The food was delicious, I had Oxtails and they didn't disappoint . I recommend this restaurant. The con to this is they need more help and to have enough food for the day. The conch salad was all gone by 1pm.

Good location. We did a Take-Out and the wait was tolerable.

Good location. We did a Take-Out and the wait was tolerable, The restaurant is attractive and exactly what we needed in Miami Gardens. And we did enjoy our food.

Great Caribbean Food

By Gerald & Tecia |

The food was everything that I thought it would be and more. Bae and I both ordered the rice and peas and cabbage. He got the curry chicken and I ordered the jerk chicken. Great flavors and no additional seasonings were needed. The drinks were good too (peach paradise and Lorna paradise). Would definitely come back the next time I’m in the Miami area!! The restaurant looks really good and the employees are great!!

A Welcome That Felt Like Coming Home

By Drea |

Upon entry, I was greeted so warmly that I decided to return tomorrow night and tell all my friends about it. I am far from home. So walking into a place that made me feel like family was extraordinary. I look forward to eating more and more delicious food. And drinking plenty wine.

Great family spot near Hard Rock stadium

By f S |

We were starving after a day of watching sports at Hard Rock Stadium and found this place nearby. It’s a classy, pleasant, convenient family spot about a half mile from the stadium. Features Caribbean shrimp, fish, chicken, goat and beef. Great sides, great sauces – – they call them gravies and they know how to cook. The service was attentive and friendly and fun. Cocktails were excellent, at reasonable prices. Don’t miss the Lorna’s Paradise if you like a Caribbean rum punch.

Local gem

By wdearmitt |

My son and I were staying nearby to attend the NCAA Football Championship at Hard Rock Stadium and were looking for a local grill to try. A Google search led us to this place. At first it didn’t look like much but the staff was extremely friendly. It was a very welcoming atmosphere. They were out of jerk chicken which was disappointing so we both had the island snapper. It was absolutely delicious. I don’t know exactly what was different about the fries but they were crispy and very tasty. We were glad we chose this establishment. I would go back if I were ever in the area.

Married for Life Ministry

By Flo R |

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Beautiful Experience at Lorna’s Caribbean & American Grill! Our Married for Life ministry group—14 married couples strong—recently dined at Lorna’s, and the experience was nothing short of amazing! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with genuine warmth, courtesy, and a welcoming spirit. Our server was attentive and efficient, taking our orders with care and accuracy. To our delight, the food arrived quickly, piping hot and beautifully presented. We enjoyed a flavorful spread that included oxtails, rice and peas, plantains, curry chicken, fish sandwiches, fried conch, conch balls, and more. Every dish was rich in flavor, perfectly seasoned, and absolutely delicious—a true celebration of Caribbean and American cuisine. Thank you, Lorna’s, for helping us create such joyful memories. We’ll definitely be back—and we’ll be bringing more friends with us! Elder Floyd Reed

Ambience & Spice & Everything Nice

By Dre' Miami |

This was our first visit to the relocated and more upscale Lorna's on 27th Avenue near 199th Street in beautiful Miami Gardens. We were promptly greeted at the door by our Hostess, who graciously escorted us to a cozy table next to the beautifully designed copper wall. Our Server Patrice was very friendly, engaging, and quite knowledgeable about the menu. She was able to make some very pleasing menu suggestions for us to try. I dared to try the spicy Escovitch Fish (Snapper), Peas & Rice, and Corn. My friend tried the Soup Of The Day, Blackened Salmon, Mac & Cheese, and Corn. Our taste buds were pleasantly surprised by the freshness and intensely seasoned flavor of our food. Although the vegetables surrounding the Escovitch Fish had an intense vinegar and spicy flavor (the kind that made me sweat, even in the A/C), the meat of the fish itself was most enjoyable. My friend commented that the Blackened Salmon was perfectly cooked and quite tasty. We give Lorna's an "A" for hospitality, ambience, delectable dishes, and the upscale charm it springs on all who enter. And yes, on this visit we were blessed enough to be able to actually meet the owner, Ruthie. She too was engaging, gracious, and beautiful. We will definitely be back for more of the delectable dishes and genuine hospitality.

Great Food & Service

Whenever I eat here, the quality of the service & the food is consistently great. I recommend the curry conch meal. 😋

The meal was good, but the service, not sure how to phrase it. Most of the things I ask for that was on the menu; they did not have

A hidden gem with top notch cuisine

By Scott W |

Lorna's Caribbean is about a 15 minute walk from Hard Rock Stadium. Post-game we could simply not find an uber or a cab and decided to get a quick drink, and stumbled upon this absolute gem. The service was prompt and very friendly, and the atmosphere was solid. TVs at the bar showing sports and a mix of families and friends. The food was excellent. We started with the jerk wings, which had a nice crisp and came with a spicy but flavorful sauce. Then I got the oxtail stew and my friend got the goat stew. Decent portions and we both had the rice and "peas" (beans) and plantains on the side. Delicious. In every city there are restaurants like this, but they're usually hidden away in neighborhoods. This one is hidden in plain sight! I'm looking forward to being back in Miami to revisit this special place.

