted bar stool, drank tasteless Rainier lager out of the can (with a straw), and got into an argument with my husband. On the positive side, it was dry and relatively warm inside.

While walking down town from Capitol hill we came across Linda’s Tavern, with its Cowboy-themed and ranch like décor complete with a Buffalo head above the bar. It’s a real fabulous neighborhood bar serving the cheapest drinks in town since 1994. Lots of colourful regulars and a cool collection of bartenders. They have an old jukebox (my favorite) with a great selection of tunes. Apparently in the day it was a regular spot for Kurt Cobain (RIP) to visit. This must also be one of the last places in Seattle that still gives free books of matches. There is even a collection of game machines for the unsociable types, on the upper level at Linda’s Tavern. Our adult beverages of choice were a seven and Seven, a very nice dark Ale and a couple of bourbon’s as chasers. TIP: Always read the signs. “Hippies use side door “.

I love Linda's! It is one of my favorite bars. Big 4+ pour glass pitchers can be dangerously fun. Best bar I've ever been kicked out of!

Lindas is one of my fav bars on the hill that hasn't been overrun by a lame crowd. Go here for weeknight drinks with friends to avoid a crowd. Nice bartenders, pool, jukebox, and a sweet backyard. Food too!

This bar has a good breakfast. I had eggs with chorizo which I really enjoyed, plus a very nice mimosa. They make a great bloody mary, with buffalo jerky if requested. I really liked the atmosphere, which is kind of dive bar-ish but with great service and fantastic music. We got there before it opened and had to wait in line to get in--get there early, it is very popular for a reason.

My boyfriend and I stopped into Linda's while exploring Capitol Hill on a weekend trip to Seattle. We sat at the bar and ordered some food from the happy hour menu. I had the quesadilla and it was delicious and HUGE, really great value. The bar itself was fun - casual and laid back. There was a beer garden/patio outside too. Definitely not a family-friendly place (no under 21s) or a restaurant as such, but great choice for a laid back evening.

I liked the laid back feel of this place. The staff waas nice and the drinks were good. I am looking forward to returning during warmer weather so I can take advantage of the seating out back.

Great food at incredible prices!! Friendly staff; loud and fun atmosphere. I will definitely go back next time in Seattle. Manager Mike is really cool....

We originally wanted to eat here as part of our Kurt Cobain tour around Seattle because it was the last place he was seen alive. It turned out that this was a great place for breakfast as well. The Cowboy Taco was excellent. There was a atmosphere that was very authentic feeling. We almost didn't feel cool enough to eat there. If you are in the Capitol Hill area this is a must do!

We went here for breakfast, which this totally doesn't seem like a place to do that but it is and it's amazing. Hands down legitimately The.BEST. Hollandaise sauce I've ever had in my 31 years of existence. If we didn't have reservations the following day for breakfast, I so would've came back here and had the exact same thing.

Unpretentious. You can get chicken tenders WITH a side and not called “chiefs karaagaas” and charged $14 for a tiny portion. Solid pours, good service.

This place is so special! I spend 3 nights in Seattle, and 2 of them I had dinner here. I like it so much! Must go1

I first knew Linda's strictly as a bar but I'm going to share my thoughts on their weekend breakfast. Crafted together with a Tex-Mex flair, you have plenty of options between omelettes, benedicts and the like. I personally love the country fried steak myself but also a fan of most everything on the menu. The only improvement I'd make would be to switch out their coffee. Not that it needs to be high-end, but coffee that sits in a glass carafe on a burner never tastes good.

Pretty ridiculous that the bouncers don’t accept legal international forms of ID. If you’re visiting seattle, take yourself elsewhere for a drink!

The service was extraordinarily slow, we were at a table and literally were never served. We were told at the bar we couldn't order food there wither, and it wasn't busy enough to justify the low level of service. The guy at the door was also extremely rude checking IDs. Everyone had an attitude, and the atmosphere was really loud and obnoxious. Good margarita though.

I never win at pool unless I'm at Lindas. They have good drinks, good food, a huge outdoor area, and somewhat friendly staff. And enough bathrooms too. It's a reliable place to go for a chill time with friends.

They will inflate your tab with other people's drinks, and then get upset when you call them out. DONT GO HERE

a sweet spot. has a pool table, an out door seating area, even has a designated smoking area. as well. during the cold weather they have hear lamps set up. there's a bar on the outside as well as thing inside, lots of seating. this place is a hang out spot for locals and can get pretty packed sometimes. their brunch menu on the weekend is legit. great vegetarian options and great food. the atmosphere in Linda's is always awesome.

This bar has a great funky atmosphere. There's a nice big outdoor patio bar. Pitchers are giant and made out of glass. Good place to people watch and hang out.

If you want the authentic Seattle experience, Linda's is actually the perfect destination, as it is staffed entirely by hipsters who are much too cool to provide even the most basic level of customer service. The waitstaff appear surprised when you invariably have to flag them down to request additional items, even when you've been sitting with empty drinks for over 15 minutes. The service at the bar is no better, the only difference being that you will sit with an empty drink while watching the staff stand around discussing obscure indie music.

Christy was amazing! We ordered Mac and cheese and there was a problem in the kitchen but they totally took care of us. Appreciated the staff!

Met friends, on a recommendation for local flare. We were told it was an old hang out for Nirvana so had a nightcap. Great dive bar, classic rock. Did not eat so can't comment on food, but glad we checked it out.

Food is excellent. Great service. Recommend happy hour visit. This place needs to add chicken wings. Swear that will all but ensure people do not leave rhe place. :)

At around 11 on a Saturday we found street parking within a block. The place was packed and a few people appeared to be waiting, but they had a table for two for us. The service was excellent, the coffee was acceptable, and breakfast was fast, tasty, and came in portions that were sane. Huevos Rancheros vary as much as any item I ever order, and these were again somewhat different, but tasty and enjoyable. They had way more refried beans than one normally gets, came with a modest portion of very good hash brown potatoes, and the over easy eggs were perfectly over easy. I found them light on the salsa, but there were several options of hot sauce on the table so that worked out fine. My wife had the Really Special Linda's breakfast, eggs, hash browns, toast, and bacon. The Special, as opposed to Really Sp.,comes w/o meat. She likes bacon crisp and pronounced the bacon very good. The music seemed a bit loud for breakfast for old fogies like us, and the general feeling is whatever the opposite of elegance might be, but it was a very good breakfast and came very quickly as breakfast should, which surely isn't a given when every table is packed.
A Seattle Staple
At some point or other, I think every person living in Seattle has gone through Linda's. It's a fantastic hole in the wall with a surprisingly nice patio out back. The food here is good and not too pricey and the drinks are great. You can play pool here but there is only one table so be prepared to meet your neighbors.
