Been there, done that, never again

By SinCity4me |

It disturbs me to write a negative review but if it saves someone else from having the experience my wife and I had this week at Lou's Diner then it will be worth it. But first a few kind words. When you enter this establishment you would swear you stepped back into the 50's. The decor is old style diner with a antique theme. It is very well done and very charming. However the charm of the antiquity is spoiled by the lack of courteous service. The young lady that waited on us, I'm assuming to be the grand-daughter of the owner, was flat out rude. No smile, no greeting, no welcome, just flat out dropping the menu on the table and asking what we wanted to drink. We were taken back by the abruptness and ordered our drinks. When she returned, things weren't much better. Again with the abruptness, " What can I get for you". I was tempted to reply " Would a little politeness be out of the question" but instead we simply placed our order. The food arrived in a timely manner and, although not extraordinarily good, was tasty. At no time during our meal were we asked if everything was satisfactory or offered refills on our coffee. Only when presented with the check and I asked if we paid her or at the register did we get a smile with her say "I will be glad to take it for you". My wife laughed when she left saying maybe she was glad to get rid of us. I noticed the older woman, probably the grandmother, making rounds talking to what must have been regulars but she never approached our table. We attributed it all to our being stranger which is exactly what we will remain. Since moving to Vegas in 96 we had heard of Lou's and, in fact, driven by it several times saying we would try it some morning. So now I can honestly say, been there, done that, never again.

Excellent service and great food!

By opuslive |

A little off the beaten path but we'll worth it. A 15 minute drive from the strip. Very friendly! Our server Morgan was friendly and made us feel like regulars even though it was our first time here! A great value and a great spot! We will be back!

Excellent Value & Good Food

By AdvisorOntario |

I never miss an opportunity to go to Lou's several times when I come to Vegas. The service is great and many of the staff have been there for years. They are open only for breakfast starting at 5:30 AM and lunch and close at 3 PM I think. There biscuits and gravy are great so I am told by one of my southern friends who knows this food. I Ike the lunches and yesterday I had the seniors as I usually do. I passed up on the $5.99 special and took one of the standard senior lunches at $6.50. That was salad, half tuna melt sandwich and fries. Left me feeling just right. This is a place you do not want to miss. A short drive from the strip on Decatur. A great place for the locals.

Great place for breakfast

By PaulieO1965 |

Tried a previous visit 2 yrs ago and came back. Just as good as I remembered. Came twice during my stay and almost missed my flight. Had a bacon omelet with home fries with wheat toast and pancakes with a side of bacon the 2nd time. If you know a good diner or have memories of one you won't be disappointed with Lou's. The owner and staff are friendly and attentive and will refill your coffee and tea as much as you like. Just like the diners of old did with no extra charge. Try the owners homemade preserves on crackers. He is very proud of his homemade preserves. Cooks know what they're doing and a full stack of pancakes (3) will fill you up. They cook their bacon to perfection, crispy but not burnt. Coffee is good as well as a great value. Whenever I can get to Vegas I know where my breakfast will be. they also have a nice lunch menu but I've only had breakfast there. Worth the trip

Great lunch

Had lunch here with the guys after a morning of activities. Fast service, good menu, great pie.Had the daily special with cherry pie. Yummy!!

Fabulous little breakfast spot

By T0610 |

This litter diner is amazing! We’re not local, like most of the crowd here, but we always have a rental car and stop here every time we’re in town! Everything we’ve ever ordered here has been fantastic! My favorite is the Julies Favorite omelet, with home fries! They also make their own Jelly/Jam and usually have 3 different flavors to choose from! This time they had blueberry, raspberry, and mango. All of which were very good!

Best breakfast EVER

This was the beat place we have ever had breakfast. The food was incredible, everything we ordered was perfect. The staff was INCRESIBLE. Cannot say enough great things

Old fashion Dinner

Great place for Breakfast. The employees are always friendly. Great pricing and menu. I have not tried their cakes and pies but they are homemade and look great. The homemade berry jam they serve with breakfast is the best. Hope to go for lunch soon.

A Hidden Gem

By AdvisorOntario |

Just a short note to say how impressed I was with the service and food. A look into the past with an old gramaphone and more. Lunch special was egg salad sandwich and soup or salad for $6.50. They even have seniors meals which is nice. Looks like a lot of local folks go here, many of whom are recognized as they walk through the door. I plan to go back. Great value and only minutes from the strip.

Lou's Diner

By jfh069 |

This is a local's place, off the beaten track but well worth finding..Small but well worth the effort to wait for a place to set. Food is excellent, waitstaff are friendly an always moving. Great small diner atmosphere.

AMAZING FIND!

By BRRUYTENBEEK |

This is an amazing spot for breakfast....everything we had was AMAZING! We ordered pancakes, Belgian waffle, and eggs/bacon with fresh fruit and freshly-squeezed OJ. Bonus....the fresh-made jams, only wish I could've taken them with us on the remainder of our trip, but needed to be kept cold I wish we found this spot earlier on our vacation, but so HAPPY that we dined there at least once! Super yummy and a great spot for breakfast when you are in the Las Vegas area....I'd jump on a plane and head straight there anytime!

Leave the Strip and get the best breakfast in Vegas.

By Bonnie E |

This will be our go to place every time we visit Vegas. This family owned diner is the friendliest restaurant I’ve ever visited. The breakfast is delicious, with lots of homemade jams and creative specials. We tried the blueberry cream cheese stuffed French toast which was as delicious and decadent as it sounds. If that wasn’t wow enough try the chocolate waffle topped with ice cream and whipped cream. It was dessert for breakfast. The coffee is delicious too. Every table is served complimentary samples of five or six homemade jams. All of the employees were cheerful and happy. It must be a great place to work because everyone was so upbeat. We were greeted by the owner who was so enthusiastic that he came outside as soon as he saw us walk up just so he could greet us. He checked on us two times during our meal just to see how we liked it. Do not judge it by the outside. It has a simple appearance. The inside is a slice of Americana, pie included. I highly recommend this cute restaurant.

Great local diner

By ChrisKellyNZ |

Thoroughly enjoyed this diner! Good food, with plenty of traditional choices and staff were friendly. Great place to meet locals and get a feel for life in this part of Vegas :-)

Not good

By Jayne Russell |

I ordered a side salad and Monte Cristo. The salad had more dressing than lettuce, and the sandwich was deep fried and soaked with oil and was not edible. I went there specifically for this sandwich because of the good reviews, but the food was terrible and not worth the $20 cab ride.

Do Not Miss This Diner!

By Zengirl |

You must go to Lou's Diner while in or near Las Vegas! The service was amazing and fast, the food excellent and plentiful, and our waitress Amy was the best waitress we have ever had in all my travels in the US. Try ALL their homemade jams. We even went back to buy some by the jar on our way out of town. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Never knew!

