The wife and I went to Luby's at Bandera and 1604 on May 17 for dinner. Had the LuAnn platters and the food was OK but nothing great. I had the chicken fried steak and they cut the piece to a very small portion and the plates are over $7! I think they may be cutting back too far with the portions to make more money. We will probably never go back. Never had anyone try to fill our drinks or ask us for assistance and it was a Saturday night. Small crowd shows me it has problems. The crowd was huge at Jim's next door and their food is at best average! Big name helps.

i hadn't been to Lubys in year, but i was glad we stopped at a good one. Plenty of food for a good price. We didn't realize the kids plates came with Jello but our waitstaff notice neither of the girls had one so he asked if we wanted some, so he went and brought back to. Waiter was a little too fast, we would ask for something and before we could tell him what all we needed he was off, felt bad about making him go back but he didn't wait til we finished.

I would of never thought of LUBY'S for breakfast, but it was very good with sooooooo many choices and all for $5.49 PLUS it was all-you-can-eat!! Breakfast drinks are $2.29 each which is coffee/soda/juice (apple and orange)/tea. Eggs about 10 different ways, pancakes, waffles, potatoes 3 different ways, refried beans, 2 types of sausage, bacon, 3 different fresh fruits. Everything was hot and fresh when we arrived at 815a on a Saturday morning. The only thing missing...breakfast sweet bread/muffins/donuts.

We took our 4 year old grandson to eat. We thought he'd enjoy picking out his food - no kid's menu. It took a piece of Chocolate Icebox pie to motivate him to eat some chicken and vegetables. Fortunately, the pie was generous enough to be shared with three people.

Stopped buy on a weekend when we saw Luby's serving breakfast, all you can eat for $5.49. This operation has been in town for over 60 years but started doing breakfasts on the weekends four years ago. They have three types of scrambled eggs; regular, chorizo, and onions and peppers. They also have fried eggs, pancakes, French toast, grits, two sausage types, refried beans, huge biscuits,Texas toast, oatmeal, and sausage and onions. There's also gravy, salsa, and pico de gallo, cereal and oranges. There are not many decent places where you can fill up on tasty food for that price. This would be a great place to bring your hungry teenagers if they can handle the pleasant old school decor.

Popular lunch spot, but since being diagnosed with elevated blood pressure, we haven't eaten there much as most main items are too salty. There is a good selection of salads, though.

It is a fast healthy food, the fried fish is the best, and the hot bread very good, the desert is addictive hahaha, and you choose your food, that is awesome.

The food has flavor; portions are good...the staff is very friendly....one waiter in particular, Chris B.....tall, slender blonde gentlemen, he is the best waiter ever. Whenever we eat there we want to sit wherever he is waiting tables. He is not only polite, but really goes the extra mile making sure your meal is very enjoyable. Your drinks are never empty...he clears out your empty plates with a smile and just makes you feel special. He even brought hot damp towels with lemon to clean our hands. He is truly the best!

Even I look for something other than mexican food. My kids and I love to get vegetable plates. My husband loves the mashed potatoes and cheesesteak.

Yuck And expensive Felt like I was visiting my Gma at a retirement village Food is sub par, expensive, and the smell is horrible Bathrooms gross Never again

After eating chicken fried steak at Lulus Bakery and Cafe. I walked across the street and got a pecan pie to go. Yummy!

I come to San Antonio about every 3 or 4 years and always have at least one meal at a Luby's. The big problem is the order is always so large there is no room for desert. This time my wife and I had lunch here. I am sure by now most people know this is a cafeteria. First are many choices for salads, then the main course, the sides and bread, desert and drinks. My wife had Tilapia, fried okra and rice and a role. I had a giant order of meat loaf which was large enough for three people, okra and beans. We both were happy with our meals and sorry we had no room for desert. I should I had some very good Jalepeno corn bread. Good , but only luke warm.

