My husband and I are members of the Atlanta Botanical Garden. On Sunday, on the spur of the moment, we decided to visit the Garden to enjoy the Imaginary Worlds exhibit, and dine at the Longleaf Restaurant for the first time. That decision made for a perfect Sunday. The decor is attractive and calming. The service is excellent. Fozia P., our Server, excelled at Customer Service. She was friendly, helpful, and attentive, making for a perfect dining experience. Recommend the Bread Basket, the Gazpacho, the French Omelet (simply and beautifully-plated and perfectly prepared) and the French Toast. Highly recommend dining at Longleaf. We look forward to a return visit!

We often go to the botanical gardens and then stop here for a glass of wine and a cheese plate or some appetizers. It’s great to sit on the terrace or in the window and watch the gardens, and the staff are great. One watch out - you need to pay to get into the gardens before you can use this facility

As a member of the garden I've been to Longleaf before and had excellent food but yesterday there were 4 of us there for the flower show. The pastrami was so dried out that my friends couldn't eat there meal and the French fries were cold. My salad was good except that the chicken that they added tasted like stewed chicken that they had sliced rather than grilled chicken. The only meal that was edible was the hamburger. The waitress was apologetic and took the sandwiches and chicken off the ticket but that left most of us without lunch. I had told my friends how good the food was during my previous visits. Needless to say I felt bad that this was their first experience.

Nice place to take a break and eat. Mostly sandwiches and salads but tasty. Excellent list of beers, and some wines and mixed drinks. This is a sit down restaurant. There is a cafe next to it, but only got coffee there later. Service was attentive.

We wanted to have the experience of eating in the garden but had a very difficult time making reservations long ditance from Tennessee. Finally my husband left a message and asked to be called back. Dan, the maitre d' called back, gave us a reservation and told us he would meet us when we got there. He was so personable and gave us a free glass of champagne for our inconvenience. We choose to sit on the patio and it was delightful. Seeing the plants and listenin to the birds provided a good ambiance. I already knew the price was high so I was not surprised. We had a charcuterie board as an appetizer and it was good. Several meats, trout and bread. Because we had the appetizer and wanted dessert, we asked if we could split an entree. The cut the entree in half and served us each half on a plate. Great service. We had blueberry creme brulee for dessert. Everything was good, the waitress made sure we had great service and they put our drinks in a to go cup since it was Cocktail thursday. We left to stroll the gardens, listen to music and enjoy a drink.

We ate at Longleaf in the Atlanta Botanical Gardens yesterday for lunch. We sat outside on the covered patio. The food, atmosphere and service was all wonderful. We had family friends in from out of town and they thoroughly enjoyed the meal.

On a unusual urge to splurge , we ambled into the gardens onsite restaurant & were rewarded. The lunch menu was a little slim but it was off-season. I had the Ruben & it came with fries. Wife had a roast beef P'boy with fries. Both were quite well prepared & very tasty. Everything appeared to be made on location. The corned beef & roast beef were superb ,. . along with the bread. We will definitely consider returning again.

It was our anniversary and we had been walking through the Atlanta Botanical Garden and ducked in here to cool off. We decided to have an appetizer. The waiter asked if it was a special occasion and gave us complimentary items that just made the experience fabulous. He was wonderful and interesting and informative about the offerings. We had a great time and I recommend you ask for Brian. He is an actor that has been in a "Madea" movie. So fun

We went to see the Garden Lights and had dinner at Longleaf. The new menu is excellent. I had the Osso Bucco which was great and my wife tried the flatbread (a bit smoky and spicy for me but she loved it). We will be back next time we visit the gardens!

Big disappointment. Long wait, disorganized. If you must eat while at the Botanical Garden, bring snacks and find somewhere else to eat. Don't do it.

My husband and I had dinner at Longleaf while visiting the Botanical Gardens for the Garden Lights. We really enjoyed our meals and the server was really nice. Our food was delicious. We made reservations well in advance as we knew it would be busy for the Garden Lights.

We visited in mid afternoon after we had been in the garden for about 4 hours. The cafeteria look of the tables belied the quality of food and service. There is a small but adequate menu with nice quality items. The Club sandwich was nice, as well as the shrimp and grits, and the Chicken salad sandwich. The bread pudding was quite pleasant albeit a bit heavy. While we did not have anything from the Wine/alcohol list, the selection was quite good and prices were very reasonable for many of the wines, especially some of the top line wines. Our service was pleasant and efficient except for a brief period immediately after we ordered our desert....I think there was an issue in the kitchen that caused that. As a member of the Botannical Garden, I might stop by for a lunch or early dinner: it was good enough to go again and pricing was low-moderate

This restaurant is located inside the Atlanta Botanical Gardens. It's easy to find from the front gate. Entrance fee is $21, so eating here would really only be paired with a visit to the gardens. The restaurant was all but empty on a Thursday afternoon. We were greeted by two very kind people. They were polite the whole visit. What surprised me was how slow it was with long stretches of waiting. I thought the food was just okay. I had a chicken salad sandwich. My daughter had a cheese burger, while my wife had the prosciutto sandwich. The prosciutto was tough and wanted to come out of the sandwich in one bite. When I factor in the price of $13 and 14 per sandwich, I am not sure it's worth it. I would visit this place more for the experience of having lunch in a garden versus enjoying the food and service. There is a huge cool aspect for craft beer lovers like me. They offer an exclusive craft beer sold only in this restaurant. They grow all the ingredients in the garden and then send it to a brewer (see pics).

