The team that opened Little Bad Wolf in 2014 and Gretel in 2020 and Good Wolf last December has turned the bustling Clark Street corridor into a popular destination for the restaurant/bar crowd. Start with Little Bad Wolf, a New American or fusion restaurant with 100-plus beers and lots of whiskey and specialty cocktails paired with comfort food. Located at 1541 West Bryn Mawr Avenue, in the Andersonville neighborhood, it offers tacos and baos and huge portions of everything. Emphasis on huge. For entrees, you can choose steak frites or ocean trout or half-fried chicken or mac and cheese. With mashed potatoes and gravy. And a Caesar salad. Open from 11 a.m. to midnight Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. on Friday and Saturday, Little Bad Wolf also offers a burger that is so tasty that no condiments are needed. That's why I'm here. I started with a 1/2-pound of jumbo fried shrimp. Then I indulged in a "Bad Burger," a very inappropriate name tag. It consists of two beef patties, two slices of American cheese, house-made pickles and red onion mayo. With fries.

Best restaurant in Andersonville! Small, but fun and lively. Every item on the menu is fantastic! Friendly service. Must go!

I love this place! Great service. Unique cocktails. Consistently amazing food. Pork. Chicken. Fish tacos. Something like fried avocado on fresh corn. You can't make a bad choice. Just go! I can't wait to get back there on my next trip to Chicago.

We ordered several items from the menu and shared. Everything was delicious, the server was delightful and patient with our nutritional restrictions. We ate on the sidewalk in this busy, yet lovely Andersonville neighborhood. The interior was chic and comfortable at the same time. I found free street parking on Bryn Mawr easily and my friend parked around the corner on Clark at meters, but I am told parking can be hit or miss in that general area. I recommended it to a work friend who let me know they also had a great experience. The fried shrimp was the best I have had in years. The shrimp itself was very high quality and the batter was fried perfectly. The crostini for the charcuterie was so good we asked for, and received more. The sliders were great ,and we each had a sumptuous taco and bao fold. We also shared some delicious elote, and an order of brussels sprouts. All the food was flavorful and different, but great. It was a lot of little things, but we could not finish it all and we are all good eaters. Their signature drinks were also refreshing and different. Their punch varies and while we were there it sounded like it would be horrid (a pumpkin spice and brandy base), but the waiter encouraged us with a sample and we were sold. I really liked this place and will definately return when I find myself on the North Side looking to eat and relax.

I was excited to try this place. We had a bit of a lot of things and were satisfied. We started with the mussels (green curry coconut broth, Asian pear) with crostini - the sauce is one of the best I've ever had with mussels. Moved on to the fish bao (steamed bun) with cabbage and wasabi mayo - good, but splitting it meant two bites at most, and if you want a meal, you need two or three of these things to yourself (comes in 5 styles, and tacos come in 6 styles). We also had the elotes (corn off the cob in chili aioli, cotija, beer battered avocado) - filling and very tasty. Finally, we topped it off with....a side of mac and cheese (bacon, scallions, toasted bread crumbs), which was creamy and satisfying. We each had a couple of beers from their tap and bottle/can list.....I will return sometime soon, I hope.

The menu is limited but good. There are lots of beers to choose from and the fare is well chosen for a bar restaurant. The music inside is a little loud, but overall the atmosphere is good.

We go to LBW at least 2 times per month, usually more in the summer. Everything we've had from the burger to the fried chicken to the chopped salad (my favorite) has been delicious. The service is casual, fun and prompt. Jack's the best bartender in Andersonville! LBW is great for brunch, lunch and dinner!

In our quest to discover the best burgers in Chicago, my wife and I found our way back to Little Bad Wolf in Chicago's Andersonville neighborhood. Located at 1541 West Bryn Mawr Avenue and open from 11 to 11 Sunday through Thursday and 11 to 1 a.m. on Friday and Saturday, it has made a citywide reputation on its burgers, especially the signature Wolf Burger. With a side of mac and cheese, of course. A Wolf Burger contains three beef patties, fat strips of bacon, molten American cheese, onion straws, house-made pickles, red onion, mayo and a fried egg. Sort of like emptying the pantry. But it all comes together with a two-fisted grip and a full-filling taste that persuades you to come back again and again. Did I forget that we started with jumbo fried shrimp and jumbo crab cakes? The Wolf Burger is too much burger for my wife. Her favorite is pan seared sea trout with bacon onion hash, sauteed spinach and spicy butter sauce with buttery mashed potatoes and bacon gravy. I've said it before and I'll say it again: If I have to rank the top 10 burgers in Chicago, the Wolf Burger is among them.

My first visit to Little bad wolf was the night they were featured on Check Please. We were greeted and seated by the owner. Super friendly guy. Our server gave us a pretty thorough run down of both the drink and food menus and helped us picked out some really tasty drinks and food. We had the sliders with a ridiculously good mac and cheese. We also ordered a burger with a side of crispy fries and elotes corn which was topped with delicious battered dipped, fried avocado slices. Overall, the food and service were excellent. This place ia a neighborhood gem i cannot wait to visit again.

We were running errands in Andersonville and decided to try this little place out. We wanted some small plates but ended up eating more. My husband ordered the crab cake, a steak bao with a side of mac and cheese. I ordered chips, guac and salsa (to share) as well as three potato tacos. We enjoyed our food and had to take some left overs home with us. Nice atmosphere, good service and good food.

I took a chance on this place for lunch recently and needless to say I was impressed by what I had. The tacos were some of the best I had (especially the beef and pork ones). You can have them with the corn soft tortilla shell or with a Chinese Bao as the wrapper. Both a good (the pork works great with Bao, and the beef works great with Tortilla). I also had their fries which were as nearly good as those at Hopleaf, so no worries there. Finally they have a good selection of draft, and I really enjoyed my seasonal beer there. This place is a gem in the neighborhood because it is not as crowded as Hopleaf and well you get as good of a meal. I will try the burgers there next time, they look yummy too.

