Trust me, do not go to this restaurant....

By Helmut |

.... because I want it all for myself. Darn! Those were the best fish and chips I have had to date in my life. Every single bit was delicious and, frankly, no toppings like remoulade were needed because it was all perfectly seasoned. I love when things are slightly charred and Local Tide did not disappoint. The smoked salmon belly spread was the best I have had and I wish I had a freshly toasted bagel to go with it. Only bummer: no bread pudding today. I guess I will have to come back. Please twist my arm... Service was friendly, attentive, and fast. Overall an amazing experience I really really do not want to share with anyone.

Seafood Delight

By crosscountry2007 |

When friends are in town, what better thing to do than to share a meal together. Each of us had a different meal. I chose the Salmon House salad. The generous serving assured that I had enough for a “to go” box. Cory at the front desk was quite helpful in assisting with my choice. When the opportunity comes again, I will certainly return.

A must place to dine!

Fantastic food and staff! Had the bahn mi with a few Vitamin Rs. So good. The shrimp toast was phenomenal with the chili sauce and sweet mayo. Never had anything like it. Had the smash burger for dessert. Excellent way to conclude the meal! Highly recommend!

I was visiting Fremont for the day and stopped into Local Tide for lunch. Friendly staff and good chowder. Highly recommend if you are nearby!

I Highly recommended local Tide, we ordered salmon house and was great as the pictures and had a very good taste, also Staff are really friendly and polite.

So, that's a yes!

Think of Local Tide as a unique combination of order at the window for fine(r) dining cuisine while having the person taking your order also act as the host by pointing out where you should sit but doesn't actually take you there kind of joint. I'm sure that's clear as mud, but it'll make sense as soon as you walk in the door and see the menu to your right when you're standing in front of the cash register. We were lucky enough to beat the lunch rush by a few minutes so we got a 4-top inside after we ordered from the limited but excellent menu. There was a daily crab roll special so we decided to treat ourselves with the $30 price tag and give it a try. Also ordered the salmon bowl, smash burger, and fries. Breaking it down, the crab roll was good, but really small. Salmon bowl was delish (the dressing!!), and our very picky kiddo devoured the smash burger, saying that it was the best he's ever had. The fries are not traditional and were more like diced cottage fries. We'll skip those next time. The person who initially brought our water and utensils also delivered the food. He explained each dish in a chef-y kind of way, which elevated the experience. It was obvious that everyone we interacted with was very proud of the food (as they should be). The worst part of our experience? Looking at what everyone got and being disappointed that we will have to wait a bit before we return. Loved it!

Try the potatoes and the toast

By luv4phood |

Local tide has a small but perfectly executed menu. We tried the salmon sandwich, Teriyaki Salmon bowl, the salmon salad, salt and.pepper potatoes and shrimp toast. Everything was delicious but everyone agreed that the potatoes and the toast were special. The savory toast was a great balance to the Teriyaki Salmon bowl.

Can't wait to return

There were six of us in our party. Everyone enjoyed their meal and are looking forward to returning. The staff were super helpful. We all disagree with the post about the potatoes. We thought they were fabulous. We shared two plates of them. They also have a nice beverage selection.

A Crisp Fish Sandwich!

By Aaron Shelby |

My Dad and I hightailed it here one evening for dinner and thoroughly enjoyed our experience. The fish sandwich was light and perfectly prepared. It was very fresh, not greasy; you could enjoy the flavors of the fish and not the grease. I so enjoyed my sandwich. The restaurant itself is compact so be prepared to wait for a table. We were lucky to grab a seat not too long after ordering. The kitchen is partially open so you can see the chefs and cooks working their magic! Definitely get out of center city Seattle and head to Local Tide for a delicious fish sandwich!

A "Must Visit" in Seattle

By Jomanda2009 |

This place had been recommended in 3 or 4 guides to Seattle, ... and while we stood outside, 2 locals walked by and said we should eat there as well! OMG! What a fantastic experience. I jokingly told them we'd come all the way from England to eat there, and they sort of treated us as special guests (despite getting the joke). The food was so good. My wife, who on a good day will go to eleven out of ten, gave their food a twenty!!! Like the name implies, it's a seafood restaurant, but they do other food as well. I had a Rockfish bowl ... they couldn't tell me what the fish was, but it tasted great. And the rice salad .... oh wow, that really had the "X" factor! Our waiter, Nathan, was really friendly, as was the guy working front of house (whose name I didn't catch). I wanted to buy a tote bag here as well, and he said "Don't worry, I'll do you a deal". On the way out, he GAVE us the tote bag, as well as some of their potato chips (crisps) and a dip (like a taramasalata, but with bits of prawn). They were so friendly, I can't say enough good things about them, and we already can't wait to go back!

Excellent seafood at moderate price

By ECWorld |

Super cool restaurant with emphasis on local ingredients. Were there for weekday lunch, pretty busy and there was a short wait. Interesting menu, we had the chowder (heavenly), the rockfish bowl (pretty good) and the fried oyster roll (superb). Friendly service. Moderately priced, excellent food overall. Strongly recommended.

Superb Fish Sandwiches - Skip the Fries!

By Semibum |

We decided to have dinner at Local Tide after it appeared on the NY Times list of 25 Best Restaurants in Seattle. Our experience was mixed. It is a very casual hang-out for the young adults in Fremont. The ambiance is nice but very noisy. The fish sandwiches were excellent and would have rated 5-stars. Skip the salt and pepper fries, however. There was enough salt on them that, if ingested, would cause you to need kidney dialysis the next day. Knock one star off the rating for that. Another disappointment was that they had run out of bread pudding. A favorite of mine and apparently many others as well. We will have to go back and try it. We will stick with the great fish sandwiches and skip the fries!

Fun local spot - lines out the door at lunchtime

By Traveller Kate 8 |

Fun local spot - lines out the door at lunchtime. Service is friendly and efficient. We ordered the salmon sandwich and salmon teriyaki and were not overwhelmed by the food. It was fine but not memorable. Lunchtime turnover is quick but we did not feel rushed by the staff. Great way to experience the Fremont neighborhood.

Amazing service even when busy!

Maybe a bit overrated

By jwjg |

We visited at lunch on a Sunday. It’s one of those places where you queue to order and then get seated, so there can often be a line out the door. I was pretty excited to visit as I had heard that the fried fish sandwich was what a McDonald’s filet-o-fish would be like if it was actually good. So that’s what I ordered. But what turned up was a disappointment. The fish was very thin slices of Dover sole which were overcrumbed and then overcooked so that all you had was the crunch of fried breadcrumbs but the delicate fish flavour was completely lost. They use a brioche bun which overwhelms with a butter taste that didn’t seem right and the tartare sauce was creamy but without tang. They used giant hunks of lettuce and arranged it all in a way that was largely impossible to eat and on a tiny plate. Maybe we chose the wrong dish, and I’m sure there are some good things on the menu, but we were disappointed.

Must go, plus Fremont is great

PHENOMENAL seafood. Still thinking of that rockfish banh mi sandwich. Wish I would have been hungry enough to try more items off the menu. Great service and recommendations

Great fresh food

We ordered at the counter and started with deliciouns fried oysters and home made chips. Then had the salmon sandwiches, which were a hearty portion and very tasty. Finished off with the scrumptious bread pudding. Quick service. Neighborhood street parking.