It is conveniently located inside the garden to grab a bite when you are hungry. This not the place to go to look for healthy options, it is the typical fast food fare with a strong kid food friendly appeal. It's not the worst; when you are hungry you will appreciate that it's there. If I have hungry little ones with me, I'd go there; if I'm with other adults, I may stop for a sandwich and a glass of wine but, more than likely I would go to a restaurant outside of the garden.

I have been 3 -4 times to this restaurant in the last 2-3 years. Consistently has slow service but good food. It seems they are not improving. I went to have dinner during one of the Garden Lights evenings. I made a reservation and we arrived 5 min before the time. The restaurant looked in disarray, There was a bad smell (like bathroom), there were several tables empty and we stood for over 5 min. in front of the hostess stand where 2 people (staff) were talking to each other without looking at us. Other servers came to get menus and smiled at us or asked the 2 hostesses (I imagine?) things, they were occupied with everyone else, even a guest came to ask for something and they paid attention except us. We stood there like invisible for additional minutes until one of them looked at us and said "Hi" we are running late, so go for a walk and come back. We did after 15 min. They sat us down promptly and took us at least 20 more minutes for someone to come and take our drink order (the server was very nice). We did not get drinks for another 20 min. I had to go to the bar and order station to put in our appetizer order since by now is after 9pm and we have not even ordered (reservation was at 7:45pm). They comped the bread for the delay and throughout the evening the horrible bathroom smell continued. The ladies room did not have toilet paper. The food was good, the drinks were good, our server was nice BUT they have serious operational issues and most definitely the front of the house folks were extremely stressed or just lack basic hospitality principles. Make eye contact and acknowledge the guest in front of you.

This restaurant is at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens. It was the only place to eat that was open the day we were there in January. I was not disappointed. I had a cheeseburger with sauteed onions and it was very good. Their homemade chips were crisp and not greasy at all. There was only one other person in the place this cold January day so we had a lot of time to chat with our server and she was funny and service was great.

My family stopped and ate here during a visit to the adjoining gardens. I enjoyed my steak salad with potatoes, sugar snap peas, radish, boiled egg, olive tapenade, just the right amount for a light lunch on a hot day. Outdoor seating available. Allow plenty of time as the service was slow.

Able to enjoy both the air conditioning and scenic views, our group of four looked forward to having lunch here. At the onset, we asked for four separate checks and placed our orders. Although it was roughly a 1/2 hour before we were served, and we were the second group in attendance, the food was tasty, especially my Duck Confit. However, we were then told that we could only use two credit cards at our table. In all my dining experiences, I had never been told that we could NOT use our four individual cards, and this was at a venue that is cashless! Having eaten here frequently, as we attend the Christmas season as a family, purchasing the VIP tickets, I doubt that I will ever eat here again!

So we snuck into Longleaf after a delightful morning with our babies in the children's garden at the Botanical Gardens. They staff were extremely friendly and attentive, really knew the menu and took excellent care of us. We had some lovely French champagne and the blossoms appetiser and a burger and croque madam for mains. This place is great. Ambience very nice and food delicious for what I thought was just a cafe. They have fun events here I would highly recommend it for lunch/ dinner at botanical gardens events.

After a tour of the grounds we needed a bite to eat and wandered into this attractive and airy dining room not expecting much more than the usual fare at tourist attractions. We were surprised to have stumbled upon an elegant dining experience. Our waiter was friendly and knowledgeable(he told us all the staff takes classes to be educated on the menu offerings). As vegetarians, we were again pleased that there were several options to choose from. The Portobello Tartare was excellent as well as a (too large) serving of perfectly prepared and tasty risotto. We also chose a well toasted flatbread that, again was more than ample. It's clear that the kitchen takes pride and care with their offerings. The prices were more than reasonable for the service and flavors of this full-service restaurant. Go there!

Our group visited the ABG and had a choice of restaurants within the gardens. The majority of us elected this restaurant. We were greeted and seated in a timely manner. Our seats gave us a beautiful view of the gardens. Excellent. Our order was taken and delivered properly. Two of us had chicken and the other two had burgers. All delicious and the burgers were cooked as ordered. Service was very friendly and they were very accommodating. There was a lovely trainee with our server who was excellent. Our server, Robert, was delightful !!! After a tour of the gardens , this was a additional delight. Very nice lunch !

Had lunch with 6 friends and were fortunate to experience Robin as our server. We were all so blown away by her customer service we told the manager and found out it was literally her first week working there. She checked every box…attentive, accommodating, friendly, and the epitome of professionalism. Oh, the food was good too. Seriously, if you dine here you should ask to be seated in Robin’s section. I’ve never written a review solely for a specific server.

This is a restaurant at an attraction, but I was surprised at the prices and the small size of the portions. The wait staff was excellent, very attentive.

We had booked a time slot to visit the Atlanta Botanical Gardens in the latter half of July. We went in the morning on a Sunday to avoid the heat. We were wrapping up our visit around noon and had planned to make a short drive to a restaurant in midtown. After consulting my phone, it quickly became apparent that there were virtually no places open until late afternoon due to COVID restrictions, etc. We had noticed Longleaf was open a few minutes before, and since we were both hungry we opted for that. There was a short wait for a table since we had no reservations. We were seated but then had to wait a while for a server. I'm sure it is hard to match staffing levels with their socially-distanced tables, but they seemed to have underestimated that day. We placed our order and were at least able to people-watch out the window as other people wandered by in the gardens. Eventually the food arrived. It was pretty average; not bad, but not great. I think we both got sandwiches of different types. Prices were a bit higher than average, probably given that they can count on garden visitors not wanting to go to the trouble to leave for their meal. I'm not sorry we went, but if I had other options next time, I'd probably make a drive to someplace else.