Delicious food and very courteous service! We ordered coconut shrimp as the apettize and Island Snapper as the main dish and we strongly reccomend both!

Great Local Place

We went to Lorna’s restaurant while visiting local friends in Miami and had a wonderful visit. Nice decor, great service and delicious food. The owner even stopped by our table to say hello! I had the curried goat which was fantastic. Definitely recommend a visit if you are in the area.

Living La Vida Lorna's

By Alicia A. |

I'm originally from Miami, but live in Atlanta and I visit often. This, however, was my first time visiting here. I had 22 people come through that were visiting from various places for my birthday, and we all loved it. Beautiful people coming together to enjoy the food, spirits and the music. It's was a 'grown and sexy' feel! I am in Miami often, so this is now one of the spots that I have to chill at while I'm here.

Food was not tasteful

By Paul B |

Waited forever for service, drinks are full of ice and you have to pay for a refill, order was not hot and a degree from being cold.

Excellent food and service

We felt so welcome when we entered this restaurant and even other diners said hello. It looks to be a very neighborhood restaurant. Our food was delicious and we would definitely recommend them.

Great Lunch Special for $8.00!!!

By Miru-chan |

They have daily lunch special for $8.00!!! We visited there on Thursday, and they had beef stew, which comes with Caesar salad and soda. Beef stew was so delicious with lots of meat and you cannot beat this kind of lunch special price anywhere else!!!

Great Caribbean Food in Miami Gardens

By iramccown |

Revisited this busy (especially at lunch) Caribbean restaurant in the mall on Southwest corner of 27th Avenue and 183rd St. The food is excellent with lunch including soda and full meal for around $10. Due to crowding at lunchtime, service can be a little slow at times but always polite.

Bahamian Masterpiece

By Al A |

Great Food and excellent service. Upon my arrival I was greeted by Sheirah who was very welcoming. The restaurant is very well decorated and clean. I ordered the Jerk Chicken with Rice & Peas and plantains. The Flavor was authentic, food was fresh, and a large portion was served. If you are in the Miami Gardens area and want to eat some great Bahamian food you must stop and dine in or order take out. Will definitely be back.

Wonderful food, friendly staff, great atmosphere!

By Heather F |

It was so good! We stopped in before the orange bowl so if was busy! My husband got a cheeseburger and I got the jerked chicken. My picky teenage daughter got chicken tenders and ate it ALL!! That never happens. I had to try the burger which was amazing. My jerked chicken was so delicious, but a warning- it has a kick to it so if you can't take the heat, maybe try something else there. I love spicy and i thought it was spicy haha, but delicious! The fries were so crispy! The table beside us had an issue. In fact, the man walked over and told me to order quickly if I wanted to get to the game on time because they had been waiting a long time to get their food. I watched how the many staff members handled the couple with care and concern. I think the ticket got lost- understandable since they were packed. But i was just so impressed on how they handled a problem which was even better than their delicious food! I'm from PA but I want to come back again one day! That mac n cheese was bangin!

Lorna's Caribbean is worth the drive

By Ben D |

Everything's good there, it was worth the drive from the beach for Father's day brunch. Great food for real though.... The snapper is just right!

Service was horrible, the food was good... If it arrives

Read good reviews about the restaurant and wanted to support and local business to celebrate my bday. It was a nightmare to make a reservation but when i got in touch with the manager, the experience was pleasant. Arrived for my party at 8... And they had no record of reservation so we had to wait half an hour for table to be created. I was appreciative of their efforts and was glad to finally have things underway. There were 12 people in my party and it took an extra 20 minutes for anybody to come take our food order. Went to the bar 3 times to try to get a drink to brighten my mood but was ignored... even after placing my drink order 3 times!!! The band didn't get started until about 930 and no one in my party had any food. It literally took almost an hour and a half for anybody to get food and it came out like this: plate 1... 20 minutes later- 2 more plates.... 10 minutes later-1 more plate. The process was so frustrating that half of the party left. All of the orders that did make it to the table were WRONG! It was very tasty though. I spoke with the manager who was there and told him about the crazy issues several times and he assured that it would be rectified, but it wasnt. The frustration hit the roof when it took me an additional 25 minutes to get the check. Despite the poor service I still tipped the waitress because I don't feel like she could help the slow kitchen and the fact that they were severely short staffed. The basics in hospitality were definitely missed here. The owner and his wife were present and did nothing to help out the frustrated customers.

Lorna's ROCKS!!

Outstanding Restaurant! - Food was absolutely delicious!! Easy to see why it is rated one of the absolute best restaurants in Miami! Our server - Tyra - was professional, informative, attentive and had an awesome personality - she handled a multitude of complex orders excellently and made our lunch an experience we will never forget 👍🏽😋
