Great Steakhouse

By Mary P |

We had a large party and luckily they were able to accommodate us within a short period of time. The steaks were excellent along with the price. The only reason I’m not giving it five stars is that my DIL didn’t receive her lobster tail for some time. They did comp her for her wait. A great time with my son, daughter in law and friends!

Horrible

By Eva A |

Hello my name is Carlos Armstrong, My daughter was having a birthday dinner and chose the longhorn steakhouse at 9900 S I10 Frontage road 78748 in Austin Tx. We traveled from San Antonio to provide her with a dinner at the restaurant she wanted to go do. Our vehicle was broken into, my wife’s purse was stolen, this place had no lights, no security cameras, and we paid almost $400 for dinners we didn’t even eat. The manager had no compassion about our situation, the police won’t even make a report for 14 days. My wife and I have been married for 28 years, the very first wedding ring I purchased for her was stolen out of that vehicle and the keys to my wife’s mini van were also stolen that we have to get new sets of keys to and reprogrammed. This was the most expensive dinner with all our losses ever. I am really hurt and disappointed by the reaction from the longhorn staff concerning this incident. We worked really hard for our money and don’t deserve to get it taken like that as a result of lack of security/surveillance or lighting. I don’t write many reviews, but I am writing this review because I am watching my wife cry her eyes out right now. So my advice to anyone that wants to visit this location I would think twice and take my money elsewhere because the money over people is not a good look. But if you decide to visit this location just remember our story. And when I spoke to the manager he stated that this happens all the time. My son was there, he called one of his friends and they stated the same thing happened to them at the same location 6months earlier. So it seems to be a common occurrence at this location and the owners of this establishment don’t seem to be doing anything to curtail this type of activity. God is still a good god, god 1st and may god bless everyone in these turbulent times, very heartbroken. If ownership would like to reach out to my wife, and console her at 409-293-6432     ⁃    Sincerely the Armstrongs

Mixed quality

By Chuck R |

Longhorn Steakhouse was a bit of a mixed experience, some of our large party had good food prepared perfectly and others not. I ordered the bone-in Outlaw Ribeye, one of their signature cuts currently being advertised on TV. I expected a juicy, tender steak full of flavor. My steak was tough, dry and not very flavorful. Perhaps I got one of the few bad cuts in the restaurant that night. I would have sent it back if we had more time. My wife had the filet and she loved it. Another family member sent back her baby back ribs to be reheated. I must say the complaints only relate to a few dishes. The service was fantastic. We were very happy with the atmosphere of the restaurant as well as our table. I will give Longhorn another try in the future and if the food isn’t up to par that will be the last time we go.

Lovely

Nothing too much trouble. Great service. Salmon and steaks are superb along with the lovely salads and dressings. Please do visit if in the area

Meal Was Fantastic

By Gwen M |

Had the Redrock Grilled Shrimp and rice with the strawberry and pecan salad. I really enjoyed it. The shrimp was cooked perfectly and the salad was amazing.

OMG! Grilled White Cheddar Stuffed Mushrooms!

By ATX_Golfer_n_Foodie |

Popped into Longhorn Steakhouse tonight to see what's new on the menu and OMG! the Grilled White Cheddar Stuffed Mushrooms are awesome! Also tried the Pepper Crusted 8 oz. Filet & Shrimp with Fire Grilled Corn on the Cob and a Caesar salad - what a feast! Everything was cooked perfectly and delicious. She loved the stuffed mushroom appetizer and was surprised at the size of her chicken fried steak ... so much so she brought at least half of it home. You just can't go wrong when you visit Longhorn Steakhouse.

Overpriced for average food

By KCnana2014 |

We love steakhouses, but this one was just so-so. I got the regular rib-eye with a side of mushrooms, a "loaded" baked potato (not), and while I was satisfied when I finished, I was not wowed. My husband had one of their special summer sizzlers with what was supposed to have a "blue cheese crust," but it just had a little dab of cheese melted on top and was very salty. We each had a cheapo glass of wine with dinner and no dessert, and the tab was close to $90 with tip. Not worth the trip back.

First Time's a Charm

By TallyHoHoHo |

Our first visit here was fabulous. The steaks were good, the prime rib was excellent, & the appetizers great. Service was attentive. We were excited to find a new steak place in South Austin. So, we went back last week and found to our dismay, that you can never go back. Our server was distracted. He brought our salad, appetizers & meal pretty much all at one time. I absolutely HATE having a table full of food that is getting cold. I could do that at my house! The steaks were mediocre. They were over cooked. The seer on mine made the steak tough and dry. The best part of the meal was the bread and the corn fritter appetizers. I'd go back for those, but I think I'm done ordering steaks here.