We had a dinner for the first time at Longleaf restaurant. The restaurant is located on the grounds of Atlanta Botanical Garden. We were there on a Thursday evening. We had a reservation for a table of 5. We arrived there, on time, at 6 PM, and were seated immediately upon arrival. The building is a wonderful space with a lot of glass and athe view of the surroundings. It is furnished with mid-century-esque furniture and fixtures as well as nice paintings by Dale Chihuly. Service was friendly, helpful, and well-polished. We started our dinner with very nice cocktails. I had the shishito and the grouper entree. We also had wonderful desserts. Everything was well prepared and beautifully presented. I would serious consider returning here again. Highly recommended.

We ate here for lunch, after finding nothing yummy after looking at the quick service counter. My husband got a salad and added salmon. The Salmon was phenomenal. I had ordered an bacon lettuce avocado club sandwich which was okay. Service is slower than most. We had paid with a credit card that day, four months later they had officially finally charged our credit card manually which was an issue with their credit card machine. Which made us think it was fraud. Called and talked with the manager, was nice but didn't offer more than an apology. Would highly recommend paying with cash at this restaurant if you go. Who knows what is going to happen with your credit card data here.

The hamburger was fine, the fries were cold, and it is a pretty limited menu. I was pleased to be able to have a glass of wine with lunch.

Fresh from the garden vegetables. Bountiful servings of very creative dishes. My waiter was awesome, enjoyable, and attentive. It's a must.

Almost didn't go to this place because I wasn't sure about going to the Atlanta Botanical Gardens - I actually canceled my reservation and then decided to make another reservation just in case I decided to go to the botanical gardens... I was concerned about inclement weather and felt this would be a very expensive lunch to buy tickets to the botanical gardens and not get to experience it... In fact it ended being a very nice morning at the gardens and all the events was entertaining & educational - LONGLEAF was the highlight of the Atlanta Botanical Gardens and the weather was absolutely perfect... Plus my family seemed to enjoy their meal and I did as well... The ambiance was perfect - We ate outside on the upper level and we had a great server... It was definitely a must - The stroll through Piedmont Park was the beginning of the whole experience and I am so happy we got to experience this treasure...

We stopped here for dinner before walking through the lights display. Luckily, we had reservations. They were telling people the next available spot was two hours away. My braised beef was delicious, but the portion was small. The prices seemed kind of steep to me.

If you are taking the time to enjoy the many treats at the Atalanta Botanical Gardens, try and include Longleaf as part of your visit. It's a lovely venue staffed by friendly, efficient folks who really do want you to enjoy your visit. Try the burgers or the chicken salad: they were perfect! Nice simple beverage selections, including some craft beers. This is a nice stop along your .wanderings

Had a reservation for the patio, checked in a bit early and had to wait- no problem. But when we were seated, a server had put her cocktail tray on our table in order to hand out drinks, so we had to wait on that PLUS there was still food debris left from the prior patrons. The table was wobbly, and there were swarms of flies and yellow jackets every time a dish was served (we notied the bugs bothering other tables, too). I get that we were seated outside, but the sheer number of flies was too much. Our server was nice but not overly attentive. We had to ask for water refills, and I was never offered a second beer. There was also no pre bussing during our experience, so we still had share plates as well as our starter plate on the table at the end of our mains. I honestly expected a higher level of service. For the food- We started with the crispy pork belly, which was not crisp at all but had a nice flavor. The apple butter was a great touch. Disappointingly, they were out of the duck (perhaps there had been an issue with the purveyor), so I settled on the beef cheek ragu. It was very very delicious. My husband had the fish and chips. The cod was huge, and it was fried perfectly and very tasty.

This restaurant is a bit noisy when crowded but has lovely views of the surrounding gardens, attentive and polite wait staff, and outstanding vegetarian options. I ordered the vegetable plate and loved the variety offered and style of presentation. It included fried squash blossoms, okra, asparagus, etc. I’d definitely return just for this!

This restaurant is nestled in the Botanical Gardens. It is a dining extension of the Gardens. The windows and ambiance allows the landscaping to visually flow through the space. The squash Blossom appetizer was excellent. The vegetable plate was beautiful and a delight. A creative mix of vegetables that was a delicious as it was beautiful. Highly recommend making a reservation and making a full day in the Gardens.

After 3 hours of enjoying the botanical garden we were ready for lunch. We were seated quickly and our drinks brought right out. We had cheeseburgers, fries, salads and a BLT. All were tasty. The salads were the best-so fresh I am sure they came from the garden that morning. Be sure to order a salad. Recommend highly.

I have to agree with a few other diners that say the negative reviews must be from people that aren't happy anywhere. The family ate there after a nice stroll through the Gardens. Plenty of options for all the family members. We're a healthy family so good food is paramount to a good meal. My oldest ate the Shrimp and Grits. I ate the Superfood Bowl. A side of grits, a few drinks, dessert. Just wonderful. Will return for sure.

This restaurant is inside the Atlanta Botanical Garden and is a very comfortable, casual venue. We were there with our grand-daughters (ages 12 and 10). They are not finicky eaters, at all, and found the menu at Longleaf to have many good choices. One had the fish and chips and the other had the club sandwich with fries. My wife had the burger and thought it was excellent. I am on the gluten-free route and chose the side of hoppin' john with a side salad. It was very good with just a bit of a kick. The server answered several questions about the menu and there were several good entree choices without gluten. A nice place to eat and take a break while walking around the very lovely Atlanta Botanical Garden.

Went to the Atlanta Botanical Gardens for an early afternoon walk and to try the new Longleaf restaurant. It was a very hot day and lunch was a delicious, relaxing break. The food was excellent and the staff was courteous and efficient. We look forward to another visit perhaps on a cooler day when the patio can be enjoyed!

