We've gone for dinner twice, and recently during shelter-in-place, we ordered for takeout. As always, the young lady was very friendly and helpful, and the food, as always, genuine and tasty. It's quite light (lean) and ingredients are very fresh. The decor is modern, casual/chic. Portions are generous.

The food was very nice though delivery a little slow. The lamb was not cooked as ordered and had to be returned. Unfortunately this took the whole of our main course so he ended up eating alone. Also there was no communication from the staff this whole time and they left the unwanted dish with us so it was a bit weird. On the upside they gave us a complimentary dessert which was appreciated. We went with a toddler which worked out well too. We would return on our next visit.

Such a wonderful place all around. Being Turkish the food was very familiar. Not your normal Turkish food or kebab but a fine dining version which was so creative and well done. The service and recommendations were perfect. I am GF and most of the menu works for you. Wine selection was interesting and solid.

Came here for a Friday night dinner with friends on a reservation. The restaurant has a rustic, yet contemporary charm with large windows facing the main street. Tables are spaced out in a nice arrangement so that you have enough space between yourself and other guests. Staff are super friendly and constantly want to make customers have an enjoyable experience. On to the food, the menu is beautifully created by the head chef with a mix of smaller plates and larger entrees. You can definitely go family style and get a taste of many of the different dishes. The head Chef himself has to be given a lot of credit for creating tasty and visually appealing dishes that take a modern twist on traditional Turkish food with a nice blend of meat, seafood, and vegetarian options to keep everyone happy. In addition, the Chef will also come out on occasion to serve food and interact with the customers giving this restaurant a homely and friendly neighborhood vibe. Would highly recommend this restaurant!

Our family enjoyed the entire meal. Fish and hummus great. Wine excessively priced. Great service. Everyone left with happy memories.

Definitely worth a visit- even if it means going out of your way to do so. We came here after visiting the Legion of Honor- found it because it was relatively close. What a great find. Delicious Turkish food-- loved the dumplings with beef and yogurt & tomato sauce, the chicken, and the biggest hit was the chcolate baklava!-- first time we had had a chocolate version. Quizzically they also had Papas Bravas (with olives thrown in as a twist)-- strange to see on the menu but we weren't complaining (we actually ordered a second one!) Service was great. Offered us clean plates at every turn. Only complaint is that they are skimpy- VERY skimpy with the pita bread. We had to ask for more twice. Each time they bring like 5 small triangles of pita (for a table of five). This was disappointing and annoying. But otherwise a fantastic find!

Wonderful casual lunch experience. Great selection of brunch/breakfast items with inventive Turkish/Mediterranean flair. Friendly, helpful service. Great alternative in Richmond area. Veggie friendly. Simple and delicious. Particularly enjoyed the humus, eggplant and "Turkish" ratatouille. Reasonable prices on nice wines.

We got a table right away even when we arrived earlier.. we ordered kefta as an appetiser which was really small.the citrus salad was delicious but very small. We got a bottle of french rose wine, short ribs with mashed potatoes and eggplant staffed with ground beef. Everything was really small. As a side dish we got Patti’s bravado which were totally spoiled by nasty sauce

LOKMA was recommended to me by friends and it was delicious! Located in San Francisco’s Richmond district, they serve up Turkish/mediterranean cuisine. Get there early - they only take reservations for dinner.

We were visiting SF and wanted a lamb dish for supper. We looked online and chose this place as it was in walking distance and reasonably priced. The 3 loin chops were delicious as was an eggplant dish and a large salad. It was a busy place but they do take reservations which is a plus.

We tried Lokma while staying in a nearby AirBnB and really enjoyed it. We enjoyed 2 entrees, dessert, wine and beer. Friendly, good food, quick service, not rushed, modern decor, indoor/outdoor seating. See my photos of our experience. If you found this review useful, please click the thank button.

Breakfast here was absolutely amazing. The greek yogurt pancakes tasted like nothing I've had before. They also have kaymak which is something I've been trying to find since the first time I had it in Istanbul. The restaurant is very clean and the outdoor seating is a nice place to enjoy breakfast in the morning especially if you have a dog.