Second time I have been here. Impressed both times. This place raises the bar on 'bar food'. Great burgers!

I've been here a few times. It's small, so you have to come early if you want a seat. The burgers are ok. I had mine medium with crunchy onions. But I really come here for the El Chupacabra which I think is a rum based drink, but I'm not sure. All I know is it's smoky, peppery and really tasty. I haven't really tasted anything quite like it before. So if you get in, try it or some of their other drinks.

We found ourselves in Andersonville and Trip Advisor, Yelp, locals and pretty much everyone else tells you to go here. Listen to them. Listen to me. We stopped in for lunch. Super cute, comfy place. Service was very friendly. Bar was cool and had great selections of whatever you might want. All the food looked delicious. They care what they put out. We shared the mac and cheese (so good), elotes (so good), pork and chicken bao (so good) and Brussels sprouts (good). We didn’t order one but the guy next to us had a salad and I can attest it was SUBSTANTIAL. I would love to go back and try so much more of their menu.

We had a late Sunday lunch on the patio on a perfect Chicago Day! Service was very attentive and the food variety was terrific from unusual tacos and steamed buns to terrific burgers and an enormous salad with everything but the kitchen sink. The cocktail menu was also excellent and our service was right on spot. I definitely recommend LBW for a meal with friends!

Visit this place April 10, 2017. Service was really bad and I even sent an email to the manager, who never responded. I travel for a living, going to restaurant all over the world. I even mystery shop several restaurant’s in the Chicago area and this place would be my last stop. The waitress Shemika was very impolite and bias, I think that's what lost my appetite.

We were in the neighborhood with my friend's dog and someone informed us that the patio at Little Big Wolf was dog-friendly. We chose the establishment primarily for that reason, but found the food and drinks to be equally enticing once we examined the menu. The featured burgers are among the best, with excellent quality beef, never overcooked. But we were also impressed by the salads, elotes and mac-an-cheese. Numerous customers were vegetarians and expressed their satisfaction with selections on the menu. Local and regional beers are also a feature. In nice weather, one can dine outside and bring the dog along.

It's really nice place with very friendly and very helpful staff!!! Food is delicious! Cool design inside and really great atmosphere!!! My best recommendation!!!!

This bar reminds me of an upscale dive bar. They were packed when my boyfriend and I tried to get in, so we were put on a waiting list. We were able to grab a seat at the bar after only waiting about 1015 mins, instead of the quoted 40mins. The drinks are great, but the food is really what stands out here. Try their elote and their tacos, specifically the shrimp ones! Soooo good!

Location is not great, but if you are looking for a place where people are warm, make great cocktails and service nice food ( even Late night) at a really fast pace, this place is for you. Claire the barmaid was extremely nice, improved new cocktails for us. I was craving for a mojito and so far I drink the best one in Chicago there And the burger were tasty ;) We will visit again soon !

The restaurant is tiny, but has some outdoor seating and it's very trendy inside. Ate there for lunch with a friend on Sunday and was not crowded at all, I wouldn't recommend it for large groups or for families since seating is not great. They do have a nice bar selection. Staff is not overly efficient but not terrible, a good place for lunch or drinks. You will have a hard time finding parking (unless you cheat like we did and parked across the street at the laundrymat parking). The tacos are amazing (but tiny) so if you like to eat you will need to order more than 2.

I went here the night after I went to Au Cheval -- reportedly the best burger in Chicago or even in the country -- and found the burger here to be every bit as good, and without all the hassle of waiting in line (since Little Bad Wolf allows reservations, whereas Au Cheval does not).

My husband and I got into town late and were hungry. Our friend recommended this place and we decided to check it out. It is difficult to find parking for this restaurant. You cannot park in the back because it is Jewel parking. The restaurant itself is very warm and artsy. The brand itself has a dope logo and the decor is awesome. We were immediately seated and started to comb through a long drink list. I settled for a bourbon cocktail. It was so well balanced with a hint of citrus. For mains, I was impressed that all their baos and tacos could be wrapped in lettuce. Keto peeps rejoice!! I had the tuna taco, steak taco, steak bao, and pork carnitas taco, all wrapped in lettuce. Co-op hot sauce was served with these tacos. The hot sauces were the perfect compliment. My favorite out of the 4 was the tuna. The tuna was super delicate and there were herbs added and an aioli. For sides we had the elote, which was killer. Fried avocado?! Yes please! The Brussel spouts were awesome too! The fried onions and pine nuts were nice touches. The service on the other hand did not live up to the delicious food. Our waitress wrote everything down, but forgot my friend’s dinner. My husband and I received our dinner and 1 side and my friend was waiting. My husband asked for club soda with lime and received the limes, but not water. Then she forgot our Brussels until we kept asking for it. The food was delicious, but the service could be better. Be persistent to make sure your order is correct!

It is what it is, a great burger place and more. Tacos, mac & cheese, bags, lumpia and more. If you have the Chicago Blues, this place will sooth your soul with delicious comfort food. I enjoyed my Wolf Burger, however, you will want to have extra napkins when you try it. Good beer and whiskey selection. A great new find for us!

Super cute, small little place with great drinks, music, and food. The atmosphere is great and the copper bar is really cool. If you like bourbon, definitely go there! Mussels are amazing, burgers and bao's are really good. Don't have anything bad to say here. All the servers are really nice! I've been there several times and looking forward to going back!

We love the food here and tons of choices for wines, whiskey's, beers, etc. The food is always good quantities and taste great! The staff are very attentive and friendly!