Great meal with great service! I had the chicken in a brioche, and a side salad. The chicken was a real, thick slice, with a good flavor (not the standard patty in a fast food restaurant), bun was sweet, vegetables were fresh and beautifully cut. Apple cobbler as dessert, baked freshly and served hot from oven - wonderful and pampering. Great service and good vibe from the waiter, Andrei.

The idea of dining at the Gardens is alluring, but Longleaf ruins it. We waited 25 minutes for a Martini, 30 minutes for bread. My shrimp and grits was so runny I had to try to strain the 20% shrimp and grits out of the bland soup. The price, before tip, for one alcoholic drink and two main courses, no dessert, was $78.

6 of us had dinner after walking thru Garden Lights. We arrived at the time of our reservation and were seated immediately right in front of the fireplace which was great since it was cold outside. We ordered all 3 salads to share which were split for us. All were delicious. Main courses were trout, shrimp and grits, and vegetable plate. Again all were very good. Desert was Panna Cotta and Custard. The server Tricia was attentive but not too overwhelming. Overall a very nice evening.

The Longleaf restaurant ambiance is in keeping with the Atlanta Botanical Gardens. Cocktails are designed by a mixologist and favor botanicals. The menu is creative as well, and entrée prices are in the medium range. Dining here then wandering the gardens is a wonderful way to have a romantic evening.

Had a nice dinner before the Garden Lights on 11/18/18. The server was terrific:Aon. The food was very good, particularly the squash blossom appetizer and salad. Shrimp and grits entree was nice but very expensive. Only 3 shrimp and they were slightly under-cooked. The ambiance is good, however, at this price point, one expects a little better. with a little better management, it could be excellent.

With floor to ceiling windows, Longleaf is an attractive, casual restaurant in the center of the Botanical Gardens. We were there at lunchtime during the week and it wasn't crowded. Our food came out pretty quickly and seemed very fresh. The server was pleasant enough. For simplicity and convenience, it's a great choice so that you can take a nice break and the extend your visit to the Gardens. The menu choices are fairly limited but it's good and on site.

Longleaf is the restaurant found at the Atlanta Botanical Garden. It is surprisingly good and fresh. It has a lite menu with a good wine list and very good service. A nice place to rest after seeing the garden and enjoying a walk. Worth your time and visit in Atlanta.

It is so nice to be able to visit the Gardens and eat out on the patio. The food is very good but the service is very slow. They are very polite and do check back with you but our table along with several others waited 45 min for our food and another 15 min for our carrot cake. Once again food was great but service way to slow-we ate around 2 o'clock and they were not packed.

Very excited that the botanical gardens now has a restaurant on site! The restaurant is upscale and chic and situated within the park. It provides a great option for lunch or dinner while enjoying what the park has to offer. It feels very cosmopolitan and is convenient especially if you’re visiting the botanical gardens where it is located. The menu is somewhat limited but offers good options for appetizers and entrees as well as a nice cocktails and wine menu. Enjoyed my experience here very much.

This is one of my favorite places for lunch! The menu is fresh and delicious, with a nice selection of wines - all in a beautiful setting. I recommend sitting outside to enjoy the garden.

We have been to Longleaf twice in the past month and have to say it was a very pleasant surprise both times. Flatbread appetizers, salads and burgers are all good. The biggest surprise may have been the wine list which resembles a fine restaurant but with very small mark ups compared to most. There were a number of hard to find domestic and foreign labels where prices were around 1.5x retail vs 2-3x elsewhere. Longleaf particularly good when weather nice as outside area shaded, inside atmosphere fine but nothing special. Make reservations in advance as based on staffing they sometimes do not easily accommodate walk ins. That can be frustrating at times as restaurant will not be full but they want to maintain service levels so won’t seat more than they can support. Finally, as has been noted, you can only visit the restaurant as part of a visit to the botanical, gardens.

Stopped for lunch while at Botantical Gardens. Seated on porch in shade of roof. Menu is much improved over the last establishment's. Sandwich and small meal choices were very good and not chef exotic. We had a garden salad and a club sandwich. Each was excellent. The kitchen split and plated the meal for us. Meal came with great French fries. Also have a nice selection of wines and beers. Excellent service and not rushed by Robert C. If you have kids, the children's menu options are great including scrambled eggs and bacon! We very much injoyed our lunch meal.

The restaurant was a welcome respite from the sun and heat to recharge for the rest of the gardens. The service was great and the food excellent. The prices were ok and the variety was great. If you get the cinnamon roll, be sure to be prepared to share.

Very nice choice while at the Botanical Gardens. Caesar Salad was great and my son enjoyed the Chilean Sea Bass. Nice wine list too. Quiet and intimate dining room.

After walking the trails in the Atlanta Botanical Garden you might feel a bit peckish, and if you are lucky you can get a table at Longleaf. The menu is the usual assortment of "artisan" this and that, kale and roasted beets and grass-fed beef of course, so no surprises. Just the place for lunch or afternoon tea, perhaps a cocktail.

Our friend who enjoys this restaurant made a reservation for the Sunday before Halloween. There was a costume party for the children at the garden and the restaurant was a madhouse. Restaurant was so busy and seemed understaffed. Our burgers were good, but the crowd made for a less than enjoyable time. If we return to Atlanta we might give it a try again hopefully at a less busy time.

My husband and I visited the Botancial Gardens for our first time on my birthday. The gardens are absolutely stunning and we had an amazing day (please see my review of the Atlanta Botanical Gardens). We decided to dine at Longleaf for lunch and we were fortunate to have Viviana for our server. She was absolutely fantastic. Friendly, kind and attentive. The food was delicious and well made. We are looking forward to dining at The Longleaf again during the holidays.

