The "Vous" was a highlight of our dive bar tour. Great service, lots of drink choices, and we started off with a wonderful selection of appetizers. This is a bar's bar. No pretension here. What you see is what you get. Great environment and a lot of fun! Stop for a visit and a brew, you will not be disappointed.

Stopped by for drinks. Friendly service and inexpensive beers. Restaurant was clean, but crowded as it was a Saturday night.

A little “hole in the wall” with a surprisingly large menu and great drinks! The prices are super reasonable and its location to the subway and other parking areas cannot be beat.

It was after 10pm on Sunday night and most dining options by the Doubletree Hotel were closed. We tried an Irish Pub that was recommended by the front desk, but were turned away. We saw the Rendezvous and they were serving. They claimed to make the best Rueben in Philly, so we ordered it. The sandwich was good, but not great. We had a local beer that I enjoyed, but don't recall the name. Wait staff from friendly and attentive.

We were running late for the John Mellencamp concert at the Kimmel Center nearby and needed a place for a quick bite. This wasn't it. The kitchen was backed up, but we got our food (cheese steak and grilled cheese sandwich) in time to get to the concert before it started. In a word: delicious. There were tons of beer on draft at very reasonable prices, especially in downtown Philly, and the menu at this sports bar was larger than most. If we'd had time to relax and enjoy the atmosphere, everything would have been outstanding. Our waitress was helpful and responsive and overworked. I don't know what the kitchen issue was, but it appeared that food was coming out in the proper sequence. Next time we're in Philly, we'll certainly go back to the Rendezvous and kick back with full meals and full glasses.

Great bar in the heart of downtown Philly. We were in town three days and went three times. We didn't have any food, but it did look good (typical bar food). The drinks were great and the service was wonderful. The bartenders were always friendly and fun to chat with. It's not a super big bar, but we always found space at the bar. The chocolate martini is on point!

Went into the Rendezvous last night before a Theater event. Nice little tavern which was popping as the Eagles were playing a Sunday night game and it looked like quite a few attendees were pre-gaming there. Friendly service and Absolutely ICE-COLD Miller lights. Problem was the beer wasn't the only thing that was cold. Lukewarm French Onion soup which probably would have been good if it was hot, Buffalo Chicken salad, chicken was dry and dressing was odd. Ordered wings which were under cooked and a few were bloody inside, should have said something but just took the hit and moved on. Will probably go back but just to drink.

Arrived after 9pm at a local hotel, (4/26) and headed out for dinner. Several places nearby had stopped, serving dinner, so we stumbled upon the Locust Rendezvous. I love these types of non-chain places to eat. Large solid menu with many options, lots of comfort food, and plenty of relaxing vibes from the huge bar selection to the tv's, booths, and ambiance that allows you to talk and not have to yell. My dinner this night was the fried chicken with loaded fries. Nice simple chicken on a fresh burger roll with lettuce, tomato, and mayo. Simple and delicious. It was hard to make a dinner choice but Katrina, who provided outstanding service made some suggestions and was on the money for her suggestion and again with service. I mentioned this place later that evening to some co-workers and it seems I have been the only one who has not been here. This place has a great reputation. I'll stop back and dine again if I am nearby.

I'm so glad we visited this gem of a restaurant! We can not recommend it highly enough. The food was amazing, and the staff took great care of us. L.A. was our server, and she recommended the French Onion Soup. Absolutely delicious! The sandwiches and fries were equally yummy. Her friendly attitude also made the evening even better Finally, the fact that this place has been around for 30 years speaks volumes to its exceptional customer service. Great job, Locust Rendezvous!!

My husband & I recently stumbled upon this bar & loved it! The staff is friendly & hilarious, the drinks cold, & food is delicious! Danielle & Nora are the best!

Locust Rendezvous is nearly always my first choice when someone asks me for a tasty recommendation in Rittenhouse that won't break the bank. It's got just enough hole-in-the-wall vibe to it without being disgusting, and the regular crowd is just welcoming enough. Photohunt, great beer selection, and really well prepared bar food make it a mainstay for any solid bar-hopping night in Center City.