We love this restaurant. We have been there at least 5 times and always have been delighted! Great service and alway delish food. They just took over the space next door and have much more seating.

i was fortunate enough to attend a private birthday/New Years Eve party at LBW and have been back two times since. At the party, we had a chance to sample the majority of the menu and indulge in some of their outstanding craft cocktails. The bar is very well stocked and the bartenders knowledgeable, I would definitely recommend their mescal cocktail as well as, the Manhattan, both of which are classics. The food does not disappoint, as well. Their burgers are as good as most any in Chicago. You must try the tacos and especially the Bao either shrimp or pork are not to be missed. The owners and staff couldn't be more professional and welcoming and we look forward to the outdoor seating this Spring. The Little Bad Wolf is our go to place in 2015

I recently enjoyed a wonderful lunch at Little Bad Wolf. This is an excellent choice for lunch or dinner in the Edgewater / Andersonville area of Chicago. They have an outstanding variety of tasty tacos and baos to select from. All were creatively conceived and well balanced in flavors. Yum!!! This has become a hot spot, so I would recommend trying it on a weekday or during off peak hours.

Great beer and cocktail choices. I had the drunken rooster-a Belgian style beer which I really liked. Indoor and outdoor seating. They are on a busy intersection but did a nice job carving out a private seating area for guests. Tried the 3 cheeseburger sliders with fries. Excellent flavor and cooked just right. Enough to share. 2 people, 2 drinks and shared entree was $44 with tip. Abundant street parking. Recommended if you are looking for good pub food and nicely crafted beers.

This is a nice place for dinner. But if you don’t like crowds or really loud restaurants where you have to yell across the table to hear each other, avoid this place - especially on weekends. And don’t park in the lot that has their name on the wall. You will be towed.

After waiting 10 minutes we were seated and ordered cocktails. The selection was great! Our waitress was very polite and attentive. The food was very delicious. FYI the Waldorf salad is HUGE! We thought the music was a bit loud. We’d definitely visit again.

Really enjoyed our late snack here - couple of great beers, wonderful mussels (curry-coconut broth and pear) and the elotes - corn off the cob with chili aioli, cotija, togarashi, beer battered avocado. Both great choices and filling too. Service is fast and friendly.

Found this place under one of those, "what can we find to eat up this way", situations. So after a few minutes on yelp we found, Little Bad Wolf. The reviews look good so we tried it. The venue is small. It's a full-service bar, when I say full-service I mean an outstanding list of beers, bourbons and whiskeys. There's about 8 tables. Some of the tables are large and can sit six comfortably. There our also some high tables with stools. It's a favorite spot now. During ours visits, the serving staff has been very attentive and knowledgeable with respect to the menu. We have only eaten there during the afternoon hours. So,what have we eaten here? The skirt steak and frites are on point; the burgers are amazing. We last tried the LBW burger; the triple cheese burger patties are adorned with a hand cut slab of bacon and fried onion shoestrings along with other standard accoutrements. This burger is the most wonderfully delicious and messy burgers that I have "ever" eaten. The fired shrimps are outstanding! The Guacamole is also on point. There's a lot more on their menu that we want to go back and try. So far, the only item on the menu that i've tried that I didn't like, was the crab cake. The taste, texture and size was uneventful, the bottom was burnt, and not worth the price. Regardless, I am looking forward to going back and trying other items on the menu.

Very good place, just a little bit challenging to find a spot to park your car nearby, you can have something unusual as macaroni cheese instead of fries with your burger. Good selection of beers as well.

Stopped in here in the late afternoon before heading to a show. Bartender, who was the manager I believe, was very welcoming and friendly. The atmosphere is that of a friendly, upscale pub. But no pretenses at all. I felt completely comfortable at the bar as a solo diner in jeans and t-shirt. Great selection of tap beer. But the whiskey/bourbon/rye list? WOW!!! It's huge with everything from single barrel to Early Times. And the food doesn't disappoint either. I had a potato taco and it was heavenly. I know potato tacos sound simple, but they are done wrong more often than they are done right. Not at Little Bad Wolf. Perfectly done and super tasty. The homemade tortillas are divine! All the tacos are small, perfect for mixing and matching a few. Think small street-style tacos. Go to this place. You will be glad you visited!

Troy was our bartender. Very attentive and checked on us very often. Music was great and the atmosphere was really laid back. The food...oh my good, the food was amazing and well as the cocktails. My girlfriend and I had the mussels, shrimp baos, fish baos, & pirk baos. The shrimp was the best of the three. We also had the lumpias and they were soooooo good. Great place and will be back again!!

What a great place. You walk through giant curtains and you are in a small, somewhat loud restaurant where everyone says hi and the staff love doing what they do. Great music and cocktails. You think it stops there but then you order the mac and cheese, shrimp tacos and fried chicken and you are blown away. Everything from the old fashioned to the company was excellent. The bartender was fabulous kept checking on us but also you could tell he loves what he does and is passionate. I am so glad we pulled ourselves out of the Air B&B and had this amazing experience. A must if visiting Chicago!

Ate here on a rainy weekday after noon with hubbie and daughter. She wanted to try the restaurant as had heard good things about them. We started off with a beer and a cider from their extensive list, wish I could remember the name of the beer from the seasonal menu as it was wonderful. Had appetizer of mussels in a green curry broth, mussels were a first for two of us and we definitely would order again. Hubbie had 3 sliders with fried eggs, the seasoning of the eggs was unique without being too spicy. Daughter and I each had a taco and a bao These are small so you can try several. My taco was the potato and was my favorite, not at all bland, well seasoned. The chicken bao was also very good with an excellent flavor to the sauce.

This little place on the corner is AWESOME! Great vibes, bar area, mixologist behind the bar, our server, the food. Can't say enough good things about this little gem. If you're ever up in Andersonville, you HAVE TO GO! Such a great start to my bday celebration.