Much better than expected - great turkey clubs with real fresh turkey and delicious brunch waffle with fruit. Highly recommended - would usually expect overpriced mediocre food when you go to a place like this but is was reasonable and excellent.

Something we've been wanting to do for some time. After 22 years in Atlanta metro, finally made it to the ABG. Planned stopping at Longleaf with a 12:30 reservation. A little hesitant, because there is only one sample lunch menu on the website, we (my husband and I) went for it anyway. About 1/3 of the way through our time at the gardens we got to Longleaf.in time for our reservation and were promptly seated. It was pretty hot outside, so we sat inside. The ambiance is nice with all the windows - I mean, you're there to see the gardens - right? Anyway, the menu is a little sparse but, covers a good range of choices. We ordered the cheese plate to share (nice), the Barramundi (excellent), and the Shrimp and Grits - (good - but not the best I've had). The serving sizes were just right, and the presentation was simple and elegant. On the Shrimp & Grits, a little bland, and there was a lot of grits but, only 4 large (not jumbo) shrimp which, for the price seemed cheap but it was lunch, so I didn't say anything. We then shared the Chocolate mousse, which was excellent. Our server (Kendra) was charming, knowledgeable, and right on top of everything, without hovering - perfect. Overall a nice experience. One suggestion - music would be nice - light classical or perhaps "nature-scapes" of some kind? Would do again when coming back to the gardens.

Restaurant inside the the Piedmont Botanical Garden. The vibe is great Service was excellent Strip steak delicious Low carb options Amazing desserts Great wine selection Salad was so fresh and the the dressing was delicious Loved the experience!

Ate there with my wife and Son's family, which include a 6 and 4 year old. The kids menu was pretty good. The adult menu was upscale and very nice. They serve wine and Beer and other beverages which is unusual for a restaurant in an attraction like this. Everyone really enjoyed their meal the main complaint is the extremely slow service from the kitchen. The waiters seemed to do a good job.

The food at this cafe is really very good. Had the best chicken salad sandwich ever. Chicken salad? Yep. Only thing standard about it was the chicken and the celery. Ruben was excellent as well. Clean with fast service, courteous wait staff. With tip, lunch for $35-40.

We came from a lovely two-hour stroll thru the beautiful Atlanta Botanical Garden into a very pleasing and serene restaurant space. I had visions of creative vegetable dishes with optimally fresh produce prepared with care and simplicity. Instead, the menu featured a burger and fries, a beef po-boy, chicken salad sandwich. There were some boring salads and tired entrees such as shrimp and grits and grilled salmon. I opted for the most interesting sandwich I could find - a grilled gruyere and collard green sandwich. Disappointing. The bread was so over-toasted and hard I could not eat it. The collards were overdone with not much flavor. One of my friends ordered the same sandwich with fries- a pile of little nubs. My other two friends ordered the chicken salad. They did not rave. Had it not been for the great desserts, I would have given just two stars. Our server told us that the desserts were the best thing about the food at Longleaf.

I have visited the Botanical Gardens several times over the years but never stopped at this restaurant. So after walking around the gardens on a very warm day we decided to stop here for a little refreshment. The air conditioning with a cold drink was what we needed. We ordered a cheese plate appetizer since we did not want a big lunch. There were plenty of tables and we were seated right away. There is also a small cafe located nearby.

We stopped here for dinner at 7 pm on a Thursday evening, and were able to get a small (very small!) table outside. We are members at ABG and were looking forward to trying dinner at Longleaf. It wasn't busy when we arrived or ordered, but more diners did arrive afterward. I ordered a glass of Landmark Chardonnay ($13.50), my husband ordered a Thai Wheat beer ($8). We ordered a gazpacho ($8) and a peach salad ($9) for appetizers, and also received some bread. For entrees, he ordered a burger ($13) and I got the Mountain Trout ($21) as I very rarely eat red meat. There weren't a lot of choices for me. The gazpacho and the peach salad were ok; both had very delicate flavoring. The peach salad looked good at least. The burger and the trout grew cold before they were served to us. My husband said the burger was only ok, the trout had no flavor and the presentation, with a large piece of greens on the top was awkward if not kind of funny. I know trout is higher cost but $21 for something cold and with no taste? And why didn't we send the entrees back? Because our server evaporated. We literally did not see her again until we got our check. Poor. Haven't been back!

The setting is beautiful but the service is weak especially for the prices. My husband had the warmed olives in a reasonable amount of time, but we had to ask, and ask and ask for his club sandwich. The rest of party had finished their food twenty minutes before his arrived.

Dashed in for dessert and beverages after an afternoon at the beautiful Atlanta Botanical Gardens and wish we had not waited until the end of the day so near to closing time. Nevertheless, we shared a decadently rich, dense chocolate mousse with hazelnut praline creme and a creamy ricotta cheesecake custard with Panetta, strawberries and pistachios, which were both excellent. The atmosphere is mid-century casual chic with art works by Dale Chihuly, with expanses of floor to ceiling glass over looking the award winning nature conservation gardens on two sides, with indoor or al fresco dining options. Specialty cocktails, Wine, Beer, teas, coffees, an non alcoholic choice beverages available. Very pleasant management. Take away, cafe and lunch menus.

We had dinner after touring the Christmas Lights - quite a treat. The service was great but the atmosphere is very noisy. Bread was a bit old but salad, entrees, and dessert were all excellent.

What a lovely way to start a Sunday afternoon at the Botanical Garden. Staff is friendly and accommodating. We sat outside and it was wonderful to see families of all ages enjoying the afternoon. Kids seem welcome and are given special treats from the staff. Will look forward to future visits.