By carolb1974 |

I am a newbee to the Spring Valley area and a friend invite me to breakfast. He lives around Campbell and Palomino, we went to Lou's Diner, what a great surprise. Service is superb, and the food is awesome and plentiful at a great price. I can't wait to go back, its kinda hidden. Decatur and Alta. Loved it.

Pickles

By JB |

Thank you, Pickles! Great service.. glad we got a gift card to send our family back for good food.. good biscuits and gravy..unexpectedly good Julie's omlette. No reservations - we waited 20 minutes for a table of three to become available. Nice conversation with the guy at the door taking "waiting names".

At home feel with great food

By Tim29650 |

This is a great place to have a great meal for breakfast or lunch. The service is great and friendly. The owners are down to earth family people who care about their customers and their staff. This place will make you feel like home.

Loved this hidden away gem

By Peterinl0nd0n |

Ignore the appearance from the outside (typical retail park frontage) this oasis of a retro diner is fantastic. The friendliest service in town matched by some great plentiful food. We loved it so much we came back the next day for breakfast! Will be a regular stop in Vegas from now on. Thanks to Tripadviser for suggesting it when I searched!

Skip the casino buffets and come get a real breakfast!

By oiost8fan |

Hidden gem off the strip but well worth the drive. Expect to wait up to 30 mins for breakfast / brunch, but so worth waiting for. Service was excellent and the food is phenomenal! They have a secret menu that you access via QR code on a card at the table, definitely check it out. I ordered the pastrami Ruben omelet off of it and it was amazing!

We LOVED Lou’s!

By Curiousdeborah |

Lou’s is a great diner with incredible service from our sweet and detailed wait person Amy and others the moment we arrived. Food is classic diner but better. Well worth the short drive.

Old time diner

By gulfcoastbreezes |

Looking for a restaurant that is an authentic diner and not a chain restaurant? Lou's Diner is perfect. Vintage decor, American diner food served by friendly wait staff. Reasonable prices.

Free appetizer!

By Marit K |

The whole visit is always an experience! The food is always good and the service is too. I like the Senior menu (anyone can order from it) because of the smaller portions.

Historic Diner

By jg3arrow |

This diner has been here since the late 1960s, when Decatur & Alta was the edge of town - when there was nothing but sagebrush beyond. Neat collection of memorabilia has accumulated here & now hangs on the walls. A fun, friendly place overall with standard diner fare at reasonable prices. Popular with locals. About the only place in town I can still get properly prepared grits.

Update, "I didn't Know That!!"

By Jon B |

If your a fan of corn beef hash and eggs you're going to love this one, when ordering recently I asked "is the menu item from a can" my waitress stated that the menu item is, however, we also have an in house cooked corn beef hash that we can serve you too" now you too know the secret, it a little more but well worth the difference, tell them you heard it from jonboy!!

Old school since 1969

By Creeping_Death_LA |

These mom and pop places shine all the way through. We came here to have a good breakfast and this restaurant delivered. I ordered my favorite Vegas breakfast dish which is Steak & Eggs, hash browns, and sourdough toast. The friendly waitress offered us a Cinnamon Roll to start before we received our food, we said YES! After we devoured the roll we received our food. My dish was perfect just the way I like it and my girls loved their food also, they both are picky eaters. The owner came by our table to make sure everything was okay, we happily said yes. If you are in the mood for breakfast skip nasty Denny's or ihop and instead try a mom and pop place like this one, you won't be disappointed.

Best Diner ever

By Lisa T |

I cannot say enough about this place the owners and staff were so welcoming! The food was fantastic and the homemade jams were out Of this world! If your in Vegas you have to go here!

Short zigzag drive from strip

By Ardis F |

Y’all this was an excellent choice. We love diners when we travel and this fit the criteria . They served us crackers and 4 samples of homemade jelly. All good. We all three had breakfast foods and none of it was bad. The waitress was quick and engaging . The decor is typical mom and pop. This place was a win

Charming Staff, Great food

By Sondra C |

The owner of the restaurant greeted us at the door, cleaned off our table (last one available) and when we were getting ready to leave, he asked us how everything was. The breakfast for our party of 4 women included the special, a turkey, swiss omelet, sourdough toast and homemade jelly. We also had the freshly made cinnamon bun - awesome! The server was very friendly and kept our water glasses and coffee filled.

Great for Breakfast and Lunch

By retireddl |

Quite the find. Great little Mom and Pop diner. Very clean; excellent service and staff. Great menu. And me being a breakfast, they have a great selection all day. I had the skillet. Delicious. My wife had the Ruben, and she found it very delicious. Prices are reasonable. Special thanks to Motgan, our waitress. Give them a try

Great Breakfast

You walk in and you feel at home. Great food, fun atmosphere, good service and good prices. This place has it all. Highly recommend. Make your way here if you are in town.

Classic diner with homemade jam

By Lin0515 |

We had an excellent breakfast here. The highlight was a dish of homemade jam to accompany our toast. Our server was very friendly, and the decor is just adorable. (The regulars have their own coffee mugs.) If you like diner food and ambience, this is well worth a stop.

Excellent

By Tim H |

Was promptly greeted in this seat yourself operation and friendly. Good selection with prompt service and well taken care of. Good job all around. Lot's of eclectic memorabilia on the walls.

Good old time Las Vegas feel

By Brummerle |

That place is ancient and if you like this old Las Vegas feel combined with a delicious breakfast that place if for you.

Great food and Service

By Rod H |

When we arrived there was a line of people waiting to get in. The owner was at the door taking names and staff inside were turning tables. We waited maybe 15 minutes. We have busted Las Vegas numerous times but we did not know if this restaurant that has been around since 1969.

Vacation

By charlie |

Great service and really good food. Lou’s Diner has that true hometown feel — friendly, relaxed, and welcoming. The prices are excellent, and it’s comfortably away from the bustle of the Strip. I’ve been there a couple of times now and highly recommend it.”

Great Diner

This a great diner. Foods great. The place is cool. Great service. The menu has something for everyone. This place is what makes diners great

Great Local's Diner serving Breakfast and Lunch

By Gordon K |

Just drop in and sit down, order quickly and relax with the morning paper and a cup of coffee. I had the eggs over easy, sausage patties, sourdough toast, home fries all for less than 7 dollars.

Blast from the past!

By Chester D |

Me my wife and our granddaughter just had a great breakfast here at Lou ' s where the still bread their country fried steak by hand. Not frozen garbage that most restaurants are using these days. The restaurant is full of antique memorabilia and reminds you of funner days like In the 50 ' s and 60's. Food was amazing and I can truly say this is going to be the only place we go for breakfast or lunch. Great job to staff and owners for a great experience. See you soon !!!

Great cafe to visit and have breakfast!! Service is outstanding!