My brother picked me up takeout from here. A burger melt sandwich with fries. Wow. Just as I would have made it at home. The staff was very accommodating to my bro, even though the place was fully booked in an hour the manager sat them and saw to their needs. We will do it again.

Initially went in due to reasonable bar prices but then are for the same reason. Food typical American bar food but good portions. Wife only had a starter which would have been a main in England. Did bring me the wrong type of potatoes with my main but our server noticed and changed it immediately. Had numerous special drinks including black cherry cider

We were in town for an Eagles game, looking for a ‘local’ place to spend an evening for a few beers and something to eat,. After a couple of misses on other bars around, we hit the jackpot here. Loved this place, a proper bar, had locals at the bar, staff super-friendly, drinks decent. We headed back there on the Sunday for lunch and the early NFL games, the waitresses remembered us and called us by our names. Introduced us to the owner who was in having lunch and a bit of admin, Great bar, highly recommend,

Stopped in for lunch on a Saturday. Half a dozen people were there, most seemed regulars. The menu was mostly sandwiches with a few platters. Usual bar items. The sandwich was very good, and the prices were great especially for downtown eatery. Would recommend anyone to stop in for a bite.

We visited Philadelphia for three days and this was the best food we had! Prices for food and beverage were really great especially being downtown. It was packed when we walked in. The place is small and we were lucky enough to get the last little table. The atmosphere was great. Music playing was great. From David Bowie to Metric playing. We loved it! Our server was great. She memorized our orders which had a bunch of adding this subtracting this. All came perfect and very fast for how busy they were. Next visit to Philly we will be back!

Great little place to grab a bite to eat before the show. Four of us popped in here for brunch before a show at the Merriam theater and were pleased with our choice. Be aware the portions are very large. We had a variety of entrees from french toast to eggs to sandwiches. Everything was delicious and the prices were very reasonable. The place is small so give yourself ample time in case you need to wait to be seated at a table. There is also a bar with about 10 stools. Nice little find and convenient to many of the area parking garages and theaters. My only complaint is when we were finished eating our meal, the waitress brought the check without asking if we wanted anything else. We had an hour before our performance started and we were going to have a dessert and a cocktail. We paid and headed on our way.

We’re from England and stayed in Philly for 5 nights. Walked past this place, popped in for 1 drink and stayed all night! The World Series was on, complete luck as we had no idea. Met some great people and great bar snacks. We loved it, the perfect atmosphere for sports games. We’re now adopted phillys

We were in town for a lacrosse tourney. Happened upon this little bar. If you’ve watched Cheers that’s what this place is. We came back all 3 nights we were in town. Nora the manager was awesome. Philly through and through. Rene were our names and made us feel so welcomed. Drinks are good. Food is typical bar food so eat before you come. If you want to experience a local Philly bar come check it out and say hi to Nora and her crew.

Enjoyable late night bar to hang out. You don't go for the food which tries hard but doesn't really deliver. Large menu, available late but not very tasty. Great local feel and they don't rush you. Perfect for a late night any night of the week.

My best friend and her daughter and I went for an overnight trip to Philly this weekend.. We got up and out too late for the hotels cont. b'fast soooo we went on a mission to find someplace serving b'fast food around 11:30 that was not IHOP... We stumbled upon this Pub serving brunch.... The French toast was delicious and the bacon well yummmm... her daughter got the eggs platter that was offered and said it was good too!! Service was excellent and the seating was cozy! Def happy we found and went into this little bar for brunch!

The burger is my favorite; it comes with fries and pickle at $5.5. I visited this place at least once a month for lunch when I come to Philly for business. Its lunch specials are great. It has a variety of good beer. Not many tourists and retains its charm of a neighborhood pub. The decor is a bit beaten but offers the right atmosphere for folks come here to relax and enjoy time. Servers are very friendly.

I really enjoyed this place because is is not the ordinary tourist-type artificial spot. This is a little pub almost hidden from passer-bys. Inside it is comfy and easy to just have a drink and relax.

