Cook should not cut fresh fruit after cutting onions. Napkin would be nice. Atmosphere very nice. Desserts nothing special.

Was looking for a place to meet up with 14 friends. Little Rhien Prost Haus was a great choice. The location is right on the Riverwalk. We didn't eat but we did have some great drinks. Great location and vibe.

Ended up here when restaurant we wanted was closed for a private party. We were not disappointed. Waiter was great. Engaging and enthusiastic. Plenty of selections for drinks. Nachos were good, but Reuben Egg Rolls were fantastic. Too much food for us to even order entrees.

Nice location on the river but did not have a big German food menu. We ended up getting a large pretzel and some chicken wings ( not very German) they do have Dunkel beer which was nice.

Visited on a Monday night around 7pm. The restaurant was packed full. There were a couple of tables in side but hadn’t been cleaned so we opted to sit outside. In the main part of the restaurant it was far too hot so we definitely didn’t want to sit inside there. We were the only ones outside with it being cold that evening and kind of felt forgotten about because apparently there was only two servers. One came out and he was super nice and helpful and took our orders. After that service was great and although it was cold it felt great outside. We had a tower of food and some beers. Would definitely visit there again!

OMG! We would definitely come back here. The food was amazing, the atmosphere perfect and the host so helpful. Lukas was our server and i can't say enough about how attentive and personable he was. There are tons of restaurants in the area but we would definitely return here!

Live music was amazing ! Drinks were awesome ! Food was great , I expected high prices and small portions for the riverwalk but this place surprised me and it was great !

We wanted a change from TexMex and read where this restaurant was very good. It was! We ordered the Tower with Sausage, Veg and Pretzel. It was all wonderful. We did not like the potato salad but that was because we don't like onion. The rest of the tower was split between two people and we were absolutely stuffed. The restaurant also has a great selection of draft beer. Service was very good and very friendly. We will return.

We enjoyed the giant pretzels, the beer and the music. My husband got one of the German entrees and I got a salad. The ambiance is really unique and fun. The live music in the background provided a nice ambiance too.”

Spent a lovely afternoon here, beer and food was great, looked after very well, nice German touch to get us in the mood for the Rammstein gig..

Live music great atmosphere kind staff. The kraut balls were taste. Large selection of beer and bourbon. Indoor, outdoor and bar seating. Limited German selection but everything was cooked to perfection.

Went in about 5 pm. They weren’t very busy- lots of open tables that were sit yourself. Picked the least wobbly and least dirty table. Sat and waited. And waited. Over 15 minutes and we weren’t even recognized as being there. Walked and spent our money elsewhere in a place that wanted our business.

I enjoyed my visit to Little Rhein during a conference trip. Visited when they opened at 11am on a Saturday. From Cincinnati, where we have the Hofbrauhaus, I love checking out other bier gardens. I loved the tiered terrace for people watching. The menu was a unique mash up of German & Tex-Amex. My waiter was so kind and hospitable.

A great spot on the Riverwalk, the terracing means lots of views of the river, boats, people etc. Live music to entertain, great Steins of beer to wash down giant Pretzels, what's not to like! We liked it all so much we visit numerous times over 4 days.

The Little Rhein Prost Haus goes from street level all the way down to the Riverwalk with cut out terrace levels. There is a bar at the top with a large courtyard and the time we were there we sat overlooking the Riverwalk at night with thousands of colored lights lighting up the hillside. In for just drinks we went with a good Altstadt Hefeweizen and enjoyed the Riverwalk scenery as well as the evening musician. What a great atmosphere.

When in San Antonio i like staying on riverwalk. The Prost haus has great acoustic music outside and i enjoy the outside bar. The sausage platter was great. It does seem like everytime i stop by here when in town, they just run out of German Dunkel style beer though!

While wandering the Riverwalk, we decided to have dinner here. They had live music and a good variety of German food options. Food was great, as was the service. The sausage paddles are a great way to sample a few items. Definitely recommended.

Food was ok, but service was bad. Server spent a lot of time talking with the bartender. We had to keep asking for things over and over.