The steak wasn't the best but not bad

By RKC2406 |

The place is clean and the location is great. This is a fast food steakhouse. The salad was great. Food was average.

Super Service & Great Steaks

By Kathleen W |

This is a great steakhouse chain. We've never had a bad steak! Plus their Primetime Burger is fantastic, huge! Service is always great too! We love Eric & Paul - always have great suggestions!

Great food

By Jake662013 |

Food was wonderful, perfectly prepared steaks and salmon. Salad was OK, not terrific (dressing not great). Fresh veggies were terrific. Wonderful experience.

Good Food

By bb552015 |

The steak and salad was very tasty and good. The atmosphere was nice and not as loud as similar restaurants. Good place to take a date.

Rare Filet !

By Teresa O |

Our second visit was a good as the first.! This is a good location for steak, and service. The potato, leak gratin and the 6 oz. rare filet is a must try. Save some room for the coffee and the dessert sampler. With 3 aults working on the sampler it was still more than we could finish. The Longhorn Steakhouse will be one of our favorit stops in Austin, Im sure it will be your favorite as well.

Good place to get a good steak

By Grady C |

Prices were reasonable I would go back again.

GREAT! steak house

By maria100mato |

Great steaks and juicy, when travel to Texas we go back for a visit, great atmosphere and service to visit with your family!! Tray once and you will comeback for more!!! Our granddaughter is very picky, but this restaurant won her trust on the steaks so did my Daughter that she does not eat meat! very often.

Horrible service from Bartenders

By pjkaye55 |

I have dined here many times and usually sit at the bar because I am by myself. Last night 11/6/2015 had the worst service ever. I was choking and asked bartender for a glass of water and she said OK, but went on with what she wanted to do and ignored me. Finally another bartender came along and since I was still choking she gave me a glass of water when I asked.

Very good restaurant

By MFAW_NDT |

We (the family) like this restaurant very much, the food is always very good and the range of selections is also very good. The staff has always been nice during our visits so there is nothing to complain about!

very good steak for mid class

By Rainer S |

Longhorn is not one of the top class steakhouses, but it offers very good Steaks at a mid size Price. I was surprized to have eaten for around 34 Dollars such a perfect Steak. it was worth it. so Texas Feeling is given as well

Quick dinner at the Longhorn.

By russminton |

While not much different in decor than other chain steak houses, the Longhorn did prove to have a couple of excellent offerings. Flo's Filet was perfectly prepared, flavorful, and very tender; well worth trying. The Chicken Tortilla Soup was filled with tender chicken and was a very flavorful broth. The tortilla strips were a bit soggy and should be added just before serving. Overall, the Longhorn Steakhouse was worth the stop for dinner. Service was quick and efficient.

Happy Hour

By Kathleen W |

Once again we had a great time at Longhorn Steakhouse. This time we came for their Happy Hour from 4-7 pm and had their 'sliders' with a glass of wine. They were so good that we even ordered another. Our server was Eric again but Cheeto who also works there stopped by to say hello. Another great time at Longhorn's...

What a surprise!

By CarSic |

Our group of 16 decided to try Longhorn Steakhouse this week. What a wonderful surprise. The restaurant was nicely decorated, with a nod to longhorn cattle of course, and very clean. The food was just about the best I've had so far in the Austin area. We've gone to some of the touted by restaurant reviewers and were disappointed with our meals. Not so here. Every person in the group enjoyed what they had ordered. That's saying something since our group ordered chicken, fish, salads, and steaks. The service was fast and attentive without hovering. Best of all, the meals were so reasonably priced for what we ordered. My husband and I can hardly wait to go back.

Extraordinary Customer Service

By TXGarfield |

After spending many hours at the Lone Star LeMans in Austin we stopped in at Longhorn Steakhouse, which we don't have near Dallas Fort Worth. The dinner was great. The service was outstanding. In particular, Danny, our server had one of those attitudes that makes you feel at home and special. This Longhorn Steakhouse will be our go to place when we are in the Austin area.....

Delicious steak

By Bamatumbleweed |

Stopped by for dinner here after a social event in Austin. We ordered the steak with caesar salad and baked potato. they immediately bring a loaf of bread to the table immediately after being seated. Bread is not my favorite food, but for those who do love bread, this is nice. We ordered sweet iced tea. It wasn't quite sweet enough, but they did had sweetners available at the table. The baked potato, salad and steak were very good. A little pricey. Altogether a good experience.

