Satisfying breakfast

By H R |

First time in Seattle. Strolling through Pike place market came across Lowell's. Decided to give it a try. The eggs Benedict with smoked salmon was yummy, eggs with oysters was different but was also very good. Service was good. We sat on 3rd floor with great view of the water.

Quite good with subtle flavors that really impressed me

By will |

Enjoyed it a lot. Got the chowder and it was really good despite what others are saying. It had a subtle something that made me just want more and the sour dough it was served in was delicious. Also got the grilled mixed seafood and it was also great if a little stingy. Plenty enough for one person though. Prices are pretty high but for the location that’s kind of expected. I was pleasantly surprised and it exceeded my expectations all around.

OK for tourists, otherwise...

By Barbara K |

My husband chose this as his birthday lunch spot, partly because he wanted to buy a handmade wallet at Marakesh Leather in the market. We hadn't been there in years, and it was fun on a quiet Tuesday, even with a grey view. We sat on the 2nd floor to get table service, which was spotty if pleasant. He ordered the seafood salad, which he really liked, along with a cup of chowder. I ordered the chowder in a bread bowl, which I've never had before. The chowder was OK, lots of potatoes and a little salty. I enjoyed a chunk of the sourdough bread bowl soaked in chowder (no, I did not eat the whole thing!). But the server brought all the dishes at the same time, rather than the cup of chowder first. So we waited awhile. Then we waited for the check, even though I asked for it before my husband was finished. Good for tourists to enjoy the view, probably won't go back again for years.

Wonderful restaurant in the Public Market

By Yankee33 |

We got to the market early to see the fish being tossed and we needed breakfast. There was a line to get in, but they moved us along quickly. I had the Farmer's Breakfast, with 3 eggs, bacon, ham, sausage, hash browns and toast. It was top notch. My wife ordered French toast with bacon and liked it very much. Coffee was very good. We were well- fortified to explore the market!

Food poisoning, no response from Lowell’s

By Edward N |

Ate lunch at Lowell’s, Monday Sept 23, around 12:15pm Cup of chowder, then seafood salad. All food seemed fresh, I enjoyed the food. My 26 year old son had a Reuben, also shared some of the chowder. 12 hours later, I fainted, violent vomiting with diarrhea, chills, lasting about 3 hours. I’m 70 years old, have traveled the world, so I have a good idea about “food poisoning.” I understand the difficulty in proving/discovering the source. I’m writing to you just so you can document the possible occurrence of food poisoning at your restaurant. Thank you for reading.

Famous Fish and chips ? Really

By Irene O |

Service was good and the view from the restaurant is lovely. Water was served immediately and the drinks were all fine . The food was however was expensive and not worth the money. The crab cakes lacked flavour and calamari was heavily processed and uniform. The steamed clams weren’t bad but expensive and the “famous fish and chips were not good. The fish was very dry and did not taste particularly fresh. Our server was lovely and helpful but alas the food let this place down.

Good lunch at Pike Place Market

By Patrick P |

Dropped by on a whim for lunch. 1st and 3rd floors are self seating after you order at counter then they bring food. We ate on the 2nd floor where bar is but at a booth overlooking the market. They also have tables with view of the sound! My son enjoyed Fish and Chips. I had blackened salmon. Both enjoyed a cup of chowder as a starter. Since 1957, feel the history. Good service

Delicious breakfast

By THAlbertson |

We had breakfast at Lowell’s while in Seattle prior to boarding a cruise. We decided to eat upstairs at the restaurant. After a brief wait we were seated and quickly placed our order. Everything we had was delicious especially the sourdough bread/toast. My husband had one of the specialty omelets with Italian sausage which he really enjoyed. Definitely would eat here again if ever back in Seattle.

Beautiful views

By Aaron H |

Lowell's had great views out on the Puget Sound. We put our name in at approximately 10:30am for lunch at noon and then walked around for a little bit, so plan for a wait since it was very busy on the weekend. The salmon on a bagel and fish and chips were fantastic!

Soooo expensive and the food was meh. Not kid friendly, and I mean like infant or strollers, pregnant women, unless you wanna sit on the kitchen level. A bowl of lettuce drenched in what tasted like bottled cesar, with a sad piece of salmon, $25 No children menu, but you can order a plain quesadilla and feies for like $10 A cup of chowder, not good overpriced. I'm sure sitting In the upper level, but that was out of the question. Interesting to try but I would neelver recommend this place as much as it was recommended to me. Pay first and get a seat kinda spot

Service and views are great. Food, not so much.

By michelec |

If I was basing this review on service alone, I would give 5 stars because the staff was so friendly and helpful. But the food was disappointing. The clam chowder was average, and the fish and chips were under seasoned with cold, soggy potatoes. Definitely not worth the $30 tab. When I was standing in line to be seated I noticed that the positive magazine and newspaper reviews they had posted at the entrance were from 15-20 years ago. In retrospect that should have been a red flag on what to expect. There are other quality eats at Pike Place Market for much less money.

Good food, nice views = SUPER BUSY

By Donna D |

Good food but amazingly busy! Lots of people/tourists stop here as it's on the main level of Pike Place Market. I head for the 3rd floor to get a decent view but obviously the window tables are the most popular, so be prepared to not get one. Best for breakfast, esp. if you're up early.

Excellent food and sevice

By Kayla |

It was a very short wait for a table by the window with a beautiful view. We shared the Crab cakes, and the fish and chips have such amazing flavor!! Best clam chowder we have had on vacation. Wait staff is very friendly and attentive!!

Pre cruise hotel

By Jen B |

It’s a great hotel room was clean air worked good. literally close to everything across from the space needle and across from pop museum. The staff was super friendly when we checked in and super friendly when we checked out Danni was the best we had a shower issue no pressure in the room but she called maintenance to go fix it right way after we checked out so the next people wouldn’t have a problem went to zekes pizza really good 👍🏽 and they do have a shuttle to port schedule when you CHECK IN and it’s 1o a person CASH !! I would recommend hotel

FRESH seafood at Pike’s Market

By Faylene |

Love this seafood spot in Pike’s Market. The seafood was so FRESH! Excellent customer service as well. The drinks were great selections. And let’s not forget to mention the views of the water from the windows. Stunning. A little crowded but nothing too bad. Casual tables and chairs. Would recommend if you want bite to eat down at Pikes Market.

Amazing place for drinks

By hawktraveler8 |

We stopped in for drinks after exploring the market and we are so glad we did. We sat at the bar upstairs and there was a very experienced bartender training another new bartender. She was awesome. I wish we got her name bc I'd love to shout her out but I wished I had a trainer like her when I was in the industry. She also told my friend and I some really neat places to go while on our trip-eat, drink, shop, etc. We did nearly every one of her recommendations and we hadn't heard of most of them. Thank you for making our Seattle weekend a blast! The drinks were great and we had a good view of outside. I would have loved to have brunch there but we just weren't hungry. Hope to be back one day!

A nice stop for lunch in the market!

By Kelly C |

A solid seafood stop for lunch! We had to wait for a table for about 20 minutes, but then got a seat on the third floor overlooking the water. Service was great and every staff member was really friendly.

