Great Family-Run Restaurant

By Colleen B |

Even with two major league games going on, the family-friendly staff (and kitchen) came through with another wonderful meal, making everyone feel relaxed and unhurried. If the last thing i ever eat is the Chicken Marsala, that will be heaven enough.

Great find for lunch. Great flavor and service

By karen w |

We were so lucky to stumble upon this restaurant for lunch yesterday. Dad had linguini and clams,I had spaghetti and meatballs and daughter had daily special which included peen with sauce, and a small salad. Food flavors were delicious. Service was great. We were well satisfied and happy. Go on in and give em a try. I think you will be glad u did. šŸ˜€šŸ·šŸ‘

Louis next door...immediate neighbour

By Gary S |

We had an airbnb flat across the junction. Table for two no nonsense thank you. VIKA great job on the wine selection. Cheeky number from Sardinia. Photo attached .Belting. Boss lady lived in UK so we had immediate rapport. Also Vika has a postcard fetish just like me. Good match. Caprese salad. Intermezzo of vongole ...bit too much food Main course was a wholesome veal saltimboca Nice food nice people. I would eat here again just to converse with Vika and the Boss lady.

Fast food but not on a budget.

By Kate F |

Being in Seattle for just one night we opted for Italian. Every stage of the meal was rushed with plates being cleared away before everyone had finished. It was a strange and disappointing experience and to add insult to injury a 20% service charge was added to the bill. The food was nice enough but nothing special and possibly the most expensive ($130) and quickest (40 minute) ā€œfast foodā€ experience we’ve ever had!

Good food

Pleasant place. Good atmosphere. Nice design Friendly people Food is good and served Italian way Recomnded.

Average food, rushed meal, slightly overpriced, but with an automatic 20% tip on the bill

By UdeGodt |

When we first stepped into the restaurant at 6:30 PM on a Friday evening, the place was nearly empty and had a strange vibe, so we basically felt like turning around an leaving, but we wanted Italian food and decided to stay. The menu was pleasantly short and easy to choose from. When I asked for the wine list, the owner (I assume it was the owner) simply said: "I am the wine list". That is hardly a suitable answer to a customer. So we decided to go for a glass of the house wine. No bread was served. Two water glasses and a pitcher of water was delivered to the table but the water was not poured. The appetizer, bruschetta, came fast and was rather tasteless. The main courses, pasta and pizza, came way to fast for this to be original cooking. The pasta with salmon tasted well. The pizza was clearly pre-made and was way to heavy on cheese. Even before finishing the main course, the waiter: 1) Asked if we wanted dessert 2) Tried to take my plate away 3) Tried to take my wine glass away 4) Brought us the bill It seemed to us that the place was trying to get rid of us, so we decided to go for dessert and coffee at another place nearby. When we got the bill, a 20% gratuity was already added and included in the total sum to the paid. This is an insanely rude way to treat customers. The 20% itself is to big a tip in this case, and the only way to avoid this over-tipping is to start a discussion with the waiter or the owner, and that is not really why we went out for a couple's dinner on that Friday night.

Authentic Italian Eatery

By Karen1865 |

Great menu choices. Fresh and fulfilling! Try the chocolate salami dessert for something different. Service is excellent.

Very impressed

By Rocks_road |

We came here for lunch after visiting the Columbia Center Skyview Observatory. I had read some reviews and it sounded interesting. We arrived around 1:00 on a Monday. They were not very busy and gave us extra attention, good conversation. They have a cooking school here too and that made me think the food might be good. I had the Gnocchi Brisket -- never had anything like this before -- it was great. The brisket was in small pieces and the sauce was the reduced juices. My wife had the Chicken Parmesian -- crispy, light and tasty. The vegetables were very fresh. We highly recommend and will be back.

Sensible Italian meals

By tmsterling |

A very nice meal. Good bruschetta. Solid pizza. Decent chicken sandwich. Nothing to craze over but nice atmosphere. And the attentive staff and reasonable prices make it a good stop downtown. Warning: Luigi's has no air conditioning, which isn't a problem 99% of the time. We were there for the other 1% and it was a 85 degree day. No matter. Still a good, hearty meal.

Very good food, friendly service

By Sly |

Service was very friendly. We had garlic bread (which was good), brisket gnocchi (really tasty!), shrimp risotto (very good also) and the fra diavolo pasta (tasty but too spicy for me). I found the prices a bit steeper than I would have expected for a casual restaurant like this, but nothing too excessive. I didn't appreciate the fact that a 20% tip was added to the check, but as service had been very helpful I didn't object. Good for a quick, casual meal.