Food is served right in front of you.So many choices and just the right amount for a nutritious meal.Salads and desserts and fresh breads baked all day long. The food is seasoned just right ,meats are cooked to the fullest yet very tender and the flavor is wonderful. Now they even have breakfast with a variety of breakfast choices to help make your day go by on a healthy start.

This is a busy place with the locals. It's in a shopping mall.Enjoyed their pecan pie which isn't too sweet and they give a huge piece.Went there for the salads and vegetables.

I don't frequent any other Luby's. If you are not familiar with Luby's, it is cafeteria style (maybe like Picadilly or Morrisons?). The location on Main & 35 is awesome. Here is my brief summary: Can get a bit crowded at lunch, but worth the wait. A few menu items change daily. Options include full portion, Lu-Ann(smaller portion) or veggie plate. My lunches range from $8 - $11 depending on what I want to splurge on or treat myself. Recommendations: fried fish, meatloaf (Mondays) chopped steak and gravy. mashed potatoes and did I mention GRAVY? Accessibility: good to above average. Covered drop off area, multiple ramps. Sirena and her coworkers work the to-go side. They are the GO TO team! She is awesome. Servers on the other side of the house are always on it as well!

Sort of reminds me of old time "hospital" cafeteria food. Also, confusing menu and pricing. Will NOT go back.

But maybe if you like expensive cafeteria food it isn't such a bad thing. At least you can see what you're going to eat before you buy it.

I stopped by today for a quick meal with two gentlemen and the food was great. I paid $27 for two people which was a little more pricey than I thought it would be for the style of food, service (it's similar to a buffet line with a tray), and the establishment. The food, on to itself, was very good (8/10), the actual building/decor was on the lower end (5/10), and the service was ok (6/10). Overall, it was a quick fill up stop. Would I go back? Sure, if it was in the way though I wouldn't go out of my way to come here. Average, overall.

Excellent pork chop, vegetables had no flavor or seasoning at, tasted like they were straight from the can. Cake was mot fresh, ice tea was very good. Food only luke-warm.

I love Luby's. The food is always good, the service is just fine since it is a self serve buffet style. This is the best cafeteria I have eaten at in the United States and it is a shame that there are not more of them but Golden Corral makes that irrelevant now in many cities. The price is reasonable. This is not California cuisine. This is American cuisine. This is what mom makes or serves at home. There is a nice selection of cold salads. There is a nice selection of hot entries, beef chicken etc. There is a wonderful assortment of vegetables which is what I like. Sadly like all southern cooking alot of it is flavored with ham and I know that is what makes it taste so good but it isn't great for your arteries. Still you can still find alot of vegetables without the pig. Then there is the usual desert display for all you pie lovers. I do not love pies so this is hardly a temptation for me. But the food is always good at every Luby's I've eaten at. I can't say the same for Piccadilly and Farr's cafeterias. In small cities Golden Corral does not measure up to Luby's in Dallas, or San Antonio. i like Luby's and Cracker Barrel and Golden Corral for the hot vegetables. Golden corral has 1 price and you can go back for seconds but I don't need the seconds.

Restaurant, especially entrance and doors are dirty and greasy; have seen instances of Managers and staff being extremely rude to senior citizens; food is definitely so-so. I remember going to Luby's in 80's/90's and it was as good or better than any three or four star restaurant. Family members from out of state used to come visit just so they could go to Luby's -- the current owner's have run Luby's into the ground just like they have Fuddruckers -- obviously a good restaurant with consistency is not their goal. Must be a tax write off.

Food cold...way to expensive and you have to go find someone to serve you! When you complain they tell you that is hopw we do it and when you go to corporate they blow you off!

I love Luby restaurant but this one in San Antonio was different. The meat selections were not varied. The courtesy lady I had at first was hateful. I changed ladies and the new lady made up for the mean lady. It's not a new design location so it has the moth ball feeling.

An old standby. I've been eating at Lubys 50 years, all over the state. Consistently good, and fresh. Nice helpings, friendly staff. The early LuAnn platter is a real bargain. Homemade desserts. Just a good place to eat with a big selection of food.