Great view good food

By Mark B |

Really enjoyed the view. Nice menu. The food was not exceptional. The calamari were thick cuddle-fish strips, the spicy sauce that accompanied them was excellent. The Louie salad came with nice smoked salmon, the prawns were very good, the Dungeness crab did not have a lot of flavor, the best part of it was the grilled asparagus. The fish and chips was nothing remarkable. It came with ordinary french fries, both were lukewarm. The value of the meal was OK. The service was very friendly.

Disappointing

By Delish45 |

We went expecting great seafood. Lowell’s does not live up to its reputation. The crab cakes were very disappointing- overly spiced and thus hod what might have been a wonderful crab flavor. I would not go back and not recommend it to anyone.

Lunch disappointing

By Teago123 |

Specifically sought this place out for lunch based on reviews from family members. The shrimp was excellent but the crab cakes were a total rip off. They were the smallest half dollar crab cakes I’ve ever eaten and the most expensive. With all that’s available at pikes place don’t waste the calories

Market area restaurant

By Stephanie B |

It was a busy place right in the market, so we had to wait. Crowded, but great views, wait staff and good was good for being in a touristy area.

Rude staff taking orders

By Raissa b |

Don’t get me wrong the food is good! But the people taking orders are so rude and not polite at all, no friendly and rushing everybody. We didn’t appreciate this treatment, get better. Not coming back

Cozy seaside restaurant with awesome views

By Traveling girl |

We enjoyed the food, (quaint) bar, and views so much that we came back for a second stop on our way back home. The bar has delicious drinks- I tried Lowell's moscow mule and it was excellent! The clam chowder is a must-have. It was just the right temperature and devoured by my husband and I on both trips. I had the chicken breast sandwich both times and it was deliciously messy. Ask for extra napkins! My husband enjoyed the ruben sandwich on the first go round and white cheddar burger on the return trip. (We're not huge seafood eaters.) I definitely recommend Lowell's for a delicious lunch & absolutely gorgeous view of the bay.

Breakfast

By Victoria N |

I visited for the first time in February 2023. My sister and I were really early and arrived before the restaurant opened, and even before opening there was a huge queue behind us. I enjoyed the corned beef hash with a view of the ocean. There is a good menu, and seating upstairs too.

great spot for food before the game

By RON M |

We go to at least 4-8 games a year in Seattle GO HAWKS GO . and love to go here for a bite before going to a game the food is great ,try the crab Bennie Wow. the drinks flow and good times are had by all . and the view is great to

All good

By hogiebear33 |

Pretty barebones wait service and limited ffod choice, but the sampler crabcake, fish, prawns, etc meal I had was very nice - good veggies too! Nice viewing over the water too.

Dinner with a view

By Peter H |

Famous Seattle location so had to try, and the Clam Chowder was excellent. Was a quiet weekeday evening (8pm) so did feel slightly rushed that they were packing up, but still good service and top food.

Yes, you should.

By Laurie |

Great atmosphere and Michelle, the bartender, is wonderful! We had a great breakfast with a nice view of the water the Market atmosphere is a show in and of itself. A must every time we are in Seattle to beat the huskies or Seahawks.

Nice View and Good Food

By Mike4TraveI |

It is a good sign when there is a line at the door and they are not taking reservations. You order your meal at the entrance and it is delivered to your table. I had the fish & chips & my wife ordered the seafood salad. It came to our table quickly and was fresh and tasty. The total was $51 which was very reasonable.

Great breakfast alternative

By Mike G |

Great food reasonable price, clean and great view. The service was good and breakfast teas plentiful. Highly recommended

Incredible food and views!

By C L |

This was recommended by our hotel and was fantastic. Huge portions of delicious food and incredible seafood! Right on the water at Pike Place. Great service. Prices were reasonable. Just a fun, good place!

Pikes Market Restaurant should not be missed.

By lmx |

Ok, Pike's Market is now an overpriced tourist trap. It's not what it used to be thirty years ago. You can thank the cruise ships for that! Some things though have not changed much and this seafood restaurant is still an icon. It can and does get busy, with a huge line. The restaurant tries to move quick and provide service to maximize flow so do not expect anything fancy. Go here to experience Pikes market. Snag some of the best views of the waterfront from a table and enjoy some of the best and freshest seafood Seattle has to offer. This restaurant is unpretentious and the seafood here is, well classic. My recommendation is that you go for the salmon and chowder. My favorite dish however was the local cod fish taco's. In my opinion this was one of the best fish taco's ever and the side of beans was really good (I usually pass on the beans at any Mexican fair, but these were mixed and still intact in a flavorful broth).

tourist trap in disguise

By I9772IFterrym |

We thought it was a tourist trap but the ambience and Best of signs in the window along with the open kitchen tricked us. The food is good enough to not send back but bad enough to make you regret that you didn't trust your intuition. It is a fast turn, get em in and move em out tourist trap with marginal food and not so marginal prices.

Seafood restaurant with awesome water view in the midst of busy market.

By Ferry Mulyadi |

The restaurant is packed at weekend, i had to wat for 30 mins to order and get place to eat. Staff are really friendly, and you can see what is going on in the kitchen while queuing. The most famous food was fish and chips, but i ordered clam chowder in a sourdough bread as i heard it is specialty in pike place area. I had to climb the stairs 2 floors to get to my table, and utensils are self service. The sourdough is really not for me as it was too sour. When you are there, try to ask “Window with water view” as it is the best experience you can ever get.

The best fish & chips you will get anywhere

By NWreviews |

If there is a place that should excel in a serving of "Fish & Chips" it is this place .. very fresh, delicious panko breaded fish & cooked to perfection. the clam chowder is also top notch!! We were there just before lunch, waited in a line for about 20 minutes .. well worth it.

Not that great

By Nancy |

A caveat before the review. Seattle is just reopening and not many restaurants were open over labor day weekend. Nevertheless, the service and especially the food was subpar. I ordered the local special, salmon and honestly I could have gotten better at home in california. The staff was harried and when I said climbing the stairs to get a drink would be difficult because of my knees... getting a downstairs table was perceived as a big deal. Wouldn't return.

Nice views & friendly staff

By JohnWayne908 |

The bartender was very friendly & attentive & she provided cool historical information about the area and restaurant. Other staff members were also very friendly. I had the clam chowder bread bowl & it was excellent & filling. The views were amazing.

Good Food, Followed Vaccine Mandates

By Suz T |

My Rueben was very good. My friend raved about the vegetable sandwich and said it was one of the best she's ever had. Servers were friendly and the nice lady who checked our vaccination status before seating us was polite and friendly. One thing: maybe it's because of the need to check the vaccine status of customers, but once we were in line to order, there were six of us trying to read the small printed menu taped to the glass of the counter where we needed to order. The first three people in line were having trouble deciding, the fellow who takes the orders was nice, but obviously impatient for us to get on with it, and the line was forming behind us. We couldn't get to a spot to see the menu, which, once we were able to stand in front of it, required us to read some pretty small print below eye level. We were all bent over like crones and felt rushed to choose something so the people behind us could take our places. They need to figure out a way to fix this.

