We heard the prime rib was........

By Donald H |

We went for the prime rib and it was primo. But first, we had a salad, mine the house salad with blue cheese dressing. My wife had a Caesar salad. Both were excellent, plus the bowls were cold. The prime ribs and the loaded baked potatoes did not disappoint either. Both arrived prepared as we ordered, rare and medium rare. The baked potatoes were really baked, none of those microwaved potatoes here. We had great service to go with the meal. I know this is a chain restaurant but you would not know it by the quality of the prime ribs. I cannot wait to try it again.

Excellent food, reasonably priced

By drmayag |

We always eat at Longhorn ‘s when we travel to the US. The steaks are excellent, I had the New York strip and my huthad the ribeye. Both were of high quality meat and done to perfection, medium as we asked. The best side was creamed spinach. The service was rapid and attentive. We had a great dinner!!

Good as always

We love to eat at Longhorn Steakhouse..the food is delicious and the atmosphere is outstanding..but what makes our meal really great is Sal..he is always going out of his way to make our dinning experience out of this world. ..Sal's knowledge and experience of food service always makes dinning at Longhorn incredible. And the general manager David makes our visit feel like we are at home. Venus Barrera

Great Atmosphere and food

By Shaun1254 |

We were a party of about 14. They quickly set a table for us. Food was great and service fast and friendly. The 32 ounce porterhouse steak was amazing. We went back 3 more times during our stay.

Excellent service and food. And good prices. We order the spicy chicken for entree, baby back ribs and NY steak were sooooo good. We almost licked our fingers.

After a long day

By fredbritnell |

The Longhorn steakhouse, is a really nice restaurant to chill out after a long day visiting the attractions in San Antonio, the steak was just what the doctor ordered, delicious, cooked to perfection, the staff very friendly , and attentive, I would recommend this restaurant, very reasonable price.

The waitress made things right

By Ricardo V |

We were traveling back home from a conference and decided to stop for lunch. The place looks really nice. I decided to order the outlaw steak. The picture in the menu was convincing. I ordered my steak medium and it came out well done and dry. I dislike complaining, but when you're paying a good amount it really leaves you unsatisfied when you're not getting what you wanted. I went ahead and mentioned it to the waitress and showed her the steak. She had a great attitude about it and got the problem fixed right away. The waitress is the reason for the 4 stars. If it was based solely on her I would give a rating of 5 stars.

Great food

By Pru |

My husband and I had a great lunch here. He had the NY steak med rare and I had the delicious shaved prime rib sandwich. The NY was perfectly done and seasoned. My sandwich was on a nice soft bun (not the kind that will rip your gums), and the prime rib was so tender and flavorful. Lisa M. was our server. She was efficient, friendly, and knowledgeable. This was our first visit to a Longhorn and we will be back, for sure. Very good experience.

Great Food As Always

We visited for lunch one Sunday after church. We were a party of 6 and we were seated quickly, attended to just as fast and we all loved our food choices. Our waitress was great, friendly, efficient and fun.

Great value

By Nancy Lynn H |

I found this place when I went to the North Star Mall and I'm glad I did. If I lived in S.A. I would go there often! I had the steak and shrimp...gorgeous large crisp shrimp, a total of 8, and a 7 oz top sirloin, which though perfectly medium rare and tender, was somewhat livery in taste and texture as though overmarinated. The loaded spud was fluffy and delightful. Happy hour meant a $4 glass of cabernet for me. Attentive service, great staff, And my total was under $25--great value.

Mothers Day brunch

By yvette m |

It was horrible. The hostess was rude. The food was cold and had no flavor. I had a steak and rice pilaf.

Excellent

By Alicia W |

From the time that we arrived service was excellent, our waitress was amazing. I ordered the Filet mignon MED RARE and Lobster tail and rice Pilaf. This is by far the best cut of meat I've eaten in my life. It was so tender I was able to use only my fork to cut it! The staff really went above and beyond to make this dining experience the most amazing. I would go back to this location anytime I am in San Antonio!

Great food & service

By sherrylbercaw |

I tried the el Diablo chicken with a pablano queso on top. Yummy! My friend had a ribeye steak that was cooked to perfection and melted in her mouth. We received excellent service by “Diamond”.

Smell of mildew, food was average

By Karen G |

We just ate dinner here last night. It's in our neighborhood, so the location is great...however the smell is sadly old and distinctly of mildew. They clearly need new carpet or hard floors to combat that smell. The food was pretty good - I had the salad with grilled chicken and my husband had the same salad with broiled salmon. The waitress was fantastic. Just a shame that they don't take care of that smell!

Very Good for Dinner

By Funtraveler2014 |

We arrived late on a Friday night after trying to make reservations to no avail. We were told a 20 minute wait but when we arrived we were seated immediately. The restaurant is large and also has a large bar area. We ordered fried green tomatoes and they were wonderful. I can also recommend the fried portobello mushrooms. Our waitress brought us a warm loaf of bread and butter which was also very good. The steaks are good and overall, this is a good place for dinner.

Great Steaks & Burgers!

By Pocahontas5005 |

My Mother lives in San Antonio and while I was visiting, she wanted to eat at Longhorn Steakhouse. We were both satisfied with our meals and will eat there again. I had the 12 oz ribeye for $15 and she had one of the hamburgers for about $8. The only thing that disappointed me was that I wanted to add a house salad to my meal, but it was going to cost another $4+ and I thought that was too high. The steak was juicy and tender and cooked the way I ordered it and her burger was juicy and cooked the way she ordered it. The staff is friendly and the manager stops by your table to make sure everything is OK. The restaurant also has some seafood, chicken, and salad items. I love the atmosphere, you feel like you're in a fancy steakhouse. I can't wait to eat at another one!

A Great Place to Have a Good Steak at a Decent Price

By RABabcock |

This is a restaurant that I visit frequently. The bartender, Greta Cantu is outstanding and makes some of the best margaritas and the food is meat-driven but at a decent price, especially for lunch. Servers like Ashley Guerra, Sal, and Ashley Sandoval are knowledgeable and very friendly. The manager, David strives for a positive environment with delicious food for every customer. Normally, the menu changes seasonally. Currently the Bison Meatballs, Green Beans with Melted Gouda Cheese and Spicy Chicken Bite appetizers are very good. The tables and booths are set up for private conversations or large groups celebrating something special.

Good juicy steak!

By Becky N |

This is a good bet for an inexpensive steak dinner. However, there were a few drawbacks. There was no wait for a table. We arrived around 6:15 pm for an early dinner on a Monday night. There were only a few other customers at that time and we were seated immediately. Hot fresh bread was brought to our table and was really very good. But why do so many restaurants insist on serving ice cold, hard butter with the bread? You wind up smashing and tearing your bread trying to spread a dab of butter. How about serving softened butter with the bread? We ordered a "Black and Blue" margarita, made with fresh blackberries and blueberries. It was yummy and was a generous portion. The shaker, with more margarita in it, was left on the table for us to refill our glass when we were ready for more, so it was like getting 2 drinks in 1. I liked it. Then we waited quite a long while.... commenting that we wished our salads would arrive because we were really hungry.... when finally our server arrived bearing our entrees. We said we hadn't even gotten our salads yet. He was a very nice guy, and was very apologetic, said he would bring our salads right away. So we started on the entrees and a few minutes later he returned with salads. It really messed up the flow of the meal, but stuff happens. He just made a mistake, but considering how the restaurant was really not at all busy, it was a serious gaffe. When a mistake like this happens, many places will do something for you, like comp a dessert or something, but that did not happen here. My steak was very tender and juicy, but it had quite a bit more fat on it than usual. I like lean meat so I always order a NY Strip. This one was not as well trimmed as it could have been but otherwise was delicious. Baby back ribs were also very good. The salads were pretty standard fare. Fresh and crisp, but pretty basic iceberg lettuce with a few garnishes. For the price, you can get a good steak here. I'd have given it four stars if not for the lapse in service. This restaurant is very close to Fiesta Texas and to the Rim and La Cantera shopping, so can be a good choice for tourists. However, its location at the crossroads of 2 major freeways (Loop 1604 and I-10) may be confusing to out-of-towners. It is on a one-way access road, maybe a little tricky to navigate if you are not familiar with the area.