We stopped in to eat on our way home. The line moved quickly. The salad selection was beautiful. The rest left something to be desired. Even though the food was on warming trays some was only lukewarm. I got a piece of grilled salmon that seemed a bit undercooked. All in all it was pretty good, the servers however, were a bit terse and a little sloppy putting the food on the plate. Good prices, about $30 for the two of us.

This is not my favorite restaurant. The food is usually too salty and soaked in butter. I had the blackened chicken, potatoes a green beans. Even the pecan pie was too sweet.

Staff courtesy, delicious menu, moderately priced. The interior was as clean and welcoming as was the staff.

We had discount vouchers from our motel for this cafe so thought we'd try it. What a mistake! It is huge place but resembles an English motorway cafe. Food is all pre cooked and displayed in a hot plate type Bain Marie, and customers pick up a tray and file past indicating to servers their choice.most customers seemed to be elderly and on a budget. I had chicken pot pie with mashed potatoes and found that under the pastry I basically had a bowl of soup that the cook had waved a chicken over rather than put any in the meal. The corn bread was so dry as to force me to drink water to swallow it.closes at 8 pm. I won't be returning anytime soon

I went to lubys for lunch the service was awesome and the portion of food they gave me was worth my money and then some.I'm going back today I had enough for the following day.

I don't like waiting on myself when I eat out....but the food was terrible too!

This how long I we have been eating at Lubys . I worked with the best of managers in San Antonio , I met my husband while at Lubys and I still keep in touch with former employees. Now for the good part could we see different menus., like Beef strogunoff, Italian cutlet, stuffed peppers, chicken & dumplings ,also different salads , we eat there more than 3 times aweek Mary

Been eating at Luby's all over South TX for over 50 years. Love having vegetables as sides. Today lunch was not hot last week different location same problem. Also silver ware was not totally clean eithet time. Sorry to report this. Unexcusible.

I like Luby's. This is one of the favorites for me and my family. It's clean, has friendly workers and good food. The tea is also good. I recommend for visitors and anyone living in San Antonio. I wish I had one near by where I live now.

I have been to Luby's dozens of times. The place is reliable, always good food, sizeable portions, and consistent preparation. It is a good value, but getting a bit more expensive. Good place for a relatively fast sit-down lunch or dinner.

The food is very bland, no flavor what so ever. Other than really bad food the service was ok.

Luby's is my go-to place when I want a hearty meal for lunch. I have literally been there over 100 times over the past 3-4 years. The food is usually great. The service is usually good and they are usually fast. BUT I have had dry chicken, bad service, and super slow service too. This is only about 5% of the time. Yet, it's the reason why I can't rate them higher. Other than that, I really like this place for good comfort food.

Confusing menu at the cafeteria line (hard to figure out prices or what's available from the menu, and staff didn't seem to communicate well when asked); food was okay but not great. Weird lighting.

I love Luby's! I know it's nothing specail - but I like it!

I returned the day after Thanksgiving and discussed the previously reported gravy issue with the manager He assured me that they Do make real giblet gravy and I was just given the wrong thing. He gave me two gift cards with a value of $10 plus (we won't know until we use them) as a refund for the two gravies.

The lines are long for a reason. The food is good! It's always seasoned perfectly and the portions are pretty huge. Not to mention, the drive thru is a serious plus!!

Ate here for the first time and totally impressed with the big servings. Cafeteria style service but there are waiters to assist you if you needed them . Not bad .

I love Luby’s. Always have. It’s a San Antonio institution. I had the fish which was excellent. The macaroni and cheese was to die for. The broccoli was excellent. Of course the sweet tea is the best tea anywhere. The quality of the food is still high as is the service. Everyone is so nice. I’m a Luby’s fan and will continue to be.