I had heard about Little Bad Wolf for awhile now. Mostly about its popularity among the Andersonville/Edgewater locals, and its reputation for being "crowded". I'm not a "crowded" place kinda person, so we decided to check it out for lunch. Also, taking advantage of the free parking in the back. It's hard to tell what your walking into from the outside, because of the tinted windows. But once your in, its surprisingly larger then it looks, and the warm wood decor was very inviting. They also offer a well landscaped, outdoor seating area in the warmer months. The menu is kind of eclectic without being intimidating. That being said, there were many things that immediately caught my attention, and I really wanted to try all of them. Mussels, Poke, Fried Chicken, Baos! But, it was the burgers coming out of the kitchen that caught my eye as well. Its 2 patties or 3, or the house sliders that round out the freshly made burger choices. Very Good! Served with delicious freshly cut french fries. The skillfully made Bloody Mary was a good choice with the burger, but they also offer a very extensive choice of beers, ales, ciders, mead, and wines by the glass or bottle. I'll return to LBW, to check off my list of other specialties that caught my eye.

I lived in Chicago for 6 years and found this gem on my own and I never told my friends because it was my go to spot! Their cocktail menu is awesome! If I hadn’t ordered so many I would be able to tell you which one is which in each photo. The best one had a popsicle stick with a sorbet on it :) Their Burger and Fries are really good! Loved their Al Pastor Taco, Crab Cake and Mac and Cheese. Outdoor seating as well :)

I still don't understand what a bao is, but I ate 3 and they were absolutely amazing. And whoever decided to beer batter an avocado? Genius. The place is a little loud but the servers are truly some of the most wonderful I've met.

Went for lunch with my wife and niece. Very interesting menu - a mixture of Mexican and Asian it appears. We had corn tacos and steamed asian baos - both were fresh and delicious. We also had the elotes and brussel sprouts that we also very tasty!

Great server Matt! The mussels with green curry are terrific, as are the bao. The mac and cheese with bacon and scallions is very savory, and the elotes just pop with flavor. Great place for lunch, a bit crazier at night. Recommended.

We ate there and this was a quaint restaurant with good food! Everyone enjoyed their food and such big portions! We all left full and satisfied!

Big crowd, got our orders wrong, forgot two entree’s but very ample portions. The Waldorf was fantastic...burgers looked great with the appetizer shrimp a killer. I will forgive the service because of the food and quality. I will return.

We stopped in here for a late, light dinner and the atmosphere was perfect. It was dimly lit with tiny hanging lights and candles on the tables. We had the baos and tacos, which were nice and small, perfect for sampling. There's also a huge, beautiful painting on one wall.

Our college-age son took us out for dinner at LBW. Delicious burgers, steak and mac n cheese. Creative, enormous salads. The only downside is this is a VERY small venue. We waited for a table in a space the size of a closet. The music is too loud to hold a conversation. This is a GREAT place in an interesting neighborhood if you are looking for a place that caters to a bar crowd.

Stopped in for a quick lunch with friends. If you aren't looking for it, it's defiantly hard to miss. Small, but cozy with a comfortable feel, our server was patient and informative. Their portions are large and makes easy to share. Their grilled caeser was probably the best salad I've had in a while.

Great atmosphere, food and service. Servers are always nice and accommodating. Food is consistently good and not your average fare,

I have NEVER had such an insulting and unpleasant dining experience in all my life as I did last night at Little Bad Wolf. Having heard such raving reports about this restaurant located just steps away from my Andersonville home, I decided to make it one of the stops on my list of Saturday evening entertainment venues. I must say that service standards have been severely compromised in this post-COVID era and the overall quality of service throughout the food service industry has diminished to levels that would have been deemed completely unacceptable just a few short years ago. I arrived at 7:19 p.m. and was met by two people at the host stand. I asked for a table for ONE. One of the two young ladies at the host stand repeatedly and unprofessionally referred to me as “Love,” which irked me to no end! I was told the wait time would be an hour but was assured the wait most likely would not be quite as long, so I decided to wait because I was greatly anticipating a wonderful dining experience. I was finally seated at around 8:34 p.m. at a 4 top where I sat for 5-8 minutes, which is far too long for a guest to sit before being greeted by a server, and mind you, for a Saturday night, IT WASN’T BUSY! I was finally greeted by a server named Kyle who asked me whether I would be joined by 3 more people. I informed him that I was the only person in the party, and he abruptly turns away, walks over to the hostess, exchanges words with the hostess, and never returns. The hostess then approaches my table, asks me to move to another table, and seats me at a table beside the bathroom entrance! I couldn’t help but to reflect back to Hattie McDaniel and the Oscar’s ceremony of 1940, which caused me to become incensed! I placed my order of what I thought would be something quick and simple, fried shrimp and fries. As I waited, I saw the server that initially waited on me, and I walked over to him to get his name. He gave me his name and follows up with an apology, but the die was already cast, and I had absolutely nothing to say to him. My order had a trendy presentation with an aesthetic appeal, but when I bit into the shrimp, it was an overcooked mess with the consistency of something straight out of the Dubble Bubble chewing gum factory! Not to mention, the fries were droopy and soggy. I couldn’t have been any more disappointed. The only person to show genuine concern was the replacement server who saw to it that my meal was comped, and I compensated her handsomely. Then I find out that the person who continually referred to me as “Love” was one of the managers. As I expressed my displeasure, she walks away from me in mid-sentence, which added further insult to injury. Needless to say, I will NEVER return to that place, and I will make it a point to tell this story to everyone I can to ensure no one else has the same horrible experience as I did. Apparently these people don’t know the power and effectiveness of word of mouth marketing.

Popped in for lunch on the recommendation of a friend and really glad we did Bao buns and tacos were really tasty but the wolf burger and grilled romaine salad were definitely highlights as was the yummy mac and cheese

Great bar with wonderful food and great selection of beers! Not lots of room but but a great atmosphere, very nice service. Had the pan seared cod, steak fritas, sliders and all were very good. The salads were huge and served in a large bowl. Will definetly return.