Looks much better than it did a few years ago. The menu is better but I still would not recommend the ribs. I had the Philly Steak sandwhich with provolone cheese and everything on it and it was great. My buddy had the French dip Beef with provolone and his was also excellent. Good deals on beers but make sure you ask for what's on special. The special for the day was only $3 and they also have one on tap for $2 but most of the other beers range from $5 to $6.50 so ask before you buy. It is quaint and has a decent atmosphere. I would recommend it if you are in the hotels in the area. if you find this helpful please mark it so. Berny

We started to use this boozer as it is a short walk from the nearby Hyatt where we usually stay when in Philly.English people of a certain vintage like us like to find a good local boozer near our hotel and this is it.This is a real locals bar but we've found folks to be very friendly and the staff very welcoming too.The food is hearty pub fare and we've never had a bad nosebag in here. There is a good beer selection with some good local drafts eg Yards Philly pale ale.It does get a bit noisy on a weekend but then so do most other bars in this great drinking town.If you're a fan of Philly sports teams you'll feel at home in here.We sometimes come in here for a bite to eat and a beer before heading off to watch the Phillies. If I have one gripe about the 'Vous it would be to suggest the restrooms need sprucing up a bit.Apart from that, this is a cracking bar.

Miller Lite special 3.27 for a 16oz can drew me in. I ordered wings -made extra extra crispy. There were great and just as I had ordered. The bartender and other patrons were friendly- place had a nice feel to it.

We stumbled upon little this "dive bar" around the corner from our hotel, after we checked in...hotel restaurant closed (and pricey), so we picked a street and found the Locust. Quiet afternoon, a few locals there when we walked in...we were waited on quickly and ordered Yuengling (of course) drafts, a burger and fries, and potato skins. Food was simple and good. We did check out our hotel restaurant after it opened, but clubby atmosphere was not to our liking, so we headed to the Locust again, this time at 6:00 on a Friday night-the place was packed!! We found 2 spots right at the bar, by the door, a friendly guy gave us the seats, as he was leaving in a few minutes. My friend and I had a few more beers, and both of us had salads, hers a chef, mine a spinach salad with chicken added, they were very large-meal sized, fresh and tasty. Nothing trendy, just good food. Service was friendly and prompt yet again. My only complaint was the same sex restrooms were a little dirty, someone had bad aim. Certainly not the staffs fault, but I would suggest better door locks. they were quite flimsy, wasn't crazy about that...perhaps have one marked ladies, one for the guys? Anyway, would definitely go there again if I visit Philly!!

We were looking for somewhere to eat near the hotel. We were pleasantly surprised about the food at the Vous. It was very good and the portions were very large.

If your looking for a CLEAN and FRIENDLY place to have a drink or dinner this is the place to go. It looks like a common bar from the outside but inside is very nice, price is very reasonable, and again great food.

Stopped here after a show at the Academy of Music. Very clean, Great prices, Great Grilled Reuben sandwich (they season and cook their own corned beef) - OMG, the best Reuben I've ever had!! for an extra 2.50 I ordered seasoned crab fries. My husband had the chili and onion rings on the side. Really GOOD! Nice, hot meal and very reasonable drink prices. Lots of televisions, friendly wait staff - I'll definitely go back! ps. don't be discouraged by the front entrance area - they're working on the building and lots of scaffolding out front. Go right in!

Went here for late night dinner and really enjoyed their great services (wonderful friendly servers!) and really great bar foods.

Has the feel of a neighborhood bar like you find elsewhere in the city, but right in the heart of it all. Beer is ice cold and food is really good. Waitstaff top notch, fast and friendly.

We came for a drink but no one acknowledged us or served us so we left. They looked at us but that was it and it was not busy! Maybe shift change over but I don't think so. It was weird!

This was our favorite bar to stop in while visiting Philadelphia. We went more than once. They have a great beer list. The staff was outstanding. We did grab some appetizers once and they were very good. We felt like part of the local crowd.