Lunch on our way home

By barry b |

We were out yesterday and decided to stop in to the Longhorn steak house for a couple of Hamburgers. We have had them before and they are always good if you just want a small meal and not a large steak. They did not disappoint and were as good as usual. They have several types to choose from but add bacon is never a bad idea!!

Disappointed

By Bruce B |

I love steak. And I've always been a fan of Longhorns. But lately the consistency of food has been mediocre. Maybe your experience will be better. Sometimes mine is good, sometimes it's terrible. Like playing the food lottery anymore. Good luck to you and your and Merry Christmas

You definitely have to eat here!!!

By Sharon D |

We go to Longhorn Steakhouse every chance we get. The food selection is excellent, the drinks are very tasty, and the desserts are wonderful. We've eaten at several locations, and the service is excellent at all of them!

Pretty good

By Ellen L |

It's a chain but food is usually consistently good. Did have a hair on one of our plates but it was quickly corrected. Often busy with large groups. Lots of flavored teas.

Excellant Food/Outstanding Service

By A400Excel |

My wife and I eat out several times a week and it is seldom we find a restaurant with the quality of food and outstanding service as we experience here. Food was cooked to perfection and the service provided by Ashley S, our server, was beyond outstanding. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting a rewarding dining experience.

Best steak ever

By Perramason |

I've enjoyed many steaks at different restaurants. Most of them were good, but contained gristle. The steak I got at Longhorn was good - done just how I asked (a little pink in the middle) for a very reasonable price with a good baked potato and good bread. My friend joined their club before going, so we got an appetizer free. We chose the mushrooms with cheese on top - WOW, was it good! The waitress was very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a really good steak at a reasonable price.

Very Good Steak

By 808MikeN |

I enjoyed my steak grilled to perfection and loaded-baked potato very much. I did not try their steak sauce. Frankly it didn't need any. Mixed green salad was pretty fresh, crisp and refreshing. It just hit the spot for me. Due to the very crowded dining room, my bread was forgotten, but it was corrected once I requested it. Come and enjoy your steaks here.

New Additions to Menu

By Diane M |

My family, including our 2 grandsons, ate lunch yesterday at the Longhorn Steakhouse in San Antonio. We were promptly seated and our waitress was courteous and friendly. I ordered the new Tomato Basil Soup and the Strawberry Pecan Salad, which are Summer additions to their menu. The salad was very good, but the soup was the best I have ever eaten. it was flavorful and was topped with crusty croutons and grated cheese. Yum!!. Everyone enjoyed their meal. We have never been disappointed when eating here.

Lunch

By Firebase W |

Food ok...service was verrrry slow...we will never do lunch again there...our bartender/waitress checked on us once...we had ice tea, no refills..maybe five other customers..no reason.

47 Anniversary Dinner

By barry b |

Well its been 47 years for us and would have been 66 for her mom and dad, so we brought her mom w/ us to celebrate both our special dates. Our waitress was as good as you could have, and gave us a star treatment. She even brought us a side of whip cream w/ a candle for each of us to blow out!!! Great meal and great service as well. Thanks so much for your attention to our special day!!

Good food, good service and good prices.

By Cheryl G |

We were happy with the service, food and variety. The portion size was generous as well. You can order salads to sandwiches to steaks.

AWESOME!

By ChP P |

AWESOME! My sister and I visited this restaurant for lunch on January 13. OMG! Everything was a WOW! From hot tea--hot--, salad fresh, the bread was fantastic, the Brussels sprouts were seasoned perfectly, the sweet potato was a winner, and the steak ('Flo') was cooked as requested to perfection. We were so pleased with the food that we asked for the cook to come out to give him a tip, too! Of course, the server gets an accolade. She gave perfect information to the cook, and he cooked the meal just as we requested. I highly recommend this restaurant!

Food Excellent..New Server and she was very bad

By Mare1599 |

Seated by hostess and it took 10 minutes for the waitress to come to our table. Hostess was kind enough to get us drinks. Server stopped by out table and I ordered an appetizer. Waitress stopped back to take our order...no appetizer. She came back quite a while later with our salads...no appetizer. Forgot crutons on one salad. She said she would get crutons...by the time she returned the salad was gone...and still no appetizer! Dinners were brought by manager...still no appetizer! Manager put in the order and explained the server was new. Manager, Heather was very nice and comped our appetizer. We had to ask for refills and they would take forever. Waitress had appetizer on the bill and removed it when I mentioned the Heather said she would comp. I know I was supposed to leave a tip for the entire meal, including the comp, but I only left 15% without the comp. My friend only left $2 because she felt new or not...the server needed to know that she did not perform her job well at all. The food was excellent!

Best Steak I've Had in a long time

By TravelingFriends2015 |

Took our grandson for his birthday (his favorite place). I have been avoiding beef for a long time just because it was usually too chewy. But grandson highly recommended Flo's Filet and boy was I glad I tried it. Not only melt-in-your-mouth tender, but the lemony buttery flavor was awesome. Along with a baked potato and salad. So good I went back a week later. We also got the Spicy Chicken Bites which were very flavorful and not too spicy for me. The Wedge Salad was ok but I've had better. And we wouldn't order the Chocolate Stampede again...not mouse lovers.

Get the Flo's filet!

By Gigi Reyes |

Jalapeño shooter appetizer was good but don't get the spinach dip, it was a little watery and bland. It tasted like it has been frozen then thawed. Yikes. Anyway, my husband and I come here for the Flo's filet over medium with mashed potatoes and order an extra side of half cooked green beans. I always try to be specific with my orders because last time my green beans were so overly cooked and soft it was yuck! Also they have been inconsistent on how they cook the filet. Sometimes my medium comes out done and I am very unhappy when that happens. If I have to pay for a $20 6 oz steak, it has to be perfect. First off, how they cut the steak is inconsistent. For a 6 oz, sometimes they cut it wide but thin or small and thick. I'd rather have the later but I just tell my waiter depending on the cut of the steak. I'll take a medium if it's thick or. Medium rare if it's thin. Once that has been addressed, my steak is cooked to perfection and we had a wonderful meal. I would go back again, just make your wants known beforehand!

Sal Lupito!

By lcdefilippo3 |

Sal is an amazing waiter, not to mention the food is delicious. Sal not only is a great waiter, but he is an overall wonderful person.

Always great!

Love this restaurant and the location. (1604 by Fiesta, Tx) Miguel is our favorite server, food is excellent and the manager, David, always stops at our table to see how things are going. We love to take our company there.