By akging6 |

Excellent service, tasty food and the price you pay for every order is worth it. We are so amazed of their service, so customer oriented. Rocky and the food dispatcher and servers are friendly and caring. The restaurant serves breakfast all day until 3pm their closing time. We were served with a sample of their yummy handmade-homemade jams with crackers, their so delicious but we loved the papaya jam the most. So, we decided to buy two jars for $10/jar to bring to alaska. We will definitely go back to this cafe when we visit Las Vegas. Thank you to the management and staff for their outstanding service.

Great atmosphere and good food

By Shirley H |

We really enjoyed the "old diner" type feel to this place as well as very friendly service. Food was home style cooking and good. The owner came over and asked us how we were enjoying our meal and told us a brief history of the diner. Lots of locals frequent this restaurant. Close to the Springs Preserve which is why we were in the area.

Fantastic Breakfast With Great Service

By KayLRuth |

Our first trip to Lou's for breakfast was fantastic. Everyone on the staff was personable and available to answer any questions we had about the menu. Our breakfast started with a selection of homemade jams that were simply amazing. We loved them so much we bought some to bring home with us. The menu was comprehensive and had something for everyone. Coffee was great, food was great, service was great. While in town we tried a few other places but nothing stood out as much as Lou's. Will definitely be back.

Get off the Strip-save some cash

By David S |

Vegas is expensive. There's no doubt about it. So when you get a chance to save a few bucks, do it. Lou's is a classic throwback hole in the wall, local diner. We went for breakfast. It was everything you could want and/or need. I had the skillet (pictured). It was great. ONE IMPORTANT NOTE: We used Waze to get us there. It didn't work. It sent us WAY south of the actual address.

Great Food & Waitstaff

By Tom L |

Hate to eat at hotels so found this rare gem on Tripadvisor. Very friendly waitstaff (Vanessa) who was helpful in making our choices. A great variety on the menu and the portions were large. In fact, we loved it so much the first time, we went back the next day. The decor was exceptional and Brian (owner) stopped at our table to recommend a local Italian restaurant for dinner. Nice to know where the locals eat.

Delicious Diner

By Katkem |

Have read many reviews and wanted lunch. I was in the area. It was a traditional DINER! I chose the counter, because there was a lot of people waiting. Menu is one side breakfast, one side lunch. I had the Monte Cristo because of past reviews. With CRISPY fries!! I Rarely dine alone, this was very easy. A small plate of crackers and homemade jams is served. SERVICE EXCEPTIONAL, food DELICIOUS. Next visit will be opened faced Hot Beef sandwich. Recommend Lou’s Diner!

Great Diner

By Karen_SB6344FF |

We always look for good diners when we visit the US.....we love the American Diner. We had a very nice breakfast with fast friendly service. Definitely would go back

Breakfast

By moookie |

I know its a bit off the Strip but definitely worth it. Looking for a family run diner? This is it! Nothing chain about it. I love to support local. Lous makes it easy. The food is delicious. The coffee is always fresh. Today we had SOS on toast and pigs in a blanket. Perfect! Please come and support!

Not Quite Lose for Lou's

By Nathan A |

Went in for breakfast, was promptly greeted and seated. Waitress was taking our order in less than a minute. There were seven other tables of customers. Coffee was of good taste but not quite as strong as I like. (Nobody makes coffee as strong as I like.) Wife ordered chicken fried steak. Was a little undercooked and had to be sent back even though she said the taste was awesome. Her reorder only took a few minutes. Comlpetely satisfied! I ordered the 1/2 combo stacked (Biscuit & gravy, egg, hashbrowns.) Mine tasted great but food was not hot. I usually try a place three times before writing a review but am giving this four stars. The place was clean and filled up before we left so thinking today was just a fluke. Will definitely come back.

My new favorite breakfast place in Vegas

By Donald S |

Four of us were looking for breakfast. The regular joints were busy, so I remembered Lou’s dinner, even though we never ate there. What a great restaurant! A host taking names outside, and continuously giving you an update. Then the wait staff was phenomenal. Always looking after your every need. The food: wow! Two of us had the eggs, meat, toast and home fries (which were some of the best I ever had), another had the everything omelette, and the last, the haystack. They bring you small containers of homemade jelly (cherry, raspberry, strawberry and pineapple). What a great experience this breakfast was.

A Gem of Diner with great food and service

By BiddlyBong |

We happened upon Lou's Diner whilst shopping along Decatur. From the outside, the Diner looks nothing special, maybe a little kitsch with an interesting window display. That's about the worst thing I can say about the diner as inside you are transformed into a welcoming nostalgic ambiance. A range of specials were presented, I had the Cheese Sloppy Joe, which I must say was excellent and the fries (chips for us in the UK as they should really be called) were freshly cooked and were perfectly seasoned, and I'm told that the Reuben Sandwich is also of excellent quality. The diner had changed hands and Lou was no longer the owner, but had handed it over to the new management with her excellent training. We happened in on Lou's birthday and she was in for Lunch and was presented with a special cake and a chorus of Happy Birthday. A great atmosphere and a great place for breakfast/brunch/lunch at a great price.

A real diner

By Barbara T |

I recently read an article in the local paper about this little restaurant. It has been in business for a great number of years and my friend and I decided to check it out. They have counter service, booths and tables. The food was good, reasonably priced and the wait staff very friendly. I am just tired of the casino buffets and wanted to try something new. I was not disappointed and would certainly go back again.

Very good

By MissyAce |

A locals diner , very reasonable prices and the food was great while in Las Vegas my daughter and I went to Lou's diner and we were very glad we did. Some of the best eating we had while there. We even brought home some of their homemade jam

Awesome Food

By Douglas Y |

This Diner is the best I have ever been to. The food was absolutely delicious. The prices are great and so are the people. So if you are looking for awesome food at great prices this is the place to visit. I can't wait to go back.

Lou’s has potential...

By Desert-Reiver |

Lou’s has potential... This crowded café is apparently very popular with regulars. It was full when we arrived at noon. Our experience however was insufficient for a return visit. Our 1st coffee was tepid and disagreeable. The refill coffee was much improved. We ordered the “Curtis’ Haystack.” The components varied from tepid to cold. The menu selection seemed otherwise well prepared; ‘twas just served tepid-to-cold. We would not discourage others to give Lou’s Diner a try. We would recommend that others be more prepared than we were to assert themselves as to the food temperature. Lou’s has potential.

Great breakfast

By Kathleen B |

We visited Lou's Diner for the first time and were very pleased. The service was top notch and the food was perfect. Our coffee cups were never empty. Lou's is a great place for locals or tourists.

Great diner!

By sharrongeg |

Old school diner and I loved it! Tried the Monte Cristo sandwich ($16.88) and devoured every bite. Fries were OK, but not exciting -but whoa, that sandwich was great. Old school friendly service too. Sign behind the bar says Cash is King, and discourages paying with a credit card. Place was packed at 11 am on a Thursday.