Breakfast with a view

By Daytonagatorgirl |

Ate at Lowell’s for breakfast when we got to the market a little too early for all the places to be open yet. The breakfast sandwich is so good! Comes with hash browns and is a lot of food. And the view on the third floor- amazing

Exceptional Seafood and Water Views

By Gary C |

Really fresh and very well prepared seafood, served by helpful and efficient servers. Gerardo was especially helpful in selecting our order from a great menu. Expect a wait for table service on most days but especially on weekends, but you won't regret the nominal wait. If you are pressed for time order at the counter as you enter and select a seat in available general seating areas, without the beautiful water views , to enjoy the same menu items delivered with table service upstairs.

Very nice

By Butnut |

Great breakfast. Great service. Really great views. We inly tried breakfast but I bet lunch/dinner is good too. Positive experience.

A celebrated mainstay

By PrairiePaddler |

Always a favorite when we return to Seattle, this is the place to grab lunch while exploring Pike Place Market. Again we had a great view of the Sound and waterfront, soaked up the energetic buzz, and enjoyed a fantastic meal. Great chowder, great beer, and the Dungeness crab melt was terrific.

Great harbor view now that the viaduct is gone

By ND F |

Stopped in for breakfast on a Saturday. Get there early before the big breakfast/lunch crowd arrives. Good sized portions and many dishes feature fresh ingredients, including seafood. Three floors of seating so when you look in, it’s bigger than you think. Will return next time we’re at the market.

Friendly and helpful staff

By Christopher W |

Seating was limited, due to COVID, but we got a table for 5 quickly. We asked to be moved to the window and they helped us out, no problem. Ate mixed seafood grill (fresh and tasty), salmon Caesar (large portion of salmon), fish and chips (NOT greasy-fried right!), calamari and clam chowder (delicious too). Service was quick, correct and staff very friendly and accommodating.

Great place for breakfast

By GTFC60GrimsbyUk |

Fabulous breakfast. Found this place by chance and if you are in the area I’d recommend giving it a try. Food high quality, service great and just what we needed to get set up for the day. Reasonably priced and all food freshly prepared

Delicious!

By luceelu78 |

Ate here for lunch & had the beecher's burger, clam chowder & fried calamari. Everything was so good! The calamari was so tender & the clam chowder was so flavorful! Highly recommend!

Lovely spot for a drink at Pike Place Market

By Diane L |

Great spot to relax wirh a drink! Various signature cocktails are noted, as well as beer and wine. I wish they were open for dinner, they close at 5.

Breakfast With A View

By Paula W |

When visiting Seattle, Pike’s Market, check out Lowell’s for breakfast. Crispy hash browns and wonderful bloody mary’s! And, a view that can’t be beat !!!

Lunch with a View

By Nina C |

We stopped at Lowells while at the Pike Place Market and chose to "self serve" by ordering at the counter and sitting on the third floor with our food delivered when ready. The Puget Sound views provided a nice backdrop while we enjoyed delicious chowder and fish and chips. A very good experience.

Delightful to visit and hang out

By bschrader45 |

Arrived and put name on waiting list. (OK pleanty to see and do while waiting). Was told 30 minutes but our table was ready earlier, but given to someone else. We were left at the top of the list and seated almost right away. Not a fancy place, but very pleasant and wait staff very nice and helpful. Food is reasonably priced and tasty.

Fresh food

By Latarsha J |

The food was fresh and tasty, I believe Ashley was my server and she was great. Price point was good for the amount of food and selection

Go for the chowder! Great ocean views!

By The Happy Traveler |

Lowell’s Restaurant has been a food institution inside the Pike Place Market since 1957. It has 3 floors (2nd floor is mainly a bar) with ocean front viewing. You get in line, order at the register first and get a number. Then you go find a seat and they bring you your food. It’s very casual dining and a bit rustic. Their clam chowder is really good. Order the bowl vs. the chowder in the bread bowl as the chowder is pretty heavy and you really don’t eat the bread anyway. I wish they would have had oyster crackers for the chowder like they have at other places vs. just plain saltines! It does make a difference! The fish and chips were just ok. The view from our table on the top floor was amazing though and worth the visit to this eatery.

Save your money

By Peacenik88 |

Basically, this restaurant is a tourist trap. Yes, it has a great view of the port, and yes, it's located in the heart of the Pike Place Market and that's what you're paying for. We ordered crab cakes, a mixed grill platter and a diet coke. Total with tip: $100. And the food was boring, at best.

Good food

By r1chH |

Went here to get some food for lunch after walking through the whole market. Decided to get the grilled salmon filet entree and cup of clam chowder. Clam chowder is the same as white RI clam chowder which was good. The salmon came out and I was not disappointed also had some vegetables and rice on the side with it. Server Andrew was great and overall the staff was attentive. Views are also really nice, this is a place I would come back to again.

The atmosphere is good and delicious

By terunz V |

It was in the marketplace. At the entrance, the staff told me about the system, and I immediately looked at the menu and ordered. Ask clam chowder bowls and Prown cocktails for salmon sandwiches and crab sandwiches, then go upstairs to order an IPA and go downstairs to a window seat after pickup. I was able to sit by the window very quickly. The clam chowder, brown and salmon sandwiches were delicious, but the crab sandwich was the only one with a savory cheese and crispy bread that stood out and didn't feel too crabby. The atmosphere was very good and we had a good lunch.

If your elderly or have issues with mobility, stay away

By mardi c |

I keep trying, but you keep refusing service. I get that you have stairs, I also get that you have ground level , but won't allow anyone to come in and just sit for a drink, and ponder some nosh. This is def a no if you want to sit in a decent chair in the bar / they only exist here as well if your ordering food. As a person in the service industry in a far busier environment, I find your lack of empathy and lack of decency is keeping me from being a patron. I just wanted to have a drink, sit down, and ponder possible food options. You had nothing for me.

Great Lunch

By Kruzngrlz |

We went here based on previous reviews and were not disappointed. Great fish and chips, clam chowder bowl and local beer. Great view of the water on 3rd floor. Definitely eat here again.

Views and drinks

By drmader |

Delicious drinks..imaginative/good flavors ,views and old fisherman old wood boat feel inside the pike market ..a bit warm..so more ac would be been better.. panzanella and fish/chips .. nice

Delicious salmon & rice

By Elizabeth M |

We found this place in Pike’s Place market and sat on the 2nd floor for table service with great views. We both got the fresh salmon with jasmine rice and veggies. The salmon was perfectly cooked and so fresh and the rice was surprisingly scrumptious. We also had fun cocktails and local beers. Great place to sneak into for fresh seafood and to escape the chaos of the market!

Overpriced, mediocre, tourist trap.

By Anna A |

We chose Lowells for breakfast, partly by reputation, partly for location. We were starving and I ordered Classic Canadian Eggs Benedict and my husband had the Combo Breakfast. Both dishes were luke-warm and the bacon on my Eggs Benedict was barely perceptible. Strangely they gave me a large steak knife for this dish. The coffee was ok, our server efficient but unfriendly. The Australians by the bar who ordered Espresso Martinis at 8:00 a.m. were far smarter than us! Considering that Lowells is surrounded by any number of excellent eateries, they should probably up their game instead of coasting along on promises of a view (our table didn't have one), and a longish history. How hard could it possibly be to produce a hot and delicious breakfast???

late lunch

By Elizabeth Reesor |

Ii was travelling and missed lunch. Had delicious crab cakes and a glass of white wine, sitting at the bar on second floor. Bartender was very friendly. It was a very warm day and there was no a/c which is normal for Seattle, but a fan or two would have been nice

Decent food but nothing exciting.

