Just delicious!!

By Laura C |

If you are at miami, you have to visit Lokal! It's located at a really calm street, the service is really nice and the food crazy good! Different kinds of beer, good fries and sweet desserts, 100% recommended. If you like to go out with your dog just sit outside and you can choose from a small menu so your dog and you can eat together. If you order the frita don't hesitate and order it with the guava jelly. I would totally go back!

Fresh and delicious!

By Susan G |

We really appreciate and like to support businesses that use local ingredients and Lokal does just that. Happily, the restaurant and food does not disappoint. We had a variety of menu items from a burger to chicken and waffles to the tomato and blue cheese salad, it all was very good. Very fresh and well prepared. The décor is interesting and their commitment to recycling and upcycling is evident in all the artwork, lighting and tables.

Best burgers in Miami

By SD1 |

Went to LoCal with my cousins, plenty of parking a little further up the street and plenty of valet parking. Without a doubt the best burger I’ve had, much better than Nusr-et and half the price. Service was great none of that bothering you and trying to be overly nice. Planning to go back one more time before we fly back.

Local yummy!

By wak925 |

Went there for Valentines...was looking for something nice but not over the top. Read the menu and reviews and was excited to try it out. The service was awesome and the ambiance was so cool! We ate outside as the weather was nice. Waitress was friendly and and explained the concept behind the food and where things came from...all local. I ended up with burger which was awesome and my husband for the chicken and waffles...some of the best friend chicken I have ever tasted! After dinner, we went next door to the milkshake shop (that's connected to the restaurant by a telephone booth) and it was like going through a time machine...such cool vintage artifacts and the milkshake was delicious. Great date night or place to take the family.

Mmmmmm.....Burger

By JSuth2000 |

Wow! I really loved Lokal Burgers. We went on the advice of a friend for lunch and luckily we were seated at the last available high top table to avoid a wait. The place was hopping! Good beer selection but most importantly the burgers were as advertised and oh so good! We went on the recommendation of the waitress and she suggested two different burgers that were popular and my wife and I were able to share a few bites of each one. I want to come back and try some other stuff too, as they had cool things on the menu that were not burger oriented but saw them coming out of the kitchen and they looked delicious!

My new #1 favorite Burger Restaurant in Miami

By customboard |

For 8 years I've been a loyal visitor of another burger joint in Miami and in this trip our friends have brought us here and it definitely is much better than my old #1. I can definitely recommend to go, I've now went twice within two weeks and ordered the "Lokal" burger and both times, it got me excited. My wife had twice the "Classis" but the second time she ordered without the sauce, and she liked it much better than the first time. So if you're like my wife and don't really like sauces in your burger then order without. The "Lokal" burger comes without sauce which is also what I prefer.

I'm definitely impressed

By Joseph G |

I seriously can tell that the meals are yummy and the customer service is good. I tried alligator strips and it was tasty. I also ordered lime pie and it was average. My visit here was interesting. I will come back.

Everything is perfect 👌

By Fabienne C |

The service is warm, we immediately bring you fresh water with ice cubes, nice attention (paying in the US). The waiter (who is perhaps also the boss) takes the time to explain what we are asking, insists on the composition whether drinks or dishes so that there are no misunderstandings. The various burger recipes are original, the provenance and the number of miles to source the products are indicated. I came because I had read a nice eulogy about this restaurant in a guide on Miami, I was not disappointed 😋 The dish was excellent, fries, potatoes as well, there is choice in the burger side dishes, it is rare! Amazing homemade dessert, brownie with ice cream and crispy bacon, a savoury sweet treat! 🧑‍🍳 Very good address 👍

Fine burger and Key Lime pie to die for!

By Life traveller |

When I waked into Lokal, I thought it might be a young person's place, as I was the oldest by a country mile. People nearer my age soon arrived, though. I ordered the Lokal burger, medium rare, with sweet potatoe fries. And for the first time in weeks, the juicy burger WAS medium rare! And really tasty. The Key Lime pie really was a treat, and when I left I was asked by neighbours what it was like - As excellent as it looked, I replied, and now I need to go and have a lie down! With two craft IPA beers, my bill was $45, before a tip. The waitresses were pleasant and efficient, and I really like the casual ambience of the place, although the food was anything but casual -top drawer! Defitiely recommeneded if you want a great burger in Coconut Grove.

Great local buger place

By Petra B |

Great place, great service, great food. From the moment we came in, everyone was super friendly and provided great service. The menu looks awesome with lots of interesting items. It also has a lot more than just burgers. I had the Miami Heat burger while my husband ate the Lokal burger. The combination of the Miami Heat burger is spicy and with time gets messy but definately good. I was too thrilled with the taste of my grain fed beef. My husband's burger had the grass fed beef and it definately tasted tons better. I mentioned thus to the server and who told me that any burger can be made with the grass fed beef so I would definately recommend that. For nit being too thrilled with my burger (which I still enjoyed but as much as my husband), the manager gave us a free slice of Key Lime Pie. I'm not a pie person but this was delish. You cpuld tell it was homemade. Really creamy Key Lime with not too much juice, homemade graham cracker crust. Totally yum. We will definately go back the next time we are in the mood for a burger. Pricewise its a little pricey. Definately not in the five guys range but slightly below other Grove/Gables pricing.

Very good food and service

By camillakc |

We got 3 different burgers and 1 salad and everything was super good! :) There was a mistake on the check but they corrected it with a smile! :)

The Best Burger in the area

Great Burger, great beer, great service! And don't forget the key lime pie for dessert! All in the village : Don't look further stop by and enjoy

Worth the hype.

By Jovanni B |

I've been hearing about Lokal for a bit now from friends and on social media. While on a staycation my wife and I decided to give it a shot. We were sat down immediately and within a few minutes our waiter greeted us. I had the Juan's Fidy-Fidy, which was exactly what I wanted. Man, that had to have been one of the best burgers I've had in a while. It's up there with Latin House. Also the sweet potato fries, which a lot of places get wrong, came out great! My wife ordered the The Classic and she also really enjoyed it. We both left stuffed. I am already spying our a day for when we can return!

Quick Service, Great Food, & Fun Environment

By Emily KT |

Our server was fantastic, caring, and quick. The atmosphere is family-friendly and quaint. We definitely will be back in when we come back to Coconut Grove. Be sure to check out the blast from the past - time machine. It’s definitely a blast from the past that will eventually take you back to the future.

Superb burgers and beer!

By Debbie R |

The burgers are really good! There is a nice selection of burgers to have, and similarly there is a great selection of beers. Unsure which beer to have, I chose one to taste and was given a small glass to try before ordering a full size one. Great service and great food!

Coconut Grove Gem

By 247rinae |

Burgers, Key Lime Pie, Oh My.... From fantastic Lokal brews, to farm to table deliciousness. The Lokal is a gem and Im so happy we tried it out on our trip to Miami, FL. Pros: Great service, friendly staff, best food (try Frita burger, chili, and the Key Lime Pie). Cons: Tight seating.. we could hear our neighbors in a normal voice tone. Price was pretty normal for that area, not out of line.

SuPERB!

By Pineapples-a-Plenty |

Took some family on their first trip to Miami to Lokal, and it could not have been a finer experience! Casual, but with a decidedly upscale feel. The service was friendly, and steady. The beer was amazing. The sixpoint resin (9.1% alcohol) was dizzingly delicious! The group had their Funky Buddha, and this got two thumbs up, too! As for the food, the chicken salad was excellent. The Chick Chop sandwich and the Miami Heat were both terrific!

Great burger!

By A2freqtrav |

Fun restaurant that lives up to its reputation. The burgers / sandwiches are good quality and great beer selection. If you are a tourist, pass on the alligator bites - think tough chicken - not worth the experience!

