We stopped in at his location on 4 May 2015, in fact we drove roughly 37 miles out of our way to go eat We are quickly seated and our drink was soon delivered Our waitress came along in a few minutes and put extra napkins on the table Both of us ordered the chicken fried steak dinner gravy ,mashed potatoes, pinto beans and corn the wife had Brussels sprouts rather than corn I really think the gravy is scratch and not out of a premade mix box/package Two large rolls and two cornbread muffins Good not have ask for a better meal. It was fantastic even though the veggies were just warm it did not take away from the overall goodness of the meal While eating two other couples were seated one ordered a hamburger steak with white gravy and fries with salad it looked just as good as our meal. I am not sure what his wife ordered The other couple ordered burgers and you did not have to ask anyone where the meat was these were very good size and make your mouth water I may not drive 50 or 60 miles out of the way to eat there (yes, I would ) but well worth going out of the way If you are looking for a home style lunch this is the place

I live nearby and ate at Denny's in Seagoville for years until recently. (New management there is terrible and it reflects in service and quality), I found this place one month ago and love the service and food is excellent, just one problem is the chicken fried steak was bland and tough, but with so many excellent options I just do not order the chicken fried steak. Again an excellent place for service and good food. Only 4 stars because this is Texas, and to not have an amazing chicken fried steak is illegal in my opinion.

This diner is known for home cooked food. I went with my husband and two colleagues of mine. We ordered chips and salsa for the table because nothing was offered. The chips were ok and the salsa was way too spicy hot and not really flavorful; this was the opinion of all guests at our table. I ordered the special: chicken fried steak, beets, carrots and beans. They were out of beets so I then ordered mashed potatoes. My food was served barely warm. The chicken fried steak was tender and perfectly seasoned but barely warm. The carrots were fresh but barely warm. The potatoes were lacking seasoning and were barely warm. The beans tasted like yesterday's batch and were barely warm. The rolls were ok but the cornbread was not good at all. We asked about a dessert recommendation. The answer was apple pie but then we were told they were out. We opted for pecan pie; it was good with just the right amount of sweetness. Women's restroom was clean. Atmosphere was pleasant. I was over all not pleased with my meal. They do, however, serve breakfast and I would be willing to try that. How can a diner not succeed at breakfast? We shall see.

b This is the place for you . It is old and has been around for many years. The menu is extensive . The waitstaff is always the absolute BEST!!.. Now remember it is and old building that needs major updating , The food is not too high. Remember if you ever want to see the Health report of a restaurant you can ask and they will show you . It's the law. I eat here often since i live close . I enjoy the smothered hamburger steak, They have great sides ! Breakfast is great too. It is off I-20 heading toward Forney .

We had a good family meal here after a grueling day of travel. I had huevos ranchero, and my friend had liver and onions. Both were very good. The service was prompt and friendly, and the atmosphere clean and bright. Would stop here again.

Stayed in a La Quinta maybe a mile from this place, which is right off I-20. Not much else in the area that looked too good, mostly fast food places, so we decided to try it. Place looks okay, certainly not a fancy place but comfortable. Wait staff were delightful. First night, we were seated by a big handsome guy who told us his name was Bubba, who pointed us at the nightly specials...the classic southern "meat and two"- your choice between about 3 or 4 main dishes and then your choice of two sides, plus good homemade rolls. My husband had the chicken fried steak with gravy, and it was large and very good. He is a veggie lover and he loved the veg choices he had. I had their fried shrimp, which was hand-dipped (not the frozen crusted kind) and again, very good. We went back the next night, and again loved our choices. They had lots of folks both times we were there, and always had lots of cars in the parking lot - and if you are looking for someplace with good home cooking, plenty of food on your plate, lots of choices, and VERY reasonable prices (the specials were 6.99!) Lindy's is the place for you.

Good food and fast service, atmosphere is so-so. We had the club sandwiches and chicken fry, tea was good too! Staff was so accommodating and quick to serve

Ate here twice in two days while in town on business. Above average home-style food at an incredibly good price with incredibly fast service. Definitely worth a try if you are in the area looking for an alternative to fast food.

Lindy's is nothing fancy, older building with cracks, old faded pictures, and the seats may be a little lumpy; but, you won't find a friendlier staff, better specials, or great home cooking anywhere! The breakfast selections are to die for, and lunch specials are the best, get more meal for the money. Be warned, there may be a short wait, as this place is usually full...but worth it!

This is home country cooking at its finest. Process at first appeared average priced for this type of restaurant, but when I saw the amount on the plate, and treated the quality, this restaurant is under priced. Even my kids which NEVER eat everything, ate their whole plate without fighting or coaxing with them to eat. So, overall, this was an extremely enjoyable dinner. I will absolutely come here again.