Best Server I've Ever Had and Surprising Factoid

By Erin M |

The hubs and I went out for a fun night out and decided to use a couple of Darden gift cards so we could really "do it up," and go all out from Merlot to Mousse. This turned out to be an excellent idea. Longhorn Steakhouse did not disappoint. We even arrived during happy hour, but forget it, our server was so charming and knowledgable she upsold the heck out of us. And you know what, we didn't care! She knew what she was talking about and my wine was smoooooth. Ashley F. is her name, and if you happen to be seated in her section, just go with it. We had these little Spicy Chicken Bites, while we waited for our salads. He went the good ole' Ceasar route and I ventured into the Beefsteak Tomato upsell. We were both happy, ready for another round, and most importantly not overfull. Neither of us will eat, if we are maxed out, but I recommend coming on a fairly empty stomach if you plan on hitting every part of the menu. Despite my man's aversion to bones, I choose the Grilled Lamb Chops. Winner! He stuck with the no fail Chicken Fried Steak. Bonus: The Macaroni and Cheese stands alone. Say adios to your diet and regrets. Worth it. Ashley F. is the kind of server that makes checks in quickly, returns with drinks and dishes promptly, but not too promptly, and is generally the most pleasant, yet least intrusive professional I've witnessed in all my dining years. I mentioned this to the manager as we departed, and noted that we preferred local restaurants but would be back on the merits of Ashley F. alone. (And, hey, the food was great.) The manager praised her service and informed me that the six Longhorn Steakhouse locations in San Antonio broke ties with Darden, so in essence they were a local chain. Bomb dropped! So, now I feel even better about eating at this establishment, because who doesn't want to support their local economy. And, they still accepted our gift cards? Respectable establishment. Bam!

Quality of product and service has dropped significantly; huge staff turnover

By RABabcock |

This used to be my "Go To" restaurant, but not any more. I snuck in for a late lunch and the first thing I notice was the wait staff has almost turned over 100%. My server was relatively new and still learning the menu, but I ordered an Outlaw Ribeye with mash; the steak was overcooked and the mash potatoes were quite bland. I used lotsa steak sauce to "soften" the meat, but didn't finish the steak. I ordered a glass of white wine, but that took over 10 minutes to get to me and it wasn't that busy. There seemed to be a lack of urgency with not just my order, but an elderly couple complained that they were still waiting for their dessert. Obviously, the quality of waitstaff and onsite training has suffered, but I did confirmed my belief that this is not the same quality place and positive atmosphere I used to enjoy, and is why I rarely return to visit.

Great customer service

By Josh M |

Had a great experience here with great food and even better customer service. My waitress Carla was amazing and always got us the things I needed, so friendly as well! Will be Back!

First time to visit

By L H |

This was our first time at this restaurant and went on an invitation to joins some friends here. It is located at the intersection of IH10 and Loop 1604 in between Olive Garden and Red Lobster. So check the easiest way to access from any one direction or you might miss your exit. Parking was no issue in large shared parking lots. No hostess was at the hostess stand at the front entrance when we arrived and no one greeted us. There is a bar in the front section. We walked around and found our party seating in the back area by the servers door from I think the kitchen. This was not an ideal location because the table was too close to the doorway and my chair was being passed by continuously. I sat as close to the table as possible, being a smaller person, but still the waiters walking by brushed against my chair and hair. It was annoying the entire time. This place has both booth and table seating in a few different sections. They have laminated menus with a variety of selections. Our server was a nice young man who was courteous and prompt. The majority of our group ordered a 6 oz. steak of some sort with baked potato BUT when they were served half got a baked potato and the others did not

Great waiter!

By Maggie W |

We met up with friends for dinner. The atmosphere is friendly. We arrived at 5:30 so we were seated quickly. Our waiter, Collin, was great. He got our drinks and appetizer out quickly. Patiently waited on our food order because the group was talking. He saw to out needs quickly. Because of Collin I give the restaurant a 5. The food was ok, good. Not as flavorful as it was on our last visit. Scarce toppings in our baked potato, Brussels sprouts a bit overcooked. Salads were great, recommend the raspberry vinaigrette dressing. Our steaks were a little disappointing. Mine was the right doneness but lacked flavor. I heard the same from others. I hope they bring the flavors back up to par.

Loved the cold Salad and sweet potato! Honey loved the cold Samuel adams draft October fest beer. Place was cozy and cool. Waitress...Greta was sweet. Western decorations are awesome!

Bad customer service & food

By Rose c |

Horrible customer service from waitress and not surprisingly the manager too. My steak was cooked wrong and 1. Had to wait a good while for my waitress to even reappear. 2. Waited a long time patiently for meal to be redone and it was overcooked again. At this point I was like ok it's not the waitress fault for the cooks but to ask me if there was really no pink in my steak was way out of line. Had to hold it up to her to see. Offered to cook again but by the time I got my 2nd plate the rest of my party had finished eating. Said no just bring the check. Well here goes MORE waiting and finally got up to walk out. To be told to be patient the manager is aware but he is busy taking trash out. So taking the trash out is more important than tending to a customer?? Enraged I said he can talk to me now or I am out this door. Spent an hour waiting for a correct plate that I never received. Manager came out & had no better customer service than the disappearing waitress. My advice go to a different location where your high prices meal will be cooked correctly &at least served with a smile.

Our favorite restaurant

By Iris K |

Foods are great! Our favorite are baby back ribs, sweet potatoes and salads . I like their bread too! The ambience is cozy and romantic . Wherever we are in the US we always have our dinner or lunch at Longhorn steakhouse . We highly recommend this restaurant for everyone. My husband and I commend one of their staff , Miguel whose service is excellent !

Underwhelmed

By travelingtrio2010 |

The restaurant decor was very nice. We were seated quickly and greeted by our server. This restaurant wraps its silverware in dinner napkins. When I unwrapped my set the knife was coated in oil/grease. I do not understand how someone could wrap such a dirty utensil with a fork and not notice. I showed the server the issue and she apologized. She indicated she'd bring a fresh set, but I had to remind her to do so two times. The entree salads are huge so consider sharing, The prime rib was very good, however, the sirloin although flavorful was quite overcooked and tough. We had requested the sirloin be cooked "medium". It was served "well". There are better steakhouse options to choose from.

Great Restaurant

By Joe W |

My wife and I stopped at this particular Long Horn Steakhouse for dinner on Wednesday, 18 February 2015. We were there just after 5:00 p.m. and the place wasn't busy, so I didn't expect too much. We decided on the "Long Horn Dinner For Two" -- she got the parmesan crusted chicken and I opted for the sirloin with mashed potatoes. Iced tea. The dinner also included dessert but we didn't order them. After salads, both dishes arrived and were very, very good. My wife's chicken was tender, well prepared and tasted great. My steak was cooked just as I ordered it and arrived nice and hot. It was not tough (actually I was expecting it would be tough because it was not a premium cut) and it was very juicy and flavorful. By the time we called for the bill, the restaurant was probably 3/4 full, yet our waitstaff did not fail us. Additionally, for the quality of the food received, we expected the bill to be more than it was. Another pleasant surprise. Accordingly, we left a 40% tip (VERY rare for us to do). This chain restaurant left a very good impression with us, and a very, very good taste, also. I know this restaurant is not the same standard as Kirby's or Pappas Brothers, etc., and I'm not critiquing it on that level. But for this caliber/class of chain restaurant, they served excellent food for a very reasonable price. Outstanding service.