Friendly staff, tasty, well-priced menu, cozy and convenient. It can be tough to snag a spot, and be sure to show up early if you're coming for Quizzo. All around a fun spot with generally awesome staff and a fun, varied clientele. Look for the menu board out on the sidewalk, it's a bit easy to miss LR if you don't know what you're looking for!

My spouse and I visited Locust Rendezvous (nicknamed “The ‘Vous” twice on a Sunday in late December 2017. The first time we stopped by was for a self-created happy hour in the late afternoon, but we returned in the late evening in order to ring in the new year with our fellow patrons. The bar is open daily from late morning until 2:00 am, which is sometimes a rarity for the area. Locust Rendezvous opened in fall 1989 on Locus Street Downtown, just down the block from the Academy of Music and the Doubletree Hotel. (In fact, we were guests at the Doubletree, looking for a nearby reasonably priced comfortable place for a drink.) The space previously held a bar called Bananas. Locust Rendezvous has won several awards including best sports bar, best bar, best dive bar, best fries, best buffalo wings, and best chili. It has a comfortable neighborhood bar feel, and prices are relatively low compared to elsewhere in the city. The interior is narrow but long. A few small windows at the front allow for two larger booths/tables below, followed by high-top tables that stretch to the back of the space. A long bar provides additional seating. Wood-paneled walls, signs, and paper flyers provide the décor. Dark, loud, electronic juke-box music, and lots of TVs. Serves bar food, including fries, wings, nachos, burgers, cheesesteaks, French onion soup, and all-day breakfast. This bar doesn’t put on airs or try to be pretentious; for example, I tried to order a chocolate martini, but the somewhat surly bartender said that she didn’t have the ingredients. (I just wish that she could have suggested an alternative.) I ended up trying the poinsettia (flat champagne with some sort of red juice and garnished with an alcohol-marinated maraschino cherry [cherry bomb]), which wasn’t very tasty, and the (alcoholic) lemonade, which was a bit better. Service was quite slow at the tables, but a bit more attentive at the bar itself. Locust Rendezvous is a fun neighborhood bar where you can drink and/or eat and without breaking the bank.

Nice little dive bar near Broad St and the Doubletree by Hilton. Great drink specials and a awesome menu with very reasonable prices for Center City Philadelphia. I had the BLT for $5.50 and it was awesome. I will be back next time I'm in Phila! Friendly staff too that played good hard rockin music!

Had a nice pre=show meal at the Vous as we know it now. Good cheesesteak and buffalo wings. Cheap beer, what more could you ask for. good service.

Not a lot was open, so after a phone call to the establishment - I opted to hit my friends favorite local watering hole for lunch. Great $5 lunch special burger & fries, plus they had cool drink specials. I opted for a Maine microbrew on tap that was excellent. Burger cooked rare & to my liking. Can't go wrong at the Rendezvoous.

Went to Philly to visit a friend that recently moved there. Luckily found the Vous on our first day and stopped by each day we were there. Beers are ice cold, food is hot and fresh, regulars are friendly and staff (Michele, Roz and Sara) are attentive and just the right amount of sassy. Felt like our home away from home.

We live in the Philadelphia suburbs and went into the city to celebrate our anniversary.Because of limited options ,(you can't get on a plane) So being safe, we went into the city. After some hits and misses we found the locust rendezvous. Some would call a dive bar, We call home. Cold beer Great waitress service. Good music. And a laid back atmosphere. If you want fancy drinks, and Waitresses with a white shirt and tie go up the street. This is a beer and a shot bar. And the bar food is slamm'en

We tried to walk into this place last year, near the Academy of Music, pre-show, but the noise and crowd turned us away. This time our friends anchored a table in the rear, further away from the noise. All went well: good food, pitcher of beer, service. Well priced. If you like noisy loud music and crowds, this place will work well. If your coming before or after a performance at the Academy, well, depends on your mood, and maybe your age. Definitely a good place for the younger set who may thrive on the noise and music.
Lunch & drinks
Happened by this great place , near the Miriam Theatre. Great service, great food, reasonable prices. Meg was our server- highly recommend this friendly bar!