I am a member of the Garden but in all my visits I have never eaten here until this visit. We always have visited some of the other nice places to eat in Atlanta. My grandson wanted to eat here because after 2 and a half hours of touring the gardens and playing in the children's area, he was starving. We all had water since it was so hot and we probably had not had enough water all morning. The children had grilled cheese and french fries which only had a charge of five dollars each. The were so hungry that I also ordered rolls and stuffed squash blossoms. My daughter had a sandwich and I had the quiche. We all enjoyed our lunch very much and didn't leave a crumb! We will definitely visit again!

Great place to have a bite of well prepared and plated food. Small selection to choose from with about half being vegetable based. Kendra was our server and did a great job. Kept our drinks fresh and assured our food was great. The endive sweet pea hummus was great. Save room for desserts as they are fantastic. Good portion size so normal appetites are well served. Indoor our outdoor dining is available.

Ambient - sitting outside and watching trees and flowers in the middle of the Atlanta Botanical Garden in the middle of the City of Atlanta - enough said. Service - Kendra, who was serving us, was absolutely amazing, and made us fill really special. She was very knowledgeable, attentive, kind, patient, helpful and always with a beautiful smile. She really made our lunch unforgettable. Food - Outstanding - cheese platter had an excellent selection of cheese, including in-house made cheese spread. Eggs Benedict were very tasty and extremely well balanced. With all said and done, you can't go wrong with enjoying a meal in the Longleaf. We will be taking friends there on Thursday :).

Second visit - no surprises. Great food and attentive service. Waitstaff engaged the children was responsive to our requests.

We always enjoy eating at Longleaf in the Atlanta Botanical Gardens and yesterday was no exception. Great service and views and food. Very fine!

Long leaf is located inside the Atlanta Botanical Garden. Lunch options with fresh seasonal choices and varied price selections. Wonderful greeting from manager and attentive wait staff. Tables available inside or outside.

Plan to spend the day in the Botanical Gardens, since you have to pay for admission $22+ to eat @ this restaurant! We did not know this! Parking was $5, just to eat, so would have planned differently, if we had known. We enjoyed our delicious ham, provolone, tomato open-faced sandwich with organic salad and the garden gift shop! That’s all we had time for, so wish this information had been provided!

The atmosphere is high class comfort. The air conditioning works phenomenally which was very nice hot day. The service was outstanding and the food was amazing. We got a pear salad and added salmon and a French dip that tasted like they took the steak right off the grill.

The Longleaf is the windowed restaurant in the Botanical Gardens. Open until 7pm and until 9 pm Thursdays, it is big draw a lunch time. Undersized for a big crowd, it is better accessed after the main rush. We waited about 10 min. The menu has light fare and some entrees, well prepared and pleasantly served. We relaxed and enjoyed the view from large windows which look out on the gardens. For faster service there is a grab n go in the rear of restaurant

My cousin and I chose Longleaf after a stroll around the gardens. The food selection was wonderful and everything looked freshly-prepared; I saw fired chicken at one table but I try to eat healthy and ordered charred broccoli and an appetizer of chopped and marinated portobello mushrooms. Both were delicious. Dinner was not cheap- $73 for 2 people with water only- but good food is worth it. The wine list was a bit over-the-top; most selections were over $100 a bottle. Fortunately my cousin and I don't drink at lunch! Food was a bit slow to arrive but our waitress was excellent and attentive refilling water glasses and offering ice cubes and lemon slices. Another factor I appreciates was being able to enjoy high-quality food without having to get dressed up!

Duck was very good, side of lentils and kale was not so good, braised short ribs was average, trout was ok, lacked flavor though. Shrimp & grits were a little watery but good flavor. Overall an average meal at best. Was disappointed for the price I expected better, great service though. Appetizers and desserts were overall the best part of the meal.

Came in today (Tuesday June 10, 2025) around 12:30pm while visiting the gardens. What a great day to have lunch on the patio. The weather was perfect did us anyway we got to sit on the patio, under the roof of the restaurant and enveloped in the gorgeous green canopy of the beautiful botanical gardens. We had to wait about 20 minutes to be seated even though there were many open tables. After being seated we waited about 15 minutes for our server. There seemed to be only 2 or possible 3 servers for the whole restaurant so perhaps they had a staffing shortage today. Luckily we happened to get the best server ever by the name of Akeem’s, who is extremely pleasant, professional and efficient. We had already chosen our appetizers and entrees so we were able to give our orders right away. The food came out pretty quickly once we ordered which was great. For an appetizer to share we had the Tartare of Beef, which was wagyu beef, bone marrow, chanterelle and egg yolk, anchovie aioli with chips. The flavor of this was incredible, you could faintly taste every little ingredient, but they were distinct and yet melded together well. Next appetizer we had the poached pear/coppa de corse flatbread, which is basically pizza. This dish is incredibly good. I can’t say I’m not sure if there was a pear flavor, it’s hard to describe the flavor really, but it was incredibly fresh and tasty with a very light crust, topped with arugula. Really enjoyed this “pizza”. Our entree was the dish and chips which normally is “halibut “ and fries, but they had no halibut so substituted with rainbow trout. There’s a big difference between halibut and rainbow trout but we bit the bullet and tried it. The trout was fresh tasting enough but the breading/crust really took away from the flavor, and it very dry. As for the fries, I’m not big on fries but these were very unique. I couldn’t describe the flavor exactly, it was if they were seasoned with some kind of spices you might find on a piece of chicken or maybe even fish (?), again I’m not sure but they were extremely fresh, very tasty and incredibly light with very little grease for french fries. We just had eaters with our meals since we would be walking the gardens after. So for 3 small dishes and waters we paid $64. We probably should have not ordered the fish and chips since they didn’t have halibut so that was a disappointment. Our server Ajeema was the spotlight of the visit. If more restaurants had staff members of such caliber the world would be a better place. Since it was my friends birthday today and Ajeemas is also close she was nice enough to bring out a small pastry to celebrate; man that was like the absolute best thing ever and really made our day! Thanks again Ajeema and hope you have the best birthday ever! Parking is ample and of course the location and atmosphere is impeccable. Definitely recommend.