Delicious food! Great service!

By 228margiw |

I joined three friends for dinner (my first time eating at this franchise). We were all delighted by the great-tasting food. I was pleased by the relaxed, quiet atmosphere & the great customer service. I am very grateful to Manager, Juan, & our waitress, Chianna, who ensured my meal adhered to my dietary restrictions. Thank you both so much!

Tasty Food at Reasonable Prices!

By dysg |

In from Europe, and house hunting on San Antonio's far west side, our real estate guy recommended that we try the LongHorn Steakhouse. It was very good advice because we had two simply delicious cuts of beef--plus the side dishes were equally tasty. And we couldn't have been more pleased with the service. The young man who waited on us was friendly and made us feel most welcome. The best part was that the cost of our meals, plus wine, was very reasonable and didn't make much of a dent in our travel budget. Now that we've bought in the area, we'll be back again, and again, and....

Just poor service.

By Eric K |

On October 26th, 2024, my wife and I dined at Longhorn steakhouse, and upon first arriving, we were met by the hostest and were seated in a booth that we had asked for. Our waiter approached and asked for our drinks. My wife ordered a coke, and I ordered a beer but was not asked what size I would want and was brought the biggest size they had. Bread and butter were brought to the table but nothing to cut the bread with or anything to spread the butter. No utensils were given even after the appetizer was brought. The waiter did not stop when they dropped the appetizer off, and we had to wait until he came back to our table to take our order, which was over 10 minutes, and to ask for utensils. After placing our orders, we were not asked how we wanted our steaks cooked (medium for my ribeye and well for my wife's serloin) until after he was placing the order and realized he forgot to ask. He told him what we wanted and he finished placing the order. When the food was brought out. The temps we switched, my ribeye was cooked well done, and my wife's was medium rare. My wife cut into the steak and was mostly pink, and the juice was all over the plate. After sitting about 8 minutes we had to ask the another waiter to get our waiter which they promptly did and when our waiter arrived he asked my wife to cut into the steak again to prove that it was not well. She did, and he said that is well (absolutely was not well). He conceeded and took the stark and brought out a new steak that was cooked to the correct temp. He dropped it off before we were able to ask for Steak sauce and again after waiting for him to return to ask how everything was or to see if there was anything he could get, (never asked is my wife wanted a refill on he coke or if I would like another beer) my wife was fed up and saw that another table had steak sauce that was recently vacated and got up and retrieved the bottle herself.nexy time the waiter are he brought the check and asked if we would like to-go boxes (never asking if we would like dessert). We promptly paid, boxed up our food, and left. We were very disappointed with the service.

It is nice & comfortable inside. You don't even mind waiting. The food is well worth the wait. They know how to cook a steak.

Dinner with the wife

By Javier G |

Came to eat the food is good but the manager kindly asked me to conceal my handgun. This after the new open carry law, but he did it Nicely . They should really put up the required signage if that is what they intend.

Great Place to Wind Down

By RABabcock |

I've gone twice in the last 3 weeks. The bartender Greta is super at making margaritas and the waiter Sal is congenial, knowledgeable, and professional. Currently, the crab bites appetizer is great (worth the price) and the small carrot cake is perfect way to end a meal (not too large). I believe Happy Hour is from 4:00 to 6:00 PM, but check with Greta or Sal, first.

Good steakhouse, great service

By Kathy0726 |

Our server helped us with selections and got our orders correct even though we changed our minds a couple of times. He was friendly and efficient. The pulled pork was delicious as was the steak. The drinks were right on and what we expected. The pricing is about right for this type of restaurant.

Second Review of This Same Restaurant

By Joe W |

My wife and I had a very favorable experience at this restaurant back in early February. We went back in late May and things had changed. The "dinner for two" menu was no more. So we each ordered the NY Strip. What we got was disappointing at best. Very thin (about a half inch thick, if that) and very tough. While the flavor was marginally decent, everything else was very unimpressive. Our waitress was pleasant and efficient. I do not see us returning to this restaurant.

special price---$12.99 steak dinner with salad and side plus appetizer or desssert

By LMomG |

Met friends from out of town and the Steak special was excellent. The 6ounce sirloin was prepared just right for each of us. Broccoli side was really good---not overcooked. The Longhorn bread was excellent as usual. I would have preferred the key lime pie--but the choices that came with lunch were good---enjoyed the peanut butter chocolate cheesecake.

Horrible service

My boyfriend and i came here to enjoy our date night which we don't get many of and we were very disappointed with the service. We have been here several times and every time we have tried to give the restaurant and staff the benefit of the doubt that it cant be as bad as the last time but it seems to get worse and worse. There were only two other couples in the whole restaurant and we still had to deal with terrible service. The food was overcooked and the people seated behind us mentioned that "they used to be regulars but hadn't been in a while" so me and my boyfriend watched three managers and our waitress come out and cater to their every need while we sat there and weren't even asked how our meal was. Our waitress literally came to our table to drop food and bring the check and then rushed back to the couple seated behind us. This was the last time we will attempt to eat at this restaurant!

Great restaurant

We went here bc my son wanted the biggest steak after graduation from boot camp at Lackland. Great staff, friendly. The food was superb and everyone enjoyed.

All the adults ordered steaks. No one was disappointed. A day later and I still haven't finished my take home.

Worst steak I've eaten in years!!

By numanoid17 |

We went to this restaurant because the Red Lobster next door had a 35 minute wait. What a mistake to eat here! I ordered the ribeye steak, baked potato with a side salad. The steak was AWFUL!! Mainly chewy and full of fat. Not marble, but FAT!! I spoke to the manager David to show him all the fat left over on my plate. He agreed and said, it looked like I received a bad cut. Yeah, you think so???? Extremely and I mean extremely disappointed. The only after taste I have is my Dr.Pepper. Even the salad was mediocre at best. I guess that should have been a sign of things to come. This particular steak cost $19.00 !!. Do yourself a favor. Go to H.E.B and buy your own steak and cook it on the grill. You'll thank me for it!

Lunch with grandson and family...

By GRANDMAL1 |

The service was great. We had three young children, 5, 2, and 5 months, and our server was great with them. Our food was delicious, and served attractively. We thoroughly enjoyed our time together in an atmosphere that was great for visiting. Our first time at a LongHorn, but not our last!

Good Steak, Smiling and Friendly Staff, Couple of Misses on the Service

By 2fromTX |

First, the overall impression of the interior is nice -- has the feeling of an upscale place. We were greeted and seated promptly by a smiling hostess, and the waitperson was equally upbeat. On a mid-week dinner, it wasn't more than half full but they sat us near almost all of the other occupied tables -- maybe helpful for them, but odd. My 12 oz ribeye steak was very good, cooked Medium Rare just as requested, although my friend's Bone-in Ribeye was more like Medium. The house saled was also very good. For a family meal, I thought the prices were a little above similar concepts. The slight misses on service - not all of us got bread plates, and when a guy brought more, we asked for more bread - he said the server would get it, it never came. Also, for one of our sides we asked for a slight modification -- it didn't come that way, and after letting the server know, we were told another side correctly prepared was coming, and it never did. No one wants to make a big deal out of little things when with family at a meal, but surely these oversights can be fixed by diligent management.

consistently exceptional quality at a mid range price point

By DavidJ99989 |

All the meals are consistently good across all their locations. Chicken tenders are great, as are the Flo Fillet's, full rack of ribs, mixed salads. Does this read like an ad? Family has had consistently good experiences at Longhorn, and never a bad meal outing, so if that is the beginning of an ad, then so be it.