If anyone is looking for the best burger in the city, I highly recommend Little Badwolf. Everyone you talk to in Chicago will say Au Cheval is where its at, but I think the place is overrated. Little Badwolf is located in the charming neighborhood of Andersonville. Their menu contains a huge selection of drinks and the food items are big enough to chair. They have a patio for summertime and inside is big as well. We decided to head up there with a group of 7 of us after the beach. We waited about 10 minutes. I had the bad wolf burger which was excellent. A burger is where its at!!!

A sign of a good place is the desire to go back there multiple times in a short period. From the time that we first tried it about a month ago, we've been back collectively 7 times, and have not been disappointed. Drinking comes first here (evidenced by the 7 pages of drinks to the one for food), but that doesn't mean that the food is secondary. The tacos are excellent, and my companions have raved about the salads. But it's the cocktails that are the stars. Most interesting new Negroni that I've had in Chicago, as well as an excellent Manhattan and a delicious Sazerac. It's a small place so gets crowded quickly, but the turnover is high, so you never have to wait for very long. The best part? I can walk there from Edgewater.

I can say I think the food is outrageously great. The cocktails were also incredible. The service was extraordinary. The only gripe I could have: the music was louder than a 90s club scene. I had the burger and mac and cheese and I could not find anything to say other than outstanding excellence! Bartenders were great and mixed incredible cocktails

I was so excited to find a spot that serves Chicken Bao. I came with a group of four and we were seated quickly. I had the Chicken Bao, Chicken Taco and Slaw. I absolutely loved the Bao! The slaw was a perfect pairing too. We also loved the fries and dipping sauce as well as the chips and guac appetizer. I can't wait to come back for drinks and for more bao.

We loved our early dinner here. We had a concert to attend at Wrigley so scoped our a place we hadn’t been to that looked cool. Arrived around 5pm - outdoor seating was already full, so we opted to sit at the bar rather than wait. Zach made our drinks and served our food and was awesome. We had a couple of very well made Manhattans. Went with the fried shrimp appy to share. And had the famous burger that everyone raves about. It really is that good. Also had some Mac and cheese and side of Brussels Sprouts. Both excellent. I would definitely come back again and highly recommend.

We visited in the middle of the afternoon so it was not busy. We both ordered the middle size burger that came with fries. We also ordered the elotes corn appetizer. I thought the service was excellent. The fries were skinny and the sauce spicy and very good we shared the appetizer. Neither of us could finish our meal and had lots to take with us. I’d highly recommend the elotes corn appetizer. It’s reasonably priced and a great spot to get a good meal!!!

Menu is out of sight. Several pages of beer. Maybe 50 Bourbons. Every really good Scotch. Most impressive to me was the list of Rye Whiskeys. All my favs + many I've wanted to try. First time drinker of Whistle Pig. WOW. So smooth and tasty for 100 proof. Had to select from so many appealing appetizers. Mussels were terrific. Poke not spicy enough for my taste, but my daughter loved it. Had to have the Wolf Burger, which my daughter compares favorably to burger @ Au Cheval (my all time Fav). Messy , but worthy.

Very disappointed on my return visit. I ordered a MR double patty burger; no response from waiter. It came Medium, and I doubt it could be R or MR because the patties are so thin. Wny not one patty with enough thickness to control the done-ness? Bun was cold and soft. Fries were seasoned very well, but undercooked and greasy. Service was slow. Fee for using credit card was total surprise. On the bright side, my friend liked her Bao and Taco a lot.

Last night we got our first chance to see the new addition. We have been going to LBW since they opened, the extra room is great and the wonderful vibe continues. Cannot beat the Bad Burger with egg and my wife’s favorite. The grilled Romaine salad. Definitely remains our go to spot

We ate outside. Be prepared to order with your cell phone as they only had one paper menu. The food is tasty and the servings are generous. The service was prompt as we had little more than an hour so one of our friends could return to work.

Tried little bad wolf as a friend had recommeded it. Cozy inside, but a bit noisy. We arrived - no reservations taken - and saw an open table. The host was reluctant to sit us there, said they wanted to hold it in case a larger group showed up. We were a group of 6, and after some pleading we were seated. The food was great! The service was not. Food arrived one plate at a time, drinks went empty and we had to wave down the server to get a refill, bar service very slow. A little more work on the service side would make this a winner.

We stopped in late afternoon for a late lunch/early dinner. I am not a fan of strip building restaurants but you'll overlook that for Little Bad Wolf. Parking is usually available on Clark this far north of Andersonville and if you can't find a spot there, one block west is Ashland which has free parking on the street. The restaurant is on the small side but very well appointed with rustic lighting, tables, chairs and stools. Easy to get relaxed here. The drink selection was above average, including some stall-worth beers and a nice selection of off the beaten path beers. The cocktails looked interesting and fairly priced. The wine list was decent but focused mainly on middle of the road bottles. The liquor and specifically the bourbon selection was fantastic. We stuck with beer and both ended up finding new beers that we liked. We typically start with a burger at restaurants like these to gauge where things are at. I ordered the Wolf burger. Plan to arrive very very hungry if you want to tackle this guy. The burger style is multi-patty and probably packs a days worth of calories in but I will say it is worth it, and having been thinking of going back since we ate there. My wife ordered the fish and pork tacos and she was very happy but she was eyeing my burger...We saw a number of salads being delivered that looked awesome as well. Lots on the menu that looked good that we will be back to try. This is not really a family joint but if you come for lunch or early dinner it's fine.

I guess you can't go wrong with butter, oil and cream! But the food was super tasty and different as in creative and interesting. The little tacos and little baos were great. Just a couple of them and a side of elotes was plenty of food. Eating outside was great and the inside is tastefully decorated. No wonder it's busy all the time. Awesome place!