We had a great dinner experience. The venue felt homey and friendly. Fine version of Turkish cuisine. Highly recommend sharing many plates rather than having individual ones.

A great Turkish and Mediterranean food place in the outer Richmond area of SF. Better known for it’s breakfast/brunch. We went there for Dinner as we felt like eating some Turkish food. The ambiance was great, very fresh and modern. The place was packed, approx seating capacity of 40ish. Enjoyed our Dinner. We had Tzatziki, calamari with cous cous, lokma burger. Good size portions. Did not have Raki as they serve only low alcohol % drinks. Great place to eat out in SF.

We enjoyed a delicious breakfast at Lokma that included fresh fruit, yogurt, eggs, and a few Turkish specialties. Great service and everyone was very kind.

Such a neighborhood gem. We loved every bite, but the standouts were the mushroom soup (it was divine) and the homemade meat dumplings were just out of this world. The Turkish coffee was everything it was supposed to be, which is mikes apart from any other after dinner coffee. We’d go back in a heartbeat.

We just got to San Francisco around lunch time and our daughter picked us up from the airport and said that there was a little restaurant that she had been wanting to try for brunch so we went to Lokma. It was a great decision. We called ahead to make sure they had a space big enough for all of us, 4 adults and 2 kids. The lady said they had tables available and we told them we would be there in about 10 minutes. When we got there my daughter asked if they still had room for us and the lady said that she had saved us a table. It was a good thing because they had started to get busy. My wife and daughter got the yogurt pancakes and said they were delicious. I myself got the burger which was amazing! Get it the way it comes. The pickled onions make the sandwich. I will definitely being coming back.

Excellent service and brunch: papas bravas, chicken sandwich, meatball wrap and omelette. Turkish tea and Turkish coffee and lemonade.

Treated the nephews and their girlfriends to a Turkish dinner in the Richmond district. I'd been there for lunch before and the sandwiches were quite large. We found the entrees to be flavorful but small in size.

Had branzino and lamb chops with manti, beef dumplings with tomato sauce. Delicious. Place was a bit noisy, good service. A definite must. A Richmond district find, check it out. Will try again.

My husband & I went to dinner here last night and were charmed from the start by the classically simple furnishings & the variety of the diners: from a young couple with a minuscule baby to a group of young women enjoying each others' company to middle-aged & older couples. . .all seemed happy and relaxed. We soon discovered why. The food wasn't pretentious but it was excellent and beautifully presented. We started with tzatsiki and calamari, both deliciously fresh, and then opted for the Lokma Burger, made with a mix of beef and lamb and including spinach, feta, and tomato. Nothing too much, all subtly flavored. IPA went beautifully with this simple meal. Regrettably, we weren't hungry enough for a dessert which, though few in number, looked very tempting. Especially because they did not include baklava or any of the other usual offerings. Next time we will come with larger appetites and try some of the many other tempting menu items. We look forward to many future "next times." Thank you, Lokma, and bravo for this superb and unusual addition to our list of favorites

What a delight to dine at Lokma in a welcoming and warm atmosphere with absolutely delicious food and wonderful service. I so enjoyed the Presidio Salad and was tempted to try the house specialty, Manti which was heavenly. I sampled a bit of the rice pudding that evening and enjoyed the remainder a few days later as well. I will look forward to returning on my next visit to San Francisco.

We came into town to see sibs and others. My sis recommended this place since it has a sheltered "parkette" during this COVID-19 pandemic. First I asked server if they have "shwarma," or gyros. They don't so I know it is a high-end Turkish resto. The style is like tapas with all types of dishes non-stop. It was mostly vegetarian -- to the liking of most present. As mentioned by other reviewers, the service was excellent and professional. I haven't eaten an authentic Turkish meal since my shwarma in Istanbul. I still love a good shwarma.