Good value

By John C |

I had a chance to visit this steakhouse hoping for a good meal without spending the night. Expectations met! Service was professional and attentive, food to my liking, and I was impressed with how quickly they responded to all of our requests. I will be back.

If it wasn't so far I would make it a regular eat

By P1520TPandrewk |

Well, if you are taking out five family members be open!!! You are going to spend over 150.00! However, the service and the cuts of meat were very good, served anyway you would like! This is a nice location go celebrate with family!

Monday after New Year's

By Jimksatx_11 |

We arrived at the restaurant about 5:45 there was 1214 people in the lobby we were told that we would have to wait for 15 to 20 minutes even though half the tables in the restaurant were empty little short on wait staff needed to clean up tables first this was a holiday weekend. After talking to the manager the rest of the experience was fine might need to fine-tune the management process

Great visit

By cc9702016 |

The waitress was great, Jennifer provided great service. The food and drinks that were ordered came out as expected.

Amazing service

By Kholysz |

My family came here for my BMT graduation from the Air Force. The service was excellent, we received a 10% discount and a complementary dessert our server was sal and the manager made sure that our visit was good! Would recommend!

not very good and long wait

By jessica h |

As expected on a Saturday night there was a 45 minute wait. The waitress was not overly friendly or helpful. The food was ok- nothing to brag about. The Nolan Ryan chicken fried steak was not that great. The fried okra was really good. It was full size pieces of okra fried. The salad was very good. The sirloin steak was average. It was not that hot for just being cooked. I would not go here again.

Great Steaks!

By Bill T |

Longhorn Steakhouse offers very good dining at fairly reasonable prices, along with top-notch service. Their beef menu items are usually prepared very well, sides are fresh, and drinks from the bar are quite good. Overall, a very enjoyable place to dine.

Pretty good steakhouse - for a chain...

By LoneStarDad |

You pretty much know what to expect when you eat at Longhorn Steakhouse. Just like the other well-known restaurants in the Darden organization - Olive Garden and Red Lobster - the food is good and relatively inexpensive. Not something to rave about, but predictably good due to the high quality control standards in place in all the Darden restaurants. This particular Longhorn is strategically located near Fiesta Texas and two of the newest and best shopping malls in San Antonio - The Rim and La Cantera. It's a bit difficult get to, however, since it's on the one-way access road on the Northwest quadrant of the complex intersection of IH 10 and Loop 1604. All three Darden restaurants are lined up side-by-side at that location, so you have your pick. In this case we chose Longhorn because there seemed to be a line at Red Lobster and at Olive Garden. Just as we love the honey biscuits at Red Lobster and the bread sticks at Olive Garden, Longhorn has a wonderful, warm, dark bread that arrives at your table soon after you arrive. My only complaint is that the butter is rock hard and that the bread is not sliced all the way through. I don't mind tearing bread apart, but I ended up with a slightly mangled mess since there was no bread knife provided to properly finish the job. As we have come to expect with this chain, our garden salads were fresh, crisp and heavy on the iceberg lettuce. I ordered the sirloin and my wife ordered the salmon hoping it would be similar to the salmon she usually orders at Red Lobster. We both got "loaded" baked potatoes and she was able to order a vegetable side (broccoli) while apparently the sirloin only comes with one side. My sirloin was good and cooked as ordered - not melt in your mouth yummy, but entirely satisfying and flavorful. And the salmon was "better" than the salmon served next door according to my wife. I had a forkful myself and would have to agree with her assessment. We both expected to be happy with our meals and we were. We ended up with a bubbly college coed as our server. She was entirely genuine and seemed happy to be there. We felt well taken care of even if her performance was less than polished. The shift manager stopped by our table twice, but both times we sensed that she was following a set protocol rather than genuinely interested in how we were doing. Chain restaurants survive and prosper because of the systems in place to insure quality and uniformity. It is however, both a blessing and a curse. In this case, the "customer awareness" protocol imposed on shift managers seemed to fall into the curse category - at least from our perspective as diners. The ambiance is sort of Texan and sort of someone's idea of Texan. Nice touches here and there, but certainly not genuinely authentic. Bottom line: We left satisfied and happy and grateful that we did not have to spend a fortune for a good steak and tasty salmon. We will be back.

Dinner with wife

This is our first time here for dinner. We got the 6 oz sirloin. The food was delicious. We got seated within 15 minutes. It was a busy Friday night. Our dinner came quick. Look forward to coming again.

46 Anniversary Dinner

By barry b |

We decided to go to an old reliable for our 46 anniversary dinner on July 19th and we were so glad we did. Everything was so good and tasty. We upgraded the salads and some other items as well but it was so worth it. We had to have the choclate desert so we had doggy bags to bring home. The meal was great and our service was excellent as usual. Thanks for a wonderful evening.

Excellent Service/Excellent Food

By sevenmaranatha |

We wanted the perfect place to take our family to celebrate our daughter-in-law's birthday and thankfully we chose this LongHorn Steakhouse and had the privilege of excellent service from Krista! We wanted each detail to be perfect and Krista took the time and energy to explain items, celebrate appropriately, and provide top of the line service in all the other details! The food was perfectly prepared and the dessert remarkable. Thanks for hiring amazing people to match the quality of food!

Mostly Positive

By Ellen L |

Food was good although the onion appetizer wasn't my favorite. Our server was new and had a couple of missteps. Afterwards I spoke to Heather, the manager. She was excellent, truly receptive to the feedback. Every restaurant should have a manager with her excellent attitude.

Nice Lunch Specials

By Marc C |

Located next to their other restaurants near La Cantera – Lunch menu parings were nice. Went for lunch at the Bar and after GM noticed patrons sitting there; got the Bar staff out. Had their buttermilk chicken sandwich with salad and was impressed on the amount for $7.99. Not a huge sandwich but just right with the salad or other side you would want. The only ‘call out’ I have is they base their ‘suggested tip’ on the TOTAL amount rather than the SUBTOTAL amount. I take notice on how establishments ‘suggest their tip amount’ based on TOTAL or SUBTOTAL . I consider is very fair for basing the ‘tip’ off the subtotal as many people will tip more. I consider off the ‘total’ a little inflated as service stopped at ‘subtotal’ – Taxes are on the establishment. Every place does it differently and some don’t suggest; just review so you know where it is going to. Otherwise I’ll return for lunch and will bring friends – The food was great.

Worth visiting.

By xraleman |

Nice place and very good food. The baby back ribs we're okay, but I've had better in other places. The same for the onion soup, good but not even close to my mother's. The sirloin and porterhouse stakes were excellent. Pricey? Yes, as expected in a good steakhouse.

Solid Dinner Venue

Longhorn is a nice affordable, solid dinner venue. The food is good, but not spectacular. The prices are reasonable.

The service was spectacular. The food was awesome. We had the steak , lobster, ands veggies and everything was very fresh and tasty and the price was VERY affordable. This will definitely be our new steak house.

