Great place to grab dinner before a concert at Union Transfer. Great selection of beers. Recommend the Barrel House Burger: 8oz short rib & brisket blend burger, gruyere, roasted beer onions, Zayda’s sweet hot pickles, bacon, rosemary porter aioli. Yum!

My sis happened upon this joint because she was at a concert next door at Union Transfer. Said it was good so we came back. It is in Philly. A real city. Not a big group of towns and suburbs sprawled over a wide space that "says city", but a grits and grime all the time buses, trains, and trucks, ugly pretty and pretty ugly all at the same time. Full of things you can only find in this city. With so many things to do and places to eat, to find a cool spot on a Sunday that is not an hour wait to sit is so cool! Because it is in an area that hasn't gentrified enough to bring in all the "Trendy" folks. But they have SCRAPPLE, Grits, Cinnamon Pancakes, a good amount of TVs for the Eagles and decent Mimosas. They call their hash root vegetable hash without feeling pretentious and hipstery. You can just get regular eggs without that nasty sauce I won't mention that every brunch place must serve. And they have award winning brews if that is your thing. Go now before the burbs folks get brave enough to be all in the hood! Then you won't get a seat.

Great place... Great food and beer!! Loved to see Chambersburg, PA local business expand! Some of the same as in Chambersburg but yet definitely adjusted to city life.

I went on a very low key Thursday evening. Sarah have great service, even though I was by myself. She recommended the hibiscus cocktail, which was so good that I had two! The margarita pizza with pesto is AMAZING. The pesto is super tasty and the burnt cheese crust is like the cherry on top. A great find and I would definitely go back next time I’m in Philly!

Marty (the manager), you are a rock star. He accommodated our party on what was a crazy Super Bowl night. The staff did a great job keeping the food and drinks coming. They were very nice considering the craziness of the evening. There is a large selection of craft brews here with one that I'm sure you'll like. My wife only likes Blue Moon and she quickly settled in on a favorite. The food is pretty good. Their located on Spring Garden away from center city so hop in an Uber or Lyft as it's not a short walk from center city and not some where you want to get lost after dark.

I had an awesome time here , the bartender was so awesome great personality and the beer was pretty good as well , you have to try the beer cheese it was delicious and there key lime beer was my favorite definitely different from anything I’ve ever tried plenty of parking on side streets and again just a chill place had a good time

Made a trip into philly to hit a couple brewery type places. RP had, by far, the best beer and the best beer selection. We ordered a couple apps (cheese board, wings, giant pretzel) to go with our delicious brews!! It was an added bonus that the beer selection on the website matched the actual selection. Well done RP....we will be back for more...BTW the barrel aged cherry sour may have been the best sour I ever had!!!

Lots of interesting beers to sample. Food is basic bar food and was good but nothing special. Great prices for beer during happy hour.

We were there on a Sat night around 5:30, there was a private party there so it was a bit of a cluster. The drinks aren't too highly priced and were good, food was the redeeming quality. Overall good experience, but we'll be more hesitant before staying with another large group there.

The atmosphere at this pub is lovely. The food less so. I had the persimmon panini. Don’t have this! It was completely tasteless. The Brussels sprouts were good though.

We’d planned on walking to Yards before a concert at Union Transfer but with incoming rain, took our chances on getting a table at RP, just steps away. We lucked out and were seated at the window counter, despite all tables being booked for the night. We split a beer sampler across the range of offerings and liked them all. Interesting variations on IPAs, lagers and ales without being too extreme. The chicken schnitzel sandwich was lightly fried and great on sourdough bread. Also tried the pan seared chicken entree- the star was really the roasted carrots, which were done to perfection. Finished off with the creme brûlée which was wonderful. Friendly, knowledgeable and efficient service despite it being a busy night made for an all around great experience. It was our first visit but it won’t be our last!

We were looking at Roy Pitz for an event. Collaboration over email about the event was excellent, they were responsive and nice. We deeded to check it out in person and three of us stopped in. A bit difficult to park if you're not familiar with the area as we weren't, and wound up with a ticket. Atmosphere is industrial with a rustic touch, and works well. We had a couple of snacks which were good. Flights went over well with all three of us, beers were very good for a small independent brewery. Service was very good, slipping us an extra taster due to previous conversation. If this place were closer, then I'd be stopping in frequently!

