Lounge Here

By Mlarsen880 |

Not a well known or advertiser lounge, situated in a small strip mall, parking is fair, but easy to get to right on Garland Road. Very trendy and quite busy, we waited for 45 minutes for supper. It was rather late when we got there, and really crowded. Waited at the bar, drinks were good, and food was good. Waitress suggested we come on a weekend night and earlier in the evening. Nice place

This is a super cute place place with a super cool vibe. Difficult to find even when you know it is there - the outside of the building (which is on an old strip mall) is basically unmarked except for a small "here" sign. The decor is retro-airplane if that is a thing. Extremely knowledgeable bartenders, great cocktails and good food. Great place for a date or double date. Grab a drink at the bar before sitting down for dinner. Wish we didn't live so far away. This place would be a regular hangout. Quick tip: Try the La Vie En Rose cocktail.

can you find it?

I truly love just being in this restaurant/bar. The design is unique, super cool but still cozy and comfortable. Fantastic drinks and snacks. I havnt had a full dinner here as of yet but all the snacks have been great and can't wait to come back again for dinner. I have been twice and parking was a bit of a challenge but totally worth it! This neighborhood doesn't have the best choices but this was is amazing! Mindy

Bad Business Move

My best friend and I rarely get to see each other because we live in different cities, so this dinner was supposed to be special. She was excited to take me to her favorite restaurant in Dallas and made a reservation for Saturday, 1/31/26 at 6:30 PM for two people. We arrived exactly at 6:30 PM for our reservation, only to be told our table wasn’t ready. Fine—we’ve both worked in the service industry and understand things happen. We were happy to wait a few minutes for them to reset our table. But the table directly to our right had been seated before we arrived and was still there afterward, which becomes important later. We ordered drinks and an appetizer and took our time catching up. Around the 45 minute mark, we ordered dinner, which came out almost immediately. Our server was great—no issues there. The problem was the hostess. At 7:53 PM — and yes, I checked the time because I was genuinely stunned — the hostess approached our table and ONLY our table to say they were busy and were hoping to “flip the table soon.” At this point, we had already asked for the check and had a to go box visibly sitting on the table. Let me be clear: We had a 6:30 PM reservation, arrived on time, and were seated late. And by 7:53 PM, barely an hour and twenty minutes after arrival, we were being pressured to leave. Meanwhile, the table next to us — who had been there longer, had finished their meals, and were simply babysitting drinks — was not approached at all. Not a word. They were left completely alone. We were the only table singled out, and it was blatant. This behavior was unacceptable, unprofessional, and honestly embarrassing for an establishment my friend has supported for so long. I cannot comprehend why a hostess would think it’s appropriate to rush out a table with a reservation, especially when other tables who had overstayed us were untouched. Not only will I never return, but I sincerely hope my best friend reconsiders supporting a place she has frequented for so long, only to be treated this way. I’m truly appalled, and the overall experience left a very bad taste in my mouth.

Awesome space and atmosphere in an hidden spot.

This is a hidden gem tucked into a strip center. Inside is transporting to a very hip and laid back place, with really creative american food. We loved the chicken fried steaks and the appetizers. Cool menu, and hip clientele. It is a tiny place, and the bar at the back is extra tiny, so it can be a little hectic back there since food has to go right by it. Many of the people at the bar were a little entitled and consider themselves locals, so that was annoying, but once we got a table we we loved it. Never seen guys take bar seats in front of ladies who were waiting, but perhaps chivalry is dead in East Dallas. Note that we were there for probably 3 hours, 1 hour waiting and 2 for dinner, so it takes a while. But it was a busy night and our server handled it well.

Perfect for a date night or night with friends.

Love this place so much. It's a super cozy vibe and perfect for a date night or night with friends. Their plates are also amazing and super reasonable. Staff is nice as well.

Coolest Spot on the East Side

East Dallas has a few "Must Go" places, and Lounge Here is at the top of the list. Cool decor, great menu and chill vibe make it the perfect way to end the day!

Parking is a problem but other than that...

By czmdivenut |

Very limited parking and unless you know it is there just looks like a white storefront in a strip mall. No big neon sign or anything. Small place nicely decorated with a limited but decent menu. Burger is fantastic.

Excellent dinner!

Went twice and can’t wait to go back. Every dish I’ve eaten at “Here” has been remarkable. I especially enjoyed the Poke, Brussels sprouts, mussels and shrimp with grits.

Great Date Spot

A hidden gem you must know about. Atmosphere is wonderful. Feels like you are in a episode of Madmen or out in Marfa. Food is top notch as well.

Make it a four course meal

Stepped into a modern, hip, clean lounge. Started with the devil eggs, arugula salad, split the salmon & veggie burger with fries and ended with tea and key lime pie. Next time I'd skip the salmon, not cooked well or had much flavor, but that veggie burger! Those burgers are hard to achieve a delicious bite, but it was done well. Perhaps ask for a side of aloli, or ketchup with dash if suracha sauce.