Surprisingly disappointed

By lovetodine768 |

Between the three of us we ordered: Sirloin steak, wild west shrimp appetizer , salmon, caesar salad, strawberry pecan salad. The steak was cooked fine but very fatty. After cutting the fat off, about two-thirds of the steak was remaining. The Wild West Shrimp appetizer had the peppers in the dish but they were onviously just thrown in after the shrimp was cooked. The shrimp were fine but not spicy at all. My daughter thought the shrimp was very plain. The Caesar salad was dull and flavorless however, the strawberry pecan salad was fresh and the dressing was incredible. Our waiter did the bare minimum leaving dirty plates on the table, no soda refills and obviously didn't want to be there. The food here was just not consistent with what we've had at this chain elsewhere. Lots of steak places in TX, go to a different one.

Fab food

By Barbara W |

BUT, service was slow, and our guest's baked potato wasn't baked! The place was crowded and very, very noisy!! I suggest you go for lunch during the week and not on a Friday night when they seem to be overwhelmed. The food was really, really good!

Best Steak In a Long Time

By Mary P |

Went to Longhorn for hub’s birthday. This is the 1604/I10 location, our usual place. The last steak I had here was mediocre and I was hesitant to go. But since hub wanted to eat here for his special day, I didn’t resist. It was late afternoon so the place was somewhat empty and quiet, especially in the bar area. This is how we like it. Unfortunately, we also notice the food suffers somewhat due to the lull before the busy dinner service. To my amazement, I was totally surprised this trip. Hubs ordered the Outlaw Ribeye, medium rare. I ordered the marinated Flatiron steak, cooked Pittsburgh rare. For those not familiar with this, it’s a charred almost burned outside while rare inside with a drop of blood. The ribeye looked beautifully done with the most visually perfect cross hatch lines on it. It was “big” and perfectly cooked rare with that drop of blood. Hub said it was seasoned quite well. He ate as much as he could but ended up taking half his steak home, which makes for a nice second meal. As for my flatiron, Bernie (Ernie?) the steak chef is an artist. While the waitress Priscilla appeared not to be familiar with “Pittsburgh”, she wrote down what I said what a Pittsburgh steak was and it was obvious she conveyed the message well!! Good for both of them. The steak was sooooo tender, and the charring was excellent (I tend to like burned flavors but NOT DRY textures). Well Done!! While smaller than the Outlaw, I managed to eat my entire steak, which I normally do not! We both ordered loaded baked potatoes but I noticed there were no bacon bits in the prepared package of potato add-ons Oh well. I’ll ask next time. Priscilla was pleasant and warm even though it was slow. We almost always get a “cold fish” waitress during this serving time. While hubs had beer, I ordered a Rusty Nail, my favorite drink. Priscilla made it and she did a great job! From now on, I will order the Flatiron steak and hubs said the Outlaw Ribeye was worth every penny! Now I won’t be so hesitant to return to Longhorn.

Some great steaks but ...

By MarMac1965 |

We were celebrating my sons birthday, all was good, service was very friendly, the place is nice and comfortable, here is the but... we has some apetizers and salads, all excellent, then we ordered 4 steaks, two ribeye and 2 primerib, the ribeye was superb, but on the primerib, one was less than ok and the second one which was mine was horrible, we ordered it medium and mine was almost well done, when I flipped it over it was completely dark like burned, I asked for the manager and he explained that mine was the last primerib of te day and thats why is was like that, he offered to change it but I felt robbed because they knew it was not the steak they should have served and they should NOT have served it to me, for everyone except me it was an excellent dinner.

Best steak in Texas

This was some of the best steak that I have eaten. It was sooo juicy and the mashed potatoes were also yummy. Will visit there again when we are in San Antonio

They haven’t been or I would not comeback so many times.was Was my favorite and not sure I will back. I hope my dog can at least chew it. So disappointed! Waiter said serlinwasexpected to be tough and grizzled. Always the best but not today

Regular Steakhouse

By Xtraveler23 |

Service was good and prompt for a normal business day lunch. The restaurant look good and clean. Normal atmosphere for a steakhouse. Menu offers several options including Salmon for people on diet. Liked the service and attention. Steak cooked at the point as ordered. Flavors were good. The bad: expected a tender steak as ordered a premium cut, but it was not tender at all and had to work hard to eat it.

Not impressed

By ecc0130 |

I hear people talk about this place, so Igave it a try . Our waitress seemed like she did not want to work ... No smile ! My perfect margarita was far from perfect! The Cesar salad was great, my steak was very average nothing special ! However I will try it one more time to see if there's a difference

I'll bet its Cisco

By Chuck B |

We came here on Saturday at 1:30 ish. The place was not too busy. The place is roomie. Good space between tables etc. The menu is well planed and has some interesting choices. This was prety much my thought for my entire meal. French onion soup came a nice size melted cheese mmmm looked GREAT. It wasn't kinda weak broth not at all flavorful. My meat was well cooked looked good. Mushrooms and sauce too. Also looked great. The sauce not on point. Not anything was WOW. They bring warm bread on a cutting board. Also could have been great but served with margarine. Yuck. Everything had the promise of real good food but never quite makes the mark. Sauce, mushrooms, French onion my guess is an assembly of Cisco or even lesser quality supplied packaged portioned. Some one cooks the meat everything else was caned or packaged. IMHO. So much could be done with this great location. Great building and restaurant but no real chief I guess or love of cooking.

Excellent service

By Iris K |

My husband and I frequently chose Longhorn steakhouse particularly at this location because of the best service provided by Miguel . Miguel is the best server among the rest of the staff . The food is excellent including the hot bread that is initially served before the main course . Not only that , he gave us more bread to take out . I highly recommend Miguel to management for a job promotion .

Awesome!

By Sandi M |

This place has awesome food and awesome service! We come back here every time we're in San Antonio and are never disappointed! The stuffed mushroom appetizers are AMAZING, and the steak is to die for! It's like butter melting in your mouth! I cannot say enough about this place, am deathly I'm a picky eater!

Best place ever!

By GSDLOVER89 |

The food, the drinks, and the service was perfection! My filet was flawless. I cannot wait till they open one in Houston!

Great food but really spotty service

By Becky N |

I happened to have the good fortune to win a contest which awarded me a free steak dinner once a month for a year, so I've eaten here several times over the past few months. The food has been consistently good, but the service has faltered almost every time. I wrote a review several months ago noting that our server forgot to serve our salads. It turns out that this was not an aberration. For our most recent visit, we arrived quite early, and the restaurant was only about 1/3 full. Nevertheless, it took about 5-10 minutes before we were seated. This has happened before: on a previous visit, we could see many empty tables, but we had a half hour wait at the bar before being seated. Once seated, it appeared to us that one server was trying to manage everything. He was very friendly and apologetic, and seemed to be working hard, but lacking enough staff has been a consistent problem on pretty much every visit we have made. On this visit, we waited 20 minutes for water. I finally got up to go ask the host to have our waiter stop by our table -- I honestly thought that maybe they had somehow missed noticing that we had been seated -- then finally our server showed up and took our drink order. We had been seated for over half an hour before water and the complimentary bread (which is delicious) finally appeared. When we ordered, I asked for water with lemon. Water came, no lemon. Our party finished off the bread pretty quickly. Still waiting for salad, we asked for more bread. Our waiter said that fresh bread was just about to come out of the oven and he would have it out to us shortly. He then promptly forgot. It never came. We eventually got our salads, which were good as always, with very fresh ingredients. However our daughter's soup arrived much later. Entrees eventually followed. I've had several different cuts of steak here, they have always been good. Very tender and delicious. My son likes the burgers. Chicken fried chicken portion was huge. We really like the under 500 healthy choices. After finishing our meal, we asked for a take-out container so we could box up leftovers. Fifteen minutes later, we hailed our waiter as he passed by, and asked again for a take-out box. Eventually, he was able to produce a container. It took about half an hour after we were finished eating. Not a single dirty dish was cleared from our table during the time that we were waiting. To sum up our experience, after repeated visits: the food is great. Steaks are tender and juicy. Vegetables are fresh. Bread is delicious. Atmosphere is fine, comfortable. Servers, every single one, have been friendly and seeming to do their best, but the restaurant seems chronically understaffed and this has sullied pretty much every meal we have had there.