What you want in a diner breakfast

By D-Nicer |

Great place to get breakfast off the strip. Read good reviews and they were correct. We were both happy with our choice. Meals are large and delicious. Try the Country Combo! All food was flavorful and filling. Staff was kind, friendly and helpful. They make you feel so welcome.

Food and friendly

By Don B. |

Had breakfast at Lou's and if was worth it. Food was hot, fresh, tasty, homemade, and the staff was very friendly. The jam is all homemade, buy a jar. Very affordable.

Would have rated 6 stars if possible

By Hass |

Would have rated 6 stars if I could. If your looking for a nice meal, then this is the place, even for vegans.

Best Breakfast in Vegas

By D-Butel |

Real food, real service and a great place for a hearty breakfast. This place is filled with locals, and the service is just as it once was 50 years ago. The coffee is good, and the food is great. I have only enjoyed breakfast at Lou's, but I keep going back. Oh and try the homemade jam, it is to die for.

Best Breakfast

By Madonna A |

We love Lou's Diner! The food is awesome!the owners Brian & Julie are the sweetest couple. They greet all guests at the door. Our favorite Waitress Patty makes the best Cinnamon rolls & homemade chicken noodle from scratch, right down to the noodles. She's in there early every morning !!! When we say let's go for breakfast the truck just takes us to Lou's!!!

GREAT ATMOSPHERE NICE PEOPLE

By john m |

As a resident of Las Vegas for 18 years I had driven by Lou's Diner THOUSANDS of times. Today was the day to try somewhere new. The service is wonderful , attentive and FRIENDLY! We had the fried chicken which was excellent and the biscuits and gravy ...all excellent portions and very very tasty. Lou's Diner will now be a part of my preferred spots in town!!!

Go here!!!!

By Tonia T |

If you are tired of the over priced tourist food and just want a great breakfast, this is it. The food is very good, service is outstanding (the owners work here and are very friendly), and the prices are very reasonable. No wonder this is a popular spot for the locals! I had the taco omelet which was outstanding. My wife had eggs over medium with sourdough toast and she raved about it. If that’s not enough, they home make their own jellies! And we got out for under $20.00! Decor is so cute and homey. Lots of Las Vegas memorabilia on the walls.

Somwhat hard to find but worth looking for!

By Jon B |

Here's a dinner that's been going strong for many years, I first ate there 20+ years ago, it's hard to see now since they built a Walgreen store in front of it at Alta & Decatur, I was having my car serviced nearby and knew it would be 5 hours till done so I thought I'd walk over to Lou's, I'm glad I did, the wait staff was friendly and the Pork Chop and Egg breakfast was great! I promised the waitress' I would be back soon and bring my wife, as an added treat locals can bring in their favorite coffee mug and Lou's will hang on the wall for them, clever idea, very homey

Nice quaint breakfast

By Adam F |

My wife and I have been coming here for a few years now. The food is always good, and the service is good too. The atmosphere is nice.

Great local meals.

By Ken L |

Get off the strip for a great home cooked breakfast. Sit at the bar and enjoy local conversations. Good diner coffee. This is truly Americana at its best. Came on Wednesday morning and had to wait. That says a lot in the middle of the week!

Great hole in the wall diner with extra friendly service

By moxie88 |

There are three things, ok four things, that stood out as being absolutely amazing with this unassuming diner nestled in a small strip mall. First the service was extremely friendly and helpful, from the first introductions by a gentleman who I later became to believe is the owner to our waitress decked out in a Harley Davidson shirt. The staff is absolutely top notch. Second, the coffee is tremendous. Clearly a diner blend (it’s not a pretentious over roasted northwest bean) with nice smooth flavor, brewed at the right strength and served hot. Third, the homemade corn beef hash is tremendous. The menu lists a hash which I learned was made by others but our waitress quickly said they also make a homemade hash that’s not on the menu. I wasn’t sure but she insisted and I am so glad I listened. The hash was made with sort of a chopped cold-cut type corn beef with sautéed onions and peppers with firm but fully boiled potatoes. This jumbled assortment formed an absolutely delicious corn beef hash. The fourth and final standout item was the homemade jam that accompanied the toast. I opted for raspberry (there were four you could choose from) and it was amazing. Fresh tasting, not super sweet, just like my mom always made. This is a highly recommended breakfast option in Las Vegas.

Wh Fresh, wholesome diner food from the '50's with friendly service to match.

By Arthur T |

The breakfasts we ate all had exceptional home fries, the kind with onions, eggs perfectly cooked, and very good coffee. We are going back again today. From the outside, the diner looks more like a dollar store in the mall than a diner, but the food is authentic and delicious.

Just as good as others say!

By Carleen1952 |

Stopped here on our way through Las Vegas Didn't want to get caught up in the Casino areas and wanted to find an area that was safe It was great food, great service, and awesome environment

Best breakfast in town!

By Cassandra A |

Great food, excellent service- everyone goes out of their way with kindness. It isn’t a chain restaurant and lots of locals were there, so you know it’s good! Great prices and the portions were just right. I can’t say enough about this place. We loved it!

AWESOME! Go To This Place!

By Chrispmoto |

Read some reviews, thought I would try this on the way to Meadows Mall. Its VERY close. The owner was there. He was incredibly kind, & I can see why this place is so popular with the locals. The food was amazing, & the prices were night & day cheaper than anything on the strip. The whole staff was incredibly nice, again, we had that "local" type feeling. I would go back here 100% the next time I go to Vegas & you should try it too !

Breakfast

By SMA1126 |

We were in Las Vegas for the weekend and found this place online. We had to wait for about 10 minutes, but they have a covered area with chairs and heaters to sit in. Once we were seated, our server came to our table immediately to take our drink order. Something interesting is that they bring out homemade jam with crackers. I had not heard of this before. We ordered a waffle with sausage and eggs and pancakes with bacon, eggs & hashbrowns. It was all very good. The service was excellent. We were checked on several times by several different servers. We definitely recommend Lou's for breakfast!

Average Food experience

By fredbblock |

We waited for 15 minutes for a table, seated outside with a fan pointed at us. My Reuben was so-so, while my wife's waffles, eggs, and bacon were good.. The homemade jams and crackers were tasty. The service was excellent, while the coffee was weak. The cup of clam chowder was tasty. The atmosphere made us feel welcome, with lots of other folks, including children. The bill came to $43.00. We will not go back. I was amazed that since 1969, this restaurant has had such a loyal following. For foodies, this place would not be re-visited.