Delicious burgers!

By Courtney W |

This place was packed, and I know why. The food was excellent. Servers were friendly and the beer selection was great.

Make Lokals great again!

By Paul M |

I just wanted to start this review by stating I’ve been coming here since they open amazing burger but I’m sorry these price increases and 20% dine in mandatory tip and 10% mandatory tip are just not it any more the burgers are inconsistent and soggy when ordered for take out and I think $80 for 3 burgers is absolutely ridiculous let’s please talk some sense into these people they’ve ruined my favorite burger place and the service is 50/50 make sure to ask if you’re sitting at a community table before being seated

Great beer, awesome burger

By Luis L |

I went with my sisters to lokal as they were raving about the captain kush beer, they were right, the beer was strawberry infused and it was just what I wanted, they mentioned the guava/guayaba flavored one was even better but I think it's a seasonal thing. The burger was great, I ordered the Miami Heat(of course! Go Heat!) And it was great, served with mixed fries.

Local Beers

By Miamismith305 |

We went to Lokal the sister restaurant to Kush, which is a food venue that serves really good burgers and local beers, hoping to find similar quality; however, nothing we tasted there made a lasting impression on us. We will have to give it another chance next time since the place was crowded. It boasts an open-air area ideal to share with friends.

Good food

By Kimberly K |

Cool place, good food, and if your lucky you'll meet the restaurant cat named Local... she is a sweetheart

Great local bar and restaurant

By Christopher S |

Great burgers and great location in the heart of coconut grove. Walk through a phone booth (no joke) and you are transported back to the 70s...a milkshake bar styled like a 70s kitchen. The place is reasonably priced except those milkshakes. But damn they’re good.

Tasty and fun environment

By sengokujidai |

I specifically picked this place my first day in Miami because I wanted to fill the long held desire to try alligator. We took a 15 min train ride then walked for 20 min (which in retrospect was maybe not the safest choice) just to reach the restaurant. I liked the atmosphere and the air conditioning (which I discovered is really important in Miami in the summer). The menu is mostly burgers and sandwiches, plus deep fried gator. I got the gator and a sandwich and found both to be very tasty. Gator is a bit tough and tastes a bit like a cheap cut of beef (I don't mean that in a bad way). The Chick Chop sandwich was even better than the description. One thing to note, and the waitress does tell you about this, is that they serve some sort of special bottled water and they charge $1 a bottle for it (its a big bottle for the table). I can't remember the reason for this, but just be aware.

first time visit, will definitely be back

By ADH704 |

was recommended by the hotel I stayed in, I had the Juan 50/50 a really juicy, flavorful burger made with half beef and half pork/bacon. I also ordered the fried pickles that the young lady suggested and they were some of the best fried pickles I've EVER had.

just what i wanted

By Gerardo P |

the wife and I consider ourselves burger aficionados, so after several years of trying the top spots around town we've concluded that its going to be grass feed beef from now on or nothing. thus we tried Lokal for the first time this weekend....and were not disappointed. great friendly staff, cold local beer, and fantastic freshly ground grass feed, well grilled burgers. great spot to people watch right in the middle of the grove. this one is worth a return trip ..

Great food

By cbarney2003 |

Enjoy farm to table fresh food in a casual environment. The burgers were amazing. Come with multiple side choices. The roasted asparagus was perfection.

Terrible experience

By camillakc |

Everything was terrible. We waited 1 hour for our order and when the food came everything was cold! Service was also super slow!

Burgers!!

By RickShideler |

Lots of interesting beers and burgers. Great service. Love the venue. And views of the Grove locals from the sidewalk tables. Great people watching place.

Lokal Burgers

By islandnora |

Went for Sunday lunch and it was packed. Nice variety on the menu. We had a burger that had guava jam on it.....sounds strange but it was so good. Food and service were excellent.

Not just a really good burger

By BK2Philly2 |

Give a burger joint 5 stars? I must be crazy, right? Nope! Lokal has some of the best craft beers and burgers I've had anywhere. The place doesn't win any awards for ambiance but it's a burger and beer joint with reasonable prices and great food. I had what they call the fitty-fitty burger. All the meat is home grown (local to Florida) and this particular burger is 50% grass fed beef and 50% pork. It's delicious but not for the faint of heart. I can still feel my arteries hardening and I don't mind one bit! I had a couple of different craft beers and neither were disappointing. Overall, this one of the best burger spots I've been to and I've been to a lot. When you go to Lokal and trust me, you need to go, don't forget to walk through the "Time Machine". Nostalgia and good ice cream await you. Enjoy!

Eat here!!!

By Shelly M |

Wow!! We are here our first night in Miami and our kids asked if we could come back the next day! This was in a cool area with other trendy restaurants and shops. Great craft beer list. Service was on point. My husband and I split a burger (the one with blue cheese and bacon) and the chicken bahn mi. We did half regular and half sweet potato fries. Everything was excellent!

Love this place.

By Chelsea and Jer... G |

Every year we visit coconut grove and this is a staple. They always have a good selection of local beers(lots of IPA's) and the food is always spot on. Go for the Fidy-Fidy it's a must.

Trendy in the grove

By Brittany G |

Best burgers in Miami! The Frita with guava jelly and smashed is one of a kind! The Miami Heat was amazing also!! 🤤 I will definitely be back. The side options are fantastic and the meat is grass fed from Florida. Loved the atmosphere and service was spectacular! Gotta check this place out in Coconut Grove 😍🌴🍔

Must stop if in Coconut Grove

By PMR5511 |

Second time visiting in a few days. Here from chicago for vacation and I must say, these folks really know how to throw down a burger! Really fresh ingredients, creative flavors, solid service, and nice outdoor seating. My wife had he black bean burger and loved it, I had the Miami heat and it was definitely full of heat! You can tell that quality is a major value for this establishment. A must go if in the coconut grove area!

Solid burger with great people watching

By Michelle M |

We stopped by here on our way back to MIA after our trip to the keys. After eating so much seafood, both me and my husbands were craving a little red meat and this place did not disappoint. Short wait but they texted when our table was ready so we strolled around the area. Burger was great and large, my husband and I could have split but I loved you could get a salad instead of fires. The bun was perfect, look larger than I like but wasn't dense (nothing is worse than a burger you can fit in your mouth because of a ton of bread) and they "stamp" it with their logo. We did not realize it was in such a popular area, so parking was frustrating but after walking off our lunch I can see why... there is a TON of shopping right around the corner. They are pet friendly on the patio and even have pet treats out, how cute is that!! If ever back in MIA, I would return to grab a red meat fix!

