Two good lunches so far, fast friendly service, excellent food

By Quazi F |

First time, I went there with a friend who is vegetarian, he was happy with his meal. I loved my chicken sandwich. Second time I tried their deluxe burger. It was awesome, just as I expected. I liked the beer too, but I have no idea what it was, I relied on the recommendation of our server. It gets a little over crowded, so get in around 11:30 for lunch.

Great place

Great local eatery very close to Amazon offices and Glazes Camera. Big selection of beers and comfort food. Excellent burgers and relatively inexpensive to eat here. Highly recommend...

Beverages and a late evening snack

By FishinTexan |

Traveling with my wife on vacation, we stopped here trying to adjust for a westward 2 time zone change. Still daylight at 930pm (1130pm home time). Walking distance from our hotel we found this place. The place was a buzz with a good mix of what appeared to be locals. Great music, baseball on, everything needed to wind down. Seat yourself, so we chose a high top near the bar. I ordered a beer, she ordered wine. Our server was quick and attentive. We decided after a bit to order some small plates edamame, wings, and perogies. All arrived soon. Well prepared, tasty, thoughtfully pepared and just the right amount. Lots of interesting options on the menu. A cool place to hang out. I would definately hang out here if this was home. Highly recommended.

Pub and good grub

By AlgisJ |

Stumbled onto this place while looking for another restaurant. Very spacious, wood decor, and outdoor seating. Also on the trolley line. Note: kids aren't allowed on the patio due to alcohol consumption. The food was good and so was the service. Our waiter even gave us a free dessert when he found out we were tourists. We will be back!

Great food, beer and service

By nzinlondon657 |

Stopped here for dinner and the place was busy but not crowded. Enjoyed local pints and the burger and fish tacos were excellent.

great place for lunch or happy hour.

By Couchtomarathon |

This is a excellent location for a nice lunch or happy hour. It is right in the middle of the Seattle Amazon HQ. Has an wonderful staff and great food. Come back after work for a perfect happy hour.

Good Burger, slow poor service.

By mjbtb85 |

My husband and I had a beer each. Took a while for our waitress to come back and take our food order. Finally ordered, took a while to come back and check on us. I was finished with my drink and could have asked if I wanted another drink (I didn't want one but should have asked). Took a very long time to get her to come check on us so we could ask for our bill. We both went to the bathroom separate and came back and still never came. I finally went and asked to get our check and was told she was training. I never saw anyone with her and I see pretty well!

Cool place to hang out

By 817stephanie |

Really good food and a cool place to hang out. We were there a few weeks ago, early July. They have garage door style windows that open up which is really nice when the weather is warm. Its a casual atmosphere, but good food. We enjoyed it so much we went back a second time. I had the chicken sandwich the first time and the ahi tuna sandwich (my favorite of the two) the second time. Both on gluten free bread which was very good. Service was great the first time and ok the second (the reason for four stars instead of five. They have shuffleboard and it looked like some kind of mini golf which was not set up when we were there.

Nice new pub in SLU in the heart of Amazonia

We stopped by after work (and pre-Sounders) for dinner. Our waitress Sage was very engaging and was happy to offer her thoughts on the menu and what was popular in the short time they have been open. Despite the full house she was stopped by multiple times to check on us and see if we needed anything. This place has a daily drink special and so I opted for the Fremont Interurban IPA for $4 (a favorite of mine) while my wife chose the "mystery wine" for $4 which is supposedly a decent class wine of unknown (to the servers anyway) type and vintage. Her guess was a merlot - it was certainly worth the price tag. For dinner, I chose to triple up on the Pastor tacos which are served with a heavy pineapple and cilantro garnish. I thought they were excellent and at $4 per taco not all that unreasonably priced. My wife went for the half plate of nachos, which was a perfect single person dinner for only $8 (the full plate is $16 and presumably serves about 37 as an appetizer as so many nacho plates are wont to do). Our bill for dinner and drinks was still under $40 for two - not a bad price for this part of town. I'd definitely come here again.

My new go-to spot

By Szamor Williams |

I was really happy with each of my first few experiences at Local. From the friendly hostesses like Lauren to the attentive bartenders and bartendresses like Hunter, my beer has always been cold and the food suggestions have been on point! It's really nice when the big side windows are open and you can enjoy the fresh air as though you were on a patio but you don't have to contend with the scorching rays of the sun. Drinkwise, I'm still making my way through the beers on their current list, but they have a great porter and a delicious sour right now. On the food front I highly recommend the street tacos and of course, the donuts! It's well worth a trip in since the whole staff are friendly, knowledgable, and you will leave full and happy if you choose to grab a bite to eat. Also, it's the kind of place where ypu xan just strike up a conversation at the bar and really feel like a local if even only for a day. I'll definitely be back!