A great place off the strip

By Margaret M |

My husband and I were so pleased with this local diner. After the prices on the strip this was a treat. Lou's Diner was quite busy on a Tuesday morning, always a good sign, but we were able to be seated right away. Every one of the wait staff we interacted with was wonderful. From the young man who greeted us, to the waitress who told my husband of the secret menu that had true home made corned beef hash, to the waitress who couldn't believe our upstate NY average snowfall was over 100 inches. My husband really like the corned beef hash, though he did wish the potatoes were a bit smaller. They give you samples of their four home made jams and he was able to get more of the mixed berry, which he loved. I ordered the Belgium waffle with pecans and crispy bacon. Yumm. They gave me plenty of warm maple syrup and the bacon was crisp and still chewy, not crumbly. We understand why Lou's Diner was so full.

Friendly & clean

By Vicki4664 |

We visited Lou's Diner because we read about it in the paper. Otherwise, we wouldn't even have known it existed. It was immaculate and homey. The owner, Brian, was very friendly and came over and talked with us. I think a lot of local people come here, as they bring their own coffee cups and leave them for their return visits. The waitresses were also very warm and friendly. The food was excellent and if we are in the area, we will definitely return. Good for breakfast & lunch....they close at 3pm.

A Hidden Breakfast Treasure

By geminilexus6 |

Yes, a hidden breakfast treasure off the beaten path. Hidden behind a chain drug store and a chain fast food outlet you will find Lou's. Unpretentious outside yet very homey and welcoming inside. Their food is excellent. They offer breakfast and lunch only. Try ANYTHING! ALL is home made including cakes pies and everything else. Breakfast is awesome, eggs any style, bacon, ham, sausage. Hotcakes, waffles. Homemade JAMS/PRESERVES - FRESH! WOW! It's the kind of diner I used to know when I was a kid. Great service with smiles and AFFORDABLE!

What can I say about a place like Lou's other then heaven on earth. From the moment u r greeted to seating everyone is sweet and homey! The food and the staff are AMAZING - do not let the slight line outside hinder your choice

Chicken Fried Steak TOO fired!

By TravelGypsy |

I ordered Chicken Fried Steak and Eggs. The Chicken Fried Steak was so well done it was DONE! I tried to eat a bite or two, from the not so well done but still well done area, and couldn't. If this was my diner, I would have been EMBARRASSED to serve such a horrible Chicken Fried Steak to a customer. But not one waitress who saw it, looked at it twice. I guess an extremely well done Chicken Fried Steak is how it is done there.

Amazing Eats!

By moviefan3 |

Love this Diner! Both of my children had no problem finding something to eat. It was just about finding which things they wanted at the moment. The food was just right. Waitstaff was very attentive. It didn’t feel like they were checking just to check because it was their job. I never had to ask for anything because they knew I needed it before I needed it. Didn’t take pictures of food because it was gone before I thought about it.

Good American diner

By Dorthe |

Typical American diner with good food. They even serve samples of homemade jam before you get your food. Friendly staff even though they were busy. Would go there again

Great American diner

By Dubww |

Our kiwi family had a great brekkie at Lou’s & it was a nice reprieve from the ‘strip’ commercialized restaurants. Great hot cakes, omelets & the homemade jam was delish & a nice touch. Great friendly service too. Highly recommend!

Best diner ever

By Paul |

Amazing food , I went two days in a row , the taxi driver he took me from the strip thought I was bonkers . But the homemade jams fresh food and patty the waitress make this dinner the best I’ve ever been.

Back again

Really nice atmosphere, friendly, comfortable, good food, here last year, came back again as such a friendly place, plus a nice change from the strip.

Very good eggs benedict

By George B |

Lou's Diner in Las Vegas has a variety of breakfast offerings. My review is only of the Benedicts, nothing else. The staff was polite. Patty was my waitress . She handled my needs well. I want to let you know that have a "top ten" list for Benedicts. After my visit I was able to rate these "Bennys" in my top 10. #1 being the best and #10 not as good. I found Lou's Diner Las Vegas good enough to be #5 in my top 10 while holding on to the 5 star review. My rating is based on 3 weights : 70% = taste 20% = presentation 10% = price #1 - taste: They use Canadian bacon . I asked for easy poached eggs and was presented with the same. The Hollandaise sauce was made from scratch and had a very distinctive flavor and taste but not just a plain yellow sauce. The reason I review Eggs Benedict is because of the difference in the flavor of the Hollandaise sauce. Their hash browns were shredded and golden brown on the tops. All of this kept the review to 5 stars. #2 -presentation : The presentation wasn't perfect so not getting the full 70% value. #3-price: $11.99 is right in line with Bennys with hash browns. Coffee for $2.75 a cup is the old normal. I was happy to move these Bennys into my 5th place in my top ten list .

Sooo good. Great family atmosphere

A little gem in a town of fake diamonds. They greet you at the door, and make you feel right at home the whole time your there. Great food, hearty portions. And the homemade jams!

Great food and awesome service

By johntran999 |

This place is a little ways from the Strip but worth the drive. Do you really want to pay $15.00+ for a half-cooked omelette? Anyway, you know that you are in a local spot when 9 out of 10 patrons are locals. Walking in, we were greeted warmly by a waitress. Not the "thank you for coming to our establishment" kind of greeting but more like "Hi hon! Just grab a seat and we'll get right with you!" with a big smile. The greetings from the other patrons were not so nice. It was more like "Oh crap! more of these damn tourists!" Our food was amazing. I know you really can't screw up breakfast foods but their food was fresh and tasty. The biscuit and gravy was excellent. The corn beef hash was delicious. They also offered a variety of items on their lunch menu, including fresh baked pies. The reason why we really loved the place was that the owner, Brian, stopped by to talk to us. Not just your usual "how's everything?" greeting but he actually stopped and I mean talked to us for a while. I even told us about his family and how they like to spend their vacations. Right is the middle of a busy morning. That's really cool and meant a lot to us. Every restaurant should be like this! It was so good we came back the next day.

Like going home again .... Absolutely the best authentic '50s fare!

By N A S |

Lou's is mom's (or grandma's) kitchen all over again. Delicious staple American breakfast and lunch cooked to order and served by friendly courteous waitresses. Makes you smile to think about it. :). The most varied and loyal clientele in the city ... From taxi drivers to high-end attorneys ... Everyone loves Lou's and her very special dining establishment. I visit every time I travel to Las Vegas, sometimes two or three times. It's all good, but ask for the giant watermelon slice in season ... A perfect accompaniment to bacon and eggs, or the yummy "pan-San.". Voted "best in Vegas" at least once, probably more often. If I could only chose one restaurant in which to dine in Las Vegas, it would be Lou's (and I have spent upwards of $300 for one meal in that town). Vacationers should not miss this spot of local color.

AWESOME!!! This is a Great restaurant. Don't miss it. Homemade jams. Super fresh food. Really friendly people and you feel like you are at a friends home.