Who needs a wine list? I’m a sommelier!

By keithwatt123 |

We had gone to Luigi’s several years ago and enjoyed a simple authentic Italian lunch complete with checkered tablecloth. So why not try again for dinner? Should have thought again. Server tableside takes our order, starts to walk away then in an afterthought turns back and asks if we would like a glass of wine. Do you have a wine list, we ask. No but I’m a sommelier comes the reply. We should have left right there. Unfortunately we didn’t and the rest was a sorry tale. Don’t go.

Excellent Caprese Salad!

By VLRK33 |

I ordered caprese salad and garlic bread to go. The best caprese salad I've had, very generous portion. Friendly staff.

Excellent Italian food and great service. Reasonable prices and lots to choose from on the menu along with quite a good wine list.

Eat at Pioneer Square after a game? EAT HERE!! OMG! Luigi's lasagna is incredible!!!

By SactoDiner |

Whether the Sounders win or lose, you will be a winner if you eat here. Stopped in for lunch and was astounded with the quality of the food and the gracious service. If you are near Pioneer Square, like Italian cuisine, and eat here, you will not be disappointed. Spouse and I had a lasagna with an incredible sauce with subtle flavors. - My Ceasar Salad was amazing. Our server was as charming as the food was delicious. You will leave there with a satisfied appetite and you won't need a second mortgage to pay the bill. The restaurant is easy to find - and it is near a couple of parking garages at the top of Pioneer Square area right at the corner of Cherry and 1st Avenue.

A small intimate Italian restaurant in the heart of downtown Seattle. Salciccia was great if you like something a little spicy.

Unassuming place, amazing food!

By Kaleidoscope_EL |

When you first walk in, it really screams ā€œMom and popā€ and not exactly in a good way. But once you are greeted and seated that All changes to good! Food was all made to order and very authentic Italian, but still recognizable for my ā€œAmeri-Talianā€ taste. Ordered the lasagna, pizza, fettuccini Alfredo and the sweet potato ravioli. You have to try this amazing food, but the sweet potato ravioli was out of this world! My friend Culla Brown was with us and highly recommended the lasagna. 10 our of 10.

Super!

By WestedgeSparks |

Great food! I had the spaghetti and meatballs. So good! My kid had pizza and he really like it. Everything that came out of the kitchen looked really good.

Enjoyable dinner

By Don D |

Stayed at Courtyard with son and family and looked for reasonable eatery in vicinity and Luigis was a few blocks away so went. Great service and very amiable. Recently reopened after COVID downturn. Pasta was very good and all enjoyed.

Started well....

By MJSpinks |

This Italian eatery was across the street from our Airbnb so thought we’d give it a try. We were greeted by a lovely young man and shown to a table. As per previous reviews, there is no wine list and a lady with the title ā€˜sommelier’ gave us advice on a wine which was actually really good. My husband had starter which was ok, mozzarella bit bland apparently. Then they accommodated his request for half portion of pasta for an intermediate course. Huge bowl of pasta with clams!!! Now it went a bit sour after this... husbands saltimbocca was too thick and sauce gloopy. I ordered chicken parmigiana with spaghetti. The ā€˜sommelier’ brought out my food with penne rather than spaghetti and commented ā€˜well I asked but hey’ and plonked it down in front of me!!! My husband and I couldn’t believe the attitude. I was starving by this point and ate it anyway. And to be fair it wasn’t bad. But I’m not a huge fan of penne pasta. Shame as lady in charge was really nice/staff friendly, just strange service.

Very Tasty

By travellingbubba |

Very homey atmosphere. Really tasty food. Our party enjoyed the lasagna, Polpette, chicken park and absolutely THE best bruschetta I ever tasted.

YUM!!

By SEB915 |

Stopped here based on a local recommendation. Wonderful, fresh Italian fare! The pasta, the caprese, the bread, the pizza! Also, the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. Small and family owned - Please go visit!