Wow

By Hungry Guy |

We have to stop going here, which we've done half a dozen times...but the burgers are simply perfect! Fries pretty outstanding too, can't wait to go back

Delicious fried alligator

By HM2011ML |

I brought here my family to let them try fried alligator: they really liked it; it was very tender and tasty. The LoKal is a nice place to eat and spend few time; they serve Water in a charachteristic small glass jar. Also cheesburger and seafood appetizer are ok, but the LoKal Gator is a must here 😉

Small Portions

By cc_travelrev |

This place is pretty average, unfortunately. Burgers were good, fries are good. Just what you'd expect. Does have nice atmosphere. Beers were really small--usually you'd expect a pint, or about 12-16oz, but it was more like 6-8oz. I wouldn't have minded the price for an actual pint, but a small glass isn't worth it. Got a dip as well and there weren't enough chips to finish it. Just all pretty average, going to check somewhere else out for burgers next time.

my favourite burger in the whole wide world

By MMBAIA |

The family's favourite burgers ever. no more comment. Top notch food . It's just so delicious. the sweet potatoes fries are also out of this world and they have a very appetizing dog menu !

sad changes

By Karen M |

I too have been going to Lokal since they had the best burgers in town. Now I am sad to report that I bragged about the burgers to some friends so we had lunch there last week. Is there new management? Not only have the prices gone up to $17 a burger with NO fries. It comes with cole slaw, no fries or salad. Who eats a burger with cole slaw? Which forces you to spend another $4 for a burger and fries. The burger was undercooked, every time I order the burger is not cooked correctly. I had to send mine back and skipped lunch. Unfortunately due to unreasonable pricing and lowered quality, I will not return. Hopefully they will go back to the old Lokal but for now….:(

dinner

By Maximiliano Luis Sepúlveda |

First time here, and my son in law Sergio took me. Food is incredible, Service is amazing, and most amazing day because I got to meet my favorite gente de zona singer. Loved the atmosphere! Definitely a place I will go back to and hopefully run into this person

Best burger in Miami

By Ilaudj |

I just want to say that Lokal gave me the best burger experience during my stay in Miami. If it wasn't for Lokal i would have said that i ate average burgers in Miami but the Miami Blues burger that i ate was the bomb. Big enough, but not huge, the perfect size, the beat juicy but firm, with good thickness, perfect sauces that combine with the blue cheese and not least some crunchy bacon for flavour. Simply great! The sweet potato fries, very good and you have many beers to choose from. I will leave Miami in a few days and i am happy i went to Lokal. Will return in my next visit in Miami!!

Awesome bar - with amazing food!

By MDC |

Wow what a cool place! Super cozy little bar with some exceptional food. I had a burger that was done exactly to my liking. Sweet potatoe fries were great too. Beer selection was very good with some great local tastes. Atmosphere was awesome. The owner clearly has a little movie trivia fetish. You'll notice it on the menu and in the bar as well. I thought it was clever - and hilarious. I would absolutely recommend this place!

Best Restaurant in the Grove

By oyoda |

Found this restaurant in the Coconut Grove area and its great. At least once a week I go with friends for lunch. I am a vegetarian/vegan and always enjoy the food and deserts which are great. Excellent service and the waiters are super nice and always willing to please you. I always bring a friend to Lokal and they refer other friends. It remains me of the unique restaurants of Asheville and Charlotte, NC

Perfect burgers

By Daniel L |

After eating here two days in a row I can safely say that you will not leave hungry! The burgers are excellent and if you top it off with a milkshake from the place next door (go through the time machine and enter to 1986), you don't have to eat more that day. Super fun place with excellent and attentive service.

Great spot, fantastic burgers

By migFL |

Juan's Fidy-Fidy with ground beef and bacon is so delicious! It comes with both sweet potato fries & French fries, but I often times find myself finishing the French fries first. Burgers are freshly ground in- house daily. There are also quite a few vegan & gluten free options as well. No reservations but worth the wait.

Best burgers around.

By langloismj |

I've probably eaten at Lokal over 100 times. I was thrilled when they landed in Coconut Grove because at that time our restaurant scene was pretty dismal. Not so anymore. Offering craft beers and locally sourced meats and veggies this is a Pacific Northwest vibe plopped into Havana Norte. Grass fed beef, an array of burger choices and all sorts of great veggies. The veggie burger is, surprisingly, awesome. Monday to Thursday they offer a code 33 discount on wine and beer so if you live in 33133 you are golden.

It was ok

By KGLuchner |

Cute little place in the Coconut Grove area. I got the chicken and waffles which was good, but I wish the syrup had more heat and was warmed up prior to serving. Hubby got the grouper Reuben because the reviews for it were good. He was not impressed. Kids got chicken fingers and the chicken sandwich which they both enjoyed. The star of the meal was definitely the gator bites appetizer. For the cost of the meal, we expected more though.

Amazing food, drinks, service and atmosphere!

By Kelly U |

Amazing! The food was great, the drinks were great and the service was great! This was a last minute dinner spot and so happy we went. There was something for all of us ages 10-40! We will definitely be back again!

My N°1 burger in Miami

By Ziad |

As soon as we arrived (without reservation) around 8:30 p.m. we were given the choice to sit at the bar or wait around 20 minutes for a table, of course we chose the bar. Later it became really crowded and a long queue was forming. Service is very friendly and professional. The cheese burger was so juicy and tender it was unbelievable, i could have eaten two. I suggest the cheese burger with bacon, large fries and Lokal beer. 😂 I recommend sitting at the bar it was very pleasant and interactive. Prices are average and well worth it. Valet Parking is available. Will visit again for sure (Photos attached)

Fresh local ingredients

By MiamiScubamom |

Great place for burgers and the best sweet potato fries. The ingredients are fresh and local, hence the name "Lokal". Dogs are welcome in the patio area because it is a dog friendly restaurant. They even have a dog menu. Gotta love a restaurant that welcomes dogs too.

Excellent, cheap, fresh

By Cyril M |

Salads are awesome as well as the service. Everything so fresh. To be recommanded with no hesitation.

Key Lime Pie

By olivier_emily |

The best Key Lime in Coconut Grove!! Delicious! Friendly atmosphère, friendly and good service ! Pets friendly

Amazing: great service and atmosphere

By Orestes R |

Attention was excellent and the food was perfectly on point. There's always people, noise and an overall great environment. It's also dog friendly outside!!

Good

By Aaron |

The different burger options were good. They have grass fed beef and can do a lettuce wrap for gluten free people. The service was a bit slow but I still enjoyed my meal and my time there!

Can't miss signature Burgers and Beers

By ssulliv5291 |

Fantastic place to go on the weekends, no reservations accepted but you can call 15 minutes ahead to get on the list because there is often a wait. The menu is filled with signature burger creations as well as other interesting and creative dishes. Beer menu has a very local and uncommon selection. Definitely one of the top restaurant experiences in coconut grove!

Very nice place.

By FlyingJPR |

Good menu. The burger is really tasty and fresh. Meat was nicely cooked. Large selection of beer. I enjoyed the place and staff.

Best burgers!

By Sophi B |

Lokal is our go to spot for all things burgers and brews. Located right in the heart of Coconut Grove it offers an awesome spot to get off your feet and enjoy an awesome brunch, lunch, dinner or just a beer. The staff if great and challenge you to try different local beers. The burgers are their specialty, but there really isn't anything bad on the menu. Our pups enjoyed some chicken and rice and puppy beer of the dog menu! The restaurant itself is small, but they offer a lot of outdoor seating. Lokal is partnered with Kush in Wynwood and the Spillover in Coconut Grove. All locations are awesome!

Great brugers and fine service

By Luis C |

We visited this restaurant after the baseball game and we were able to taste a great burger with good beers. The service was good and it seems like an old fashion burger place ... we will repeat it in our next visit

I thought that I was not coming

By Alexandra L |

I thought that I was not coming back to this place but I have to recognize that burgers are good. However, the prices in general are extremely abusive and the service is bad. First of all, it’s not that you are arriving to a well-maintained space... just to give an example on the comment that I did to the waitress, the doors and the window frames of the outside are full of dirt and last time that that was painted I think that it was a long time ago. Nothing against that until you see that you are charged $11 for a, in my opinion, “not so exclusive” beer (turns into more than $13 with tax and tip). I haven’t seen those prices not even in Zuma. The burgers are $16, not as abusive as the beers, but then again I know hundreds of places where for less money you eat the same quality in a decent space and much better attention. A bad guacamole, clearly prepared hours ago, so already changing color, costs $13. But the thing than tops it all off is that you are charged $2 for tap water that you don’t even ask for. On a different note, they bring you the check in an old DVD cover which is greasy and dirty, and you have to make an effort to open it. Frankly, I don’t know how in these days a manager decides to implement such a way of delivering the check. We came some weeks ago and decided to give it another chance. But we are not coming back...