This was a nice spot to enjoy watch people along the River Walk and have a beer or wine. The outdoor seating was perfect for an evening. We ordered the pretzel which was enormous...ask for extra mustard and cheese for dipping. The reuben egg rolls were also a hit. Good beer options.

searching out our best viewing for the mardi gras parade, we happened upon this fun place for a beer and snack. Perfect on all points. The outdoor dining is on terraces overlooking the river and right by the outdoor entertainment area We enjoyed a couple of pints and pretzel (giant) with cheese while enjoying the pre parade concert next door (across the river). Our server, Arianna was new to her job and did a spot on job taking care of us. We arrived shortly after a brief downpur and she even had the chairs and table dry and ready for guests. The Warsteiner was a little heavy for our tastes but here again was the delicious Alamo Golden Ale, very texas for Germany. There was a country music artist preforming but unfortunately the concert venue drowned him out for the most part. Would be nice either way. Good time!!

The location and atmosphere were fantastic! However, the food was awful and the German beer selection was lacking. The was a severe lacking of "German" food on the menu. We ordered Jägerschnitzel and Chicken Tenders. Both were not very good. There was no "Oktoberfest" beer and the choice was Bittburger or Warsteiner, not good choices for German bier.

Well, the door greeter during the day chatting to us made us drop in for dinner. I order the schnitzel with sides. The schnitzel colder than my beer! Tasted microwaved for 10secs and was tough as nails. Totally disappointed, especially at that price point. Plenty better around…. Stroll past!

Scoped out this place as a good lunch stop after our morning at The Alamo and before we started the Riverwalk. We stopped in around Noon on a Friday and seated ourselves in the small indoor dining room. Only a couple of other tables were taken, with a solo person at each. I will start with my only negative - the initial odd smell was a bit off-putting. Kind of like sticky diner mixed with my grandma's closest of old clothes. Not sure what it was, but everything else made up for it. Our server, Krissy, was a delight. Very friendly, willing to suggest her favorites (and why they were her favorites) and efficient, despite being the only server we saw. We asked for a beer menu, which is extensive - my husband chose one of his favorites that is hard to find on tap. Started with the sauerkraut balls and there were fantastic - slightly creamy, studded with chunks of pork, and a great mustardy dipping sauce. Six good size pieces were a great deal. My son ordered the kids chicken fingers and couldn't finish it all - large pieces of chicken and planks of well seasoned skin-on fries. My husband and I both did the sausage paddles - a sampler of sausages (priced based on how many you get), along with a warm soft pretzel, cool German potato salad, warm bacon-cabbage and spicy, zingy pickled veggies. We agreed the Nuremberg sausage wheels were our favorite, but the polish sausage and knockwurst were also excellent. The pickled veggies were addictive! Both sides were also very good. Neither of us could quite finish the plate of food - it was a great deal. There is more seating outside than in, and the patio is beautiful - but despite it being well shaded by trees, it was just too darn hot for us to sit out there. Overall, a great meal with great service. Excellent pricing. We'll be back!

Prost Haus is along the Riverwalk. The nice thing about this restaurant is that the seating area is tiered, such that just about every seat gets a great view of the river. Our server was friendly and efficient, and our food was quite good. They also had a singer performing when we were there. It was a fun atmosphere.

I was attending a work conference in San Antonio. My colleagues and I attended two vendor functions, both held at Prost, before heading to dinner at Boudro’s. Prost is a Bavarian restaurant and bar housed in a mid-19th century rock building located on the Riverwalk between La Villita and the Hilton Palacio del Rio. The interior architecture is a charming throwback to bars past. Prost is also host to an amazing outdoor terrace patio bar overlooking the Riverwalk. The patio features a nightly lineup of local bands and DJs and giant Texas-sized Jenga blocks and other games. If that wasn’t enough fun, the Prost also houses the Alchemy Lounge, a speakeasy-style space featuring innovative cocktails. Function guests were treated to a catered variety of Prost starters and Happy Hour specials, including Prost Wings, Deviled Eggs, Prost Chili Cheese Fries, Reuben Egg Rolls, Fried Pickles, Mozzarella Sticks, Fried Mushrooms, and Onion Rings. We also ordered a round (or two) of margaritas. The beverages were solid, but definitely on the strong side. Service was on the slow side; however, there were two large vendor functions and other patrons, so the bar was understandably slammed. I look forward to visiting on a less busy evening in San Antonio to fully soak up the patio vibes.