What a great find in Andersonville. The crab cake, burger, shrimp and grilled romaine salad and of course the mixologist Troy turned our afternoon upside down. The service was great. We ate at the bar and enjoyed the exhilarating atmosphere. Definitely plan to revisit very soon.

Great signature cocktails (try the Diamonds and Rust) give way to fantastic upscale food. Green curry mussels, brussel sprouts, asian buns and the old "burger philosophy" old school burgers. Try 'em all, and a taco or 2. Small so get their early for a seat!

We visited on a Saturday night - got there early and it was packed! We were seated at the last table at the bar (they take no reservations, so either arrive early or be prepared to wait) For food we shared the Mac and cheese (really good!), a small portion of jumbo prawns which was the perfect size and came with a delicious horseradish Bloody Mary sauce, fried Brussel sprouts and my favourite - battered avocado with elote corn - a true taste sensation! Then for drinks, we had a few local craft beer, a few cocktails and a couple of Old fashioned whiskey's. Sitting at the bar gave us great one on one service from the attentive bartenders - nothing was too much for them and it had a real party vibe. As long as you don't mind people queuing behind you for drinks whilst eating, I recommend sitting here when a party of 2. Can't recommend enough - a real highlight of our Chicago trip and for what we had, reasonably priced too.

I am a sort of beer enthusiast and found this place to be phenomenal. The cheese board was the best cheese board I've ever had in my life and 100% worth the $26 dollars. The crab cake and lumbia lifted my spirits for the rest of the night. I can't put into works how delish this restaurant was or how impressed I am.

Loud and open neighborhood cocktail spot. Great gastropub type fair and cocktails with some local twists and charm. Bar is really cramped, but table are nice. Some are sat community style, but the vibe is fun and playful.

Went here with my husband and son. Immediately loved the vibe here!! Black walls and ceiling, cool vintage chandeliers, Toulouse letreque inspired large paintings, a large table we shared with 2 other couples made from reclaimed woods. And the food was delicious!! Husband got a delicious burger which was a tad greasy, my son and I got 2 tacos each which were very flavorful and tasty! We tried the chicken, fish and pork ones. Highly recommend them!! Also had the elites which were spicy, and guac and chips which were really good. They also have a huge selection of beer!! Highly recommend this place!

My son likes to track "top reviewed" places to eat. On a long road trip from Boston to Chicago this was a spot we wanted to try- we loved it! The signature burger(s) was so juicy, with nice fries and a craft beer. The staff (including the chef) were all very friendly and attentive. You will not be disappointed!

There were six of us eating different roots. Good food and good service. We tried salads, sliders, burgers, tacos and bao buns. Everything was to your liking! There was a very generous beer list and wine that suited several. We ended up in a boring place and tried to change tables when it became available. It was unfortunately rejected. Very high noise due to music. Otherwise cozy environment!

If you want an extensive selection of alcohol, this is the place. If you need food with your alcohol, there are tasty options and you won't have 8 pages of options to look over. Plus, it's easy to split something and have plenty to eat. If you want a conversation, get it all out while you wait outside for a table because it's NOISY. There are some nice benches at the corner and it's a fun location. Service was a bit slow, but nice enough.

I enjoyed the food, especially the seared Brussels sprouts. I loved the community tables. The burger was fabulous. The only food part I did not like was that they use "American Cheese." If you look at the package you see it listed as cheese food. They cannot call it cheese because it is only 51% or more cheese and the rest is oil. That is why it is slick and melts so well. I want cheese. They have an extensive whiskey list that is very impressive and the servers are good and fun. The customers seem very friendly. I had an hour chat with a wonderful couple. They made the place magical for me. It turned out that he is a poet and she a singer.

A little different. Nice atmosphere in rear dining area. Food not memorable other than it wasn't awful. Good service. very darkly lit. I would actual give 3.5 stars. Nothing bad, nothing special.

The sliders are excellent. The guacamole is excellent. The fresh, warm corn tortilla chips are excellent. The Mac n cheese is the best I’ve ever had. The staff were excellent. The music was excellent. Overall, if I had one word to describe this place, it would be ‘pretty goddamn good’

Best burger in Chicago. Great fried chicken. Asian steamed buns are killer. Great craft beer selection. Go there, no question

Went w friends on Friday night at 6:30. The place is small and was packed. We had an hour wait and stood by the bar in the way of the bar staff. They never made us feel like we were in the way (which we clearly were) and got us drinks while we waited on our table. Once seated we ordered tuna poke and fried jumbo shrimp, both were delicious! For our dinners we ordered sliders, bad burger and wolf burger...all exceeded expectations. Worth the wait and recommend highly.

Always liked the burgers at Burger Philosophy and was sad to see it closed. The same company was in fact rethinking and remodelling the restaurant now open as Bad Little Wolf. BLW now has a bar and table service and an up-graded menu. (The burgers are still great.) BLW is a great addition to the north end of Andersonville.

Our son who lives in Andersonville took six of us to Little Bad Wolf for lunch, highly recommending the hamburgers there. I had the bad burger, with an added egg, and it was among the best (if not the best) burger that I have ever had. Even the fries, not over-salted as many restaurants serve, were great. I was impressed by the number of beers available, and since I have a preference for sours, I ordered an Alabaster peach sour ale from Odious Brewing, a local Chicago brewery, which really complimented my meal. Everyone in our group really enjoyed our lunch (burgers), and we even took one for a seventh member of our family, who did not accompany us. Service was excellent!

I'm so glad LBW is in my neighborhood. I have eaten here numerous times and have always had great food and pleasant service whether it be from the hostess, server or bartender. This place pairs quality food that isn't fussy with great people and nice atmosphere...my hope is that they take over the closed Subway next door! You can't really go wrong with the menu. My favorites are the Boas...SOO GOOD. If you're not in the mood for those, you can't go wrong with the rest of the menu. The burgers are great as well.