Great Spot!

By PDaddyCleveland |

One of the best burgers ever! The smoked fish dip was fantastic and the guava jelly on the burger was ingenious. All around a great place with a great vibe. Loved it!

Upsetting

By Bella D |

I used to love Lokal. We used to go all the time. However, my last experience was terrible. I ordered my Lokal Burger through Postmates. I asked for medium well, and my burger was literally RAW on the inside. It was bleeding. I bit into it and cracked my tooth on part of a bone. I am so disgusted and will likely never go back.

Local flavor, craft beer, good food

By CindyW2010 |

Small, local, hip restaurant featuring craft beers. Good menu, seating inside/out. Crowded street so have to probably park in lot down from restaurant. Burgers options are amazing - had the Miami Blues burger and this is very blue cheesy - a fave at our table! Side options available including slaw, salads, vegetables, fries, and sweet potatoe fries. Service was attentive, had to wait a bit for the meal but people watching is great here. Burgers are $15-$16. Plus the restaurant encourages fur babies to join you. Ample water and treats at their level. Will definitely be back.

Best burgers in town!

By Timsight |

The most delicious burger I’ve ever had! The place looks great with the cassette tapes and all. Waitress Jessica is very polite and friendly.

Best Veggie Burger in Coconut Grove

By erinfischer23 |

I love this place! All of their food is incredible, especially the salmon tacos. Great place to sit and have a beer while enjoying the Grove community. High volume of adorable dogs walking by is a major plus.

Wonderful Burgers and Beer

By jamesprich |

Have been a number of times and it is consistently good but there is always a line which depending upon available time frequently prevents our visit. Fortunately there are many other options. Very good food and good selection of beer.

Stay for the burgers

By Michael P |

The burgers are legend and as a burger lover they live up to it. Everyone always includes them in the best of Miami for a reason. And somehow I always enjoy when I go.

Our Dog's fav... and my fav Blue Burger

By Connie B |

The dog likes it as he can join us for dinner. They have a doggy bowl for the snacks you bring and water. Plus they give bigger snacks. The choice of burgers for us humans is great!!!

Incredible!!!!

By Alex S |

Very busy place! Do ur homework and check the menu in advance, show up with an idea about what to order and thats it, best flavors ever!!!!!, prompt service and great crowd. Everything is solid! from burgers to beers and timing of the food. They have a Shakes place next door that is worth a review along!

Good place for a burger and a beer

By PineBarrensMom |

Went for lunch and sat outside. We enjoyed the Frita burger and pink tacos (with bang bang shrimp - not too spicy) both accompanied by local craft beer and local craft cider. Friendly and attentive service. All good.

Dinner!

By Betiana M |

Amazing! First of all, the Carpaccio was exquisite. The burgers are awesome. And best of all, the variety of beers are great and the taste even better. The service was awesome too! Especially Britney, she was so kind and friendly. Great service. The only downside- their famous alligator bites. we’ve ordered them a good four times, and this time it was mostly just bread. No alligator. However, the server was kind enough to take it from the check.

Excellent burgers and service

By loren p |

This restaurant has a large selection of great burgers and a rotating tap of craft beers. Our party had 4 different burgers and all were excellent. Although I wouldn't go here just for the craft beer, it was good. We sat outside and had a very nice, and attentive server. A great experience in coconut grove.

Best Burgers!!

By Fingerlakeskris |

We loved Lokal!! We tried 5 different burgers and they were all outstanding. We will definitely go back if we are in the area again.

Great food, great beer, dog friendly

By Mark B |

Great food, great beer, and meals for my puppy. Incredible food for all of us. My pup had a great chicken and rice meal and I had a delicious burger. Local brewed beer was also great. Jessica was fantastic as well. Well be back.

Beyond DISAPPOINTING

By Carol H |

Went for a juicy burger and got terrible service, a burger so overdone it was like a hockey puck - not even warm! The salad was wilted and limp - could only eat one bite. The rice and beans were not edible. What happened? This used to be my favorite spot for a juicy burger with great service!

best burgers hands down

By Portia1972 |

loved this place. came in for a late lunch and had the spicy burger and it was fantastic. they make their sauces in house as well. service is super friendly and the vibe is good.

Love it!

By Marty O |

Always busy, always good and always fun. Great staff, nice selection of food, beer and wine. Always a stop for dinner when in town.

Some of the best burgers in town

By Josetorbay |

This place's is great and the burgers are some of the best in town. If you are looking for a burger place don't miss local, and my favorite the Fidy-Fidy which is absolutely incredible!

Crowded/Pricey

By Allison D |

We arrived at 8pm on a Sunday evening thinking we could get a table quickly. We waited over an hour for a seat and then we were rushed and often left alone by our waiter. The food was good but I wouldn't wait for it again.

Awesome Food, Cool Atmosphere

By Steve P |

Went to Lokal Burger for dinner during our layover. Checked out the reviews on Trip Advisor and they were right. Amazing burgers and cool place to chill out enjoy a drink and relax.

Great Unique Burger Joint

By Mark R |

I was in town on a business trip and went to Lokal with a local. I am a burger and fries guy. The classic burger was fantastic. The 1/2 and half (regular and sweet potatoes) fries were great. Service was very good. I did not try any beer but they had a ton of unique brews. Will certainly return.

Local is a casual place with a fun atmosphere. They have epic burgers and delicious salads along with cool appetizers - we even tried fried alligator! My husband loves tasting cool craft beers and he raves that Lokal has the best beer list in town.

Great meal but seating could have been better

By photoguy_10 |

We had 3 great burgers and 1 not so amazing grilled cheese sandwich/tomato soup. The burgers tasted amazing, fresh, plump, and with all the fixings. My wife said the grilled cheese had too much bread, but the soup was delicious. Service was good. I didn't care for our seating as we were seated at a bench high top that put us with another group. It was like we were dining with them and they with us...too close for 2 private conversations. I would go back but not sit in that arrangement.

The best sandwiches in Miami

By Arnaud A |

Sandwiches !!! Miami's best. A delight ! Go for it. The setting and the map are excellent. Take the sandwiches. I highly recommend

Burgers and Beers

By mooneynut |

Small, dog friendly place with good burgers and a decent selection of beer. The Fiddy Fiddy burgers with their combination of ground beef and ground bacon were excellent. Definitely worth a visit if you're looking for a burger.

A Grove Staple, for sure!

By ToTellTheTruthHonest |

Best rotating drafts! Everyone loves the burgers, and the doggie menu makes it a hit for the entire family!

Delicious burgers and a good variety of beer!

By Jennifer V |

Burgers was delicious! Great selection of beers and server was friendly and attentive! Def worth checking out. Atmosphere is laid back, nice place to sit and relax, esp during a hot day, have some cold beer and a great burger!

Meal out in Coconut Grove

By rognaik1 |

Went as a family to this modern burger venue which also sells craft beer -both local and international. Tried the alligator strips for starters followed by a Miami blue burger The alligator was tasty and the burger had a handmade feel about it and was very tasty. Certainly a major upgrade on the usual burger outlets. The local craft beer was served in a jar and had a very agreeable taste to the palate.

Service.....

By kimgY6508VF |

It was terrible. First of all I'd like to say that I have been here before and it was delicious. I come back and the service is terrible. Going to tables and giving them random things when we clearly ordered 20 minutes before. The last time we came the burgers only took 10 minutes. This time it took 30 minutes just for half of the burgers to be raw. They come back and I ask them about it and they give me the answer "they're supposed to be that way". I am so disappointed. After I got my burger, they gave me the wrong sauce. It took them 10 minutes to come back and change it. This was ridiculous. No burger is supposed to be raw. They probably didn't cook it right and were using excludes. Terrible

Quality food but a little grungy.