By xhelloworldx |

Very busy. We came at lunch time on a Thursday. We chose to order in line and find a table rather than go upstairs and sit down to be waited in due to the wait. We got the burgers which were decent and the tomato grilled cheese which was good. Kids chicken tenders were basic. Decent place but we will try something different if in the area again.

Amazing food and great staff

By Jo Cee |

Every time I have been to the Seattle we have visited this restaurant. We always sit on the middle floor as it has great views and we love the table service. The greeter Max is very friendly and always there to help if you need something. The food is delicious and its a great place to eat and watch the world go by....

Room temperature breakfast.

By William M |

We went on a Friday around 9:30 so it wasn't busy. Ordered the Hangtown Fry which is an omelette with fried oysters. When my meal got to the table it was a warm room temperature except for the hash browns which were good. The oysters were a good size and breaded right and I could tell they crispy when taken out of the fryer. They obviously cooked the oysters ahead and just let them sit around. The clam chowder was not that special either. It reminded my of Progresso New England Style chowder doctored up with some clams added.

Superb

By aeraw |

Excellent lunch. Passed by this restaurant a couple of times when we went to Pike’s place. The queue was long but oh the wait was worth it. Had their clam chowder.

Stay in line, it's worth it.

By Mystic_in_a_Kilt |

I was pretty underwhelmed with Pikes Place Market, and the line to Lowell's was pretty long, but I was assured that I would like it. So we waited and it was so worth it! Clam chowder has rich and creamy with big chunks of clam. I had the fish and chips, and was very impressed! Very worth the wait.

Recommended by cousin

By Vacationer |

This was a unique spot inside of Pike Place market. We grabbed lunch; salad and burger. Wow! Huge portions and hot, addictive fries! Cousin didn’t steer us wrong. Everything was better than expected for a little walk in restaurant. Definitely try the panzanella salad. It’s outstanding.

Average breakfast

By Ken (haileythegolden) |

We had breakfast at Lowell’s. It was really busy at 10 am. Usual breakfast food, eggs, pancakes, bacon. Service was good and very pleasant server. Food is probably better for lunch

Really Great Lunch

By Manalani |

We grabbed seats at the bar on the second floor and encountered a friendly, talented bartender (Michelle) holding her own like a boss! Just watching her pour was entertaining. Over the bar was a view of the ocean with boats and Ferries coming and going. We enjoyed our clam chowder, fish and chips, and a bowl of steamer clams too. Try the spark plug! (One of several signature drinks) I suspect it’s always crowded … I hope you can sneak a seat too. It’s a great break to the endless walking.

I think the only redeeming thing is location

By thepolishfoodie |

I think the only redeeming quality of this restaurant is the view and the staff. They go above and beyond, and I was very pleasantly surprised. Now let’s talk about the food: The clam chowder was ok. Tasted like prepackaged chowder from the supermarket. The calamari strips were greasy, and not crispy. For 15$ the portion was TINY. I couldn’t believe how few calamari were on my plate. Ordered the crab melt, and it was soooo greasy I left half of the bread in the plate because it was making me sick. It also wasn’t very good. They were cheap with the crab, and had some tomato rémoulade on it that ruined the sandwich. The cod taco portion was great but the tacos themselves were under seasoned and flavorless. I won’t be back. There’s not enough redeeming qualities about this restaurant in order for me to do so.

In Seattle for a cruise

By Traveler6862 |

Pretty busy the evening we went but we were seated quickly. The food and staff were very good and friendly. The view from the upper floor was nice. We would definitely go back. Prices were average for the area.

This Place Screams: TOURIST !!!!

By laplume9254 |

This place has been here forever. And it's not because of the food. It's the location in a major tourist place. Waited in a long, long line. The gal at the register who would take orders was so busy loading cups, and other things that orders were not her priority. What a cluster. Food was average at best. Save your money and time.

Worth the Wait!

By Emily S |

The market is obviously busy and makes Lowell's a busy option for food but it's well worth it! The drinks are yummy, especially the Caesars. The lunch menu has a lot of options, even if you don't like seafood. I'm happy we were able to get a table!

Great Tuna Melt

By rogersober |

We stopped while touring market for lunch. We ordered tuna melts which were claimed to be the Best. They were!

Not Impressive

By Weminuche |

We each had a bowl of chowder and shared the crab cakes. The chowder was very thin, basically just a milky broth with a few fragments of potato and clam. The crab cakes were ok, but could use more crab for $17 per cake. Nice view, but the food was disappointing.

Lowell’s great place for lunch

By ladybuginthesouth |

Excellent lunch and service!! I had hot Dungeness crab melt and fries. So yummy. The view on the second floor is beautiful to enjoy while having your lunch.

Fresh fish

By AU-KC |

This restaurant has the freshest seafood in Pike Place Market. The fish and chips are delicious! The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is casual and energetic. We had a window table on the first floor with great views of the bay.

Mediocre & overpriced

By Shrby |

The service was friendly and great but the food was just meh. Not much flavor at all. And overpriced. I got the Alaskan cod fish and chips. My mom liked her clam chowder though.

Loved Lowell’s

By isabill |

My husband and I arrived just as Lowell’s was opening at 8 am and there was already a line of about 10 people. We missed the staff member’s announcement about how the line works for regular dining vs the second floor area but we went with the flow. QR code menus can be scanned while waiting in line which will help speed things up when you get to the register, but paper ones are available upon request. We ordered the smoked salmon (cooked) Benedict (me) and the corned beef hash (husband) and two coffees. Mugs are provided for the coffee station in the dining areas (we chose the top floor). With our number for the table, we snagged a window two top with a view of the harbor. The coffee station could be in a better location because we had to squeeze around a large table directly in front of it, which might bother some patrons sitting there. The coffee was really good, BTW. We also enjoyed looking at the murals on the walls - kudos to the artist. My Benedict was delicious and the hollandaise sauce tasted like the real deal. My hash browns could have been a little more cooked, so they were just OK. Husband’s hash browns looked nicely crisped on the outside, and he really enjoyed the corned beef hash. Lowell’s is worth a visit and their breakfasts are pretty big - we didn’t feel hungry for lunch until late afternoon because we were so full.

Nice views

By Heather |

You order and pay on the first floor, then you seat yourself on the first or third floor and they bring the food to you. The second floor is a bar with table service. I had the smoked salmon eggs benedict with hashbrowns. The presentation was nice, and they were generous with the salmon, but the grilled rosemary bread was very hard to cut.

We went for breakfast and we liked it very much. Very original options well prepared and with good flavor. I had the clam chowder and was delicious. My son tasted it for the first time in his life and liked it very much. Service was friendly and fast.

Great food, views and a warm welcome

By DebbieR3669 |

I visited on a trip to Pikes Place. The food was great, fresh seafood and eaten with a wonderful view over the bay. The staff were really welcoming, definitely recommended. Really noteworthy though are the amazing staff, Scott and especially Jamie. I left my bag there (jet lag brain) and due to travelling wasn’t able to rerun during opening hours. Jamie so very kingly dropped off my bag at the hotel I was staying at to enable it to be returned to me. What amazing customer service and really goes to show there are still people out there who are willing to go so far above and beyond for a total stranger. I really appreciate what you did, and can’t thank you both enough. I will defiantly be returning on my next visit to Seattle. Thanks Scott and Jamie, you are awesome!!