The Luby’s cafeteria on Floyd Curl and Blanco is one of the locations that serve “all you can eat breakfast” from 8-Noon on Saturdays and Sundays for 4.99. It sounded like a good deal so we stopped by yesterday. It was not too crowded at 10:30 and the line moved quickly. (They are also serving lunch at this time; you have a choice). We decided to try a little of everything and the food was very good. If you want more, you can get back in line for a second helping, or if you just want something small like a second steak or waffle, there are plenty of staff out in the restaurant willing to make a run for you. We didnt try everything, but what we did try was good, including the steak topped with cheese, bacon, and chives. The only setback was that all of the food was cold; they seemed to have some trouble with keeping hot things hot. But once again, the floor staff was more than happy to pop our plates into the microwave. All in all it was a good deal and the food was good, I would recommend it and would return. Just a note, 4.99 is just for the meal, coffee, juice, or soft drinks are about $2.00 extra.

I went here with a group of 16 people on the first day of our business trip. I did not know I was going to a cafeteria style lunch place and didn't really get a choice in the matter..... This place is exactly like Elementary SCHOOL LUNCH but for adults! I got Tilapia and after a military discount and getting WATER to drink, I paid $13.00 (and some odd change.) I nearly had a HEART ATTACK!! My fish was COLD and the salad dressing (Raspberry) was thick and globby and resembled liquefied jello and I couldn't eat it because it was gross. The staff was nice though... That's the only thing okay about this place. I will not eat here ever again due to the price!

I stopped at the Luby’s in DeSoto, TX on N. Beckley Rd. on Saturday morning. The special was AYCE breakfast for $6.49 which is a good price. The food was standard for being on a steam table for who knows how long. You can get full and there was a good selection. Plenty to eat but not real fresh. The staff and cashier was very friendly and polite. Some of the foods were not hot and the first cup of coffee was cold. The friendly waitress did get us fresh, hot coffee.

Lots of choices but every Lubys is different. Some serve you plenty on the plate and others serve you like they are afraid of the serving spoon! Temperature of food is a hit or miss. Many times have sent the food back to reheat. Again every location is different.

Just waited in line in my care for 35 minutes after ordering on the intercom, only to be told they were out of liver and onions. Great! That was a waste of time.

Luby's is getting very expensive and the food is not worth the price. The fried fish is OK, the mac and cheese is good, but other food such as the cornbread, green beans, and okra are definitely sub-par. The service is great and the people are very friendly, but it is too much money for what you get.

Gwen was our waitress. We've been there many time but first time she was our waitress. Extremely polite, knowledgable and very friendly. She had other tables but never failed to make sure we didn't need anything. Made our visit much nicer. we will most definitely be asked to sit in her section!

I enjoy their tilapia and other fish dishes there. They don't open till 11 a.m. and they are very exact about that. We've waited in the foyer on several visits. They do have a wide assortment. Especially enjoy the Jelllo congeal (has cottage cheese, nuts, and whip cream).

We come in to San Antonio every weekend to visit a relative and we go to this Luby's on a regular basis, usually two times a month. Why? We can count on the food being consistently good and at a decent price. We have favorite dishes, my wife's being liver and onions which she gets almost every time. I get fish most often but also get turkey and dressing. We get the Luann Plate which is a smaller portion of the main dish (like liver) with two sides and bread for $7.95 or thereabouts. It is still a lot of food for us. We get out of there with drinks for right at $22.00. It is a cafeteria, so they have a wide variety of entrees, sides, breads, salads and beautiful deserts. If you start with a full size meal (not the Luann) and get a drink and a desert (let alone a salad) it can get kind of expensive. We rarely get desert because we don't have room for it. Often, we need a take-home box. The staff is helpful and friendly. There is staff who check on customers to see if they need refills etc. They clean up the tables, too. The décor is a bit dated but well kept and since many of the customers have been coming for years, it fits. The range of customers goes from young couples with children to elderly couples. Children eat free with an adult on Saturday (evening?) and one other day. There are always a fair number of families with children when we are there around 4-5 on Saturday. This particular location was a former bank and converted a while back and is popular. The thing about Luby's is one can go to any of their locations and be pretty sure of getting the same quality and service.