Quite a Disappointment

By Mac Brazel |

We found this restaurant on Google when we were in a hurry to find a place to have dinner. Their website looked okay and it seemed like a good place to eat. We arrived via Uber at 6 PM in a Saturday and the place was complete empty. At the front of the house by the entrance there is some sort of employee table with computers, it’s covered in tons of start papers and drink cups. You can’t miss seeing it, as it’s by the door. It’s very tacky. The interior is dim and not lit up at all. There was a huge wet dark stain on the carpet. None of the tables and chairs went together. They served us water with no ice. When I asked for help with the menu, I got a blank stare in return. They charge extra for bread. We ordered the polenta as an appetizer and it was disappointingly lumpy, salty, an just luke warm. Our three separate main dishes arrived one after the other. Mine was not very warm and the sauce was salty. Overall the food wasn’t very tasty. The entire dining experience was between average and poor. Be aware of the 20% service charge that they tack on at the end. Our bill for three people was $122 and we didn’t order any drinks. Then they also have the Gaul to have a tip line on their credit cart slip. I don’t plan to ever return here.

Surprise dons in Pioneer Square

By Colleen H |

Fantastic atmosphere, service and food. The staff were kind and very nice. Very informed on the menu …..and food was phenomenal !! As a frequent traveler to Italy this place is delicious

Cute little place!

By Holly F |

Good food, great family atmosphere! The decor is charming, and the staff was super friendly. If in the area, recommended for a good quick bite :)

Pizzas were OKAY

By TootleLou2 |

We ordered two pizzas for two of us. They were just OK ... wish I had ordered the pasta based on reviews. Place didn't feel all that clean or friendly. I guess I expected more based on the reviews here

Disappointed in Atmosphere and Service

By idahoduke |

My wife and I decided to eat here because of the reviews. Even though the place was clean it was very unkept. One of the tables in the front looked like it was the employee lounge area. Computer and drinks all over the table. We ordered our food and when it was delivered my wife got the correct item which she started to pull apart and touch, I got the wrong item. The wait staff then came back and picked the items and delivered it another table even after we told them that we had touched the food. That food should be been thrown out and re made. Our correct food arrived and it was very good, but both of us were very disappointed. Also 20% was added to the bill as a service charge. Will probably never go back here.

Delicious

By skiobx |

Excellent food! I wandered in this restaurant and was a bit skeptical. As others have noted, the hostess, was sitting a table that had paperwork and iced coffee cups, but I hadn’t eaten all day and decided to stay. Be warned, this place does not offer nouvelle cuisine...they do not have signature cocktails or cocktail menu....rather it’s like eating in someone’s home..they offer what they have. That being said, the food was amazing. The salad was fresh with homemade dressing, large enough for two! My entree, was huge and the pasta was cooked to al dente perfection! The chicken parmigiana was one of the best I’ve ever had. If you want excellent food this is your place. If you want upscale restaurant trappings go somewhere else.

Big portions, small prices

By KommissarKen |

You want trendy? Go somewhere else. You want traditional dishes, wide selection, friendly service and lots of tasty food and very reasonable prices? Luigi's is your place in old town Seattle. The seafood pasta has lots of shellfish and beautifully done al dente spaghetti in a spicy (but not too spicy) tomato sauce. The brisket gnocchi is hearty; the brisket beefy and the gnocchi are light, almost spongy. The atmosphere and service are low-key and friendly. The prices are also friendly. An all-around comfy place for dinner.

Amazing food!

Had the pleasure of eating here. I had to fight off everyone at my table trying to steal my Brisket Gnocchi. Best Ive ever had and Im Italian! Great service. Really cute, old world charm

Shifty Merchant

By sktravelduo |

Don't spend your money on this place, if your vouchers expire, they will not allow you to use the amount you paid for the Groupon towards food. I spoke with Bill for reservations and I told him my vouchers expired because I can never find a reservation, they're always booked when I call. Bill told me that he would not honor the amount we paid for the Groupons because he had no way of knowing if they were really redeemed or not. Obviously, other merchants don't have this problem. I told Bill that the amount paid never expires and that the merchant is supposed to accept that amount towards their goods or services. Bill then proceeded to tell me that I should take it up with Groupon because I paid them and not him. Wow, nice customer service, Bill! And I'm sure Groupon paid Luigi's for the amount that I paid Groupon, so there's questionable behavior going on here. I contacted Groupon and they were able to refund me the amount paid, thankfully! I DO NOT recommend you buy anything from this merchant, they are not worthy of people's hard earned money. If it wasn't for Groupon's excellent customer service, I would have lost hundreds of dollars to this shifty merchant! The Groupons I bought to Luigi's Italian Eatery were for Five-course interactive cooking class for two, Three-Course Interactive Italian-American Cooking Class for Two, One cultural tour with food and wine tastings at four restaurants for two people, and Seattle's Little Italy Experience for Two.