Been a long time since i have been to a Longhorn's

By Darryllebrun |

I wanted steak the night I went there, and there wasn't much around the hotel. Decided to Uber it to Longhorn's and I have no regrets. Decided on the Ribeye and it was perfectly cooked and the best steak I have had in a very long time. I sat in the bar area and the bartender was awesome. He recommended a local lager and wasn't wrong in the suggestion. Did I mention how happy I was with the ribeye? OMG I didn't need to cut....

Not up to par by Longhorn standards

By TravelingFootballDad |

We are home based out of Wichita, KS -- we have a couple of Longhorn's in the city and I would argue this establishment delivers some high quality steak and service Surprisingly, the Austin establishment did not live up to the expectations we have come toe expect from Longhorn, both in food quality and in service Our visit was on a Monday night - typically a slower night for many places - they were surprisingly busier than I had expected, which could have accounted for some of the issues... The steaks, overall, were prepared properly and quite tasty -- a little cool though (not cooking temp cool, but like had not been kept under the heat lamp or served promptly -- exterior was cool) The lobster mac and cheese, a featured item, was bland and borderline cold -- another in our party ordered the same thing, with same results, bland and borderline cold Service was slow - appeared the server was more concerned about helping two other servers with an 8 person table next to us than she was about keeping drinks filled, bread on the table or even making sure our entire order came out at the same time (albeit close, still not at the same time) Overall, we have come to expect a fairly high standard of service and food quality from Longhorn, especially amongst chains... In this case, Austin didn't live up to our expectations -- might have been an off night, might be characteristic of this location, don't know -- not being locals to Austin, I suspect our next trip through, we will find something different to try as not to risk being disappointed, since Austin has an immense selection of easting establishments to choose from.

Nice Dinner

By markstorey |

We had a last minute urge for steak, and we were more motivated to have someone else cook and clean up the Neal. Longhorn filled the bill! Although a little bit stringy, my steak was juicy and flavorful and my wife's ribs had a lot of flavor without being drowned in sauce. We will definitely go back when we want steak, or neither of us can "take the kitchen," at home.

Amazing food and service

By Lawrence S |

If you are looking for an extremely good place for steak, LongHorn Steakhouse will deliver everything as promised. We arrived for an early dinner, and were seated immediately. The interior is an interesting amount of Texas and cowboy genre. Our server was attentive, quick and helpful. One of our group had the prime rib, another rib eye and I had the NY strip steak. Each of our orders included how each should be prepared, and the chef did an excellent job. Each steak was done as ordered to perfection. The mashed potatoes were superb, as was the broccoli and slaw. Overall, this was an exceptional meal and well worth the amount of the check. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Great Food, Great Service!

By Zachary1998 |

For a long time my husband and I went to another steakhouse, but the food and service went downhill. A friend told us about Longhorn Steakhouse, so we decided to give it a try. We have been going to Longhorn for over a year. The food is great and very reasonable. They have a nice variety of food. Our favorite server is Joshua H. He is always very helpful, courteous, attentive and professional. He always make sure we have what we need or want. You can't go wrong with Joshua H. All the servers are very good. We hope your experience is as good as ours has been.

Best filet ever!

By Drtaxman |

We've been on the Whole 30 program, which excludes dairy, grains, and sugars. It's normally difficult to eat out, but not here!! In fact, we are big filet eaters, and their filet was the best we've ever had...super tender and very well seasoned. I told them of our dietary restrictions, and they suggested different items on the menu and were very happy to accommodate our needs! Great meal! In fact, as we are traveling, we look for other Longhorn Steakhouses in which to dine! Highly recommend for adults and teenagers!!

Average steakhouse

By WendyM |

The staff was very good; knowledgeable , friendly , efficient . The steak was good and cooked correctly. The pasta was also pretty good. However, for the price it did not impress us. The fried green tomatoes did.

Best Dinner in Austin !!

By Teresa O |

We choose the Longhorn Steak House as our final dinner of our vacation, and we were not disappointed. Friendly helpful hostess staff cleared off a both for us quickly. I ordered the 7oz filet rare with the asparagus with lemon butter, it was in the top 3 filets of my career of loving and eating beef... the steaks come in fresh and are never frozen, and they are a high quality meat. Save room for dessert, we ordered the sampler which is three of the most popular desserts. The Mountain top Cheese Cake, Carmel Apple Gold rush with vanilla ice cream, and Chocolate stampede. you owe it to yourself to check out Longhorn Steak house, we will make time to stop here next time we visit Austin.