I have eaten here many times in the past, and it was good. My last visit 2/25/2024 was not excitable. We had a reservation and sat right down. I was told that they we out of honey, so I could not get green, no big deal. I then noticed that the table was not attached to the post well. Nothing was done or offered the remedy. We ordered, and I got the special filet and fries. The vegetables were very greasy and the steak was cold. My wife got the smash burger, dry over cooked, and looked like fast food. Had to ask for everything, including condiment and salt and pepper condiments, etc! Took 30mins to get the check and 2 hours to eat as the service was horrible. To boot, they tried to change us $12 for a salad we did not order. Would not recommend to an enemy!!!

I went here with a friend who is a member of the Atlanta Botanical Garden, hence I at least did not have to pay the steep entrance fee ($22) into the garden in order simply to eat at this vaunted (in some circles) restaurant. (Her membership also got us free parking in the adjacent decks; again, no small matter.) The weather was perfect so we enjoyed a 30-minute walk in the forested Canopy Walk, which had changed a great deal in the two years since I last was here (that $22 fee again). At about 1 p.m., the restaurant’s sleek, contemporary, glass-sided interior was deserted. On the linear outdoor patio about six people were taking advantage of the pleasant weather. No one was at the reception stand but after we waited around a few minutes a staffer in denim shirt and blue jeans appeared from the kitchen. Really? Denim? Blue jeans? In a stylish, highly vaunted restaurant? That you must pre-pay $22 simply to enter? I have long since grown bored with denim as a default option and here it simply did not set an appropriate tone. Outside, each table had two styles of chairs. One was orange plexiglass with a comfortable, rounded back. The other was of black wrought iron that hit the back at an uncomfortable level. As our host/waiter Robert had not stuck around, we took the liberty of exchanging chairs with another table (more about this later). Water was poured into stylish rounded, stemless GLASSes. My unsweetened iced tea ($3) arrived in a clear PLASTIC to-go cup. Whaaa? Why? And it was served minus the standard accompaniments of a choice of artificial sugars and a slice (preferably two) of lemon. Minus even a generous helping of ice. Bad beginning. I had to flag down Robert, who definitely did not exhibit the attitude one expected of a highly vaunted restaurant (and never offered to refill my plastic cup). About this time, my friend informed me that the original partner and chef extraordinaire, Linton Hopkins, of Restaurant Eugene (one of Atlanta’s premier fine dining spots), was no longer associated with the operation. The name had been changed from Linton’s to Longleaf, accordingly (to honor the state’s ubiquitous longleaf pine tree). The menu was ambitious and all over the place. So were prices, one reason my friend had suggested we not eat in the main dining room but in the snack bar—I was treating, you see, and she was looking out for my pocketbook. But I insisted as I’d heard so much about the place. (Again, I was not aware ownership had changed.) Appetizers, for instance, ranged from a soup or salad for $8 to a $15 cheese or charcuterie plate. Entrées included a tuna Nicoise salad and a veggie plate, both pricey (I thought) at $19. Trout was $24, chicken breast $18 and (not exactly cutting edge) shrimp and grits cost $21. An omelet could be bought for $10. Sandwiches seemed to fill the bill for the two of us from both a price standpoint and what sounded appetizing. From a choice that included croque madame ($15), chicken salad ($10), shrimp salad ($12), vegetable pita ($13) and turkey club ($12), my friend chose the lightly fried catfish po-boy ($12). She pronounced it “too much bread, fish dry until I finally reached some sort of sauce.” My grass-fed Georgia beef burger ($13) was excellent, even though my request for medium-rare looked more rare. It was a perfect texture, monsterized with American cheese, griddled red onion, lettuce, mayo and b&b pickles (normally not my favorite but here very good) on a sesame seed bun. For $2 each I could have added bacon and a fried egg. (I constantly wonder WHY ruin a dish with a fried egg—which I love, but at breakfast.) I only wish there had been a hint that it came with a large helping of string French fries (no indication on the menu or helpful tip from Robert) or I would have asked to substitute a salad. As it was, I ate them guilt-free and they were delicious! So was the catsup, possibly homemade with a “je ne sais quoi” that definitely was not Heinz. Sides, by the way, were all $6: grits, creamed corn, potato hash, collards, tempura lions mane—which I had to look up later; it’s a type of mushroom. Trouble was, it took about 25 minutes for our orders to arrive, this when the restaurant was virtually empty. Finally we had to flag down Robert to ask him to speed it up. Even “ladies who lunch” have a schedule to keep! My friend finished before I did and got up to look at something, during which time Robert switched her chair back to the uncomfortable one. Unfathomable. She returned and spent the next ten minutes in discomfort. While bolting the last of my burger, I happened to glance at the vegetation bordering the patio. There, among the plants, in a meticulously groomed botanical garden, was a candy bar wrapper and several other bits of trash. Unfathomable. In general, I found menu items anything but extraordinary, more run-of-the-mill southern or pseudo French. (I dislike croque madames, even in France, while salades Nicoises can vary radically and I would not risk $19 to see how this one was organized and prepared.) Perhaps executive chef Jason Paolini (is he the one doing the cooking?) executes them impeccably and creatively. Probably I’ll never know. I found Longleaf not only unremarkable but disappointing. My food was terrific but all the little indignities added up. And then there’s that $22 cover charge….