Consistently good!

By Mark E |

This is a chain Steakhouse. Service always top drawer. Choice Steaks cooked as ordered. Good value, and happy experience. What more could you ask for? Prime rib, Baby back ribs, fine sides.

Average at Best

By hoopsman86 |

My issue is not with this location as much as with this chain. The steaks are just not very good. I’ve had two visits in different areas of the state with the same result. Bland!!

Better than average

By Tony R |

This is a better-than-average steak chain restaurant. Good steaks and nice selection of other options and sides.

The BEST steak I have had in months.

By Craig Mc |

I ate at the Longhorn Steakhouse tonight. I had the 22 oz Longhorn Porterhouse and I can tell you it was a melt in your mouth steak. The cook that cooked this steak was Antonio. I asked if he could come out of the back for a couple of minutes so that I could thank him and give himself tip to show him my appreciation. Very nice gentleman. Thanks again Antonio and Longhorn Steakhouse for a great night out.

Excellent steaks and shrimp

By Tabenf |

We had a sirloin with shrimp and they were outstanding. Waitress was excellent She helped with suggestions Above Combination is only about $18 and includes veggies and salad Great food. Great deal. Great service

Just Average

By Jonfo1969 |

Like many chain steakhouses that are a lower tier of steakhouses, Longhorn suffers from CHAIN RESTAURANT disease. Everything about it is average. Usually long wait times for overpriced, average food. The service is ok, the food is ok. Nothing special here for me BUT not bad. Don't get me wrong just not WOW'ED for the wait time and the prices.

Great Food!!

By ker1994 |

We had a great experience at this restaurant. The drinks are great and not very expensive. The steaks are cooked to perfection and have a wonderful flavor. We had the stuffed mushroom appetizer, which was fantastic!! Service was great. Overall, just a great meal!!

Tasty!

By CyCh6768 |

This was my first visit but won't be my last. I ordered the Parmessan Crusted Chicken. It was amazing!! With every bite I didn't want it to end and I thought about going back and ordering it again. My husband ordered the T-bone steak. He said it was tender, juicy and cooked just right. I'm not a steak person and thought it was over priced but he enjoyed it. Our server was great. We had what we needed without her being a bother. This will be our "date night" dinner spot for a while.

Short and Savory

By OmniEpicurean |

If there is anything that makes my stomach feel like my throat has been cut (sorry for the graphic), it's the smell of meats smoking over a hot fire. It's the juices that drip onto the hot fire and instantly vaporize into a wonderful plume of savory smoke that makes you want to take a bite out of the air; think anticuchos at NIOSA, the billowing smoke from Polllos Asados Los Nortenos or the smell of steaks on the grill as you traverse the parking lot at the Barn Door or Perry's. That smell surrounded us as soon as we opened the car door at the Longhorn. It's like an aerosol pheromone for foodies that beckons to hie thee hither. A bit too much romanticism for just a chain restaurant? O.K. Fine! We were here for the burger special. A cheddar cheese, done medium, 1/2 lb. angus burger with fries and a Coke. The burger meat was pink, the cheddar was melted, the fries were crispy and the Coke was cold. Never let it be said that ALL my reviews are interminably lengthy, description effusive and verbose!

A steak is just a Hamburger!

By Juan G |

I just got home from eating at the Longhorn Steakhouse in the Southside of San Antonio. I must say that even though my wife and I clearly ordered our meats cooked a specific way, we still got our meats cooked wrong and on the wrong plates!! She had my steak (a dry ribeye) and I got hers (ranch sirloin). My steak tasted and smelled just like the hamburger patties I barbeque at home, but a lot more expensive ($18.99). Her steak was cooked to dryness with no pink in sight!! The service wasn't bad, except for the fact that it took forever for us to get our salads, which had more lettuce hearts (gone bad) than usual. Then our orders took forever, and this with it being a slow night. The manager was very tactful and apologetic, nice guy. Too bad that the cooks aren't trained better in the art of cooking steaks!!! Will try again!

Best food ever!

By Sandi M |

There's not a lot you can do to mess up a steak, yet I have had some pretty bad ones, and one on this vacation. But not from this place! The food was soooo amazing, and the service was great, too! Our waitress, JP was very attentive, and did such a great job at seeing to our needs! Great place, with decent prices! Would definitely go back!

The Best Steak I've Eaten

By S.Marsh |

I visited this restaurant whilst away on business based on a recommendation from a San Antonio colleague. We was greeted by the very friendly Lacey, who was very quick and taking our order, providing us with bread and bringing our drinks. I ordered the Rib Eye (Medium) and was absolutely overwhelmed with the flavour. The steak was cooked to perfection and didn't require any condiments. I had this with fries, which were fairly standard but with the steak juice/sauce, they went down easily. I will definitely eat here for future business trips.

A dining experience beyond compare..

By lorenzo r |

For starters, the dining environment was very appealing only to be enhanced by the 5-star customer service provided by specific waitstaff during our entire visit. The food preparation by the kitchen for our specific preferences- my wife and i- was problem-free. My steak was done exactly to my specific quality of cooking, taste, flavor and overall size. The strawberry pecan salad was to "die for!" The individual server attention provided by Krista was impeccable. And when you add all that to the customer service by other staff-Jeremiah in particular made it an unforgettable eating experience. I will give it AN EXCELLENT RATING! Please give them my highest recommendation.

Just another average burger joint

By Chuck2865 |

If you are looking for yet another pre-pressed hamburger patty with loud cafeteria seating this is your stop. The fries could have been served at Marble Slab because they were stone cold. The restaurant was less than half full but we had to hunt for a clean table, which brings me to the part that the busboy was placing the large reusable ketchup and other condiments in the same container as the dirty dishes. Nope never again!

Wonderful experience

By Rmm1221 |

The whole experience was outstanding. The steaks were phenomenal. My NY strip was succulent. Our server (Ashtyn) was very attentive (eg bringing pop refill when I was low, without me asking). I know where to come for an enjoyable steak house experience.

Fabulous Family Lunch

By FlyingEagle86 |

The service exceeded my expectations. There was a small wait but it was worth it. The sirloin steaks were extremely tasty. The complimentary bread was even better. The salads had fresh ingredients and the taste was awesome.

Great Lunch

By Charles S |

Family stopped here for lunch. The accommodated my food allergies and made sure everything was safe so that was awesome. I got the burger, cooked the way I like it and tasted great. My wife got the soup and salad and she enjoyed that. My daughter got the soup and a potato, she enjoyed the soup. The service was very good.

Looking for a GREAT Steak?