Great dinner

By Barbara B |

Really great food and service! They took time answering menu questions and helped with dietary restrictions. It was quiet enough to be able to hear each other but a casual fun atmosphere.

Not so friendly service

By skays20 |

We were in Seattle for the night and staying by a near by hotel. We had walked by the restaurant earlier and decided to head there for dinner. It was our first dinner out together as a family at a restaurant since having our son, so I was really looking forward to it. When I arrived, I had to wait a little bit to be acknowledged which was totally fine, staff looked busy. When the bartender said he would be with us soon, I asked if we could just grab the free table outside and he gave me an unfriendly ā€œsureā€. We waited outside for a bit and I just googled the menu on my phone since we didn’t have one yet. We were outside for almost ten minutes and in that time, a lot of people went into the restaurant and had been seated. I wanted to get our order in as we only have so much time with a young child. When I walked in and asked one of the staff if we could please order, they looked puzzled and confused. I mentioned we had been sitting outside and he goes ā€œoh well I didn’t know what you were doing, if you were just sitting out thereā€. Okay? Anyways I asked if we could order again and he again looked confused and said it would be a while before he could get to us. We ended up leaving, definitely ruined our night. I understand that they were starting to get busy but the staff was just rude and made us feel very unwelcome.

Great pasta. Great Prices.

By DaydreaminginDenver |

Our group tried 3 different pasta dishes and they were all excellent. We also enjoyed the garlic bread. This place was not crowded and not noisy. We enjoyed a nice long lunch without feeling any pressure to move along. Great place to escape from the hustle bustle of Seattle.

Nice Italian place in Pioneer Square.

By pmesser2018 |

I had an excellent brisket gnocchi and my wife had a very good pasta in vodka sauce. They have a small but very good wine list. We enjoyed the barbera. I quite liked the tiramisu as well.

Disappointing

By Kevin C |

The food here was terrible. We didn't go crazy with our choices either. Garlic bread was like toasted white bread with no flavor. Spaghetti and meatballs was school cafeteria quality. How an Italian restaurant can mess up these two items is beyond me. My wife got the arancini appetizer for her dinner and it was tiny and bland. It was too bad the food was so bad because the atmosphere and the server were pretty good.

Great Local Restaurant

By Jack2148 |

Great small town restaurant. The food was good— the service was great—the servings were large. We will definitely go back.

Great Local Italian Eatery

By Leighly |

Quaint, local Italian restaurant in Seattle's Pioneer Square. Authentic, pasta dishes at a reasonable price. The atmosphere is charming and it's convenient to much of downtown. Delicious!

Nice Atmosphere, a Great Pizza

By NEBusinessTraveler |

Visited on a Sunday early afternoon, very few patrons inside, great service and a very nice little restaurant. We found it clean and they had a good menu items, although a little light on beer selection. Two of us had the pizza and really enjoyed it, thin crust, done perfectly, plenty of cheese, just right on the toppings. Good value.

Great food

By BlarghBlargh |

We stopped off here for lunch before catch our flight back home and this was just what we needed to prep us for the long journey. Food was very tasty and portion sizes were great. Good selections of wines too.

Authentic Italian cuisine in Seattle

By IndyPitz1727 |

Authentic Italian cuisine in an atmosphere that will have you looking over your shoulder just in case Sollozzo and McCluskey walk in with Michael Corleone... The food is absolutely fantastic! And Bill will be sure to take great care of you, as well as provide some nice conversation. Already a repeat customer, and looking forward to another fabulous meal here!!!

Awesome dinner

By CLHTX |

I had been to Luigi’s for lunch before and was worried to go back after reading some reviews. I’m SO glad I didn’t listen. It was AMAZING on of the best meals we have had in a long time. Our servers were great, they tailored the food to our tastes. Everything we had was perfect! The next time we will do the menu where you tell them a price and what you don’t like and they create a meal for you. Can’t wait to go back. We didn’t have the pizza but it looked fabulous.

Magnificent seafood pasta

By John M |

One of the specials was seafood pasta - it was the best I've had anywhere. My wife had pasta with meatballs which was above average. Service was friendly. Washroom arrangements quirky - you walk throught the kitchen and need ae entry code.