Excellent Food and Friendly Staff

By realst8ace |

We came here for lunch after visiting the nearby botanical gardens. It is apparently a very popular local eatery. In fact, the regulars get to hang their personal coffee mugs on the back wall. There were 5 of us. Everyone ordered something different and then we each got a dessert and shared. I had a hamburger and fries which was very basic. The desserts were wonderful and reasonably priced.

Not Just for Locals!!

By AdvisorOntario |

I was here sometime ago and now I am back in Vegas it requires that I stop at Lou's. An amazing history for this 50's type diner and competing for your meal dollar with fast food chains all around you proves that people will still go where there is friendly service, good food at fair prices. Today was no exception. Now get this, home made chicken pot pie with salad and fruit cup for $7.50. AND the food was GOOD and the waitress was friendly. Sure, I would bet that the other 20 odd people that were there were all regulars and the fact that each of the two waitresses knew their names and didn't both to ask what they wanted for their drink just speaks to the loyalty that this restaurant deserves. I make it a point to return here on each of my trips, maybe for the memories but also the good food. Take a ten minute drive off the strip and see how the locals eat!

Lunch with a friend

The service is great , the plates are large, and the pricing is fair. The decorations on the walls will keep you busy checking everything out . The dinner is clean and kept up.

A Must Visit

By Russ S |

A Vegas classic breakfast diner. It has been here since 69 and groing up I never knee it was here. Great food and large portions. The preserves are homemade and the menu choices plenty. A must visit for out of town or locals

A taste of an American breakfast

By Jade S |

We googled corn beef hash as my aunt really wanted this for breakfast. We found this restaurant called Lou’s so We drove 15 minutes from the strip. If you want a proper American setting then Lou’s is the place, they have a counter at the front like they do in the films and the place was very popular. The food was yummy and the price is great Really lovely experience and blended in with the American way

a great place to eat

By ron g |

went there when I was in vegas because of the reviews....did not disappoint....friendly staff, very clean, service was tops,,food outstanding....fairly priced and good portion sizes.......bottomless coffee....all in all the best breakfast ive had in a very long time.....owner was obviously involved in the daily operations...noticed him walking around, greeting the regulars and stopped at our table to introduce himself etc...real old time service...very impressed..looking forward to my next visit

Brunch at Lou's

By Jay E |

When we arrived at Lou's we were not prepared for how popular this little Breakfast diner was. My brother told me about it. We only had to wait 15 minutes for a table. The owner was there making sure everyone was taken care of. The staff follows his lead. The food was more than plentiful and delicious. The atmosphere is warm and so enjoyable. Our time spent there was some enjoyable with my brother. We will be coming back here for breakfast again and again.

Americana at it's best

By Kyle's Vacations Travel Club |

I dined with a friend and realized that this place was made in 1971. I want here in my younger years. Today I had a Half Sandwich cold Roast Beef and A Garden Salad. The portion was large and satisfying. The meal was a down home Americana meal. Total comfort food. You will love the decorations too. Brings back the good old days.

True Diner!

Very typical American diner with great food and excellent service! Seating was quick and the breakfast great. Coffee was smooth and fresh. Home-made jams were complimentary. Great value for money.

We go to Lou's once a week. The place is great! Very comfortable, real great breakfast, and lunch..easy to enter, my wife uses a wheelchair and never has any trouble getting in easily. All the staff is very friendly and very efficient. Very cute decor, you can spend the entire time just looking at the memorabilia.....definitely a great Diner......

Old-Style Diner--Great for Breakfast!

By WarrenFretwell |

I gave Lou's Diner an "average" rating because there isn't a rating between "average" and "very good." This is a solid, good, ole' diner that is off The Strip--a place where locals hang out. We were staying at Bally's and wanted something besides the buffet and found Lou's with a Google search. It took us about 20-25 minutes to drive there, although it would have taken us less time if we actually knew where we were going. Lou's is the kind of place you find in many American cities: not much on the decor; maybe even a little run down. The wait staff seemed like they had been there for a while and offered efficient and prompt service. I cannot eat dairy and our waitress made sure she told the cook to prepare my breakfast without any butter. I know because I could hear her instructions at our table! The food tasted the way it was supposed to, was non-greasy and satisfying. You won't find anything fancy at Lou's, but, if you want a local, hometown experience with good prices, this is a place you want to check out.

Just a Mom and Pop Restaurant

By JennyandJoeS |

Have gone there twice in the past week and had outstanding meals each time. This really is a local's place, located off the Strip at 43l S. Decatur. Lots of old timey memorabilia on the walls and all over the place. First time we had SOS on toast. Large servings. Second time we took another couple with us for breakfast. Extensive menu. You can have breakfast for well under $20. Servers are friendly and really hustle and make sure your coffee cups are filled. They also have delicious looking homemade pies and cakes. We only live about a mile away, and I can't wait to go back again.

Home Cooking and Personal Service - did I mention reasonable prices?

By Creekinwa |

This diner serves breakfast all day, but also has an extensive lunch menu. My 4 friends and I saw the reviews and decided to try it. The mother-daughter team, Eva and Eva, seated us and treated us like family. Younger Eva introduced herself and let us know she would be cooking our meal. All the food, breakfast, hot dish with potatoes and gravy, salad and fish, was done perfectly. It was a delightful meal in a charming homey atmosphere. Thank you!

What more can you ask for

Cheap prices, great service, and even better breakfast. Server was wonderful with the senior citizen in our group. A true blue collar American diner that I would absolutely recommend.

Old School Grub In Sin City

By Artie B |

Lou's Diner has been serving Las Vegans for years...They started up in 1972...It is open for breakfast and lunch only...Usually quite busy but they have a really good staff of three or more waitresses working to keep the food coming...It is standard diner fare...Good sized breakfast menu and lots of old standbys for lunch...Meatloaf, Hot beef and turkey sandwiches, burgers, salads and on and on...I found the prices a bit steep but my significant other said they were OK for the value of the food that came on our plates...I went with a hot turkey sandwich...For me it was a bit bland and I even added some salt (something I NEVER do) to add more flavor...Brown gravy was a bit tepid...Now my lady had the senior lunch special of a half sandwich and fries...All this was under six bucks...And she got a huge plateful of fries along with the half turkey sandwich...She said the turkey was moist and fresh and she was extra pleased with the plate...We ended up chatting with an ex-Brit who moved to the US in '51 and is now 85...Discovered he is a regular to Lou's Diner...They do a large senior business and they do have senior lunch and breakfast specials on the menu...It is hidden off Decatur and now stands behind a Taco Bell that they recently built on the corner of the street...Oh, didn't get the milk shake...It was $4.25 and they DON"T give you any extra shake in the metal cup (I asked)...My lady wants to return so no doubt I will give Lou's Diner another try...I say you should stop in and see what you think...Good eating all!

One of the best breakfasts in Las Vegas

By Dr Y |

First, someone was outside (owner?) greeting folks as they arrived. Wow - that’s customer service! Friendly, talkative, and very customer oriented. We didn’t wait long for the food, we ordered a variety of items and everything was excellent. Definitely recommend!