The restaurant was great..the food was good and the price was reasonable. It's very convenient and just right inside the gardens.

We had the chicken liver patè dish, which was served with insufficient crostini to put on. We were charged $2 for extra crostini, which were chewy and seemed old. Server was not particularly attentive.

I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the food... the Kale Salad is my favorite. We sat outside and keep enjoying the beautiful garden. They do not take advantage of the visitors with exorbitant prices and the staff was super courteous.

I was visiting the botanical garden with family from NJ . There was a wait for a table . I went to the bar to get a glass of water because I wasn’t feeling well . Your bar tender denied me the glass of water because he said his policy is only alcohol or purchased drinks . He said he cant be giving water to everyone that walks to the bar since it would form a big line . Great souther hospitality. The bar tender was chubby with a reddish beard and the date was Friday may 31st 2024 , time 3:15 pm .

I can’t remember when I’ve had a more pleasing experience. The Garden setting, delicious martinis, incredible food, outstanding service. We ate outside, which added to the loveliness of the evening. Kristen H. was an amazing server. She wanted to be sure everything was perfect. The meal was so special that we had lots of questions. She kept returning to the chef to get answers. We had yummy trout, with arugula on top. Spaghetti squash which I’ve always thought was tasteless, was perfectly delicious. Apparently the shiitake mushrooms added the unique flavor. What a great chef, great bartender, great server!

Had dinner at Longleaf at the Atlanta Botanical Garden tonight—great experience! 🌿 The crispy pork belly and sea scallops were delicious, and the margarita was perfect. Great ambiance, plenty of parking, and excellent service from Russ. A bit pricey, but worth it for the quality. Highly recommend!

Waiter was great food was excellent! Will plan on going again when in the area. We sat upstairs and enjoyed the sites and sounds.

A couple of weeks ago, my wife and I visited the Atlanta Botanical Garden with several other members of our family who were visiting from out of town. All together, our party was 4 adults and 6 young children. This was my first visit to the Gardens with so many of our grandkids, and I was extremely pleased with how the recently renovated Lou Glenn Children's Garden had been set up with children of all ages (even the old ones like me!) in mind. When it came time for lunch, we went to Longleaf based on the recommendation of our daughter who had previously dined there. Our large party of 10 was seated almost immediately, and our server, Bonita, introduced herself and started taking our orders. We have family members with food allergies, and Bonita was wonderful guiding us through the menu options. She could not have been more helpful or attentive, and we really appreciated the fact that she did not make anyone feel uncomfortable about their dietary restrictions. As important, she was very patient with the 6 kids at the table who ranged in age from 3 to 9 years old. We had a couple of appetizers and entrees for 4 adults and the 6 kids. Jason, our chef, prepared all the dishes to perfection. The food was great, Bonita's service was impeccable (lighthearted, fun and professional - a rare combination!), and prices were reasonable. After a long day visiting the gardens, this was just the break that we were all looking for. We all know the horror stories of kids being kids in restaurants that are not kid-friendly. That's not likely to happen at Longleaf because of caring and attentive people like Bonita and Jason as well as the rest of the professional wait staff. Well done, 5 well-deserved stars Longleaf! Next time you visit the gardens, stop by Longleaf and ask for Bonita!!

Unfortunately, my recent visit to Longleaf Restaurant left me disappointed once again. After a less-than-stellar first experience—where they were out of drink items and got our order wrong—we decided to give them another chance. Regrettably, this visit was even worse. When we arrived, the restaurant was completely empty, yet we were told reservations were required. We made one and returned later, only to find the restaurant still nearly empty. Despite this, it took 15 minutes for anyone to even acknowledge us after being seated. While the manager did apologize, they still didn’t have the drinks we wanted from the menu. For a restaurant that markets itself as upscale, it’s unacceptable not to have staple items in stock or to update staff so they can manage guest expectations. As someone who works in hospitality, I was especially disappointed by the lack of professionalism. The hostesses spent their time laughing and joking while guests were left waiting for basic water service. Although our server, once assigned, did an excellent job, it wasn’t enough to salvage the experience. It’s unfortunate because we wanted to enjoy this visit, but it simply fell short again. Moving forward, I’ll stick to the snack bar instead.
An Experience I Wish I had Avoided
If you visit the Atlanta Botanical Garden I suggest you dine at a nearby Restaurant. We decided to try the Brunch at the Longleaf Restaurant on the premises. Great venue and truly great ambience. But this is not my reason for dining. I was hungry. The restaurant opens at 11:00. I was starving by 10:00 which is the usual opening time for most brunch places. The menu items had a limited choice of breakfast. French toast and So called French Style Omelette. We choose to order both items and share them. The omelette arrived and consisted of eggs only. I mean eggs only. No detectable spices and no filling. The omelette was cooked perfectly but was..tasteless and bland. You would expect a "French" Omelette to be very tasty. I have been to France a dozen times and believe me this does not measure up to the quality of food found there. The addition of chives, salt and pepper would have been acceptable. The coffee was bitter. The French Toast was slightly under-cooked but otherwise OK. We ordered a side of bacon and got two smallish strips. Considering the cost four strips would have been the right amount. There was some lettuce on the plate that was far to oily and didn't have any flavor as well. Sort of reminded me of what you wold have been served if you we on a bland diet. Over priced and disappointing. There is better food to be found in the area around the botanical garden. At $32.00 for two this was a costly culinary experience I wish I had avoided, The Botanical Garden on the other hand was Perfect in Every Way.