Always good, easy cafe to run into and know the food will be good.I believe that Luby's tries to keep cost reasonable for so many that enjoy there food, and have grown up eatting at their many locations for 40 plus yrs

I can always count on Lubys for a hot balanced meal. My favorite continues to be their fried fish. The Luann platter is more than plenty which includes 1/2 selected entree, 2 sides of your choice which could be a salad, vegetables, etc & choice of a type of bread. I personally love their Mexican corn bread. Kids or grandkids in our case eat free on Wednesday & Saturday. Great place if you are on a budget.

We had an early dinner here last night and enjoyed it. The quaint old style of the building and neighborhood is attractive. I had the baked chicken with broccoli and a squash zucchini mix that was excellent! I don't typically recommend Luby's but this location was better.

Luby's now offers lots of specials (seniors, all-you-can-eat) or you can still dine a-la cart. And the food is well above average, sometimes downright outstanding.

Gret food and all you can eat breakfast. Food was kind of bland though but was very convenient. Still plan to eat there when I return. Staff was polite.

A decent cheap buffet kind of place where you pay for what you pick up going down the line. I was staying next door at the Rodeway (don't go there) and ironically the wifi for the Rodewat worked in Lubys but not in my room. :)

Love to eat at Luby's when visiting San Antonio Texas! The atmosphere is great and friendly. All meals are perfect to include the desserts! The waiting line does not take long at all, once you enter the doors you are greeted by one of the hostess and you are on your way to looking at all the food behind the glass! Enjoy your meal!

Lubys on north main. food was not hot, baked potato was full of black rotten spots. The waitress came one time after my husband called her. So many disable people including us, have to park on the far side of the lot while we watched employees park near the building. They should leave these spaces for the ones in need. She arrived @4/30pm and was in a dark blue car. Parked right up front. My husband is a dv from Vietnam. Not easy to walk all that way when we are from out oftown, hear about great food and have this experience.

This was a really quick place to eat at and it was excellent. we will eat here on the way out of san antonio.

Everything is good. Super lunch and dinner plus weekend brunch.

I frequently get a vegetable plate. Lots of good vegetables. I like the spinish, cabbage, and others. Different vegetables day to day. The Almondine fish is excellent. Wed Kids eat free. Breakfast on weekends is a deal, low cost and all you can eat.

Food was good. Chicken fried chicken. And green beans. Cheese cake was very good. The waiter was very friendly. Clean restaurant I would definitely return.

The fried fish is always good...although few years ago the food quality had declined. The food today was the old good taste from my childhood.

My husband and I went to Ingram mall and decided to eat at Lubys for lunch. The veggies were cold and we had to wait for a featured dish. I believe they should have it ready since it was the special. We waited 10minutes by then we had eaten the cold veggies . But the worst thing about this Lubys is the ladies restroom . It was horrible, smelled so bad that it makes me ask what does the kitchen look like? Am I going to get sick from eating here? I had to wipe the table with an antibacterial wipe, it felt sticky and dirty. I will not dine here again, and I would not recommend this cafeteria.

As a server for most of my adult life, I can say that the servers need some training in what to do and not do. Our server only came by once to ask if we needed refills, and I noticed another server eating out in the ope. NOT a recommended activity for a server on the clock. The food was one of the best I have had at a Luby's though.

I've been going to Lubys since I was 5 and I was even a dishwasher there during highschool. Great food. Cafeteria atmosphere with wonderful desserts. Fair pricing. Lines can get ugly around lunch so know that up front.

Cafeteria style San Antonio Staple. You have to go to a Luby's Before you leave.

I went to the one in South Park Mall & what a shame. The place is dead, the carpet you could tell is old & stinky (why would a restaurant do this?) & it's just not same anymore. Gone are the pickles, cheese sticks, the Lu-anns are now almost as much as a regular plate, the drinks are expensive, we paid $20, for two of us, & that was me getting the salad, with soup & water, because I had just eaten earlier. I mean the food was good. I got chicken soup, mom got cod which looked good. But to me it was expensive. Will not be going anytime soon.