An All Time Favorite

By davyd83 |

This is one of my favorite places to have breakfast anywhere in the country! My flight got into Seattle at 6 am, with a 6 hour layover. So I hopped on the light rail and made my way downtown so I could go here. I had a top floor window seat to enjoy the Puget Sound sunrise with an amazing platter of freshly made corned beef hash (no canned stuff), crispy hash browns, eggs and a generous serving of bacon. The food, amazing. The service, outstanding. The experience, second to none! I can’t wait for my next visit!

Good place but not excellent

By Walter R |

My 1st feeling after waiting on the bar for 35 minutes consuming drinks is that they push you to order fast and eat fast to release the tables.... They dont care if you waited for 35 minutes consuming other products to finally have a table. The food is good, fresh but nothing extraordinary. The view the ocean is fantastic, service is average.

Great place

By nottsguy57 |

Popped into this lovely place for breakfast on a 2 day visit to seattle. Really Interesting menu. Had a lovely plate of food including some really good eggs and sausage. My only gripe was it wasn't table service. After paying you had to serve yourself coffee which is very un american. Didn't leave a tip for basically serving myself

Nice place to relax and take in Puget Sound

By Follow_the_aroma |

Out here on vacation to see some of the tourist spots in Seattle. Found this place as I was traveling with another family and small kids. This place is well suited for groups and the food is spot on! Order and pay down stairs, then you can go to the 3rd floor and sit wherever. All of the food looked great and my breakfast tacos were really good (chorizo and eggs). Plus there is a ton of vegetarian options on the menu too... AND sourdough bread!

Great breakfast!

By GunnerNate |

We had a variety of plates! Each one was very tasty and well proportioned! Greg our server was nice and accommodating. He did an excellent job! BTW, the view of the water from the 3 floor is outstanding.

Nice view but just OK food

By mapa |

we ordered calamari & fish & chips. the calamari was at least 1/2" thick and limp. not at all crispy like it should be. the fish & Chips has a thick breading and the Cole slaw was awful. But, hey, it's Pikes Market a tourist attraction. the market overall is great!

All day dining at Pike Place Market

By Leveric N |

Wonderful place to have breakfast with a breathtaking view. The coffee is very good, food servings are large and price reasonable. Service fast and efficient. Great place to have a hearty meal at anytime of the day….

Walking through Pike Market

By chaskunz |

Walking through Pike Market we decided on Lowell’s Restaurant. We shared a breakfast of crab meat Benedict. There were 2 Poached eggs and lump crab on rosemary bread and covered with a light hollandaise sauce. I preferred this light sauce version to the thick sauces. The rosemary bread was a bit overpowering but tasty. BUT the huge lumps of crab where amazing. It also came with hash browns.

Lowell’s

By Chaser4801 |

Lowell’s in Pike Place Market has great food and three floors with great views of sound. I had the fish and chips. Three large pieces of fish with fries and cold slaw. The fish was cooked to perfection. Nice and crispy. The service was good. A little bit pricey, but well worth it.

Picturesque view and respite in the hectic market

By jenn_ |

Good solid traditional breakfast. The also have some crab breakfast options which are awesome. The trick move is to walk upstairs to floor two to grab seating. The view is awesome.

Clam Chowder and the Hostess Were Both Too Salty

By suzieintheoldpueblo |

We each had a bowl of the clam chowder soup, which was very salty. The hostess was also very dictatorial, not allowing one of us to sit down at a table while the other ordered, and demanding that we stand in one specific spot next to the cashier while we waited. This really wasn't necessary, as no one else was in the waiting area. I would recommend going to some place else if you are looking for a bowl of chowder.

Great seafood breakfast.

By Cassel12 |

Great place to grab breakfast in the Market. Stopped in for breakfast based on other reviews. Not disappointed. The Crab Benedict was the star of the show. The Crab omelet and smoked salmon scramble were good too. They serve real shredded hash browns which is always a treat. It will cost you a bit for breakfast but you are getting seafood! I’ll go back next time I’m in the area.

Need to wait but they’re organized

By GinaHx |

You can wait in the line outside and order your food and take it on 1st or 3rd floor. Or you can leave your name for the 2nd window view. We put out name in at 11:30 for a 1pm window lunch. They text when your table is ready so you can walk around and shop. Food is delicious!

Good any time but open for breakfast early

By mediacritic |

It's our go-to place for breakfast between 8 and 9 a.m. Food is good. Service is fine. Lunches and suppers are good, too. Cost is modest in part because it's in the Pike Street market with lots of competition for residents, workers and visitors.

Perfect spot for a water view brunch or lunch!

By Doris W |

In our four days in Seattle we ate brunch at Lowell's twice! We had such a great experience the first time we couldn't find anything that looked like it would compare and so came back :-). It's three stories of water views, top and bottom are counter service and mid-level is table service. They're a well-oiled machine as far as making sure there is seating for people. If you do counter service you order at the counter, get your coffee cup and head to your table and they bring you your food. Everything was delicious, service was quick but you didn't feel rushed to move on. If I was here tomorrow as well, I'd come back tomorrow!

great food but pricey

By eee |

great place with amazing food, the service was fast and staff was kind, the waterfront view was just amazing as well, the only bad thing was that some menu items were way too expensive

Excellent Fish and Chips

By Joan H |

It was our last day in Seattle, and we wanted Fish and Chips for lunch. Our first choice was "Anthony's" at the waterfront, but they were closed. Then I suggested to my husband that we should try the "Athenian" at Pike Place Market which was closed as well. Then I remembered "Lowell's" on our last trip to the market". Before you can be seated, you have to wait in a very long line, place your order, then pay for it. A very nice young waiter found me chair and gave me a glass of water while my husband waited in line. There are three levels, but we found a place to sit on the first level. Our halibut "fish and chips" were perfect. We didn't care for the spicy cole slaw.

Good grub and good service

By Micask |

Thanks to Tripadvisor reviewers for this recommendation. I echo the sentiments. We arrived first thing when they opened. We sat on the second floor which is the bar area and therefore over 21 only, even for breakfast. Seated at a table next to a window with water view. They have the food and service down pat. Classic breakfast of two eggs, hashbrowns and toast. Eggs requested over medium were perfectly cooked! Slow braised corn beef hash breakfast was unique in that the meat was in chunks like short ribs and so yummy! Server as adept at handling several tables at a time with proper checking in. Highly recommend.

Nice lunch; sit down service on 2nd floor

By Luv2TravelFarNWide |

This place is smack in the middle of Pike Place Market, and therefore extremely busy. You can skip the line and walk up the stairs if you want sit-down service. However, the 2nd floor has limited seating -- a small number of tables with window views of the harbor, a row of seats at the bar, and several tables overlooking the main aisle of PPMarket. Service on the 2nd floor was very good. Menu options were also good. The white clam chowder wasn't bad, but not the best in Seattle, and the Crab Melt sandwiches were probably the best option for getting a reasonably-priced crab entree. Toasted bun with quite a bit of crab meat on it, melted cheese on top, with tomato relish (no mayo). Considering how much crab was on it, there wasn't a strong crab flavor. Still, decent. Finding lunch options in this area of town is not easy, so we got lucky to find a table at Lowell's. A satisfying lunch, but won't go back.