Authentic Italian Food, But No Wine List Is Unconscionable!

By lim48 |

My wife and I ate here for dinner on a Saturday night around 6:00, using a Travel Zoo deal we found on line: two antipasti, two entrees and one bottle of house red or white for $59, supposedly a $100 value. More info coming, but beware of ordering an upgraded wine. Place is in a rather funky old brick building, somewhat typical of the Pioneer Square district. There is no bar, but rather a bunch of liquor bottles all crammed onto a large table against the wall. So drinks are served only at your table. We were greeted by an older gentleman (the owner?) who seated us and brought us menus. He took our Travel Zoo certificate and informed us that the house wines came in carafe, not bottle. And if we wanted to upgrade to a better wine, $32 from our certificate would be applied and we would pay only the difference. I asked to see the wine list and was informed there is no list. He would show me the available wines and tell me the prices. I asked to see an Aglianico. He brought two...one for $34 and one for $60. I chose the $60 one (thus paying only $28) and it was excellent. But when I got home and checked the retail price on line, I found it sells for between $16 and $21. That's a seriously hefty markup...even at restaurant prices. When the restaurant has no wine list, it makes it difficult to select a wine and compare prices. Also, while I'm not saying they would do it, they could charge me one price and someone else a different price. So again I say: Beware of scandalous wine prices!! If I ever do a Travel Zoo offer for this restaurant again, I'll choke down the house wine. It's a shame because with food as authentic and delicious as what we had, why isn't there a standard wine list? For appetizers we had a full pound of clams steamed in a pesto cream broth ($14) that was to die for. We sopped up as much broth as we could with an order of very tasty garlic bread topped with loads of grated Parmesan. We also had the calamari (tentacles and tubes...yes!) sauteed with olives roasted peppers and capers ($13). For entrees we had Pasta Cozze ($14)...spaghetti perfectly cooked al dente with a sauce of fennel and licorice flavored Sambucca liqueur, slightly sweet and exquisite. We also ordered the Chicken Saltimbocca ($16)...chicken breast pounded flat and served with prosciutto and a light wine sauce. All the food was incredibly delicious and the servings were huge. We shared everything and left completely filled. I was also informed that their desserts are quite delicious and all made in house. Something for next time. If we had purchased the food without the certificate deal, the price would have come to $57, leaving us $2 for wine. So the deal was indeed a deal of sorts, but the wine thing left me cold. So I'll return for the food, but stick with the house wine. I also want to note that while our experience was really quite good, there seems to be an issue with consistency in service and food prep, as others have had some really poor experiences. That can be rectified with conscientious management. And please: PUT TOGETHER A WINE LIST THAT ALL YOUR CUSTOMERS CAN PERUSE AND UNDERSTAND! I'm retired from the wine and liquor industry and fully realize the importance of one.

Amazing genuine Italian restaurant

By Srink2328 |

We just happened upon this restaurant as we were walking around. So we have it a go as I love Italian and I was hungry. Well it didn’t disappoint. Small and intimate atmosphere, staff were friendly, and treated our family like we were one of theirs. The food was Amazing! The flavors were delicious. Everything was amazing. So good that we came back another night. If you’re looking for good home cooked flavor of Italy this is the place.

Terrible

By Bob M |

Absolutely the worst food and service in a dirty dingey atmosphere. The pasta was over cooked , the sauce watery and runny and the female bartender was rude with the worst attitude

Great Italian Restaurant

By Meg Z |

We were in the neighbor attending a tour when we stumbled upon Luigi’s. We hadn’t read any reviews and thought we would take a chance as our teen aged grandsons were so hungry. So glad we did, the food was amazing and the service was equally as good. The grandsons loved their lasagna and carbonara and said it was as good as what they had in Italy over the Christmas holidays. My husband and I both throughly enjoyed our entrees ...what a great find.

Visit Italy closer to home

By jonpender |

From the moment we walked in we were made welcome by the friendly attentive staff. Our waitress made excellent suggestions on how to sample some of the best authentic, Italian dishes made from scratch. Each dish was superb !

Just awful. Left before we even ordered.