Ok, walking distance from hotel

By DLRAPN |

Chris our waiter was absolutely charming. Food was mediocre and small portion for a big price. Food was lukewarm when we got it.

A little something for every palette

By dolphinbreeze |

Solid "4" rating. With our group, we had the guac, a salad, tacos with fries, fried chicken ramen, and a cocktail from their menu. Everything was well prepared and tasty. The staff was friendly and attentive. Nice, quite outside patio space for a Saturday afternoon (see photo)

Loved our first visit here

By Steve F |

Stopped in for a Father's Day lunch after kayaking with my son at nearby Lake Union and had a great time. The place is spacious, with a large bar area, a central area with retro furnishings from the 50s and 60s and a separate dining area. My burger was one of the best I've ever had, with a homemade bun and locally sourced beef. A generous portion of thin cut fries was included. The rest of the menu looked good too. After lunch, we moved to the lounge area for a rousing game of Rock em Sock em Robots. Very fun, except that I got my block knocked off.

A Gem!!

By Simon Wilshire |

Loved this place and I ordered something I never order - Fish and Chips. As a Brit, it's a tough call, especially as I'm not a fan of fish - other than Cod. This was the best Fish & Chips I've tasted in years. There only thing missing was the Mushy peas and some malt vinegar. The staff were perfect and the prices were very reasonable.

Love The Local

By Phyllis D |

The Local is a must visit when we come to Seattle. We’re always greeted with friendly service, amazing food and delicious drinks!

Nice!

By Claudia T |

Cool trendy vibe, great area, super fun , service lacked a bit and the food was just ok, but its a nice place to enjoy a drink with friends.

Nice dinner

By HTownReviewer |

Place has a cool vibe but it’s nothing fancy. Service was pretty good given how packed it was and how short stuff they are. I have a breakfast sandwich for dinner, my wife had the Hot Chicken, and my daughter had the Poké bowl. Everyone enjoyed their meal… It was just nothing extraordinary. But good. I’ve only been here once and I’m from out of town, if it is consistent then this would be a great place to go on the regular.

Very Good Eatery!

By Russ P |

Stumbled on this place, but it is now one of my favorites. Good food, not super crowded, very comfortable.

Busy restaurant

By rpisces |

Busy restaurant at lunch time, food was good except they could improve on the fire, service was a bit slow, at least the waitress had a good attitude.

Great time

By Donald C |

Great for a night out, really friendly staff, good food, resonably priced. I highly recomment the hippy toast as a starter, but everything was good.

First meal in Seattle did not disappoint!!!!

By Jamie L |

EXCELLENT SERVICE & FOOD. The Moxy around the corner recommended this place as it was within walking distance for me. I wanted to try the Ruben because it had some interesting features... Mustard & crunchy slaw. It was the best Ruben I've ever had and I love me a Ruben. The service was fabulous. I sat at the bar and met some locals that offered a ton of fun places for me to check out during my stay. Check it out!!!

Great First Meal in Seattle

By Kraig M |

Found this place via TripAdvisor, mostly looking for a place still open at 10... East Coast eateries stay open later apparently! Great find. Ordered food to take out; it was promptly prepared and delicious. The bartender that served us was wonderful; he was pleasant and affable, and even bought me a "welcome to Seattle" draft of IPA. It has been decades since I had staff buy me a drink... Everything was great, the parogies were OUTSTANDING. Will be first stop when I return to Seattle. Street parking available adjacent. Oh... and they ha bowling and baseball on TV... brilliant!

Food was good in a handy location

By qazphilby |

Went here for a catch up with some friends. The menu is wide enough to cater to most peoples taste but not overly different from 100 other places found locally. The beer is cold and has a good choice. Service was ok, but had the wrong drinks delivered and meals were delayed so more beer was drunk (good for them and I wasn't complaining).

Good food, great atmosphere

By CJWWW |

There are a few very good restaurants within a stones throw of here. Local is great for a beer and a meal at reasonable prices. I had the poutine to start. It was very tasty but the meat was a little dried out - no big deal, as it was still tender and flavorsome. I followed that with fish & chips. The crispness of the fish batter was outstanding (I am from the UK and appreciate good fish & chips) but the fish inside was rather thin and so the texture was missing. They need to use a slightly thicker fish filet for it to be perfect. I noted that the fires used for the poutine and those for the fish & chips were different. The ones in the poutine were thinker and were actually closer to those we use in the UK for fish & chips. They were definitely the better chip in the two dishes. I enjoyed the atmosphere and music. The staff were attentive without being overbearing.

super good burger and really good onion rings. rocking at 5pm for an east coast baseball game. fast and friendly service.