By TourMD |

Excellent burgers, fries etc and really pleasant staff. Decor and ambience are ‘relaxed’ - most everyone would feel comfortable ever though and I look forward to coming back when I need a bite in the area. (All about being a localvore and the beef in the burgers was extremely good.)

Stop in and be amazed!!

By Gary C |

I’ve been to Lokal a few times, and it’s always a treat! Today we had the pleasure of Mia and Leyla taking care of us and they were extremely attentive, polite, welcoming, and informative! Every recommendation was delicious! I ordered the gator bites for my friends that have never had gator before. It’s really tender and mild here unlike most places I’ve visited. I was recommended the Guava burger and it was surprisingly unlike any burger I’ve ever had. Paired with a laid back atmosphere and good brews, I will definitely return again and again. This is gem to add to your list of Coconut Grove staples.

Trendy place for a great burger!

By Rome_411 |

I ventured to Lokal for a quick lunch based on a recommendation. At first I was not sure if I could get in because it was pretty crowded but since I needed a table for one, I was seated pretty fast. The place is pretty trendy and rustic. I was stuck between a few options and The server recommended Frita by Kush and I was glad that I listened. The quality was wonderful. You could truly taste the difference with their locally sourced ingredients. Burger topped w/ guava jelly, melted Gruyere, stuffed w/ potato sticks, crispy bacon and a LoKal sauce. I enjoyed it very much. As with most gourment/specialty burger spots, the prices tend to be on the expensive side. So know that you will not be paying extra value meal prices or supersizing. But if you are visiting and want to eat like the locals, get a table at Lokal and enjoy yourself!.

definitely you should eat here

By owlindc |

I had the classic burger with a side of grilled asparagus. it was absolutely good. not super greasy and filling. the atmosphere is really nice and pay attention to the bar's decor

Hum over rated!!

By Bushrakhalid6 |

The burgers were okay nothing extra ordinary and so were the sea food tacos. After waiting for 45 min I expected the food and service to be extraordinary but alas! The service was slow and over all the experience was okay. If you have no other place to go than feel free to visit lokal burger!

Good Food - Excellent Service!

By Mike T |

My wife and I had lunch at Lokal yesterday. I do not eat meat, but ordered the black bean burger which was very good. My wife enjoyed the caesar salad with shrimp. Most people were getting burgers, which looked incredible and almost made me want to eat meat. The staff is excellent. The food was served promptly and after asking for a refill of water, they bought out a huge cooler of ice water. We walked to the restaurant from Coral gables and it was hot, so this was much appreciated. We did not drink beer, but they have an excellent selection. We did sit for a spell and it is an excellent place to people watch. All in all, a very pleasant dining experience.

Best Burgers in the grove!

By Heidi1226 |

Lokal has natural and local ingredients. Delicious menu -- plenty of specialty burgers & fry options. Lots of beer options. I recommend the gator bites as an appetizer :)

Good!

By Rob E |

Sat out front in the breeze! Nice spot. Had shrimp tacos. More taco than shrimp but good. Great service. Cool fun crowd. Good place to rest up and go on.

Food beautiful

By CindyWessel |

Burger was a bit dry and overcooked, yet was still good. Waiters and staff were fantastic! Ordered Lokal burger less bun with grilled veggies, they were great. All had good flavor. Recommend!

Good food

By Ramiro S |

Excellent burgers, as well as the sweet potato fries. We liked the children's menu, and the burger for them is large. The waitress never understood me when I asked for an Americano coffee, she brought me an espresso, and when I made the complaint he told me that that was the American coffee. We will return again.

Fun Coconut Grove Lunch Spot

By virginiahome64 |

Had a great lunch here. The chili was amazing. All of us ordered hamburgers, and everyone was very happy with their selection. The fries were also good, and there were plenty of them. Service was good as well.

Disgusting and dirty

By Exploringeurope |

This is one of those restaurants that all the gen z go to because of “the best burgers”! Really??? What a dirty horrible place! And the burgers are really not even average. Go to Wendy’s and pay less. Not worth your visit! And don’t even go to the bathrooms… you might get an infection or something. Ugh! What a waste of night this was.

Good atmosphere and fresh food

By kimberly O |

Good locally sourced food and beer. The chili was a great starter. The burgers were good, but a bit dry. Fries were plentiful and both regular and sweet potato were great.

Great local burgers

By baha_hala |

Had one of the great burgers of all time - 50% beef, 50% bacon - unbelievable flavour. Beer's good as well, but if you prefer something sweeter you can get a very good shake or malt from next door to have with your burger

High Quality Hole-in-the-wall

By Tutweiler |

This is an excellent hole in the wall with elevated bar fare prepared from locally sourced goods. Heirloom tomato salad was excellent as was the locally sourced grass fed Miami Blues burger. Good place for families - although it is definitely a bar - solo dining, or a comfort meal. Extensive craft beer list. Crowd was diverse in age and mellow (it was 5pm). Got there during a shift change and had to wait a few minutes to order but the waiter who finally came over was attentive and friendly. Burger was delicious, homemade fries, ketchup and a spicy mayo included. Will definitely go back.

Tasty!

By Emma Louise |

I went here with my dad and my grandparents on our last day in Miami. Loved the burger, and the sweet potato fries I got with were supergood! Staff was nice and helpful.

Bacon burger is the bomb

By rvmiami |

Half meat, half bacon....... so good and its the only place where I've been able to find this combination hamburger. Winter time is the best, sit outside and enjoy the view.

Fantastic local burger joint

By Bruce C |

Lokal lead a revival of Coconut Grove by providing delicious food at a great price. The fact that it uses locally sourced produce makes Lokal a Grovite's favorite. The beer selection is excellent with some local crafts. The food is very tasty and the menu provides options for any appetite. They even have a dog menu for your best friend when sitting outside.

Fresh Ingredients Make a Good Burger.

By Daniel D |

While in an odyssey to find the best "gourmet" burger in Miami, we stopped at Lokal. When you first arrive at the restaurant you will encounter a very inviting and comfortable atmosphere accentuated by dark wood. The environment it creates allows you to relax and truly enjoy your meal. The menu has multiple burgers that range from a classic offering to more adventurous ones that mix sweet and salty flavors. Each burger goes for around 15, and are sized properly to be satisfied. The burgers themselves are great, with fresh ingredients and high quality beef. (The restaurant is quite busy so be prepared to wait for your table) All in all, if you like burgers, Lokal is a good alternative to try.

Best burger 🍔🍟

By Maimir |

I haven't had such a juicy and delicious burger in a long time! I definitely recommend!!! With covid problems you can wait for a table around 20-25 min on weekends, there are only outdoor tables available for dining.

Disappointing; Expensive

By jamesprich |

Have been here many times previously as my previous reviews indicate. Over the past few years the quality seems to have sadly deteriorated. There is a new menu which doesn't include our favorite burgers, the food was not properly served and the prices have gotten outrageously expensive (including the mandatory minimum 20% tip.) If you factor in the price of parking, an unwelcome dining experience.

Best Burger In Miami

By Thommo86 |

Went in late on a Wednesday night and the place was really busy with a vibrant feel. Was seated after a short wait and the waiter was really friendly and laid back and took our drinks order before returning for food order. Ordered a burger which was only $15 with fries and was amazed at the quality of the meat and the taste. Would definitely recommend to everybody and this place deserves more credit for the great food and amosphere. Staff was really good as well.

Sooooooo good!!!!