Fabulous view of the harbour from Pike Street Market .

By rdmiller_pcj |

We went here on a Wednesday morning for breakfast . Nice room in the Pike Street Market with a fabulous view . We had to wait a bit in the bar to get a table with a view but that was fine . Pleasant staff . Good coffee . I had the oyster fry and it was terrific . Big big portion . My wife enjoyed her omelette . Price was a bit high but not bad and considering the view not a surprise .

Well worth a visit

By Charles S |

My wife and I knew of Lowell's and wanted to make a visit when we were in Seattle last fall. It was busy as usual and we were prepared to wait but eventually secured a table. They serve really great fresh seafood from their excellent servers and the restaurant has wonderful views of the water. Suggest thinking about what time you visit to try to avoid the busiest times but do so as its well worth a visit.

Good drinks with a pretty view!

By Eileen |

Went on the second floor for a drink and some fish & chips. My fiance and I were seated by the window facing the water (super romantic <3)! We both ordered fish and chips, the cod was kinda meh. The fries were alright. I only ordered one cocktail, the Leschi Lemonade, and it was straight up delicious. They have a lot of house infused liquor that I'd like to try. The waiter was also super friendly and very helpful in choosing a cocktail. I would come back just for drinks and to watch the sunset from the window again.

Lovely lunch

By Angela S |

Stopped for lunch today. Very friendly waitstaff and cashier. Sat at the window with an amazing view and excellent fish tacos hubby had chowder which was thick and tasty. Bit pricey but the quality was good. Will be back.

Super Busy but Wait for a "Serviced" Table

By MongoSchwartz |

We arrived on the late side of lunch hour and the place was jammed. But, hey, it's located at a major tourist attraction. We opted to wait for a "full service" table. We were initially told it would be a 20-30 minute wait, but we got lucky and were seated within fifteen minuts, tops. We had a basic lunch and it was fine. In particular, my fish and chips had a tasty breading and the fish was hearty and filling. Service was attentive and helpful. Nice view of the water, too.

Don’t order the clam chowder

By Mm_baldwin |

Took an out of town guest here for a light lunch. We ordered 2 cups of clam chowder and calamari strips. The clam chowder was pasty and tasteless. I’ve had a lot of clam chowder and this was probably one of the worst I’ve ever had. The calamari strips were fine, not anything special, just OK. I think this place is just a tourist trap. I will not go back.

Great breakfast

By Cynthia C |

Patrons stand in line to order their food and then find a table. After ordering, service was quick. Food was very good. We had combination breakfast- one with pancakes and one with French toast. My daughter had the crab Benedict which she said was excellent.

Right in the Market!

By GNAC-001 |

It’s been years since I visited the Market! This was an opportunity to revisit. I’m surprised by how much has not changed! It still has its charm, the smell of fish, body odors, and misc foods and spices. Regarding Lowell’s… fantastic. The food was great. Decent size portions for the expense. They have some prime real estate to view the sound.

Great Breakfast!

By Carrie D. |

We were visiting Pike Place Market and wanted a decent breakfast and were so glad we chose Lowell's! We all three had the market breakfast, with bacon, eggs, hash browns and toast and all agreed it was perfect--really good bacon and it was just enough to fill us up for the day ahead. We had a gorgeous view, too!

Great Breakfast

By Tracy Zweifel |

We were able to be seated right away with a beautiful view of the waterfront. My husband had the bacon bloody mary and it was WONDERFUL. I had a screwdriver and it was terrible. I would have told the waiter but he never returned. Not a big deal as they were very busy. The food was wonderful. Very busy place but great service

Lunch at Pikes Waterfront

By Robert R |

We had lunch here after touring the market and watching the fish tossing at Pike's. Overall, a fair lunch. The place was packed and we had to wait over a 1/2 hour just to order our food and then find a table to sit at. The food was just okay but pricey. I had the crab sandwich (very little crab) and my wife the fish sandwich. We probably should have tried one of the restaurants on the adjacent street.

Pretty good breakfast spot

By Chewywashere |

Only a 3/5 for me for a couple of reasons. The greeter at the door who was giving people directions for their (somewhat convoluted) process for a "big" group of six wasn't super friendly (here's a hint for you: we all get that you get tired of explaining how it works to clueless tourists, but, us clueless tourists are why you are busy, maybe be nice? Please? We're excited to be here, excited to be trying your place out, excited to be giving you our hard earned money, please remember, there ARE other choices out there!). One thing that wasn't explained to us, and, a server scolded us, when a group is seated together, even if were all ordering / paying independently at the counter, we're supposed to only get one number for the table (well, lesson learned). Our breakfast was good & everyone was quite happy with the food & the view. What I wasn't happy with - if we ask for a Caesar at the bar, and you don't actually know how to make one, just say so. We'd have much rather "suffered" with spicy bloody mary's than whatever those things we got were. I'm not going to say they were the worst caesars we've ever had because they weren't even close to what a caesar actually is - even with some latitude for being in the US and bartenders prerogative to put their own spin on it. Just ick. So, Canadians craving our national drink, don't do it. Have a mimosa with breakfast, you'll be much happier.

Beyond excellent! Ate here three times!

By dottie t |

We recently spent four days in Seattle and stumbled upon Lowells in Pikes Place market had three wonderful brunch meals there and would go back anytime unbelievably delicious -excellent customer service -great attention to Covid safety precautions-Sorry I only took a picture of one of my nails also excellent bloody Mary’s

The staff is wonderful and the view was beautiful and the food was delicious and fresh!

By Fal L |

The staff is wonderful and the view was beautiful and the food was delicious and fresh! I will be back!! The restaurant is in the pike place market. There is two or three levels. There is a awesome view of the bay. I ordered the crab omelette with a side of hollandaise. They were so so so delicious.

Always great for breakfast! Classic Bloody Mary is unmatched.

By M3703QA |

Always great for breakfast! Classic Bloody Mary is unmatched, IMHO. Can't fake that taste, these are expensive, but a must have.

Great Seafood Lunch

By cislots |

Food and service were excellent! We ordered a seafood platter and shared it, along with fries and two drinks. Our server was very accommodating!

Lowell's Restaurant at Pikes Market

By Karen A |

Visiting Pikes Market in Seattle and found this good spot for lunch. Service was excellent, we ordered at the counter and they bring the food to you. We enjoyed a spot by the window overlooking a view Elliot Bay. I had the Caesar Salad with blackened Salmon which was great! My friend enjoyed the fish and chips. Generous portions and good prices.

Good for breakfast

By Jennifer N |

Stopped in for breakfast, we were seated on the second floor and a window table with a nice view of the water. Service was quick and the food was good. Price seemed a little high but all the restaurants visited in Seattle seemed that way.

Great view

By nancy e |

Clam chowder very good, not very impressed with fish snd chips. Ordered at counter and then we chose a table with a beautiful view. I would return and try another item. In Pikes place mRket so an easy spot to stop in for lunch

If it was any fresher.....