Delicious

By Christina E |

This was our first stop after checking into our hotel down the block. We came here with our family of five, with three children ranging in age from 10 to 17. The food was excellent, with a wide-ranging menu. One of us had the super powers bowl, it was delicious and so fresh. Loved the atmosphere too, casual and cool.

Fish Tacos are amazing!

By HPH88 |

Cool pub by Lake Union, staff are friendly and helpful on advising on beer. The fish tacos were sooo good! Seems a bit out of the way if your a tourist but thats a good thing!

Good food and beers

By MinhTran SG |

I went to LOCAL with two friends for a casual lunch. Overall experience was good including attentive service, food and beers. We had the deluxe burgers and chicken tacos...all good. Great selection of beers on tap. Casual place to grab a beer and pub food.

Local spot mostly Amazon

By Waltj-Seattle |

This is a great local spot in South Lake Union to grab a beer and burger. Nice atmosphere and plenty of beer options. Great food presentation but food is actually just ok, nothing special. During the week it’s mostly Amazon workers coming in to eat and drink after work. Their happy hour is all day every day so you can be happy all the time. Lots of choices in this area to eat and drink and this is a good place to do both. For great food go somewhere else.

Huge place for lunch

By loveDCA |

Local is actually a Canadian chain but they have a lot of PacNW choices on their menu. Lots of seating - it’s probably designed around the Amazon lunchtime crowd with a mix of shared tables and smaller solo ones. Fast service.

Take out

By Helen |

I ordered a burger to go from here and it was probably the most greasy, unsatisfying, least flavorful burger I've ever eaten. My walk home was 7 minutes, I couldn't even bring myself to finish it, for the price, 100% not worth it. This was take out so maybe in the restaurant is different, I haven't brought myself to go in bc of how bad that burger was.

Quick lunch!

By Alicia K |

Great place to go for a quick, cheap, and yummy lunch. The fish tacos are amazing! Lots of options to pick from.

Fun and casual if you are in the area.

By ontheroadforgci |

A relatively new place on the north end of Terry in the heart of Amazon-land. A very big space with several different micro-spaces - an outside patio that is very nice, an inside seating area with smaller tables and long group tables, a area with games etc. and a larger bar-like area. I sat on the patio and had several different small plates - all pretty good, the fish taco's were the best! Service was very friendly and fun. I stay in this area often and I'll definitely go back to try other plates.

Incredible spot!

Amazing food, service and atmosphere! We were visiting from Canada and we would highly recommend this spot to everyone!

Game Day Fun!

By TKinSeattle |

Fantastic venue to gather with friends. Awesome food, live DJ, wonderful staff! Must order salt & Pepper Wings!!!! Super crispy & delicious! Sunday mimosa & Bloody Mary specials!!!! TV’s everywhere!!!! Love it!!!

Nice outdoor seating in warmer months

By Chris H |

Good choice of craft beer and a decent menu choice. Gets busy around weekday lunchtimes due to being in the middle of Amazon campus. Food was pretty good. Worth a visit if you're in the vicinity

Better food than expected

By robair747 |

I came here twice during my stay. I was surprised by how good the food was, I was expecting a standard offering but it was very good quality and value. This is kind of a hooters style sports bar restaurant which has a focus on beers. It has a friendly atmosphere and good service

great burgers

By PhoenisSunDog |

The burgers were excellent here. They were juicy and tasty. French fries were thin with lots of taste. Staff was friendly and very attentive. Definitely a place to check out.

Great food, great drinks and superb service

By Shanku02 |

One of the highlights of our stay in Seattle! Loved it so much that we even sought out their original place in Vancouver, BC. Must have their house made veggie burger. OMG so yummy! Seattle version of the burger is massive in keeping with the American portion sizes and the one in Vancouver, a more human sized one. Both equally scrumptious!

Better than a quick stop

By Bobby C |

Visiting with my brother on our first trip to the states and needed a place to grab a quick pint after checking in to our hotel. Meant to just stop in but had a lovely experience and wound staying for a full meal and dessert experience Our bartender was Kimoni and helped us select the hot chicken which was a bit spicy for us but washed down well with a Guinness. Any fellow Guinness lover is alright by us! Thanks again mate. Good vibes

Good food

By Felicia C |

The Food was amazing and it was great for a quick dinner close to our hotel, the staff seemed little distracted with each other so we did wait for a food for a bit and we never got refills on our drinks or asked if we wanted a second beverage.

Too Many dogs could not finish dinner

By wwtravelerRochester |

I would have liked to have stayed longer and tried a few more things BUT THERE ARE DOGS ROAMING EVERYWHERE!!!!! There were dogs inside and out. The board of health should be called. Staff petting dogs then food. Not hygenic. Covid was less of a worry. Food was not bad but could not enjoy. Ran out and discovered we were overbilled. Check provided was only a total. DON'T GO!!!!!!!!!!!!