Great staff, creative beers, well thought out delicious menu with rockin brunch on Saturday and Sunday. What's not to love? You're greeted like family only better...lol. The variety and quality of beer and food is creative and the design/layout is ideal for singles, couples, families and even smallish group events.

Visited Roy Pitz because it was close to Union Transfer, but would go back to the area just for the restaurant. Food was really good, environment was relaxing and service was good. We arrived around 5:30pm on a Friday night when only a handful of people were there, but within 30/45 minutes the place was busy and loud. They take reservations so I'd recommend them. Our party ordered the half chicken dinner, and the Cubano Panini which was a special. Both were good and quite filling (you may need a doggie bag due to the quantity of food).

I have been her three times. Wonderful beer selection and made in PA! Food has been delicious. Staff is knowledgeable. We went there after going to the theater on a Sunday and the Eagles kicker stopped by after he kicked a 61 yard game winning field goal

Visited in early September 2018. Facility is attractive, clean, and in a decent neighborhood. I visited in the mid afternoon on a Wednesday. There weren't many people in there at the time. There was a great selection of freshly brewed beers. The bartender was helpful and friendly. Didn't try the food, so I can't comment on that. Definitely worth a visit.

The pan-seared chicken (with cranberries and blackened carrots) was very good. I don't think I'd order the meat and cheese board again, however—one too many items that tasted like something straight from the grocery store. Other items, like burgers and immense pretzels, looked very good too. Extensive beer menu, but I opted for an Old Fashioned, which I found a little weak. Very busy with a unique urban ambience (communal tables, free board games, etc.).

Stopped in this place on a whim, it was great. Awesome beer and food selection. If you are into craft beer this is a great place to try with a huge menu. I can't wait to go back.

Have been to Roy’s 4 times at various times. Reasonable prices at happy hour and great food at any time. Cool layout and tables are set up nice with picnic style and high tops. Great area at 10th and Spring Garden, check them out! Near to Chinatown and other newer bars and restaurants.

We went here for dinner on my birthday with a bigger group and it was absolutely perfect! We are big untappd (beer app) people so we love when a place has all the beers posted through untappd! The food menu was awesome and the pizza was seriously some of the best pizza I’ve had in a long time. Would definitely love to come back when I’m in the area next.

My husband and I went to the Roy Pitz with my son and girlfriend the day after Thanksgiving. It is definitely a great pub food restaurant. We enjoyed the Bavarian Pretzel and Cheese and Meat Board first and highly recommend both. We both ordered the Barrel House Burger and it was delicious and huge! Neither of us were crazy about the roll and I only ate the bottom half of mine. My husband also enjoyed the beer there. If you're looking for a moderately priced pub style place to eat with lots of beer, this is the place.

We wanted beer and kids wanted food. We all walked out happy. It was a manageable walk from our hotel, and they sat us down on a big table. We had a big pretzel, two big pizzas and some other apps. Everything we had was good to great. The beer, even though just a simple lager, was delicious and very refreshing. And light enough to compensate for the heavy but awesome pizza. We probably ordered too much food, but it was so good we took it to go and enjoyed the rest later in our hotel. Our server was very nice and attentive as well. Little off the beaten path from the center hotel areas, but worth the find

Had dinner there on a Wednesday night, so not crowded at all. Hostess and Server were friendly and attentive. Decor is fun and interesting. Beer list is extensive. Sour beers seem to be a specialty and I had never had one. Didn't care for it, but that's not their fault. Food was decent bar food. Wings were tasty. We had the chicken roll app as well and, to be honest, it was a bit mushy. Wife had the burger and fries and that tasted good. I had the stuffed eggplant which was visually appealing but honestly bland and I needed some salt and tabasco. Daughter had the fried green tomato caprese and liked it very much. Overall decent, but I'd probably stick to beer and apps.
Great Bar Service and Food
Just had a post event stop here, solo. The bartender was attentive and very helpful on beer education, even though it was very busy. Excellent flatbread and plenty of beer choices. Fun crowd. Great hangout.