By renamareak |

Longhorn Steakhouse provides a consistently delicious steak. Their asparagus is amazing and of course they have all the standard fare. This restaurant is one of my favorites for steak. The house salad has cucumbers. Their chicken Caesar is delicious. This restaurant has a rustic but elegant atmosphere and a full bar. You will not be disappointed.

Good food and service

Close to the hotel, Fairfield Inn, We had good food and service. Decor was ok. Nothing else to say to get to 50 characters.

Great Service!

By HarmonyGeorge |

Went here with wife, son, and his three teen-aged kids. Started with Wild West shrimp, great and plenty for all. Pretzels sticks were good too, but cheese sauce was a little runny. Most of us opted for Parm Crusted Chicken, and it was fork tender and delicous.Sides of carrots, and asparagus were really special. Our server Miguel was courteous, friendly, and gave our hungry bunch quick service!!

Great steak, exceptional service

By sasom222 |

The waiter was very on top of the service making suggestions and realizing things that went with a no bread diet. For example he did not include croutons with my salad. The water glass never reached half empty and he checked on how my meal was several times. The 6 oz sirloin was delicious.

Excellent food!!

My sweetheart and I go there every week and the food is excellent.. our waiter Sal is awesome... he's always on top of his game.. I definitely recommend going to this location..

Just another trendy, Texas steak house.

By Nelson N |

Stopped in for a latish, mid week, lunch with the wife. Walked in to almost empty restaurant and waited a few minutes to be seated. We got a booth towards the door. We looked over the menu and decided on a couple of lunch specials. The food was great until my wife bit into a birthday candle in the salad. We brought it to attention of the wait person and manager. We were offered a lot of apologies and a $3.50 discount off of our lunch. OK, no be deal. While we were eating, four other tables were seated right around us. Listen LongHorn , the restaurant is empty, spread your gruests out and let us enjoy ourselves and not be privy to other's conversations and related drama. The area is filled with trendy steak houses and they will receive our business before LongHorn.

Good food but tricky to get to

By Bruce_101 |

We visited one evening. The sat nav got it wrong and we passed the place by on the wrong road at rush hour! Got there eventually. The fillet steak was delicious with a sweet potato. Not sure why the butter had to have sugar on it though. Side salads were good. The place has a comfortable atmosphere and our waitress was very pleasant and attentive.

Manager come through on our Anniversary!

By Jujee1959 |

My Husband and I recently went on our anniversary vacation to Fredericksburg, Texas and San Antonio, Tx. We decided to have a nice dinner at Longhorn Steakhouse and all started off with a fantastic bang. We sat at the bar and the bar tender was very hospitable and served great drinks and was prompt to our needs. We only had to wait about 25 minutes on a friday night which in a city the size of San Antonio is pretty good. We were seated and were assigned a very nice waitress who promptly took our orders. To make along story short my husbands steak which he ordered at medium came out almost rare and he asked the waitress who took it back to have it done right. We waited about ten minutes and the waitress brought the steak back and immediately told us this steak has been charred and so she proceeded to let me know she would be right back. Two minutes later the manager came over and in a very professional manner said he understood my husbands steak had not been cooked to his satisfaction and agreed when he took a look at it. With no hesitation he took the steak and said he'd be right back with the right steak. Ten minutes later he brought us a beautifully cooked medium rib eye steak that was as delicious as it was beautiful. Since this was our anniversary not only did this manager take it upon himself to give my husband his steak at no charge but he gave us a nice discount on the rest of our meal. I want to say that the experience may not have been 100% perfect but the actions the manager took were what I call perfect. His customer satisfaction style is what most of expect and it was nice to see that this manager knew how to correct a negative situation. We will go back to eat here because mistakes are made all the time, how they are corrected is what leaves a good or bad impression. In this case we were left with a very favorable impression and I for one am very thankful.

Awesome Ribeye

By MarieAmanda |

Ate here last night. I got the 11 oz ribeye, medium rare. Cooked perfectly. My friend got the larger ribeye. It too, was perfectly cooked. The service was great. The food was great. I look forward to going back soon.

Birthday Dinner

By Rosemary P |

We took our 22 year old grandson for Birthday Dinner. His choice and our first time. He ordered Ribeye, I had Lamb chops, and my husband the Ribs. Yes all completely different. But all as delicious. Waitress was very friendly. We say at the Bar area. We enjoyed everything our evening there.

Three disatrous meals

By 1twangster |

My sister-in-law invited us to their 'favorite' steak house to celebrate my wife's birthday. The experience was a disaster. I ordered salmon and it was exceptional. My rice pilaf was littered with minced red bell pepper which I painstakingly removed a piece at a time (but the rice still tasted like red bell pepper which I don't care for). My caesar salad was perfect. It gets uglier from here though. The other 3 in our party were't so fortunate. My wife ordered the chicken fried steak. She makes the best cfs on the planet and we've also eaten them at some of the finest places in Texas (over the past 40 years): Keno Cafe in Weslaco, Bud's Wagon Wheel in Lyford and the Star Cafe in Ft. Worth, to name 3. She said Chili's even serves a good one. But the one they cooked for her was horrible (gross may be the proper description). It arrived covered with grease; puddles of oil sitting on the mushy breading. It was tough and tasted bland with a strong hint of french fry grease. Her mashed potatoes were under the meat, so they were also covered in puddles of oil. The green beans were skinny, very bland, and bitter. The cream gravy was the consistency of extra thick paste. Her salad was full of finely chopped cucumbers. If you're gonna put these things in a salad you should: note them on the menu; cut them large enough so they can be easily removed. We like cucumbers but they don't like us, and there are a lot of folks out there who suffer the same cucumber ailment. She couldn't say anything since they were buying. She just smiled, and suffered through the nasty thing. (We never eat here 'cause they play that gawdawful, mainstream, cookie-cutter country music. With so many sources of real 'Texas' music, so near Austin, it's a shame they have to play Nashville muck. But it wasn't too loud, so I tolerated it.) Her meal wasn't nearly as bad as the other 2 in our party. They ordered flat iron steak, medium-well (always a crapshoot). They were served something with sauce and mushrooms. They don't care for 'shrooms, so the meat was sent back. The food finally arrived after we had eaten. Both steaks were cooked medium-rare. His was returned to the grill once and came back medium. Hers came back bloody again and was, again, returned to the kitchen. The third attempt failed though, as the meat was still bloody. She was too embarrassed to ask a 4th time so she choked some of it down, stuffed it in a to-go box and said she would finish cooking it tomorrow. The sever and staff handled it very well and did all they could to cover up for a clueless kitchen. They comped the 2 steaks and brought us 2 complimentary slices of key lime pie. The pie was sickeningly terrible; all sugar, no lime. To add insult to injury, we traveled to their house in Kerrvile from ours in Spicewood, picked them up, drove to and from the restaurant, and back home, a round trip of 270 miles. They have an incompetent kitchen that needs some help. The bread and butter were good though.

Stopped in after Christmas Shopping

We stopped by after some shopping and did not want to cook, so no place to get a home cooked meal like Longhorn. We could probably split this meal but we like to take some home.

Try the Perfect Margherita by Greta

By RABabcock |

I have become a weekly regular at this bar and it started ~5 mos ago by going to the bar (I was by myself) and meeting with the day bartender, Greta. She makes one of the best margheritas I've ever had. I was last there on June 5th and had a very good Renegade Steak (12 oz). I usually eat after the lunch rush hour and find the majority of the staff congenial and friendly. Greta is one of the best bartenders in San Antonio!