Excellent service, nice atmosphere

By Barbie L |

We went on a late Sunday afternoon, it was quiet and very nice inside. Our server, Trey, was excellent. We ordered a Ribeye and a Prime Rib, ribeye was ok, nothing spectacular and Prime Rib was tough. We won't order that again. White cheddar stuffed mushrooms our server recommended was fabulous! I really liked the okra as well, not too much breading. Overall, we will be going back but more for the atmosphere and excellent service, and won't be ordering the Prime Rib again.

Great Filet

By Steve D |

When I think of really good chain steakhouses, Longhorn is one of the first that comes to mind. I ordered the 10 oz. Flo's Filet with baked sweet potato and blackberry tea. The steak was tender, cooked perfectly, tasted delicious, and was a hearty portion. The sweet potato was also done perfectly and was a large potato. The blackberry tea was delicious and in a nice, large glass. The meal came with a loaf of complimentary wheat bread which was warm, soft, and delicious. The atmosphere was relaxing. The service was fast and very friendly. The prices are pretty reasonable.

Anniversary Dinner

By DavidLowe0228 |

Had only ate here once before and thought it was good so would try it out again for our 5th Wedding Anniversary. I love the decor of this place with a big longhorn above the bar, but you want to know about the food and service. We let the server know it was our anniversary and she provided a free appetizer. We had the Wild West Shrimp. Wow this could almost be the entree it was so big and sooooo good. Just the right amount of spice. We chose the two for one price dinner. We had the Sirloin Portabello Mushroom steak. It just melted in your mouth. The baked potato was cooked just right and just loaded to the hilt. We then had the chocolate moose desert, again this was enough for a meal in itself. Our server was on top of it at all times, ensuring we always had bread and our drinks were always full. Walked out totally stuffed and the food was awesome. Will definitely be returning.

Great staek

By I V |

Overall great steak and drinks. My wife had a steak salad, son and I had a ribeye steak. The waitress was ok, she did not check up on us as frequent, we had to waive her down a couple of times, but she did respond. They were not that busy, it was a Tuesday.

Decent food for a chain

By Apanda8 |

I had a $25 gift card to Longhorn that I was given almost a year ago and finally decided to use it tonight for dinner. Before coming here I did look online at their allergen menu to find out what I could eat while dining in for dinner since I am dairy and gluten free. Upon arrival we were immediately welcomed and taken to our table. I ordered the Flo's filet 6 oz medium rare, sweet potato plain and a side salad. I made sure to inform the waiter that I am dairy free and gluten free. I was slightly concerned when my salad came out with cheese but it was immediately corrected and had no issues with the rest of my meal. Overall my experience with the food was better than last time I came to a Longhorn. The steak was tasty and the sweet potato was yummy. The salad was a little bland and had some browning lettuce but a side is a the least of my concerns. My husband ordered the sirloin med rare, okra and fries. The steak was more rare but no complaints from my husband about that. He did enjoy the fries and said they had a special seasoning on them that he enjoyed. My husband also enjoyed his okra as anything that is breaded and or fried is delicious. He was however a little disappointed that he didn't get any complimentary bread. I am not sure what happened but right after we showed up our waiter seemed to get very busy. Overall decent food for a chain restaurant. I do need to note my Moscow mule that I ordered with dinner tasted like it was a virgin Moscow mule which was a little disappointing since the drink was $8.

Not bad at all

By Joel M |

The steak here is not the best I have ever had but it wasn't bad. The service is pretty good. Good parking. Lots of indoor seating. You can get steak and the usual sides, plus a little dinner salad for not a bad price. Overall, pretty good. Good for friends, family, and couples.

Pleasant environment. Clean

By lcrib |

We’ve been to several Longhorn’s and the dining room was nicer than most. The steak was prepared as ordered. Nice staff.

Super Happy Hour

By Kathleen W |

We moved here from Chicago and have been trying lots of restaurants in the area & also near us and we love Longhorn Steakhouse especially for their Happy Hour (4-7) for about $20 (for two) you can get their prime sliders & a glass of vino & bourbon & coke. We've also been there & had their dinners which are suburb.

Great Service

By BandJTravels |

Our waiter was professional, courteous, and probably on of the most professional waiters we have had in a while. The food was good, the restaurant was clean and our overall experience led us to decide to come back on our next visit to Austin. We travel here often, and are always looking for nice places to bring business associates for lunch. This one is on our list now!

Don't Bring your Friends Here

By Rosalyn P |

This is not a place I would invite friends to because it's a toss up if you can get the item's on the printed and on line menus. Management takes no responsibility for not ordering needed items. It's the customers responsibly to find out if the item wanted is stocked. Thank goodness for excellent wait staff and good food when available. Management need training on customer service.