By TravelingDad_PTFC |

I called to make a reservation as there were 9 of us, 6 adults & 3 children. No one answered & I was instructed to leave a message after the beep to make a reservation, which I did. When we arrived at the restaurant an hour later they had clearly not checked their messages & seemed offended we were there. Asked us to give them a minute to try & find a table, then came back & said we could sit at 2 separate tables. No problem, we can do that. They then hastily wiped 2 tables in the entrance area & muttered, ā€œyou can sit hereā€ as she walked away. I sat down, but others in the party didn’t hear her & asked what was going on. She then brought one pitcher of water to one table, but nothing to the other table. Menus were dropped off & one table started asking questions about the food options when she came back to take the orders. Right then another group walked in & the waitress just left to find them a seat ignoring the person in my group trying to order. At this time we decided to just leave & went to another restaurant. It was too bad really, as the menu options looked great & prices seemed reasonable.

Good food

By KMillerNewYork |

4 stars is for the food. Atmosphere is so, so. No air conditioning. But service and food were very good. We had garlic bread to start, which was very good. I had pasta Alfredo with chicken and added asparagus (for only $2 extra!). My husband had Chicken Parmigiana, which was good, but he needed more sauce, which they brought without a problem. Prices are very reasonable. Food is good, as long as the out-dated atmosphere doesn't bother you.

Great atmosphere, decent food

By millamy |

Family of 5 - 2 adults, kids 13, 10, 6 went for dinner on a Thursday evening. Great, quaint atmosphere, family friendly and homey. Food was decent but not outstanding. Bistec had quite a bit of fat/grizzle. Gnocchi with brisket was good but not a lot of depth of flavor. Alfredo was a bit watery and not very thick for a cream sauce. 2 of the kids didn’t really like the meatballs. Good garlic bread. $115 for 5 people, 4 meals (2 kids shared food, 3 servings of house wine). Would go back for atmosphere but food was only so-so with decent service.

Old Italian Quaint Atmosphere with Authentic Food

By Teresa C |

We had 1-1/2 hrs until our underground tour in Pioneer Square, and decided to give Luigi’s a try. Sure glad we did! My husband had one of the Italian sandwiches and I had the prosciutto flatbread, both were delicious. The side salads were also authentic and very good! It’s small, quaint with an old world flare. Our server was great too. Their desserts of the day, cannoli, chocolate salami and tiramisu, sounded delicious but we were full after our meal!!!

Great basic food

By Su Neat |

Great neighborhood Italian restaurant that is a lunch time and pre-game favorite hangout. Pizza and arancita are my favorites but today had a marvelous plate of Basilico. This is a much improved version of my husband's "greasy spaghetti" and has pine nuts, fresh tomatoes, basil, and parmesan tossed in garlic olive oil. I don't drink anymore but they do make some mean bar drinks.

Quiet Italian Lunch

By Chelsea C |

The Gnocchi with Mozzarella was very large so I’d advise splitting it, but the Bruschetta and the Pizza were both really good! The restaurant was pretty quiet around 2pm during our visit and the man serving us was attentive but not intrusive.

Terrible service and mediocre food

By Formiga |

We went with a big group before an event for dinner at 4pm so it wasn’t super busy. We were met with terrible service, our drink menus were taken away because they needed it for other tables, they were seemingly offended when we asked for it back so we could order more drinks, surprised we wanted spoons to eat our pasta with instead of a knife and fork. Our friend’s dinner didn’t get to him until everyone was almost done, there was no apology. Going with a big group, the bill got an automatic 20% gratuity so they really don’t have to try very hard. I was looking forward to the food but it wasn’t good and I would skip this restaurant and make different plans.

Yummy Pandinas

By GFrib |

It was lunch time and quiet, Just finished the Underground Tour. Need to sit and eat. We ordered pandinas - the meatballs and the sausage. Fresh, tasty, filling! Next time we are in Seattle, we plan to come back here.

Disappointed dinner for this diner.

By Michael H |

Not sure what is up with all the great reviews. The table & chair combos are weird…chairs are low to the floor and tables are at mid chest level. And I’m 6’. Garlic bread was edible, but not too much flavor. The house salad was very nice, but the chicken parm was not so good. It was not cooked to order. Chicken was kind of funky (tough) and there was too much breading. Sauce was thick and lacked good flavor. Spaghetti side was forgettable. Overall, was very disappointed based on previous reviews.

I took a cooking class from Rosanna

By Diana R |

I took a cooking class from Rosanna. She was amazing and the food came out great. I highly recommend this restaurant for authentic Italian food.