Nice bar-restaurant. No fancy furniture, basis big tables were other people can join. Also possibly to sit individual (2) or at the bar. Food we had was very good cooked. Service is good. Recommend this place

Went to this neighborhood restaurant yesterday with daughter...food outstanding!!! Drinks very different and atmosphere "hip" and hayed back. I can't talk enough about the food...the sliders the tacos ALL just great. Will be going back soon

Nice place to check out, very cozy atmosphere and a great cocktail and beer menu. The food was great, I recommend both the chicken or the steak frites. I also recommend the lumpia as well. I would've given it 5 stars, just wish there menu had more choices and wished they picked up the phone when I called them beforehand to ask them questions

Burger was excellent. Baos were delicious. Tacos were good. Will definitely return. Would recommend a craft cocktail.

Came here on a Monday 4ish. Four of us. We all got different entrées. Everyone enjoyed our meals. Huge beer selection, The waiter (Kyle) was wonderful. We ate outside. Not bad prices . We’ll be back next tome in Chicago.

This place is near my son's apartment and I have wanted to try it forever. It has a small, inviting patio and the interior is very appealing and just my style. The staff was friendly but not invasive or annoying; just right. You could eat cheaply here by just ordering the mac and cheese or a salad. But of course we all wanted a beverage or two and I ordered half the menu, just to try the sides. The corn was almost too spicy for me to eat, but had a lot of flavor. Unfortunately, the deep fried avocados were flavorless. They could have used a dipping sauce or some seasoning in the batter. My steak wasd perfectly cooked at medium rare, except for a portion in the middle that was raw. Even if you order MR as a rule, hanger steak (or skirt) that is grilled should be ordered medium. Lesson learned. The fries were perfect. The mac and cheese was what you want it to be, creamy, cheesey and delicious. My husband, who loves a lot of food, was happy with his chopped salad. The Brussels sprouts were good, but they needed to be served in a large enough dish to get down to the glaze, which was ll in the bottom of the small, deep bowl. Ask for an extra plate to put them on so you can get to the sauce. I think I loved my hand squeezed lemonade best of all.

Very fun little bar, was surprised by how small the place was, and how enormous the beer and whiskey selection was! And speaking of big, food portion sizes here are huge as well. I ordered the sliders with a Mac and cheese side, and got 3 almost regular size burgers and a meal sized Mac & Cheese! My 18 year old son ordered the Mac & cheese meal, which has all kinds of taste goodies in it, and he couldn't even eat half of it! All he food we ordered was excellent! We will definitely come back next time we are in town and try some different beers and entrees!

Great service. All the food was really good. Go for a burger. The French fries are the best. The place is a little expensive, but I will go back. The only thing I did not like is that they charge a service fee if you use a credit card. With tip it was $180.00 and that included only three beer, 2 appts., 3 burgers and one entree. However, I will go back.

Little Bad Wolf describes itself as a gastropub. What is a gastropub? Also called a gastrolounge or gastrobar, a term coined in the 1990s, it is a hybrid pub, bar and restaurant that serves high quality food, beer and wine. If that's true, then Little Bad Wolf is a genuine gastropub. Located at 1541 West Bryn Mawr Avenue, at Clark Street, in Chicago's Andersonville neighborhood, is offers comfort food, more than 100 beers, whiskey, wine and cocktails. My wife and I don't drink alcohol but we love to indulge in the high quality food. Open from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. Monday through Friday, from 11 to 3 a.m. on Saturday and 11 to midnight on Sunday, it is a popular gathering place with a glitzy decor complete with chandeliers and wood paneling and museum-like artwork. We came for the food. After all, the burgers are touted among the best in the city. We started with a half-pound of jumbo fried shrimp. My wife chose pan seared whitefish with bacon on onion hash, sauteed spinach and spicy butter sauce with mashed potatoes and bacon gravy. Whitefish is one of the tastiest fish of all. I couldn't resist one of the house's specials, the Wolf Burger, three hamburger patties with bacon, American cheese, onion straws, house-made pickles, red onion/mayo and fried egg with fries. Talk about a Super Burger.

No reservations taken but went early….no place to wait that is comfortable but rather crammed in at bar or stand up table. Food is great. Service is good food is great. Burgers are very good with solid fries. Had a salad and they are big and wonderful.

Return visit and always reliable. Seating was quick and service crisp. Waldorf salad with chicken has always been a favorite. Still great. Hefty portions. Sliders and fries were very tasty.

The food and atmosphere was very good. We waited for over an hour when we were told 30-45 minutes, but other than that we had a good time and actually went back our last day there. The inside of the restaurant is dark and the music is rather loud. Just a heads up.

Not a bad restaurant to visit, just off Clark. After about a 1.2 mile walk, I ordered some lumpia (a different twist, the meat was more shredded than traditional lumpia, but still delicious) and the steak tacos (basically 2 saucer-sized tortillas with a bit of meat and vegetables on them), but the portions were quite adequate for me after that walk. It's an intimate environment, not terribly big, the bar is about a quarter the size of the number of tables in the restaurant. They do have an extensive wine list as well as hard liquor, but neither one were my "cup of tea", so to speak", during my stay. I would return if I had a craving for that lumpia, for sure.

After watching reviews of Little Bad Wolf on a local Chicago TV show, we decided to give it a try. The reviewers were right...The food was delicious! We started with the chips, guacamole & salsa which was really good. The chips are homemade and we couldn't stop eating them. Then we ordered fish tacos which were pretty tasty because it was actually real fried fish and not like "beer battered" fish. I also ordered a Little Wolf Burger with fries ...Hands down one of the juiciest burgers I've had in a long time. Besides the great food, the atmosphere was great and our server was pretty cool! He had great energy and personality along with the rest of the staff. Our server also gave us great drink recommendations (Blueberry mojito & Blueberry margarita). It is a small establishment so I'm glad we went on a Sunday afternoon because it wasn't super crowded. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed it and will definitely be going back!!!