By Joan M. |

As we were visiting for a wedding, we had some time to grab lunch Lokal was a recommendation. There are plenty of restaurants in this section of Coconut Grove, but boy were were thrilled that we ate here. First of all, say 'farm to table' and I practically swoon. We were entirely impressed by the beer selection--it is not a second thought offering here. Second, I had a very hard time trying to decide what to eat from their menu. I could return again and again and try something equally as tempting. I had the FRITA BY KUSH burger topped w/ guava jelly, melted Gruyere, stuffed w/ potato sticks, crispy bacon and a LoKal sauce, pressed down. Between the sweet, salty, savory, crunchy and crispy deliciousness, I thought I'd faint from being completely overwhelmed by sheer goodness. My husband had JUAN'S FIDY-FIDY which is a burger made from 50% Florida ground beef and 50% Florida ground bacon, served w/ mayo, Monterey jack cheese, smoked bacon and a sweet onion marmalade. This is served w/ 50% sweet potato fries, 50% french fries. Again, a combo that is ridiculously good. We had no room for dessert which was a key lime pie, so next time, I'll just have to try it. This place is truly amazing and the owner is doing this right!

Hometown Fav!

By Mona A |

Placed an order for a nice at home Quarantine meal. Everything was delicious! We had one burger and one chicken sandwich. Important to support our local restaurants in these difficult times. So glad Lokal was open since it is our go to restaurant when things are normal! Stay safe everyone and treat yourself to a great burger!

Expensive and now 20% mandatory service charge

By AUI |

I have long been a fan of this place, but over the last few years it has just become increasingly expensive. $18 burgers (which was overcooked) and now a mandatory 20% service charge. The burgers seemed to have almost doubled in price over the last few years, and this money is clearly not going to the staff (hence the increased service charge). Just feels like they are taking advantage of their customers.

We came for the key lime pie

By jwdragonflyn |

And we weren't disappointed. Supposedly one of the top rated key lime pie places in South Florida, and while I am not familiar with the exact names of all the competitions they've won, in our minds it should win all the wins. And the tres leches was decadent, creamy, and very caramelly, in short just as awesome as the key lime pie. Oh, and the beer was good too.

Excellent Burgers and Customer Service

By DrAlias |

We stumbled across this place while visiting Miami and ordered a burger, sweet potato fries and a light beer. The food was absolutely delicious. The burger was seasoned to perfection, hot and plentiful. The bartender was very friendly, knowledgeable and provided exceptional customer service. I highly recommend this place.

Fun atmosphere, excellent, fresh food

By C D |

LoKal was exactly what we expected: fresh, locally harvested food, fun, hip atmosphere. The restaurant is tiny so it feels a little tight when packed, but it does have some additional outdoor seating, although it was too hot for us to be comfortable outside the day we were there. My husband had a great burger and I had a delicious BLT with bacon from a shop in nearby Little Havana. The vibe and food reminded me a little of Vortex in Atlanta, but thankfully none of the risque photos at this place! We will definitely be going back on our next trip to Miami.

Good Place to Eat

By Scott P |

We wanted to try another place and we looking for well-rated fare with good beer as a choice of beverage and would recommend this place. It's in an area of Coral Gables with plenty of small shops to poke around in.

Great Food; Great Atmosphere

By Jim Richards |

Have been many times over the past years and always enjoy. Some times the wait is long, some times seating is not always as desired but overall the food, beer selection and atmosphere wonderful. The pluses far outweigh the minor inconveniences.

Great burgers and beer!

By TravelingFoodie06 |

Found this place on TripAdvisor and decided to go for it. The location is great with other restaurants near. We loved this restaurant from the painting on the wall to the cassette tapes that line the bar. The service was great. Pretty good burger as well. I ordered the classic and my partner ordered the BLT. Both exceeded our expectations! The beer list was great and diverse. With many local breweries and a few artisan brews. All in all great experience! Next time I’m trying the key lime pie

Wow! Just wow!

By Katie T |

Where to start.. I always end up getting a burger.. not sure how one even comes here and doesn't order one! The burger is one of the best in Miami. They also have a killer vegetarian burger and black bean burger (which never disappoint). The beer selection is always on point and that key lime pie is to die for! Any time i'm in the area this is a go to spot!

great brunch visit

By photoguy_10 |

We had a really nice outdoor brunch. The grilled cheese and tomato soup was excellent! The salmon tacos were excellent! Daughter really enjoyed the chix and waffles. The service was great. Didn't like being charged for the Vero water.

Looks to be a "hole in the wall" from the outside - NOT THE CASE on the inside!

By Running Rick |

Absolutely blown away when we stepped foot in the door. It looked to be a "hole in the wall" from the outside, wasn't even sure we should go, but we went for it and can't wait to go back! I had the Johnny Utah and my two business buddies had the Frita burgers and they were amazing. Staff were all sooo nice, service was quick and the waitress this afternoon kept a close eye on all the tables! Thanks for the burgers, look forward to returning!

Poor Customer Service

By Charlie Boi E |

Where do I start sat down the staff seem nice except our waitress Dominique was playing, touching and hugging and kissing a dog right in front of us when she finished cake straight to our table to assist us I asked was she going to wash her hands first and apparently that offended her so she walked away and the next thing we know another waitress comes out and introduce herself and said she would be our server. Oh really so Dominique is offended, hmmm we should be offended at the nasty attitude and the fact that you wouldn’t wash your hands before approaching us . Sasha was very nice and waited on us the manager Amanda was made aware of the situation but I’m almost sure she didn’t handle Dominique. There was no toilet paper in the women’s bathroom . The food was ok but the safety and sanitation for other patrons and the handling of the food or washing the hands seems to be a non existent thing based on Dominique performance she was too comfortable with her behavior

Savory Burgers Amidst the Locals

By JDSoui |

For those who enjoy fresh, premium burgers with unique mixtures of ingredients and options, this is a good stop to consider. The place was filled with mostly locals and according to the location their food is sourced locally. The burgers were fresh and cooked as ordered. One of the orders was called the "Miami Heat". It had a spicy cheese with Jalapenos along with a spicy sauce that included a spicy salsa to top the burger. Often times the spiciness of an order overtakes the flavor of the food - this place has the right mix as the taste of the food is proportionately balanced. There are other, good dining options such as the tuna sandwich. The beers are a good mix of well known brands and small, local brews. A great dining experience.

Off the Hook!

By Joan and Steven |

This place is so good. Really well made food. The ambiance is phenomenal. The staff are friendly, proactive and look to provide you the best dining experience possible. The burgers are mad tasty and made fresh day of. The salmon tacos were great as well. The craft beer list is serious, up-to-date and focused on bringing local brews to the fore front.

Disappointing

By bozacito |

The place is small, service was slow, the Air Conditioned inside was not working so it was uncomfortably too hot. The burgers were good, the marinated mushrooms bad, sour and a waste of money. The server forgot the orders for drinks and lemons for the table. Desserts were outstandingly awesome. The beer was not cold enough. Sorry but I don't think I will be visiting again. 3 stars and average place

Awesome veggie burger!

By alexxra |

This is seriously the best veggie burger I've ever eaten. Service is amazing, very good taste for music and very cool decoration. Key lime pie rocks!

Good burger

By Allie W |

Expected something more "special" because when I googled best burgers in Miami I wanted to get something amazing before going to the UMF last weekend...don't get me wrong, the burger was good, but I'm sure it isnt the best one in Miami ;)

Excellent Burgers

By Maribel |

These burgers are divine! So delicious! A must in Coconut Grove/Miami! 50/50 fries are amazing too! Loved it!

Fantastic Burgers

Great place to get a fresh burger. They pay attention to the details cook the burger exactly how you order it. Sweet potato fries are wonderful. Service top notch

Great burger

The burger was great and the sweet potato fries were awesome. They were very flexible with the order.