Possibly the best key lime ever in a way cool retro 1950's setting

By Chip Northup |

The setting is remarkable in that it absolutely recreates the look and feel of a very upscale 1950's lounge. The wait staff suit the scene, and some, but not all of the food is superb. We had mojitos - excellent, pomme frites - mediocre, crab claws, so-so, and cauliflower, not bad. The chicken fried steak (?!) was really superb. And the key lime pie was - gracias a dios - not too sweet, in fact it was absolutely world class.

First Visit

This is difficult review to write because some things were great, some not so great. First of all this is a great watering hole, especially during happy hour. The bartenders are excellent at their craft and the cocktails are a real value. We will return at HH to have drinks. We had a Fried Chicken Confit app and it was good - a lot of tender meat with a sauce that was just ok. The Chicken Fried Steak entree was also ok and very large. I would have preferred it more crispy. If you are in the neighborhood it is well worth a try. Since it is located is a small strip mall parking is at a premium but they say you can park in the church parking lot across the street.

Excellent

Great atmosphere, great drinks and the food is pretty good! I will continue to look for my "fav" main dish but the sides are incredible. Salmon is excellent. Nice local, laid back place.

Fantastic experience and great atmosphere hidden from public view

Lounge Here is truly a hidden gem where the key word is hidden. It's located on a busy road with three lanes of traffic in each direction. The stores are a little run down with a mix of cool and sketch places. Lounge Here is a white-washed building with absolutely no markings of any kind. It looks like a closed and abandoned shop between a wig salon and a vinyl record emporium. Nearby is a closed gun store and tattoo parlor. I share all of this in the review because the exterior atmosphere is nothing like the interior. When you open the non-descript front door you have no idea if you are walking into a run-down pub or beautiful restaurant. It's the latter. The tiny space looks like a 1970's lounge with a current hip vibe. There are a dozen tables and booths filled on a first-come-first-served basis. Service here is probably better than the atmosphere. Everyone was pleasant, helpful and engaged. Once we let our server know about a lactose family member, not only did she remember every step of the way, but so did the kitchen. When the food was delivered they pointed out which was the dairy free. We loved the service. The food itself was the final straw to earn all five stars. It's wonderful. The Shrimp & Grits was my favorite dish. The shrimp had a smoky roasted flavor that blended nicely with the tasso gravy. The Here Burger had great flavors in the meat that paired with the smoked bacon and grilled onions. The Forest Mushroom Pasta was another great dish. My least favorite, but still good, was the Curry Chicken. Huge thumbs up to this place. The hidden "speak-easy" entrance, 70's hip lounge, wonderful staff and awesome food make this a place to visit time and again. Parking is a problem. There are no spots right in front. Our server told us they share parking with the church around the corner near Richardson Bikemart. We moved our car to that lot.

who knew...

If you didn't know it was there you might miss it. Tucked away in a strip center just off Garland Road is a truly one of a kind little gem. They don't take reservations so our trip for dinner with some friends was planned with waiting time...but when we arrived we were sat at the last open table in smallish dining room. The decor is just amazing. If you love mid century modern you will love the attention to detail. Our server was nicely dressed and it was pleasant not to see the wait staff in awful looking black & white something or other. The service was attentive but not intrusive - just right. The food was just simply terrific. Four of us shared the deviled eggs (best I've ever had in my life) and a charcuterie board which was pretty good (could have used a bit more bread). We had the Tuna Poke, Shrimp Grits, Burger and Grilled Honey Lemmon Chicken, Everything very good. The only ding on this place is that they do not have an espresso machine. Seriously...who doesn't have an espresso machine? Five stars when they add one.

Hit or Miss—but never a miss by much

Once upon a time (for a few months after it’s opening) we considered Lounge Here to be a destination for unique craft cocktails and imaginative, noteworthy cuisine. On our last visit, it was still better than just good—and it’s never been bad. We were a bit disappointed with the craft cocktails. On our most previous visit (in October or November 2021, I think) they were like a religious experience. The atmosphere is worth experiencing in and of itself. And the service has always been top notch. All Things considered, I would recommend that you check it out.

Interesting place

By Gary B |

First of all the parking is a little dicey. They only take reservations for groups of 6 or more, so if you are 2-4, plan on waiting. The Hostess was a very nice and we waited at the bar. Good drinks, the Bartender was interesting but I get tired of 14.00 designer cocktails. We spit the "Confit Chicken"...pretty good but too big for an appetizer. It's basically a chicken thigh poached in duck fat , breaded and deep fried. The sauce was good but the Cucumber salad was a little scarce. We then had the Crab/Goat Cheese Crostini, also very big for an app, but the flavors and bread were very nice. Since the apps were so filling we spit an order of the Mussels and they were very good. The Broccolini with Mornay sauce was disappointing. Although the broccolini was cooked well, the Mornay was a bit like Queso, not really a true Mornay. Our server was friendly and polite, waters filled regularly and food came out fast. All in all not too bad, but not a life changer.

Truly an amazing place! Don't be fooled by the nondescript entrance and location. Walking into this lounge is walking into a blast from the past. I felt like it was the 1970's and we were in some airport bar. Amazing vibe. The service is top notch and the food wonderful. Many different cocktail/drink options with above average bar food and entrees. Parking can be quite difficult though.