We loved eating at Lou's Dinner each morning. The owner, Brian, is very nice too! We got fantastic service and good food! Their female chef cooks the best! Great atmosphere, yummy food and great service! Also a great value! Can't beat it!

Great spot

By ListenToMe2 |

We decided to come to Lous because we wanted to get off of the strip for a while. Coming to this place was a great choice. The french toast is great, the bacon is awesome and the eggs are very good. I didnt care much for the hash browns, but they werent bad. The service is great. It was our waitress first day taking orders and she was fabulous. You could tell she was happy to do her job and that made me feel happy. I think her name was shannon. If i were a local to begad this would be one of my go to spots!

All we imagined, and more................

By R L |

We chose Lou's Diner from breakfast after reading other reviews on Tripadvisor, while making plans for our visit to Las Vegas week of August 11-16, 2019. So glad we did. Our flight arrived early morning on Sunday, August 11, and we had plenty of time to kill before being able to check into our hotel. After going through the rig-a-ma-roe of getting our rental car, mosied on over the Lou's Diner, arriving around 10:00. Parking was easy and close. No line to get in (in Ohio, Sunday's for breakfast can be an adventure if timing of church dismissal is not known). We were greeted by our hostess, LaToya, who sensed we were first time visitors, and she gave us the run-down, and made us feel absolutely welcome. Very diverse crowd, most tables occupied, I'd say perhaps 50-60 customers throughout our visit. Service was quick and thorough, with Patty being exceptional hostess, and oh, so, friendly. Order taken, and we were eating a fantastic breakfast in roughly ten minutes. During our short wait for our meals, the owner (with his wife), Brian, stopped by our table, and brought samples of his homemade jams. Four small cups, with crackers. Flavors included cherry, mango, strawberry and blackberry. All were extremely tasty, and available for purchase in mason jars. I could have ordered the cherry, with a spoon, tall glass of milk, and ate the entire jar right there. Due to traveling, we were unable to purchase any, but, highly recommend to anyone who can, to do so. Each our breakfasts' were cooked to perfection, most notably the bacon, that was perfect in every aspect. All in all, give Lou's six stars, out of five. It's just a Mayberry RFD type of place, that you automatically feel comfortable at. We look forward to this being a "go to" stop on each visit to Vegas, and look forward to that time.

Lou’s Diner – absolutely recommended!

Excellent off stripe option

By Margarita |

This location found after experimenting with other eateries. Initially we visited for breakfast around 7:30am. My group ordered eggs, hashbrowns, oatmeal, multi-grain hot cakes.Everything was prepared perfectly down to the egg white omelette! Beverages include coffee, orange juice, grapefruit juice. Staff was very personal and pleasant upon entering. Many seniors visit this establishment based on their easement with staff on first name bases. We enjoyed the soft rock tunes over the mike while eating breakfast. The location was not very far from the resort we stayed and easy accessible. We are buffet goers so this place will be our go-to! In service for over fifty years and opened for breakfast and lunch only. Closes at 3:00pm make it for either servicing and you would not be disappointed. Love this establishment, check out the menu!

Good food, good welcome, THE best breakfast in Vegas!

By Ptholt |

I had seen Lou's on a couple of sites, and despite it being a 4 mile drive (approx) from the Luxor where we were staying, we decided to pop in here for break fast. First thing we noticed is that this place is popular, certainly with locals (not a bad thing at all!), The welcome we received (as brit tourists) was great, we were treated to some VERY tasty home made jams with our coffee whilst waiting for our breakfast - they were so good we bought some jars to take home. Breakfast arrived and it was delicious, it was 70% cheaper than the awful luxor buffet breakfast, and 50% cheaper than dennys on the strip, yet the portions were larger, the food better (several home made), the front of house staff were very friendly, attentive often asking if we were happy, needed more coffee, frankly it was one of the best breakfast experiences I have ever had in the USA, it was so good we returned the next day! We were sorely tempted to return on our last day, just goes to show you can get better food a nicer welcome, better portions and for much less money once you get off the strip.

Good comfort food.

Great Breakfast , fresh made , not frozen

By TipsFromABellman |

I read some good reviews on this place in another forum and decided to give it a try . I was not disappointed ! My son and I really liked the Chicken Fried Steak . You could tell it was handmade with cube steak and not a frozen patty . The cinnamon roll was also homemade with good icing , not too sweat like cinnabon . They also have preserves that are made by the owner , and the raspberry is out of this world . I bought a small mason jar to take home . The biscuits were fluffy , grits cooked just right , and eggs cooked perfectly could have used another one . We will be coming back and looking forward to trying other things . You have to be careful driving here because you will easily pass it as I did , and had to drive back around the block . I recommend you come and the server was very nice . I like the decor also .

Great place for Breakfast

Perfectly Quaint off the strip diner!

By mmtillis |

Hubby and I looked online for a small off the strip place to grab breakfast. I found Lou's Diner and looked at the reviews and decided to try it out. LOVE IT, this is a great small off the strip location that has great food and awesome customer service. The owner/manager is attentive and walked around to each table to ask if everything is ok. Loved that one on one customer care, we'll definitely be returning during our next Vegas trip!

Excellent restaurant!

By Beth C |

My husband and I visited Lou’s for lunch. The owner ( Brian) greeted us at the door and our table was available very quickly. Brian was kind and courteous and made us feel right at home. The restaurant has such a great, nostalgic feel of the quintessential diner! The waiter ( Rocky) greeted us within minutes and made his personal recommendations. The restaurant brings homemade jams and crackers for you to sample while waiting for your food to arrive. Such a great tradition! The food was served promptly and was very tasty. The portions are plentiful and the prices are excellent! The service was prompt and the overall atmosphere was excellent! Lou’s is located only 15 minutes from the strip with plentiful free parking and is well worth the short drive!

Wow! Homemade Jam!

By micaelajara |

Trying to get food before heading out. Of course I “yelped” this for a place. This was our first choice. It was packed when we arrived but we were great with a smile by a very nice gentleman (didn’t get a name). So many menu options but we finally made a decision. I had breakfast chicken fried steak fried egg whites (special order), hash browns, toast, and coffee. Wow! Too much food for me. I was offered a choice of homemade jam yum! Everything was delicious. So, why a 3? Our waitress, Nancy, well, she wasn’t very friendly. I could tell she was trying too hard to be nice to us. As I watched her interact with the other customers I could see the difference. When we got ready to leave or course I asked for s box and I asked if we could get some of that homemade jam to go (I had a lot of toast left) she said, “no. I can’t give you any to take” and walked away. Really! So, we asked again. Same response. If Nancy would have been nicer I would have given a higher rating, as the food was delicious.