Have gone to Luby's near downtown San Antonio twice this week and both times had a delicious meal. Only problem was not with the food but in that dishes, trays and stuff were lying all around; no flatware was available for several minutes (no wonder as they were all out at empty tables). It was not enough to deter me from going but I wanted to help!

This is a San Antonio Classic, we recommend it for lunch they have great specials, I love the Chicken Fried Chicken

A visit to Luby's is almost always a good experience. The food is usually good and the staff is friendly. My only problem with Luby's is the price. Can't afford to eat there very often.

My aunt and uncle lived in San Antonio for almost a year back in the day and raved about Luby's. They said it was their favorite restaurant in all of SA. So we tried it. If you seek old fashioned, American style, comfort food, this is the place. The one off Walzem in Windcrest was clean, if a bit dates, and the staff was most accommodating. While the selection was considerably less than other buffet style places, the cost was reasonable and the food was, well.... comforting. Will I be going there again? Probably not but just because I prefer the spicy Tex-Mex flavors so abundant in this area.

This is a cafeteria chain which raises itself above the rest by serving high quality regional comfort food at great value. Certainly not fancy but clean and comfortable. At a recent visit highlights included chicken fried steak (in a huge portion that 2 of us split), deep fried okra and an excellent pecan pie.

Luby’s is our favorite cafeteria in San Antonio. We cannot cook a lunch or dinner at home as good or inexpensive as the food we get here. North Main is our closest location but Luby’s have many more locations in San Antonio. They provide a wide variety of choices on the serving line and we enjoy everything they cook. Our favorites are the fried Chicken and the Fish but we vary what we order. The Luan platter is our favorite at Lunch, which gives us a half order of the meat and two vegetables plus a bread choice. The Combo provides a full order with the same other choices and this is our normal dinner choice. Salad and Deserts are extra but both good value if you desire either with your meal. When you get your tray to the table they have great folks in the dinning area that will assist you in whatever needs you may have. We signed up on the Luby’s website and they send us specials and discount coupons on a regular basis. Our favorite is two for one Combo meals, which we always try to take advantage of.

Luby's is a mainstay in my family. Every Sat my parents family meet at 12:00 to eat lunch here and enjoy each other's company. They have great enchiladas and I love the tilapia. It's not 5 star, but it's like home cooking.

When dining inside, the food is always cold and the place has an overall bad smell. The drive-thru serves up the best meals at this location. The food is always fresh and hot. Very hit and miss.

We had out of town guests exploring Texas culture, and of course we had to take them to Luby's after the Mission Trail tour. The restaurant was very clean, and the service was cheerful. Our waitress came back several times to refill beverages and to make sure we didn't need anything. One person had the tilipia which she described as the best she had ever eaten. The pecan pie got rave reviews, and my tortilla soup (with beef) was great.

Haven't eaten in a cafeteria in years, but really enjoyed the food .Nice selection of entrees, with a long list of sides.Food was hot and servers were very nice and pleasant. Portions were just right and left room for desert. Worth the visit.

I know this is a national chain most people have at least heard about but I have only been to it several times because my uncle likes it so much. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality considering it is a buffet. I like the Baked Almondine with a baked potato. The fish comes out tender and moist each time I ordered it. There desserts are not too bad either.

Love Luby’s for a home cooked meal. Love their liver and onions. Also their baked chicken. Vegetable are always great and desert is to die for. Wish they would bring back one of my old time favorite desert. The one made with saltine crackers. This was my favorite.

Something for everyone. Lots of choices...comfort food, salads, heavy meals and lighter healthy choices. Great, large desserts, too, but I never have room. Never had a bad meal at Luby's.