The folks at Lindy's are down-to-earth, love-ya-like-you're-family friendly. It has a great atmosphere. The prices are affordable & the portion size are bigger than the food chain dining restaurants. The food just tastes better when love is cooked into it.

Came in at 20 till close with my son, looking for a snack. We caught the horrified gaze of several servers on the way in. The hostess, looked at us like we were lost and checked the time and paused deep in thought after I stated we would like to place a Togo order. She slowly replied that ‘we would have to order something from the day’s specials’ and shrugged with an apathetic stare. We asked what are the specials, and she sighed as she pointed to a small sign on the counter. We ordered a side item, for 3.99 and two teas and a water, our total was $9.05! She then asked if we were traveling!!! And I said yes, we were and added details only for her to reply with a blank stare of apathy. She said nothing and just stared at me for like 30 seconds. Then she handed me my ticket and said ‘tip and sign please’. What??? Tip??? The nerve!!! And with her poor attitude, how dare she! Then I witnessed her getting an attitude with a special needs guest & subsequently another guest giving the hostess a taste of her own medicine on behalf of the elderly special needs guest. She was blond heavy and had glasses.

I love Linda's the food is great the staff is awesome. If you are looking for a great place to eat than Linda's the place for you.

This is an excellent value, they have the blue plate special for dinner,$6.95. Very taste oyster with salad and bake potato $9.99. Don't forget the desserts

Friend and I ate late lunch today. She got hamburger, I lunch special. Both, OK at best. Broccoli with cheese, long cuts, but in small bowl. Hard to cut/eat. So I ordered chocolate pie. When waitress asked I told her it didn't taste as good as should and rubbery. I inquired what food company they got from and she said it was homemade. No way it should taste so bland. I've been here many times. Usually a solid 4 stars, but 5 stars? Come on people. Llearn to rate.

On our way out to East Texas we decided to stop in for a quick bite. I ordered the One Egg breakfast with hash browns and 2 biscuits and gravy for $3.99! It was really good. I could not finish my biscuits. If you are looking for a great bargain breakfast, give Lindy's a try.

My wife was derelict in her duties as navigator and we missed the Seagoville exit on I-20 near Dallas. It was only a mile to the next exit and turn around.... and well worth the effort. Noon lunch was crowded with locals and travelers like us. The service was fast but the food is NOT fast-food. My quest to find the best chicken-fried steak with mashed potatoes and cream gravy was rewarded. OUT-darned-STANDING! This is the type of place I wish was in my neighborhood! Nothing fancy.... just great!

Staff always friendly and courteous, never a long wait. I normally stop in for breakfast which is always great (5 star). Recently i stopped in for lunch with a business associate and ordered the Chicken fried steak, big mistake as it was easily the worst CFS that I've ever had. I deducted 2 stars , if you cant do a good CFS in Texas then you need to take it off the menu.

Service good, prices good, but food today just not that good. Turkey dry, not enough dressing, greens bland, and not a fan of their yams. Mashed potatoes and rolls very good.

Our family has enjoyed this place for years. Great food, service and they care about their customers. You won't be disappointed....and cornbread and rolls are awesome!

I was visiting my family in Dallas Texas a couple weeks ago and they took me out too breakfast.. Lindy’s was the place we visited to eat and I’m glad we did.. Their customer service was Very Nice and the food as well.. Whenever, I’m in the big D I will go back to dine again!!!! Thanks Lindy’s for a Job well done...

We must have just Missed Adventure Cup .It was about 7 in the evening on the 22nd that we ate there as well We had the late lunch special Chicken fry steak mashed potatoes, blackeye peas and corn he wife had cabbage and pinto beans. The service was very good our tea glasses were kept full ,the meal was hot not warm and we did really enjoy it This is one of a few places that have 8 or so vegetables to pick from and get 3 out of them most places have 4 or 5 and you get 2 Someone at another table ordered a Taco salad .I could not believe how big it was .They did not come close to eating all of it Before we were done we felt stuffed and could not eat another bite You have to try this establishment we will be going back

We have eaten at Lindy's a few times and the food is always good. The restaurant is older but clean and the staff is friendly and easy going. Breakfast is really good. They even have Rye toast.

I only had a burger and fries. The fries were good. The burger was ok. Definitely didn't seem as advertised. Was thin and didn't have much flavor. The waitress was great. The bathrooms need some help! One stall was out of order.

Good price. Generous servings. Food is tasteless. No flavor @ all. Not with the Potatoes r Eggs. Meat is as if its from old animals. Will not be going back.

If your travels take you west on I-20 from Shreveport, Tyler or Terrell, try the southern route and stop in at Lindy's. The food is good old down home cooking, made with care and the staff is friendly. It's like stopping for a meal at your cousin's house! The coffee is good, and the portions hearty. Often, Mom-n- Pop eateries must charge more to stay in business...not so here. I can tell you that the chicken fried steak is more tender than anywhere else in Dallas County. The eggs are REAL, and they are NOT poured out of a carton. Come on by & enjoy! Open 7 days a week, and something good is ALWAYS cooking!