I know very little about Turkish food but I know that I like what was presented at Lokma. We had the warm olives, zuccini dolmas, baba ganoush and lamb loin chops and they were all five star.

We stumbled on to Lokma because someone in another nearby restaurant recommended it. We liked it so much we went back a second time with equally gratifying results. The Mediterranean decor is lightly done and service is friendly and attentive. This really feels like a family or neighborhood place. The menu was relatively simple, but the Mediterranean theme choices were rich. We all found numerous dishes appealed to us. The food arrived promptly and was remarkably fresh in flavor, with pleasing textures, and cooked to perfection. The flavors proved to be both robust and subtle--a little zip when needed but never over powering. My guess is that in a year or so you won't be able to get a seat as more and more people discover Lokma.

The server was very friendly. There were a few gluten free options on the menu, but the lunch menu didn't have many choices that were allergy friendly. The kitchen uses soy oil for cooking the potatoes, chicken, and other men options that are sautéed or friend. The salad dressings also contain soy oil. If you have a soy allergy like I do that limits food options. I had a salad with no dressing and extra olives and avocado for lunch.

We were a table of 3, I walked in at a little before 9 am on a weekday and I was the only one. I was wondering if this place was any good since it was so empty, (I hadn't realized that they open at 9 am. ;) Within 30 minutes though the place was quite packed! The service was excellent, the owner Emre was attentive but not overly so, and even though we were there for probably 3 hours (work meeting), we never felt rushed. We ordered the Turkish Breakfast for 2 and the Turlu Omelet to split. My first impression was that they were almost works of art, and this is coming from someone that deep down inside doesn't care how it looks as long as it tastes great. It was just enough food for one large eater (me) and two normal eaters. The Omelet was great, but one of the seasonal hummus (a nut flavored one) and the kaymak (clotted cream) dish were simply divine! I would definitely come here again and want to try their burgers next time!

While so many restaurants strive for some sort of ethnic authenticity, it is an almost impossible task. As soon as a restaurant is no longer located in its native country, what it serves is a compromise. At Lokma, the chef has stayed true first to the wonderful ingredients that one can source in northern California. Next, Lokma's chef has stayed true to texture, flavors, and colors of Turkish cuisine without trying to "recreate" Turkish food in San Francisco. There is no compromise on the dining experience here. I have had four dinners here over the course of a month here. Several of the dishes i have ordered on multiple occasions were spot on every time. The lamb kofte starter is a generous portion of beautifully grilled ground lamb "meatballs" that do not hide the lamb flavor. The watermelon salad is a delight with fresh watermelon and feta cheese, micro greens, tomatoes, olives, and tasty olive oil dressing - it's a feast for the eyes and for the palate. Stand outs in the mains include a crowd pleasing lamb/beef burger cooked to order with pickled onions served on a delicate toasted bun and crisp and creamy roasted potatoes. This could become your new favorite burger in San Francisco. Manti, a dish of tiny little beef dumplings served in a tomato and yogurt sauce is a nod to a traditional Turkish favorite and tastes like my grandmother made it. A visually stunning and amazingly tasty dish is the whole grilled branzino. All dishes have a generous garnish of fresh greens, tomatoes, and olives. The fig and kaymak (clotted cream) French toast is an unusual and delicious dessert, as is the nut filled wiry pastry called burma that is reminiscent of the flavors and textures of a lighter baklava. The Turkish coffee is strong, fresh, and brewed to order with the amount of sugar you desire (plain "sade", little "az", medium "orta", or lots of sugar "sekerli"). Beer and wine are available including one Turkish light pilsner (Efes) and two Turkish red wines. Corkage is also very reasonable for those wanting to bring their own wine. Located at the eastern most edge of the Outer Richmond, the decor is inviting, service is outstanding, and there a few outdoor tables. The biggest challenge is parking, so I highly recommend public transportation or a taxi/uber/lyft.
Fun, interesting bite to eat.
We had the breakfast sharing platter between three of us and it worked well. Nice decor and good service.