By Linda H |

From the cocktails to the salmon cake appetizer to our meals........absolutely delicious! The Clam chowder in a Sourdough bread bowl was thick, creamy and overflowing with clams. The Salmon sandwich was incredibly fresh and even the burger was outstanding!

Good breakfast

By Jet79577 |

We went to Pike Place Market on our last day in Seattle to buy fish before departing. we had a little time so decided to get breakfast. There was a short line but they were efficient and kept the line moving. There was no wait for a table after ordering. The food was delivered to the table quickly. It was hot and tasted good. I felt the food had a good dinner taste. Bacon was crispy and had lots of flavor. The french toast and pancakes were good and filling.

Skip this restaurant

By Christie |

Food is mediocre at best. Not worth spending your money here. A chain restaurant like Denny’s offers better service and food. Cold food, no flavor... definitely not fresh.

Great Views Mediocre food Terrible customer service

By Rosgriffin |

I guess because they're so busy in the middle of the public market. Seattle, they don't have to pay attention to anything and offer good customer service. So they don't. But I can say that I have no desire to ever go back, the food at best is mediocre. Basically fried food and salads and burgers. But nothing special. The system that they have to get a table is horrible. They have people that direct you either upstairs or downstairs. It's completely confusing there's no provisions made for disabled people and if you do anything out of line they start yelling at you to go away. There does not seem to be anyone in charge or managing the place. I found the place completely unacceptable. The restaurant next door the Athenian has much better food and better table service and waterfront views.

Great restaurant for a nice breakfast ... with a cocktail

By Michael B |

My 12 year old son and I had a late breakfast here while touring the Pike Place market. The food was excellent - an oyster omelette and a bloody mary to top it off - nice vacation breakfast. My son gave a big thumbs up to the breakfast tacos as well. Only one thing to note - the eating area with a view is licensed so if you are there with kids, you'll need to sit elsewhere. We sat at a booth on the other side of the restaurant looking into the bustling markets, so not bad.

Go for Breakfast!

By Laurie |

Great diner food. Bustling scene with either water view or watching people walk around Pike Street Market. Decent prices for downtown Seattle.

Classic in the Pike Place Market

By acme9394 |

This was a recommendation from one of the staff at the Inn at the Market. Great view on top floor and nice breakfast. A classic diner style restaurant, with a great view of the bay.

Loved Lowell’s breakfasts

By Nick S |

Love the breakfast at Lowell’s so much that we came back on a number of occasions, to the point that the staff knew our order before they had to ask us! Lovely corned beef hash and poached eggs. We liked going upstairs where there was table service and the staff were so nice. There was usually some good rock music playing on the radio as well, a really nice atmosphere.

Blehh

By david r |

I had the world famous fish and chips, that a friend had recommended. Cole slaw was really old. Both the cod and the French fries must have been prepared when the cook was on a cigarette break. They were left in the fryer too long. Fish was dry and the fries were matchsticks. Disappointed

Great food, great value

By KiteboardingMan |

Very relaxed, casual dining, order in line, limited menu. Very surprised by the size of the portion, 3 piece Fish and Chips and the very reasonable price, $20. We snagged 2 chairs at table with harbor view, it was really a good experience! Highly recommend.

Great breakfast venue

By JSM8 |

This is another of those 'destination' restaurants in Pike Place Market. On three levels, we were directed to the middle level and had a table with a view over Puget Sound. We both had breakfast items with salmon and were not disappointed with what we ate. The coffee however, was distinctly average for what you are supposed to get in Seattle, the 'home of coffee' We didn't wait long to be seated......it was worthwhile

Spring break fun

By nytaster |

Regular bloody Mary was delicious, we ordered all 3 types but the "classic" one was the best, clam chowder was delicious, the dungenees crab omlette is def a must try, my daughter had the french toast which was excellet, they charged $9 extra to add berries didnt know if that was worth it....but all food was excellent the water view front a huge plus.

Overpriced and poor value

By edwina |

Nice view but that’s about it. Vastly overpriced for a very poor breakfast. Would defiantly advise you to pass this one by.

Great view, HUGE panacakes

By johnjT5799BX |

I loved the pancakes - three HUGE pancakes served piping hot. The side of bacon was generous as well. The service was a bit slow. Provided, I was a solo diner on a Saturday morning, it would have been nice to see my server a bit more often. Also, the Bloody Mary - at $13 - could have been a bit larger IMO. It came in a low ball-style glass which didn't have a lot of volume for the money. Otherwise, lovely view and worth revisting.

Breakfast By the Bay

By rab2012 |

Sat by the window and had a lovely brunch overlooking Elliot Bay and the carousel-yummy Bloody Mary rimmed with the perfect celery salt!I enjoyed their salmon and capers omelet and my daughter had their breakfast sandwich...which they were happy to substitute avocado for sausage as she is a vegetarian...our waitress was friendly and came with coffee refills without prompting-am very glad we stumbled in here:)

You Must Have Breakfast at Lowell's

By Linda B |

You can't say you've been a foodie in Seattle until you've had breakfast at Lowell's. Sneak in early before Pike Street Market is fully awake for great hangtown fry, excellent corned beef hash, or other seafood omelets. Beat the crowd and get a view table of ferries coming and going, too. If you plan to do the market and won't be driving for awhile, one of their excellent bloody marys is perfect starter fluid for retail therapy. Not into bloody marys? Have a mimosa. Yummy coffee. I don't care if I'm staying at a chain hotel with free breakfast, this is the better option.

Breakfast treat

By Emerald-City N |

Dungeness crab Benedict with rosemary toast was over the top! Tried a rosewater-mint-lemon mockito muddler. Excellent alcohol-free accompaniment to the crab Benedict. Friendly service. Will be back!

Wonderful breakfast

By Lori F |

A great place for breakfast at Pike Place Center. Served very quickly. Staff are very friendly. Afterwards walk in Pike Place Market for crafts and see fish being thrown.

Well rated & waterfront views

By AndreaUbok |

We start online at the door and at least it was moving. The lunch menu looks very nice and all the awards and accolades were posted on the glass in front. We ordered & paid at the end of the line. We walked up to the 3rd floor dining room & waited for our lunch to be delivered. My husband ordered fish & chips & I ordered the seafood salad. Lunch for both of us was $51. Our lunch came up quickly, It was abundant, fresh and delicious.

Good food!

By lisa p |

Great views! Good crab cakes and the fish and chips are excellent. This a family friendly place with three levels of amazing views.

Good food, good views

By Shawnwise |

Very popular location in Pike Place Market. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was good - had fish and chips and tiger prawns and chips. The panko really made the fish and shrimp. Lovely view of the harbour.

Bottom great, bar not so much!

By Travelagentmomma |

After walking in we were greeted by a happy, enthusiastic man at the counter. He explained to us how everything works and that if we wanted a quick meal to order there and have it prepared and brought out. If we wanted table service and to order drinks to go upstairs. We were celebrating a birthday so we figured it would be best for the three of us to go upstairs. We stood at the stairwell for about 20 minutes before anyone even spoke to us. They sat us in a back corner and dropped water off without saying a word. We ordered appetizers and three meals, the calamari was pretty decent and a decent sized portion. However the king salmon sandwich was hardly any fish and mostly veggies. The fish and chips was a large portion, but very bland. The brisket sandwich was hearty but very wet and sloppy and needed to be eaten with a fork and knife... the au jus is nothing to run home about. All in all, it wasn’t terrible but I wouldn’t go back, especially for the prices.