2nd best steak I have had in America.

By Brad G |

Was expecting a lot, and it delivered. The size, the flavour, the cut and overall quality was a 9.5/10. The best steak I had was at the Long Horn steakhouse in Kansas City the weekend prior. The only thing that was a bit dissapointing was the service. A booked table of 7 and they squeezed us onto a table for 6. And the waitress wasnt interested.

Great steak

By Amanda B |

The Food was great, Lobster tail a must! Service was just as good! I recommend the Crusted asparagus as well! The 6 chocolate cake was Amazing.

Great food and service

By Alena P |

Always good food and clean environment. Great service. We went for lunch and the 7pepper steak salad was wonderful and the stuffed mushrooms. They even understood gluten free and keto. Made it easy to order. We will be back over and over again.

Hidden Gem

By TGFG |

Its hard to see from the freeway but excellent food and service. Had the 12oz ribeye and it was excellent. This is a mid-priced steak that is a good choice

Average service, not as good as first

By Mr M |

I'm writing this as a 'more than once' visitor, so I feel I have a decent enough set of occasions, to write a good review of this place. Overall the other experiences had been ok, the first time being the best one. With such a good first visit, we went back a few times and even took other people to get food. This last visit was a bit of a problem for my wife and I, having celebrated her birthday, our new born baby and my in-laws 35th birthday.. quite the celebration we hoped! My in-laws ordered the 'to share' Porterhouse, and we ordered a sirloin (my wife) and a new york strip (me). The porterhouse was 'ok' but the delivery/service was 'ok'. My wifes sirloin was not cooked that great, and my NY Strip was extremely fatter all the way through, so only got half a steak in reality. The service itself over the meal was poor considering the amount we ordered, including appetizers and desserts. My father in law got the wrong wine, and when he ordered a 'regular lager' got something that was not, being told that 'we don't have lager on tap' but yet I had a lager (large) from the tap.. very strange. We tipped ok, purely as a 'i guess you tried..' but I don't think we would return. Austin has a lot of other options, I'd say people should consider those before trying this place.

Can't go wrong ...

By ATX_Golfer_n_Foodie |

You can't go wrong getting a steak at Longhorn Steakhouse but the rest of the menu can be overlooked. Finally ordered something "non-beef" and the Napa Grilled Chicken was some of the juiciest and delicious chicken I've encountered. I was not disappointed not having a steak (very rare for me). Their Shrimp and Lobster Mac n Cheese as well as the Potato & Leek Au Gratin are most excellent sides to be had.

Not what it used to be

By kami4830 |

My friend and I come here at least once a month and the last 3 times we have had problems problems with service and wrong food dishes.staff doesnt seem as upbeat and attentive as the once were ex after being seated took forever to get drunk orders then we had to ask for bread food was good but not what picture showed ordered wings picture shows 4 each of drumettes and tips and twice now the order wasn't like the picture server should double check what's ordered vs what's on the plate

Got my steak fix

By Carol B |

My husband and I enjoyed our meal at Longhorn Steakhouse. I had the 12 oz strip and came close to finishing it. My husband had the 10 oz salmon. The service is quick and good. The manager or assistant manager came by the table to make sure everything was okay.

Not as good as Atlanta locations

By WendyM1023 |

Really hoping to love my dinner but it fell short. Used to live in Atlanta and Longhorn was a go to place for a wonderful meal. This location got the salad right...amazing ranch dressing...but the steak was not impressive. Feeling a bit let down. If I come again I'll probably skip the steak. Service was good.

Good place

By Fernando F |

I like Longhorn! I've been there several times. Most of the times I order ribeye and they deliver good food, mac & cheese is also very tasty!! This is a pretty affordable place, by the way. Whenever I want to eat a nice piece of meat and don't want to spend more than a hundred bucks on those finest places, I go to Longhorns and it has never been disappointing! I guess I'll keep going there for a while.

Dinner

By Juan S |

Had dinner here last wk. The Robert 11 oz was exceptional. Cooked just right the loaded baked potatoe was right on the Mark. Staff was friendly. However, a little slow. Great place to stop during heavy traffic times. Lol.

Good steak

By Sandra Y |

We were in Austin for Formula One. The atmosphere was quite pleasant, easy to have a conversation, and very good steak. We tried the ribeye and filet. All the steaks were cooked just right, tasty beef, and good service. My husband could not finish his ribeye, a good amount of food for the price.

Great dinner

By Adam G |

I had the Outlaw ribeye and baked potato, my wife had the Flo filet...both were really good. I have ate at several Longhorn's before and this one was probably the best. We will be back.