Fab and friendly

Lovely real diner, went for breakfast on our last day, really friendly, will return for lunch next year.

Must visit.!

By Judy P |

Best breakfast ever in Vegas. Hometown feeling, friendly staff waiters and waitresses. Very welcoming and present owner Brian assures a great visit. Portions are huge and homemade jams are delicious. They also have great homemade desserts made by owners wife. And occasionally you will meet owners adorable 8 year old son Matthew checking to see if every think is okay or refilling your drink. Forget the chain restaurants and visit Lou’s Diner.

Real food, friendly service, fun place

By DarlaOz |

Tired of all of the glitz on the strip we just wanted a nice home cooked breakfast. Lou's fit the bill. Pancakes were very good. Lots of old timey contraptions on the walls. Fun to figure out what they used to do. Service was very friendly and quick. Place is clean and not hard to find. Worth the trip if you are north of town. A good value.

Little Gem in the desert

By BigRobUTSA |

Close to Downtown, this hole in the wall is worth the drive/uber/cab. Very diverse menu, we went for breakfast and the prices were very reasonable considering portion sizes. It was worth the drive, we drove from the Flamingo on the strip and it was the 2nd best decision of the weekend. If you are anywhere in Vegas, this is worth the drive.

Fantastic Breakfast

By Theresa_Atlanta |

We were staying on the Vegas strip and I wanted breakfast at a local place instead anything at the Bellagio. I GOT SO LUCKY to find Lou’s Diner. The friendly and attentive service made me feel right at home, and tasted better than any breakfast I have eaten in the suburbs of Atlanta. The food was so delicious and cooked perfectly. I had the special for the day: scrambled eggs, kielbasa sausage, hash browns and sour dough toast. It was served with three different homemade jams. My favorite was the strawberry. It reminded me of strawberry jam my mom used to make. The hash browns were fried to perfection. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Outstanding local Diner with Personal & Friendly Service

First visit to Las Vegas and we were exhausted/overstimulated from traveling/the strip. . .We found Lou's Diner and it literally turned around our vacation. . .Brian <<who we later found out to be the owner>> promptly greeted us and put our name on the waitlist before we could even see inside. . .We felt the energy pouring out every time the door opened and couldn't wait to see what was happening inside. . .literally blown away by the friendly vibes the minute we sat down. . .The teamwork was amazing. . .the regulars all had something to say to Brian about what was new. . .the crackers and jelly were an amazing little touch . . .just a real good energy. . .Long live the Local Diner with people who are having fun working there!!!!. . .My only complaint is that Brian spells his name with an I instead of a Y :). . . .I help manage a small bar/diner in Madison, WI and will strive to get the atmosphere you all have created in our place as well. . .thank you so much! ~Bryan Vito Madison, WI

Off the tourist path, but worth it

By Noelle F |

Not what we get in New York diners (there wasn't a single Greek item on the menu) but the food was excellent and service quick and efficient. Do make sure to check out the secret menu via the QR code, which doubles your options. My sister particularly votes for the pie. I had a cheese steak, which was absolutely worth the fat grams, and the fries were some of the best I've ever had. Way, way off the beaten track if you're doing touristy Strip things, but worth the trip.

Nothing special

By Barbara T |

This is the second time I have been to this Diner and probably the last. Atmosphere is nice but you can't eat the stuff on the walls. My lunch partner ordered egg salad but didn't eat a lot of the sandwich, to much salt and a very bland sandwich. I can't even remember what I ate. Guess it wasn't that good. I think the prices are a little high and charging almost $3.00 for a soda is a bit much. For what we had we could have gone to a buffet and had lots of choices.

Excellent Atmosphere

I found this place just by searching for another breakfast spot to hit on the weekends while i am here working. This is another gem. Old Fashion Diner, And real homefries!! Everything here is very good that i've had. I am not a jam person so i can't tell you how good it is, But everyone that get's it seems to like it. It's homemade in house. You can't go wrtong here. Tucked in the back beside a walgreens. Very popular with the locals. Good Food, Good Sevice, Fair cost. You can not go wrong eating here.

Real Food for Real People!

By Bernie S |

Came here on a FB recommendation and we're VERY glad we did! Great food, reasonable prices and great service, Rocky rocked it! I had the steak and eggs...homerun! Wife had homemade hash and eggs (from secret menu, QR code at table) and was not disappointed! Only suggestion...more spice on potatoes, but maybe that's me. Bought some jars of homemade jam which is awesome! Off the beaten path, real food for real people away from the glitz and glamour of the strip!

We are regulars!

By Dorrie B |

You will never go wrong having a meal at Lou's Diner. It's a go to comfort food type of throwback diner with excellent stick to your ribs food, and service too! Enjoy their home made jams, and great coffee. I usually have the same thing, but sometimes their daily specials are too tempting... It's always busy when I/we go...but worth it...we've never had to wait for a table or booth because they're always very fast and consistently excellent food.

Shocked by the waiter's actions

By quasimoto |

What I thought was my order but turned out to be another guests was given after I had begun eating the french fries. I told the waiter that I had eaten from the plate. My daughter also told our waitress what had happened. Both shrugged like it was no big deal. My daughter watched carefully to see where our plates came from when they were brought to our table after seeing what happened to the mistaken first plate. i. It's a health code violation. 2. With Covid-19 and Omnicron so prominent why would you think it was okay to remove a plate from one guest and promptly give it to another guest fully knowing what occurred. The food that our table had was good but after seeing what happened, not going to come back because I don't want to wonder who had my plate first.

Great Local Diner!

My husband and I LOVE finding local diners to eat at when on vacation. We have been to Vegas many times, but never ate at Lou’s. What a GEM!!! Will definitely make this part of our Vegas vacations in the future! Great food and great service!

Lou’s is a traditional diner, with great food, service, and a fun decor.

Lou’s food and service is top notch. I had the stuffed French toast with strawberries, they are delicious. The portions are really generous, too. They make several fresh jams in-house, available for purchase in refrigerated pint jars. Each table gets a sampler selection to try. We loved them all, and bought a pint of Raspberry jam to bring home with us.

Great cafe off the strip!

This place is awesome! We were looking for a place that was off the strip and a favorite place for locals. This is the place. The place is welcoming white lots of fun stuff on the walls. The staff is great and friendly. Service is excellent and the food is unbelievable. The better half had the 2 egg and bacon breakfast which came with an ample amount of hash browns. I had the burrito. It was really tasty and bigger than your head!. The green sauce really added flavor. We are planning on breakfast here tomorrow! You won’t be disappointed!

A taste of home

Walking into Lou's diner is like walking into a house filled with family. The walls are covered with everything from model cars to tea cups. They serve up traditional American diner food. The "Pan San" is the best. Brian , the owner, is friendly and pitches in to help. Just west of the strip about 5 miles, but worth the ride. If there is a wait, it's worth it!