Had lunch on the patio overlooking the river. A great place to enjoy a beer and some good German sausages. Service was great and the German potato salad was outstanding.

Super recommended on the Riverwalk, super atmosphere, delicious food, not expensive, super friendly, the view loved it. 100% come back.

Yes!!! This is a great place!!! German food at its best. We had the Sausage Paddle with two sausages. It was large enough for us two and probably could have served 3. other than the sausage it also has a huge pretzel, potato salad, pickled veggies, mustard, and bacon cabbage. great location not to be missed. sit in the bier garten area up top where live music is playing or on any of the levels with river views as well as inside the old house at the top. always wanted to eat here when it was a steak house so imagine my surprise when we were visiting the area to see it is now a german place!!! you must eat here! Many germans settled in texas so this is the other texan food that you must have while in SA!!! Raeleen was our server and she was the best ever!

Good restaurant with fun atmosphere right in the river walk. Had a giant pretzel for a snack and some drinks. It was seat yourself and we had to wait a few minutes to get a table.

Six of us were seated by Andre who showed us to our table. Good start. On being seated we asked if the beer on the table could be cleaned up. 15 minutes approx went by and he just walked pass our table. This time I asked him again if he could wipe the table. Another 10 min. passed and no table wiped, no order for drinks ? I went to see if he was still on shift to find him talking at the bar. It was obvious that he had no intention of serving us and this has cost his employer at least $400+ bill. ( Plus his tip ) After the 25 minutes + of waiting for a response we left and eat at a restaurant that was only to happy to serve us. I would like to rate this restaurant more than ONE but we didn't even get to taste their wine & beer.

Went for a sponsored event. Passable we’re tasty & well prepared, and the buffet was ample. Good beer selection, and waitstaff was friendly & helpful.

We had a 6pm reservation. We were told to pick our seats. After waiting 15 minutes for a waitress, we placed our order and waited over an hour for mediocre food. They were also out of the pretzel and potato salad. Very disappointing. I’ll never go back.

Live music entirely too loud for us to eat and converse. Why is it that performers don’t understand that it’s louder in front of them than it sounds to them? But the service was great. Food good and came out quickly.

Tried the Reuben You would think this would be a staple of a German restaurant. It was good - but not great. The corn beef was hard. The real zinger was this pair of guys who provided live entertainment playing guitars and singing. They may be great guys - but are really bad at singing. Loud and twangy.

poor transition from the prior elegant steakhouse very basic cooking with no German flavour disappointment in a very disappointing environment

Just average food. Looks much better in the menu pictures. More suited to a road diner than a restaurant in such nice location

Sunday evening after a period of rain we stopped in for dinner, the place was fairly empty but our server was on point and the gentleman playing music was excellent - think his name may have been Austin. We tried several things on the menu and weee happy with all them. Portions were large - we all walked away stuffed. Only wish we could have sat on the patio over looking the canal.

What a pleasant surprise! We found this place one evening along the riverwalk, it wasn't crowded, Nate de Leon and Vinny Tovar were playing GREAT music and Idalia was a fantastic server at our table. I could stay there all night! Would definitely go back!!

We skipped breakfast so we could come here for lunch. They have a fabulous menu of food and a diverse menu of biers and wine. The bartender, Briana was fabulous. Friendly and helpful with our selections. She was fabulous! Give her a raise!

I have zero bad things to say about this place. It's right on the riverwalk. We ate outside on the terrace, and although I made a reservation (it was three days before the total eclipse), we didn't really need one and had a choice of tables on the terrace. We were full and tipsy from a day of snacking and drinking, so we only had appetizers and dessert and husband and I shared a drink. The beer menu looked enticing, and I'm sure everything was great. It was a very neat place with a welcoming atmosphere.