Hey best breakfast diner the whole trip! Day #1 pecan waffle and home fries (cold, but replaced quickly) husband had Chorizo Rancheros and loved it Day #2 both had breakfast quesadilla, mine with out sausage This is Huge!!! Full of everything eggs, potatoes, ham, bacon, sausage cheese Delicious meal! In Dallas TX the place to eat, nothing fancy just good southern cooking! All the food we saw looked tasty!

Great place to eat breakfast or dinner. Homemade food, great prices. You won't go home hungry. Eaten here several times. Great stop off of I20.

The food here was really good. Great value for the price. Lunch special comes with 3 sides and homemade yeast rolls and cornbread. Honey on the table. This was the best home cooked meal I’ve had in a long time. Homemade pastries and pie. It’s worth your time to go here!

We stopped for dinner on the way to Bossier City. This place for great Home Cooking. The menu Is awesome and the staff Is friendly and very helpful. Next time you're on I 20 in Seagoville stop by this restaurant.

The good: service very good today. Usually is. Not so good: food, ok at best. Green beans bland. Very bland actually. Mac and cheese? No...mac and tonatoes??? Who does that? Fried green tomatoes very hard. Dumplings good, but not great. And, flies. Way too many flies! I expect an occasional one, but several today. A/C not up to par I guess. Way too warm in here today. I hope they're back up to par next time. Usually a solid 3-4 easily, and rarely less than a 4.

Stopped in during road trip since it was right off I-20 & convenient. Glad we did. Food was very good and Way too much. The homemade dinner rolls are to die for. Wished we had have had room for some homemade desserts. Definitely recommend Lindy’s.

This reminds me of the home cooking my grandma and mother used to cook. It is served fresh. Staff is friendly but at times they get really busy. Its best to expect a small wait on sunday's, lunch seems to be really busy. They always have a daily special. They offer to go meals. Family friendly.

Enjoyed a really good hamburger steak for lunch. The portion size was enough for a very hungry man. Gravy was great and fresh rolls with butter. Staff was attentive and service great. Will definitely stop again.

Overall it was just perfect...Rather old fashioned warmth and hospitality .. Staff is ever so pleasant and helpful .. Food was just what we had been looking for.... Warm Cozy setting...It was a place we wish we had discovered years ago !!!

We have eaten here several times, have suggested this location to an untold number of people ,plus give it great reviews here on TA On Sunday evening about 5 P.M. we arrive here with another couple that had never been here before .They have a daughter that is 12 and a 5 y/o .We had told them how great the place was When we walk in I noticed how hot it was inside and made the comment to the waitress to put us in a cool spot . A customer speaks up and says good luck with that We place our orders and shortly the waitress has it out to us We finish up and as we leave I always tip the waitress according to the service and tip the cook according to how good the food is As the wife starts laying the tip on the table ,the waitress says no need for that we figure it into the bill. I look and am shocked that there is an 18 % gratuity fee added on. She says this is automatic for a group of 6 I never even thought of a 5 y/o old be counted as a 6th person We get to the counter and I ask to see the menu and it is handed to me and I look for the statement The lady ask me if I found what I was looking for and I told her yes was looking at the added fee Rudely she says it is there and snaps the menu open again as if to show it to me The problem is it is on the front and in the drawing on the menu not on a food page I told her we eat here all the time and this is their first time .I think there would be a little leeway considering one is only 5 The woman would not budge even though she knew we were regulars I hate to say the cook got nothing and the waitress got less than what she would have gotten They have lost us as regulars and the other couple stated they would never be back I understand charging a fee but to do it with two kids as part of the 6 is unreasonable If they were crowded and busy I could have understood it maybe but the place was almost empty so they could have easily knocked some off and I could give the cook their share Be sure if you go to watch for the gratuity fee of 18 % if there is 6 or more

Too bad they are not open in the evening anymore, Covid has ruined the best places due to the lazy people not wanting to work.

Overall Customer Service Rating: #1 1-Excellent Customer Service--- (Attentive/Courteous/Thoughtful) Restaurant Ambience & Description: A Country Old-fashioned Setting Overall Food Description & Quality: 6.5 out of 10 *Chicken legs were very small---was semi-seasoned *Waffle--was not so flavorful typically spongy in taste *Green Beans--unseasoned *Pinto Beans--watered down in taste/lacked seasoning *Rolls and cornbread-flavorful and fresh *Coffee was fresh, strong and good *Catfish--the meal was a little too gritty and salty *Fries--very good crunchy and seasoned *Sweet Tea was OUTSTANDING!!! *Lindy's Restaurant food was overall good and will visit again if ever in the area

Lindy's is just off of I20 and Seagoville Road. The restaurant has two dining areas, with booths and tables available. Service is lightening fast. There are specials to select from, I had the pork chop fritters (Texas husband translated this: breaded pork chop) with three sides. Husband had fried liver, which is tough to get right in a restaurant. Food was out quickly, hot, and deellcious. OMG the homemade rolls are to die for. Price per service is excellent. Highly recommend and will be going back to eat there again.