Average, Overpriced Food

By Corihi |

Average food and overpriced, nothing special. We had the crab melt ($38.90) and lox & bagel ($25.95). Busy, crowded restaurant. We dined on the second floor where there is table service. On the first floor, you order at the counter and find a table. Nice view of Elliot Bay from window seat.

Bad customer service. Go elsewhere

By Steven R |

Horrible service. They think that they are the best so they treat their customers like $h!t. I was actively ordering our food and my wife went to find a table and when she found one. They came up to her and told her to leave. I cancelled my order and went to Athenian next door and they are great.

Great food, great view

By RoadtrippingGirl2014 |

Great food. I ordered on the main floor then sat up on the third floor. Great view. Had french toast, eggs and bacon. Perfect breakfast with a view.

Nice water views, food a little disappointed!

By Karen J |

Nice views of the water! I love crab cakes, and this is a must try when I travel. I will have to say I was so disappointed with these crab cakes. Would not order them again. Also, not sure if they have an elevator, but you may have to climb many stairs to find a table.

Breakfast over Elliot Bay

By Mary L |

Traditional full breakfast menu. Great service. Great window view over Elliot Bay. We passed other breakfast places along Pine to get here and were glad we did!

You have to get here early!

By StefJax |

You have to get here early to get a seat but it’s worth it as the food is great! I loved the crab Benedict and the Bloody Mary bar!

Keep walking, don't stop for lunch.

By Jennifer G |

$28 for 2 crab cakes that were flat as pancakes, mushy and absent of any crab meat and flavor. We really should have rejected this meal and asked for our money back, They definitely do not have a lunch chef for this dish. $15 for a salad...oh my gosh it was mixed greens, with a few grape tomotoes, a couple sliced cucumber fingers and the housemade lemon dill dressing was boring. Keep walking and don't go here. Overpriced and no decent chef in the kitchen.

Lowell’s restaurant tourist trap.

By Richard L |

Ok seafood for ridiculous prices. I have had far better seafood for half the price elsewhere. We had chowder, crab melt, and fish and chips. All not spectacular. On a positive note the host and view were great.

Great bloody mary's!!!

By Iceberg704 |

This is a wonderful little slice of Seattle's Pike's Market. Best chowder and bloody mary's around. Oh and the view is awesome too and the wait staff were great.

I do not know what is so special

By Seeking Scrumptious |

I do not know what is so special about this place except the view. The staff I encountered worked very hard and were very nice - The waiter did something unusual: he made sure the guest was happy with all condiments and asked if he may provide anything more like additional salad dressing for instance. Very welcome. It has numerous flights of stairs and is a mix between cafeteria, restaurant and bar. Yes their fish is fresh. No bones about that. Their portions are small and for this type of dining way too high. Fresh fish just can not be argued away with but coleslaw poor, French fries mediocre, bread way too hard. There was nothing - except the service - which stood out. I would not ever go back.

Great coffee and roll!

By Chris K |

Okay we only stopped in for a coffee and a roll. But the Cinnamon roll was huge, warm and covered in a creamy frosting. My favorite breakfast and enough of a roll for two or more.

A somewhat disappointing restaurant in pikes place market Seattle

By Mickey |

We ate here on a local recommendation and where somewhat disappointed. Food was pretty average and really nothing special. The ambience of the restaurant is more tourist related and not a very accommodating restaurant as far as comfortability. All in all a tourist trap kind of restaurant and somewhat disappointing all around.

Breakfast in Pike Place

By Marco 1986 |

I came here the first day of my trip. Great food and amazing views. I had the eggs Benedict, it was worth every dollar. Would definitely come back here on my next trip.

Dine in options on a rainy Seattle day!

By MonkTravellers |

Dine in options on a rainy Seattle day! Waitstaff is excellent as are views. Pricing for what you get. But it is at Pikes Place afterall

Much nicer than I imagined

By Mamagoose75 |

I thought this would just be a place to get lunch on a rainy day and would be ho-hum. Pleasantly surprised. I had the seafood salad Louis salad that was excellent. The fish was so fresh and tasty and the waiter offered to bring me more dressing. My son had a crab melt that he said was really good. Free soda refills. We sat on the third floor overlooking the sound and the food was brought to us. A very good lunch with an amazing view.

Lowell's Pike Place

By fredyt3 |

Lowell's is in the Pike's Place venue. Very busy but line moves fast as staff is very efficient. We were there for lunch and was not disappointed. Opted for Reuben sandwich and clam chowder. Well prepared and very tasty

Don't waste your time

By Linda P |

We found Lowell's on Tripadvisor and chose it based on the menu and the view of the bay. The counter staff were very friendly but the wait staff not as friendly. Everyone in our party tried the fish and chips. Boy, was that a mistake! The fish had an odd coating on it - thick and a weird texture. The fish was tough so even if you removed the coating, the fish was not edible. We were sorely disappointed by the meal. While the view was nice on the 3rd floor but it certainly wasn't worth it for such a bad meal.

Cold welcome, good breakfast

By Andre.uk94 |

We were a group of 8 people and the first customers to be let in when the place opened in the morning. The hostess gave us a cold welcome and made it clear that a large group was a bit of an inconvenience for them so we had to immediately decide whether we wanted to sit at the first floor or middle floor without even seeing what it would look like and they couldn’t accommodate us on a single big table anyway. Apart from the cold welcome the breakfast experience was actually really good with good service and huge food portions. It wasn’t cheap but worth it considering the nice view and amount of food we received.

The worse crab cakes I ever

By Regina S |

The worse crab cakes I ever had. Besides barely having crab, that were bathed on a mayo sauce that hid any flavour. Wet crab cakes, self service. The only good thing is you can see the water.

Classic Seattle eatery

By SeattleTravelmomm |

Definitely hike up to the 3rd floor for the view! Due to Covid they have changed up the service etc. order and pay in advance, the line is long and people can be impatient so try to decide before you get to the counter to order!

No More Tipping in Advance

There were five of us in our party. You pay in advance and there is an option for a Tip. My husband always tips 20%. We sat down and waited. Others who ordered after us were served. We waited. Finally the waiter came to our table to check our order. Our Table number was 79. His receipt only showed the 7. The 9 did not print. By the time we got our order which included soup, it was coagulated on top. Very disappointed.

Good views; Average Food

Lowell's is in the heart of the Pike Place Market and sees a lot of action. There is a sit-down restaurant on the second floor (walk-ins, first come, first served) and a separate counter where you can order your food and hope for a table on the first or third floors to sit and take in the view. We didn't want to wait and ordered at the counter. We found a spot upstairs to sit and our food was delivered to us when ready. I was told if I wanted an alcoholic drink, I would have to order directly from the small bar on the second floor. After being ignored by the bartender for five minutes, I decided to abstain and eat my lunch. We had chowder, crab cakes and a grilled cheese. The food was all OK with no complaints. That said, nothing stood out and the crab cakes were the size of small sliders, i.e., not a big portion. I will say that the place has character, undoubtedly from a long heritage here in Seattle.