We were so looking forward to our dinner. We enjoy the cuisine of Middle Europe and for German kitchen schnitzels are the staple. Schnitzels are prominently featured in the menu of Prost. Cannot understand why the chef couldn’t have sent someone to the closest supermarket to get the ingredients. We were disappointed and heard the same from our friends whom we saw in this restaurant.

If you are looking for a place to chill, with perhaps large beers, on the Riverwalk in San Antonio, this is it! The space is layered so you are off the main walking area but affords a great view of the Riverwalk and all the people, while staying out of the traffic. Service over (no judging) 3 visits was great! We had small beers, large beers and the sausage platter as well as the chopped salad. Great stuff. A perfect place to hang out while cruising the Riverwalk!! One of my favorite places on the Paseo del Rio for sure!!

Went here with family for lunch. Food was good. Service was not. Our waitress started out OK, but was hungover and got lost numerous times during our visit. The pretzel appetizer was tasty. Chicken Schnitzel club was good. Burgers were also good.

Right on the Riverwalk and a cute place to eat outside. Service was friendly. The food was not bad but also nothing great. The Reuben sandwich was somewhat tasty; however the meat was dry. The same with the burger- nothing special and it was a bit bland. Was hoping for better quality food.

Busy evening along riverwalk lead us to eat inside instead of terraced patio. Texas shaped waffle and chicken was good. Chicken batter a little over cooked but waffle light and nice. Alchemy bar specialty is dry iced cocktail drinks all varieties 15-25$ each. Attentive barman. Just beside Hilton hotel for travelers. Braut dog and fries and kraut very tasty according to my spouse.

We have been visiting San Antonio for over 20 years and were dismayed to find the Little Rhein Steakhouse has been turned into a second rate beer hall. For years this place as been a "happy place" to walk by and visit on the riverwalk. Not anymore. Just a sad and expensive place in my opinion. Absolutely no ambience anymore. Such a cool place that has been turned into a joke. Not sure who they are catering too? That part of the riverwalk is normally quiet and the steakhouse was the perfect compliment to this area. Will not return.

The staff was super friendly but the food wasn't great. How could a German restaurant run out of pretzels?? My wings were cold.

I wish we had found this place sooner! We were walking the river walk on our last day in San Antonio. It was a Sunday, around 11am or so. We had seen it from our boat tour and walked up to the host who was out on the river walk. They had live music, $4 mimosas and lots of outdoor seating with great views of the riverwalk! I wish we had found it sooner!!

What a perfect setting on a terraced portion of the famous San Antonio River Walk. There is a large seating area on the main patio and more seating on each of the terraces leading down to the river. Great views of the river boats and people strolling the sidewalk. I think there's live music everyday. You name the cocktail or beer and they will probably have it and for those people that need or want souvenirs, they can serve that drink in a take home cup. Daily drink specials include 1/2 liters of certain beers and drinks for $5. The food menu is expansive, but as we were wanting to sit, sip and nibble at a few places along the river, we opted to try the server recommended, soon to be famous Kraut Balls appetizer ($11.95). Yes, six balls made of sauerkraut and pork sausage, breaded and fried, served with a mustard sauce. They were great and especially good with one of the German biers that I enjoyed. After sunset, they light up the trees and terraces and create a really cool place. Great food, drink, views and people watching. Go visit.

We try to eat local while traveling. No chain restaurants especially if we have them in our state. The only steak they had was $36 and it was just ok nothing special. It was 12oz so I shared with my son but no rolls or salad. Husband had a cheeseburger and it was just ok as well. The deviled eggs was good but there was only 5 for $10. Staff was friendly and helpful.

The food and atmosphere are not very authentic. Was a bit disappointed in the Jaeger Schnitzel; it was just OK.
Nice Location
Perfect patio spot for enjoying the Riverwalk. The pretzels are huge and the drinks were cold. We enjoyed mimosas, but the beer was flowing at other tables. We had a terrific waitress who was very attentive to our table. The live music was a bonus!