From the top to the very bottom in a year and a half

By BiminiSea |

I’ve been a loyal customer of Lokal since it first opened many years ago, but after being away for work for a year and a half, my recent visit left me deeply disappointed. The burger, once a highlight, was a major letdown. It was overcooked, drenched in excessive sauces that masked the meat’s flavor, and served on a cold bun. The quality that used to set Lokal apart has clearly declined. To make matters worse, prices have increased by about 50%, making it shockingly overpriced for what’s offered. On top of that, they’ve introduced a mandatory 20% gratuity, which feels unjustified given the mediocre service. The empty dining room at 7 PM on a Saturday spoke volumes. I left feeling ripped off and disappointed. Sadly, I can no longer recommend Lokal and won’t be returning.

the best burger

By Nicolas |

I went to this restaurant with my brothers and my dad, it is very well located at 3190 Commodore Plaza Coconut Grove is close to many clothing stores, sports stores, churches, bars, etc. It has its own parking service, it is about 40 meters from the restaurant and we did not know why they were taking our car since it was our first time there; Upon entering the restaurant everything was very clean, we were served super fast, there was a very good atmosphere and the people were very friendly, the food is really good so we repeated the dish twice. In summary it was an excellent experience, we loved the restaurant although unfortunately we only went once since it was very far from our hotel (40km or so) and I would love to be able to return there

Best burger, beer and key lime pie !

By Ed M. |

Lokal is a great place and part of by the best burger place from north miami down to south miami. Great choice of beer, burgers and to conclude with a really yummy key lime pie!!!!

A happy accident

By czpuz |

I am in town for work and wanted to grab an early dinner. I was walking around the Grove area of Coconut Grove, and walked past Lokal. I walked in was greeted immediately and was seated. My waitress was very good and recommended the Kush burger. My burger came perfectly cooked and was amazing. It had a guava jelly on it and bacon so it was a kind of sweet and savory Burger. I finished my burger and ordered a slice of Keylime pie. I am a Keylime pie connoisseur, and this was the best Keylime pie I have had outside of Blue Heaven on key west. The crust was amazing, the pie filling was perfect and I would go back just for the pie.

Just about Everything is amazing!

By Jamie H |

What can I say? Since my husband and I moved to the Grove we wanted to support the local businesses and what better way to do that than to dine at its local restaurants? We always sit at the bar (we prefer it that way) and we always have a good experience. One of the first things I’ve tried was the tomato soup and grilled cheese appetizer and it is every bit of comforting! Definitely a must try! (So tasty on a rainy day) Our Go-To order starts out with 2 sides of cauliflower—we’ve tried them the original way and with chimichurri and it’s so good you have to do it twice! Next, we usually go with the “Lokal salad” that comes with all the good stuff with the juiciest chicken on top with their homemade vinaigrette...and my number one favorite menu item the “Chick Chop” with sweet potato fries and extra honey mustard sauce! (A MUST—Their honey mustard is by far the best EVER made!) The Chick Chop is simply a marinated chicken breast with greens, onion, avocado and yes honey mustard with some other yummy things on one of the best buns I’ve ever tasted! So, as you can tell they have sold me on the menu and overall they do a pretty nice job. If I had to give a suggestion though it would be to encourage the staff to be more friendly and interactive with the customers. For such a cool place it would make sense that you have a lively staff! One bartender we don’t see anymore did have the best service demeanor—tall with a mustache and really short haircut. We even tried to schedule our weekly dining experience to when he worked because it just made sense. Clearly this is a beyond 5 star review but there is always room for growth and improvement! Hopefully I’ve done my civic duty and convinced you to dine “Lokal” really soon!

Ok burger, don't want to come back

By Nac |

Well... I have tried amazing burgers before, this burgers weren't bad, they were just ok, what bothers me is that they CHARGE me for TAP water. The service was good.

Outstanding - If I returned to the area I'd go again!

By J H |

We ate out in many places in South Beach, then drove to this location (not in South Beach) on our last day. This was my favorite restaurant of them all. Unique, delicious, friendly, reasonably priced! Their Florida grass-fed burgers are from Fort McCoy Ranch in Marion County, Florida. They are free-range, Kobe-style cattle and have no hormones, antibiotics or steroids. All burgers are freshly ground in-house daily, by hand.

Relaxing Sunday lunch in the Grove.

By delgadomv |

We got there at noon when it opened and avoided having to wait. Half an hour later it would have been a different story because it got packed. Stefanie our waitress provided great service and my burger was cooked to perfection. Had the Frita by Kush burger and it was delicious. Not too sweet even with the guava jelly and all. Will definitively return to have it again. Also liked the option of mixed fries (half regular/half sweet potato.

Great local burger 🍔 shop

By Katelyn |

Such a great spot ! Such unique decor. The food was delicious! Some of the Best sweet potato fries, and good draft beers. Our teenagers enjoyed their food as well. Service was amazing ! Would definitely recommend.

Not very good

By Krystel S |

I went here based on the many great reviews. I love burgers and am not hard to please. I chose the 50/50 (fidy fidy) and was disappointed with what I got. It was very plain, no lettuce, tomatoes, nothing but a bun of bread, a meat patty and half cooked bacon (not crispy). I didn’t like it. The fries didn’t make up for it: I got half sweet potato fries and half normal fries. The sweet potato fries were okay, but the normal fries were no good. Finally, everything, including the ketchup(!) was too salty.

Delicious Burgers

By blondissa |

I went with 3 friends this afternoon. We have all been to all 3 Kush restaurants several times, including this one. Lokal and Cafe Kush are the best IMHO. Three of us had the grassfed Frita with guava jelly, which is our favorite and we can't find it anywhere else. The 4th person had Chicken and Waffles. We all agreed our meals were Delicious! Our drink was Mexican Coke. The service was great and the 90s music was perfect, not too loud. This is a fun place and is casual. Parking is on the street. Wheelchair accessible but no handicapped parking around there. We were so full this time that we didn't order dessert..

Fabulous Burgers

By babs227ga |

One of the best burgers I’ve had-and I make a point of finding great burgers! Sweet potato fries are awesome-and don’t skip the key lime pie! fun quirky place in the Grove

So good! Burgers and sweet potato fries

By Danield528 |

We sat outside on a Sunday night, beating the rush by 5 minutes around 6pm. My daughter got the "childhood dream" burger - an amazing cheeseburger served on a glazed donut. It was awesome. I had the LoKal salad, which was great. My dad had the fiddy-fiddy burger. Half bacon, half beef - so delicious. The sweet potato fries were perfectly crisp and soft at the same time. Not one was left by the end. Our fourth got the banh mi sandwich, which she loved. Four delicious entrees, some drinks, hip area, great service, all under $90. Highly recommend!

Long wait for food

By sjhurd |

This place I so wanted to try and yet I was so disappointed. It took over 30 minutes for a take out order of just a burger. Big disappointment.

Decent Food, Big Selection of Beer

By Jonathan B |

We were recommended to this place by Miami Smokers Urban BBQ, so after spending the afternoon at South Beach, we made the trip to Coconut Grove. We hadn't figured out how to do the parking-by-phone, so we parked on a side-street two blocks away. The restaurant looked pretty cool, and it fit the food. The staff was very attentive and friendly, and there was water and dog bones on the sidewalk for locals walking their dogs, which was a nice touch. The food was basically good. I ordered a burger which was 50% beef and 50% bacon. The waitress told me if I liked bacon, this would be the one to get. It was good, but it lacked the bacon taste (except for the strips of bacon on top). The manager told me that the pork fat was ground in, so it didn't have the bacon flavor so much, but to me, that makes it more of a pork belly and beef burger. It was a good burger, and I liked it, but it wasn't what I expected. The chicken and waffles were good, but the guacamole appetizer was rather bland and lacking, to my taste. When the manager asked us about our dinner, I mentioned that, and she thanked me and took it off the menu. The star of the dinner was the key lime pie. We've had key lime pie almost every day on our trip, and this was a close second to Kermit's in Key West. It was excellent and a rather large piece. This was a good, solid dinner made with high-quality local ingredients, and it should provide a nice meal for anyone venturing there.