My goal was to get some good food prior to my international flight. I had a chop salad and it was great. The staff is super friendly and there is a very nice atmosphere! I would come back!

The first time we visited Little Bad Wolf, we came for the burgers. We were impressed. But we didn't know how good the burgers were until we recently read a magazine article that touted Little Bad Wolf's Bad Burger as one of the 10 best burgers in Chicago. So we decided to taste some of the top 10 to see if they are as good as advertised. Well, upon further review, we think Little Bad Wolf's Bad Burger belongs on any top 10 list. Located at 1541 West Bryn Mawr Avenue, at North Clark Street, in the Andersonville neighborhood, Little Bad Wolf is a self-styled gastropub that serves upscale bar food from 11 a.m. to midnight daily. It has three burgers on the menu--Little Burger, Bad Burger, Wolf Burger. The Little Burger amounts to three sliders with American cheese, house-made pickles and mayo. Whether you prefer a Wolf Burger or a Bad Burger depends on your appetite and ambition. The Wolf Burger consists of three beef patties, American cheese, onion straws, pickles, bacon and a fried egg. I prefer the Bad Burger with two beef patties, two slices of American cheese, pickles and mayo. We started by sharing a half-pound of jumbo fried shrimp and a Caesar salad with Romaine lettuce, garlic croutons, parmesan cheese and traditional Caesar dressing. For an entree, my wife chose the pan seared sea trout with bacon onion hash, sauteed spinach and spicy butter sauce with a side of mashed potatoes and bacon gravy. As for the bar scene, Little Bad Wolf features over 100 beers, whiskey, specialty cocktails, ales, lagers, stouts, ciders and wine.

Ordered the chop salad with chicken , beautiful HUGE Salad, enough for 3 to share, crispy veges, just enough dressing , perfect! Also a side of Mac n cheese, so tasty , think cheese with hint of bacon , and crispy bread topping . Highly recommend , service was friendly and smart.

This spot was great, the atmosphere was comfy and inviting. The the burgers were amazing. Definitely will come again.

Uff da! Delicious burger and a plethora of beer choices! This has to be a stop on your Chicago visit as the food is great!

We stopped for dinner on a Saturday night, The staff(owner) did everything to get us a table outside quickly (< 10 min). The menu is different, and the food is excellent as was the service! Can't wait to return!

If you like great craft beer this is the place. Also the Burgers were great. I had the beer with the mango and another with tangerine, loved them both

If you like juicy burgers with American cheese melted over the top and salty French fries this is the place. Free refills on the sodas.

With its overwhelming lists of beer, cider, mead, sours, wines and inventive cocktails, it's hard to know where to begin, because the food is so outstanding. The burgers are classic, and conveniently come in three sizes: Little, Bad and Wolf. The bun is light and airy, and unlike so many other burgers between bread, this one stays together! It would be remiss of me not to talk about other delectibles on the menu. This is one of those places that you keep returning to in order to get through the entire menu, in the name of research! The grilled romaine salad was so delicious that I recreated it the next evening for a dinner party! WIth each kudo, I encouraged everyone to go to the source. Lightly doused in a perfect vinaigrette, a head of romaine is sliced vertically in half, with its heart holding it together. It's grilled, and cherry tomatoes, sweet corn and gorgonzola are scattered atop. Bitter, savory, a little sweet... just perfect. My quaff, "Afternoon Delight" was deeply satisfying. I'm going to keep going back to this gem! Oh, and the art on the walls is exquisite. I went this time to reward myself after a grueling evening Pilates class: another good thing -- the kitchen is open late, and it's very close to my health club!

Tried it late on a weekday night on recommendation from another Andersonville local and loved it. Great cocktails, wine list and yum the tacos and Asian buns were great. Definitely going back for more.

I’ve been to little bad wolf probably once or twice a month in the last two years. It’s got the best food and some great staff. Best burger in Chicago, bar none. I tried going in twice this week, so writing this as a result of those. 1) If you’re service industry, don’t hold them to schedule. Got off work early one night and was super excited to get in time for a bite. Got there 45 minutes before close, they said last call already past. Happens, sucks. 2) Have done takeout from here sometimes twice a week. Got there and same guy from 45 minute last call says no to go. Happens. Sucks. Things are changing, so if you’ve been here and made it a place to be, it’s probably different within the last month. Luckily they can seat more people, just feels like they’re ditching top tier, neighborhood experience for volume.

After doing some light shopping at Alchemy Arts just three blocks east of here I was DYING to see what all the fuss was about regarding this cute restaurant. It was only 5pm on a late Saturday afternoon but every table was already taken so I was directed to the host who took me to a group of standing tables and he assured me that because I came here solo he'd be able to find me a communal table immediately. My waitress was eager to make recommendations to me once I decided on selecting their least expensive burger option for $14. She suggested I upgrade my side of complimentary fries for a side of their special macaroni and cheese side for $3.50 but the fries honestly looked do decadent that I opted for fries. Besides I intend to come back here next month do I have plenty of time to try their decadent macaroni and cheese dish which seems to be a popular choice here for most of the diners. They don't have rootbeer or milkshakes here though but they did prepare me a delicious cherry coke with grenadine syrup so I was pretty happy regardless. My burger was greasy but extremely juicy and because it was juicy my bun definitely fell apart in my hands but the taste was intoxicating and the crunchy fries in a wire basket were absolutely delicious. Everyone dining here at my communal table were thoroughly enjoying themselves and so the overall good vibes, tasty food and friendly staff made this a playful dining experience which I'll definitely repeat!
Loved the experience
I was in town visiting some friends. Had my first experience with my friend. Food was amazing and I loved the vibe and drinks. Would definitely visit again.