The food and service is awesome. If you want good home cooking this is the place. We come after church on Sundays or if we want some good old fashion lunch or dinner. Their patty melt is delicious. Onion rings are great. Craving moms cooking come here.

Love the home cooking extremely, sweet staff they make their own rach dressing yummy. On Wednesday thiet enchilada are awsom. On sunday they make turkey and dressing thier pies are made daily again i say yummy

Very friendly staff, good choices of daily specials, very good breakfast.Serves breakfast all day. Gotta try the pie! Clean bathrooms.

Good home cooking! Non franchise is our type of place! Very busy, but the service is still very good! I had the beef enchiladas and the hubby had the catfish combo. They even serve breakfast all day. Conveniently locate off of I20 & Segoeville road!!

While driving down Interstate 20, I noticed a bill-board sign that mentioned Lindy's. We immediately pulled off, and I chated with several folks as we walked in. I ordered the Chicken Fried Steak - which was the daily special. Delicious. Food was served hot. I shared the meal with my 88 year old mother. Plenty of food for the both of us. We had sides - corn, mashed potatoes and okra/tomatoes. We even ordered choclate pie and coconut pie to share with my father at home. The service was good. Food delicious. And I would go back again.

Their food is the homestyle cooking that you CRAVE from your childhood or your grandmother. The helpings of the food are huge and the servers.....are AMAZING!!! You have to love the cozy feeling of being a part of the family" when eating there. You won't be sorry for stopping in.

My wife and I share a lunch special and a piece of coconut cream pie. Never leave hungry. You get an entrée, three veg’s, and corn bread/rolls for under $10. Our favorites are the meat loaf, chicken fried steak and enchiladas.

We were headed home from a flight arrival around 4 pm toward Bossier City and just starving after flying from Portland, OR via San Francisco and still had no lunch. Hubby remembered roughly where this restaurant was and I remembered the name started with an L so we stopped and had a great meal. I had a vegetable plate and he had a sandwich with a couple of sides. So filling and really enjoyed it, plus right by I-20 with good prices, broad menu and good friendly service.

If you're looking for a fancy restaurant this isn't it. If you're looking for good down home country cooking with a friendly staff at a decent price you found the right place. You get plenty of food for your money often I have to bring leftover food home with me. One time I went down by myself and the restaurant was packed. They still got me seated in good timing and served in good timing. They did it with a smile on their face.

My wife and I ate here for supper. Clean and quiet. Service was excellent and friendly. We both a Rib yeys steaks. They were grissly and tough. The bake potato and salad were excellent. Expensive for the quality of the food.

Have never been disappointed here. Good food, good price, staff very friendly. In fact, I'm taking my friend there today. We're driving up from Waxahachie (about 20 miles away) just so she can experience this hidden jewel before she moves out of state in two weeks! Hint, if they're in season, try the fried green tomatoes! Delicious....

Great food, Texas size portions! Large group, but they accommodated us well. Good selection on menu.

Food was excellent, the prices were just right and the service was even better. Wish Tyler had one like it.

Ate there right as church crowd was leaving on a Sunday. We saw their sign on the highway and decided to give it a try. We were seated right away. The dining room was large, bright, and clean. I had the lunch special which was turkey and dressing. My friend had the fried catfish. The meal came with fresh rolls and cornbread. Our meals were good and served quickly. The absolute only thing I have to criticize is that the fried squash is frozen squash and not very tasty.
Stay away
We arrived at 6:30 pm. The place was not crowded, and we were seated. We had 4 in party. The waitress asked us what we would like to drink but never came back. We had been sitting expecting someone to help us for 10 minutes and then moved to a different section hoping someone would wait on us. Eventually a new waitress came over. We requested chicken fried steak (they were out-it's only 6:30 pm). We also requested chicken legs-again out. Finally we settled on 1/4 of chicken, pot roast, chicken fried chicken and fried pork. After along while the meal finally came. To say it was horrible was an understatement. We cut into the chicken and it was cold like coming out of refrig, the fried pork was cold, the veggies were cold, the rolls were very hard, the salad was old, and fries were not done. Although the waitress was ok, when we checked out there was no comment from the receptionist/cash register lady about being sorry for the bad time we had (also her attitude was very unfriendly) We will never be back. I would give it a grade of zero satisfaction on service, and food
