This is the best Mexican restaurant with the best, most authentic food on the north side of Chicago.

I Go here a lot and have gotten good tacos , but not as big as some places. To me the best time to go is on weekend mornings when the tacos are better. But the past weekend it wasn't as good to me .. New cook ?don't know and service was very slow . I guess Ive been going to a new place and they are much bigger and better tasting. But all in all they are not terrible and prices aren't too bad either.

Went there for dinner on a recommendation. Was not disappointed. Good size place. Staff friendly. FOOD WAS GOOD. A basic menu but there were a number of options. There were three of us. All the food looked and tasted great. No complaints and I will go there again.

Now at 4600 Kedzie. Whole Red Snapper with garlic cooked just right. One of the best authentic Mexican places on the NW side.

Ohhhh-maaaa-Godddd! Cooking from the heart of Mexico. Who would of thought this low visibility restaurant attached to a mexican grocery store (same owners), serves up some of the most outstanding homemade Mexican dishes this side of the border. And, its only a hop-skip west of Ravenswood neighborhood. We had the steamed white fish filets with vegetables -- which came out steaming hot wrapped in tin foil, which when opened revealed a huge mound of filets, soaking in a tasty broth with tomatoes green peppers and onions; accompanied on the side with a plate of rice, beans, lettuce, sliced tomatoes, slices of avacado, and a half-dozen tortillas (only $10.50). Delicious! Our other entree was the Chicken Mole, which was half a chicken on the bone smothered in thick tasty mole sauce, accompanied by same sides as above ($6.95). Other diners enjoyed excellent looking BBQ skirt steak ($9.50). Best of all, surprisingly for a Mexican restaurant, its BYOB.

This place is an authentic mexican restaurant that is truly fantastic. You can enjoy a burrito or taco with chips and salsa. The staff is very helpful and the service is great.

We met a friend here for lunch based on their recommendation and we all (2 adults, 2 kids ages 8 & 3) loved it. Very busy/crowded for Sunday lunch for a good reason. An excellent choice in the neighborhood (Albany Park).

I think I pretty much summed it up in the title, but add to that fantastic portions, helpful service when ordering, and the food comes out quick and fresh. I'm looking forward to trying more of the menu next time I'm in Chicago. And the time after, etc.

This is one of the best authentic mexican food spots I know. Service is always quick and nice. Place is always clean.

Excellent food, great service, and wonderful portions. Can never decide what I want or how I want it. This place is a golden icon for affordable Mexican cuisine.

My wife and I stopped in on a spur of the moment this past weekend. My wife wanted Mexican and we were treated to authentic Mexican. You'll get the free chips and salsa before your meal. My wife ordered the chicken enchiladas which was a very generous portion and delicious. I ordered a chicken breast stuffed with cheese, spinach, onions, and mushrooms covered in a chipotle sauce. The chicken was nice and thin so as to make the rolling/stuffing perfect. It was simply delicious. They had a Saturday special of menudo soup which several patrons were eating and it looked wonderful. If you want authentic Mexican north of the border I highly recommend this establishment.
Totally recommend
Every time I go to Chicago I have to stop here, the food is excellent, the service is really fast and the people super sweet! I love this place!