Casual, popular place to eat

By Lynne S |

We ate here after arriving in town. It was a long day and this was the perfect place for a few drinks and a relaxing meal. There was a young, professional crowd and a lot of them had Amazon logos on their jackets. Everyone seemed to be having a good time, young and old, and the food was good. Will return next time we visit Seattle.

Checked out the app for a good place near my hotel in Seattle and came across Local Public Eatery. It is true to its name! A great beer selection wonderful service. We asked the waitress for a food recommendation and she suggested the edemamae appetizer and crispy chicken sandwich for dinner. Both were incredible. Big flavor, great portion and not an overall bad price. I will come here again when I am back in Seattle.

Whole Foods Market excellent place to eat!!

By whiddenfour |

Fresh food and variety of foods to choose from!! Within walking distance from our hotel. Delicious quinoa salads great for vegetarians too. Reasonably priced.

Great food & Service

By Gary J |

We had a great meal at Local Public Eatery Terry Ave, Seattle. Food was great, the service was excellent & they had a fine selection of beers & wine.

Fun atmosphere!

By B R |

I recently visited here with coworkers and we really enjoyed our meal. We had the fish tacos and pork tacos-both were great. The yam fries were amazing--I'd definitely recommend these. They had a great drink variety, and the service was excellent.

Amazing food and atmosphere

By Amrankin34 |

My husband and I both loved this restaurant! We went during the lunch hour. The fish tacos were so flavorful with a light crispy batter. My husband got the fried chicken sandwich and loved it as well. The staff was friendly and we received our food quickly. Would definitely recommend!

Locally Excellent. Publicly Perfect.

By ibRWC1 |

Loved the vibrant atmosphere. Many places to select in the area, but this was certainly a great place to enjoy a lunch. I had the Local Burger with fries (extra crispy) and it was cooked to perfection for $18.50. With it, I had the Mac & Jack’s African Amber Ale. 🍺 It was very smooth and most satisfying. If it wasn’t lunch, I’d certainly have more than one.

Great food and drink

By jakester2012 |

Had the local brew burger. Not too spicy, just right. Wife had fish taco and pork taco, really enjoyed the fish, not so much the pork (a little greasy). Bar tender (Darren) really nice and attentive. Will definitely be back.

Great Space

By Matthew B |

Good space to watch sports or just hang out. Bartenders were friendly and engaging, which is pleasant. I've noticed that when you are running a business in Amazon Land some restaurants have just depended on always being busy and tend to forget they are also there to provide a service. It was nice to see here they actually cared. Menu was a little limited but the food was tasty. Had the poutine and al pastor tacos. Prices not bad. Daily specials and some rotating beers and barrel wines. With a name like Local I thought they would have more local beers on tap, I always find it odd when bars have bud light and coors when there are so many choices in Seattle.

Fun sports bar

By Carmen |

Our first night flying into Washington we checked into this place out that a local recommended us to. My family that consists my husband, 10 year old son, 11 year old daughter, & 17 year old daughter loved this relaxed and fun spot. Food was great, great beer selections, sports TV screens, & service was great!

Pleasantly surprised

By John D |

My dinner exceeded expectations. The fish and chips were very good while my wife sang the praises of her chicken sandwich. My one complaint was the beer selection was limited (the beers they had on draft were good).

A pub with food

By sergei |

Stopped here for lunch with a friend. Nice beers (and not as expensive as, say, downtown at Elliott's). Excellent guacamole with chips (not cheap, but quality is great). Any burger can be made veggie. Fries can be made from yam. Overall, a hangout for friends. The food being a bit heavy, I would suggest alternative places if you're looking for a healthier fare. But for beers, (veggie) burgers and some conversation, this is pretty good spot.

Great food and beer selection

By Carol B |

A manageable walk from the Holiday Inn Express on Dexter. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, very good food, and outstanding beer selection.

Good Beer - Happy Hour

By Elizabeth M |

I planned to grab a happy hour beverage and an early dinner here, but It ended up just being a happy hour. Staff was overwhelmed and I could barely get a beer order in. I would have had a second before I had to leave, but it took so long to get the bar staff to recognize me at the actual bar, that I ended up tabbing out and leaving. As I mentioned though, it was very crowded and clearly a hit! Place is HUGE; Lots of selections for beer; Seems to be a local spot, which I loved. If I didn't have to unexpectedly meet coworkers, I would have loved to stay and had dinner here based on the suggestions from the locals that were sitting next to me and from how eclectic the menu looked. Will come back and give this place another shot.

Step above bar food

By Reactor1966 |

Good casual dinner. Bar atmosphere but the food was a step above usual pub fare. Interesting beer list but I wasn't in the mood for one.