High Expectation!

By Lissette G |

We went on an early bday celebration for my burger addictive daughter. We had high expectations from all the reviews. Overall ok burgers, ok fries, and good service. Nothing out of this world!

Good Food; Great Service

By jamesprich |

Have been many times over the years. Never disappoints. Wife and took our grandchildren who were visiting from Philadelphia. Burgers always well prepared in a laid back atmosphere. Beer and wine selection varies but is always reasonable. Prices are going up but so what else in new in today's world.

Good food and great people watching

By Stan |

Sate outside and had the chicken and waffles - yum yum. My friends had burgers. All was served hot and fresh. Lots of people walking all around this bustling area so if you need a quiet meal - you may have an issue. Also lots of folks here seem to bring their dogs with them. Half of the people sitting outside had dogs with them and there were dog water bowls all over. I didn’t care but some may have an aversion to dining in close proximity to animals. Great ambiance and great service. Would definitely go back.

This is the place to try alligator!

By Myra K |

Lokal had a great atmosphere and yummy food. I loved how they just charge $1 for an unlimited fancy bottle of water... it means you don't run out!! (Necessary when it's so hot out.) My sister and I came her specifically because we wanted to try eating alligator. This looked like our best bet—and they didn't disappoint. The alligator tasted pretty good, and came with delicious sauces and in a cool presentation. We also got a sandwich and that was good. It was a cute ('trendy') place, in a nice area. Coconut Grove is fun to walk around. I made the mistake of taking the train down to the Coconut Grove stop then walking over... it can be done, but be careful which streets you choose. Dicey. Better to just grab an Uber.

Sadly Disappointed :(

By OAFB |

Coincidentally, a couple of days before leaving for a little trip to Miami, I received a T&L Magazine list of supposedly the best farm to table restaurant in every state. The one listed for Florida was Lokal Burgers Beer, so it was with much anticipation that we made arrangements to eat there. Coconut Grove is an undeniably beautiful, lively, charming area. The restaurant's food offerings, unfortunately, were essentially mediocre. Five of us each had a different kind of burger, but no one was in the least wowed by the meal. The burgers were only just edible, and the fries were rather pathetic; they tasted like something that came from a bag of frozen potatoes: dry, mealy and tasteless. The buns had each been branded with the LoKal logo, which was cute, but that's about it.The servers, who were actually quite good, boasted about LoKal making all of its own sauces, but all of us agreed that they were nowhere near unique. We shared a plate of alligator strips that were dry, stringy, perfectly tasteless and overwhelmed by a thick, bland batter. I must say again that the servers were quite good, very attentive, fun and prompt, but in the end, we went out of our way to eat some crappy food served by some very nice kids.

Fun laid back burgers and brews. I was impressed with the cassette tapes adhered to the bar as I was in the era when listening to them was a way of life. The bartender gave me a few complimentary draft samples based on my taste, and I found one that was refreshing (and tasty). Locally grown ingredients help the burgers taste very good. Ice cream parlor is adjoined, just beyond a vintage phone booth.Good food with a cool atmosphere

Solid Burger Place In The Grove

By bret j |

Lokal is more than a solid place to get a great hamburger in the Grove. Lots of solid craft beers (I am partial to the six point resin). Very reasonably priced and good service. Best side if the portobello mushrooms in a great vinaigrette if you want the healthy choice or the sweet potato fries if you are looking for something a bit more decadent. Good tacos and salads if you want to go that route. My personal favorites among the burger selections are the Miami Blues and the Lokal. Two people can easily get out of there for lunch with several beers for under $100. Only downside is owner is too cheap to pay for cable so not the place to catch the game which is disappointing as it would be great place to hang out for Sunday game day if it wasn't for that. Usually eat here and then go to Duffy's a block away after as they have all the games but not nearly as good food.

the best food

Came for lunch with my brother. We loved our Thai-style mains which were amazing with lots of flavour, very impressive for a vegetarian restaurant. But the service was below average and the chips were too terrible to finish. When we arrived at 1.40, we had to wait 20 minutes while they got our table ready. OK, so we didn't have a reservation, but the restaurant was only half full. There was no reason to make us wait at all. We ordered the chips as a side dish and they looked delicious. But, when we tasted them, they were overcooked and swimming in oil so we left most of them. We expected a lot more for $10 I was really excited about visiting this restourant, and the mains were just fantastic, but the rest of the experience was really disappointing.

Awesome food...great beer!

Went to Miami for a few days and stayed in the downtown area, where we ventured to a spot called Kush in the Wynwood neighborhood and automatically loved it. They had awesome beers, super cool vibe, and most of all bomb.com food. We had the chicken and waffles and were sold....so sold that we had to try their other spot, which was Lokal in Coconut Grove. So on our last day, we drove out for lunch and were NOT dissapointed! We ordered the Smoker BLT and the Cracker Cowboy Chicken sandwich and both were off the hook. We also finished them off with some awesome porters, so we definitely recommend checking both spots out! We were just bummed we didnt have time to try their 3rd spot!

Fabulous Burger and staff!

We went to Lokal after having a chat with the concierge of the hotel we are staying in. He strongly recommend the place and there was a reason for that: this one of the best burgers we ever had!! High quality meat in a gorgeous bun... soft, juicy and full of flavour. The guacamole is also worth mentioning as well as the mint infused home made lemonade. I am not going to get started with the beer selection...just great! We will certainly go back!!

excellent burgers

They offer a great menu. Fried alligator is great, the guacamole is great, the burgers, the meal everything is great. The beer and burger offerings are Lokal ingredients which makes it fantastic.

Just try the Miami Blues a Florida grass-fed burger with crispy bacon and Danish blue cheese, shredded lettuce and sliced onions that's what I have and my wife had the Classic and she love it.They also have a great selection the craft local beers.

Can be great, but inconsistent and got WAY too expensive

By Robert B |

I have been going to Lokal since it opened. When the burgers are cooked as you order, they are fantastic. Excellent choices. The problem is that it is never consistent. Order it medium-rare and it could be anyway from barely cooked to overdone. Seriously - it's a burger place - you have one job!! The non-burger items on the menu are also varied and very good - except for the salmon tacos which were over-spiced and made me ill. The salads are also good. And the key lime pie is absolutely outstanding. But here is my problem and why I will never go back. Yes, they have been slowly and steadily raising their prices - I get it. Everything is more expensive. But last month my favorite burger cost $17. But with that burger you got either a heap of fries or a side salad - which was LARGE. Caesar salad was an option too and it was very good. But now - now that came burger costs $19. And fries are not only NOT included, but are $4 extra. Salad was even more. Instead, the only thing you can get included is "Colonel Kush's Coleslaw". This would great except for a few things: (1) it has no taste; (2) it is not a salad; and (3) it is not a mountain of fries. So, here we are, one month later, and my burger is now costing me $23 instead of $17. Plus they conveniently add on 20% tip - which is calculated AFTER the tax. This was one of my favorite places but I can never go back. On principle, and because who the heck can afford it??!?! Such a shame.

We went here for the reviews and it didn't disappoint. The hamburger was super delicious and well done. You can also other sweet potatoes fries that it was a really nice surprise, also super well done. I recommend this place but it is a little in the price side.