Average to above average

By Dave R |

Saw what seemed to byte great reviews. Went to reastaunt to eat with three others. Garlic bread was great. Dinner was just Average...

Great Italian

By E P |

Went to Luigi with a couple of friends who had eaten there before. Nice atmosphere, fantastic food and very reasonable prices. The portions are perfect size and you don't end up paying for food that you can't finish. Had the lasagne and it was one of the best I have ever had. Salads were fresh and generous size. Lamb chops were huge and if you don't want pasta with it the veggie side is delicious. Service was very attentive. Overall a very good meal and experience.

Just OK

By Magslife |

Pizza was just OK. I had to send it back, because the middle was cold. Bruschetta was good. Tiffany, my waitress, was great, thorough and thoughtful. I won't return nor recommend this restaurant because of the food.

Tastet strange

By KarinaLG |

Had read the good reviews at trip advisor and was looking forward to a good Italian pasta meal. But unfortunately it tasted very strange my pasta and sauce and it was too salty and the house wine was not that good. The service was ok. And the good thing was that the service was included in the price so you did not have to think about that.

Ok meal, expected better

By Lina S |

It was an ok meal. We expected much better from a "proper" Italian. Good vegetarian selection. Customer service was good but we felt extremely rushed for no apparent reason.... may be an American thing but certainly looks unwelcoming to Europeans

Fantastic experience for large group

By Lisa_434 |

The staff at Luigi’s catered for our large group with delicious food and excellent service. The vegetarian options were excellent and everyone was well catered for.

Pleasant Italian food in Pioneer Square

By Alec D |

Luigi's seems to cater to the tourists visiting Seattle. It reminds me of many Italian restaurants in the US from about 1970-90. If you love that style of American Italian food then you will most likely enjoy Luigi's. The decor is unique. The service is nice, and the food is average.

Excellent !

By Cyndi V |

Wow! Great meal! We were graciously assisted with our order. The starter house salad had bits of apples, a mix of greens and sweet balsamic dressing. The lasagne was in a light marinara sauce , filled with cheese, ground beef, carrots and celery. My spaghetti had a buttery, light cheese sauce along with sauteed mushrooms. Soooo good! We left satisfied, but not over stuffed! Highly recommended!

This place is amazing

By SHARTLEY2004 |

Brushehetta app was great. Shrimp pasta was great as was pasta with basil, mozzarella and tomato. Pasta all dente which we like. Not crowded because not trendy area but near 2nd and James and was easy walking for us. Reasonable prices too!

Best Service in Town!

By LaVie_NRosa |

My friend and I were visiting Seattle and came upon this place by sheer chance but were extremely glad we did. At first glance we were a bit hesitant, there was only one table occupied and the place was kind of a ghost town. We were promptly seated and provided with a menu. The menu offered many different kinds of pastas and risottos as well as proteins, it was a bit hard to make a choice. In comes our wonderful server, an older gentleman called William who was a delight from the get-go. I shared my indecision with him and he had the absolute perfect solution, we could decide on a per person cost between $30 and $50, let him know our likes and dislikes and they would take care of the rest. We took the chance and went with the $40 pp and shared I don't eat eggs or fresh tomatoes. Immediately, we were served a tray of various meats, cheeses and pickled veggies. Followed by cremini mushrooms, garlic knots and caesar salad. Then came lobster ravioli that were delicious. The next course was a savory risotto, followed by our main entree oon cheesy polenta with quail (I had never had this before). Finally, dessert was a super moist and scrumptious tiramisu. By the time we left, we could barely breath. The food was wonderful and ample but the service and attention received by William and the other server (a young girl whose name I missed, sorry) were magnificent. Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Seattle and feeling adventurous.

Groupon purchase

By Escape799921 |

We bought a dinner for 2 on groupon that said available immediately. When we got there they would not except it because we didn't call a day ahead. They said we needed a reservation, even though they were only serving 2 tables at the time. We ate from them menu and were very disappointed. The tomatoes in the appetizers were not ripe. The tomato sauce for the gnocchi was awful. And the penne was beyond al dente, more like uncooked out of a box. We won't go back even to use our prepaid groupon meal. I am going to give it to a friend.

Delicious late dinner!!

We got there probably 40 minutes before it closes and we’re graciously served by their polite staff and the food was MARVELOUS!!! The brisket gnocchi was out of this world!! I highly suggest the place!! Really loved it!!