I come to here often but the service and staff was awful today. I had a Luann with Liver and it was burnt and cold. I got a kids meal with the chicken strips and we never got the chicken strips because after I had been here almost 20 minutes the waitress came back to tell me that they forgot to drop the strips and it would be 6 more minutes. Maybe they were working with a short staff no one ever came back to see if I needed anything. I wanted to leave a tip but after 20 more minutes I needed change so I could tip the waitress but no one still hadn’t showed up and my baby was getting cranky so I left and left half of my food on the table alone with my dessert. I will never come back again on the weekend. I’m glad that the service is normally better and this wasn’t my first visit because it would definitely been a deal breaker

The food was not good. The prices seem to have gone up the last time I visited. Won't return. Not a good experience.

Texas has some of the best Cafeterias. Years back, they expanded to other states, but closed the ones in our area. I miss the Chicken Fried Steak, Fried Okra, Black-eyed peas, and incredible deserts. When in Texas - try the best.

Luby's is a standard cafeteria, like Furr's. If you are in the mood for basic food, Luby's is consistently good. It has been in San Antonio for many years.

Just stopped in Lubys on Walzem for a Buffett. The advertising is from Monday thru friday, all you can eat from 11am to 4pm. The time I arrived to the cashier is 3:02 pm and I was charged $9.99 instead of $8.99. The food is Ok but when you're a person who checks receipt, um I need to ask questions. It looks like I will be speaking to corporate in reference to FALSE ADVERTISING.

6 of us ate there for around 70.00 they have a ton of options the food is very authentic home made. Huge portions we all had leftovers. We will definitely eat here again if we find ourselves back in San Antonio.

A fun place to take the children when they want that "buffet" experience.

I have yet to get a hot meal at Luby's several visits. Since they insist on collecting payment BEFORE one even sits down, the food is always cold. It is also so nice to have everyone have long conversations in line. The food is not as good as in the past.

They have a wide choice of entrees and veggies and salads. They give a senior discount from 3:30 to 5:30 M - F. the busboys are very helpful; if you forget your butter they will run up and got some for you.

Yuck First, there are NO menu prices! Second, the menu is very limited Third, the prices are ridiculously high for the quality of food-$37 for two trays?! 4th, it has no atmosphere in the crowded seating area(unless you count the atmosphere of a gross school or retirement village cafeteria) 5th-it smells like a retirement home-bleach and pee 6th-the bathrooms were disgustingly dirty 7th-the water was warm, gross tasting, and difficult to find 8th-not to be rude or anything, but there were so many sick elderly people there I felt like I was in a facility 9th-the food was not good quality-it tasted like a school cafeteria-gross!! Waste of money.... N E V E R going back!

Only old people should eat here. I'm not kidding. It is so gross. I think you have to be born in San Antonio to appreciate this place. It is not worth your dollars or change.

Great food here - i love the fish, okra, cornbread and mac and cheese. A little pricey to have to stand in line and choose as you go along, but that is what a cafeteria is!

This Luby's is awesome! Fresh fresh FRESH food! Even at 3 in the afternoon. Smiling service line employees, great table attendants, abundant seating and delicious desserts!

I grew up eating Luby's. Love the fried cod, mac & cheese, fried okra & jalapeño cornbread - oh and tarter sauce with salsa on it. & sweet tea.

Good food for a cafeteria - friendly helpful people - drive thru big plus - a little pricey for what you get but very convenient

They have priced themselves out of the market. I would rather go to a restaurant & be waited on for the price.

Weekends they now do breakfast......cheap, fast and really really good. Only weird thing is assessibility of coffee. I'd rather be able to get my own, especially refills. But a nice selection including pork chops.

ally slipped in recent years. Too expensive for what you're getting.

The staff at this location is great however they did lack a little in the quality of their food; not a bad place!

A cafeteria is never my first choice but Luby's used to do a very decent job. Over the past few years the prices have risen greatly. Their Luann platters (the half portion discount platter) is now almost as high as a full price meal elsewhere and the quality is no where near the freshness I remember years back. Most of the food is over cooked and tasteless. The few things I used to really enjoy there are no longer on the menu. The jello is still good.
Good for variety
I think they have better enchiladas than a lot of Mexican restaurants. Good liver and onions. Prefer to go on Wednesdays after 4 or Saturdays, when kids eat free. Food is a little overpriced.
